@mauvecardigans every once in awhile it's good and healthy to get the sheer indignant feeling out at cobra kai, I think it's like a purification process -- if there's one thing every fan I've seen on tumblr have in common, regardless of which characters we stan, it's a knowledge that the show has fucked with them in some way, and that fanfic and fanart and meta that incorporates original movie themes is fixing it
(and then we collectively clown-makeup our way through s6)
You ever think Espio gets mad because Charmy thinks Shadow is the coolest person alive but when Espio does the /exact same thing/ Charmy thinks he's a loser
Definitely peeved, but he tries to talk himself out of it with "The ninja is not bothered by such attacks on his person, all the ninja cares about is training with no regards for what those leading a less disciplined life think about it" kind of statements. Sourly. Arms crossed. Back turned. The very picture of annoyance, lmao.
That being said, I think Shadow can definitely pull off the Cool Mysterious Competent Person appearance a bit better. Both he and Espio are the Straight Man of their respective party, but Espio is stuck with a highly chaotic manchild and an even more chaotic actual child, and thus he is not immune to participation in the shenanigans. Rouge and Omega meanwhile have far less of a comedic angle to them, and therefore Team Dark as a whole has much less of a goofy vibe to them. And Espio ties all his cool actions heavily to being a ninja: just listen to his quotes when ending a level in Heroes. As such, I do not fault Charmy for seeing Shadow as cooler than Espio, haha!
So did any other autistic people have ABA therapists encourage your parents to have you participate in a "variety of activities" as a young kid to prevent you from developing special interests?
Did that prevent you from practicing an activity long-term, thus keeping you from being good at anything? And as an adult, did that inhibit your ability to develop hobbies and find interests that you're passionate about?
people talk about pumped up kicks as the premiere "school shooting song that is really catchy" but they're fools because i don't like mondays by the boomtown rats is right there and has been for nearly fifty years.
thinking of eli going from being bullied to unlocking that rage in him and being misguided thus becoming a bully himself to seeing what he had done and learning who he really is and actively trying to fix his mistakes and owning up to them.
I’m showing my ass wrt to what kind of cobra kai posting I’ve seen on this site by saying this but daniel larusso is NOT as italian as you’re depicting him. chances are he’s third generation at least and as someone who is also third generation I’m just gonna say that while I think his sense of connection to italian-ness as a concept is sincere it’s, like, if he spoke any italian I would be surprised. his cultural identity comes from his mom whose understanding of that identity came from her parents and they’re all serious about it but generational drift and assimilation happen and that understanding gets more muddled/becomes more of a simulacrum over time. a copy of a copy. which is fine like that’s how culture works but people lean towards writing him as italian instead of italian-american and well I simply don’t buy that. and did you forget him hitting kyler with a microaggression a minute when they first met he’s the kind of white man who awkwardly brings up being italian whenever a person of color mentions experiencing racism because he thinks it’s a valid comparison but it is not
tl;dr this man is NOT a latin lover. he wishes he were but he is not!

Wrist hurts, can't sleep, stressed out, so I actually braved the Ironwood tag and found some cute art. We interrupt your regularly scheduled (well, queued) karate nonsense content for some of that nonsense instead
