The final season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has just begun to release.

The Ares and Apollo cabins are in a dispute over ownership for the flying chariot.

The counselors sit around a table in the Big House.

Percy has just learned that he's (probably) gonna die in the next month, when Clarisse and Michael begin to bicker. Percy has had it up to here.

He starts clapping rhythmically. There is a lull in the room as they stare at him.

He claps faster.

"Oh golly, the road's getting bumpy, cause I've got me some friends who just can't get along-"

Okay, I know we’re all loving the random future moments in which that dang “consensus” song could come up, but can we talk about the fact that Annabeth has probably heard it before? From Grover? She admitted that Thalia gave her a hard time - I’d put money on the idea that Grover sang the Consensus Song to Thalia when she was getting on Annabeth’s case. Some people might think Grover is a scared pushover, but this satyr has probably sang that insane song at now TWO impossible children.

And can you just imagine the flashbacks Annabeth when he started singing it on the bus? Like she hasn’t heard that ridiculous clap since she was seven but I bet she immediately knew it the same way we can be in our 20’s or 30’s and remember in an instant the silly ways our kindergarten teachers used to get us to be quiet.

Percy might have been wondering what in Hades was up with the song, but you know Annabeth was standing there thinking “oh gods no, not this damn song again.”

that scene in Mark of Athena where Percy and Jason start being passive-aggressive Manly about who gets to sit at the head of the table. And the tension is rising and everybody is starting to get nervous and people are about to start pulling weapons and then-

annabeth starts clapping slowly

and percy immediately groans and goes "wise girl, come on, you dont have to-"

and nobody knows what the hell is going on but the tension has gone away from pure confusion

then annabeth starts singing: "oh, golly. the road's gettin bumpy 'cause I got me some friends who just cant get along-"

and now percy's snorting and clapping to the beat because he forgot he had forgotten Grover's stupid consensus song that helped them through their first quest when they were just twelve and then everybody calms down and annabeth and percy explain the joke to everyone and from then on every single argument is solved by people singing the consensus song and getting too into it to continue the argument

Arthur: merlin, this is the worst day of my life, everyones betrayed me, you suddenly have magic and i have no idea what to do. why are you taking me on a random journey to a lake

I need an episode at some point to have the gods get into an argument and Grover, Annabeth & Percy look at each other. Grover starts clapping, the other two join in and they start singing "The consensus song" in full as the gods stare at them with utter confusion.

The consensus song was SO ‘In the Same Boat’ of Show!Grover and both are SO in character for book!Grover, I love both adaptations for that.
