Black Myth: Wukong
More brainrot commentary because I'M NOWHERE NEAR DONE WITH GOING INSANE OVER THIS MONKE GAME.
Cursed texts and massive spoilers bellow. Lots of random bits and wee woo wee woo.
Tumblr media
First of all, YEEESSS to everything well written big budget media with heavy cultural elements that isn't western centric. Love it 👏, a thousand more like this please.
HONESTLY can't get enough of the character designs. Watching the old tv show in my childhood got me imagining the JTTW characters as these cute human with animal ears. But since the game took a more serious and darker tone they took the character design to 1000. So many memorable characters with distinct style, drip, and combat.
Ok so whose idea was it to make some of the plants sentient and will beat your ass for daring to pick them up. I now have trust issues with ginseng and mushrooms
The toad bosses reminds me of Gamabunta. For a moment they also gave me a war flashback of Jedi Survivor's Oggdo-Bogdo, I want those things vaporised from earth 🔫🔫
Kang-Jin darkening the environment during her second stage, I legit thought it was a problem with my screen, until I found out other players had it too lmao. Also looove her design, silver loong with holographic glow, prettiest loong in the game
Boss musics are so LIT, I've been looping them for weeks
The Scorpionlord. First I saw him I was like HANZO HASASHI :DD??? But instead of hellfire, this time he uses venom. And the fact that the environments have autumn palette, connects me to MK 11 Shirai Ryu fire garden arena lol
an NPC called Starved Abomination. The name really sends me because ngl it's a relatable concept, I too became an abomination whenever I'm starving.
To punish Wukong for his lifetime worth of trash-talking, the game now choose The Destined One as shy and doesn't talk much except for when he screams during fights. All my grievances of expecting him to be chatty and noisy actually works out the more I understand the story. And turns out it was all part of his journey, you are meant to complete him by collecting Wukong's scattered senses. Lil introverted fur-ball of scream I love you so much. Since the NG+++ Wukong stance actually gave him voicelines, I'm guessing the Destined One is going to complete his development in actually becoming Wukong in the DLC.
Everyone and I mean EVERYONE had a beef with Wukong and now we gotta pick up after his mess. My poor Destined One walked into an area completely clueless and suddenly everyone is jumping on him because "REMEMBER THE THING YOU DID TO ME A FEW HUNDRED YEARS AGO??? WELL FUK YOU, NOW DIE."
~
🐱Yin Tiger🐱. First time I met him I was like ohhh who are you, you look so cool and kinda cute tho, look at those big boba eyes, pspspsps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's all busy with his hammer and zabuza sword, thinks you're so annoying for bothering his work. Then there's this "challenge" option and suddenly he rose and casually tossed his hammer to the ground, I was like wait I was just joking aYO I WAS JUST JOKING-, then proceeds to delete my HP in 30 seconds. Anyway I love how he appears big and heavy and yet moves so swiftly. Of ALL the tiger bosses in this game, imo he's the coolest and THE SANEST. I still can''t get over the Tiger Vanguard and Mad Tiger trauma, those orange cats are on a whole new level of insanity.
🕷️Fourth Spider Sister🕷️. I'm actually so INVESTED in her mystery, like why are you helping me? Why do you look so sad? Are those tear stains on your cheeks?? Why did the Immortal Crane said that I'm giving you "false hopes"? What were we in the previous life?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Think about her, won't you? Should you feel like stirring trouble in your next life." WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, TELL ME. SHE SEEMS SO NICE THO, she's just a sad goth girl what did she do?? What did WE do?? And her journal entry is so interesting.
🐉Yellow Loong🐉. LISTEN.... I literally had to pause for a moment when I saw him. Cutscene plays and I was like Oohh it's going to be that type of charismatic character reciting monologue, and then I saw his name and it's THE YELLOW LOONG??? This suave horned man is The Yellow Loong??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well damn I have to say that's one handsome loong. He's one of those elegant style fighters, my favourite genre, up there with Whiteclad Noble and Erlang Shen.
👁️Erlang Shen⚡. The way I turned up the volume when I heard Andrew Koji's Erlang voice.....It's just so.......pleasant to hear. Something about the way he did his voice, the smug taunts, the gentle almost-whispers, and the gROWLS???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't even with the entirety of Erlang's character design in this game, because dAMN BOI what a BEAUTY. I thought the game was going to make his appearance more mature looking, or even scarier, because that's just how it is with game character design formula, especially in games like this. But NOOOOO..... they made him ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. His face, his voice, HIS MOVESS, the way they designed his martial arts so elegantly. When you perfect dodge everything with him, it really feels like a dance. I have to note that when sometimes you tried heavy attack on him aND HE SIMPLY JUST-.... took one step to the side.... THE ABSOLUTE SLAYYY DISRESPECT💅💅. Welcome back Isshin from Sekiro.
Also I just found out that depending on what transformation you're using, he's going to react differently on each. Particularly interesting one was when you use Azure Dust. Most of the time, when you transform, he's going to transform too and chances are he's going to one-shot you out of the transformation. He doesn't do that with Azure Dust for some reason, instead he got amused because Lmao returning back to your origin?. And this line, "Walking his path is no easy feat, it will test you relentlessly". SOMETHING SOMETHING ABOUT ERLANG HAVING THIS HIDDEN BURDEN THROUGHOUT THE PLOT IS DRIVING ME INSANE, I NEED THE DLC TO EXPLORE HIS CHARACTER MORE I'M BEGGING YOU GAME SCIENCE. You can't leave me hanging with his journal entry please I want him to have some peace and closure.
Powerful quiet character with hidden struggle, the bane of my existence, my beloved.
☂️🐉The Four Heavenly Kings🎸🗡️. MAN I love these guys, their fight feels so rewarding somehow, because after all those struggles with Erlang, they feel more like a reward battle for visual entertainment.
Tumblr media
Aside from being relatively easy, they're just so fun to watch. I keep wanting to stall the fight just to see what move sets they could perform because their coordinated attacks are just SO COOL.
South king throwing the sword at us, joined by the West king throwing punches, and then the West king passing the sword back to South king. That brief moment of them passing weapons, they need to do more of that, so sick.
The North king combo with every other kings. The West jumping up using the North's umbrella, summoned the dragon, the South yeeting the sword, and the East buffing up the umbrella thrust attack with his Pipa magic. I'd hate to be a normal human citizen under them during that scene GODDAMN. I'd say the West is the game's favourite king because he's the one with the most screentime. He's the one with distinct glowing eyes and he was the most visible behind Erlang during the opening. The North being the coolest because WTF WAS THAT TYPHOON UMBRELLA WITH THE WEST'S DRAGON ROLLING WITH IT, AND THE MUSIC QUE, ABSOLUT CINEMA. The East probably being the chillest of them all because my man was just serenading the fight yo, I like how his fingers actually moves accurately playing the BGM. I know they're on the heaven's side, but for some reason I want them to be on our side if it's possible in the DLC. If we could get Erlang, then surely we can get them? They're too epic not to have.
🐒THE GREAT SAGE'S BROKEN SHELL🐒
THE MONKEY, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND. SUN. WU. KONG. THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT WHEN THIS MF SHOWED UP ON SCREEN. TEARFUL CHEER AND AND UNIMAGINABLE TERROR. AND WITH THAT BITS OF THE OG TV SHOW THEME MOTIF PLAYING WHEN HE SUMMONED JINGU BANG.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who would've thought that we're going to fight our former self as a literal your greatest enemy is yourself concept. Like yO IT'S THE G HIMSELF WUKONG but now FUK I HAVE TO FIGHT HIM?? Look, sir, Mr. Great Sage, I know I've been playing around as you and I don't even know what I'm doing, I'M SORRY.
So now we're fighting zombie Wukong. He's literally soulless inside and his voice sounds demonic. YET STILL he radiates that lively asshole energy. You try pillar stance to get away from him, he does the same but his pillar is TALLER than yours. You try to walk off calmly, he does the same but then taunts you for it, eats a peach and then flicks the seed to your head. Kicks you to the sky and transforms his jingu bang into a pillar and plants it to the ground with you under it. He cheats by summoning kintoun and body slammed you. He summoned his clones to kick you in all directions only for the original Wukong to wait on the side yawning, then he kicks your jingu bang back at you like "pick it up bitch", and taunts you with his hand gesture to come at him. Ok now you're raging and you tried to pillar stance heavy attack at him, he's like "shut yo bitch-" and GRABBED YOUR JINGU BANG WITH YOU STILL HOLDING ON TO IT AND STARTS USING YOU AS A FLY SWATTER. Just as you think that these suffering couldn't get any worse, you tried to heal and he IMMOBILISED YOU, SNATCHED YOUR GOURD AND TOOK A SIP, decided that it tastes like shit and threw it back at you. Now THIS is the little shit that I know and love.
The whole time you tried to do a move against him, he returned the favour but better. You think your staff extension is long? Ok he'll extend his staff to a kilometer, and that's STILL him holding back. You can do ring of fire? His is bigger in diameter and burns brighter. The game had to nerf out his lore accurate skills because it's just so atrociously OP.
Ok so you finally defeated him? Just as he got dusted away he still managed to croak a last laugh.
Que good ending animated cutscene with the JTTW plot in reverse serenaded with Celestial Symphony. Happy onions, happy onions tearing up the eyes. Crank the volume up, it's all coming together. That's Ba Jie, that's Sanzang, that's Wujing, that's horse.
MMMMMMM MONKE.

Hey! Hope you’re enjoying the new season!
So, who are your top ten clones. GO!
this is gonna be tough and I won’t lie, I can’t pick 10 so it may be top 12 lmao
But, here’s my top 10(12) 😆
10th. Cody - Handsome dude and did break my heart in the prequels. Good soldier, sassy, and would return my lightsaber. 😊 hope he’s safe.
9th. Waxer - my first love and first heartbreak of TCW. Absolute sweetie and would be a great dad. I miss him 💔
8th. Joint at 8th place is Dogma and Fox - two slight controversial characters for some but absolute angels to me. Love writing for Dogma and Foxiyo until I die is what I say. Would smash.
7th. Wrecker - tricky placement. Cute. Handsome. Looks like a cinnamon roll, is a cinnamon roll and could kill me. Bit too loud for me sometimes though. Would cuddle 🤗
6th. Hunter - my type on paper to a T. Handsome and kinda but also moody. Coolest tattoo. Some choices are questionable but a morally good guy imo. Would brush his hair for him ❤️
5th. Wolffe - bark fucking bark. Or howl maybe. Handsome, moody, and a proper son to my favourite Jedi Plo. I need to and have to write/read more fics about him (open to recommendations pls)
4th. Rex - because how can there ever be a top 10 list without him? An OG. A legend. Sweet and a great leader and loyal to a fault. Again, would like to read or write more about him in fics. I’m not into blondes but for him? Yes.
3rd. Fives - oh my beloved fives. The nightmares are finally over. I have never hyperventilated over a characters death before until his. A legend, handsome and funny. I miss him a lot and wish there were more callbacks to him. Nobody would ever know if it wasn’t for him.
2nd. A hard spot to place but for me Echo and Crosshair are joint here. Two big personalities but very different and complex. I do think Echo is my favourite character to write about out of anyone and Crosshair is just… Crosshair. I like a bad guy but also a grey character in my eyes. Would give them both a kiss on the head and a cookie. 🍪
1st. Tech. Tech. Tech. Tech. Surprise surprise. A personal comfort character for me who I miss alot. Could not rewatch the show because of his death and I miss his big stupid brown eyes 😭 handsome, has the coolest gear, would marry. Either love him or hate him. For me, it’s love and beyond.
There you go 😆 again, this is just my personal favourites and I’m sorry if someone you hate is up there or if someone you love isn’t. It was a difficult choice.
Curios to see everyone else’s so feel free to RB and give me your top 10… or 12… or more! Reasons not necessary 😊
Thanks for the ask!

I am so tired of Ahsoka!
She wasn't needed and now she is literally everywhere. I go on on any social media and serach for Prequel Trilogy stuff and I can't go 1 minute without seeing something about her, when she wasn't even in the films. I honestly am so mad that I wasn't part of the fandom before Ahsoka was created because she kinda becomes "the most important person for Anakin (fuck you Obi-Wan and Padme)".
It's a bit sad since she could have been a cool character. Just make her master someone else and don't make her the most special and powerful Jedi. And if they wanted to make her a padawan of a "special" master than maybe introduce a new Jedi who idk maybe left the Jedi Order long ago and now they return because of the Clone Wars. This would mean that: a) Ahsoka still has a "special" master b) because she is trained by a master who only recently returned to the order she has training different than any other padawan c)due to her master she has controversial opinions on some Jedi customs. This could be a good point of conflict for her character (do I listen to my master or the Order) and also doesn't make unnecessary changes in the story of film characters (Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan and others).
Honestly, I think that when you do a serial for a beloved film you should ensure that the characters you fit with what the films tell us. The Jedi Council didn't want to make Anakin a master, so why would they give him a padawan. As ignorant as they could sometimes be, I think that connecting "Anakin is not mature enough to be master" with "Anakin is not mature enough to have a padawan". It's really something I think they would notice.
I 👏 HAVE 👏 BEEN 👏 SAYING 👏 THIS 👏 FOR 👏 YEARS 👏
She is COMPLETELY unnecessary to Anakin's story and always was. Every story beat she supposedly fulfills is already fulfilled by another character. I kinda wonder if it was an attempt at whitewashing Anakin's character (Lucas was involved in TCW and apparently wanting Anakin to be more appealing from what I heard, and this was back when the prequels and Hayden were NOT as loved as they were now because my generation wasn't as huge a fandom voice as the old OT-loving guard) and making him more appealing but no. Anakin is a human garbage can and that's what makes him such a compelling and interesting character!!!
I honestly would probably be a huge Ahsoka stan if TCW was envisioned as its own thing and focused on her as a character on her own instead of making her Anakin's Most Specialest Beloved Padawan Who Is Best At Everything (She Can Even Fight Grievous omg!!!). Back then we were so starved for female characters, we had Leia and some Padme mainstream but that was it (you only knew about Mara Jade in Legends and she wasn't in the mainstream merch or anything from what I recall), and much as I love a good dies-of-sadness joke, Padme is often simplified to that and shoved aside even though she's a really cool and complicated character in her own right. I will give Ahsoka credit for blazing the way for female characters to be more included in Star Wars, but it falls flat when she's just propped up as Coolest Wisest Bestest Jedi-but-not-a-Jedi-actually-she's-better-than-the-Order Girlboss. Now we're back to Only One Female Character Above All Others. (Rey and Rose were ruined with bad writing, Hera and Sabine are wonderful but definitely not mainstream (and probably being butchered in the show), Gina Carano ruined our chances of any more Cara content, Peli was just a cameo last season, and Bo-Karen also got the Always Right Beloved TCW Girlboss Treatment.)
Imo the Council was pretty much always on the money with Anakin (at least with what they knew of him - they didn't know of the Tusken murder spree for example) and there's no way Anakin was ever ready for a Padawan or that anyone in their right mind would give him one. In MY episode III fanfiction when Favored Main Character Got A Padawan, Obi-Wan got the Padawan because he had more experience teaching, even at 12 I knew Anakin had no business teaching anyone. Also, it was NEVER previously canon that Padawans were assigned. Masters chose them as in the Jedi Apprentice series. I will NEVER let that go. Ahsoka being assigned to Anakin was so contrived.

16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
Ppl can fight me about it, but I genuinely like the concepts of mankind trying to replicate/create their own cloths in hopes of standing a chance against cosmos powered cloths. Like the Iron saints from the classic anime's filler episodes, that become a bigger thing in Omega. And even whatever KOTZ's first season with the whole Vander Guraad tech shenanigans.
I feel like this franchise could have room for things like this. It's a shame these topics are only ever brought up in animations, and they don't seem to have a clear purpose for them. All while the fandom just trashes them </3. Omega's 2nd season was a cool experimenting, with these things IMO.
I got into Sts coming from the SW brainrot, and let me tell you. Omega's 2nd season gave me a taste of that Jedi & clones fun stuff I loved seeing.

Well, I finished KOTOR 2 today and I didn't get all the stuff I wanted in my playthrough, oh well.
I forgot how going to Dantooine forces you into the end game sequence after you find all the Jedi Masters.
Also, learned the max level is 50 in KOTOR 2 when the max level in KOTOR 1 was 20.
Tumblr media
Darth Nihilus looks pretty cool imo, he is the coolest looking Sith character in the KOTOR games, a shame he barely appears in KOTOR 2, wish he was the actual final boss instead of Kreia imo
I personally like KOTOR 2 more than KOTOR 1 in a gameplay department, but I will agree that KOTOR 1 has the better story.
If I rank the KOTOR party members in terms of who I actually like it would be weird.
As honestly I don't actually like all the party members in either game, but I do like that in KOTOR 2 you can teach the force to some of them and that makes them become way more useful than what they start out as.
I really wish that if you played as a female character in KOTOR 2 you could get Handmaiden as well and not be forced to have Disciple instead, like Handmaiden is way cooler imo
Tumblr media
That artwork looks pretty cool and I like it a lot, however from what I remember is that canonically the Jedi Exile is a blonde haired girl
Another thing wrong about the artwork is that it is implying the player is male and therefore they wouldn't have the Disciple in their party at all, because he is only obtainable as a female character.

So I did start m*ss *ff*ct and am a few hours into it and I just gotta say. Considering it is a cherished series with a massive fanbase that I have a good deal of crossover with as a DA fan... I am just about as unimpressed by it as I was Andromeda LMAO. I actually have an easier time with the combat cuz even remastered it's an older game so it's easier to see where everything is since paths are plain and free of eye-catching clutter, but other than that... Man. Outside of all the shit that's been said to death about the ways in which ME sucks, I'm also so extraordinarily disconnected from the power fantasy they're giving me that I have no earthly clue how to roleplay my character. At least in DAI (the hardest DA game to roleplay and the most intense power fantasy IMO) you start off as a total nobody, even if you're nobility, and we have to see every step of your rise to Inquisitor. In DAO, which has more tonal commonalities with ME, whether you're a nobody or not, you lose absolutely everything right away and have to rebuild yourself from the ground up, and even with all the power you can gain in this game you still have to work for it, you're on your own for so long. In ME it seems like out the gate you're already the coolest person to ever exist and you just have an extremely awesome ship for no good reason. At least Skyhold was given to you by the shadow antagonist lol.
It really feels a lot like KOTOR, from graphics to interfaces to level design, but even in that one you have to work your way up to Jedi iirc. Maybe it's also partially because I feel so weird and unsure about military fantasies specifically that I have an extremely hard time stepping into the shoes of my ultra cool space marine. Idk. But the first few hours haven't done much for me, I just feel weirdly nostalgic for DAO and also KOTOR despite never getting off the tutorial planet and saving Bastila from the SWOOP RACE or whatever I was doing
Oh also the character writing is just kind of meh so far (though from spending so much time on the DA subreddit I have seen fans of both series talk about how DA has much better character writing, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot tbh). I like Ashley the most atm, Tali's all right but it's hard not to think about her super creepy dude fanbase while interacting with her. Garrus loves to talk about how much he loves committing crimes to... Stop crime??? It's bizarre I always got the impression he was supposed to be like a bro character, like a varric, but he's straight up unhinged lol. Every time Kaidan opens his mouth I just hear Carth Onasi. Haven't met my love interest with the blue tiddies yet

@obiwanobi hi!! I saw your tags and wanted to type you out a response! It was gonna be short LOL.
So - why I dislike the Mandalorian culture (and thus shows and arcs focusing on them/Mando characters). I dislike them for the exact reasons you've pointed out in your tags!
Note: this isn't hate! i'm really happy people like what they like and I think it's awesome! Mandalorians just are not my personal favs.
1) I find all of their endless wars and fighting and little bad-blood clan fights very boring and borish. I don't like any media that has that as the backbone - it's dull and unfulfilling to me. Game of Thrones, Viking shows, Medieval shit... no. It's the competitiveness that I find very distasteful and dull. Vying for territory and honor stuff? Puts me to sleep. I think find the characters to be like... simple and unlikeable. It's why I greatly prefer stories about the Jedi, the monks like Chirrut, characters like Kanan, or conflicted characters like Anakin who struggle to do good but have a heavy conscience (despite evil deeds). When Vader does smth bad you know Anakin is inside paying for it - that's part of why it's so gleeful to watch him do bad stuff. He never really gets away with it. The Mandalorians on the other hand glorify violence and death and I think it's ugly and frankly I hate watching it. Not my cup of tea.
2) I find weapons repulsive and agree with Obi-wan "how uncivilized". The Jedi saber & how long it takes to properly master is much more my area. Or say, Han who uses a blaster as a failsafe. The Mandos: A culture that glamorizes, or worse, diefies weapons ("Weapons are my religion") I truly find disgusting. It reminds me very much of modern-day conservative USA and I am not at all surprised the show is...very popular for this reason. Again? Not my cup of tea.
3) I LOVE SATINE KRYZE! I think she was the only decent Mandalorian, a true hero, one of the coolest & bravest characters in Star Wars, and the perfect never-would-have-worked-between-us for Obi-wan! Can you see Obi-wan, man of righteous morals and service living alongside warsome Mandalorians, even if he abandoned his life's calling for Satine? HELL no. He loved Satine because she had a voice and literally unheard of bravery in the face of her culture's toxic traits. Obi-wan would've keeled over from boredom and his eyes would've rolled so far back in his head he would've lost them every time Whoever The Fuck from Clan Scalpthem threw another brick through their window or challenged someone to the zillionth duel that week (can't he just read a chapter in his book???) He and Satine were FAR TOO alike and made a great We Respect Each Other Too Much To Do This dynamic while staying true to themselves so hard they had to genuinely walk away & and prioritize themselves. Damn. That's cool.
4) I feel the IRL obsession/phenomenon with the Mandalorian comes down to two things imo - ppl who like Baby Yoda/Dad Mando (valid), and otherwise its fans who are weapons-obsessed toxic dudebros who stomp and cry about everything else and then piss themselves with joy whenever ppl are getting mindlessly gutted on screen. It's why I feel Mando is so popular and other media such as TBOBF (he's a good man, sworn off senseless violence), OWK (introspective show based on emotional and psychological connection btw Obi and Ani), TLJ & Rey in general (a woman with feelings & power) gets shit on by dudebro Star Wars fans and they salivate over Mando.
Don't get me wrong! I think Din is a good character! I like watching him & the show! I find his religious arc that competes with something he discovers is just as important to him (Grogu) very compelling and sweet honestly! I enjoy his timidness and chivalry compared to the other Mandos who are not at all as noble as he is. I enjoy the tragedy of obviously him eventually dying for Grogu/Grogu outliving him by hundreds of years - it's great! But Mandalorians in general? No.
Do I think the show is the best written or filmed? No. I don't like Mandalore or their culture. I find them extremely unlikeable, and I don't like the really transparent worship of the show by the cismen gatekeeping fans whose senselessly and grossly loudly complain about literally everything else for NO reason.
Like sure - you don't have to like stuff! But stop screaming over everyone else, and stop ruining things for others.
I see sooo many SW articles about non-Mando shows like "this show is pointless" "this arc is pointless" "exploring this period is pointless" "why can't this be more like the Mandalorian" "this isn't good" like..... ok.... TO YOU?? but there are a TON of other people who are actual FANS of Star Wars and want to see their favs from the movies do ANYTHING.
That IS the point of the other shows.
So yeah, lol, my mix of reasons for finding Mandalorians and their culture extremely annoying. Legit though: No hate if you like them! It's all cool. Everyone likes diff stuff for diff reasons and I completely respect that.

This is more of a theory than anything, but does anyone else kinda get the overall feeling that Mando was so at the front of tbobf because Disney wanted to force all the casual fans to consume other media? This is coming from someone who loves the mandalorian to death, but the whole time I watched Boba I couldn't help but think "people who don't watch this won't know what's going on in s3 of Mando..."
Boba really deserved his own show with the spotlight totally on him because he's kickass and could've been given so much depth/respect. I still 100% think Mando should be in it, but we spent 2 episodes on him in a 7 episode show about someone else. Honestly the whole Jedi training part could've been saved for s3, just have the bounty/info collecting and ship building with Mando and that would've been enough exposition. And it wouldn't be too hard for mando-only fans to put together how that came to be when s3 rolls around.
I honestly feel for Temuera getting basically forgotten in his own show. Cause tbobf could have been the coolest re-hashing of a fan favorite character, if handled literally a splinter better. I don't know if Disney really is to blame for presumably forcing extra cameos to sell more views and shit, though they most likely are, but now that the series is finished I feel less than satisfied. There wasn't really a "resolution" I feel, yes they scared off the other gang and all that, but nothing really happened that felt dire or hopeless to make the ending feel spectacular.
Overall, I wish we could've gotten a unique, stylized, and daring story for Boba as a character, but with the modern industry popular IPs sell, Mando being one of them, which hindered the full potential of this show. There's numerous other little nitpicks i have but this was just a quick ramble I felt like sharing.
And to be clear, I still love the show, it was good imo, but just an underwhelming experience overall that could've been much more.

9, 16, 19, and 25 for the Star Wars Asks :)
Thank you for the asks!! <3
9. What food from Star Wars would you want to try?
Blue milk, maybe? Also ngl roasted porg looked pretty good ajakakakjs
16. Have you read any Star Wars books?
Yes! I have a pretty good stash of SW books. I’ve read the Rogue One novelization and its prologue, Catalyst, and right now I’m still making my way through the Thrawn books. I plan on reading the Heir to the Empire series soon, so I’m excited about that! I can’t believe I haven’t even read them yet considering I love the EU so much
19. What type of outfit would you wear?
I would most likely wear something similar to Jyn’s outfit. I love the dark color scheme and it overall looks really comfortable! (I would love to wear Cassian’s giant parka jacket as well sksjsk) Also, I would absolutely wear everything Lando and Qi’ra wore in Solo! Some of the best and most under appreciated costumes imo.
BUT, if I were a Jedi, I would 100% wear Satele Shan’s outfit. I honestly think it’s one of the coolest SW outfits ever!
Tumblr media
25. What type of ship would you fly?
Hmm, probably something similar to the Millennium Falcon or XS frieghter. I find them cozy and I would absolutely have them decorated as chic and extra like Lando did in Solo! haha
Tumblr media
I’ve always thought X-Wings and TIE fighters were cool as well!

Filoni at his best, he learned his lessons well from the Maker.’
This is the coolest scene with a Jedi ever IMO.

Just for the record, Obi-wan is not right about what he says at the end. He believes it, but it isn’t correct.

@thegeekylibrarian replied to your photo “Oh right, found these from a second-hand store today as well. I wonder...”
I'm trying to get into Legends bc Star Wars, and I kind of randomly decided to try Spectre of the Past. Aaand it's not as good as I want it to be. Should I give one of these a go instead?
I have no idea, to be honest -- I have little to no recollection of The New Jedi Order series (it’s been closer to twenty years), and these seem to be from the tail end of the series. Spectre of the Past is one of Zahn’s, right? I don’t remember it either, but maybe a good place to start would be his Thrawn trilogy. Unless it’s his writing that puts you off.
But don’t worry, the Legends/EU is a huge thing and you can basically just pick and choose the parts you like and discard the rest. Also, if you’re into games, I’d recommend Knights of the Old Republic. Especially the second game has one of the best and coolest SW stories ever, IMO.

Thanks for the salty ask! i’ll do the sw:tfa fandom since it’s the one we have in common :)
2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*
for tfa, i brotp all the otps and otp all the brotps (god this is such shippy vernacular tho)
in star wars as a whole, i gotta admit i never liked Han/Leia as a pairing (i really dont like Han, i know, blasphemy) so  i would have liked more Han/Leia as BrOTP instead of them as OTP i guess
13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character?
rey is not soft and made of sunshine and rainbows; you gotta be pretty ruthless to survive alone in jakku for so long
as a reylo shipper, there’s nothing i hate more than the possibility of kylo going back to the light for his love (ugh) for rey, this is such a cheap way to do a redemption arc, and would undermine the importance of rey’s growth as an independent character
kylo doesn’t necessarily need to have a redemption arc or be a victim of snoke’s abuse to be interesting or for reylo to work imo, he’s already pretty fascinating as a villain in training and member of the coolest family in the galaxy
poor jar jar binks is not a sith (leave meesa alone)
17. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…
not on the shippy stuff, but more about the tfa storyline, i would have liked if the story followed the RedLetterMedia alternative plot (from Mr Pinklett’s review)
basically with more leia, definitely less han, and more politics
the republic would be the one creating a death star and the first order is using Snoke to find a weapon to counter attack it (let’s say there would be some post WW1 historical setting with the Republic setting up a kind of Diktat against the planets that sided with the Empire then fostering resentment/rebellion from them)
Leia would have opposed the new death star plan which would have made her a pariah and the Vader reveal in Bloodlines would have been used to cast her out of the political sphere, but she’s still the General, but a wary one, who knows there might be going into an all out war again. She asks Luke and Han to go search for the same artefact Snoke and the First Order are looking for
I wouldn’t change much about kylo because the premise of his character and the snoke angle are really good.
Rey would have been an old student of Luke’s, another prodigy. She left the academy after the massacre and went back on jakku to find her parents. lives there working as a scavenger cause bb girl aint rich  until Finn lands on the planet and talks about finding Luke Skywalker. which would tie into their adventures. Rey would be 2 years older.
or Finn woudl have also been another old jedi student of Luke’s but made the choice to join the resistance and was in the same mission with Poe (jedi/human spy duo) and both escaped and landed on Jakku to get Rey. (as much as i like the stormtrooper angle, i really want finn to be a jedi)
this got longer than i intended
26. Most shippable character?
all the new kids are hella shippable, but mainly Rey and Kylo, ship them with everyone tbh
Salty Ask list (for those who want to play)

The Last Jedi Spoiler Filled Review Part 2
BIG spoils ahead. don’t click through!
The Resistance Half
TLJ is basically two movies running side by side, the resistance running and the force conflict, that only meet up near the very end. I am going to be discussing the resistance half of the story in this post.
First, lots of people seem to have a problem with the basic conceit of the space chase. I feel like caring too much about the details is against the spirit of star wars. Not that caring about the details is bad, but getting all bent out of shape because your world war 2 in space featuring samurai wizards didn’t have accurate physics is kinda silly. The chase was a good premise, and it worked well. Plus you can actually reconcile the chase with physics if you are willing to accept that some of what we saw in the film was a stylized rendition of the events. But that is for another post.
The character work of the resistance story line has good parts but is overall fairly weak. The first half of it is a super by the numbers mediocre star wars film, then it gets interesting. I think it was a major mistake to show so much in fighting, especially focused around poe who they were obviously setting up to be the next major commander after Leia stops being in charge. Poe comes off as reckless, quick to throw away lives, generally incompetent, and incapable of following orders. And it didn’t really improve all that much as the film went.
And the biggest problem is it was all completely unnecessary. You could have fixed the major issue with Poe without even changing the major structure of the film. I’ll talk about that when I make a post specifically about Poe.
Finn and Rose’s hunt for a master code breaker was just boring. That section of the film needed cutting down. Once they get to the star destroyer it is fun. The idea that they could hide b88 with an upside down trash can was just dumb and whoever decided that should get yelled at a bit. But the stuff with DJ betraying them, Rose and Finn nearly getting executed, all good. And holy crap, the fight with Phasma vs Finn was super good. Ultimately though, the fact that their fool’s errand got like 90% of the remaining resistance killed was so bad. Another big mistake in the film, IMO, especially having them go behind Holdo’s back. The theme of the resistance is “our main characters are bumbling idiots that get all their friends killed”. Not exactly inspiring confidence.
Admiral Holdo was super hot and her suicide light speed jump was the coolest special effect in all of star wars.
General Hux was fantastic in this movie, he is such a craven little incompetent coward. It was fantastic!
