TIG Movie Night!

Hi everyone! Based on your votes, we will be having our Thomas Ian Griffith movie marathon on Saturday, March 16th starting at around 7pm PST and going until one of us dies or something.

I have made a poll on Slido that lets you pick your top 3 favourite TIG movies, and you have until end of day next Sunday (March 10th) to cast your votes. We'll watch them in order of popularity - I'm imagining at least 3, but who knows how many we'll get to?

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT VOTING: The way this poll works is that your first choice will get 3 points, your second 2 points, and your third 1 point, so keep that in mind when you're plotting!

Sorry if your favourite movie isn't available as an option (unlikely, we have 14 to choose from!) - this is a list of the movies that @virgo-mess and I have been able to track down. It's time forrrrr weekly fic recs! These are my top 3 (to me) fics by some of my favorite authors, but please check their AO3/masterlists because they have so many amazing things to read and sometimes what I love most isn't what you might love most!

This week is transmasc Steve truther, Sleep Token cult leader, @steves-strapcollection/@gerrystamour! Gerry is probably singlehandedly responsible for the transmasculine Steve Harrington tag on AO3 and I couldn't be prouder of his hard work. He also is responsible for the creation of quite possibly the hottest OC to ever exist: our boyfriend, Tig (more below). Cannot put into words how special Ger is to me and this fandom as a whole. here i have found some peace of mind Rated E | 60,434 words I can't put into words how incredible this is. The moment Ger announced this fic, I was hooked like a damn fish. It's his pride and joy, his magnum opus, his gift to the world. One of many favorite lines: “Steve, you just sucked my soul out of my cock , don’t be fucking modest,” Eddie laughed, lifting his hands to dig the heels of his palms into his eyes. “We didn’t even make it to my bunk, Steve. i could be honest, i could be human Rated E | 48,581 words This fic. HOOOOOO BOY. This fic has it all. It has the angst, it has the soft boys, it has the idiots, it has the gentle tender nasty fuckin'. And its follow up properly introduces TIG. i can't tell where you end and where i start is the first time I read anything so focused on an OC, especially when it's Steve and an OC. Tig is built different. He is and always will be our boyfriend. And let me just say, for the record, he is even hotter than this fic gives him credit for. He's been even MORE developed since and god help us all. Favorite thing: Just the fact that we've been given an OC that is so incredible. He's inspired people to do more with OCs and I think it's great. Tig is my hero, and Ger is my hero for making him THE hottest fictional man to ever exist.

you're in the walls that i made with crosses and flames Rated E | 7,659 words This was a birthday fic for @legitcookie (who will be featured on a rec soon!) and I would venture to say it may be one of the most romantic tender fuckin' scenes I've read to date. Ger sent me the scene from Atonement and I...changed as a human. Favorite lines: “Stevie,” Eddie breathed, the corners of his mouth ticking upward in something close to a smile, even as the next fluttering blink had the tears barely clinging to his lashes falling down his cheeks.

And Steve was helpless, staring up at the beautiful man in his arms, and he had to blink his own tears away as they blurred his vision. “Eds,” he said, not even bothering to hide just how awed and overwhelmed he was to have Eddie like this again. Steve made a promise to himself that he would make up for every single day he made this man feel unwanted, unworthy, unloved.

part II. and you'r my cult leader

The next day she woke up with a horrible headache. But she couldn't rest at home, she awoke to a call from Tig. Church meeting.

Well, just what Y/N needed. From the moment she woke up, the only thing she could think about was the night before. The pain of it all, her betrayal, Chibs's betrayal. How he hit her. And how he took care of her after. But it didn't matter. If she ever had hopes for her and him, after last night, it was all gone.

Walking into the bathroom she looked in the mirror. She was taken aback by how bad she looked. Her eyes were bruised from her eyebrows down until her cheeks. Above her right eye there was a cut, which turned into a scab overnight. The same on her lips. She cleaned herself up and put clean stitches over it. Her whole face was swollen.

After the shower, she dried her hair, and whilst drinking a cup of tea and smoking a cigarette, she held a bag of frozen peas over her face, hoping to reduce the swelling. She didn't ever bother with makeup, knowing that her condition was far from concealable.

She put on a pair of skinny brown jeans, and a loose cream colored turtleneck blouse, put on her cut, and after completing her outfit with black boots, she was out the door.

She arrived just on time. Usually she is always early, but she didn't want to spend more time at the clubhouse today than it was necessary.

When she walked in, all of them were at the bar. Jax, Tig, Happy, Quinn, Bobby, Juice, Opie and Chibs. The prospects were cleaning up.

When they first saw her, everyone got quiet for a second.

"Holy shit." Jax exclaimed "Who did this to you?"

"Girl, are you okay?" asked Tig, and he quickly walked up to her and held Y/N's face gently in his hands.

"Yes Tigger. I'm okay guys. This was some personal stuff, there is nothing to worry about." She tried to sound as convincing and confident as she could.

"That is certainly a thing we should be worried about" said Bobby.

"The person who did this to you is an animal. That is all that I'm saying." Quinn spoke. Even Happy looked concerned.

Opie and Juice didn't say anything but were very conflicted. Opie hugged her shoulders as they went in to the Table.

Chibs haven't said a word. He didn't even look her in the eye.

"So, before we talk about what is on our plate with the Mayans, Y/N, you have to tell us what happened. Who hurt you?" Jax asked.

They all nodded and turned to her.

"This was personal business, and I do not wish to tell you just now. I can't tell you, trust me." She looked Jax straight in the eye, with a knowing look. At first Jax just stared at her, but after some monent, she could see that he finally understood what happened. After all, Jax and Chibs were the only one knowing about the ratting. Jax glanced at Chibs who was continuously staring at a specific part of the table in front of him. He then looked back at Jax, and the President understood everything.

"Fine. I respect that Y/N."

"But that is not okay? Somebody hurt her. Who was it? A lover maybe?" Tig guessed.

"He is right, we have to protect her" Juice added.

Y/N chuckled at Juice's suggestion that she needs protection, but smiled at him. She loved Juice, he was so cute, like a little brother to her.

"If pres said to leave it, leave it." Chibs finally looked up and at Y/N. His voice was strict.

After that, the subject changes to Alvarez getting into the Diosa business. They all voted aye for allowing the mexican to buy out Nero's part.

"And guys, I have some good news. We will have a big party tonight. We are all set, things going okay for now. Everyone, wind down, have fun." Jax said and hit the table with the gavel.

Y/N didn't want to spend her time at the clubhouse. She almost immediately got up, and left.

Honestly, the only thing Y/N wanted was to lay in her bed, eat some ice cream, watch a movie and fall asleep. Luckily, there was no more club business for that day, so she went to the grocery store before heading home, where she bought some frozen pizzas, and ice cream. She rode home and was all set for the day.

She took another shower. There was something about feeling clean. She put on a new set of baby pink pyjamas, and crawled into her bed. She got overwhelmed by the tv selection, and after finding nothing she was in the mood for, she started watching a documentary about cheetahs.

She tried her best to pay attention to the hunting method of the animals, or her ice cream, or anything which was not Chibs, but she couldn't. She never wanted to see him again. At the same time all she wanted was him.

When she finished her sweets and put the spoon in the dishwasher, she heard knocking.

She froze. She didn't expect anyone. Her gun was in her bedroom, and her semi was near the front entrance of the house on the coat hanger.

By the time she thought of a solution, it didn't matter.

"Aye, it's me girl. Let me in, I want to talk to ya." It was Chibs. Y/N felt like her heart skipped a beat.

She walked up to the front door.

"What do you want?" She spoke softly, just loud enough for the man outside to hear.

"Let me in. I just want to check up on you." She couldn't figure out Chibs's intentions. It dawned on her, that she was scared. Scared of her friend, brother... She felt incredibly weak and bitter.

"Y/N?"

"I'm scared." That was her response.

------------Chibs' POV----------

"I'm scared." Her voice was so weak, so soft, he could hear the fear and it crushed him. She was everything. The most amazing, interesting, caring and smart women he has ever known. She made a mistake, she had to pay. Or maybe he was too harsh?

He felt as if his heart was sinking to the deepest void.

"Please sweetheart. Let me in, I am not here to hurt you. I just want to..." But what did he want? Himself didn't even know. "I just want to see you."

The door slowly, very slowly opened. Her small frame seemed even smaller now. Barefoot, with her pink pyjamas she was like a little girl. Only little girls don't have their faced wrecked by big bad bikers.

Chibs walked into the house. When he heard the door close behind him, he straight up walked up to Y/N who instantly stepped back until her back hit the wall.

"Don't." He said and embraced her in his arms. At first she froze but then put her arms around him. She smelled like fresh bodywash, clean bedsheets and candy. She was so pure at that moment.

He smelled like tobacco, gasoline and dirt. His strong arms somehow calmed Y/N down.

"I'm here." She said.

"And so am I. I am sorry, I shouldn't have done this to you."

"No, if you haven't done this, maybe somebody else would've done even worse. I could be dead, Chibs. For what I've done."

He didn't reply. Instead, he picked her up, initially in bridal style, but she eagerly put her legs around his waist.

They looked each other in the eye, and then Y/N caressed Chibs's glasgow smile.

"Take me to bed."

3RD POV: you had recently given birth to your 2 week old baby girl, Jade. you were resting your eyes as your sleeping daughter was held in your arms. you tried so hard to sleep but it was either jade crying or paranoia keeping you awake. you heard the door open and voices fill the room before a loud shush quieted them. kai and everyone else stood before you, watching you hold your daughter. "you're dismissed" kai spoke in his regular plain voice. everyone exited the room except him. "hey" kai whispered as he approached the couch. you hummed as you held jade closer to your body. he knelt down and pet your head. he knows your completely drained from your mother duties. he honestly felt a bit of sorrow for you since you weren't sleeping at all anymore. it was really concerning to him. you and his daughter were his pride and joy. he would do anything to ensure your safety. "hey sweetheart" kai said focusing his attention to his sleeping daughter. he placed a small kiss on her forehead. "kai...?" you asked peeking open your eyes. "yeah?" he responded "is jade ok? is she still asleep?" you said with your eyes closed. "yeah...dont worry about her..." kai said with a smile. "how long are you going to keep doing this..." you said cuddling jade closer to you "what? keep doing what" kai asked. "y'know...the cult shit...im tired of constantly being put in danger" you said peeking open your eyes. "im doing this to keep you safe...to help us...are you not grateful for the work im putting in for you? the work im putting in to keep my family safe? the SHIT i do to make you happy!? HUH" he shouted. "kai please dont yell" you said waking up fully. "i never said that...its just im really scared cause...im worried about you too...i dont want you to get hurt or die doing some crazy shit! night of 100 tates? seriously kai! when you did that i was scared for my life too! i was scared you were going to kill me cause i was pregnant! i was scared you would get caught and go to prison! and im scared about the fact you talk to yourself! you scare me!" you cried out. your daughter woke up and began to look around. "oh really!? really?! i am perfectly fine! you are fine! i do this for you! for my daughter! for my job!" kai shouted. "KILLING PEOPLE ISNT A JOB KAI ANDERSON" you shouted. you stood up with jade and left the room. she was quietly crying now. you went upstairs to your shared room and grabbed the knife from under your mattress. kai kept it there for safety. you ran into the bathroom and slammed the door and locked it. you pressed your feet against the door as hard as you could. you heard kai chase you up the stairs and into the room. "open this door right fucking now" he said pulling on the door handle. you were scared. you cried with your daughter as you embraced her. you wrapped around her and sobbed. you were scared of your own husband. the man you trusted with every cell in your body to take care of your daughter and you, is banging on the door telling you to open it or he'll hurt you. "Y/N i'll bust this door down and fucking beat you! open it right now" he ordered. you pressed with your feet harder. you were shaking. you worried for you and your daughters lives at that point since kai was on the verge of insanity. you and jade were basically the only thing keeping him from going mad. you and jade were that tiny piece. next thing you know the door flew open and kai stood there. he was pissed off. but his expression changed when he saw you and your daughter sobbing. you were shaking like crazy and you had your daughter wrapped around you tighter than ever. you were hyperventilating like hell. you weren't able to breathe at all. you held the knife in your hands with a tight grip. "Y/N...oh..oh...god...i-" tears began to form in his eyes. his voice shook. "im so sorry..." he said. he reached out for you but you backed away. tears streamed down his face. "Y/N please im sorry" he cried. you gripped the knife tighter. you weren't going to risk your child getting hurt. kai sat on the floor across from you.

Halloween SOA Day 29: Scary/Halloween Movie Night

Happy: He is going for psychological thrillers like Silent Hill, Silence of The Lambs, Knock Knock, and Us. He loves watching someones mind unravel and laughs more than he probably should.

Tig: He enjoys Zombie movies and horror movies on the comedy side such as 28 Days Later, Jennifers Body, The Dead Dont Die and Rubber.

Juice: Is a Halloween/Scary Movie fanatic. He has all the cult classics like Rocky Horror. His favorites are Scream and anything Tim Burton. Wants nothing more than to be cuddles up with you to help you be less scared.

Half-Sack- Is into slasher movies like Halloween.

Chibs: Enjoys ones that have some truth to them and more paranormal related. His go to movies are Annabelle, Amityville Horror and the Exorcism of Emily Rose.

The cross as vampire repellent has become so much a part of the Dracula legend that Roman Polanski saw fit to spoof it in The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967). Threatened with a crucifix, a vampire reveals himself as Jewish: “Oy vey, have you got the wrong vampire.” But Patrick Lussier doubles down on the Christian mythology in Dracula 2000: His vampire isn't threatened by the cross so much as he hates it. It turns out that Dracula is really the biblical Judas Iscariot, who when the rope broke as he tried to commit suicide after betraying Christ, was condemned to walk the Earth for eternity as one of the undead. Nobody else knows this except Abraham Van Helsing, who is still alive 103 years after Bram Stoker fictionalized his exploits. (In the film, Van Helsing dismisses Stoker as just a drunken Irish writer.) In 2000 he is posing as Van Helsing's grandson, the owner of Carfax Antiquities in London. It seems he kept himself alive after capturing Dracula and imprisoning him in a silver casket filled with leeches that feast on Judas/Dracula's blood. Somehow Van Helsing harvests the occasional leech from the casket and injects himself with that blood to keep himself alive. Unfortunately, this twist in the Dracula legend -- borrowed from the legend of the Wandering Jew -- is about all Dracula 2000 has going for it. Gerard Butler is not a particularly compelling Dracula, and Christopher Plummer doesn't invest much of his considerable talent in playing Van Helsing. Jonny Lee Miller, as Van Helsing's assistant, seems more confused than dashing in the romantic lead, and strikes no sparks with Justine Waddell, who turns out to be Van Helsing's estranged daughter. It was a critical and commercial flop, though there are those who regard it as underrated, so it may some day re-emerge, like Dracula himself, as a cult film.

I do think it's interesting how Zack Snyder learned an actor in his basically finished zombie movie was a piece of shit predator and instantly replaced the guy with hot lesbian Tig Notaro, but the DCEU without him thought they could get the world to forget that Ezra Miller literally kidnapped people and tried to start a cult and just let them lead an entire blockbuster movie without a single downside whatsoever 😪

1. Thomas Ian Griffith was severely underrated as an actor and as a martial artist/stuntman and that ought to be rectified

2. Thomas Ian Griffith is doing Cobra Kai, which means his other fascinating specimen is being enjoyed, aka The Karate Kid Part Three -- most people tend to agree that he did a stellar job doing Exactly what he was meant to in that movie... time to give a look at his other projects to see what else he's done well in (and written)

3. It's a movie that's about vigilantism, but like... hilarious. I have no idea what's intentional and what's not, but even the title "Excessive Force" is so "what was Die Hard already taken" (oh yeah, it was) -- there's cop propaganda and then there's whatever the hell this is, like a mix of affection for the genre of vigilante justice + martial arts movies + so over the top that it's actually a comedy and ought to be enjoyed for the satirical overtones

(I never want to know if this movie was meant to be serious -- the point is that it's Cult Trash at its finest)

4. It's better than Carpenter's Vampires fight me on that, but it's the name of Carpenter that pushes the cultness, not TIGs (even though it should, he's always breaking his back to carry movies and he was great in Vampires too)

5. Speaking of names, and the main reason I don't understand why this hasn't been a cult film all along: James Earl Jones and Tony Todd! In The Same Movie! Two of the smoothest voices ever to speak on this earth! What I???? Why isn't this movie drooled over by the Enthusiasts of Filmé??????

6. James Earl Jones and Tony Todd have one scene with each other and it's like it turns the whole movie into another genre for a hot second -- a movie that's not an entertaining vigilante martial arts hybrid, but practically feels like a masterclass of Narrative

7. Seriously how did they get attached to this project??? I Don't Care, I'm just happy that they're in it!

8. TIG is sexy in it -- this is bias, but he also had severely underappreciated sex appeal (no longer underappreciated) and we all know the girls, gays, and "look at his Abs bro" straight-guys want sex appeal in their fucked up vigilante lead!

My point is this film shouldn't be so damn difficult to find online, it oughta be talked about on dorky film blogs (affectionate)
