Tag Game: Scenes I will never forget
Inspired by 🐠 Dori's post, we are starting a tag game because we are curious what scenes would be on everyone else's list.
Rules: Share 5-10 scenes you can't forget. Not your favorites, the ones that got stuck in your brain for any reason.
Explain if you want to, or don't, your choice. We chose to stick with Asian dramas. Don't like the rules? Make up your own. We won't judge. And consider yourself tagged if you wanna play. Just please tag us to we can see your list!
Tumblr media
🐈Kat: I broke my own rules (I am a rebel like that) and ended up picking 10 series, though sometimes had a few scenes from the series. Also, I very intentionally did not pick any scenes 🐠 did, just for funsies.
Love Between Fairy and Devil
This series has imprinted on me, because it hard launched a pretty intense hyperfixation. I may have binged this in an embarrassingly short amount of time. I then proceeded to rewatch it more times than I will admit back to back. There are way too many scenes in this series that live on in my head. For simplicity, I give you a scene in episode 9 where I knew for certain that I was going to love Dongfang Qing Cang. Daddy says, “How dare you hurt my woman.” Then BAM, f-ing black smoke wings. Hot damn.
Tumblr media
Crash Landing on You
This whole series has stayed with me. Not sure I will ever watch it again. It was really freaking good, but it hurt. I am not sure I have it in me to let it hurt me that way again. My mind comes back to episode 12 a lot, as the threads in this episode are all interwoven. The parallel between what Se Ri says to her mother, and what Jeong Hyeok says to her… just damn.
“Next year, and the one after that, and even the one after that will all be good because I’ll be thinking about you. I’ll be grateful that you were born into this world. I’ll be grateful that the person I love is still breathing. That’s why your birthday will always be a good day.”
Tumblr media
Fireworks of my Heart
In a similar vein, there is a scene in episode 28 of Fireworks of my Heart when Song Yan is talking to Meng Yan Chen outside Xu Qin’s condo that lives in my head. Meng Yan Chen is telling Song Yan that he is not good enough for Xu Qin.
“She has insomnia. She needs sleeping pills to fall asleep. Did you know that? You said this neighborhood is good. It really is. The floor is good too. It’s very high. Meng Yan Chen, look up. Given her previous state, do you think one day, she’d jump from above? None of your family has the right to say I don’t deserve her.”
I had spent the whole series up to this point feeling like there was a brittleness to Xu Qin, and I kept expecting her to make some sort of suicidal gesture. But I also thought I might be being over-dramatic, because there was nothing explicitly stated in the script before this. In that moment Song Yan demonstrated once again how he is the only one who really SEES her. With her adopted family she has to be a fragile doll, not living, but with Song Yan she can be her "imperfect" self and actually LIVE. And this scene perfectly embodies all of that.
Tumblr media
Jack & Joker: U Steal my Heart!
Since 🐠 already brought up the non-wedding in the special episode, I'll choose the scene from the series that hit me the hardest. I can never forget Joker at the hospital after Toiting is hurt. Watching him break, the overwhelming shame and self hatred he feels, all his ugly crying and self-harming behaviors (tearing at his hair, hitting himself); and then Jack's utter devastation and rage. It was so incredibly well done.
Tumblr media
I Told Sunset About You / I Promised You the Moon
I’m counting this as one extended series, as it two parts of a bigger story. This story hit me in unhealthy ways. 🐠 was the bestest of besties and let me drone on and on about this series in-depth. Despite the fact that at the time she had no intention of watching it, had no interest in or care about the series, she just knew this was knocking around in my head and I needed to talk it out. I want to hate this series. I hate how Teh hurts Oh-aew repeatedly, even if it isn't malicious in nature, while on his journey of self-discovery and growth. Oh-aew is so honest and clear about his emotions, he loves Teh and never questioned that. Teh on the other hand, navigating his own complicated emotions and his fears, wounds Oh-aew in the process. I want something and someone better for Oh-aew. Yet at the same time I know how much he loves Teh, and ultimately how much Teh truly loves Oh-aew, and I get that emotions are complicated and messy. This series hurt me a lot and made me wallow in it. But it did it so well I couldn’t walk away and I still carry it with me.
The scene in ITSAY that is the loudest in my head, is the back scratching/sniffing scene. That was the most confusing and uncomfortably hot scene. Billkin and PP Krit could teach a master class in telegraphing desire with your body. I think seeing their desire for each other, how Oh-aew surrenders and Teh can't seem to control himself as he get's lost in Oh-aew is what makes this scene so hot.
Tumblr media
The scene I keep coming back to in IPYTM is the breakup scene. Watching Oh-aew watching Teh who is watching Jai and having all the pieces come together in a way that cannot be ignored or denied, and the devastation on Oh-aew face has left a mark on me. The following argument, watching Oh-aew fall apart and Teh facing the reality of losing Oh-aew burns.
Tumblr media
Why R U ? (Thailand)
OMG. Zee is a master at crying, and Saint is no slouch. Technically two scenes, but all related, so I'm leaning into it. First, in episode 11 (damn episode 11 curse!). Tutor begging Fighter to let him go, saying it's because he’s tired and hurting, and that moment where Fighter realizes he will give Tutor anything… so he let's go.
Tumblr media
Then came the salt in the wound in episode 12, when Tutor continues his campaign to make Fighter hate him. The desperate and angry kissing, Tutor remembering his why and pulling it all in and just laying there on the bed, before unleashing all the sneering disdain with an “are you satisfied.” Followed by Fighter breaking and BEGGING and Tutor being cold and deliberately cruel, throwing metaphorical rocks to make Fighter leave. Watching the character Fighter fall apart is really powerful, but honestly, there is something about watching Zee as an actor falling apart in any role that just does something to my feelings.

My Stand In
This is another series where I couldn’t pick just one scene. I have a questionably unhealthy love for Ming. I love a good toxic obsessive love trope. Soooo many dopamine sprinkles. Om nom nom. Ahem.
First, THE ICONIC BACK SCENE. This scene is so incredible for me because in that moment we have Ming, who knows he was in love with Joe, was utterly devastated over Joe's loss, and is living his life with the goal of finding Joe. He is eaten up with guilt- had already fallen out of “love” with Tong, and blames Tong as much as himself for what they did to Joe. Then he learns that the very thing he loved about Tong was never Tong, it was in fact, Joe. Who he had mistreated and lost due to his "love" of Tong. The apology, Ming's devastation and crying, and the way he clings to Joe with no care for anyone else in the room. So freaking good.
Tumblr media
Joe losing it at the funeral. Seeing him grieving his old life, attending his own funeral, and then confronting Ming. It hurt so good.
Tumblr media
And finally, when Ming- and please know it hurts me a little to phrase it this way, makes love to Joe for the first time. This scene was choreographed so well to relay how it was different. We have Ming prioritizing Joe’s pleasure, and while Ming has A THING for backs, the slight shift in positioning and Ming gazing at Joe’s face intensely are ways he is communicating to Joe that it is different this time. He is making it clear that he is with Joe, wants to be with Joe, loves Joe, and is clearly communicating that in his actions throughout this whole scene.
Tumblr media
Love in the Air
I’m sure this scene may live in a lot of people’s heads for a variety of reasons. For me, there is the context of this being the first Thai BL I watched. Look, I am a queer American woman in my 40s - I have SEEN SOME THINGS. My mass consumption of live-action Asian dramas started with C-Dramas, many of those I watched barely register on the spice scale. While the K and J dramas I had consumed have a wider spice range, a lot of the (specifically Asian) BL content I had consumed prior to watching LITA had not prepared me for episode 6. Hell, the first NC scene and all the make outs hadn’t prepared me for this scene. I literally sent 🐠 something along the lines of “Holy guacamole Dori. I started this series I kept seeing recommended and there is a f-ing tongue lick.” And then I sent her a screenshot- followed by a gif - because words could not adequately convey what I saw.
Tumblr media
4 Minutes
Which then leads me to 4 minutes (because you know that series has to make it on at least 2/3 of my lists for REASONS). Let’s just say, if LITA’s tongue lick has carved itself into my memory bank, then 4 Minutes - WHICH HAS SET THE CURVE ON OUR SPICE SCALE - is going to be there too. I want to say it’s a Bible scene, and yes, many of his scenes stay with me (for reasons… RESPECTFUL reasons). But for this list, it was Tonkla all the way, because bro went all the damn way and needed a TOWEL. Enough said.
Tumblr media
Bed Friend
Since apparently we’re on the subject of spicy scenes, I will wrap up this list with Bedfriends and Uea in that damn cat-cosplay. Do there need to even be words about this? Because I think this gif says it all.
Tumblr media
We showed your ours.... tag, you're it.
No pressure tag for people we think might like to play: @my-rose-tinted-glasses @hughungrybear @nabi-unveiled @respectthepetty @heretherebedork @lurkingshan @pointlesscandies @iguessitsjustme

Ok I’ve been trying to figure out how many (weather, not TV, I KNOW IT’S 7 AND A MOVIE) seasons Venture Bros happens over (in-universe) totally not for fanfic and oc reasons or to procrastinate from uni work
I measured this over weather seasons, here are my notes which are highly likely to be incorrect but I’m trying to figure this out while having a HUGE migrane and living in my loud asf house, so if anyone with a calmer setting and a less cluttered brain than mine can add to this please do.
Season 1 happens during autumn through to winter as butterflies go to Mexico around autumn and you got the xmas special, which I know is a dream and dubious when it comes to canon but winter comes after autumn so logically…
The weather gets better in seasons 2 through 3 so I think it’s going into spring? I don’t know how long the clone slugs are being ‘warmed up’ for but this is giving me a migraine as is
Season 3 is springtime because as I mentionned better weather and the monarchs recently got married before this season and 3 begins RIGHT after 2 and spring is big for weddings I think? The boys mention at this point they are 16 going into 17 early in S3.
Season 4 happens through spring/summer as the boys graduate and prom happens. As for the boy’s ages they should be around 17/18 at this point? Their ‘clone birthday’ in s2 really is overcomplicating this and annoying me going to kill Rusty for this I think
This takes us neatly to season 5 which I think cycles through seasons: the halloween episode takes place in the middle of episode 1 and that episode takes place over 3 months of autumn to winter (it snows in the end then again it is colorado). I think S5 ends on a summer as we go into S5 (idk how much time passes between devil’s grip and gargantua 2)
Season 6 starts with the Ventures going to New York and Dean enrolls for the fall semester at the uni so we can assume it’s summer going into autumn. In the beginning and it’s autumn by the time Dean starts Also Dean getting into uni now implies he and Hank are 18/19 at this point
Season 7 starts with the thanksgiving parade so we’re in autumn, S7 is relatively short (I’m not bitter except I am) so it either ends still on autumn or in winter
The movie is I think happening over winter in NYC judging by the clothes 21 and The Monarch are wearing but then again it looks sunnier in Colorado and I do not remember if they mention how long Hank had been away for so it could be winter going into spring for all I know

man I've tried writing this post like 3 different times b/c how the hell do I explain Triage the gay groundhogs day time loop romance mission from a Literal Angel set to the dance pop Lady Gaga track of an organ trafficking hospital factory?
Anyway Tin the protagonist has the energy of one of those fluffy slightly mangled looking older cats that would yowl TWAS I WHO SET THE HOUSE ABLAZE and bites the hand of everyone except his 5 chosen humans
Forget the uni BLs you've seen before because baby Tin is stuck in a thoroughly exhausting gay version of groundhogs day crossing over with an episode of house without the ironic homophobia set in the greys anatomy hospital all to save his Influencer Love Interest from increasingly concerning deaths with the power of having absolutely zero lying skills and negative rizz like Tom Holland levels no rizz ass having, which Zendaya's his Influencer love interest ANYWAY through the sheer power of romantic hyper fixation and being a top tier level 98 slow burn obsessed weirdo with a skill buff of STARE LONGINGLY that usually only appears in accidental gay kdramas like Devil Judge or Hannibal
In the end the day is saved with some the tongue action cheat codes that cure time loop amnesia so they can return everybody's kidneys back to their rightful owners so the hospital can just be a hospital instead of an organ trafficking factory for the chicken soup soul
oh and Techno from Tharntype is here too

Lunchtime with Smosh podcast LORE
so i've done the liberty of listening to the first episode of the Lunchtime with Smosh podcast and compiling all the "lore" we've learned during this episode. i watched it a total of three times bc i loved it so much and i was bored so i decided to do this.
(i did not include lore that they have already previously talked about in other videos.)
ANTHONY:
has never had a deviled egg
would ask if he could come with ian on his walks
has not used shampoo in 4 years but will use it if his hair gets actually dirty; his dandruff decreased when he stopped using shampoo and his hair used to be really dry
lately has been washing his foot first bc of a new tattoo
washes his pits and bits first in the shower (after conditioning his hair)
wishes chester bennington from linkin park didn't die
thinks ian would stop world war ii soon after it started (the invasion of poland)
likes socializing only if it's one on one where they can have deeper conversations
doesn't like small talk, thinks it's peaceful when no one sits next to him at lunch
was the most angry with ian when they were coming back from their high school grad night. they were on a bus while anthony was sleeping and ian clapped and screamed in his face. anthony yelled "WHAT THE FUCK! STOP!" and was aggressive to ian. he later felt bad about it but was too embarrassed to admit it to ian.
would tell a friend if they had bad breath but not an acquaintance
one of his icks is when he's hanging out with someone and the person is uncomfortable with silence so they try and force small talk with him
likes being alone with someone else's presence; if he can sit in silence with them that's how he knows they can vibe together
starts an internal clock and waits 5 minutes before eating the last piece of food
another ick is when people gossip; his brain shuts down and he goes quiet; feels like gossip is judging other people for no reason (however he will occasionally join in and laugh at what other people are gossiping about)
his top four favorite movies are arrival, home alone, home alone 2, and our universe on netflix, which is not a movie
IAN:
thinks running so much back then made him stupid. he'd be at anthony's house while they were writing smosh sketches and be tired all the time. he'd pace around anthony's room being restless and would say "i didn't run today, i got too much energy"
loves taking walks around his neighborhood and look at flowers; is a power-walker and thinks his gait is "off" when he walks slowly
washes his feet in the shower bc his feet are gross
thinks anthony has a "hot cousin"
wishes anthony bourdain didn't die
farts freely at disneyland and will not blame someone else if they fart bc it's part of life
would cheer anthony up with a long hug; doesn't think complimenting him on his posture or telling him a cum joke would cheer him up
would stop the challenger explosion so that there'd be another one where big bird can be in and there's a chance the second one could explode
makes coffee and talks to six people first thing in the morning (according to anthony)
"i like people"; thinks people hate him if he doesn't talk to them; thinks people don't sit next to him on planes bc he looks like a shooter
people didn't sit next to him at school and people don't sit next to him at lunch at smosh unless he's the one that joins them at the table
worst fear is having bad breath; only acquaintances have had bad breath and wonders if that's the reason they never became friends
is uncomfortable with silence and will talk to avoid it during dates
one of his icks is when he goes out to eat with someone and they don't venmo him for the food; the person has been demoted to acquaintance and that them not venmoing for food has been a pattern; the dishonesty bothers him more than the money
another ick is when people leave the last piece of food on the plate bc they're too polite to be the one to finish it
another ick is when anthony doesn't want to gossip
letterboxd top four is city of god, spaceballs, RRR, and they came together; has rated 988 movies on letterboxd

Been a BIT since speaking about my op journey I'm in the middle of Luffy vs Katakuri (Luffy and Brulee are in Nut Island)
WHOLE CAKE??? PEAK??? Literally everyone told me it gets peaker here in whole cake i didn't believe them but??? What the the fuck???? Holy shit???? This arc is actually insane
Luffy vs Sanji might be the best fight and episode and scene i was sobbing holy shit? I was a bit iffy if Sanji was still my favorite since his writing has been very... questionable after Enies Lobby (although he was pretty good in Punk Hazard and Dressrosa!) but I think this arc solidified him as possibly one of my top 5 characters ever
Nami was WILDING and good for her this is how i expected her second arc to go with her probably being the second strongest straw hat when Sanji was done out of the group who sent to wci. Her reaction to the fight was prefect and her casually turning like every homie into her servant was awesome? And also I'm pretty sure she's the first straw hat to defeat a emperor crew member against Brulee so! That's my queen
Brook my goat the MVP he got all the Ponegliffs and broke the mother carmel photo 🙏 plus fought big mom and didn't do any damage to her but hey he survived a good while against her! He doesn't do that much besides that two things but those two things were like. The biggest things to happen that isn't related to the Sanji plotline
CHOPPER definitely the weakest out of the crew who went but he still played a good role capturing Brulee with Carrot and grouping everyone together!
This is a small moment but I loved how Sanji decided to leave saving the sunny to these two even though they're among the weaker members he had complete faith they'd win :))
SPEAKING OF SANJIII AGAIN his backstory? Fuck you Judge? Bless Sora and Reiju. I feel so bad for his brothers as much as they suck the didnt choose to be heartless. But it also makes Sanji even better like? Even though he hates Judge and his brothers he still wanted to save them just UGH I love him.
Luffy is classic greatness but this was the arc where i accepted that he is be top 5 protagonist. Him declaring he won't be pirate king without Sanji and his plan for the tea party. AND HIM ACTUALLY STARVING HIMSELF UNTIL SANJI CAME OUT? Plus him lying to his crew that he was fine in the mirror world just so they wouldn't worry UGHHH THATS MY FUCKING CAPTAIN I LOVE HIM
Pudding is sweet and I feel bad for her. Sanji being the only person to actually like her makes me so sad and the way she's still acting like she wants him dead. I want to hug her.
Big mom has lived up to the HYPE. She's so whimsical but that whimsy is also lowkey horrifying? And the way she got her devil fruit... has kinda concerned? What i gathered is she ate Mother Carmel and that's another way you can get devil fruit powers? (Which I'm assuming is how Blackbeard stole Whitebeard's DF...? By eating smth in him?)
Katakuri seems to be the main antagonist Luffy needs to defeat. He's alright, he's cool and his doughnut scene humanized him (I'm assuming like Pudding big mom found his face gross) alright I'm confused how his devil fruit isn't a logia like. It works exactly like a logia.
Brulee is kinda funny with how she's just constantly being tormented although
The rest of the big mom pirates are really boring though like usually one piece is good at making the antagonist crew memorable but most of them are just... There?
Hope kinda foreshadowed Smoothie, Oven, and the other two i can't remember their names as being big antagonists but all of them are not important besides Perospero (who should be dead)
SPEAKING OF DEATH- I doubt Pedro is dead but I guess we'll see when the arc is done! If he is actually dead then... wow. I wasn't super attached to him but his possible death would be fucking awesome?
Carrot is sweet, she's cute, but she feels a bit forced into the story. I feel bad for her though
The firetank pirates are cool i love bege he's a nice guy. Vito however? He's the BEST-RERO. Him fanboying over Germa 66 is so cute 😭 and the way he acts like a uncle to Pez when Chiffon gave him the baby. He's so precious if anything happens to him I'll kill myself.
LASTLY THE GOAT, KING, JIMBEI. Being reintroduced riding whatever and calming down big mom, realizing that if he did the wheel thing his crew would suffer so delaying leaving big mom, getting his crew to get the snails in the sea to help disguise the ship, the green room scene, rescuing nami and luffy, his prep talk to the crew mourning Pedro, and best of all him officially leaving during the tea party Yeah I think he's an S tier character.
This truly is peak and the best arc 😭 my only wish is that Zoro was here i KNOW he would've been as pissed as Luffy to see him give up on his dream.

quick rant — life is strange is such a beautiful representation of how there are no "good" or "bad" people, they're just people.
this is mainly (in my mind) shown through nathan. its so easy to hate him, but he won my heart just as easy. his character is so well written, i can talk about him for years — a broken boy from a broken home, searching for somebody, anybody to accept him and love him for who he is.
first, he's abused by his stuck up father, shunned by his entire family, and then is revealed to have multiple mental illnesses, that he has to take medication for, and is expressed as an embarassment, not just at home but at school too. nobody accepted him, nobody liked being around him besides victoria, rachel and samantha. samantha, being the only person to defend him and show him love and kindness, who claps for him and just him at the end of the play. then that ends, one way or another judging by the fact that samantha isnt a character in the original game and nathan seemingly just gives up on her when she unknowingly walks away from him at the end of before the storm. he spirals, becomes bitter and angry between games and is no longer the introverted, kind, quiet, nathan we see in before the storm. he's used, manipulated, (probably blackmailed) and forced to aid in drugging, kidnapping, and photographing girls. he "accidentally" (i have theories..) kills rachel, another one of his friends who genuinely treats him well enough to even have a picture of them together in her room. and then he has to bury her and live with the guilt of a closest friends death hanging above his head, which worsens when her missing posters are splayed across blackwell, and the entire town. he gets busted for the gun, gets busted for kates (attempted) suicide, gets beat up, has to live with knowing that jefferson is planning on kidnapping another one of his best friends, and then gets murdered.
characters like him (and finn) and discussions of "i feel bad for him but i still hate him" "i have a love hate relationship with him" are so silly to me because hes not necessarily a "bad" person or an "evil" character, he's just a person. of course, this does not at all excuse helping jefferson or killing rachel (i have my own theories on how it isnt as bad as it sounds on nathans part, but not really going into detail on that rn) but his voicemail to max really changes the perspective on everything (to me)
"max, it's.. it's nathan. i.. i just wanted to say.. i'm sorry. i didn't want to hurt kate or rachel, or.. i didn't want to hurt anybody. everybody.. used me. mr. jefferson.. is coming for me now. all this shit will be over soon. watch out max... he wants to hurt you next. sorry." (Life Is Strange: Episode 5: Polarized, heard while max is driving to the two whales diner)
a broken boy, from a broken home looking to be loved, and in the end he's tricked and manipulated, only to be killed by his one escape.
i love him; his writing is so beautiful. he isnt evil or good, there is no angel or devil on his shoulders, he's a person.
i will always defend him, i literally love nathan with my whole heart.

So I finally broke down and started to watch the Devil Judge because I kept seeing these amazing gif sets on my timeline.
And uh, I'm loving it. I dunno why K-drama and especially crime drama just HITS SO DIFFERENT than American crime drama. I think it's because we tended to talk down to our audiences and keep things basic because god forbid they cannot follow the plot.
Meanwhile K-drama is gonna throw 6 different plot threads at you and a Gordian knot you have to untangle. I'm on episode 5 now and yes, I 1000% see where the Yo-han/Ga-On nation is coming from. I see you and am definitely one of you.
And it's so easy to fall into the trope of older, more experienced and cynical rich man and his younger, less experienced and less worldly man who gets dragged home and NEVER LEAVES. Like a stray cat who decides he's going to adopt Yo-Han and Elijah. (Which is a tangent I could go off on entirely) But yeah, prime sugar daddy/sugar baby troperific territory.
But nope. Ga-On is just straight calling Yo-Han on his bullshit and rocking his world constantly with his sometimes super vicious but completely accurate reads on him and his behavior. I love he's a mean little shit at times and doesn't let Yo-Han completely bulldoze over him which would be super easy considering Yo-Han....well let's say he gets a little hands on at time. LOL He definitely uses physicality to intimidate and goad Ga-On on at times. (and teases at times to the point of that ain't even remotely how two heterosexual men act around one another. pffft)
So yeah it's refreshing that Ga-On is the one who has his shit SLIGHTLY more together and meanwhile Yo-Han is one bad mental health day away from snapping and having a total mental breakdown. And Ga-On is going to befriend him and force him into a place of healing even if he has to drag Yo-Han kicking and screaming along the way.
And yet they are both disasters just in different ways. Suffice it to say I'm really enjoying this show.

Let's start with a bang: Neil Gaiman.
We all know what happened. In case you don't, just know that he's been accused by about 5 women (that I know of) of abuse in various different degrees.
Just so you know I don't think he's totally innocent... BUT there are a few things that just don't make sense and my head is driving me nuts. Probably I've read too many detective novels and my brain tries to solve things as if it is some kind of a game.
If you can handle some level-headed cold-facts-kinda-conversation (with all the needed trigger warnings that this case requires) you may proceed to read. If not, well... keep on scrolling, why bother?
To be fair the only testimony that tickles my brain the wrong way is Scarlett's. It both fits and doesn't fit his (alleged) MO. And I would like to tell you why without any of you thinking that I'm trying to discredit her testimony because "you support a rapist bla, bla, bla"
The first thing that got me in the Vulture article, if I'm not wrong... I have read too much about this... is that one of the other women said that Gaiman doesn't use lube. Either because he doesn't like it, he likes to feel the pain of his partner, he's allergic... whatever... she made it clear that he doesn't use it, and this was the one that "dated him" so there was a level of comfort between them (AKA it was an established and repeated pattern during their time together).
And then comes Scarlett and talks about the kitchen episode where (allegedly) Gaiman used a stick of butter as lube when she said that she wouldn't do it "like that" (sans lube). Why would he be accomodating to her? What does he care? According to Scarlett's own testimony, Gaiman saw her as a slave and used and abused her whenever and however he wanted. She has the strongest and crudest testimony yet... and this detail just doesn't fit. If he had (has?) such desdain for her... he would've just done it without butter anyway.
Another thing related to this that just jumped into my brain one day because that's they way it works is that during the aftermath of the MeToo movement the story of how during the filming of The Last Tango in Paris the actress Maria Schneider wasn't properly told about a rape scene involving butter broke out and was all over the media.
With this in the back of my head... there is a possibility, even if it is a slim one... that said episode with Gaiman either didn't happened like that or didn't happened at all.
If I had to play Devil's advocate: we all know that she had some level of mental issues, reason why Palmer "took her in" offering her friendship and unpaid work. After whatever happened with Gaiman, she said that she googled "Neil Gaiman MeToo" so the possibility of her stumbling with this news at some point, reading it and somehow including it in her testimony is quite high. If it was intentional or not is not my call to decide. But it is possible.
Another thing that got my attention was that both Scarlett and Caroline brought up Gaiman's son. Caroline says that he wanted her to give him a handjob while the kid was sleeping. Plausible, many men are gross like that.
Scarlett also brings up Gaiman's son and makes him witness of 2 obscene scenes. Most likely she told Palmer about it... so why wasn't it brought up on the divorce?
It is also said on Vulture that Gaiman "bleed her (Palmer) dry" on the trial for their divorce. We know that Scarlett told probably everything to Palmer... why hasn't she used that ammo to win their child's custody and divorce? No judge on this planet would leave a child live with someone like that. It is the kind of golden piece of info that any lawyer prays for specially in a case like this.
And yes you can say "hey, it's absolutely terrible to weaponize something like that" and yes, it is... but lawyers aren't nice people*, especially if they try to win. They will use something like that to drag him to the floor. (*it is a general rule, don't take it personal. Some lawyers are honest but it is a reality that one has to be very willing to cut some throats -not literally, I hope- and stab some backs to become a "sucessful lawyer")
One could argue that given that Palmer didn't backed up Scarlett's testimony, that could be the reason why she chose not to use such a vital piece of information on her own gain. And this raises the question of what kind of mother preffers her child to live with an alleged sex-offender than with her? Even if Palmer is a disaster, my guess is that she cares for her kid on her own way... the custody battle is happening. Even if Gaiman found a way to buy the judge or something, had she made this information public would've been enough to secure the custody (and if you allow me to be cynic: to secure Child Support as well).
I do know that those on toxic and abusive relationships do bow down their heads and let the abuser run scots free... but more often than not, the break happens when children are on the line. Gaiman could have all the power and might in the marriage but a propper momma-bear would burn the world down to the ground to get their children back.
I don't want to flat out say that she's a bad mother but it is rather curious that she chose to protect Gaiman instead of her child considering that, at this point if we believe Vulture, he ruined her life. If there was any kind of deal like "keep quiet and I'll give you X" she wouldn't admit that she's broke because of the divorce and living back with her parents (even if it wasn't her who said it to the press but someone who knows her). She's getting nothing out of her "loyalty" to him, not even the divorce (by the way why is it taking so long? isn't it of common agreement?). There is something fishy in there and most likely both have a lot to lose... but... once again... Gaiman already lost his reputation, his support system, his career and power (as limited as it is in the real world) he doesn't have anything else to lose... why isn't he coming foward if there's anything shady on that divorce? Why aren't they using this scandal as the perfect excuse to finish the marriage at once? Even as a PR stunt or something. It is... interesting.
As I said, I don't believe that he is completely innocent. He is, after all, a successful and powerful (in some circles, not as many as the fandom believes) man, of course he'll reap the fruits of it. In which world do you live to think otherwise? HOWEVER those women that spoke about it had some sort of relationship with him first either as fans or fan-adjacent, student, friends (?) that lived on the same state and it is clear that between their first encounter and the first move there was something (a talk, a friendship, companionship). But Scarlett is like "I went to the house, the kid wasn't there and he offered me to take a bath and then he joined me"... just like that? Just out of the blue he was like "hey, go take a bath in my back yard".
Considering that in the other cases he at the very least had a long talk before kissing a girl... Scarlett's scenario feels like a perv on a coat flashing girls on the park. It is very odd and really stupid (if real) on his part. He knows and was able to cover his tracks before... why changing methods now? Why with a stranger that just stepped foot on his house?
I find it hard to believe that the main reason he went to conventions or was in touch with his fans was to prey on young women as some sort of thirsty vampire. That... benefit... was a by-product of his work. He did liked to be worshipped, that's for certain. If that is what you want to believe, go ahead... the result is the same, all of those women had to trust him first because otherwise the "Neil is a creep. He came onto me like a hawk" was going to be all over the Internet and he didn't wanted that. So why would he be so crude all the sudden? It doesn't make sense.
If he is a voracious predator... that behaviour would've been present from the get-go and everything seems to point out the opposite: he would "choose" a girl and eventually get her close enough to try something (you could call it "grooming" but I don't think its quite there yet, but whatever). He got rejected a few times and called the day, as said by two of the women that came foward. That aspect that was present in the last, I don't know, 20-40 years wouldn't just disappear overnight. Is both his way of doing things and self-preservation instinct. Why throwing it all away? Was Palmer's alleged prohibition to touch her so provocative? Was Scarlett so irresistable? What the hell happened?
The sudden spike in violence and humilliation is also kinda weird. Granted, maybe there are other women under NDAs that could confirm his practices and how he moved from "basic" BDSM to something heavier but unless they feel like talking, we will never know.
The other women do bring up the Master-Servant kink, maybe some force display... but never to that level (the urine and fecal matter hasn't been brought up by anyone else, as far as I know). And... just look at the guy... does he look like he'd be strong enough or have enough stamina to make a woman pass out? I mean... if drugs were involved I could believe it but if there were drugs involved someone would've said it already (and it also would've helped Palmer's divorce). He's in his 60s! Fair enough that being 60 now is not the same that being 60 in the 1800s, but is being 60 doesn't equate being in your peak performance either. I don't know how many young men can make a woman faint during a brutal sex encounter but my guess is that not that many either (again, unless drugs are involved one way or another). Maybe Scarlett is just too frail? That's a possibility... the only one that could explain all this.
To close my doubts on Scarlett's testimony... the trial for 7 million doesn't make sense either. I could understand if that is the owed amount for all of her work + some compensation for the years that passed but I don't think that any kind of money can "repair" what was done to her.
I know, it is a personal opinion... the same one I had when I was little and all the Michael Jackson trials started to take shape. If I or my family were ever put in that place... we would be after blood and no amount of money would shut us up.
Granted, situations are different, needs are different too... but whenever any kind of sex allegation could be solved through money instead of jail time... alarms go off in my brain.
It could be that is the only way to "punish him" due to his status (I hardly think so, given that many celebrities got jail time even if it was for a brief period of time -compared with any of us mortals-), maybe is the only way she has to bring spotlight into this... we don't really know the mechanics at play here.
The trial (if there is any) could be dismissed due to the location. I read the motion presented by Gaiman's lawyers and I can't believe that Scarlett's lawyers said that USA was better than New Zeland because Scarlett is in Scotland now and flying back to NZ was about $200 more expensive than flying to USA. Gaiman's lawyers do have a point there, she could've done everything in England or even Scotland if she didn't trusted NZ's law system. The facts didn't happen in USA, it would take a lot of organization to summon the witnesses and prepare Zoom calls or receive videos with testimonies, not even the police department from USA has anything to do with it. Most likely USA will refuse to host it. Had it been the fan-turned-into-lover who did travelled with him around USA -I think- and has the whole UTI episode, the one that started the trial... USA would've stepped up. Alas, it wasn't her.
The NDA thing: I know that going after Caroline for breaking the NDA is, for a lot of you, an admission of guilt or an attempt to shut her up and yes, after all he did greenlit it to his lawyers (unless there's some kind of Representation through a Power of Attorney thing going on)... but again, it sounds A LOT to a lawyer's strategy "we'll go after her because she violated the small print we've put there definetly not on purpose in case this ever happened".
I say... we don't really know what does the NDA says in its totallity (I guess it is not just a single sheet of paper with "I promise not to speak about our sex life ever"). It is most likely about 15 or 20 pages with different things that can't be disclosed at all... and maybe the part she broke is for talking about his daily routine, the disposition of the house or even mentioning his son. We really don't know.
Now the reason why they are going after her could be revenge, could be to shut her up, could be kind of a reminder that she accepted it got the money and ignored it later (basically broke a contract). It'll be interesting to see if they (Gaiman and lawyers) are willing to disclose the NDA in order to prove how she broke it... and why aren't they going after Scarlett as well? She also mentioned signing an NDA and she made it clear that she got the money before signing it (unlike Caroline who got the money afterwards, and after a negotiation). That's curious as well... because they could go after both... why just Caroline? She's not the first one to come foward and definetly not the one starting the trial. Maybe because Scarlett has too much focus on her and it will feel like retaliation? Was this Gaiman's idea or his lawyers?
If you are still here, not fuming or asking for my head on a platter...
On and all... I know that this shocked many of you. I usually expect that people I like to have at least one fatal flaw. It's easier seeing it like that... everybody has a shitty side because we are all humans and by definition, we are not perfect.
I do believe that Gaiman took advantage of a lot of girls and women throughout his career. Has all of it been build under dubious consent? It depends on each one, if any of them ever felt "I can't tell him 'No' because he's my hero" then yes... if they willingly participated on it because it was him of all men and that made them feel special, then no.
He's probably very selfish when in a relationship and this can also depend on each partner and even the situation they were in at the time. People's feelings and perceptions change as years go by and there's nothing we can do about it.
Maybe he is a good-enough manipulator (no, I'm not looking at all fan interactions as him trying to sleep with anyone) that can convince women to do things they're not entirely OK with and this allowed him to keep on doing it for decades and that makes it all more difficult because... then everybody will blame both parties: on him for being like that, on them for trusting him.
I still struggle to call him "rapist" because the episodes told us just what happened not all the context needed to fully picture the situation (and as I said even if he manipulated those women into allowing him to do as he wanted, the dubious consent is a bitch that clouds everything because "she did say yes and that's what matters to the law") so it all boils down to he said/she said that will never get resolved unless one of the parties had recorded the encounter.
What about Scarlett? Well, as I said she is the odd one out and that makes me suspicious... had all of them described the same treatment from A to Z it would've been easier for me to believe it 100%. I do believe that something happened... but there is a chance that her story is 50-50 either because her memories are a little off or because she needed the story to blow up and there was only one way to do it.
There is no way we will ever get the full truth, only they know it.
There is no irrefutable proof on one side or the other to prove anyone's guilt or innocence (at least of what we know so far, is not like either will disclose it to the Media first instead of the Court, that'd be really stupid).
A part of the truth will come to the light eventually. It could take a few years or even his death for someone to give a full statement about anything. It always happens like that.
I'll keep on reading and seeing how everything moves foward with an open mind.
And just in case it needs to be said...
TERFS AREN'T FUCKING ALLOWED.

Spare Me Your Mercy - Ep 1-5
I've seen so many different opinions about this series that I decided to check it out myself 😄
I liked the first 5 episodes, but I generally like detective series, especially those set in the provinces, in the backwoods, with a local network of weird relationships, hierarchies, dependencies, family connections. A serial killer killing terminally ill patients is an interesting plot. In that respect, the series is good to watch.
As for BL… well. How can I say this there's no BL here? 😁 I'll be honest: this is absolutely NOT the second MoD. I have to say that I don't think I've ever seen an officially BL series that was so very non-BL. Which is very funny when I think about non-BL series that couldn't be gayer, even if the MLs had sex on screen. Beyond Evil, The Devil Judge, Killer and Healer, or even High School Frenemy are non-BL series where the MLs act like their on-screen partner is the most important person in their lives with a complete, full-ass obsession and fixation on that person, with an unearthly mental and physical chemistry sparking between them. One gesture, one sentence from any of the above series is more charged with emotion and eroticism than the entire 5 episodes of SMYM, I know you know what I mean.
In the case of MoD, with all due respect to people comparing those two series, Tan and Bun have scenes together where you can clearly see their growing fascination with each other, their relationship develops logically and linearly, and the possibility that one of them could be a murderer is an important part of the plot and a source of genuine despair and fear for the other man. I have the impression that if Kan turned out to be a murderer, the Captain would be like: oh, that's sad. Anyway. 😆
In SMYM, the actors have zero chemistry, they are awkward, not comfortable with each other physically, and we as viewers are INFORMED about their mutual interest 😆 This is something I think I've never encountered before - to create a romance that needs to be talked about, because without words it's nonexistent. For example, when Kan tells Tew at the beginning that he knows he's interested in him, I was like: ???? You know? How? Where did this guy even suggest that? As a viewer I think he wants to arrest you!
I don't know if it's a matter of acting, or directing, or filming this series, but the fascination between lovers in romantic productions is usually shown through looks, stares, gestures, facial and body play, conversation, when the characters show that the other person has an effect on them, for example, that they smile, when they think about them or see them, they are flustered, embarrassed, shy, aroused. When the sudden proximity of the other person causes emotional turmoil. Just compare the scene when Bun is tending to Tan's wounds and when Kan is sitting next to Tew with a head wound. There's nothing there. Again, all I can think is that the cop wants to arrest the doc! Arrest! Not kiss! I admit that their scenes together make me feel awkward and I burst out laughing in embarrassment when they start "flirting" and there is no romantic emotion behind their words. It's a very funny feeling. I just need to believe in the feelings between the characters and here I don't believe in it for a second. They don't just sell it to me, sorry.
I'm interested in the series and I intend to watch it until the end. But honestly, this is the first time in my life when I would prefer if MLs were just bromance, not romance, because this relationship is one big nope, it kinda feels.. forced? What's more, I'll write something I never expected to write: I would even prefer if they didn't kiss, when at the same time I would give my left kidney for just one Saint and Shin kiss lmao
(I don't want this post to sound like I don't like this show, because I do! even with all the awkwardness of the romance 😊)

Doing an end-of-the-year ranking of the dramas I watched this year and the last purely on how much I enjoyed them. I am including 2023 because I only managed to finish two (!!!) dramas that year. I'm not including the ones I dropped, at least one of which was such pure garbage that it nearly ended my enjoyment of dramas as a whole.
1. Connection
Tumblr media
Excellent drama, 100/10, no notes. Ji Sung is perfection and so is this entire show. I enjoyed it immensely.
2. Black Wedding
Tumblr media
This one was an unexpected hit for me because I typically don't enjoy ex-Yu productions nearly so much. Great cinematography, excellent acting, horror right up my alley. I loved everything!
3. Beyond Evil
Tumblr media
Flawless! Showstopping! Ranked no. 3 just because I have to have a ranking but it may as well have been no. 1 too. Excellent drama, 10/10, would absolutely recommend.
4. The Devil Judge
Tumblr media
I adored Ji Sung as Kang Yohan but loathed Kim Gaon, so this drama cannot go higher. With that said, it bears repeating that Ji Sung is absolutely perfect.
5. The Story of Minglan
Tumblr media
This one fell a bit short of expectations, but admittedly, the expectations were soaring sky-high and might have been impossible to meet. The fantastic parts of this drama were really mind-blowingly good, but I did also spend long stretches bored out of my mind and was left unsatisfied by many of the choices that were made when filming this. Unpopular opinion incoming: while I loved Minglan, I hated Gu Tingye. I gave him chance after chance and made countless excuses, but eventually gave up and by the end of the drama, I loathed him so much that my skin was crawling whenever he showed his face. In addition, I feel like Feng Shaofeng was grossly miscast here and was not at all impressed by his acting skills.
6. The Double
Tumblr media
This is hardly a masterpiece but I was superbly entertained for the entire duration of the show. Princess Wanning was an unexpected favourite! They really lucked out with the casting here.
7. Judge Dee's Mystery
Tumblr media
Overall, this drama is just not great, but it has Zhou Yiwei in the main role, who, as always, is perfection. I would 100% watch again just for him, but if it had been anyone else in the main role, I would have found it hard to sit through more than a few episodes.
8. Eternal Brotherhood
Tumblr media
I enjoyed this drama just fine when I was watching it but I just did not find it particularly memorable. The main draw for me was the older cast which was killed off halfway through and then we were left with the younger generation which barely held my interest. Will still watch season 2 when it airs, though.
9. Lighter and Princess
Tumblr media
Overall, I think this is probably a good drama, it just wasn't my cup of tea in any way, shape or form. I spent a good 80% of it bored out of my skull. With that said, I kept watching because I love Chen Feiyu, who, let's be honest, was the only reason I picked this up in the first place. Do I regret watching this? No. Would I have watched a single second of it if they had cast someone else as the ML? Not in a million years.

The Devil Judge Rewatch Ep 11 (Part 5)
Continuation of Part 4, which can be found here.
In Part 4, which had Yohan and Elijah staring daggers at each other.
Tumblr media
And poor Gaon!
Tumblr media
He must be thinking - what the hell is wrong with the two of them. Their combined age add up to 56, and their IQ together is many times higher than his. Yet they are quarrelling like two small kids having a fight at the playground.
Tumblr media
Then we have Yohan changing his mind and telling Gaon to move his butt.
Tumblr media
And Yohan, he's just as bad as Elijah in his desire to win.
Tumblr media
And we have Gaon going from this happy...
Tumblr media
To this tired. Cause if I didn't remember wrong, Yohan and Elijah had been going at it for four hours non-stop.
No wonder Ms Ji had said.
Tumblr media
Then we have Yohan losing in the end.
Tumblr media
And must he pout like this!
And Elijah, so happy to 'punish' him.
Tumblr media
And this final scene.
Tumblr media
Enjoy it as much as you can. Cause there won't be any more such wondrous and beautiful moments after this - all with smiles on their faces and enjoying the happiness that they deserve. They will be torn apart by schemes and betrayals and evil deeds.
And with this, I shall end the rewatch here. I'm not good with angst, and the last 5 episodes are just too painful to rewatch. And see u around if you are still as interested in this fandom as I am. And which will probably have me posting in October. Cause I want to do the Fictober Writing Challenge for Yohan x Gaon if I can.
Until then, take care.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

Five Questions for Five Mutuals - TDJ Edition! Thank you for the tag @queenbeyondthejudge !!! I love stuff like this <3 1. Who is your favourite character (s) from TDJ
Kang Yohan 100%, not even close. I love him sm. He's gorgeous and an amazing character. Also I relate to him more than I probably should but we don't have time to unpack all that xD 2. Who is your favourite character (s) from TDJ?
This one's hard for me, there are so many moments in this show that I absolutely adore but if I have to pick it'll be Episode 12 for the Scene after Yohans Run with the iconic "I don't care if mankind goes extinct as long as I have you two" quote
3. Where do you see your favourite character in 10 years?
God I hope he's happy. That's all I care about. Happy, feeling safe and finally able to relax and be himself. Preferably with Gaon by his side as his husband and maybe even a little daughter of their own that he can pamper and treat like a princess.
4. Why do you think The Devil Judge fandom continues to this day?
There's a lot of reasons for this I think but most important is probably how unique the show is and how amazing the community is. Like, I don't think there is a single show out there that I'd compare to TDJ. The story, the characters, the writing, it all comes together so well. It's obviously not perfect but I love it and haven't found anything that comes close. And then there's the community. I've never felt more safe and welcome when joining any other fandom. You guys are so sweet and I love that sm.
5. How did you find The Devil Judge? (What made you watch?)
This part cracks me up because it was pure coincidence for me. I have hundreds of shows and movies on my Watchlist on Netflix but decided to browse the main page instead. A few rows down in between a bunch of other shows was TDJ and I even almost scrolled past it but decided to read the description and gave it a go. Was hooked from episode 1
This turned out longer than expected but oh well lmao

Hello sorry to bother you with this all of sudden ,and this might be coming out of nowhere, and I’m not trying to force you or be pushy  I’m just trying to get more people into this show with great potential. You can ignore this if you want. If your not interested it’s fine but Have you heard of or watched moon girl and devil dinosaur? Season 2 premier happened
The main character I love she gives me autistic vibes I’m autistic. The show has interesting characters, action ,great music, and animation ,good themes and representation, Anime references, plenty of Sailor Moon references too it even has an eyecatch season 2 is going to be more story driven if you find that interesting. It also shares the same animation studio as rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.
It be good if you also watch the season 2 episodes when they air so the ratings will be higher.
I think Disney might be trying to sabotage the show with them dropping 14 episodes on Disney +  Feb 3 which has passed.and it’s only half of season 2. We have a week or two to binge it.They did similar with season 1 and the ratings where low ,please watch season 2 episodes when they air on. But more importantly also watch it on Disney + in feb and when they air it on YouTube. Unfortunately they dropped 14 episodes on Disney + so watch them all in a day if you can but also when they air the first time if you have cable.
I’m not just saying only cable just also. I’m saying please support this show. Despite that it still won 5 Emmys. Also if it’s no trouble could if it alright with you spread the word about this show to others you know like either online or irl. Time is limited!
Tumblr media
Hey there, you aren't being a bother. Sorry it's taking me some time to answer this.
I have heard of the show, but haven't watched it myself. It has been recommended to me by my sister, who is a very good judge of things I would enjoy.
There's not really anyone outside of my family that I know who would watch it, or they already are watching it/have seen it. So there aren't a lot of people I can suggest it to watch.
I'm not really watching anything new at the moment because I'm trying to work on things I've already been putting off in books and games right now.

The Red Devil's Chronicles - Feb. 2025 Devil May Cry News Updates: Netflix, Hints, etc.
Tumblr media
Hey, how's it going? Here are the latest Devil May Cry news updates I've gathered:
1. New Dante statue made by a couple artists. b) NabeHands has been busy with their crafting. c) And a group called 3DCG is making a life-sized Dante statue that will be showcased in Japan somewhere.
2. A Morphicon event took place in either August, September, or October of 2024. Vergil’s voice Dan Southworth hints at another voice acting role he’s gonna star in. b) This caused a bunch of rumours of a new Devil May Cry game to surface. c) Along with Nero's voice Johnny Bosch plausibly hinting at something in the making. d) And Dante's voice Reuben Langdon also plausibly hinting something.
3. More Dante merch available at the Capcom store.
4. Former Devil May Cry director Hideki Kamiya shares something interesting, which is about where the Devil May Cry world fits in with the games he directed.
5. Johnny Long (aka Johnny Vincent) has finished their fan video.
6. The first episode clip of the Netflix series has been shown publicly, along with a fun bit from Johnny Bosch and Adi Shankar (skip to 1:39:10 of the video).
My Thoughts On These Updates:
1. Glad we're getting more awesome figures being made. Too bad I still don't have the room for them (yet).
2. I'm surprised that I missed that Morphicon info last year. Then again, hardly anybody's talked about it until recently, and I'm not too big into Power Rangers which made me assume that it was gonna be just Power Rangers talk there. With these hints surfacing, I'm just gonna sit back, and try not to get my hopes up too much. In other words, I'm just gonna wait and see what we eventually get.
3. 2nd time recently now where it shows Capcom still cares about Devil May Cry and wants to do more with it.
4. I'm surprised Kamiya's still talking Devil May Cry since he doesn't own the rights to it anymore, and how he wants more Bayonetta talk since Bayonetta's his property. Maybe him collaborating with Capcom on some things have inspired him.
5. Not bad of a fan project. Not sure what else to say, but not bad.
6. All I can say about the Netflix clip shown is that I like what's happening so far, and still looking forward to its release. The only criticisms I have are how it's gonna take some accustoming to with Johnny's voice, and the animation is a bit choppy. Then again it's understandable that when you're on a timer and making action sequences like that, you gotta make some quality sacrifices. Every video game, TV show, project, anime, etc. does this. And Johnny does great with what he does, it's just the mix of Nero/Vash voices that's gonna take some getting used to.
The main thing I'm having a problem with it though is the foolish discourse that's happening between the fans. People just can't keep their heads straight and do their research can they? Instead they'd rather judge books by their covers, label people with slurs and other offensive things, are afraid to be in the wrong, and would rather stick with whatever happens in a game or 2, their own head-canons, fanfics, memes, and/or fan arts. It's funny...They want a Devil May Cry 6 to happen so bad, but who's to say we're ever gonna get one now that they're acting like this.
I admit that there were times where I got petty and harsh towards those that were acting idiotic, and I feel ashamed and am sorry for giving off that behaviour. Glad things are toning down a bit for now, and that Johnny and Adi are taking the harshness of the rabid fans really well. Looking forward to April.
