BUT in exploring Pasi & her family internally I’ve finally made the executive decision to finalize up exactly where she came from, and since mythologically THIS?!!! was one of the options?!!!! I saw the chance, grabbed it, then IMMEDIATELY spiraled into a rabbit hole that no one asked for

AND SOOOOO first things first before I loop back around to PasI, it’s the design reveal!!! plus closeup & then my notes to self since these two drawings were the first I got done in this whole collection to use as reference for myself lmao

Indeed I have been accumulating a bunch of snippets to conceptualize the vision I have of Elysium!Di as he relates to our actual characters and those all come next!! little doodles and comics!! for now, two things, most importantly, to attach to this intro pic ;

1. in this OC’verse, PLEASE do not forget that HERE Olympians exist to be mean and terrible and are all assholes all of the time, as this is a venue for chthonic gods only 🥰  are the mythological olympian gods nuanced and morally gray characters yes!! Am *I* interested in exploring that at all here NOOO not in the SLIGHTEST go someplace else for that. and so this WILL be biased and skewed ty 💕💕💕

2. as a straightedge weirdo myself, the mythological aspect of Dionysus that interests me is less so “party wine god” (tho valid) and more of a…. “god of insanity madness RIP pentheus” vibe so uh…. please keep that in the back of your mind as well

Fun bit of character writing that Vox has is that he died in the 1950s, which during that period was when TV finally dominated over the radio.

Which leaves the very funny possibility that if Vox died in the earlier half of the 1950s, he died right before or when his medium of choice became objectively more popular than radio.

Which is absolutely hilarious to me. It makes his rivalry with alastor just a lot more funny to me for some reason.

✨feat. the fourth of four “interlude” comics, AKA THE BIG ONE!!! AT LONG LAST!!!!!  I hope all this hyping has paid off because all of these have basically just been building to this one comic, which originally started as one quick sketch, and then exploded into five pages of one of the meanest things I’ve ever done :’) i’ll spare u all from taking up more space lmao and my notes n’ commentary are behind the cut!

“WHY DIDNT PASI GO WITH HIM?!?!?!?!!!” you are probably asking, Umm because (obnoxious Ancient Greek Olympian Older Sisters Voice) you can’t go with your own future husband to ask for your own hand in marriage that’s HIS and your father’s job duh????? (one thousand years later Pasi’s still like uGhhGhHH I SHOULD HAVE FOUGHT HARDER)

!!Authors note for just me specifically to clear my conscience! I KNOW bacchanal is the Roman term not the Greek term but it fit the flow of the sentence better so what’s one more anachronism among one million shhhhhHHH—

the last page - featuring special surprise cameo by an elysium’verse ✨ARIADNE🧶✨- was added super last minute and primarily JUST actually for the ulterior motive of drawing Ariadne jn the dumbest background visual gag of all time, for you keen eyed Greek mythology fans 🧶🧶 (aDFLGL IM SORRY ITS SOOOO STUPID LMFAO) (I also just rlly wanted to design her 🥺)

every line of dialogue here was the absolute most fun to write - I love writing ElysiumOlympians so much and Di is no exception, that sweet sweet condescending passive aggression!! and to be clear, this is Dionysus LIKING Hypnos! this DID go well! oh my god!

And finally, I also must point out every expression here was ALSO so much fun to draw! Despite how much I complain abt doing them I think I do I love drawing comics cause choosing one million micro expressions is my absolute jammmm*~ obviously my fave panel of this collection is page three at the bottom duh
