Book List Time!!!

And with that I have 10 give or take books to discuss. Now I’m up to over 30 books since May woooo telling tumblr about each one has been a great motivator so I hope my reviews and list help people out in a non spoiler fun way. Gonna rank these in order I want to reread them.

1. Green Creek the series by TJ Klune 🏳️‍🌈🐺🌶️🌲 Wolfsong Ravensong Heartsong Brothersong I am obsessed. Literally read all four books in 3 days. I have bought physical copies and marked them up. Will make you cry, laugh, and stay in your heart forever. Just……. Go read it. But the quick synopsis is Powerful Humans Wolves Witches have to pay for the sins of their fathers over and over again while maintaining their found family and finding their true soulmates. There is Ace Lesbian non binary rep in here as well.

2. The Warden by Daniel Ford🏳️‍🌈 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩🧙‍♀️❄️🪦truly a fantasy masterpiece the romance isn’t the focus but it’s fucking good. First sapphic book to get a 10/10 for me. About a witch(with a magic system that is interesting surprising) growing up and finding herself a family without sacrificing who she is. I loved her and at first you think ehhh is this going to be boring no definitely not. Was surprising made me laugh and cry. Can’t wait for part 2 cause more of the hot gf in there I hope.

3. A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland🏳️‍🌈👑⚔️🌶️🌶️ I listened to this book two times in a row I enjoyed it so much. It’s a bodyguard and prince story. The prince’s depiction of depression anxiety panic attacks was so real. The bodyguard is very endearing. The themes of family are strong and interesting. The mystery was easy to solve but I found it rewarding because I wanted the prince to win so badly haha.

4. Spindle Splintered by Alix E Harrow🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👸🏼🥀😢

Short story about a dying girl who has a special interest in sleeping beauty. It does have a…. Debatably Sad ending. I did enjoy it for what it was trying to talk about. I lost a friend when she was too young. I’m glad I read it.

5. Scumbag Villains Self-Saving System series by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu 🏳️‍🌈🚩⚔️😈🕊️🤓🌶️? I’m putting it up this high because besides that scene in chapter 21 that slapped me in the brain I really enjoyed the series. Only Danmei I HAD TO GET THE REST OF THE SERIES IMMEDIATELY Hell I’ve even now written fan fic for the side ship. About a Nerd being put into his favorite love to hate stallion novel (story about a hero who fucks his way to success) but he’s in there as the abusive villain who the hero is destined to kill. The nerd has to save himself and unintentionally builds himself a harem featuring the most red flag the hero who so sololy motivated by the nerd. It’s great easy to read very fun. But 🌶️ scene in book 3 is a definite skip and delete from memory.

6. Case File Compendium Vol 1 by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou 🏳️‍🌈? 😈🚩🩸🕵️🥼

I did just finish reading this so maybe I’m bias but I really did find it a book I couldn’t put down. I even brought it with me to work to read a chapter during my lunch breaks. Main characters are heavy in their homophobic lifestyles but they kiss and protect each other? True crime and mentally ill characters. MC is has a fatal mental illness that makes him unstable and MIL was his former private doctor. MC is trying to date MIL’s little sister. While getting up to shenanigans they stumble into a corrupt hospital and evil forces are maybe after them?! Idk its exciting fun to read but only if you like 🚩’s

7. The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish Vol 1 by Xue Shan Fei Hu 🏳️‍🌈🐟👑🎨🖼️ I did genuinely laugh my ass off during reading this book. It was incredibly easy to read I think I finished it in 4 hours. Very cute. I love the inside and outside art. About a nonverbal Prince who has anger issues and his crush on the modern man who is trapped within an ugly little fish. Now yes the Prince is becomes actively in love with the fish. Lucky for us we are stuck in the man who is trapped as the fish’s pov and he is genuinely just trying to get back to his world by obeying the powers that be System’s prompts to go home. Fish is not trying to seduce the Prince or anything. It’s just funny I had a great time with vol 1 probably will read vol 2.

8. So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole 🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨🐉🏝️ while having dragons and diverse cast it ultimately falls short of expectations wishing for more depth and clarity. The asexual spectrum representation feels muddled and Jamaican inspired cultural elements are unexplored which is at odds with its rich backdrop that could have enhanced the story. The story’s mystery element lacked cohesion resulting in a frustrating bittersweet ending that suggests a sequel and left me unsatisfied. I won’t read the next book. Won’t suggest it.

9. Faithless Book2 by C L Clark 🏳️‍🌈🚩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩⚔️👑😩 a big let down from book 1 but I’m locked in for life I guess. Luca is back in France navigating a way to get the crown. While Touraine shows up with a priest and Teen to some how get food for her people. Most of the plot feels useless both MC characters are stupid and do no growing. The new teen character was interesting. I disliked the poly romance I didn’t particularly feel comfortable about Touraine and Luca why not add another person in what could go wrong? Luca’s reign as Queen looks to be very bad and you will feel extremely disappointed at the end. I’m going to read the next book but only because I like the characters who didn’t go to France.

10. Self-Made Boys by Anna-Marie McLemore.

I read 90% of this book and I regret it. It’s a trans characters as the leads gay retelling of the great gatsby. I was truly excited to read it I’ve read The Great Gatsby many times. However this book just laughs at the source material. I’m tempted to say maybe the Chat GPT’d the plot and didn’t ask for any over arching themes in the book. I couldn’t do it I’m gonna have to find a better trans representation book in my next set of ten.

Byler omegaverse thoughts: the one a/b/o byler fic I absolutely loved was dirty rain, I think it’s been deleted now but I wish I had downloaded it/ it get reuploaded or at least knew why it got deleted since it did have almost 40 chapters. Everything about it was sooo good and I feel like people NEED to know abt it if they don’t already so here is why I love this fic: Mike walking around in the middle of the night the same night Will came back to Hawkins because of Wills scent, the slight age gap between the two, protective Mike when Will started school again, Mike courting Will and scenting everything he gives him, their desire for each other being so strong even before Wills first heat that they end up grinding against each other multiple times because Mike refuses to hurt Will since his body isn’t fully ready yet, when Wills first heat does happen he chooses to stay at Mikes house instead of his own because the scent of Mike calms him, during their first time (I think) Mike lets Will bite his neck even though it’s seen as a bad thing in society for alphas to have claim marks, Mike also claiming Will by biting him but being so careful because he knows Will has trauma related to his neck and also biting all his other scent glands if I remember correctly, and finally Mike making sure Will eats and stays hydrated in between the times when Wills heat isn’t spiked high I could honestly go on forever talking about this fic bc I love it so much and I never see anyone mention it which is 😢

side note: I recently saw the anatomy chart of a male omega and the science/anatomy college side of my brain has so many questions relating to the technical side of things bc I love combining what I’m learning with fantasy to help me understand concepts better but this is already so long and I think the answers to them will differ between different authors so I’ll save you of them

i’ve never heard of that fic and if it has been deleted that is actually a whole tragedy! i believe that i have read every a/b/o byler fic that is there (at least on ao3) and i haven’t ever come across dirty rain. and after just googling it, i’m pretty sure it’s been deleted since all that came up was “deleted byler fic” so 😔

it sounds like it has so many aspects that i love too! i’m a sucker for mating fics where they claim one another and bond - it’s usually so sweet! and it’s even better when there’s a taboo thrown in with an omega claiming an alpha but their alpha wants their mark regardless

i guarantee that it would be talked about a hell of a lot more if it was still available! hopefully the author may decide to post it again one day

also! the anatomy of alphas and omegas is such an interest of mine as well! especially male omegas and female alphas, particularly because it goes against the binary biology that we have in real life so there’s so much that can be explored. if you ever want to talk my ear off about a/b/o biology PLEASE feel free i would love it!

Ahhh thank you so much for taking time to find those fics! I love reading them and tbh they were excellent (of course) haha but I remember this fic was a bit longer I think? Definitely still swim team vibes but might be high school. I think they were close at one point then enemies for a bit before they got together. I remember a part where her family asked about why she didn’t talk about him or something? Again, might be totally losing it here haha but I appreciate the help! 🤍

Lucas smiled at his phone, he may buy a small cake on his back anyway. A new notification popped up. The chat belonged to the special task force of the police department. Just in case Marsh wanted to play with his phone he named it something lame like work.

He opened the chat called Work.

Teddy: Lucas, I sent you some stuff, please review it asap. I think your suspicions were correct.

Lloyd: I sent you the results from forensics too. This bastard is sick.

Tony: And that is saying something considering our usual cases.

Luke: Ok, I will review everything now.

He put his phone down and concentrated on the documents. This damned psychopath, he always regretted being right in cases like this. If it weren’t for some documents that he had access thanks to his profession as a lawyer, they may have never figured out he targeted kids too.

Filled with determination and anger he started to make all the mental note necessary to help the team get proof without falling in some kind of legal loophole that could harm the designated prosecutor’s case later.

The cases they dealt were so delicate that even the police needed direct assistant in some legals matters. He was so focused on what he needed to say that he opened the first chat in his list, without realising that the order had changed while he review the documents.

Just a rant about asks and false accusations...

I was just remembering that time when I first started my blog... I was so excited to get my first ask, and it was just someone accusing me of being creepy and writing NSFW content about KIDS!! 😢 Looking back on it now, I regret deleting it from my blog because, I actually think it's pretty funny considering the context. BUT, I deleted it because I felt like I replied waaay too nicely too it after being disrespected like that. (I searched my entire camera roll, my discord, and a bunch of texts w/ friends hoping to find a screenshot but I guess I never took one??) Anyway, for context I have and always have had my blog tagged as 18+ and MDNI! (In my bio, about section, etc.) The person sent me an anon ask about THIS fic. Which I'd like to point out, is and always has been tagged accurately and appropriately, according to the content. (as all my writing is) I've always made sure to tag and give proper warnings on anything I post in order to allow readers to make an informed decision on the content they are consuming. At the end of the day, it is YOUR responsibility what you consume and nobody else's.... Since the fic was a Konig high school AU, I obviously tagged it as such and added that both Konig and reader were teenagers/17 years-old. The other tags were things like 'fluff', 'one shot', and 'wholesome'. As you can still see for yourself both on my masterlist and on the fic itself. The only warning the fic was tagged with was 'drug use' for the fact that it involved Konig and reader smoking weed. The ask itself was anon "calling me out" for "being a MDNI and 18+ blog" yet "being an adult writing about to minors having sex". It was clear that anon DID NOT read the fic itself, which considering their misunderstanding of the tags makes sense. (I guess) BUT, I think this is a good way to open a discussion about this and remind everyone, the importance of mindfulness here on the internet. I thought when I posted it that it was just a little silly piece I'd worked up. I was still new to publishing my writing and just tried my best. I was proud of it and wanted to share. So, understandably I was hurt and a bit disappointed that my very first interaction with the community was an accusation like that all because, they hadn't bothered to actually read or look into the content before hand. With that all being said, here is a little warning/advice/reminder for... READERS: Be respectful! Especially when going after/criticizing writers in their asks. If there is some sort of problem or mistake within that piece, bring it to their attention in a respectful manner, and most importantly, KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT FIRST!! WRITERS: Always tag your work appropriately! Even if it's something small that you may feel isn't totally necessary, just be careful. Most importantly DON'T TAKE SHIT FROM ANYONE!! In this case, it turned out fine. However, accusations (especially ones involving pedophilia) can be very damaging to people.

I do believe it had either bruce/tim or bruce&tim as one of the tags I believe it was also published a while ago even though I read it somewhat recently like within the year recently. nothing explicit happened yet so I don't think the rating was E or M though I'm not certain if the author was planning to have that matierial show up eventually and tagged it as such for the future. I do know it was incomplete and if it was published long ago the author may have figured they'd just delete it if they lost interest in finishing it 😢. it's a shame but I know it happens.

Please let me reread Words are Unnecessary again 🙏😢 even for the last time, please.

Sorry to take so long with my response. I’m assuming you’re the same person who messaged me days ago on ff.net about this, who I finally responded to just a bit ago. I really have not had the energy/ mental capacity to respond to messages in a timely fashion.

But, while I have this ask, I am going to answer it for others to see since I do get asked this every few months (for this fic most of all, but I’ve had this request for some of my deleted OP fics, too).

My answer, every time, is ‘No’. I deleted my fics for a variety of reasons. In the case of all my FT fics, it’s because I was no longer happy with my writing for them (I’ve grown a lot in my writing since then), and they bring me physical embarrassment with how much I dislike them now. I’ve also divorced myself completely from the fandom, so I really don’t care to have any fics up for it. I left my most popular finished fics up for them, as well as a few one shots on my sideblog here that don’t make me cringe too badly... But I do actually want to delete all of them someday, too.

The OP fics I deleted were because they were unfinished and my block on them was not breaking for a variety of reasons. Those are the only fics that I may someday repost, but only if my motivation/ inspiration for them returns, and I cannot make any promises to that.

And, no matter who asks, I will not privately share copies of my deleted fics. While I do trust that the people who ask aren’t planning to repost them or plagiarize or anything like that, I am protective of my work and if I come to the decision that I don’t really want it out there anymore, in any fashion, then I am not going to share it, not even privately. With this fic in particular, I can safely tell you that @mirajanestrauss, Miraxus queen herself, could ask for a copy and I would decline, and I love and adore Amber with my whole heart. I am non-discriminatory in my ‘No’ on this one, lol.

I’ve been in fandom, or on the edges of fandom, for a long time. I know what it’s like when authors delete work. It sucks to be the reader who really loved the piece, but it happens and sometimes you have to learn to move on. Some authors might be willing to share their old work privately, which is great, but not all of us are comfortable with that.

So, I’m sorry to you and anyone else who is upset that I took down a lot of old and unfinished work. I hope you can all understand and respect my wishes, though, in moving forward.
