Honestly I love it when people write evil x as 30-40s. It raises so many more questions about Why they behave Like That but at heart, evil xisuma is all about raising exponentially more questions than answers with every single facet of themself that's revealed, so in that sense it's much more faithful to their character to headcanon them as an established adult and not as like, an 11 year old, though they absolutely act like one.

#ex #my personal vision of evil x is like.. 15-16 when they first appear in s3 #by no means a superior headcanon. there is not a headcanon in the world that makes evil xisuma make sense #🌙

#first of all it would have been ICONIC #second of all I have a very niche type #and it's brunets with big brown eyes that use a baseball bat as their weapon of choice #with a dash of possessed by an evil spirit for spice #ugh. fine. I'll do it myself #seriously though can you imagine THAT twist reveal???#they carry on that schtick with steve saying things the narrative frames as dumb #and the other characters all humor and/or snark at him for it #and then he just drops the act and sudden things get serious #begging the duffers to give joe keery literally anything to do in this show #sorry but kind of looked bored as hell throughout S4. at least to me #and tbh I would be too if my role consisted of forced 'dumb' dialogue. getting beaten up. and pining for my ex #steve didn't even get to have a standout buddy for the season #lucas and max were paired up. eddie and dustin. and robin and nancy were together most of the season #and it would have been cool if that was done with intent. but it just wasn't #okay I'm done rambling in the tags now #strangerthoughts

#thinking of the links awakening sequel to alttp post and how games contrast/mirror each other #i cant say totk was super close to it. well maybe it was based on the first trailer but not anymore !#there were moments to be sure (sky island music + the great sky island) but the bulk of it is. Not #it feels less of a sequel to botw and more like a spinoff game. the world is hollow when you see the cracks and the cracks are Everywhere #npcs are wrong the structure is more linear (the great sky island for ex) the replacement of the sheikah with the zonai but it not working #due to the fact that the sheikah are still referenced and its the Same Place where literally all of the events of botw and prior happened #like. it Could In Theory Work but its trying to erase the sheikahs presence entirely which. no!! thats not how that works??#instead of mirroring or parallel and highlighting them Both it tries to scrub one out over the other #the emphasis on a Greater Past- botw focusing on 100 years prior which he and zelda and the champions and. The World have a connection to #vs totk doing more than 10000 years prior which would Seem better at first glance but it informs nothing about hyrule and nothing meaningfu #l was lost. its just a set piece to show rauru and sonias conflict with ganondorf #theres no. Connections. like it doesnt matter to ganondorf hes just oOoOoo evil and it somehow doesnt affect his goals or motives #the sky islands cant imply any context because there Is no context theyre just scattered ruins with no significance #rauru laments about the constructs but Thats It. everything is just there to be cool #especially the old temple of time/the temple of time in the sky. in the wake of a string of murders, they’re forced to work together to find out how they’re linked, and investigate rumours of a cure

#this ravenous fate #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #sapphic books #I thought this was pretty decent! I thought the concept of the origin of vampires and how it discussed Black oppression and #treatment of vampires; and discussions of class privilege etc was interesting.#The main characters and their dynamic was great! I liked the friendships (though they fell off a bit…) and some of the family dynamics too.#I found the plot and pacing a bit all over the place though.#And I’m not sure how much is the writing and how much is the narration but I didn’t LOVE the writing.#The narrator doesn’t pause between POV switches which made it hard to keep track of sometimes.#I found a lot of the adults (/antagonists) a bit too cartoonishly evil? Though that might also be due to the narration -#eg after a whole scene of her dad yelling at her his voice is described as ‘steady & calm’ & I was like oh…..so not at all how that was act #It might have come across a bit more subtle and nuanced without such dramatic acting.#some of the lore was a little silly (like they age til they’re 25 then stop aging….ok sure)#but also sometimes with vampires the point is to lean into those aspects haha!#it reminds me of these violent delights - like obviously the enemy exes solving a supernatual murder in 1920s -#but also writing wise (both good and bad)#I think if you just want a good YA urban fantasy enemies to lovers with Black lesbians? if you wanted first kill to be a bit better?#then yeah check it out!

Spoilers for Alan Wake/Control games and DLCs: one of the things I really like in Alan Wake 2 is the confirmation that, no, Alan can’t create something out of nothing. There were implications in-story that supported that, but it was good to have that be a big part in the sequel. The AWE control dlc easily made it seem like Alan himself had a role in the events of the game and the formation of the FBC, and, personally, seeing it through that lens cheapened a lot of the game and Jesse’s story. Instead, having his writing influence the Hiss and try to manipulate (even out of desperation) Jesse/the FBC to end Hartman and get help, fit right into plot and conflicts of Alan Wake 2, with Alan being sympathetic, but also an asshole for trying to change and control people’s lives in his writing.

#since the awe dlc dropped I was slightly worried that it was going the meta route of Alan writing everything in control #but since Alan wake 2 I’ve been. thank god that wasn’t the case 😭#this way makes everything more complicated and mysterious. which I appreciate. makes everything creepier #will say. it’s still wild how much Alan can influence the narrative.#light spoilers for the final draft but—> makes me think of the writers room video where he doesn’t know what he’ll be at the spirals end #like I don’t think he’ll be Evil or anything. but it’s unnerving #might delete #Alan Wake 2 my beloved #so many times in that game it could’ve gone a direction that would’ve lessened or soured the story but somehow it didn’t lmao #more game spoilers but for ex: Alice coming back at the end instead of leaving it with her demise in the documentary #when I first saw that it was devastating. but also wasn’t sure what to feel if that’s how she’s gone from the story #having her actually manipulate her photos. become art to make Alan think she died. go to the dark place and help him and saga #that last video left me Speechless it was so good.#esp after how much I disliked Control (spoilers here) for quickly ending with Dylan in a coma and not much else.#could not be happier with how the AW2 ending played out and the clear love for all its characters #REALLY hope that Control 2 ends in a good or interesting place. give dylan some focus!#not tagging this bc I’m just yelling my thoughts. but knowing tumblr it will somehow be seen on every tag 😵‍💫
