finished my Durge run. i feel like it ended too quickly this time whereas i felt my first playthrough lasted forever!! idk maybe i rushed things. anyway, final batch of screenshots:

starting off with Wyll appreciation :] the prettiest boy of the gate. i'm really disappointed though because, this time around i went for the duke ending to get more Wyll content than last time (last playthrough he left with Karlach) but it bugged out and the game gave me nonsense dialogue during the reunion party. (game seemed to think i was playing origin Lae'zel?? and he asked me how the fight against Vlaakith was going. come ON.)

idk why the game decided to take Yasham's tattoos away during the final fight :( a shame because the lighting there is so good (lol. priorities.) and i got some good screenshots of my boy out of it! i'll miss him a lot.

karlach turning into a mindflayer absolutely wrecked my heart but i'll probably write a whole about that. i still feel sick over it tbh. i honestly feel like Yasham would avoid seeing her after the final fight because he can't forgive himself for letting her do that and would cry himself to sleep after talking to her in the reunion. (well that's how i felt.) i'm glad the game gives you the dialogue option to say 'sorry i haven't reached out to you' to her because i could totally see how a tav/durge wouldn't be able to look at her again without remembering the 'old' karlach and feeling awful. i think it soured the whole party for mine.

AU game 1! 5 headcanons for an AU where Tamaki is (inexplicably) a vegetarian, and the Quirks he manifests from eating all his veggies leads him to intern with Kamui Woods instead?

1- Tamaki is a vegetarian because when he was very little and it first manifested, he grew chicken feathers and was so terrified that he was actually turning into a chicken that would be killed and eaten too, he never touched any meat again. This is in spite of his mother having the same quirk as him and telling him that won't happen, but anyway. Instead he uses vines for reach and thorns for attack

2- his hero name is still Suneater, from Mirio's suggestion, and his hero costume is similar, but kinda leans more "forest elf" I guess- green accents instead of purple. Tamaki is relieved when Kamui Woods approves of him wearing a mask that fully hides his face, instead of a transparent visor.

3- Tamaki takes some supplements due to being vegetarian, including iron. This means he's able to manifest iron as a shield, but tends to only do it as a last resort because it really upsets his stomach. Kamui Woods saw this one time and asked if he could manifest other things not just plants, and had he tried meat before? Tamaki panics and bluescreens while saying he can't, leading Kamui Woods to believe that in a trade-off for his quirk, Tamaki can't even digest meat, let alone manifest anything.

4- Kamui Woods is an interesting mix of private and public- keeps a lower profile from his current home and life, but also had a documentary about his apparently horrible childhood made. Tamaki approves of the former, but not the latter, so while Kamui is a great mentor for fighting technique and rescue strategy, he's not quite getting through to him about any publicity.

5- In his second year, Tamaki and Kamui were on patrol after school when a sludge villain attacked a middle schooler, who caused several fires in retaliation. Kamui Woods was unable to get close due to the flames, and Tamaki prioritized rescue over combat, meaning he was running low on any food by the time he turned to consider fighting Sludgy. Then another middle schooler ran out in front of him and tried to help, and then All Might showed up, and Tamaki held it was the most terrifying day of his life for over a year.

+1- (Until the day he's called in to talk to 1A, which he was happy to do instead of going to his internship, which has been different since Kamino and Kamui rocketing up in the rankings, Tamaki does not like change and he likes the publicity increase even less, and he sees those two middle schoolers again, in that class All Might teaches sometimes, and they're asking him too many questions and scowling at him and they were there that day and at Kamino and here now, and nope, they're cursed, he's not dealing with that, he's out of here, Nejire let go of his arm, he wants to go to 1B and get the vine girl to join the internship to take the focus off him, please no Mirio he just wants to leave-)

(HAAAAA PEAK SMILES WERE HAD WHEN GIVING RIDDLER HIS COMEUPPANCE IN EACH AND EVERY ARKHAM GAME, TBH. I mean I love Eddie lots, but MAN was he one punchable weasel in all of those games except probably Origins. Definitely helped 'inspire' you to get all of those collectables though, I'll say!

As for comfort food... Probably the coconut rice pudding I accidentally made one time? I was trying to make actual coconut rice but 'failed miserably' and made coconut rice pudding instead haha. It was GOoOOoOD THOUGH, got a stomachache from over-eating the stuff! xD)

nothing like staying up aggressively late to finish a book that you don't realize till halfway through is kind of infuriating and wrong and yet you have to see the end so you can close the lid on the fury vs. the healing joy of going off to read a book and then reading it all in one sitting because it was glorious and exactly suited to what you needed to read at that moment!

I always find it kind of funny what some other ppl consider "slow burn". Like I've been reading a fic that the writer repeatedly said was slow burn, but some 40k words in and they've had their first kiss...

I'm not complaining, but that just doesn't feel like that slow of a burn to me lmao. But Then Again, this is coming from the person who writes some of the slowest of burns... not the slowest, mind you, but like. In discacc, I'm pretty sure their first kiss happened around... what, 400k words in? Something like that. And they hadn't even officially Met (in person) until like some 70k words in.

And Then there's ITNL. Currently 74k words, and Wolfwood hasn't even officially entered the story yet.

We're in for the long haul, y'all :]

Okay bear with me here–Dijkstra should have been Jaskier's weird crush in S3, not Radovid.

Radovid turns out to be SO awful, anybody who goes to the games after the show is going to be perplexed and sad. Radovid begins and supports a witch hunt that moves seamlessly into an attempted genocide. I'm restarting the third game because I accidentally messed up the chance to assassinate him because when he's gone the world becomes provably better. He's a monster.

They had to age him up and change his relationship with the king from son to brother, both of which mean there's no real regency and any of his ire at Philippa and Dijkstra manipulating him is going to be plainly stupid and make him a worse person in the end, because he's an adult man when he assumes the throne and he should be able to think for himself.

Jaskier's astonishment at his own feelings is weird and rushed. Maybe I'm too ace for this but I don't understand the distinction between the way he seemed to be pining over people before and the way he pines over Radovid. I feel like a more interesting choice would have been for Jaskier to get caught up in the force of personality of someone who's not traditionally pretty and swooning over him.
