listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN
I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.
I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.

This is my copy of Good Omens. It was like this when I got it, sometime back in the 90s. Probably came from a library sale or something similar.
I take very, very good care of my books, but I sincerely love how absolutely wrecked this copy is. Whenever I read it, little pieces of the cover flake off. It's so part of how the book *is* to me that pristine, new copies weird me out.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure this one did time in the Bentley. This is, in all likelihood, what would actually happen to a book that got left in there.

One hilarious thing about detco movies is that they usually play an anti-piracy warning beforehand, and it's always so ironic when Kaito appears in them. I firmly believe Kaito would want you to pirate as much as possible actually

No wonder Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves hasn’t taken over the collective hive mind of Tumblr, there are so many tag variations to keep track of and even I think it’s a ridiculous amount of work to sift through them all. Just in the reblogs of my own post I’ve seen people interpret it as dndhat, d&d hat, honor among thieves, dungeons and dragons honor among thieves, dungeons & dragons: honor among thieves, D&D movie just to name a few

Everyone thinks we can solve any problem with magic. There are limits! This isn't some bedtime story; this is the real world!

wish the DnD movie had Edgin lie about his backstory, which is literally what I thought was the case until like an hour into the film when I was like "oh my god they're serious", and also wish that Simon (who I do like as a character) gave up one of his two personal development plots so that the druid (whose name I'm truly incapable of remembering because she is never allowed to influence the narrative in the slightest outside of becoming animals when needed) could have a single personal development plot, and also I wish all the laziest writing choices weren't all piled on female characters. Except Holga, who rules. I have no complaints about Holga. I love Holga. But also it's 2023, we don't need a dead wife who smiles at you from underneath your white bedsheets and who died because of her husband's mistake and is also not resurrected by her husband by his choice. Like clearly Holga is the person who should have been resurrected in that scene, resurrected Dead Wife would have been a wild narrative choice, but it really does finish her arc as Woman Who Exists Solely For Chris Pine's Character. All fiction backstory wives know how to do is have baby, keep house, make ham-fisted metaphors extremely clear in case the audience has never seen a film before, and lie (dead on the ground, gently stabbed yet smiling peacefully at her husband).
And this was all so avoidable because Edgin the Bard should have been Extremely Divorced. That's the backstory he clearly was supposed to have. The heist is for child support.

joker literally gets an attempt on his life by akechi and he still forgives him. he could have ruined everything, and yet joker still has innate compassion for everything that's happened to akechi and why he makes the choices he does. I'm so normal about them. ALSOOO I saw a post talking about how akechi's confidant has to be max to keep the progression of the story going, so it basically equates to that closeness being a canon part of the story and i am unwell about it,..,.

Persona 5 × Omori 🗡
Been having a good time drawing the Phantom Thieves in the Omori game style! So I wanted to put all the ones I've done (so far) side by side ✨️
