Weirdly specific things I think would win you resistance points in farcry 5
Calling any of the brothers a little meow meow (especially John)
Hacking outpost speakers to play baby shark on loop
Talking over any of them or repeating what they say mockingly as they monologue
Befriending a judge
Getting John wet, this could be anything from trying to baptize him to spraying him in the face with a super soaker
Spraying Jacob with Febreze
Flashing any of their security cameras
Graffitiing cult trucks with hot pink spray paint
Making a your mom joke at any of them (especially Joseph)
Getting hot sauce or bbq sauce on Faith’s dress
Making a ligma joke at John
Whatever the results of giving Sharky coke and illegal fireworks would be

Hello again Archivist! I don't know who decided I was the person to carry their mail, but a mysterious hooded figure caught me as I was getting out of class and asked me to drop this off with you. The library is on my way to where I was going, so I figured, why not? Anyways, here you go!
A piece of heavy cream paper, slightly rough at the edges like it was handmade rather than mass produced. The writing is in an elegant, loopy cursive, written in midnight blue ink that shimmers slightly when it catches the light.
For the Courageous:
A sign read in the data corruption of a member's Tamagotchi, which Jimothy tried to eat before discovering the device wasn't to it's taste. No one is really sure WHY Jimothy decided the Tamagotchi was edible, and the plastic casing now has... a lot of teeth marks, but that's beside the point.
On the night of the first new moon this August, an opportunity will arise. The Gentry of the autumn court host their annual end of season ball on this night, but it is not their company that the bold should seek. A smaller celebration, hosted by and for less easily categorized Fair Folk, will be occurring on the shores of the Unsea. Lit by fire that is not fire, this gathering is open to any who wish to participate. Take your wards and tell your RA where you're going, but the Gentry at this party are there to bargain, and you won't get more favorable conditions on any other night.
Good luck.
Fondly,
The Council of Heralds
P.S. We are accepting donations of any Touched electronics by leaving them in the dumpster behind the Computer Science building, which we will be going through anyways, or by campus mail. Just tell the nice knight behind the counter that it's for the Council of Heralds, and we'll get it.

Okay so your posts last night about the Chanah Davar theory have me thinking. What if Taln wasn't the one that broke and left damnation. He thinks he is, but what if it was Chanah. Couldn't bear with the torture after having run from it for so many years. Something I'd never considered before but now I'm thinking that could be what happened.
It is very important to note that Taln did not break. Brandon said it in sometime
Tumblr media
And in the coppermind here
Tumblr media
And this quote from Oathbringer chapter 38.
Tumblr media
So that could be very correct. Either way some herald died on the night of Gavilars feast, withstood only about 6 years of torture, and broke, returning to Roshar and bringing Taln with them. Or the oathpact just weakened on its own but if so why then. Why this specific time and not any other time in the 4500 years since he went to Braize?

Today's Theme Song: He Saw what I could be
A loser without direction I drifted aimlesslyOn the backside of a place called nowhere forgotten by humanityWhen they talked about potential they did not refer to meFor everyone could clearly see what I was I’d always becho. But He saw not what I was He saw what I could beWhen He reached His hand to where I was He took a chance on meFor all He had to hope for was just a possibilityStill He saw not…

So happy to finally show off my final piece for the Tome of Pacts zine I feature in.
This is Hagne, the Herald of Rot, and faithful servant to her Patron, Cicardia. Her look was inspired by several things -- death masks, pomegranates, worn bronze, flies and centipedes. The butterflies she carries feed on death and decay. Hagne herself felt the cold embrace of the grave, but was blessed to find herself given another chance. She will not fail.
I am so honored to have been a part of this project, and this is one of my favorite pieces to date. I hope you guys enjoy it as well. :)

Questioner: Why or how are the Heralds the only ones we've seen so far that are affected by magical maladies due to either their high Investiture or long lives?
Brandon Sanderson: I would argue the Fused are having the same situation, so they're not the only ones. The why and how... there's a whole host of things going on here. Like a lot of physical and mental illness, it's not one thing or the other. But it is a compound of other things.
One is going so long without certain protections that you kind of need to take. The human being's soul might be immortal, depending on your argument in the cosmere. (That's really up to you.) But they certainly aren't meant for thousands of years of existence, the same way that our bodies aren't. There's some of that.
There's some of the things they've been through. Like, legit trauma; this is not all simply a magical ailment. You've got people with PTSD, layers of PTSD on top of layers of PTSD, for thousands of years, bearing things that no human being without their level of Investiture would even be able to bear. You've got that manifestation, you've got their own sense of guilt.
And these things are all just kind of overlapping together with the fact they've been alive for so, so very long. And a lot of the people that you've seen otherwise have not been alive nearly... orders of magnitude more for the Heralds. The only people you've seen that are that old are: some of the dragons, Hoid, and Vessels of various Shards. And you're basically at that group. And this is a group who knows what they're doing. Either they were built like the dragons, this is part of their innate nature, that they are functionally immortal. Or you are getting the Shards. Or you're getting people that are 300 years old, which is a very different thing, cosmere-wise, than having lived for thousands and thousands of years, part of it being torture.

Someone on Reddit (u/AlfLandonFuckYou) made some cool af flags for each of the 3 regions in fc5! (Here’s the link to OP)
Tumblr media
Holland Valley
Tumblr media
Henbane River
Tumblr media
Whitetail Mountains
They even explained the symbolism of the flags, and it’s really cool!
“All the colors in the flags are based off the ones found on the banners hanging around the respective region's outposts.
Holland Valley - A Bible defaced with the Project at Eden's Gate cross. The "Yes" is a reference to John's quirky catchphrase.
Henbane River - The green represents the rivers and bodies of water that are contaminated with bliss. The black above represents sin, with the white representing redemption after washing away your sins in the bliss.
Whitetail Mountains - The red represents the wrath of those who want to tear down The Project. The shield represents the militarism that characterizes Jacob.”
Anyway thought this was worth a share!

Brown University students are launching an indefinite hunger strike for Palestine
they are asking for their university to divest from companies profiting from the genocide in gaza and openly call for a ceasefire and will not eat until the university governing bodies hears and considers a divestment resolution. if you are not familiar with the physical toll a hunger strike takes on the body, it might be worth looking up to get a better sense of what a significant action these students are taking. the university's highest governing body is having their first meeting of 2024 on february 8-9th so let's rally around them to muster even more pressure on brown university.
brown university contact page: let's state our support for these students and let brown university know the world will be watching what happens next!
additional reading: coverage of this story in the university's student news paper - get to know some of the hunger strikers

Hello again Archivist!
I swear, I'm going to start charging for delivery. I'm not really sure how, given that I don't know what the person who keeps giving these to me looks like, but I'll figure it out. Here's another letter from our mysterious individual.
A piece of heavy cream paper, slightly rough at the edges like it was handmade rather than mass produced. The writing is in an elegant, loopy cursive, written in midnight blue ink that shimmers slightly when it catches the light. Also, the student offering you the note has a bit of dark blue ink on their left hand. It could have come from the note being wet when they got it, but none of the letters are smudged.
For Lorn, formerly Lightkeeper Lorn,
A sign found in the warped images produced by trying to to play a disc which was once a home movie of a family's ocean vacation. One of the Spring Court Gentry ran their fingers over the disk in contemplation of its silvery surface, and now the original sunny Pacific Ocean has been replaced by fog and restless, roiling water, with only a single light to guide the watcher from the depths.
Your vigil did not go unnoticed, nor did your departure go unmourned. The one for whom you waited gave everything to get back to you, and lost who they were in the process. Their body rests now, in a peaceful grave on foreign shores, purchased by their earring. They were not entirely unmade by the brine. Take comfort in that.
Though many things are too far gone to ever be mended, and what the Unsea takes does not return, there are those whose feet can walk from the foam-flecked beaches with some of themself intact. We advise a course or two in chemistry, while you're re-acquainting yourself with the rest of the world.
Oh, and Archivist, the faint form of a grey wanderer in the mist behind the Lightkeeper whispers to us of words yet to come. Lord Ceranes is no particular friend of ours, so we offer this free of charge: his time will come, and your wait will end. Take heart from the end of Lorn's vigil. All good things to those who wait.
Fondly,
The Council of Heralds
P.S. To those who have inquired; Unfortunately, unless the electronic in question is particularly sentimentally linked to you, AND it was touched as part of a Deal, we cannot ensure that any resulting fortune will be about anything in particular. It's really not that direct, guys, we're sorry.
