Heya! I saw you did matchups and wondered if you could do one for me too! If not that’s ok!
(I prefer Males)
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Straight
Zodiac: Scorpio
Appearance: I’m about 5’5 or 5’6. I have black wavy hair. Tanned skin but not too much. And brown eyes.
Mbti: ISFP
Personality: People say I’m very kind and caring, always putting the needs of those around me first before my own. People say I’m very smart but I think I’m average. I’m very much introverted and would rather keep to myself but around friends I tend to be loud and energetic. I’m usually very soft spoken but around friends it’s a different story. I get scared easily but when I’m with others who are scared I tend to just dive in first.
Likes: Food, Music, Playing games (especially FPS games and horror games despite being scared 😂), Watching videos or shows, Reading
Dislikes: When people make fun of the people I care about, Waking up early, Having to leave the comfort of my home
Love Language:
Giving: Quality time, Acts of service, and Words of affirmation.
Receiving: Words of affirmation, Quality time, Acts of service, and Physical touch.
Extra: Whenever I get anxious (which happens when I’m around people I don’t know cuz social anxiety 🤷🏻‍♀️😭) I tend to fidget with my hands and the strings of my hoodies. When I’m very focused I tend to hum or let out noises.
(That’s all! I’m sorry it’s so long!! Thanks for hearing me out! Have a good night or day!!)
i pair you with…
Hex Haywire!

Anti-Cheat and Online Game Dev
The best way to avoid cheating is simply to not give anything to the player that would allow them to cheat.
Sounds simple, right? But the problem lies in the data we transmit online. In order to lessen the bandwidth an online game takes; some provisions are given to the game client.
<aside>The "client" is the app that the player uses to access the game.</aside>
The game is hosted on some web server, and the data is typically secured, and the client can only send certain commands while the server filters out anything the player shouldn't be allowed to do.
In order to save server space, memory, and processor cycles as much code reduction is done as possible in order to ensure the game is fast enough for many simultaneous players. The more the code loops, the more complex the calculation the server needs to do; the more expensive it is.
And so the server can't be as secure as we would like it to be.
Map hacks, and access to certain NPC data, is logged and stored in the client. Generic stuff that the player could read with notepad or a hex editor. They're in the script files and other places in the client installation.
But some things require communication with the server; Interactions, buying/selling, storing items, loot boxes, etc... all need to be done on the server so that the player doesn't loose their experience, their loot, and so the player can't duplicate items or change their stats.
Many games have reduced the actual stats they store server side and simply show the player a *fake* status page, since many things are reliant on things like player level and class. But the game will show you a complete status page just so that it feels more "authentic".
This was one of the early reductions in the shift from client side multiplayer games to online and MMO style games.
Many MMOs reduce the kinds of commands, and are very very gated.
FPS and other competitive games however still have a lot of client side control. As I've stated before with the [obj.lookAt(obj2)] there's a lot of control given to the player in order for the controls to feel fluid and responsive. And so it's relatively easy to implement an aim-bot without it actually being a bot, per-se.
Even if you remove that command, you can view the position of an enemy, and then tell your character to rotate to that particular direction.
Map hacks are similar things, you can read the map if it's stored on the hard drive, or any portion of the map given to the client. Even in memory and use that data to create an overlay.
This overlay is more or less the exact same thing as a mini-map that a developer would implement on purpose in other games.
The solution for this is to limit what data the client can actually read when it's just out of a certain range. But the tighter that range is; the more data needs to be sent between the client and the server.
Before; this would be mostly a Server issue. But nowadays, the data-bandwidth limitations and data-caps that service providers implement mean that the client has to be cognizant of how much data they're wasting playing a game as well.
Which means that less data can be gatekept by the server, because a player might be charged overages or just be shutout mid game.
So when you're developing a game, you have to be aware that every bit of data that you give a player can be "hacked", read, used, and if it's a competitive environment; give an unfair advantage to some players.
So it's better to implement a system that uses all that data in a way that discourages using external tools. Or just not give the data to the client in the first place.

Elden Ring mod idea: make Arcane not stupid and weird.
There's two sorceries and one staff that use arcane, one seal and two categories of incantations that use it, and like six or so weapons that scale with it. None of these things share any other connection bc bloodflame, dragons, claymen, albinaurics, and Eaochid are all basically unrelated lorewise.
I like the idea of arcane being utility (item discovery and status buildup and such) so I kinda think it should really lean into that. Arcane should be like attunement in ds2 where leveling it increases casting speed and spell uses.
Arcane as a damage stat is just really weird and feels like a late addition to development bc it doesn't have an heirloom talisman or a crystal tear like the other four damaging stats have, and it has no primary damage type associated with it.
Making arcane solely a utility stat for casters would automatically make it synergize way better than it currently does bc its inclusion in a build would be for min-maxing and tweaking just like endurance and mind already are, plus if you tie it to certain resistances or even apply the fp consumption to AOW you can make it still be useful for non-casters.
hmm. i kind of like this idea tbh, though i don't actually know if i can hijack the cast speed thing to use arcane instead of dex. iirc some stuff like that is hard-coded so i'd need to figure out how to make a .dll mod that hooks into that part of the game .exe
if I can't figure that out, my other idea was to make Arcane dedicated to DS2 style hex spells- as in, a bunch of spells for each catalyst type Only need Arcane as a requirement, and it no longer functions as a status buildup stat (and to compensate, enemy status resistance no longer increases after each application of a status effect). not sure how they'd work Thematically though

@hexes-and-headaches
The corpse toon was back in No Man's land, driving around in her Toontown hearse as she was here to pick off stragglers from the previous assault on the Slave traders base. Some of the smarter ones fled when the attack happened and FP figured that much like cockroaches, if the lights where off, they would return. So the ASG agent waited til the sun was setting to seize the remaining Slavers. Sides, it was also a bit fun to give them the startle of their lives...
Thankfully after a moment, Argus eyes catch the faintest glimpse of movement and light, her artificial parasite adjusting her view, allowing to clearly seeing the remaining Slavers who managed to escape....and they were dragging someone? A missed victim?! FP orders Andy to slow down and stop. This requires a more....tactical approach....

what fountain pen did you get? are fountain pens worth it?
I got a Pilot Vanishing Point with a Medium nib (in blue carbonesque)! It's been a pen I've been looking at for a long time and is my most expensive FP--hence 70% off. All my other FPs are under $30.
I think it depends on what you want to get out of it. Fountain pens are good for if you have fine motor skill issues and have a hard time pressing down a pen, since you need less motion and less pressure for a FP, and they often have much better areas to grip than cheap ballpoints so a lot less wrist problems. They're also economical if you use pens a lot, because you don't have to toss a ton of plastic out every time you run out of ink. Some ballpoint/etc pens are also super expensive for no reason. I think if it's more than a few bucks, I shouldn't have to throw it out after it runs out of ink. This is the primary reason I got my first FP a really long time ago. Fountain pens you can refill the ink, and more than that you can refill the ink with lots of different colors each time. And the ink itself will last you forever. I am still not out of a bottle of black ink I got when I was 16. And neither ink nor the pen has to be expensive! You can get a bottle of ink for less than or around $10 and a decent fountain pen for around $15 or less.
If you don't really write with pens, you press down very hard on your pens and can't write lightly, you often get your papers wet (fp ink is generally not water proof), or you really don't want to have any sort of learning curve, I would say it's really not worth it.
Avoid Noodler's ink, it is horrible for your pen's insides and the owner is...gross, and avoid the Lamy Safari, their quality control is shit and most of the time they need someone to fix the nib and feed before it's usable (plus the grip on it is impossible if you have anything other than the standard pen holding grip). For cheapie pens, try Platinum Preppy, Pilot Metro, Pilot Varsity, or the Jinhao shark pens. For more than $15 but still not breaking the bank, I'd do the TWSBI Eco. For fountain pen ink, literally anything except Noodler's lol. Diamine and Robert Oster are often inexpensive and really pretty. There's a site called ink swatch where if you have a specific color you want, down to hex code, you can search for matching inks! It doesn't have every ink in the world but it's a good starting off point.

Random AU-a-day: Day 2
The thing: Star Wars/The Hex
The twist: Concept Trade
The story: A Murder at Toshi Station
On a dark and stormy night, six videogame characters meet at a bar. Before the night is through, a murder will take place. Do you have what it takes to unravel the mystery of Toshi Station?
Explore six in-depth backstories and unique gameplay experiences as you journey across genres and generations with:
Chewie: Everyone’s nostalgic, retro-platforming fave! His unique grapple-bow traversal mechanic used to be innovative, but ol’ Chewie’s gotten a little long in the tooth. Still, he’ll always be there for you, ready to run, hop, shoot, and swing with a smile on his big, hairy mug.
Captain (your name) Rebel: The biggest badass in the galaxy and legendary hero of sci-fi action FPS. Captain Rebel is a brave leader known for her sharpshooting skills. Lately, though, something has changed. She sees a bigger foe looming than just the infinitely respawning Bug Empire and longs to be more than a puppet, replaying the same battles over and over again.
Old Kenny: A fighting game veteran who has long since fallen from grace. Now he has a second chance at redemption as a DLC character, but he still longs for the elegant meta of a more civilized age.
Lucas Skye: the wide-eyed protagonist of a mobile game rip-off of Tapper where you really do an awful lot of tapping. It’s his first day serving frothy blue drinks to thirsty customers in The Moisture Farm!
Sinn Solo: Wandering outlaw from a postapocalyptic multiplayer survival-crafting game known for its cutthroat PVP. Dodging griefers has made him slow to trust and quick to shoot before getting shot.
Dark Vater: The final boss of the forgotten first installment of a popular turn-based fantasy RPG. The demon lord is at once dangerous and debilitated, as his crude pixel animation severely limits his mobility.

Hex's 2021 Media Thread Archive (2021 Part 2)
Tumblr media
SSSS.Dynazenon was a fun watch I decided to pick up because I had some friends who were really about it. I had watched Gridman before and that one had a slow start but I loved the heart put into it during the later half with Anti and other characters getting some big moments. This sequel was a lot better overall, although I must regret I don't really remember much about it at this point in time so it didn't stick with me that hard. Like most trigger works for me it's a good and fun watch but won't leave me thinking about it forever :P.
Tumblr media
Kamen Rider Blade was a really great watch! Every now and then I'll just binge a Kamen Rider for the hell of it which is how I've gotten a decent knowledge on the series (my favorite is OOO if you were curious) and this one is real special. It introduces maybe my least favorite rider ever who just sucks shit all the time in Mutsuki, who imo doesn't even get that great a resolution, but it also introduces one of my favorite riders ever with Hajime aka Chalice. It's a real slow burn with a lot of ups and downs but the ending is something really special and I just love the suits and belt gimmick of this one :).
Tumblr media
Lobotomy Corporation made me really need to get one after playing it. Because this is Tumblr and my friends are LGBT or allies I don't need to talk too in depth about why I love this game because there's hundreds of other women who will snarl and froth over it. If you're curious my favorite Abnormality is Knight of Despair and my favorite character was either Netzach or Chesed.
Tumblr media
Lobotomy Corporation: Wonderlab. Even more proof I'm definitely normal, I read this entire thing in a day after finishing Lobcorp. I love and adore the designs in this comic and it's really tragic they ended it so soon. But I'd definitely recommend it if you loved the game!
Tumblr media
Blaster Master Zero 3 is one of my favorite games that Inticreates has made. I picked a wonderful time to get into this series as the third game was only a couple months away after I had finished the previous two and it was so exciting actually playing a game the second it released again and going through it all 100% in one sitting. Everything about it just plays so good and I love how well they mixed mechanics with narrative in this one. Also if you know the source of my icon you can tell a certain scene had a big impact on me.
Tumblr media
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is a great way to play FF1 if you don't want any of the bonus content from the GBA/PSP releases but still want some quality of life such as a minimap and generally easier battles. I think when I go for my inevitable FF1 replays I'll probably aim for PSP just cause I actually like the extra content but this is definitely one of the better deals for the pixel remasters if you're interested in checking the series out :).
Tumblr media
Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games I played growing up, and in 2021 I experienced it again using a specific emulator set up to emulate the trilogy and bind your camera movement to the mouse, turning the game into a Mouse and Keyboard style game. While I think the Prime trilogy actually feels like one of the better FPS series to play with controller it was still a fun and easily accessible way to trek through a game I've played before.
Tumblr media
Psychonauts 2 is probably one of the games that's closest to being a perfect sequel that I've ever played. Most the time with these revivals of old IPs you have to temper some expectations after so many years have passed and accept some flaws from the process of making a newer more modern entry but for me this game feels exactly like what I'd want from a Psychonauts sequel and it doesn't lose the heart that made the first game (which is one of my favorite games ever) such a special experience. The narrative was really touching and they really knocked all the different level themes out of the park in such a satisfying way. Please play both of these games if you haven't and can tolerate a 3d platformer with some collectathon elements.
Tumblr media
No More Heroes 3 is a game I don't know how to go about describing why it's so cool and fun to anyone who doesn't know the series and already get the appeal. Instead of spending forever explaining all that I'll just say the bosses in this one are probably the best in the series in terms of overall quality with no super aggressive difficulty spikes but some can still get you if you're careless. In particular my favorite is the "RPG" boss fight the dialogue is so goofy in that one.
Tumblr media
Touhou Luna Nights doesn't try to hide it's inspirations (like all Touhou fangames really) and instead creates a really unique Castlevania-themed game focused around throwing a megaton of knives in various ways and finding out how to interact with everything using time slowdown/stop mechanics. The game can be pretty tricky trying to learn how to manage all your resources but after enough upgrades and time spent it's extremely easy to shred through enemies (and even bosses) in a very satisfying way. Any game where you can stop time and stand on your own knives as platforms will always be cool.
Tumblr media
Warioware Get it Together was a fun timesink and had pretty good systems in place to get you to replay a bunch of microgames with its online elements, but unfortunately I never really spent as much time with it as I wanted to. It was very fun with so many ways to complete every microgame with all these characters who play differently and I hope they keep this series going!
Tumblr media
Touhou Puppet Dance Performance - Shard of Dreams (Extended) - is the last game I'm going to put on this archive post and it's a real special one. While I adore pokemon as a series and am probably one of the people who can't bring myself to dislike an entry in the series, this game combines it with one of my biggest interests in such a special way that it's probably my favorite Touhou fangame as well as my favorite Pokemon fangame. Even with official content only there's characters from Every Single Game (and even the books!) from Touhou 1 all the way to 12 (15 with shard of dreams), and there's a very high quality mod in SoD Extended that adds in all the missing characters so you can play with all of them, as well as balancing trainers around all the new content they add for these characters and making the game less of a stomp and sometimes an actual real challenge. The customization of a puppets EVs (and eventually IVs) along with being able to freely switch natures and learn/forget moves as long as you have enough points means that there's a very high chance no two playthroughs will ever feel alike, and the typing chart fits in really well with no types feeling too powerful compared to the other cause no matter what there will always be a trainer that just folds one of your puppets out of nowhere. As a bonus while I sign this post off, for my playthrough I used a gimmick team where I could only have one puppet from every 3 games (ex: if i choose sakuya i can't use any other puppets from 4-6, if i choose nazrin that's 10-12, etc.) and it ended up being both a bit of a challenge but also very fun to try and get good type coverage. See y'all in the next archive which should be the final one for 2021!

Steam
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
何が起きているんだ
Inscryption 普通にすごく面白いカードゲームだと思う。バレあり感想 Inscryptionをやったら同作者の前作The Hexもオススメ
Immortality Her StoryのSam Barlowさんの最新作。 Marissa Marcelという行方しらずとなった女優について、一度も日の目を見なかった彼女が出演した映画3作、レイトナイトショーのインタビュー、舞台裏などの映像を順々に見ていってパズルピースをはめていき、何故映画は一度も放映されなかったのか、Marissaに何が起きたのか、彼女はどういう人物だったのか、というところを紐解いていく。 人が考える「美術」、「宗教」、「自己」にある地続きな永続性、というかそんなものある?みたいなところをぼんやり考えさせられる。Her Storyをやったことがある人ならどことなく入りやすいかもしれない。
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ほっこりしたい
Coffee Talk ファンタジー設定なシアトルでコーヒー屋さんをやりながら色んなお客さんと出会うビジュアルノベル(?)。 それぞれの種族間にある文化や価値観の違いに苦しむカップル、通じ合え無い親子、「地球」で番を探す宇宙人、いろんな人たちと関わり合いながら自身の創作と向き合うライターなど、様々な悩みや人生を聞いて会話しながら、温かいコーヒー一杯だけ飲んでちょっと息をつく作品。Episode 2も1をやったらオススメ。
Unpacking 「引っ越しの後の荷ほどき」がゲーム、すごく地味に思えるテーマなのに環境から伝わってくる主人公の人柄とストーリーが温かい。 部屋をキレイにすると心がスッキリする気がするけど、そんな「禅」な気持ちを少し得られる。好きなものとか大事にしたいもので部屋をいっぱいにできて、それを一緒に大事にしてくれる人といれるのは素敵だよねと思う。
Citizen Sleeper(日本語未対応・対応予定不明) 衰退した資本主義コントロール下にある宇宙のコロニーで目を覚ます半分メカなSleeperという主人公の視点で描かれるSFヒューマンドラマ。 日毎にダイスがランダムで決まり、そのダイス結果を使ってミッションやクエストを進めていくTTRPG的なゲームプレイの中で、コロニー内で出会うキャラクターたちの生き様や思想を感じ触れていって、プレイヤーであるSleeperの行動を一つひとつ決定していてしっかり「生きていく」感じがとても良かった。 文体も非常に読みやすく、現実に存在する社会体制について風刺も感じるディストピアン的な面もありながら、そんな中で毎日を必死に生きようとする人たちの群像劇的な見せ方がすごく面白くて大事に思える作品。 テキストヘビーな作品ではあるので、日本語対応されることを切に願います。
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
フロムゲーしたい
全部Sale中、しかも今回は前年のGOTYでDLCも予定されてるElden Ringまでお得なんて…すごい…… Dark Souls Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 3 Sekiro Elden Ring
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
セール関係ないけどTeam Fortress 2 (2007)っていうゲームはFree to PlayなのでSteamのアカウントがあれば誰でも出来ちゃうヒーローシューターらしい…
カオスなゲームにキャラクターと世界観がすごく魅力的ながらロアを描いた公式コミックの最終話が6年出てないなんてそんなことあるんでしょうか。
I’ve been thinking about that thing Timothy asked me about what fandoms my self-insert, Benjamin Maltee was in. So I decided to just list what fandoms I’m in in general with reasons why. This post will probably be updated as I get into more fandoms, just sayin’.
Minecraft - I like the idea of sandboxes and being able to forge your own story. And the lore is interesting. Terraria - Ditto. But I find the lore even more convoluted and even more interesting. Portal/Half-Life - Again, interesting lore. That’s the case for a lot of fandoms I’m in, I’m just realizing- TF2 - I love the goofiness it brings to the table as an FPS game of all things. It’s pretty much the only FPS I play. DSMP - I’ve kinda stepped down from this because of various dramas surrounding it, but I still really like the story that’s happened within it, interesting stuff. Hollow Knight - The lore here is so interesting and has so much potential to be expanded upon, which I’ve done with my own kingdom, Sundritout. I’m sure I’ll probably make stuff about it at some point lol Just Shapes and Beats - It has minimal story, but I’ve still been able to build off of it by so much, and that’s what I love about it. Also the music, the music fuckin’ rocks. Inscryption/The Hex - Very interesting games with interconnected lore still being expanded upon. Exciting stuff! Fortnite - Despite all the memes and shit, Fortnite is actually a really fun game for me to play, along with fun lore to explore as an added bonus! Among Us - Same as above- I’ve even made an entire AU about this game, it’s very fun stuff I might explore at some point on here. Bendy - I love everything about the games, you can just see how much love was put into every janky animation and texture. Even though there’s some drama surrounding it, it’s still a game I love. Mario - Yahoo! Despite how goofy it may sound, I’ve been having a blast piecing together this franchise’s lore with help from different sources; super interesting stuff! And with the movie fast approaching, now is the best time to get into the games. Doors - Very very fun game that I think utilizes Roblox’s game creation tool perfectly. If you changed the player character models and stuff like that, it could be its entirely own original game separate from Roblox, that’s how utterly amazing it is.
That’s about it for now, at least it’s what I can remember. Hopefully this finally answers your question, Timothy!
