Marcille pointing to Kahka Brud: Everyone comes to the island through this neighboring town. It's the biggest one in the area. The Magic School Falin and I went to is there too.
Cythis pointing west talking about the canaries: We came from a city on the continent that lies northwest of here. Of the human races there 80% are elves. 20% are "other."
Kabru pointing east (tiny Kuro with Mickbell on his shoulders besides him): Utaya is… was far to the east of here. Humans and Demihumans are still fighting over the territory. Kuro came from that area as well.
Shuro point downwards east: The Eastern Islands are scattered to the southeast of here. There aren't many longlived races, and there's constant internal strife and wars between islands.
Tiny Izutsumi and Rin: We all have roots on different islands.

(Not dissing any season, just going off what I’ve noticed online, I am making no comment on any season)
Not including Crystalized cause then entire poll would be just THAT
Also if you’d like to, I’d love to hear what an improved version of these seasons would look like

So I recently re-watched The Island special-
How does the whole 'Gift of Jay' thing go down in the Cabinet Man AU? I've seen some cool concepts that the food Jay was given was like... mildly drugged so he was more loopy/pacified for the sacrifice (as well as a small mercy so he wouldn't feel the pain of Wojira)
And I'm curious- any plans to add some extra storm-connections to the Island/Seabound because of the purple lightning and Wojira's connections to storms?
first part of this - Gift of Jay is funny because Jay's already used to being seen as an idol so he does have an "ohohoho wow i'm so popular even people who haven't HEARD of me know i'm a celebrity~" but he does get more anxious than normal about the others being taken from him. it takes a bit more flattery to convince him not to freak out when he's separated from the others. i could totally see him being drugged and loopy and i might go that route but... let's just say he won't exactly like it when he realizes he's been drugged as a certain villain that i'm sure we can guess does it to him prior to this (not elaborating but jay recognizes when he's being drugged now huehue)
and YES GOD YES OKAY i'm not gonna go too deep into it cuz this post will get so long but there will absolutely be connections between wojira and the purple lightning, it was such a missed opportunity in the show and with the way i want to handle jay's element it'll be verrry relevant
like come ON ninjago you can't do this and then not have there be a bigger connection:

Island 4
Find the series masterlist
This one doesn't have a lot of the guys, but it's an important chapter to see some of the dangers of the Island that the audience hasn't seen before, as well as some of the layout, and some of her thoughts.
Warnings: dark thoughts, dinos think people look tasty, more dark thoughts, swearing, violence, blood mention, gross pseudo medical stuff based off Ark.
Word count: 1.8k

From base, you knew the route. You needed a leech, which meant the swamp. If you were lucky, you'd find one on the outskirts of the swamp, and wouldn't have to wander far into dangerous territory.
Ripper moved fast, eating up the distance as you guided him over a little hill and back down. The river burbled along next to you, deceptively mild here. But it did make life easy - you just had to follow the river down to a low spot.
You didn't often come this direction or this far inland. Right along the river was usually safer, but that was never a guarantee. Even as you and Ripper ran past, you spotted a carno in the distance, busy hunting some phiomia.
Better them than you.
Sweat beaded on your forehead and the nape of your neck, the sun hotter here than on the coast. You grimaced and blinked sweat out of your eyes, unwilling to pause even for a moment.
At a guess, you still had a few hours of sunlight left. Not enough to get to the swamp and back. You'd have to decide if you wanted to stop for the night or try to push through.
But first you needed the leech.
The river turned, flowing down towards the swamp. You pulled Ripper to a halt, looking around. You needed to cross the river, and if you remembered right there was a slow, shallow spot just up ahead.
You didn't even spot any predators right here. Well. Apart from one dilophosaur. But that hardly counted, being so small.
Just up ahead the river spread out a bit, but became quite shallow. Just as you thought. Much too shallow for any water creatures. Especially piranha.
You hated piranha.
Ripper shifted his weight, making a soft almost chittering noise. Inquisitive.
“Yeah,” you murmured, patting his neck. “Just checking, bud. We're gonna keep going.”
He took off as soon as you clicked your tongue, splashing through the shallow water and off the other side. Sand flew up behind the two of you as he ran.
Your plan was to stick to the river as much as possible, follow it down to the swamp.
But so much was hanging on luck, on chance. You hated that.
A screech behind you nearly made you turn and look. Instead you hunkered down lower and nudged Ripper faster, cursing under your breath in one low, continuous stream.
Ripper leaped over a fallen log, making you cling tighter to the reins and saddle. But the screech of the raptor pack behind you faded as they found less troublesome prey.
Breathing a little easier, you straightened up, looking around. Still next to the river, still headed towards the swamp. The trees to the side of the river were slowly transitioning, the ground beneath Ripper's feet turning more muddy.
You slowed his progress forward as the quality of the light changed. Not only was the sun slowly lowering, but the permanent haze around the swamp made it harder to see. You grimaced, displeased.
But it couldn't be helped. You needed that leech to help Soap.
A sharp pang of worry made your heart clench in your chest. Titanoboa venom was nothing to take chances with. It could be deadly from one bite if left untreated.
Thankfully, you knew how to make the antidote. Unfortunately, leech blood was nearly impossible to keep.
At least you didn't live on the far side of the island. That would have made this journey much worse, and longer.
Ripper chittered again, tossing his head. He couldn't run forever.
“I know,” you soothed, patting his neck. “Need a water break?” You didn't want to, but you also didn't want to run him into an early grave. That would be disastrous.
You picked a spot at the river to stop, dismounting to let Ripper drink his fill. You kept your gun in hand, looking around while you let Ripper rest.
This damn island tried to kill everyone. But you wouldn't let it kill you, not while you were still needed.
Antidote for Soap first. Everything else after.
You took a few gulps from your canteen while you were dismounted, especially since you didn't intend to stop again until you found a leech. You didn't have the stomach for food right now, so you skipped that.
Ripper would need a big meal after this. Maybe you'd take him down to the beach and let him loose on some dodos.
Ripper nudged his head up under your hand to let you know he was ready to go again.
“Good boy,” you murmured, treating him to a quick scratch along his jaw. “Okay, let's get going again.” It took you a moment to swing back up into the saddle, muscles a little uncooperative after such unusual activity for you. But you managed it, settling again and clicking him on.
The closer you got to the swamp, the lower the sun sank, the more your hope dwindled. Oh, you'd find a leech, you had no doubts about that. But before sunset? Unlikely.
Which left you with two unpleasant and dangerous options: find somewhere to wait out the night, or run through the night.
You'd figure it out after you found a leech.
You slowed Ripper at the edge of the swamp, the low light making it harder to see. But you didn't want to pull out your flashlight yet, unwilling to potentially draw predators to you.
Ripper hissed at something in the water, and you looked down. A leech, oily black and as long as your forearm, wiggled nearer in the shallow water. With a triumphant noise, you dropped out of the saddle and pulled out the bag you'd brought just for the leech. That way you wouldn't have to touch the thing.
It took longer than you wanted to admit to get the leech in the bag. It wriggled away from you at first, and then tried to latch on to your leg. As you were prying it off your pants, it twisted and tried to grab your arm instead.
Fortunately, you were faster, and got it into the bag. Tying the bag shut, you took a moment to breathe and let your heartbeat come back down closer to normal.
“Okay,” you murmured, half to yourself, half to Ripper. “Sun is almost down. We could get somewhere away from the swamp for the night. Or we could try to run straight through.”
Ripper chirruped at you, nudging your shoulder with his head. Big eyes blinked at you once, his tail swishing back and forth with impatience.
“Right.” You took a deep breath and tied the leech bag to the side of the saddle before hoisting yourself to again. “We're gonna run for it. I don't want to make Soap wait any longer than needed.”
Ripper made a sort of purring noise, prancing in place before you nudged him forward. He took off, undoubtedly eager to get back home.
The crash behind you made you think you'd narrowly avoided disaster. You didn't look back.
The sky overhead turned pinks and oranges with the sunset, and you clenched your jaw. You'd only run through the night twice before, with good reason.
Nighttime was when the predators were harder to spot, and every bit as active.
The one good thing about this island was that the stars and moon gave you enough light to see, at least some. You held off as long as you could on pulling out your flashlight. But eventually it was too dark, Ripper slowing to a nervous jog.
Speed won over caution, and you clicked on your flashlight. The bright light illuminated the path ahead of you, and Ripper sped back up.
It also allowed you to see eyeshine in the bushes off to the side.
You swore, but Ripper was past it before it had a chance to attack. You breathed a little easier.
But not much.
Nighttime was dangerous on the Island, something you were keenly aware of. That, and the discomfort of riding, kept you awake, even as exhaustion pulled at your limbs. A carno gave chase for a little while, the thunder of its heavier footsteps spurring Ripper faster. Until you crossed the river, cold water splashing all the way up your calves, shocking and sudden. The carno appeared unwilling to cross, turning away from its pursuit.
Now wet and cold, you just clenched your jaw and held tight to the reins. This would be worth it. You'd get back in time to make the antidote, Soap would survive, and things would be fine.
You just had to make it back to the base.
Sunrise was just tinting the horizon pink and gold when you slowed Ripper, the gate in view. You swung down from the saddle, stumbling and nearly falling, half-numb and exhausted. But you pulled the gate open on your own, guiding Ripper through and back to his paddock.
“Sleep,” you murmured to the raptor, removing his saddle and reins. “You deserve it.” With one last affectionate pat, you closed the paddock again. Ripper was already settling down, finding a spot to sleep.
You left the saddle in a heap to deal with later, grabbing the leech bag. Time to make up some antidote.
Three heads swiveled to look at you as soon as you stepped inside, and Gaz was pushing to his feet immediately.
“I got it,” you told them before anyone could ask, striding over to the cooking area. “I need clean water.”
Gaz jumped to his feet, bringing over water and pouring until you told him to stop. You added the leech blood, then dug through your supplies to find the specific dried leaves you needed.
The whole concoction needed to sit and boil for a few minutes, so you took the chance to wash off your hands and toss the dead leech in for Ripper to snack on.
Two more ingredients, both of which you had on hand, a quick stir, and you carefully poured some into a glass.
“He needs to drink this,” you said, half to Gaz, half to Price, since those two seemed to be paying attention. Ghost seemed completely focused on Soap. “Then rest more. It will take a few hours to work.”
“I've got this,” Gaz said, taking the cup. “Why don't you sit down?”
You shook your head, instead hovering over his shoulder as all three men worked together to get Soap to drink the admittedly vile antidote.
Once the cup was empty, you finally relaxed. You stumbled, exhaustion hitting you like a brachy now that you were done. Gaz said something to you, but you couldn't quite hear him. You blinked slowly, once, and sank down to the floor.
You were out before you were fully reclined.
