do Mushroom Oasis and Lift Your Spirits take place in the same universe? (if they do, is it the same mc just at different times in their life?)
Maybe! ::-) But it's definitely not the same MC!

fucked-up fic idea:
Y'know that one hannigram time travel au where they both travelled so far back in time that Will woke up as a 10 year old and Hannibal was able to rescue Mischa??
Well what if: A) Hannibal was much younger when Mischa died (more like 12), and B) they had the same age-difference as Mads and Hugh?
That would mean Will waking up, potentially, trapped in his infant body rather than his child body?? and being stuck that way for years until he can grow up again? 😬 And what if Hannibal knew that would probably happen, but did it anyway??

if it were up to ME i would have pulled the teen o5 to the present day like. pretty much immediately after charles faked his death and while everyone still thought he was dead. bc then to me you get the fun thing of the o5 x-men being forced together in the future at a time when they are becoming more separated in their present, and you also get the fun dynamic of all the x-men in the 'present' being mad at scott for killing xavier while all the o5 x-men are mad at jean for lying about xavier being dead.

this may be an unpopular opinion but personally i think the thing i struggle with regarding the idea of buck and eddie having satisfying romantic arcs apart from each other is that it is possible for sure, but i don't really. see a way for it to happen without some kind of a shift in the relationship they have each other that moves away from the level of intimacy and closeness they have developed over the past six (6!) years.
because, like, obviously you can have meaningful platonic relationships outside of your romantic partner, but even though buck and eddie are not in a romantic relationship their whole deal is also... not platonic. the space that they occupy in each other's lives is. well. it goes beyond friendship (sorry). and as others have pointed out, part of the reason buck and eddie's past relationships (taylor, ana, etc) have felt so lackluster in comparison to their relationship with each other is simply because they just do not have the kind of emotional intimacy with anyone else that they have with each other – and i don't really think you can have it both ways. the relationship buck and eddie have on the show right now can't continue as it is if the goal is to have them both in well-developed, believable romantic relationships apart from each other; something would need to change.
and i mean. they could do this; it's not impossible. but i think would be a mistake, and not just because i think they have a good foundation for a romantic relationship (though i do) – so much of the story they've told with buck and eddie is about two people who were both very alone in different ways meeting and becoming an integral part of each other's lives, and the relationship they have with each other is a really compelling part of the show. so while having them grow apart from that relationship is technically possible, i don't think it would be a good or satisfying choice narratively

image description: a warm-toned traditional drawing with touches of color in it. It has two characters- one is an anthro lynx of thick build, with pale fur & large grey spots on his face, & green eyes. He's wearing a fancy suit including a blue jacket with a floral design. The other character is a small anthro wolf with brown fur, wearing an elaborate Victorian-styled dress. The wolf is leaning towards the lynx with a hand closing around his neck. The lynx is crouching on the ground, looking up at the wolf with a shocked expression. The view of this scene is cut off at their lower legs. End ID.

Okay. In the first arc of House of Slaughter, Aaron gets his fingers sliced off when Jace releases all the totems. They get reattached. Which means there is at least one member of the house who is a fully trained surgeon. Probably a surgery team.
Did these people go to medical school? Did they do residencies? Obviously they're all specializing in emergency medicine or trauma surgery. AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME TATTOOS AND THEY WERE ALL RAISED IN A CULT.
POV you're an attending physician and your new resident is named Dr. Slaughter. Which is unfortunate, but there are lots of doctors with unfortunate names. One of the guys on that "untold stories of the ER" show you hate is named Dr. Slay, whatever. But your new resident Dr. Slaughter is WEIRDLY good at compartmentalizing, normally shiny new residents are a lot more upset the first time a patient dies on them. And Dr. Slaughter had this really cool tattoo. You can only see it when the sleeves of their scrubs ride up, but you could swear one of your classmates in medical school at the same one on their calf...

honestly like, if you asked me what two possible mcyt events could you ever come up with to put communities at each others throats severely, i would've said "election" and "giant pvp event that last multiple days" and it's honestly a little amazing the team didn't see the issues that would so very clearly arise from both of these (though i do think the elections were mostly handled better than other mcyt elections i've seen, most of my issues came down to the way the debates happened, the waaaay too big of a percentage the audience vote had, & the fact the ending date kept being extended). i keep trying to remind myself like things will get better once we move onto a new arc in the server to get over purgatory, and it's been two months...
yeahhh it's like. big moves that frankly from the start we all knew would cause issues. the elections to me was SUCH a red flag like. mcrp elections never go well and it's a miracle they turned out as okay as they did, but the whole process and the aftermath was a bummer and felt deeply unnecessary.
and yeah we've talked about purgatory in gc before but just. i can't even express how awful it was imo and how it continues to fuck the overall narrative as well as individual characters (and the ccs!!). and like you said a huge pvp event (that lasted TWO WEEKS!!!!) with lore stakes makes everyone lose their shit and accuse every other team of being toxic or not caring enough about the nebulous theorized end result-- it was a recipe for disaster, it felt like players were being used to playtest an event, and it was just not fun. like, i loved bolas, im glad they managed to push through it in spite of literally everything, but it sucked so bad several of them had to take long breaks. like, that's not fun.
in general though i am hoping desperately that shit improves, waiting with bated breath for the return of baghera and cellbit (and jaiden and charlie as well eventually!) and for the overall story to feel less railroaded, and i do genuinely want to have hope that it will get better soon. and that they don't pull huge crazy stuff like this again in the future, or at least make it more optional for players to engage with.

I think those of you who have lost people to brain issues will get this, but a year on it still strikes me as a weird thing that my grandma actually died last year. Because the person I loved slipped away so many years ago... so it's like... that person has been dead for nearly a decade. But you never got to really mourn them because technically they were still with you. And then they actually kick the bucket and it's like. But you were already gone. It's like this weird multilevel feeling of grief, and at the same time a small part of you is glad cause it was hard watching them live like that.

Hi! im not sure if you read tags on reblogs. But your recent drawing of Steve in trans colours.. was that meant to be a reference to the Vibes he has, or is it a confirmation of anything...? He'll still be transition goals no matter the answer, but i was just curious how /hj or /srs it was.
It's serious! He's trans. Got transed by werewolves.

Mixed with the fact that Ranni was taught to fear the moon by a heretical snow witch, and the fact that Rennala's lunar magic is called "enchanting" and said to "bewitch" the academy, you have to wonder about Ranni's ending...
Though also interesting is that, while with other spells you're like conjuring phenomena with glintstone, the moon sorceries use your body.
Using the power of life within rather than looking to the stars? This would also fit the way Carians conjure blades instead of glintstone - weapons that people made right here on earth rather than glimpsing into the primordial current.
Hm...the stars also govern fate, but like a black hole the moon sorceries draw in and block incoming spells/stars...so is the power of the moon indeed to circumvent/control fate?

Ok, I'm thinking about like, the logistics of a no-chip au, right because...look, I got into star wars via @bytebun's observer's effect and immediately proceeded to write like 80k of mostly nightmare difficulty trolley problems stacked in trenchcoats, this should not be a surprise.
Anyway as far as I can see it there's basically two options when it comes to like, The Whole Vader Situation in a no-chip au:
Option one, aka the chosen one: right from the start, all the clones know not to kill anakin When The Time Comes, he's Marked Out, he's the Specialist Special Boy and don't you dare let him die he's sheevy's blorbo from the Temple and by the Force he will be the next sith apprentice slash...like, idk, genuinely not sure what sheevy's plan was for if anakin didn't by some unlikely event Fall, possibly just stick him in a robo-suit and sith chemical him into it anyway? mount him on the wall like a trophy?? Weird Unethical Experiment Time??? anyway. Option one is the obvious one, right, like, it's a plan, follow the plan, don't fuckin' kill skywalker, all the other Jedi are fucked though, don't get attached!
Benefits of this are: your entire clone army goes into knowing that like, the jedi general they have is Fucked. their time is Finite. there is an expiry date and if it's not in the war it's, well, at the end of the war. Like having a short lived pet, right, like, it's not a surprise when it dies and you kinda know it's only gonna be around for a year or two so there's only so attached you get. If you hate your jedi general, well, it's temporary! you can grit your teeth and get though the next couple of years knowing that you'll get to see the look on their face when you shoot them. Drawbacks of this are: I mean, I guess if clones actually like their jedi it's kinda bad. you have to depend on every single clone not telling their jedi that psst hey you might wanna skedaddle for Reasons. also like, weird opsec, I assume, about the whole 'One Specialist Boy'.
So that's option one. it's the one I see the most often in no chip aus, which makes sense, cause, like, it's canon, basically. as much as a no-chip is canon, at this point. Works nice, gives a lot of room for crunchy angst/guilt/etc, solid option.
Option two, aka bucket of crabs with magnets: this is the one where anakin is not the specialist special boy ever, the One True Blorbo from the Temple. Or at least, not as far as the clones are concerned, who the fuck cares what skeevy sheev feels for Real. This is the option where all the clones know that -- well, most of the jedi are fucked. Most. Maybe one or two select jedi aren't, though, if they can be... talked around. proved to be worth keeping, under The Glorious Empire, even if it requires....a little bit of reeducation afterwards. The Emperor is on the look out for an Apprentice; a couple of Force sensitive attack dogs would be useful, too.
Benefits of this one are: no clone is gonna spill the beans, right. If you hate your jedi, well, they can die as in option one, grit your teeth and wait for the order to come down, and you 100% don't want them knowing about the possiblity of living into the empire because 1)opsec etc 2)they have to die bc the idea of being in The Glorious Empire but Master Jackass is still fucking around is like. a nightmare. fuck that.
If you like your jedi, though. You're not gonna spill the beans, either. Because you like your Jedi, and that means you want to give them the best possible chance at bein One Of The Chosen Few. Them finding out early will get them killed, or they'll share it with the wrong person and get killed.
It also means every battalion is basically pitted against eachother -- or at least, those who like their jedi are. Bucket of crabs but make it an army; there's only so many spots for force senstives in the empire, and there's a lot more jedi than there are spots. You're working with eachother because you want the empire and because you know everyone else wants the empire and the empire is inevitible, but also, your jedi has to survive. your jedi; not the one from the 414th or the 78th or the 631st the fucking 212th; every bit closer to securing one of those spots someone else's jedi gets is a bit closer to your jedi dying in a hail of blasterfire.
drawbacks of this are: your entire army is aware of the upcoming trolley problem, none of them trust anyone else to not pull the lever, and their solution is to shove each other's jedi in front of the trolley in the hopes that their specific jedi will be on the right side of the tracks when the trolley finally passes the junction. Tie 3 million carthorses to a meat grinder and accept that the most control you're really gonna get is a general direction.
Then again; it's a sith plot. probably having some amount of 3 million clones actively trying to ensure that their specific jedi will be the specifc jedi who survives to be part of the empire will turn out fine. what could go wrong.

I hate my fucking country so goddamn much. I can't stop thinking about killing myself because I have a cavity. I've never had one before so I have no idea how much a filling costs, but there's no way my insurance covers it because it's the dog shit absolute bare minimum free option. And I have no way to pay for any sort of medical bill; I can barely do rent. A cavity is like the most normal medical problem possible and suicide is my first impulse to deal with it because this country is a joke that does absolutely nothing to provide for anyone
