“I’d love to RP but I’m not sure how our muses can interact!”

Need some starter ideas? These might be really useful for muses from different fandoms or canon divergent characters. 

Somehow a muse has crossed into a parallel world or through time and space. Pretty easy thing if magic, miracles, time travel or far future technologies are involved with one of the muses. This makes for plenty of possibilities for one character to explore the world of the other! 

A muse has gotten in trouble. This works great when one muse is a lawyer, doctor, or detective. Plenty of opportunities to use injured memes here. 

Kidnapped! And oldie but really handy if there’s a villain muse, kidnapping someone either because they needed a car and a driver, or to ransom or make a super hero squirm. Bonus points if you kidnap the wrong person!

“I’d like to hire you.” One muse is looking for a new bodyguard, chauffeur, a private detective, nanny, hacker or escort and wants to hire the other muse for their talents. 

Collateral damage. Both muses are in a dangerous situation caused by someone or something else. You didn’t mean to get stuck inside the Disney store at Times Square when a super villain dropped a truck in front of the door, but you are now!

“I needed a change.” A great idea for canon divergent characters, a muse literally moves away from their past life and settles somewhere else. This is a great option for characters that lived through an experience (even though they might have otherwise died) and wanted to get away from what caused it. This also works for someone looking for a fresh start.

✩  INTERVIEW WITH THE MUN  ✩

➊ How many ships do you have on this blog?

          I don’t know, let’s count! I’ve been writing some super fun GabrielxBobby stuff with @multimuse-rp, and that good (complicated) GabrielxDean shit with @awaywardboy-andhisangel and actually... that’s all the canonxcanon ship stuff I’m writing right now for some reason. But that’s not all the ships!  Fulfilling a years long dream (for me) @daedaluscried and I are writing GabrielxAri and she has also indulged some excellet (unrequited) GabrielxEve content, @thxwxlf and I have dabbled in some GabrielxKekipi, and @inferniangod has been kind enough to write GabrielxIfrit with me. 

          I’ve discussed, but not actually written GabrielxSam with @smmie, and I think @hellsmother and I are on track to write some GabrielxRowena (but if I’m not sure I should probably check, whoops).  So that’s six total, eight if you count these last two.  Plus a handful of others where Gabriel is just flirting at people and waiting to see what happens.  Nothing has to happen, he’s just like that.  But something could happen with any of them.

➋ Have you ever roleplayed with someone that just left an unforgettable impression on you?

          Of course!  I’ve been doing this for 10+ years and people have made all kinds of impressions, some amazingly good and others downright awful. I can roll through some nicknames/first names only and proably only Anti will know who I’m talking about because a lot of them are from our shared history on gaiaonline!  I could go on and on about every single one of these people but here’s a quick ‘n dirty list instead: Noir, Kathy, Mariah, Moose, Lyss, Berry, and @daedaluscried!  I’m still occasionally in touch with three of these people (one more often than the other two) which I think is kind of wild all things considered. There’s also some not so good impressions, like guy-who-started-nice-and-then-harassed-me-for-nude-pics and the-person-who-broke-my-trust-and-caused-me-to-stop-writing-smut, but i have put them far far behind me.

➌ Which of your ships on this blog is the fluffiest?

          The fluffiest is probaly Gabriel and Ari now that we’ve gotten into the emotional core of the relationship on both ends.  Which isn’t to say that it’s not a spicy ship with a helping of angst, but... I’ve written more hand-holding with them than with any of the others and I guess that’s my definition of fluff. Also I suspect the gratuitous hand-holding will continue even once they’re past the language barrier. So... FLUFF.

➍ Would you say you’re a decent role player or do you have any self doubts?

          I think I’m a decent writer but my roleplay skills vary depending on the day.  I understand how to set a mood and (usually) how to string a decent sentence together but sometimes the craft that goes into bouncing off of another writer and giving them something to bounce off of in return eludes me.

➎ Have you made lots of friends on this blog?

          More than I expected too. But when I set this blog up I thought ‘those days are behind me now’ so... one would be more than I expected.

➏ What’s the one thing you especially love about roleplaying your muse?

          WRITING THE JOKES!  And not just the verbal jokes he makes, I love writing jokes into my narration! Meta jokes! Dick jokes! Bad puns! All of it! I love it!! I also enjoy the way Gabriel interacts with the world around him.  He rarely just stands in a scene and talks, he’s always moving and gesturing and doing stuff. I also love writing his dialogue, even when the things I write make me squinch my face up with shame. He just says stuff sometimes. 

➐ Are there any people you’ve been to afraid of approaching?

          NOPE!  I’m not afraid to reach out. Approaching people is the easy part. You send a meme, you make an ooc comment, you tag them in something, you hit them with an ask or an IM or whatever.  And if they don’t answer that’s a-okay!  Their choice, I’m not hurt or personally offended. What I’m afraid of is what happens after that part if they do answer.  I can usually BS a thread until I find the point of the thing but IMs and asks? Y I K E S ! Now there’s an expectation for me to be cool and witty and have good ideas instead of just mediocre ones. Very scary. The reason I don’t send IMs.

➑ Give us a rough estimate: How much time have you spent on your graphics? (icons, theme, banners, promos, etc)

          My icons/graphics are a visual representation of me learning to use G.I.M.P. and I think you can... very clearly see the learning curve.  More effort went into those old fuzzy icons I have than the new, crisp ones. Plus moodboards and other stuff?   My guess is 40+ hours.

➒ Got any memorable threads on here? Care to mention a few?

          Well now I wish I had thread tags.  Thread tags would be a lifesaver right now.  Anyway, I am once again shouting out @awaywardboy-andhisangel and our original GabexDean thread that has since spiraled and gotten very, very interesting (it’s not over, I just like it).  And @divinitatemxsanguis who has allowed me to indulge in writing Gabriel with Loki post all the betrayl and murder. They have a special place in my heart so thanks for not judging me! I’m getting ready to write the conclusion/endcap to a sad thread with @isclcphobics involving Talia, Gabriel, and a grave. Plus the thread with @downwillow where Gabriel is human and Micheal has forgotten him. And a shoutout to @daedaluscried for our thread series that I have affectionately dubbed the ‘The Nanny’ series ft. October and Gabriel.  Every thread has been a delight.

          I also have some stuff I’m really looking forward to getting into, specifically with @hellsmother​, @cursebcund​, and @magaprima​.

➓ What were some of the most frustrating moments you had with your muse’s interaction with another muse?

          One that’s on me: sometimes I know that a moment in a thread calls for some emotional vunerability, and often when those times roll around the Gabriel voice I use to write dialogue goes all quiet and resistant and just wants to make jokes.  And either one of two things happens, either I write the joke and cringe because I know now the thread is going to go way off track because obviously the other character won’t be thrilled/is about to shut down and shut up. Or I force some emotional vunerability out of him and it never quite sounds right to me.  Sometimes it’s natural, but sometimes he just won’t do the thing and it frustrates me!

          One that I’ve encountered from someone else: sometimes people will try to force a certain motivation or trait on my Gabriel based on their perception of canon/a past interaction they’ve had with another Gabe as portrayed by another RPer. This really grinds my gears because if you want a Gabriel with that motivation to critique/praise/fight with then go find one! I garantee someone out there plays him that way! There are a lot of us out here doing this! I’m not going to change my portrayl for you!!

((Most holidays don't feel special anymore. They go by so fast and my perception of time isn't the best. Christmas is the only holiday that feels like a holiday to me, with the atmosphere and time off from school.))

((Sometimes I try to listen to instrumental music when I write—but music with lyrics, podcasts, etc. throw me off when I'm writing. However, I listen to long form video essays/podcasts/music when I'm drawing.))

⚖ - Opinions on the fandom your muse belong to? 

((Uhhh...

Club Penguin (Aunt Arctic) - the fandom comes and goes pretty quickly? At least, the rp community. I don't remember the last time I saw an active CP RP blog.

Spongebob Squarepants (Squidward) - the rp community also changes and fazes out quite a bit, but it's still a fun and welcoming community from my experience.

We Bare Bears (Charlie) - there used to be a lot more WBB rp blogs when I first started writing him on his solo blog, but the community dwindled out and I feel a little disconnected from the remaining WBB blogs? The fandom itself is quiet and accepting though.

OK KO (Darrell) - The rp community had a boom this year, but it seemed to die down once the series ended? Either that or I'm not looking in the right places. As for the fandom, I can't say for sure because I never delved too deep into it.

TAWOG (Anais) - There are still active blogs out there despite the series ending (?) . The rp community is welcoming from my experience, between interacting with TAWOG rp blogs on my old oc blog and joining the community myself. I used to be a huge TAWOG fan when I was in middle school, but I dropped off when I stopped watching TV regularly.

Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel (Loona) - I love the growing fanbase surrounding it! There seems like a lot of passionate, creative people in the community and it's a delight to see what people create!

Cosgrove Hall (Goosewing, Nanny, Don Diego, Professor Squawkencluck) - I'm lumping in the Count Duckula and Danger Mouse fandoms into this group since there is a lot of overlap, especially considering Duckula was originally (and still is) a Danger Mouse character. It's a small but welcoming community and I'm glad I've finally started delving into Danger Mouse (2015) because it's nice seeing more characters in this extended universe. I also find it funnier compared to Duckula? At least, it's gotten more laughs out of me. While Duckula seems to specialize in British humor (that's the impression I get anyway), Danger Mouse (2015) has more of a universal appeal. It revels in its goofiness while still being able to be taken seriously. I have yet to see the original Danger Mouse, but I suspect it's in the same vein as Count Duckula. ))

HISTORY

born an only child, there should have been a LOT of opportunity for a young marceline to be spoiled & pampered - however, that wasn’t the case

her father was busy working away for months at a time, so her childhood relationship with him existed mostly of rushed phone calls and weekends she wished would never end

for her mother, marceline was more of a prop than a daughter; someone to dress up cutely & show off the her friends over lunch. other than that, her mother had very little to do with her & most of her time was spent with a nanny.

with the lack of parental guidance, marceline grew to be .. kinda troubled. she CRAVED attention & so would get herself involved in all kinds of trouble at school & with her peers

once things REALLY started to get out of control, she was packaged off to boarding school which kinda straightened her out a LITTLE 

she really concentrated on her studies and discovered how much she actually enjoyed learning ??? we love a secret nerd

sent to an all boys boarding school at ten where he found his love in guitar and singing

parents didn’t approve when they found out and pulled him out of boarding school, sold his guitar and kept a closer eye on him by sending him to a private school closer to home.

eventually got his chance with xlnc and debuted with them after being a trainee for years

went through a scandal a couple months after debut when people found out about his wealthy past and started making accusations that he didn’t have talent and just bought his way into the group. it was eventually stopped after KTM released a statement, but jinho was still pretty broken up about it

a hard worker behind the scenes and is scared of failing, but he never lets the public eye see that side of him, which has caused criticism as he doesn’t seem to take anything seriously. 

an idiot, will do anything for a laugh, doesn’t care about his own self image, nicknamed by the fandom ‘funny guy’. i mean literally if he was given the opportunity to dress up as a girl and do a girl group song he would be 110% down for that hit him up. also completely seriously started singing hot in herre while taking his shirt off on camera one time. someone stop him.

self-confidence level: it slowly grew over time only to be pushed down again when she was married. she was able to nurture it back though and now loves herself. she tries to teach her children self love and self acceptance in everything from the way you dress to the way you act. while her laugh used to embarrass her, she now laughs louder and shows a bit more skin when she dresses in the bright colors she once loved. it was hard at first but now she could never see herself going back.

Nickname: Roobi. Years ago in a small online RP group on LJ, I was also known as Brie. And in my medieval club, I am Lady Skjalddís Bragadóttir.

Height: Um, about 164cm if I recall correctly, give or take a couple of centimetres.

Orientation: Pansexual.

Nationality: Singaporean, though I currently reside in Australia.

Favourite fruit: Mango.

Favourite season: Probably late autumn or early winter. Cool enough for me to comfortably wear my turtlenecks and light coats and scarves and jauntily-posed hats, but not so cold that I’m shivering. 

Favourite scent: Sandalwood, roses, jasmine, the fragrant scent of spices in South Indian cooking, freshly-baked goods, my partner’s hair...

Favourite colour: Red.

Favourite animal: Cats.

Coffee, tea or hot chocolate: Milo is actually my favourite but it’s not an option here. :P Tea and hot chocolate. I’m not a coffee person.

Average sleep hours: Either five hours or nine, there is no middle ground.

Dog or cat person: I’m a cat person, though I do love dogs too.

Favourite fictional character: Oof, that’s a hard one. Hermione Granger, Nanny Ogg, Éowyn, Glorfindel, Remus Lupin, Death (either Discworld or Sandman, they’re both awesome), Aragorn, Cheery Littlebottom, Mazikeen... the list goes on, really.

Number of blankets you sleep with: It varies according to season, but either 1 or 2. 

Dream trip: Egypt (I’ve already been there with family, but I want to return for longer, with my partner this time), New Zealand (ditto; also, when my family and I went, it was in 2004 and the LotR sets were down. I really want to bring my partner and visit the Hobbiton set in Matamata, in full costume), and Britain (I have never been).
