Hey gorgeous!! I was just wondering what primer and foundation products you would suggest for oily skin types? I use to have a whole routine, but sadly had to stop wearing makeup when my acne flared up due to wearing my mask & just stress in general. No rush to answer, just not too sure how to bounce back into the makeup world I suppose 😅 hope you have a great evening or day, thanks for taking time to read and answer!! 😙🦋🤍💖🧿✨
Hello beautiful! Oh my gosh, I can’t even tell you how excited I am to get my first question (and a new follower!) on this blog, so please forgive me if I go overboard!!
I totally feel you about mask acne and stress, I have been breaking out like a high school freshman all year! Before I get into the products I use, a little disclaimer I want to offer is that I’m a pretty frugal person in general and don’t like spending tons of money on beauty products, so some of the stuff I use may come across as “cheap”. However! I also have very sensitive skin, so I’m at least a little picky about getting stuff that’s not super harsh! Also, my recommendations are based all on my personal experience and I have no formal education with any of this so, there is that lol.
The products I want to mention today are:
1. L’oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Concealer
2. Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream For Oily Skin (a foundation alternative)
3. Elf Putty Eye Primer
4. Equate Deep Clarifying Exfoliating Scrub
5. Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask
I’ll put the rest of the details under a cut here to keep things tidy, I hope you’ll find some useful information here!
Anyway though! My skin is also on the oily side, and these are the current products I’ve been using and quite liking. I start with a mild face lotion (I use Arbonne Rejuvenating Cream b/c my mom worked for them and gifts it to me, but I think any would do if your mom was not sucked into a MLM like mine) because even though my skin tends toward oily, I can get bad dry spots around my eyebrows, nose, and hairline. I also find that it helps my next products apply smoother and blend a little easier.
Tumblr media
1. L’oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Concealer -  I use this first (after the lotion) to help conceal my suuuper dark circles under my eyes, highlight the bridge of my nose and chin, and to cover up any stubborn pimples. I use the fair/light variety and blend it in a bit with a makeup sponge. I buy it at Walmart.
2. Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream For Oily Skin - This is the second product I use. A few years ago I switched from regular foundation to BB Cream because I found most foundations felt a little too thick on my skin (hated feeling like it was plastered on there). I love this BB cream, it goes on like lotion and blends seamlessly with the True Match Concealer, and I forget I’m even wearing makeup because it just feels natural and not thick. It also helps even out my skin tone a lot, as I carry a lot of redness in my cheeks. I kind of paint and blend it on with a makeup sponge, and I like to do one area (each side of the face and then the forehead) at a time because I do find it’s a little tougher to correct after it fully dries. I’ve also used it over full cream contouring and full powder contouring, and it always blends pretty darn well no matter what’s underneath it. I use the 530 Light/Medium, and I personally prefer the matte look for my base, but I’m sure they have varieties of BB cream that have a glowy or dewy look. I buy this at Walmart too.
3. Elf Putty Eye Primer - This is, admittedly, not my favorite eye primer, but it still does a darn good job. My preferred primer is NYX HD Eyeshadow Base because I find liquid primer easier to apply, but I’ve been having a hard time finding it locally so I tried this Elf Putty Eye Primer. It’s a little fiddly to apply (need v. short fingernails for that little puck), sometimes you have to warm it up a bit under your finger to get it the right smoothness for application, but once it’s on, it is on. The primer itself really smooths out the skin tone on your lids and brightens them up a lot, and it hold eyeshadow like a BOSS. My eyeshadow looks almost the same at the end of the day as the beginning, and that’s an AWESOME feeling :D I found it at Target, but Ulta sells it as well.  And then after I do my eye makeup, brows, blush etc, I finish everything with just a matte face powder to help reduce shine.  Finally, I wanted to mention two cleansing products as well. Especially since the dawn of the pandemic, acne has definitely been a problem for me, and I’ve found a couple products that have helped me a lot! My least favorite part of wearing makeup is having to remove it and wash my face, but I also told myself that if I'm going to wear makeup almost every day, I really need to be better about taking care of my skin too.
Tumblr media
1. Equate Deep Clarifying Exfoliating Scrub - this is the off-brand version of a Clean & Clear product, I actually like it better than the name brand and I like to save a few bucks. I use it after my makeup remover at the end of the night. I try to be really good about using it every night and it has really helped me with blackheads, I don't get them nearly as much anymore. It's very refreshing on your skin! But always make sure to clear your face of any exfoliating beads after using, those can be very damaging if they get in your eye (and of course don't use this product too close to your eyes anyway). I buy it at Walmart. 2. Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask - now this one is actually labelled as an acne medication, so I use it very sparingly as it has slightly more intense ingredients than a plain facewash. I use it once a week if I'm using it as an overall facewash (instead of the Equate Scrub on any day) if I'm having a really bad breakout week, but I also really like this for deep stubborn pimples. For those, I use it just on the specific spot, let it sit for no more than five minutes and then wash it off. Usually this brings the pimple to the surface by the next day! I get this at Walmart too.   SO. This might be a lot more information than you bargained for, and I do apologize that I'm long-winded and an over-sharer, haha. But I really love sharing info, and I hope that one or more of these products will be of interest and use to you! Thank you so much for your question and for following my blog! I really can't tell you how much joy those things brought me today! I'm also hoping to do guest spots here once in a while, so please let me know if you're ever interested in sharing some of your own makeup, photos, products, etc! Have a wonderful evening, morning, etc! Thank you!!!

☆ genre: fluff
☆ pairing: han jisung x reader
☆ summary: you are han jisung’s stylist. you decide to tell him some stories.
☆ word count: 1.7k
☆ listen to: sweet talk by saint motel
You smiled as you tied your hair up and pulled on your apron. You loved your job, despite the demanding schedule and the sometimes impossible standards. Make-up was your passion and you loved the boys who you worked with. It also helped that you were being paid a good amount of money doing what you loved after leaving school to become a make-up artist.
You had been styling for Stray Kids since their debut, and after two years you had gotten quite close with all of them. Your job required you to be there for all promotions, music video shoots, and tours so after a while you formed bonds with the boys since you saw each other so much.
Specifically you formed a special bond with Han Jisung, the boy that you styled the most frequently. You couldn’t quite place when you fell for him, but something about his chill sense of being, his humor, and his overall cuteness made you fall for him. Of course your dreams would never come to fruition, due to the 3 year JYP dating ban. But you were more than okay with hiding your feelings and enjoying your friendship with Jisung as just that; a friendship and nothing more.
Today was the first day of shooting photos for GO LIVE, and you and the others were up early, coffee in hands, ready to make sure that the boys were looking their best for their photos. You were busy organizing your station when the door opened and 8 boys walked in, greeting the team. You smiled as Jisung spotted you and rushed over.
“Y/N! Morning!” You smiled at the smiley and cheerful boy, gesturing for him to sit down in the seat.
“Morning Ji! Excited for your photos today?” You asked, taking a sip of your coffee before grabbing the clips that would hold Han’s hair back while you did your work. Jisung nodded.
“Yep! And I know you’re gonna make me look super handsome!” He said, wiggling his eyebrows up and down. You could help but laugh, cheeks flushing slightly, as you went to grab the primer to begin putting on his face.
“Well thank you for the compliments, Sungie. I will do the best I can,” you said, rubbing the primer into his skin as softly as you could. Jisung’s natural skin was already smooth and soft, so you luckily didn’t need to put too much foundation on, just enough that the flash from the cameras wouldn’t wash him out. You smiled to yourself as you rubbed the primer into his cheeks, them moving with your motions.
“Hey, Y/N! You should tell Han that story you told us the other day!” Your friend, Aly, yelled from the other side of the room where she was currently working on Hyunjin’s makeup and hair. Jisung looked up at you, a questioning glance in his eyes as you laughed at the thought.
“Oh! You wanna hear a story, Ji?” You asked. Jisung nodded happily as you went to grab the foundations you needed to make his foundation color.
“Okay. I was telling the girls the other day about how one time I was at a birthday party for one of my friends and they wanted to play hide and seek,” you began, dabbing a light coat of foundation onto the idol's face.
“Anyway, they somehow managed to convince everyone that we should play it in the dark. So my friend went through the house, turned off all the lights and began counting.” Jisung hummed as you began dusting a light coat of setting powder onto his face to keep the foundation in place and matte.
“So, naturally, I begin walking around trying to find a good place to hide. But I didn’t realize that there were stairs near where we were standing. So as I’m walking, I accidentally reach the stairs and before I know it I’m fully tumbling down the stairs,” you said, beginning the light bit of eyeshadow that Han usually wore.
“My friends hear me, obviously, and are like ‘what happened?’. So they turn on their flashlights and go looking for the noise. They see me laying at the bottom of the stairs, just staring at the ceiling in a sort of existential crisis way. And my one friend, who was the seeker, as the audacity to look at me and say,” You moved away from Han’s eyes as you looked him dead in the eyes and imitating your friend said, “‘Found you.’ I was pissed!” You exclaimed as Jisung began to laugh at your story. You smiled as the idol laughed at your stupid story, the sound of it making your heart race ever so slightly.
“They didn’t even check to see if I had a concussion! So moral of the story is I may have had a concussion and not even known,” you said as Han began to settle down again.
“Damn, that sounds like something Felix and Hyunjin would do to me,” he said, calming his breathing. You heard Felix and Hyunjin let out some grunts or groans of disapproval, which made you chuckle as you began to pull out the eyeliner and brush to continue on his eyes.
“That’s not even the worst thing my friends have done or let me do! Okay, this story is a dosey so let me prepare you for the chaos,” you said, letting Jisung pretend to take a deep breath before he nodded. You chuckled softly before moving in to continue your job.
“So, I never went to college but a lot of my friends did. So they used to invite me to go to parties with them. So my one friend invited me to go to a party with her out of nowhere. And I agreed cause I had nothing better to do. We get there and I may or may not have had a bit too much to drink,” you said, causing Jisung to snort. You grinned as you continued.
“Anyway I was drunk, and my friend comes out of one of the rooms with a bottle of something and brings it to me. She hands it to me and asks ‘Is this whiskey or perfume?’ Now I was drunk and my brain wasn’t working so I was like, the only way to figure this out is to drink it! So I take the bottle from her and I take the top off and proceed to take a hefty swing, swallow, before saying ‘it is definitely perfume.’ I had to get my stomach pumped and I didn’t go to another party for about 3 months,” you finished. Jisung was full on cackling by now, bent over and holding his stomach as he laughed. You smiled at how his laugh sounded, trying to ignore the butterflies in your stomach. You were glad that Han found your stories amusing, even if they were slightly embarrassing to tell. You’d embarrass yourself for hours if it meant getting to hear Han’s laugh.
It wasn’t until Han finally raised his head up that you realized the error of your ways. You gasped, covering your hand with your mouth as you observed Han’s face. The laughter had caused tears to form and now there were tears running down Jisung’s face that were black with a mix of his foundation color. Jisung stopped laughing once he saw your expression and then looked to the mirror quickly. He groaned when he noticed the colored streaks on his face.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. But technically this is your fault. You made me laugh too hard!” He said, causing you to hit his arm lightly. You sighed as you grabbed the makeup wipes, hoping to salvage your work.
“Hey, Y/N? Are you almost done?” Grace asked from where she stood beside Seungmin. You looked up to see the other stylists and their members were done. You waved her off.
“Almost. Go ahead, Jisung and I will be there soon!” You said, watching them nod and walk out the door. You were left alone with Jisung as you fixed his foundation and added more eyeliner to his eyes.
“Sorry about this, I didn’t know I was going to make you laugh so hard,” you said, dabbing his eye lightly. Jisung shook his head lightly, trying not to make any sudden movements.
“You’re fine. It really is my fault. Besides, I like your stories,” He grabbed your wrist to stop you and looked up at you with his big chocolate eyes, a smile playing on his face.
“Maybe you’d like to tell me more of them over a cup of coffee and a slice of cheesecake?” He asked. It took a moment for your brain to register that he was flirting with you and that he was asking you on a date. Your face turned bright red at the revelation and your heart began racing.
“But… you’re not supposed to date!” You exclaimed, trying to reason yourself out of the situation. Jisung shrugged.
“You’re right. But who said we needed to call it a date? I prefer to see it as two people who like each other getting to know one another better. Besides, my dating ban is only 3 years,” Jisung said, his voice dripping honey as he tried to convince you to go with him. You stared at him, his eyes peering into yours as you tried to figure out what to do. Finally you sighed, moving to finish his eyeliner.
“Fine. I suppose we can do that. But get ready, I’m gonna make you laugh so hard you bust a rib,” you said, a small smile on your face. Jisung cheered as you put your brushes down and took the clips out. Styling his hair ever so slightly, you stepped back.
“Okay dummy, you are ready. Now go before you’re even more late.” Jisung stood up and began to walk away before stopping. He turned around and planted a soft kiss on your cheek, before rushing out the door.
“See you later, Y/N!” He called. You stared at the door, a hand pressed to your cheek and a dazed expression on your face.
That boy would be the death of you. But you didn’t mind.

The Conference (Day 1, Pt 1)
Pairing: Damian Wayne x reader
Synopsis: You are the daughter of a famous politician and are attending his conference in New York. After hearing your concerns about not knowing almost anyone in the top 1% that your family was in to whom was your age, he and your mother decide that it is time to meet your father’s friend’s son, Damian Wayne. The only issue? He’s the most arrogant, rude, and maybe handsomest person that you’d ever heard of.
Notes: I’m going to do this story in parts. Does anyone know how the fan fic writers make those master lists???? Also, I just wanna say, I like to make stories and the Y/N thing smart because I hate seeing the Y/N x person where Y/N is either dumb, unambitious, or just average and doesn’t care about school or working for something. It just bothers me.
Warnings: None
“Father must I attend this conference?” You asked looking out of the window of the large black GMC that your father was driving.
“Yes, Y/N. You need to have some time off from your work. Plus, you always love these conferences every summer. What’s wrong with this one?” Your father replied looking at you some and then back on the road.
You sighed, “The issue is that I’m 16, I have goals, ambitions, and drives that I want to achieve, but I would also not mind meeting people my age with the same mind set other than Brooklyn who aren’t some 40 year -old congressmen or businessmen who I could only use later in life to climb to the top.” You tapped your fingers on the leather of the car door interior sitting yourself up more, gazing at the New York skyline coming into view.
“Y/N, sweetie that makes perfect sense. Your mother and I have talked about this, and we have decided that I should talk to one of my friends about you meeting his son who is your age.” He said, the smallest sign of delight on his face.
“And who would that be?” You asked impatiently.
“Well, my friend Bruce Wayne of course.” He answered.
“Oh wow, should’ve guessed.” You retorted sarcastically, “And which one of his children will I have the “absolute pleasure and honor” of putting up with?” You rolled your eyes mentally going over the list of reasons why this was a bad idea and why you would rather be home with your precious German Shepherd, Apollo and grey kitten, Pandora.
“Be nice Y/N.” He scolded, “And you are meeting Damian. He is a perfectly respectable young man, and I’m sure that you will find that he is not what the media would make him out to be.” “Plus, you might find that the two of you are pretty alike, no matter how shocking that might be.”
“Fine. I will try to be nice. And also, was that an insult?” You asked giving him some major side eye.
“No, you two are alike in some ways. Whether that is a good thing or not, Bruce and I have yet to know.” He informed you, turning the music back up, probably to keep you from asking anymore questions and bursting his bubble of excitement.
“Great,” You thought, “the last thing that I need is some rich boy who is apparently extremely handsome and possibly rude and obnoxious getting in my way.” You thought about what had happened the first and last time that you had dated someone, that certain boyfriend ended up cheating on you when you were in the hospital after having a serious breakdown of sorts. That is what led you to make a vow of some kind never to fall into another relationship, because for all that you knew, it would hold you back from your goals in life. Maybe it was irrational, maybe it was just you playing it safe, but for all that you knew, it was working so far, so why change the method?
The car pulled up to the Plaza Hotel, paparazzi and media everywhere taking pictures of the car when you and your father arrived. See, your father was a famous politician and radio/ tv host. All your life, he had been a well -known person, but it only really blew up when you were 12. You moved into what would be considered a massive new house, maybe an hour outside of New York and suddenly, you were put into a new school, had new fake friends, and were surrounded by the top 1% of the elite. You had made a name for yourself as well. There was something about attending the events, meeting the most important names in the world, and slowly building your own empire that was the sweetest tasting thing in existence. It was terrifying but also, the rush of excitement and new comings that you had desired was welcomed with open arms. Well, at least it was like that for a little while. Now, after 4 years, while you were grateful, sometimes it felt like the hustle and bustle of what you had been shoved into was too much.
The both of you walked into the hotel, bags in hand before retreating to the front desk to get your room keys as fast as possible. The lady at the front quickly checked the two of you in, seeing the swarm of people outside and recognizing you and your father. The two of you took the back, staff elevators to avoid any guests that could possibly be at the hotel for the conference that your father was holding this week for four nights. No one said a word in the elevator. The only noise was the faint sound of the machine operating and then the ding of the bell when you had come upon the 12th floor. You walked down the hallway behind your father who held the room key up to the scanner before another buzz and then a click could be heard as the door unlocked.
You smiled upon entering the room. The suite had two bedrooms, the master to the right and the guest to the left. In between that was a foyer and then sitting room. To the left of the sitting room was the tv area and then office. To the right, the dining room and kitchen. There were balconies scattered about the hotel suite along with grand elegant windows overlooking Central Park and the bustling street below. New York was your favorite city. You planned on getting a sky rise penthouse there one day on the Upper East Side when you had the money and were out of college. Another bonus was that one of your best friends, Brooklyn, who was the daughter of a very famous fashion designer lived in New York so you could visit her here.
“Father, who all is attending the opening dinner tonight?” You asked taking your phone out of your back pocket of your black jeans.
“The sponsors and a few honored guests of the conference.” He replied, “Then, after that, a few of them are coming back to the hotel room, if you can just stay in your room that would be great.” “Uhh let’s see, a few representatives from Facebook, Instagram, Google, and then a few congressmen are coming. Matt Michael, Tom Dunkin, Brad Thomas, are the congressmen guests of honor at dinner and then Bruce and Damian will be in attendance.”
“What time?” You asked recognizing the names, “I mean what time must we head downstairs and what time should I keep to my room?”
“We need to walk down at 6:50 because the dinner starts at 7 and then everyone is coming up at 9 since the dinner should end at 8:30.” He answered.
“Got it.” You said walking into your bedroom on the left side.
It was 4:30 know so you figured that you could unpack and then get ready for the night. You flipped the light switch on in your bedroom and opened your suitcase to reveal a nicely organized bag with everything sectioned off in different parts of the bag.
“If only it would look like this when we leave.” You chuckled to yourself unpacking your clothes and putting them into the dresser and closet.
You chose what you would be wearing to the dinner that night, it was going to have to be a lovely dark blue dress that came just above your knees with an off the shoulder cut. It had a top half that kind of looked like a piece of armor, but this time with small diamonds on it. You chose black heels to go with the dress, and small diamond earrings to top everything off. After picking the outfit, you headed to the bathroom with your makeup case, shower things, curling iron, and hair drier. You turned on your favorite music and got into the shower quickly washing your hair and shaving your legs.
After 15 minutes, you had gotten out of the shower and was in a robe that the hotel had left in the room for you in your closet. You started with your hair, and dried it. It took some time because of how long and thick it was, but after that, curling it was a breeze. You didn’t bother putting hairspray in it since you were just going to sleep in a braid that night and didn’t feel like washing the gunk out of your hair after the spray had set.
After that you took out your makeup. This was your least favorite part, however, it had to be done. You got some primer on and then put on a small bit of foundation before powdering. After that, you put on some plush and mascara and sprayed your face with setting spray. It wasn’t much, however the idea of it wasn’t at all your favorite. Once that was done, you slipped on your dress and put on some perfume and your shoes. Your phone was fully charged, and when you left the bedroom, your father was waiting so that the both of you could go to the dinner.
“So, have you met Damian before?” You asked as you and your father walked down the hall to the elevator.
“I have a few times, all when I was meeting with Bruce for a meeting or other social event.” He replied, hitting the button on the elevator to take you guys to the floor with the ballroom.
“Lovely.” You stated turning your iPhone on silence.
The both of you walked down a hallway again and rounded the corner to where to sound of people talking and moving around could be heard. You guys were perfectly on time but a few people had come in a bit early. Your father entered the room first and was approached by a few of the men in there. You stood by him, smiling and only talking when you were spoken to which was pretty often considering the name that you had already made in the political and business fields that your father was also a part of. After maybe ten minutes or so of making your way through the crowd, you noted your father’s pace quicken like he saw someone that he knew. You followed him to where a tall man with jet black hair and blue eyes standing text to who you presume to be his son, with darker skin, the same black hair, and emerald green eyes.
“He’s cute, cute but where’s the food?” You thought as you followed to them making slight eye contact with the boy. This had to be Damian and his father, Mr. Wayne. And for all you knew that this point, your father seemed pretty confident that you two would get along.

Not Just a Pretty Face.
Hey guys!!
I wanted to come on here today and chat with you guys about something I'm super passionate (borderline obsessed with) and that is MAKEUP!
I always get a ton of compliments on my eyeshadows and lipsticks (I love a red lip....if you couldn't tell by my Instagram). Since I'm always getting questions about the products I like/ use, I was inspired to make this post happen.
**Disclaimer: if you guys shop the links I've posted, I DO earn a small commission, which really helps me out and I'd be forever appreciative if you would. These ARE, however, products that I've purchased with my own money and what works for me.**
First rule of makeup is that there ARE no rules; like any form of expression, it's whatever you want it to be and you can have as much fun with it as you like. Or if you don't like wearing makeup, you certainly don't have to.
So this first, and most important step to great makeup is a great base, which means taking care of your skin.
I wash my face every day using this acne scrub by Neutorgena which has done wonders for my skin. Since I deal with a lot of stress and oily skin, this is a perfect way to get my face clean and ready for the day.
After I wash my face, I use this toner, also by Neutrogena on a cotton pad and I honestly love it. It doesn't dry out my skin and it helps remove any excess dirt or left over makeup.

This moisturizer by Garnier is probably my favorite that I've ever used and it's SO HARD to find in stores! Luckily our friends over at Amazon have everything under the sun, so once I found I could get it there (and in a two pack) I haven't worried about finding it when I need it. It's water based, which my skin loves, and it doesn't clog up your pores the way some cream moisturizers can.
So with my skin care done, I prep my face using this primer by Too Faced. Now I know the price tag is scary, but a little goes a long way. Plus I love the way it makes my skin feel. It doesn’t have any silicone in it and it doesn’t have that weird, filmy texture like some primers do.
I also prime with this setting spray by Milani, which is a new find for me! I wasn’t sure I would like it, but if you wear make up in the South AND in the summertime heat and humidity, you know what a pain it is trying to keep everything in place. By starting with this setting spray, it give the makeup a solid surface to cling to. I also set my face with this when I’m done with my makeup application to lock everything in and then I’m ready to take on the day!

To fill in and set my brows, I use this pencil and this duo both by E.L.F. I love the pencil because it comes with a spoolie at the end, but by far my favorite from the duo is the powder. It locks my brows in place and they DO NOT run, which, again, if you wear makeup in the Southern heat, you know what an issue this can be!
To prime my eyes for shadow, I use this primer by Essence, which you get A LOT of for such a small price tag. My favorite way to use this is to put a little on my eye and then set it with a neutral shadow, therefore giving you a smooth base to apply your shadows with.
My eyeshadow is one one of the aspects of my makeup that I always get compliments on. If you're looking for a good, neutral pallet to try, I HIGHLY recommend this one by Tarte. If I mysteriously lost all my makeup and had to replace it, this would be one of the first items in my cart. This pallet is by far one of the most versatile in my arsenal. First off, the mirror is HUGE and it smells like chocolate! With its mix of mattes and shimmers, I can easily go do a simple, soft and neutral look to a dark and vampy look with just a few strokes of my brushes. This looks good on literally every skin tone and it's extremely forgiving, so if you're a beginner and looking to invest in a good, solid pallet that you can use every day, look no further than this one!
Honorable mentions:
Urban Decay Born to Run
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
Too Faced Chocolate Bar

To set my face makeup, I use a damp beauty sponge and this translucent setting powder by Air Spun. It doesn't have an over powering scent and you get A LOT of it for your money (I've hear that it's a dupe for the Laura Mercier setting powder too).
For blush, I like this one by Too Faced. It gives a nice, flush of color without bring too intense or crazy. Plus I love how the peachy color looks on my skin! For a drugstore option, I also like these blushes by Milani they come in a ton of shades and are at a good price point for such a good blush.
For bronzer, I stick with my first love, which is this one by Too Faced. Again, the price is high, but for how much you get, it's honestly worth it. Plus, it smells like chocolate and you can't go wrong with that!
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
For highlight, I love the ones by Wet N Wild, they pack a lot of punch into their highlighters for VERY little money, which in itself is impressive. I can have a natural glow or I can build it up and glow bright enough to be seen from space, whichever mood I'm in, this highlighter covers all of my bases.
Now you guys know, I LOVE LOVE, LOVE a good red lip and it's by far the thing that makes me feel most ready and confident and it rounds out the look completely. This one from Milani always gets me a ton of compliments, be warned that it IS a matte and it does dry out your lips, so if that isn't your jam, try this one from Wet N Wild. The Liquid Catsuit line is matte but not super drying.
To finish off any look, I set it with the Milani setting spray I mentioned earlier that way everything stays in place.
I honesty love makeup and if you guys have any questions, or would like some other recommendations, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an ask and I'll answer. Hope you guys enjoyed this blog and I'll see you for the next one! I love you all!

Make up related ask. I know you’re wondering what I’m the world led to me to think you’d want to talk about makeup. But the thing is I don’t want to ask about it but also newly minted working professional. so what’s the makeup routine like?does it last thru the day?, if not what do you do when the makeup starts to get melt away? I’m just tired of seeing those YouTube bloggers talk about make up like everyone just has flawless skin and make me feel like shit for not living up to it?
You are…completely correct, anon, this is exactly the kind of makeup question I am equipped to answer!
I will start out by saying that I absolutely get where you’re coming from. My skin is shit, somehow both greasy and dry, very pale and blotchy-red—I have some impressive acne scarring leftover from my teenage years and two very dark moles on my cheek/jaw. I am also absolutely unwilling to spend a lot of time or money developing a makeup routine.
Luckily, we live in the age of the “fresh faced” look, so we don’t have to worry about applying green eye shadow. Especially when it comes to work, most of what I focus on is a professional, clean look, with a limited number of products (I counted, it’s 5) that are easy to apply and maintain throughout the work day.
Starting out: I never apply makeup before leaving the house—I walk to work, and there’s too much of a risk that I’ll sweat through it, or smudge it. Instead, I keep my makeup bag at my desk, and once I get into the office I duck into the bathroom to go through my routine.
It takes five minutes, and consists of: a primer, concealer, eyeliner & mascara, and lip stain. I used to have setting powder too, but I’ve found that my new concealer dries matte enough that I don’t need it. Depending on how my skin looks that day, sometimes I just put on the primer—it’s neotrogena and I’ve found it really helps with shine control and redness—or I’ll skip the eyeliner because I want a darker lipstain. (This is a professionalism thing, intense eye-makeup and intense lip color isn’t really done for attorneys. If you’re in a less conservative profession, that might not be a rule you have to follow.)
I apply the primer and concealer with my hands---I don’t have applicators or wands or those pad things professional makeup people use. I don’t do highlighting, contouring, whatever. When I say eyeliner, I mean literally I line my eyes, I don’t do wings or smoky eye or anything fancy; I don’t have the requisite set of skills and it’s not necessary in my office.
There’s more stuff in my makeup bag, of course. I break out a lot---less than I used to, but I can tell when my period is approaching because suddenly my jaw and chin turn into a mountain range. I have an “emergency” concealer wand that’s a slightly different shade than my usual concealer, since I’ve found that applying that and blending with the skin around it conceals the redness better.
I also invested in blotting paper a couple years ago, and that’s been a lifesaver when it comes to “how to maintain your makeup throughout the day.” And it does require maintenance, more or less depending on what I’m doing that day. I picked the products I use specifically because they last a long time—you can’t smudge lipstain on a coffee cup, and liquid eyeliner doesn’t fade as quickly as pencil. But nevertheless, my makeup absolutely wears off, slides, fades, and smudges.
I have an old-fashioned compact at my desk, so I’ll usually check my lipline and eyeliner before a meeting and do any necessary little fixes. Then after lunch I duck into the bathroom again with my makeup bag and do whatever clean-up and reapplication I need to for the afternoon.
It’s all a hassle---I wish I could just get through my day and not have to worry about rubbing my eyes or scratching my nose. But I also walk to work in flats, and keep six pairs of heels in a desk drawer. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of being A Professional Woman that’s just finding shortcuts to get the “woman” part taken care of, so you can get started on the “professional.”

JeffreeStarCosmetics - The best, or just good? ( For eyeshadows, at least ).
Hello everyone!
Today I’ll be doing a review on two of the JeffreeStarCosmetics’ eyeshadow palettes - “Beauty Killer”, and “Blood Sugar”. I won’t be doing a full-on comparison ( not yet, anyways ) but I will be reviewing the palettes based on their price, their reputations, what they were advertised as, and how they actually perform. And, to be thorough, I’ve had both of the palettes long enough to make noticeable dents in some of the shadows, and to give them both a fair try. Also, I will be reviewing each category - Packaging and Presentation,  Performance, and Cost. The highest possible score in all three categories is 5 - with that out of the way, let’s begin.
( DISCLAIMER: the following post is just my analysis on how these palettes performed and felt to me. I used my own primers, my own brushes, and my own techniques, meaning the quality I saw may not be what you see. I am not attacking JSC - this is simply a review of how the products worked for me. )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 1: Presentation.
Above are the two palettes I’ll be reviewing today. In terms of packaging, they both feel drastically different - Beauty Killer feels like your average, sturdy cardboard palette, and while it’s pretty on the outside it isn’t the most stunning thing. Inside, it comes with a fairly large mirror, and ten massive shadows. The color placement is nice, and the imprints in the shadows are pretty, and add a designer feel to the whole thing. Overall, it’s a nice looking/feeling palette, and receives a 4/5.
Blood Sugar on the other hand feels great. While on the bigger side of the scale, and a bit clunky, it isn’t huge, and the outside feels expensive and nice - like leather. It also looks nice, with small metal clasps to keep it closed, and while simple it does look like a pricey palette. The mirror is noticeably bigger on this palette, and the shadows are just as nice as they were in Beauty Killer - just not as huge. This palette boasts 18 red-toned shadows, with the same imprints on the pans - as well as the addition of a syringe on “Prick” and a caduceus on “Coma”. Overall a beautiful palette - 5/5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 2: Performance. ( swatches above are “Beauty Killer” and “Blood Sugar”, top to bottom, on my clean, un-primed arm )
Here’s the category where it counts - performance is what really matters in these palettes, as it’s kind of a waste to buy a palette that’s pretty in packaging/presentation but horrible in performance. I mainly included the swatches to show the colors a bit better, but please keep in mind that swatches are NOT a good way to judge a palette’s quality. Shadows that swatch poorly can perform amazingly - I’ll get back to that point later.
To start, Beauty Killer has, as previously mentioned, ten shadows. On the website, this palette is described as “Our first ever eyeshadow palette is finally here!!! 10 jaw-dropping shades. Extreme pigment. There are 3 formulas in this palette: matte, frost & glitter.” To clarify, there are 4 mattes ( Star Power, Courtney, Vanity, China White ), 2 glitters ( Expensive, Black Rainbow ), and 4 frosts ( Princess, Violence, Rich B*tch, Confession ). One of the glitters isn’t even a true glitter - “Black Rainbow” is the odd one out in this palette, as it’s a matte, black base with small rainbow glitter scattered throughout it. But the real question here is - are they actually extremely pigmented, like the website claims?
And the answer is, for the most part, yes. The mattes are pigmented, and while a few are chalky ( Star Power, mainly ) the rest are actually really nice and soft. You can probably tell what my favorite is because I’m close to hitting the pan on it - “China White” is a really nice- bone-white shadow that makes a great base for natural looks. The downside? The fallout is ridiculous - you dip into the shadows, and the mattes are so soft that powder goes everywhere, and unless you’re extremely careful it can be tough to gather up the powder to avoid wasting it. As for actual fallout, it isn’t as noticeable with the pale shades - it comes into play with the ones like “Star Power”, “Black Rainbow”, and “Courtney”. These have some fallout to them, but if you use just a tiny bit, you’re fine, and with how pigmented these shadows are, you may not need more than that little bit to get your look done. So, in the case of the mattes and glitters, the “Extreme pigment” claim is true. They also blend nicely, so that’s a plus.
But what about the frosts? For a shadow making up nearly half of the palette, aren’t these important too?
Well, the answer is no, these aren’t heavily pigmented. I know in the swatches, all of them except “Princess” are showing up nicely, but when you apply them to a primed eye they take a lot of building to get much color with a brush - you’re better off pressing them on with your finger to get a soft, purple or gold-tinted shimmer. But despite their lack of pigment with a normal brush ( or a wet one, these shadows do not like water or my setting spray! ) these are actually my favorite shadows in this palette. They have a really nice shimmer to them, an icy glow, if you would, and I like that the colors are so soft - it makes the three crazier colors a lot more wearable for the average person, and the formula is amazing - they aren’t powdery like their matte siblings, and they have a lot less fallout too. If Jeffree were to sell these on their own, I’d probably do my best to get my hands on them all.
Finally, the glitters, who deserve their own segment at the bottom because of how much I hate “Black Rainbow”. “Expensive” is alright, and again is much better off being applied with your finger rather than a brush, but “Black Rainbow”? Absolutely not. The fallout is horrible, the black matte is patchy and hard to blend, and when applied the glitter is so hard to see it may as well not be there. For a glitter, this shade is a failure, but thankfully as a matte it isn’t the worst black I’ve ever tried. It can be used as an accent color, and blended out if you use just the /tiniest/ amount. Nothing more.
So, overall, what is the quality of the “Beauty Killer” palette? It certainly is a beauty, as are most of its shadows, but it isn’t really a killer - its frost shadows are, though, giving it a solid 4/5 again. The frosts themselves get a 5/5.
Next we move on to “Blood Sugar” - one of JeffreeStarCosmetics’ biggest sellers, having sold out every single time it restocked ( and before I could get it, which was part of why this post was delayed so much! ).
So, like I said earlier, “Blood Sugar” has a total of 18 shadows - the website says “Our iconic Blood Sugar palette! Featuring 18 striking eyeshadows and pressed-pigments.This palette is serving three luxurious formulas: matte, metallic and foil. Luxurious red faux leather finish in a metal clasp palette. One of a kind. Extreme payoff.”
Now, I call crap on this claim. Of this palette’s 18 shadows, a whopping 14 are mattes, leaving little room for the two metallics, and the two “foils”. The “foils” are the same formula as the frost shadows I mentioned in my review of “Beauty Killer”, so while this is a minor thing, I was kind of confused as to why they didn’t just call them frosts - but I just wanted to bring that up. I’ll get back to the serious review now.
So, to start, are the mattes as striking, luxurious, and EXTREME-PIGMENT as the website claims they are?
Somewhat. All of the mattes are heavily pigmented, and while “Cavity” feels strikingly similar to “Star Power” from “Beauty Killer”, the colors are just different enough to be different colors - however, like its sister from the same mister, “Cavity” is kind of chalky and its sister just two pans over, “Root Canal”, feels the same. The quality of blending and application is a little worse than the other mattes because of this, but with a little more work they’ll give you the same pretty look the others will. “Extraction”, “Coma”, and “Fresh Meat” also feel chalky to the touch, but unlike the two I just criticized, they don’t suffer any disadvantages from this, and still apply and blend nicely. Other than the shadows/pigments I specifically mentioned, the mattes are soft, with the same powder-iness that “Beauty Killer” had, but this time, they’re creamier and have better pigmentation. “Glucose” specifically is my second favorite white shadow to use as a base for colorful looks. So, for the most part, yes - the mattes are striking, luxurious, and high-PIGMENT. Not quite extreme yet, Blood Sugar.
Now for the two metallics - some of my favorite formulas in this entire palette. Both of them ( “Donor” and “Blood Sugar” ) are stunning - heavy on the pigment and the beautiful, reflective finish, and with the soft, creamy texture and the lack of powder or fallout, they’re the Chad of the frost-metallic-foil shadows that JSC puts out. “Donor” is a little more metallic-y than “Blood Sugar”, and both of them play well with a wet brush - water and my setting spray!
Finally, the foil-frosts. They’re pretty much the same as the originals - just with more powdery-ness, and the same pigmentation. I love them all the same, but the metallics and soft, buttery mattes take the cake on this palette for me.
So, what is my final score for this palette? 4.5/5. It loses a half point because of the chalky shadows, which make up a third of the mattes.
Part 3: Cost.
Finally, you might be thinking to yourself, we’re done! This is the end of the review! And right you are - this is the last segment before I add my notes, and you’re free to go about your day again! ( Assuming you even got here! )
So, “Beauty Killer” retails for $45. For ten shadows, in large pans, is this worth it?
Not really. While I wouldn’t say this is terribly over-priced, I do feel $45 for the quality you get and the color range is a bit much, but with as much product comes in the pans, I can’t complain all that much. It gets a 3.5/5, and overall, a 3.5/5. Not the best, but not the worst. A good palette overall.
As for “Blood Sugar”? At a $52 retail price, I think it’s a bit much. The shadows are good, yes, and very pigmented, but I can get the exact same quality for a fraction of the price - I feel like most of the price tag on this palette goes into the packaging, and while it is nice, I don’t think $34 is a good price for fancy, faux-leather covered cardboard. 4/5, and a overall score of 4.5/5.
Thank you for reading my lengthy review of the JeffreeStarCosmetics “Beauty Killer” and “Blood Sugar” palettes! Please consider leaving a like on this post or following me for more if you enjoyed this, and please keep in mind that again, this is just my own experience. If these palettes are better or worse for you, that’s fine!
( Notes: I used the TooFaced “Shadow Insurance” and Medusa’s Makeup eye primers with these shadows, and the NYX Mattifying setting spray for some of them. )
( Also, for my estimate on the price of the shadows vs the packaging of “Blood Sugar”, I compared it to the “Opalescent” palette BHCosmetics recently put out. It has more shadows, smaller pans, but the same quality - which is why I used it as my example. )

HOW TO ACTUALLY MAKE YOUR MAKEUP LAST ALL DAY
We all have those days when you look up from washing your hands in the afternoon, and in an absolute moment of horror, realise your makeup does not look the way it did when you applied it. “Is this just the worst bathroom mirror of all or have I really looked this bad all day?” is a question I ask myself pretty much every week. Why is getting your makeup to last all day such a seemingly impossible task?
One of the most frequent questions Celebrity Artist Varsha Choradiya gets from her clients is how she gets her makeup to last so long. As a pro, she has quite a few tricks up her sleeve on keeping foundation in place, blush from fading, and mascara from smudging. Below, she’s sharing her go-to techniques and products she personally uses to keep her makeup in place all day long.
1. Prep your skin
No matter what measures you take to prolong the wear of your makeup, if your skin isn’t prepped properly with skincare, then your makeup won’t look smooth or last long.
Exfoliate
Oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells stack up on the surface level of the skin, which leads to texture that shows through when makeup is applied. Exfoliate your skin at least two times a week to keep skin smooth so that your makeup lasts longer.
Tone
Using a toner after cleansing and exfoliating will balance out the pH of your skin for a smoother and brighter appearance, which will also help any complexion products stay smooth for a longer period of time.
Moisturise
Properly moisturising your skin with the correct moisturiser for your skin type will provide the perfect canvas for complexion products to stay looking fresh all day. Also, try a moisturiser that is oil-free so that it absorbs quickly while giving adequate moisture to the skin.
2. Prime eyes and face
Primers are the essential first cosmetic step for helping your makeup last all day. Not only do they seal in your skincare, but they also create a barrier that smoothens the surface of your skin for prolonged wear.
Face Primer
This can be tailored to skin type to help fill in pores and fine lines and to create a smooth surface for your foundation to go on more easily and last longer. Try to get an oil-free, water-based primer; this will keep your foundation from slipping or moving around.
Eye Primer
Eye primers create a surface for eyeshadow to show its true pigment and blend easier, and it also helps eyeshadow and eyeliner last all day without smudging or creasing.
3. Use an oil-free foundation
Oil-based products make it more likely that makeup will slide out of place. If you have a dryer skin type, make sure you moisturise very well before using an oil-free foundation. Opt for one that is long-wearing and will smooth your complexion all day.
4. Layer your cream or liquid-based products with a matching powder
Liquids and creams tend to slide off throughout the day, so to have your complexion products last, try finding lightweight powders that match the colour of your liquid foundation and cream blushes.
Instead of “buffing” the powder in small circles on top of liquids and creams, try “stippling” the product onto your face. This technique of tapping the product will keep your liquids and creams from moving and will lock in your complexion products, keeping them from sliding off throughout the day.
Keep a lightweight powder with you to lightly tap the product into areas that might appear shiny throughout the day.
5. Apply makeup using light layers
Less really is more when you want your makeup to last all day. I recommend using a beauty sponge to apply light layers to create a smooth, texture-free complexion. This will leave your skin looking natural without feeling heavy or looking cakey.
7. Switch to waterproof mascara and eyeliner
Opt for waterproof when you want your eyes to stay smudge-free all day long. Mascaras and eyeliners tend to smudge under the eyes after excessive wear and especially if you use eye cream. Try a waterproof formula so that you don’t get the “raccoon effect” after a few hours.
8. Mix primer with a matte liquid lipstick to make a cream blush
This is the best way to make a cream blush stay on all day. Cream blushes tend to fade away throughout the day, but when creating your own with a liquid lipstick and some primer, your blush is guaranteed to last! Just mix a small amount of equal parts liquid lipstick and primer to create the perfect tint. Use more primer to dilute the colour or use more liquid lipstick to make the color stand out.
9. Apply lipstick the right way
If you’re not really into the matte liquid lipstick trend and still like your satin finish lipsticks, try applying it in layers.
Apply your lipstick, blot with a tissue, dust a layer of translucent finishing powder over, then apply another layer of your lipstick. Repeat until you get the opacity of the lipstick that you want.
This layering technique will give your satin lipsticks a base to hold on to without drying out and cracking your lips.
10. Finish the look with a setting spray
Setting sprays are a makeup artist’s favorite finishing touch, especially for a client that has an all-day event. It not only can refresh your makeup, but it also seals your makeup for a very natural look that lasts all day. Setting sprays are so popular now that there’s an array of different formulations that mattify, hydrate, and even have illuminating pigments to promote a glow.

The Natural Skin Studio with Jane Iredale
Tumblr media
This week I had the opportunity to attend a skin workshop with clean beauty brand Jane Iredale. For those of you who might be new to my blog or haven’t heard of Jane Iredale, they are a cruelty free makeup brand that creates “clean” makeup (this means they don’t use any harsh chemicals in their products).  The creator of the brand (yes Jane Iredale herself) even grows her own minerals if she can’t find a good source of clean minerals to use in her products. Next year will actually be their 25th anniversary and as an artist who is looking to replace my “cruelty” brands with cruelty free brands, this company has really taken my interest as it’s products do work very well.
This particular event was held at their UK head office in the IIAA and lead Jane Iredale Makeup Artist, Natalie Soto-Carlisle was in charge of demonstrating 2  looks to a room full of beauty insiders.
Tumblr media
I arrived with friend and fellow makeup artist Claire Mazik (of Purely Green Beauty) and we were greeted by some new members of the Jane Iredale team and an array of lovely breakfast foods and coffee!
Demo 1 - Spa Skin
The first demonstration was largely focused on the various foundations and powders Jane Iredale offer. Lead artist Natalie created the new “Spa Skin” makeup trend  on model Lavinia while awnsering our questions.  I found this demo really useful as Natalie was very well informed on all the ingredients and her product knowledge was  incredible. It was fantastic to learn about what Jane Iredale products would work better for  TV/Film jobs and what products work better for bridal jobs.
She started creating the spa skin look on Lavinia with Smooth Affair Primer (which is  also available in a version for oiler skin tones as well) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natalie used Active Light Concealor and Pressed Powder to set it in place. A  key product used to give shape to the face was the new Contour palette  applied with their new Vegan friendly makeup brush ranges - I already have this product and it has been really fantastic for all makeup jobs so far as it comes with a highlighter / blusher as well as contour shade :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As well as creating a gorgeous base, Natalie used the Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette on both demonstrations saying how much she loved the deeper shade Fudge in the corner for definition on the eye :
Tumblr media
I was writing notes furiously as she had some great tips to share! I found out the Beyond Matte Powders are great for HD makeup work as they don’t have rice/mica or sunscreen in them which  creates flash back on screen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Launching this Autumn
I also had a sneak peek at the exclusive new Breast Cancer Awareness Play On Lip Colour called “Sunny” which isn’t launching until September (shown below and also on Lavinia on the final look) :
Tumblr media
Along with the new Play On Lip Stick, Natalie told us they are also launching some new brow shades in the fall! Currently you can find three water resistant shades (shown below), but from fall new additions will be added including Ash Blonde  and Medium Brunette.
Tumblr media
The Final Look From Demo 1 :
Tumblr media
Skin :
Contouring Palette (highlighter and blusher also used from the palette)
Active Light Concealer with the Camouflage Concealor Brush (Vegan friendly)
Pressed Powder to set Active Light applied with the Delux Shader brush
The Fan Brush was used to apply blusher from the Contour Pallette
Peaches & Cream Highlighter to brighten skin which has more gold tones than silver cool tones so works well with Lavinia’s skin type
Balance Hydration Spray to set the makeup
Tip : Balance Hydration Spray is great setting spray for using on Red Carpet/TV/Film jobs as it has a more matte finish
Eyes :
Champagne Silk Eye Sheer as a base
Naturally Matte Eyeshadow Kit (Hush all over and Fudge in the Crease)
Angel Liner Brow Brush to apply Saphire Mystikhol Gel Liner
Mascara Primer / Black Mascara
Lips :
Sunny BCA Lipstick (out in Sept)  with the Retractable Lip Brush
Demo 2 : Airbrushing With Jane Iredale Products
The next demonstration was all about Airbrushing with Jane Iredale products which IS possible but in a specific way...
Tumblr media
To airbrush with Jane Iredale products Natalie explained that Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder is the best foundation option (incidentally this is their best coverage powder foundation with SPF20). (Makeup Artist Note : The powder has a food grade coated titanium so it works well for film work unlike other mineral brands that have an uncoated titanium which creates flashback.)  She used a 4D pressure system with an Iowada Brush Gun fed from the top. She used Pommisst to create a little foundation mixture to feed through the machine. She made a point that Pommisst is the only JI spray that can be used to create the mix in the airbrush machine as the other sprays may cause the powders to coagulate in the machine.
She used a 1 oz jar, 1 teaspoon of Amazing Base Powder per 3 x teaspoons of Pommisst Spray. This ready made air brush foundation mix can keep for 12 months and must be used on completely hydrated bare skin.
Tumblr media
She applied toner to model Lavinia’s face and Smooth Affair Primer to the face to prepare for airbrushing.
Airbrushing Tip : Let any tiny hairs that are obvious on the face lie flat, don’t be tempted to touch them or you will leave an imprint in the foundation. Once you’ve finished airbrushing you can go over with the Flock sponge to press over any areas and smooth out the product
The Final Look From Demo 2 :
Tumblr media
Skin :
Pommisst Spray
 Smooth Affair Primer
Amazing Base Powder Foundation (mixed with Pommisst through the air brush machine)
Active Light Concealor
Tantasia (mixed with Palmist thorugh the air brush machine)
Golden Shimmer Highlighter Mixed with Pommist (through the air brush machine)
Eyes :
Brow Pencil (New shades coming this fall)
Champagne Silk Eye Sheer
Naturally Matte Eyeshadow Pallette
Emerald Mystikhol Gel Liner
Black/Grey Eyeliner Pencil
Mascara Primer / Black Mascara
I particularly loved how Natalie used the Golden Shimmer to highlight Lavinia’s skin through the air brush machine. She made a note that 24k Gold Pigment (a loose gold shimmer Jane Iredale makes) should NOT be used through the air brush machine.
Tumblr media
All in all this was a really great event as it was very educational. I love learning new tips and tricks and the Jane Iredale team did a fantastic job of inspiring all of us and teaching us a little bit more about the way the products in the brand can be used for professional use.
Tumblr media
I was also very blessed to walk away with a few of the products to try out myself ! I chose to go home with some products that I thought I would make the most use out of in my professional kit including :
Tumblr media
Hand Drink Lotion
Absence Oil Control Primer
D20 Spray (great for bridal work)
Mini Lemongrass Love Spray
Smooth Affair Primer
A decent cruelty free fixing spray, primer and matte powder will never go amiss. I can’t wait to start using these products on my clients !
Thank you so much to the wonderful Jane Iredale team and Lead Artist Natalie for inviting me to this event - it was such a lovely experience.
As a little thankyou to my readers you can use my unique discount code at the check out to get 15% off until May 31 at  www.janeiredale.co.uk (for all your cruelty free beauty needs !)  Just put KIND15 in the check out! :)

hello :) i luv ur replies so it's me again! feel free to ingore them if it's too much! 41, 33, 24, 11, 2 (and it's not there, but favorite highlighter and favorite formula for highlight?) 🌷🌷
Hello again~ 💗💗💗 I’m glad you liked my replies! And don’t worry, it’s not too much at all. I love answering questions!
41- regret purchase?
Oh, I have quite a few unfortunately. The absolute worst was the maybelline  dream velvet soft matte foundation. That was just…beyond terrible. Even after exfoliating/moisturizing it looked so cakey and dry. No matter how little product I used or how well I blended it out, it always looked heavy and mask like. And after less than an hour of wear it would begin separating. I will say though I should’ve known a matte foundation wasn’t gonna be compatible with my dry skin. I guess I assumed because it’s described as a ‘soft matte hydrating foundation’ it might’ve worked, but I assumed wrong lol.
The bare minerals bareskin serum foundation was an absolute disaster too. Emphasized every pore, looked dry, and barely even covered minor redness in my skin. I love some of bare minerals other foundation forumla’s but this one really missed the mark.
Last makeup regret would have to be the maybelline fit me dewy+smooth foundation. This one really disappointed me because it had such a gorgeous satin-dewy finish and really nice coverage, but it broke me out so bad. @pat-mcgrath said the matte version of this broke her out too, and I suspect it may be because of the added fragrance in the formula. Synthetic fragrance is known to irritate skin and this foundation is loaded with it. Now that I think about it, any foundation I’ve purchased with synthetic fragrance in the formula has been a regret for me.
As for a skincare regret, the pixi skin treats cleansing balm was a real dud. It was like rubbing pure wax on my face, and it was so hard to get off. After the third time using it I just gave up trying to make it work.
33- favorite lip product?
Bite beauty lipsticks- Literally my favorite lipsticks of ALL TIME! I love them. The formula is so comfortable it’s like wearing a lip balm, and the pigmentation is great. They’re really moisturizing too and have a nice satin finish. They’re a little expensive but I think they’re worth it. Great color selection too.
H&M cream lipsticks- Affordable, pigmented lipsticks with a pretty glossy finish.
Jordana classic lip liners- These are so slept on and I don’t understand why! I find most lip liners to be uncomfortably dry and stiff, but these glide on really nicely while still being matte enough to keep my lipstick from feathering.
Sephora rouge gel lip liner- Really unique gel formula, I like to use them as lipstick.
Anastasia beverly hills lip gloss- Probably one of the most comfortable lip gloss formulas I own. Moisturizing without feeling tacky and the color selection is really pretty as well.
24- matte or glossy lips?
It’s probably obvious by this point but, glossy lips all day everyday! While I like the look of matte lips, I often find matte lipsticks way too drying. And I think glossy lips are super sexy lol.
11- what’s a popular, overhyped item you don’t like?
Hmmm, I’d have to say the Anastasia Beverly hills glow kits. I had suuuuch high hopes for them when I went to Sephora to try them out but it just emphasized all my acne and made my skin look textured. Very disappointing 😔
2- what’s your go-to drugstore makeup brand?
Milani Cosmetics! I love almost every product I’ve purchased from Milani. Their Everyday Eyes eyeshadow palettes are, in my humble opinion, some of the best drugstore palettes on the market and their eyeshadow primer is bomb.com. Their baked blush in luminoso is one of my favorite blushes because it has a super pretty gold glittery finish that doesn’t emphasize any texture on my skin, which is pretty rare for that type of formula. For special occasions when I need my makeup to last I use their mattifying+pore minimizing prime shield and it works so well with my bare minerals complexion rescue tinted moisturizer. It really prolongs the wear of the foundation without making it look too matte. The lipsticks are nice too, I just wish they didn’t have that terrible artificial watermelon candy scent.
Fave highlighter and fave formula for highlight
I love the rms beauty living luminzer. It has a gorgeous subtle pearlized finish, and it just looks really dewy and natural on the skin. I think this color would look really nice on pale folks. Surprisingly it doesn’t lift my foundation like a lot of cream/wax based products tend to do either. It’s excessively expensive though so I’ll probably purchase the glossier haloscope or the milk makeup highlighter once I run out. I’m definitely a cream/liquid highlighter kind of girl. Powder highlighters just exacerbate my skin texture too much.
Thanks for the questions!!! Once again I had a lot of fun answering~😉 Have a great day 💞

yo, what primer+foundation+concealer+powder do you use?
ooh! a makeup question!
most of my makeup is drugstore – my favorite brands are too faced and urban decay, but this fandom mom is usually broke and won’t splurge on the high-end stuff :p
anyway!
i use e.l.f.’s blemish control primer to start my face. i’m blessed with pretty clear skin on its own, but i do get breakouts from time to time (usually just before ‘shark week’), and i’ve found that this primer helps keep the blemishes to a minimum.
right now, i’m really liking ulta’s pressed setting powder in ‘banana’ (the website is only giving me a palette, but mine is a .28oz single). e.l.f. translucent matifying powder is nice too, but it’s more of a pink/peach tone while the ulta banana powder’s yellow-gold tone is more complimentary to my skin. i also use this as my finishing powder. there’s undoubtedly some better product out there, but i’m on a budget and that works for me. :p
for foundation, i’ve used a lot of different things, but i really like maybelline’s fit me liquid foundation - matte + poreless in 330 toffee. ulta’s swatch is horrible for some reason (i assure you, my shade is not fucking tangerine), but the swatch on the maybelline site is much closer to the actual color. maybelline also has a surprisingly decent range of shades, which is nice - especially when it costs less than $10 a bottle. (for high-end, too faced’s “born this way” foundation is a dream…but it’s also like $40.)
my concealer is also by maybelline; i use their “fit me” in medium/deep, but it looks like their changed up the packaging, so i’ll have to do some investigating when i run out of what i have. bleh.
but anyway, that’s the base face stuff I use. thank you for asking!

Hello Beauty Babes!
I ordered one of the palettes from the new NYX In Your Element collection which features 6 elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Metal, Water, Wind) Each element has its own palette for $30 (which I really think is just hella expensive), and three lipsticks for $9.
I only picked up the Fire palette from the Elements collection, but I did pick up a few products from the website that are either new, or only online right now.
I’ve spent the past few weeks really testing this baby out (as well as the other products) and am gonna give you ALL the tea!
So, let’s get into it. I’m gonna go straight to the palette!
I was very happy with the packaging and size. It’s about the size of my hand, not including the fingertips, and the pan sizes are great. They aren’t super small, so you can swatch with your finger, and get into it with your brush. plus, you get a fair amount of product!
so, lemme be 100% honest with you guys
I love this palette.
I do! specifically, the mattes. They are so amazing! They have the formula of higher end shadows, and in some cases, its actually better! Well, from swatching. I haven’t done a full eye look yet but seriously these are sooooo smooth. they only need one or two layers for full pigmentation.
The red is like a classic firetruck engine red color and it is so stunning and pigmented! I also love the orange shade in the bottom left corner. pretty much all the mattes are fire. the burgundy is rich in pigment, and the warm red toned brown is as well. Yellow is not an easy eyeshadow color to make. I’ve found that some can be less pigmented than the other shadows in the palette, and can also bunch up when swatching. I find that the yellow in this palette does kind of the same thing, but its pigmented and blends well.
The metallics. If you’ve read my post on the My Little Pony palette from PUR then you’ll understand me when I say this:
WHY CAN’T I FIND A PALETTE WITH THE METALLICS I WANT?!?!?!
I want metallics that POP that stand out, that sparkle and reflect. These metallics, just don’t do that. However, they aren’t ALL bad.
The gold in the middle section is probably my least favorite metallic shade. It doesn’t pop, and in my opinion why else would you wear gold if it isn’t showstopping? Same with the yellow toned shade in the top left corner. Honestly I don’t see myself wearing that shade. However, The Copper and Blue/Brown shades in the bottom right corner. I love them! The copper isn’t sparkly, but it is very pigmented and I’ve worn this and loved it! Same with the blue brown shade. It’s pigmented and actually metallic!
So, the big question is…Is it worth the high price point? $30?! When I heard that I was like BIHHHHHHHH but now that I own and use this palette, here’s my two cents…
I think it’s worth it. These shadows are so pigmented, and blendable. Of all the red’s I own, this may be my favorite! Fall out isn’t crazy, and I get a pigmented blended look every time! The only negative would be the two metallic shades that don’t give me the metallized look I want. But still, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another palette. In fact, I’m really hoping to get the Earth palette next!
So, I really do think this is a good buy. If you like warm, fiery looks, this is the palette for you!
So, I picked up some other products from the NYX website. Mainly products I haven’t found at Ulta, that are just online.
I bought the NYX HydraTouch Oil Primer for $13.99.
I haven’t seen this in store and i was also really interested in this because one, I have normal/dry skin and am always up to try anything that will help hydrate skin, and two, because this reminded a lot of the Smashbox Oil Primer!
I was a bit skeptical about putting an oil primer on my face. I was worried it may act badly with the foundation or make me look greasy.
BUT OH MY GOD THIS PRIMER IS AMAZING!!!
It gives me such a dewy fresh flawless makeup look. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten asked what primer/foundation I use whenever I wear this! I do make sure to set my face with powder just so my face makeup will last and won’t look shiny. I do think if you aren’t wearing a full face of foundation you can get away with not setting the whole face.
If you were like me and wanted to try out the smashbox oil primer without paying so much, I would totally buy this primer. Even if you have drier skin, and want a hydrating primer for a dewy finish, check this primer out!
P.S. if you want to see this primer in action, check my IG posts from the past week or so. (there’s a link on my home page) @SageSlays_
Next, I picked up the NYX #ThisIsEverything Lip Oil for $6.00. (why am I so into oils?)
I am always interested in products that moisturize and hydrate and prep lips. So I thought this would be great for that.
This is such a great formula. It’s not too thick and it isn’t sticky, but it’s thick enough to really moisturize the lips. I use this before bed, when I wake up, before makeup to prep my lips for lipstick, AND this is great by itself for a clear gloss lip look. I am totally loving this product.
Lastly, I bought one of the NYX Prismatic Shadows in the shade Dollface for $5.99.
I have a few of the Prismatic Shadows. These are either amazing in terms of color and formula (Like the shades Rose Dust & Gilded, which are faves of mine) or, they just…aren’t as good.
Dollface is a shadow that I don’t yet know how to feel about it. When I first swatched it was dissapointed. It wasn’t super metallized, and there was some fall out from the swatch. However, when I applied this damp, the formula had improved alot and I got really great color. I haven’t worn this on the lid yet, but will update you on this post when I do eventually.
Alright you guys! That’s all for this post!
Keep up with me on social media:
Instagram: @SageSlays_      Snapchat: @SageCatherineXO        Twitter: @SageSlays
I’ll see you guys in my next post!
Stay Fierce, & Stay Fiery!
XOXO, Sage Slays
NYX Haul!!! Including The New NYX In Your Element Fire Palette! 🔥✨ Hello Beauty Babes! I ordered one of the palettes from the new NYX In Your Element collection which features 6 elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Metal, Water, Wind) Each element has its own palette for $30…

Story of Another Us | Week 3
university au, platonic af
previous chapter
A wasted heart that just eclipses
“Good morning,” I greeted to my phone camera. I was still in bed, my hair was in a bun, and my face was naked, vacant of any makeup. “So I may have forgotten to post a video on Friday, so I’m just going to vlog today’s adventures.” By “forgotten,” I mean that anxiety took its toll and robbed me of my motivation, but I didn’t like admitting that without going off on many tangents.
I had done daily vlogs before. Lots of people liked them for some reason. Domesticity is apparently very popular. Also, some people only watched my daily vlogs in the hopes that Mark would pop up, or, at this point in time, maybe even Jack.
“Literally, all I have today is class, and I’m going to be taking a small Irish man with me,” I explained as I sat up. “I might even drag him to Sephora with me after. I do need to restock on some things, so we’ll see.”
I stopped recording and sighed. Now I’ve practically given away that I was going to be with Jack. Would he even want to be in my vlog? I should have thought about this before. I didn’t just want to throw a camera into his face. He’s said before he doesn’t like people doing that… Maybe I should just not make any video at all?
I thought about it as I got out of bed. I also noticed that the house was oddly quiet. Mark, Matt and Ryan must have been out of the house. As for Jack… he must have been gone too, that is if he decided to ditch class today. Maybe now I could have some time alone. I felt like I hadn’t properly recharged in a really long time.
Despite that I’ve made the opposite known, I decided to look like I had my shit together. It took about an hour to get myself ready, having decided to do something with my long ass hair. Thankfully, keeping it in a bun didn’t put it in bad shape, all I had to do was curl the bright pink ends. Then I went through my entire makeup routine, and that was when I realized there hadn’t been a sound throughout the house, not even Chica’s little pitter-patters in the hall. It disturbed me a little bit, but I took a deep breath and tried to convince myself it wasn’t a big deal.
Once I was dressed, I wandered about the house. No one was in their room or bathroom, or anywhere until I went downstairs. Jack was sitting at the breakfast bar, headphones on and staring intently at his laptop. However, he looked up when he saw me, smiling warmly. No wonder it was so quiet.
“You’re dressed up,” he observed, eyeing my outfit. I was wearing a skirt for a change, and plenty of people were definitely going to point it out.
“I’m just vlogging today,” I replied.
“Oh, well you look nice!”
“Thank you!”
He changed the subject. “I’m just waiting for this video to upload, and then I’ll be ready to go.”
“Take your time,” I told him.
I made myself a coffee while I waited. I decided not to eat anything with it even though it would have killed more time. Luckily, I remembered I still had to do my “makeup of the day” selfie so I went to the window in the living room and took my phone out. I got a few shots, making sure to get angles of every feature on my face.
After that, I went to Twitter to see what was going on. My mentions were just demands for the selfie I had yet to post. My MOTDs were the only consistent thing about my time on the internet, and when it's just a little late, people get antsy. And rude, mostly rude.
Instead of acknowledging that, I asked what highlighters I should try out.
Then I went back upstairs to the bathroom to look over what I used on my face today. All my products were scattered across the counter, but I knew where everything was, so I snapped a picture on my phone before deciding to take another picture for Snapchat. Once that was done, I put everything away, knowing they would be misplaced or broken if I left them out here. Once, I left my Kat Von D contour kit out on the counter for an hour and when I came back, the pressed powders were mysteriously broken.
Not long after I was done posting my pictures, Jack called my name from downstairs. I sighed, calming my nerves as I went to go meet him.
I didn't mention my vlog again until we were in the car. Or, I thought about mentioning it, but my anxiety induced ass kept my mouth shut. I had to get a video up on my channel, people were asking for it. I hated getting so nervous about it. I just didn't want him to think I was one of those YouTubers that vlogs every single second of their lives.
“Do you mind if you're in my vlog?” I suddenly blurred halfway through the ride to campus. “I-I mean, if you want, sorry. Like, it's just that I didn't post a video over the weekend y pues necesito poner algo en mi canal pero no quiero molestarte…” I trailed off, realizing I had switched languages. I did that sometimes.
“Bella,” Jack said, and I could hear a smile in his voice, “I'd love to be in your vlog. You don't have to explain yourself to me, even though I have no idea what you said. It's no problem at all.”
I was quick to hand him my phone. “Do you mind vlogging while I drive?”
“Of course!” He put on the front camera and aimed it at both of us.
“Hi! We’re on our way to campus!” I said in my ‘vlogger’ voice as soon as it was recording. “This is Jack, by the way.”
“Hi!” he greeted.
“We’re kind of roommates,” I tried to explain.
“We crashed Mark’s house,” he said. “We’re the monsters in his basement.”
“Yeah!” I chuckled. “We’re also classmates, and if I vlog more, then you may see even more of this guy!”
“I also crashed Bella’s house,” Jack added.
I hesitated, then laughed. “Someone’s gonna take that the wrong way.”
~
“So class was cancelled,” I spoke to my phone camera as Jack and I walked through campus. “We have like, two hours to kill. So, we’re probably gonna go eat, and then go to Sephora.”
“What’s that?” asked Jack.
I smiled almost wickedly for the camera. “You’ll find out.”
Obviously I only said that for the vlog. I explained to Jack what exactly Sephora was, and the told him he didn’t have to come with me if he didn’t want to.
“No, I’ll go with you!” he cheerily said. “Let’s do it!”
“Wait, really?” I asked, surprised.
“Yes! Let’s go!” He sounded way too excited. Then again, it is Jack. But it’s also a freaking makeup store.
Either way, I wasn’t going to complain.
This is weird, but I felt a sense of peace walking into the store. Technically, it should have triggered my anxiety. If you walk in there with no makeup, you get death glares from other shoppers, and the employees treat you like you don’t know anything about beauty. Speaking of the employees, they also try to talk to you and advise you on what colors go with your eyes and skin tone and other stuff I didn’t necessarily agree with. Yet, I was calm when I walked inside.
Jack followed me wherever I went, looking fascinated but also confused. For once, there weren’t a lot of people in the store, so he wasn’t recognized by anyone. Yes, even in Sephora, Jack was sure to get recognized. That’s what I expected at least. Even more surprisingly, he was intrigued by all the products.
“What’s that?”
“Primer.”
“What does it do?”
“Smooths out your skin and helps your makeup last longer.”
“What about this? It’s shiny!”
“Oh! Just what I was looking for. Highlighter!”
I looked at the sample on the display shelf. Urban Decay. I hummed in thought.
“What does it do?” Jack asked, looking over my shoulder.
“Makes your skin glow,” I replied. “Kind of like a healthy glow, depending on what the highlighter is like.”
I swatched the sample on my finger, showing him the iridescent, pearly color. Then, a thought came to mind. “This color might actually go with your skin tone.”
He chuckled. “Mine?”
Smiling, I took his wrist and wiped, for lack of a better word, the shimmering product onto his skin. “Actually… no. You’re a teeny bit too pale.”
“Of course I am!” He laughed.
“But it would look great on me!”
We continued browsing through the store. I also realized I hadn’t been vlogging the whole thing. Every time I’ve tried to vlog in Sephora in the past, I was always told off by an employee. So technically, Jack was actually curious about these things. He followed me around the store, far more interested than I expected. He was especially captivated by the Too Faced counter, and I knew exactly why.
“Does… does that actually smell like chocolate?” he asked, pointing to a specific eyeshadow palette, a childlike wonder in his eyes.
“It does.” I smiled wide, practically giddy that someone was open enough to talk to me about my one interest. “I have this palette, too. It’s actually my favorite.”
“That’s so fucking cool! Wait-” He leaned closer to read the label. “Why is it fifty fucking dollars?”
“Excellent question!”
“And this! It’s a heart with powder in it! Why is it thirty five fucking dollars?”
“Let’s not think about prices,” I told him, sympathetically patting his shoulder. “They’re pretty, and for me, they’re necessary.”
“Are they really?”
“Well, it’s what I do for a living, so yes.”
“Why do you like it so much?” he asked, looking at me. “I’m not trying to be mean or belittle you, I’m actually curious.”
Don’t know about him, but the mood changed for me.
“I’ll tell you that story one day.”
~
I thought I had enough questions about Mark. Jack’s fanbase… well, they were a lot nicer. Still invasive, but nicer. I edited and uploaded my vlog the same day I filmed it, and it got the numbers I half expected. Plenty of views and likes, not that that mattered. What mattered to me was what they were saying the following day. Many of them requested I do Jack’s makeup for a video. Many requested he do mine. Some said we should date. But by far, the best thing I had seen was a drawing of me and Jack as Cosmo and Wanda. I guess having the ends of your hair dyed bright pink qualifies you as eligible to be drawn as a fairy! I loved it!
I hadn’t used Tumblr so much in a very long time. A lot of Jack’s followers were now messaging me, not just on there, but on Twitter, Instagram, and all of my other social media as well. I wasn’t sure whether to be cynical because they saw me now as an extension of Jack and Mark, or nervous because now more people were aware of my existence.
I mean, it’s not like they were doing anything wrong. Hardly anyone was rude, most people were saying I was pretty, that my makeup was on point. Compared to other vloggers’ audiences, Jack’s was very kind and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised.
“You’ve been on your phone every chance you’ve gotten all day,” Mark pointed out that evening. “And you’re actually smiling.”
“I don’t think I’ve had this much attention before,” I said, still scrolling. “I thought people would hate me for being around Jack.”
Mark scoffed as he lied down next to me in bed. “What’s there to hate?”
“Well, I’m resented for being around you.”
“Hey, they came around. They like you.” Mark always tried to see the best in his audience, but he also knew they hated me when we first went public. I couldn’t really blame them, but it still sucked.
“Either way, I shouldn’t think about it too much,” I concluded, finally putting down my phone, turning to face my boyfriend.
As soon as I was unoccupied, Mark practically attacked me. He managed to dive into me and roll me onto my back. I yelped, then giggled as he pinned me down.
“I feel like I haven’t had you to myself lately,” he told me, leaning in so our noses touched.
“I know, things have been so busy,” I replied, despite how trapped I felt in this position. I tried to keep my breathing normal. It’s been awhile since I’ve been this close to anyone, and Mark knew this.
“Let me make it up to you,” Mark said, his voice deep and very close to my ear.
I gasped and shivered as his lips attacked my neck. My stomach dropped and my face heated up so much I was surprised Mark’s hair didn’t singe off as it tickled my cheek. I squirmed, trying to get out of this awkward position.
Luckily, Mark caught on, picking his head up and peering down at me. “You okay?”
“C-Can we do this another time?” I asked, my voice small and shaky.
He paused for a split second, but nodded and rolled back to his side of the bed. “I’m sorry, I got carried away.”
“It’s okay,” I replied, taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry… I still get really nervous…”
I’m so stupid. It’s not like I was a virgin. It’s not like he didn’t make me feel safe… I felt so guilty.
“I won’t make you do anything you’re not ready for,” Mark reassured, reaching down to take my hand. “It’s okay, I promise.”
“I’m sorry.” That was about ninety percent of my vocabulary.
“Don’t be.”

It’s all about the basic makeup essentials for every girl needs in her pouch to look more attractive.  There are many more things including foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. Once you have read markdown the 10 Essential makeup products for every girl in her makeup pouch.
So its high times to upgrade your makeup pouch with these latest makeup products. And the most important thing, there is no makeup skills are required to do makeup with these products.
How to choose the Best Makeup products?
If you are doing first-time makeup in your life, so you have to choose the best makeup products. I mean to say that the shade of foundation should be matched to your skin and getting the right applicator for your eyeliner. If we are talking about lipsticks and eye makeup there are a number of questions are arising like a shade of skin, waterproof options and much more.
In our beauty industries, there are many brands exists. When we are talking about the best makeup products, it means that the quality of the product and the quantity of the product.
So we are here to tell you accurately that what every girl should need in her makeup pouch to look more attractive.
Moisturizer
Moisturizer-It is like our daily routine formula for caring for our skin. It is a myth that everyone thinks that all the moisturizer is the same. They are made from different ingredients that target different issues like acne, dullness, wrinkles, etc. Moisturizer is in the form of cream, lotion, and oil.  When we are talking about the makeup essential product list, it comes first in our mind. It is a perfect makeup base for your face with any kind of makeup. When you moisturize your face it will quickly absorb into your skin and your face feels light.
I actually prefer Biotique Moisturizer. It is the best Ayurvedic Moisturizer made up of 100% organic and preservative-free ingredients.  What I like about this moisturizer is-pleasant fragrance and it is appropriate for all types of skin.
BB Cream
When you really want skincare and makeup together then it is a perfect match. In just one step you will get even tone of your skin, it hydrates, smooths and protects your skin from damage. We highly recommended Colorbar Perfect Match Beauty Balm with SPF 20. It will free your face from oil for 5-6 hours. It will glow your face for the entire day.
For the small functions or you can say that for quick makeup you can go with BB cream. You can use Foundation for a night out and BB Cream for day time alternative.  It is one of the best essential makeup products every girl needs in her makeup pouch to look attractive. You can use BB Cream for daily office routine makeup. It will moisturize and smooths your skin.
We recommend Clinique acne BB Cream. There are five different shades are available. And it has 40 SPF.
Matte Lipsticks
Lipsticks are like the right hand of makeup. Without lipsticks face makeup is incomplete. I think everyone should know that lipsticks are a very essential part of makeup products every girl needs in her pouch. Matte Lipsticks are now trending. It is something new and classy about lips. Matte lipsticks never go out from trend and fashion. Matte Lipsticks gives you a stylish and powerful look when you apply on your face. Three things come into my mind when we buy lipsticks i.e. finishing, color shade and brand.
I personally used M.A.C Lipsticks. You have to choose high-quality lipsticks from all above the brands. There are many shades available in this brand. You must try nude colors.
Primer
Primers are used to even the skin tone and prepare your face for other makeup products and keep you looking fresh right through the day. It will give you a mind-blowing base for the other product. Primer fill-ups all the pores and minimize the dullness of your face. If you never tried primer yet, it’s a high time to add primer in your makeup pouch. It will make your makeup long-lasting.
Primer is one of the best products you have to add in 10 Essential makeup products every girl needs in her makeup pouch to look more attractive.
I am using POREfessional Face Primer Pro which minimizes the appearance of large pores and fine lines. The bonus points contain the vitamin E derivative which protects the skin from free radicals. It will give you a matte natural matte look. This product gives the best result for normal to combination skin.
Concealer
Concealer is used to remove dark circles and hide your all blemishes. It is one of the essential makeup products in your make pouch. The best way to apply concealer is after foundation. Whenever we’re talking about the best concealer, means it’s all about coverage, consistency and staying power. Concealer is in liquid, cream or in stick form.
So I’m advising you to try L.A Girl HD Pro Concealer Color Corrector. There are three shades available in this concealer- Lavender Corrector, Peach Corrector, and Light yellow corrector.  I am using peach Corrector concealer. According to the tone of your skin, you have to buy concealer. You can also apply concealer directly to the BB Cream. It is a cruelty and paraben-free product.
Foundation
If you are looking for flawless skin, then you must apply the foundation on your face. Whenever you buy a foundation first thing that you noticed that the shade of foundation matches with your skin. If you are new to wear foundation, then you should go to Sephora or any other makeup department and try the shades which suit your skin.
We recommend Faces Canada Ultimate Pro HD Runway Ready Foundation. It hides imperfections from your skin. And the gold particles present in the foundation gives you a natural radiance. For the best result, you can apply the foundation with perfect Primer. Just apply foundation on your face where you want coverage and then just blend it with the brush.
Nude Eye Shadow Palette
Eye Shadow gives you the best and powerful impact on your face makeup. When we are talking about eye shadow….. People just want Smokey eye makeup. A perfect Eye Shadow palette gives you different shades of colors from which you will create a perfect eye makeup.
Personally I used M.A.C Eye Shadow X9-Burgundy Times Nine.  Six different colors are loaded in this palette. These are rich matte in texture offering numerous color combinations. It is best for Smokey eye makeup. It is a pocket-sized palette, easy portable.
Highlighter
Every woman needs glowing skin. Highlighter is one of the essential products every girl needs in her makeup pouch to look more attractive. For instant radiance, it is the best, easy and suitable product. Basically it used high point of your cheeks, on brow-bone or the bridge of your nose
We recommend Swiss Beauty Insta Glow Highlighting Stick. For a long makeup glow, it is a blend-able cream-based stick. You can also blend with your fingertips.
Eyeliner and Mascara
To give a perfect shape to your eye, you must use these two makeup products i.e. eyeliner and mascara. You should choose a waterproof eyeliner that can never fade and stay throughout the day. On the other hand, Mascara is now trendy these days. Girls wear mascara, eyeliner and use BB cream for daily routine, office wear and on a romantic date. When you are choosing Mascara you must focus on the shape of the mascara.
I am using Colorbar All Matte Eyeliner. It is a deep matte that lasts upto16 hrs. It is smudge-proof and waterproof all matte eyeliner. I am using L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara. The best thing about the mascara is- brush which gives us fanned- out lash effect. No clumps and no overloads, this mascara applicator coats the lashes consistently.
Compact
When you need to just touch up your face makeup, we need compact. It is just a quick and easy way to seal your makeup in just one touch. We recommend compact powder to those girls who have oily skin.
Personally I am using M.A.C Mineralize Skin finish-Global Glow.
Extra products every girl needs in her makeup pouch to look more attractive.

Hey doll hey!!! How are you doing today? Great I hope. I got up feeling pretty good today. Nose is still running but my sore throat is gone. I didn’t get much sleep last night because I was up coughing a heap but even with that I feel pretty OK today. I got up wanting to play with my Urban Decay Born To Run palette ($49 at Sephora) and I wanted to go a little glam today too so this was the look I came up with. Today ends my scent of the day series as I have run out of  new perfumes to share with you…. though I think I may still share with you what scent I am wearing …. I just wont be doing an individual picture and scent note for them since I already have done my whole collection. *NOTE* these pictures don’t do this eye look justice! For 1 it doesn’t look like the orange pop on the outer v is blended in but it truly is and there is this amazingly pretty gradient of colors that isn’t showing up on camera. So let’s jump into today’s scent and Face of the Day ….
Beyonce Heat. My mom actually gave me this perfume. But I did find it on Amazon for $12.50 for a 3.4 fluid ounce bottle. The scent notes are: Red Vanilla Orchid, Magnolia, Neroli, Peach, Honeysuckle, Almond, Musky Cream, Sequoia Wood, Tonka, and Amber. This scent is slightly sweet but heady with musk. It’s a very exotic scent. I have plans on repurchasing this one when I run out because I don’t have anything like this scent in my collection and it’s another scent that I get tons of complements on and questions as to what I am wearing.
Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Physicians Formula SoftLight Blurring Primer ($15.99 on their website) and I blurred my pores using Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Sephora). For foundation today I am wearing a combo of 2 squeezes of Pixi by Petra Flawless Beauty Primer ($22 on their website) and 10 pumps L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Fresh Wear Foundation ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade 420 True Beige. I lightly color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) in the shade Brightening Peach. I used 3 dots under each eye of Private Society Coveted Concealer ($22 on their website) in the shade Medium.  I set my full face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($23 at Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using BH Cosmetics Brilliance Bronzer ($10 at Ulta) in the shade Bronze Babe. For touch up powder today I am using Physicians Formula Natural Defense Setting the Tone Finishing Powder ($14.99 at Target) in the shade Light.
Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the Urban Decay Born To Run palette ($49 at Sephora). For my first transition shade I used the color Weekender  (light neutral beige matte). As my second transition and also crease color I used the shade Riff (brown-nude with floating micro-sparkle a light sequin shadow). For my full mobile lid I took went into the shade Accelerate (reddish copper metallic) and then tapped the shade Ignite (rose gold metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the lid for added dimension. For the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Baja (burnt orange matte). For the lower lash line I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Riff and then I went in and smoked that out using more of the shade Weekender. I then went in closest to the lash line and used more of the shade Baja from the outer end to 2/3 of the way in and then used a combo of the shades Accelerate and Ignite for the remaining 1/3 of the lash line. I tight lined both my upper and lower lash line using Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Pen ($12 at Target and on the Pixi website) in the shade Black Caviar (a deep rich brown). I highlighted the inner corners using the shade Blaze (light peach with pink shift metallic). I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.49 at Ulta) in the shade 05 Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte sides and set the brow line using L’Oreal 24-HR Infallible Eyeshadow ($7.99 at Walmart) in the shade 899 Endless Pearl (a creamy vanilla matte). I popped on a pair of Profusion Beauty 3D Faux Mink Lashes ($7 for pack of 5 on their website) in the style Big Tease and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).
Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                                My blush today is Tarte 12-HR Amazonian Clay Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Captivating (bright peach matte). I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows using ColourPop Disney Designer Collection (a very warm toned light gold metallic finished) A Smile and a Song (was limited edition and no longer sold). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Chi Chi (bright true orange) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($7 on their website) in the shade Chi Chi (bright true orange matte).
Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                   So I’m still waiting for my Covid-19 test results…. I’m going stir crazy at this point…. I mean I know we are on lock down right now, but if I couldn’t only get my test results back at least I’d be able to get out to go to the super market to food shop with my husband. I’m just so frustrated right now.
The President has signed our country’s Covid-19 Stimulus Package Bill so hopefully within a few weeks we will get some much needed help with our bills. I feel bad because I’ve had to dodge my non-essential bills because we just can’t pay them right now because my husband had to take a pay cut to stay working…. which has had a trickle down effect on our budget (as it has for many of us).
This weekend, to break up the monotony I was thinking of rearranging the furniture of my bedroom and living room. I also keep forgetting that we have a pool table/ping pong table that we could be using because it’s in our lanai so technically we are still sheltering in place.
Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope and pray that you are all in good spirits and in good health. Have a great rest of your day/night. Remember …. Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Orange Glam Look Face of the Day Hey doll hey!!! How are you doing today? Great I hope. I got up feeling pretty good today.

Pink Eyeshadow isn’t everyones go to but it’s definitely worth trying out to switch things up. Contour Kit in Warm & Cool
We featured these kits in the tutorial but I didn’t get a chance to say just how fantastic they are. They feature a blusher in the centre, a highlighter on the left and a cool or warm toned contour shade in the right (depending on which one you get). Ideal for giving cheekbones a lift in a really natural way. Trends are moving away from heavily contoured cheeks and into more fresh natural looks. As these are matte they will be perfect to create that balanced finish to makeup :
Tumblr media
Here is the very kind Claire at Purely Green Beauty or Clean And Green Claire as she is know kindly being a model for today, before & after the final looks.
