a/n: ngl, this one is a little difficult because almost all of edward's life in the orphanage was awful asfkaskfj but I'll try! this is more edward centric than x reader bc I wasn't sure if that's what you wanted. these headcanons jump around from childhood to when eddie is a teenager.

I like to think edward always had really severe bedhead which he would not take care of at all

the exception being if it was for mass, but this used to get him in trouble with the wardens a lot

until one year he just buzzed it all off bc he was sick of getting yelled at about it all the time.... except all the wardens were DEVASTATED

the wardens were rarely ever nice to him so he was very taken aback by this

so he eventually let it grow out again and started. kinda taking pride in his hair?

there wasn't a lot he could do with what little the orphanage had to go around, but sometimes with the money he'd get from his delivery job, he'd buy some nice hair gel and do his hair really neat before leaving for the day. eventually he would get compliments about how nice and soft it was and sometimes pretty people at school would ask to touch it which used to send his little heart into OVERDRIVE

tried growing it down to his shoulders ONE time but he eventually had to invest in hair ties and that was just way too much work

I can't remember if his hobbies are ever mentioned in the before the batman novel but since paul dano is a movie buff in real life, I think it would be cute if eddie was too

when he would get some money, he'd cut class to go to matinee showings and have the time of his life

it was nice bc it was somewhere he could be alone for a few hours and he could always afford a little escapism

the nights where his mind was still fresh with a movie he'd seen earlier in the day were some of the easier ones

sometimes he'd lay up in bed replaying them over and over in his head until he conked out for the night

and sometimes, when the really young kids couldn't fall asleep at night, he'd recite the plot of the movies he saw as bedtime stories

the older kids are awful to him but the younger kids? they love his bedtime stories

(he also might've gotten reported to the wardens about cutting class to see movies but his grades are so good that if they call about him skipping out on a class every now and then, some of the teachers will just straight up lie for him)

(and I mean, he gets really good grades. as long as he passes his classes and isn't getting into anything bad, they couldn't care less)

ironically, his time as a choir boy made him want to join a rock band as a kid

edward probably had a cheap little cd player he kept close to his heart and a secret stash of cds hidden in one of the ceiling tiles in the boys' bathroom that he'd pull out when he was alone and just lose himself in the music

I also like to think he's a fan of math rock and midwest emo because why wouldn't he be

once he got too old to be a choir boy, he started taking lessons from the organist just so he could do something with his hands

but you know what he'd really love to play if he could? the bass

if he'd had the money (and the assurance no one would destroy it), he would've loved to get a bass and just shred on it all hours of the night

very eloquent writer!! he used to write poems and songs as a kid that he'd run by his english teacher after class to get advice on

he's written a few secret admirer love letters to crushes over the years with that skill. he never had the guts to reveal he was the one behind them, but he preferred the reveals in his head where they at least could never go wrong

truth was, he'd slip in some riddles from time to time and it almost surely gave him away, but none of his crushes ever outed him on it and that was a small victory

used to take naps in church when he could get away with it but his snore would always give him away

if this takes place in the first snow universe, I'd also like to think that tween-age eddie would sneak out at night to come see you at your place

you'd wait for the tell-tale sign he was there—a small pebble at your window, followed by two more just to be clear, and then you'd rush downstairs to let him slip in through the backdoor

you'd share the leftovers from dinner in your room, laughing under the sheets as you shoot "would you rather"s at each other for as long as you have breath in your giggling little lungs

(you'd almost been caught a few times, and as eddie got older and as he eventually started climbing through your window when his legs got long enough, the rush of hiding under your bed while your father asked what all the noise was about would get him a little lightheaded)

sometimes you two would even lay in bed with the bedroom door locked (when you were old enough to get away with doing that), sharing your fears and worries and ambitions for the future

and you'd always fall asleep first

he'd always tuck you back in tight and sneak out the back door bc he didn't want to leave the window open in the winter, and he surely didn't want to wake you to close it

General Headcanons:

Edward didn't have much apprehension about going to college, he'd essentially been on his own his entire life only now he got three meals a day, and a decent bed to sleep on.

Also, this time around he's not completely alone, he has a couple of friends. two to be exact. they're a bit dorky, but so is he.

Eddie likes to skip class a lot, not in a lazy/slacker sort of way but just, he hates going to class, he's always hated school in general.

He knows enough to get by though, Edward is smart, especially when it comes to problem-solving, but he often doesn't have the energy to put any real time into his studies.

This is not a shocker, but he's not really a huge partier. Or a partier at all really. He doesn't like most of the people he goes to college with, why would he want to spend more time with them?

If we're to believe Edward's license in The Batman then he'd be going to college around 2003-2007... which is... wink...the prime emo music era.

Edward's not really into bands like fall out boy or panic! at the disco though, he tends to get a little stuck up when it comes to music and he finds them "too polished"

My Chemical Romance on the other hand? Oh, he could fuck it up to some mcr, hell yeah.

Gotham is in New Jersey... My Chemical Romance is from New Jersey, Eddie definitely at one point or another during My Chem's early 'Bullets' days found himself at one of their shows.

Actually Eddie really enjoys going to local shows. He doesn't really talk to anyone there, nor does he really dance, or mosh- he likes to just stand in the back and watch.

Edward enjoys seeing hardcore and screamo shows the most, he finds the vocal style insanely cathartic.

Sometimes he gets jealous watching the people who can just let loose and have a good time, but, he justifies it by saying standing there quietly is his idea of having a good time.

Eddie doesn't really drink at all. Maybe a beer on occasion, but never hard liquor or wine.

He does drops semi-frequently, a bad habit he picked up while in the orphanage. This is more so during his early days rather though, and he tries to wane off of them as he nears graduation.

He also smokes weed on a more frequent basis than he does drops. And despite his general awkwardness, he gets along pretty well with his plug, but he wouldn't consider the two of them friends.

His worst vice is smoking cigarettes, however. He'd picked up the habit while in the orphanage as well, and his nicotine addiction only worsened once he didn't have to sneak around with it anymore.

He enjoys menthol cigarettes the most because he's just a pretty big fan of mint in general, but he'll smoke just about any type of cigarette he can get his hands on.

Eddie for sure hates his roommate, he's loud, obnoxious, and rude-just the type of dude who'd bully him in high school. In fact, his roommate does bully him , despite being an adult. But, Edward isn't really surprised because guys like that usually never grow out of high school.

Sometimes when his roommate is out Edward will steal his papers, or erase/change his homework answers just to get back and fuck with him a little.

You and Edward met while you were drunkenly stumbling back to your dorm after a night out. He'd been standing outside on that late night, smoking a cigarette, you vaguely recognized him from one of your classes, you'd always thought he was cute. With the alcohol still rampant in your system, you were suddenly craving a cigarette, so you went up to him and asked him to bum one.

The two of you talked all that night, he was genuinely really surprised you'd been so nice to him. You were attentive and sweet, he instantly developed a crush on you.

But, boy, is that man head over heels in love with you. He just wants to spend every. single. hour of the day with you. His habit of skipping class only gets worse now that he's skipping his classes to see you when you have downtime.

You honestly end up having to have an intervention with him about it, because, his grades are starting to slip, and he's essentially just wasting the money he's been working for by not going to class.

Edward, reluctantly agrees to start going to class more, only because it'll make you happy though, not because he actually thinks there's any problem.

The two of you also go on little study dates in an attempt to help fix Edward's failing grades. You're not much of a tutor to him, rather just good company while he completes his mountains of missing assignments.

Edward does the best he can when it comes to dates, but, he's a broke college student, and so are you, so most of the time things aren't very extravagant.

He takes you to the movies a lot since it's pretty much within budget. It's become pretty much tradition to have bi-weekly movie dates, seeing almost every new movie that comes out. It's sweet, the two of you share snacks and hold hands during the movie, sometimes you'll push up the arm rests and snuggle into him, especially if the movie is late at night and you start to get sleepy.

He does however sometimes take more hours at work whenever he overhears you mention something you'd like so he can get the money and buy it for you.

Eddie is insanely overprotective, despite his slight stature. He's got a height advantage on most people, but that's about it. But if anyone even tried to lay a finger on you, he'd make his best attempt to beat them to a pulp.

Harvey Bullock is very stressed out due to the enormous amount of work, and he really doesn't want his co-workers to distract him with anything - be it riddles or jokes or fun facts - but he's also a man who can appreciate the idea of the holiday.

"Hey, Jim, have you heard, the Riddler hi-jacked the GCPD's clothing production warehouse. Now all the vests are green." "Uh-huh." "And they had to replace some of our ammunition with water balloons." "Sounds good." "You sure 'bout that, Partner? Have you heard that Barbara's dating Nygma?" "Yes." "They're naming their firstborn after me. "Yes-what?"

Harvey knowing the stress that can come with April Fool's day, makes sure to explain that something was a prank right away and not to lie about serious topics...unless the "news" is so very obviously a lie that you just have to get it, Jim. "Why would Barbara name her child Harvey? I mean, come on!"

This detective will be very tired at the end of the day and might need distance or a gentle touch depending on what happened during his workshift. Expect to hear the crazy stories on the next day. And the ones after that. There's a lot.

a/n: god i have so many, i think about this little freak far too often

Edward has asthma, it’s more mild but he still has a pump that he keeps in his work bag and on his desk at home. Tried smoking once in the orphanage and never again.

He spends so much time at his desk and crouched over his computer that’s he’s got the worst posture, sometimes he’ll catch himself hunched over and jerk upright.

Is so touch starved, someone once leaned against him during rush hour on the subway and he couldn’t stop thinking about how good it felt for weeks

Has some pretty bad anger issues, has these meltdowns where he yells and trashes his apartment, kicking and ripping down things from his walls.

He keeps every puzzle book he’s ever completed- actually he finds it hard to get rid of any of his possessions, he never had much in the orphanage so he’s prone to hoarding

Shops for clothes at charity shops/any where with a sale, he couldn’t care less about brand names, as long as it’s comfortable and cheap.

A guilty pleasure of his is binge watching childrens movies,especially Disney. He never got to watch them as a kid so he indulges in them now. They make him smile.

A pillow hugger, curls around it especially when he was nightmares which he’s very prone to. They can get bad, lots of sweating,whimpering and yelling.

He blushes so easily. Cheeks get flushed as soon as the weather gets chilly.

Classic music on when he works.

Can cook like 2/3 meals tops. Tends to get cheap microwave/oven meals or cheap takeaway. He’s eaten like one portion of vegetables this week.

Used to overeat straight after he got out of the orphanage, he wasn’t used to all the food and was scared that if he blinked it might disappear.

Always has cup noodles in the apartment and those instant cappuccinos.

He’s cleaned his apartment a handful of times since he’s moved in. It’s an organised mess in there.

Has spent way too long searching eBay for vintage cards. Don’t ask him about that one bidding war,he’s still not over it.

He’s spent so much time on every corner of the internet, has knowledge on the most random things.

Likes a lot of different genres of music, anything from rage against the machine to girls generation.

Can’t grow facial hair, maybe a tiny bit above his lip but nothing to write home about.

Hates being cold,reminds him of those winters in the orphanage, he’ll pay the high heating bill,it’s worth it.

Terrible with confrontation, he got mugged once and went home and trashed his apartment, felt so ashamed, he hates feeling weak.

He’s never been clubbing or to a bar, doesn’t drink often but when he does he drinks something that doesn’t taste like alcohol.

Was bullied a lot in the orphanage, the older boys used to scare him by telling him ghost stories (yes he’s still scared of ghosts)

Had a few good friends from the orphanage that he lost to drops.

Got the biggest rush the first time he went live, was buzzing for the whole day and couldn’t stop his hands from shaking.

Doodles on the corners of pages, on napkins, anywhere he can.

Has a lot of allergies, he was a pretty sickly child. Takes his medicine when he can afford it.

The man is a total virgin, he had a few chances to lose it but was honestly petrified.

Doesn’t really think about his sexuality much, if he had to put a label on it he’d say he was bisexual but he doesn’t really care for labels.

A few random head cannons I have for Edward Nashton <<33

His favorite book is house of leaves you cannot change my mind - its filled with mysteries and he loves that he can re-read it and find more little puzzles to solve every time.

He watches documentaries like a crazy man. He has a lot of unhealthy tendencies and behaviors, one of them is wallowing. Watching documentaries that make him sad or angry gives him an almost perverse sense of pleasure - its confirmation. Yes, the world is as terrible as you think it is. If he's not using them as a depressant he's watching them to learn. Understanding more about niche topics helps him write better riddles.

He's a punk. The music was one of the things that got him through his time at the orphanage, even as an adult one of the only times he feels sort of good is when he's at shows. Thrashing around and taking out his aggression via moshing. He's never felt the need to dress loud (probably due to self confidence issues, I have a feeling once he breaks out of arkham and he has no reason to hide his identity anymore he'll come into his own and put himself together better) but he does admire people who are alternative in some way a whole lot.

He has graphomania (an impulsive desire to write or draw). It started as a nervous habit as a child, writing down riddles or thoughts or bible quotes to get anxiety out, then it spiraled into writing anything - one word over and over again, nonsense, it doesn't even have to be legible.

He has always wanted to go back to college and get more degrees. He has a bachelors in accounting of course, but he wants so many more. He loves learning, he is sort of a humanitarian at heart (even though his rage stifles that sometimes - revenge is a hard thing for him not to want) so he greatly enjoys the atmosphere of college campuses too. When he went, even though he was still mostly shunned for being neurotic and strange, people were nicer to him than normal. In the classroom he felt at home - he's sort of a genius and other students had a hard time keeping up with him. His professors pushed him to pursue a more advanced degree but he couldn't afford it (and the arkham programs for getting the cash he needed were lacking, to say the least).

He's trans and on the spectrum.

He's a true crime nerd. He likes to read books on it more than watch podcasts or docs - he finds that reading about cases is more informative and less exploitative (as much as he maintains you should care about the victims more than the killers, it is kind of just talk. He has a huge fixation with murder. ) This mf is an encyclopedia when it comes to the zodiac killer - has he spent months trying to solve the ciphers? Yes.

GRAVITY FALLS GUYS. He loves - LOVES gravity falls. He is a children's cartoons enjoyer.

He burned down the orphanage.

He's a cryptid mystery girly. He loves ghost hunting tv shows and he's super into random mystery junk. He has solved kryptos. He does brag about this accomplishment to his fans. He does reveal what it means to spite the CIA.

Collects something weird and small like buttons or bottle caps or stamps.

Bilingual! He can speak the King's and latin.

Loves rats. In the orphanage they were scary, they stole stockpiled food which could mean starvation, they chewed on you and gave some kids infections, they were horrible. Now that he's out and living in his own place he finds a lot of catharsis in taming them and befriending them.

In my universe he was in a mook adjacent band that broke up because he couldn't work well with the other bandmates.

He did NOT FLOOD THE CITY. I feel like in the movie this was completely off the wall, imu he doesnt ever make a plan to flood the whole city. What he does imu for the finale is a surprise >:].

it's my headcanon that edward nashton smells like fresh warm laundry and a little bit like clean sawdust (bc of the rats).

i think this bc dano has said that this dude is METICULOUS about not leaving behind DNA or any sort of thing that would trace his crimes back to him. like he shaves his ENTIRE body other than his head and face. So I just imagine him as always keeping himself and his clothes really really clean, especially when he's working because you don't want to leave any fingerprints or hair or body (grease?) on any of the traps or cards he leaves around.

Edward makes you a playlist - music headcanons! (gn!reader)

a/n: decided to continue with my ___ makes you a playlist series and decided on Eddie! ... so here's what Edward would put on a playlist for you and why <3

It was pretty late at night when you heard your phone chime, the screen lit up bright with the incoming notification, illuminating a small area of your dark, night-stricken bedroom. With a small yawn, you reached out and grabbed your phone to check the notification. A small grin appeared on your face as you read the contact name that lit up your screen: 'Eddie <3'.

You had only been dating Edward for a few months now, but you swear he's already made you the happiest person alive. You eagerly open the message, excited to see what your boyfriend had sent you. As your messages opened you were greeted with a link and a simple text that read: "made this for you, just a couple songs i wanted to share. i hope you'll give it a listen 💚"

You quickly realized the link was for a playlist he had made, and you promptly clicked it, feeling your heart swell a little at the thought of Edward taking time out of the day to carefully craft this playlist for you. You felt your cheeks flush slightly and you smiled uncontrollably as the link opened.

Here's what is on the playlist:

Track #1: Creep- Radiohead: this one seems cliche as hell because it is. I mean Edward essentially embodies this song, (sorry Eddie). But this song is for sure how he feels about you. He thinks you're special, but he's really insecure about himself :( sometimes he has no clue why you're with him.

Track #2: Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)- Deftones: This song is a lot more lighthearted than the previous one. This song, essentially being about going on a trip with people you love and forgetting all your worries is sort of how Eddie feels about you. You make him forget about all of his worries and, honestly, he'd love nothing more than to run away from Gotham with you, but he understands he has obligations here.

Track #3: Ever (Foreign Flag)- Team Sleep: Safe to say, Edward is definitely in absolute awe of you, so this song is on the playlist to exemplify that. Even in the short while that the two of you have been together, Edward looks up to you a lot, just in general, the thinks you're literally the most amazing person ever, and he feels the lyrics of this song show that.

Track #4: I Wanna be Adored- The Stone Roses: The title of this one makes it evident. In all his life, Edward has never been adored by anyone, until you. For so long he's yearned for someone to just give him a second glance and literally no one has, and so, throughout his life, this song has been really relatable to him. Luckily, he's found you, and you admire him so so so much. But sometimes, it's hard for him to believe it after being kicked to the side for years upon years.

Track #5: A Sad Cartoon- Loathe: The two of you have only been together for a short while, so chances are you definitely don't know about Eddie being the Riddler, or even too much about his past aside from the basics of him being an orphan. Edward wants nothing more than to let you know about this part of him, but he's mortified that he'll scare you off. So, this song is his subtle hint that there might be a little something more to him.

Track #6: A Messenger Bird's Song- Bright Eyes: Being so early into the relationship, Eddie is still pretty insecure about things. He's never really done this before and he worries that he's annoying you, or he's too overbearing. Despite your absolute utter adoration for him, Edward is still worried you'll get sick of him and leave, this song is a bit of an expression of this insecurity.

Track #7: No One's Gonna Love You- Band of Horses: Edward is a little unsure of when the proper time to say "I love you" in a relationship is, but he pretty knew he loved you from the moment you laid eyes on each other. Actually, at this point, he is seriously in love with you, he's absolutely positive about it. He's never felt this way about anyone in his entire life, the way you make him feel is everything. You simply being around him makes him feel complete and whole, he feels like a real person for the first time in his life. He'd do literally anything for you, and this song is just a small expression of how he feels about you.

Track #8: Desert Song- My Chemical Romance: This song, Edward just thinks is really beautiful. It's not insanely polished, it's rough around the edges while still being soft and melodic and it instills a lot of emotions in him. (I'd assume he's probably unaware about the circumstances this song was written and recorded under, he doesn't seem like the type to be deep into the lore of my chemical romance lmao) But he just knows this song makes him feel a lot of emotions, and he wants to share it with you too.

Track #9: Apollo 13- The Tears: Edward's entire life he's essentially been made to feel like he's less than. And most of the time he still does, so, he feels a lot like the person this song was addressed to, feeling like he "doesn't belong", especially with you, He finds that he thinks that you're too perfect for him (even though you obviously don't feel that way, you believe he deserves the absolute world) But, despite feeling this way, he'd again, do anything for you, he'd follow you to the ends of the Earth, his love for you is literally limitless, this song totally embodies that.

Track #10: When the Sun Hits- Slowdive: Another actual love song to close out this playlist. Eddie added this song to embody just what sort of light he sees you in, you are the picture of perfection to him. It honestly scares him a little how perfect you are, he's genuinely in absolute awe of you. You're everything to him, you're his star <33

Edward Nashton Headcanons

This is extremely self-indulgent because I have Eddie brainrot, but I thought it would work as my first post! I would love to do more of these (hell Eddie takes up half of my brain I think of something new every day) so I will be sure to post more! I would love to do relationship hc’s in the future and some for other characters <3

- This man would spend ¾ of the time he spends in his apartment in hoodies. He prefers pullovers but kinda likes the way zip ups slip off of his shoulders 

- ^ In addition to this, I feel like he would spend the other ¼ of his life just chilling topless, he hasn’t got anyone around to tell him otherwise so why not? He especially likes the freedom that comes with it after being in the orphanage. 

- He's a pillow hugger, whether this be while he’s sat on the sofa or in bed, he likes the comfort that it brings him (this spreads to the fact that with a s/o he would cling to them constantly.)

- Carries around a ‘pocket puzzle’ book with him 24/7 to do on the subway home or on his breaks at work (once thought about subscribing to a monthly puzzle subscription before deciding they would be too easy for him). 

- All of his cameras/devices are covered with either a webcam cover or just a blanket - he knows the dangers with these things and is not prepared to take ANY risks. 

- He always walks past flower shops near his apartment and will sometimes buy himself the odd bouquet, or maybe just a couple flowers. He tries to go for very ‘green’ colours

- ^ he also wants to be able to keep houseplants but he knows he would kill them so he has a small plastic succulent and a single cactus instead - he’s doing well with it so far

- Lactose intolerant. He finds it’s not too bad but that may just be because he’s never really tried to stop so he just kinda,,, deals with it.

- Has a weird aversion to the smell of fried food, or just oily foods cooking in general. Loves the taste, but he finds he can only get takeaways cos he can’t sit there with the smell.

- He tries his best to stay as fresh as he can and showers most days, but he sweats so much that in under an hour he already needs another shower

- ^ has tried almost every brand of deodorant to combat this and now uses an ‘extra strong’ antiperspirant and then a second, nicer smelling one, over the top.

- ^ Although he does try to stay as clean as he can (mostly for himself) he finds that he can get so invested in work that he just, forgets? He only realizes after like three days when he coughs and realizes, ‘oh shit, I should clean my teeth’

- He doesn’t drink black coffee, he finds it too bitter (“It’s an acquired taste” he tells himself) - he loves cappuccinos and lattes and his guilty pleasure is how much he really really loves a vanilla and hazelnut syrup mix. 

- ^ Treats himself to this ‘sweet’ coffee each Friday after work, it's one of his ways of rewarding himself.

- He loves looking at ‘his’ subreddit, seeing all his fans (and a few haters) either try to figure out who he is or just gush to each other about his newest traps. He gets really giggly when he thinks about how hard these idiots must be trying to track him down.

- He has rosacea and blushes super easily, he gets really self conscious about it at work until one of his coworkers called it ‘cute’ in passing (he didn’t stop thinking about it for weeks)

- He's actually really good with kids and absolutely loves babies. Even though he’s pretty socially anxious, if he’s walking through a park and sees a baby he will not hesitate to approach and ask to say hello. 

- ^ spent a lot of time with the babies in the orphanage as it was relatively quiet in there with them compared to everywhere else.

- Constantly has headphones in. At work and at home he uses these noise canceling headphones that he bought himself for Christmas one year. They fit perfectly over his ears and sometimes he just reminds himself how good of a purchase they actually were.

- ^ When he’s out and about though, be it shopping, walking through Gotham or just sitting in the diner, he uses these shitty earbuds he bought at a dollar store. He feels safer to be able to hear what’s happening around him in public.  

- He doesn’t really feel the need to drink alcohol that often but when he does he prefers fruity drinks, loves a good mojito or passion fruit martini and will occasionally treat himself to a strawberry daiquiri. 

- ^ When he does get drunk he gets giggly real quick. Goes red as can be as soon as his lips touch that glass. He prides himself on the fact that he doesn’t get hangovers (but really he’s just never actually drunk enough to even get to that point).

- Always doodles on napkins, wherever he goes. He’s slowly realized that he’s getting quite good at sketching portraits. 

- Will start laughing randomly at a joke he thought of like a week ago and wont stop this intermittent laughing for hours. 

- Realizes one day that he’s never really thought about his sexuality and just comes to the conclusion that he really doesn’t care. He spends the next couple days just admiring everyone he sees on his commute.

- Got a gym membership but can’t figure out how to cancel it. He tried asking the lady at the desk once to help him but she put up a fight so he just backed down. Now guilt trips himself to go once a week even if he just goes on the treadmill and takes a shower. 

- He moves around a lot when he sleeps, really spreads himself out. Will sometimes wake up with all sheets and pillows off the bed and his head at the bottom and he just looks around for a bit like, what the actual fuck?

- Both of his eyes have very different prescriptions, his left is like +5 while his right is like +7.5

- ^ Has always wanted to try contact lenses but can't fathom the idea of putting his fingers near his eyes, it just creeps him out too much. 

-  He can’t figure out why he doesn’t grow facial hair, however he slowly grows to appreciate that fact when he overhears guys at work talking about ‘ingrown hairs’ and shaving and thinks, yeah, not for me.

- Snorts when he laughs (because I say so, snorts ftw) 

- He doesn’t label himself as a vegetarian, but he hasn’t eaten meat for most of his life, maybe the odd thing to try if he goes out for a meal after work but otherwise doesn’t eat meat, he finds the texture ‘funny’. 

- Loves watching nature documentaries and has at least 7 books about ‘how to be eco friendly’ on his nightstand, he's a soft guy at heart.

- Always forgets to clip his nails, he just doesn’t deem it as necessary. He’ll see that they’re getting too long once every month and will chew them off.

- If he’s walking home at night and sees a girl alone he will cross the road to make them feel more comfortable, though after he crosses he starts panicking thinking ‘what if that looks even weirder’ or ‘they’re gonna call the police oh my god-’

- Doesn’t really like fizzy drinks. He never got them growing up in the orphanage and he doesn’t like the way his eyes water when he swallows too much at once. 

- ^ Absolutely LOVES ice tea though, has tried almost every flavor and has decided that peach is his favorite 

- Secretly loves romcoms. If there's ever one on TV he will watch it like a baby watching cocomelon. That night when he finally goes to sleep he plays through all the scenarios in the film.

- ^ Although he’s not overly interested in the idea of being in a relationship, sometimes he lets himself think about the domestic side of things while he’s doing chores, (‘what if there was someone cooking with me?’ sitting on the sofa with someone) gets all soppy for the rest of the week and it’s all he can think about. 

- Never uses the main light source in his apartment, only lamps.

- ^ It has to be warm lighting.

these days he comes off as a guy who couldnt be bothered to help you create a childish game... buy hey, he loves you and isnt that what he technically does all day anyways? you just have to add in the possibility of actually dying to his games

he ends up helping you in his free time ❤

how could he resist? his darling needs his help coding and coding is his second language!

he acts very "put out" with you at first. throwing in the occasional insult because thats just how he talks when hes trying to explain something to someone

he is proud though! never will you ever hear him say it but he truly is. maybe you and he could incorporate some of his malware for the good people of gotham...

Dano!Riddler:

helping you with your game is his second job now! even if hes not getting paid

its no secret that this riddler would be a giant simp, so anything you ask of him, he will deliver 😍

in between his job as a forensics accountant and also being the riddler, he will always find time to check in on your progress. do you need help? do you need him to check your code? do you want something to drink? okay! hell just be over your shoulder if you need anything 😊

he will patiently explain to you how to do something the best he can. computers are really just a second nature to him, so having to explain it isnt exactly a familiar thing to him. bear with him!

he will be the first one to play your game!

no matter how easy your game is to him, he sees it as his obligation to support you in any way he can. whether your game is for a phone, pc or whatever, hes keeping it on his device forever

he would give you lots of praise and he also makes sure you know how amazing he thinks you are
