people always talk about how symbolic red giving chloe the shoes is, but i would argue chloe breaking the shoes in the first place is WAY more significant?
because. look. red has probably heard the story of cinderella and prince charming at that point. but she doesn't think about it the same way that chloe does, it's not her parent's story after all. she might realize the importance of those shoes past just "they were a gift from her possibly-dead mom" later but she probably isn't thinking about it in the moment
chloe, on the other hand? she looked at those shoes and thought about it before throwing them at those owls. I know that girl was thinking "am I really going to give up my chance at a love story for this girl? Am I having my fairytale just like my parents, right here right now?"
and ultimately her answer was yes. and then later she says "it was time to lose the glass shoes." to me personally that means. "this is my fairytale. you, red, are my fairytale." because maybe she would have broken those shoes to save some random person's life. but it wouldn't have been time to lose them then, it would have been a necessary sacrifice. chloe lost her glass slippers and she doesn't regret it because this is her goddamned fairytale.
tldr: chloe is in love with red and i am normal about that

What the fuck is up with Hook
Why is he at some random prep school? He’s already got the hook hand, so Peter Pan has already cut it off meaning he’s been to Neverland, also he says he’s a captain so like why the fuck are you here
I hate this movie so fucking much, nothing about it makes sense to me, why is Hades a teenager, why did they make some fankid of a Sofia the first villain instead of using one of the many Disney Villains that exist, why is Maleficent a lackey, why am I devoting so much of my time to try and make sense of this movie

Morgie is the second parent of the Hook children. (A theory brought to you by someone who is thinking abt this maybe too much)
I know this sounds crazy, In fact this is one of those theories that sound hella crazy at first; but please try to read through this one!
Tumblr media
I will start superficial: He shares physical and behavioral traits with his youngest daughter!
Tumblr media
Harriet and Harry clearly have Hook’s traits and that is shown by the way they’re described. both Harriet and Harry look a lot like Hook, anyone can see that. Both are mean-spirited (kind of), and kind of sadistic per say, they won’t think twice about it if they have to kill someone, just like Hook.
CJ, on the other hand does not share this characteristics! She does not have Hook’s black hair, She has this blond-almost-brown hair color that she shares with -gasp- Morgie! Her eyes also are more of a light brown, the worst she can do is hold someone hostage (That is being kind in Isle of the lost, alright?) and threaten. We saw that in Wicked world, she didn’t want any world-dominating power, she helped Zevon in his attempt to take over Auradon only because she wanted a boat, not because she wanted to take revenge or power like Zevon did.
Morgie seems to have this characteristics despite being in Uliana’s crew. As he is the one willing to follow orders, the one who tried to help her while she was transforming, he seems to be the ‘kindest’ or non serious out of the fabulous five. Perhaps he is not the most merciful person (“Yeah let’s burn her to a crisp!”) but it’s a start!
This could be a coincidence but, keep on reading!
This specific paragraph
Tumblr media
“Most of the time he just barely seemed to tolerate CJ”
Maybe this is a little bit of a reach but, Notice that the paragraph only mentions CJ? The one who looks the most like Morgie?
After a loss, it is common on grieving parents to have a preference on the child who looks the most like the lost spouse, sometimes neglecting the child’s siblings. This could be the case of Hook and his children.
“Maybe Hook only tolerates her because it’s his daughter?”
Yeah but in that case the paragraph would include literally anything else. Like “He just barely seemed to tolerate his children” not just specifically CJ.
“Maybe Harriet and Harry didn’t exist when that was written.” Harry maybe, but when CJ’s book released the D1 novelization (Harriet’s debut) had already came out a year before CJ’s book, so yeah.
Tumblr media
Morgie’s relationship with Hook. (And miscellaneous)
I will be honest. I’m not the biggest fan of serpenthook, It’s just not my thing but he does seem to have something with him. They’re always together, they’re always close to each other in Morgie’s 2:40 minutes of screentime, there *could* be something.
“Disney would never show a gay relationship in their movies!!!” -Coughs and points at Lumity and Willow’s dads in the owl house-
I mean I do doubt this will be canon but. Eh, let it be, for the sake of funsies!
“How did those two have children, then?”
Valid question! But like. We live in a world where magic exists. there are mer/octopeople, fairies, a God decided to have a daughter with a sorceress and then spawned another child of his own randomly.
Yzma is OLD. OLD OLD. She is one second away from being a mummy and somehow she had Zevon and Yzla😭 If Chad is the son of Cinderella and Charming and Chloe’s brother then Morgie can be the other dad of the Hook siblings. So we can just shove biology under the rug for this one. Nonetheless if this doesn’t buy you, we can say that Morgie used magic to shapeshift or that he’s trans or so.
Tumblr media
We know coincidences are unfortunately very common in the Descendants universe but this seems too weird and specific to be just a coincidence. It feels off.
Why would you throw this guy who is not related to any of the original VK’s for no reason into the movie? We could’ve had Facilier, Gaston, the evil queen or Jafar instead of Morgie.
Why would you introduce him if it isn’t to fill a hole later? Why is he the only one with no blood relation to the Villain Kids?
It makes more sense if he was the other parent of the Hook siblings, as that little hole would be filled.
Where in the world is Morgie Le fay? (And other conclusions)
We really don’t have an answer to that. Maybe his mother’s magic managed to shield him from the magic wand and now he’s hiding, maybe he died in the isle of the lost as it is really hostile there, he isn’t in the list of those who deserve respect. Anything could’ve happened to him.
But more likely, instead of bailing Hook three children after, he is most likely dead or missing unfortunately.
I honestly don’t expect a big reveal out of this not only because the theory is kinda far from being canon, but because the Hook’s are not main characters. They’re not Mal and there won’t be a song about the reveal like they did with Mal and Hades. Maybe it will be just a dialogue or a picture on a frame in Harry’s room.
We should wait and see until the ROR novelization comes out to get more information about him and come to even more crazy conclusions I think, this is just a piece of my thoughts.
I’m okay with most theories and headcanons who try to explain who is the parent of the Hook siblings, I just did this because it made a little sense and the theory reminded me to the ‘Raven is Ruby’s true dad’ theory from the rwby fandom (check it out!!) and because I am so looking for the other parent of those children. I hope this guides whoever needs a bit of an answer, even if the answer is crazy.
Thanks for reading through this madness ^^! Hope you get my point of view uu

Shockingly underrated thing about Leo is that he’s legitimately charming when he wants to be?
He’s the Faceman! He’s persuasive! That’s not just some random title he gave himself with no backing to it. People will listen to him. Even if they think he’s being annoying or if they’re upset at him, people listen to him anyway! There’s a reason his bros push him out front to talk to people, and when this happens, that talking nearly always works.
Moreover, Leo knows people. He looks at them and takes into account how they act and what they’re like as he makes his way through the conversations. It’s easy to forget this aspect of Leo’s character because he only brings it out when he really needs (read: wants) to, but it really is a notable part of him that always love to see.
And I say charm in particular because he has a knack for not only getting people to pay attention, but for getting people to stay and listen to what he has to say.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt leo#rise leo#I feel like people equate Leo to a lot of loud gross boy behavior instead of looking at his actual accomplishments#which fair enough#he IS a loud gross boy a lot of the time#but his charisma really deserves a mention for how much it comes in clutch#that one cut animatic of the other people in the resistance wanting Leo to join them for karaoke like#and yes those inspiring speeches he gives his fam are also an example of charm#bro has! charisma! he can have his loser moments and at the same time show off how to manipulate through words#Leo knows people and if he really wants to he can talk them up#but yeah like - I see people calling him the face man a lot but not so much taking into account what that entails#he’s got a pretty face! and he’ll do the talking a lot! but that’s not all a face man is#another thing that is SHOCKINGLY underrated in fandom is Raph loving fighting???#I have no idea why but I feel like I don’t see this mentioned enough#he adores wrestling and roughhousing and training and just FIGHTING in general plz let my boy punch something#I have more I wanna say but it’ll have to wait until later it is very late haaa#anyway my main point behind this post is that Leo knows people and in turn knows what they WANT#it is this same perception that makes him REALLY GOOD at getting under people’s skin too#people skills and adaptability really make sense when you take into account the fact that he’s a red eared slider#it really is cool to see how much this part of Leo is addressed throughout the series#nearly always in very lowkey ways

the people who think wonderland is always super accepting of gay people are WRONG sorry. queen of hearts had a SEVERE gay situationship breakup when she was sixteen and you NEVER recover from those. she resents her heartbreak and outlawed homosexuality in wonderland bc she is a tyrant.
this, however, did NOT make red homophobic because she hated her mother and everything she stood for. so she decided she was queer out of spite (she did actually turn out to like women, but it was spite first) and LOVES gay people

So wait, next to Alice In Wonderland's events being put into question by Red and Chloe changing Queen of Hearts past, what the fuck is going on with what tales has happened and has yet to happen back in Merlin Academy days??? Ella sings about Robin Hood stealing from the poor to give to the rich, so he's known and his tale has clearly happened. Arthur maybe has unless this is Merlin before Arthur??? I can't use age for basis given how any old characters in Disney films have been basically made younger in Descendants (see: Fairy Godmother). Tangled HAS to have happened before Merlin Academy because like??? How else is Rapunzel not only out of the tower she'd been kidnapped too and raised in but also at least got shorter hair then the hair she had with magic??? If this is before Tangled, imma call bullshit. Has Jafar already done his shit in terms of the story of Aladdin and that's how he and Jasmine are allowed to attend the school and date each other??? Granted, it puts how old he is in comparison to his fellow villains into question, but like, its either assume that or realize next to Tangled, setting it before Aladdin destroys the plot basically. Has Little Mermaid happened yet or is Ursula just known for being a former bad student of the school??? Like??? I know asking these type of questions is gonna get no answers because it's very clear this film only used the first ideas they could come up with, but like, the way none of it is making any sense the more and more time goes on.

Thinking about the fact that sevro is a carvers creation too.
“We went to a carver to see if we couldn’t make ourselves some magic. We did.”
Sevro, just like Darrow, is created in a lab, but their purposes are completely different. Darrow is created as a machine of war, his whole purpose after being saved by the sons of ares is to infiltrate and tear down the gold machine. He can’t separate himself from this war, because his purpose is not yet fulfilled.
Sevro, on the other hand, is created out of the love his parents have for each other. And when his mother is killed his father starts this revolution, and he does it in big part for him. It’s no coincidence that the organization fitchner starts is called the sons of ares. In sevros life, the war hasn’t just been about tearing down the society, it’s about the possibility of what comes after. The possibility is own birth represents.
I think iron gold and dark age really highlight the differences between their individual philosophies. You can see it in the fact mustang says she’d like to retire with Darrow and their children, plural, despite the fact that in ten years they’ve only got the one (who certainly wasn’t planned). Meanwhile sevro and victra have had three and another on the way in that intervening time. You can see it in the way Darrow continually struggles to pull himself away from the war, while sevro is able to compartmentalize and prioritize his family when he’s home. You can see it in the sevros palace chapter in dark age, when Darrow says sevro “didn’t close his mind to his family before battle, because he knew they did not make him weaker, they made him stronger than he was by himself.”
Darrow can’t start living life for himself until his purpose is fulfilled, while sevros purpose has always been that very life, so he finds a way to fit it in.
So in the end, it’s not surprising that when it comes down to it, Darrow chooses his army and sevro chooses his family. It’s not about one of them being right and one of them being wrong. It’s about what they were created for.

I've been thinking about Descendants 4 again today and, having had more time to think about it, it's even more disappointing than I initially felt it was. Because it actually has all the ingredients to be my favorite of the four.
-Brandy coming back as Cinderella (along with her prince) is an inspired move (as a Black girl and theater kid in spirit, I obviously loved her as a kid). -I also love a Cinderella focus in general because she's one of my favorite princesses--in Disney and in general. My MFA thesis project is literally a Cinderella retelling. -I love a focus on platonic relationships and an interesting mother-daughter dynamic is one of my faves. -Likewise, as cliche is it is, I love two characters with almost violently opposite vibes being forced to work together and getting close along the way.
This movie has all these things that I love which makes it extra disappointing that the movie seems uninterested in basic tenets of storytelling.
The two main relationship rifts in this movie are between Cinderella and the Queen and Red and her Queen and neither of those relationships grow or develop in a way we can get invested in. They're just fixed by stealing a book. The Red Queen doesn't learn to be a better person. They just erase one bad thing that happened to her and it's all fine now I guess? Ella doesn't reconcile with her friend. Whatever caused their rift (which we never see or even are told about in any detail) is just poofed from the timeline. There's no emotional climax. There's no real action climax. Every time it seemed like something interesting was going to happen or be revealed, they hard pivoted to something else. The connective tissue in the movie is super weak and the foreshadowing leads to very little if anything.
I've really never seen a movie so bizarrely unfocused and disjointed. It has real first draft vibes.

Okay, so, I don't think the catalyst for Bridget turning flat out evil was the prank. I think that was just the first of many domino's- that was what broke Ella and Bridget's friendship, without which Bridget gradually fell in with the villain crowd (because Uliana clearly has an interest in the Wonderful things Bridget can get her hands on...) and from there made worse and worse decisions until she became the tyrant of modern day.
I doubt we're gonna get anything to contradict this either way, so...
