best ending: they talk it out after lewis wins his 8th wdc and we end up with brocedes in each other's lives again. lewis shows up on nico's yt channel. nico is on lewis' insta. vivian dogwalks both of them for letting the divorce last that long. i join the convent because this is clearly a miracle from god and reblog gifsets of brocedes interacting from the chapel. rinse, repeat.

ending we're most likely gonna get: whatever the hell we have now. nico talks about lewis. lewis will say karting is the best time of his career. for two seconds out of the year, lewis will say nico's name. i will sob, rinse, repeat.

worst ending: they shut the fuck up about each other forever. they process the divorce and move on with their lives without each other. i will go on tumblr and reblog angsty web weaves about their relationship and what could've been. i take psychic damage. rinse. repeat.

I personally have always felt that, on Jason's end, the rivalry he bad with Percy was done to like meet the expectation of his role S a son of Jupiter. He doesn't even know how to have a genuine rivalry because he's all in his head.

i understand how it comes across that way. honestly, that's probably how rick wrote it. "well these two are kids of the big three, gotta put some tension there."

he clearly didn't think about percy and jason as three-dimensional characters that could have a rivalry grow naturally between them. he thought a rivalry would just be a flat plot point and made something up.

the rivalry should have been jason trying to fill percy's shoes at CHB for months, and still falling short because he's not thinking of percy as a person who can't be replaced rather than just an empty leadership role that needs to be filled.

the rivalry should have been jason learning that percy became praetor after spending less than a week total at CJ—he was literally on a quest 90% of the time. no matter how much he helped in the battle at the end of the book, jason wouldn't think he'd truly earned his position. earning a praetorship, jason would think, takes years of work, not a week.

the rivalry should have been percy remembering how bitter he really is towards the gods as he recovers his memory, percy realizing that CJ deadass has an entire child army, fully sanctioned by the adults in new rome, and realizing that those adults are just as bad as, if not worse than, gods who would send children on life-threatening, world-saving quests, and the only person he can really take that repressed anger and bitterness out on is jason.

the rivalry should have been jason hearing how flippant percy is when talking about these deities that they're meant to worship, how much he insults them and how impertinent he can be without consequence, and he simultaneously envies how much percy's able to get away with and hates how disrespectful he is.

we should have seen roman leader jason, groomed from his toddler years by the legion and lupa herself, who leads a structured, militaristic camp that prioritizes the safety of the many over the safety of the few, bashing heads with greek leader percy, who went from being an outcast to growing into leadership because he wanted to save as many people as he could.

we should have seen jason's envy of the fact that percy had a mother. we should have seen jason's jealousy over how much percy's father loves and values him. we should have seen jason's heartbreak that this self-important, standoffish, disrespectful jerk has the brotherly relationship with thalia that jason's desperate to have.

we should have seen so much more of these two characters that made them seem less like legendary heroes and more like the traumatized teenagers they are.

Ok my theory post for the ending of fhjy is that aguefort and ayda come back and that despite the high possibility of the rat grinders dying, the daddy-daughter duo fix the time quangle and somehow that reverses the rat grinders death bc time magic and the two groups become friends through (or despite idk what word to use here) the awful manipulation that porter and jace put them through and they work through their differences and ITS FINEEEE

Bc i do think the rat grinders dying is kinda inevitable i do highkey think porter might use them as sacrifices to fuel him but idk. Either way im kinda hoping for like some revivifies or spare the dyings or maybe even reincarnates (thats a bit more tricky imo) bc the rat grinders deserve like. Therapy and rehabilitation and stuff.

OKAY IM FINALLY GETTING TO THIS ASK.

Gordon and Spencer are worsties. They're best friends, they're bitter rivals, they're mortal enemies. They'd both die for each other and they'd kill each other.

Gordon is the only member of his family that Spencer is actually close to. Gordon is the only one who knows how to tell when Spencer is upset. Since they both use the same horrible ways of coping with emotions. (Aka the gresly patented emotional repression) and Gordon is the only one who's harsh enough to get through Spencer's thick skull and emotional walls.

Spencer struggles with having a place to belong and to have people actually like him. Cause all the mainline engines shit talk Sodor so damn much and Spencer feels like he has to conform to that way of living in order to be appreciated. And because of this he acts so much like an asshole on Sodor which makes the engines on Sodor dislike him and its a mess.

Anyways there's a story where Spencer gets a family hug and you bet your ass Gordon gives his little cousin the biggest hug ever. "You're family. You always have been, idiot." Spencer is always welcome on sodor fuck the asshole mainland engines.

just random thoughts that i’m writing but sometimes i wonder if the daipa writers hit a wall or reached a point of non return by making nozomi win the grand festival thus making her a top coordinator and perhaps putting a halt in the rivalry between her and hikari

these are just musings about the nozohika rivalry and me wondering what nozomi has been up to ever since dp ended 

i understand why nzhk rivalry was written the way it was, nozomi being a kind of stand in for hikari’s mom (she is a prodigy, takes on a mentor approach with hikari, she even has the cat pokemon whose name i forgot like hikari’s mom), hikari’s development being about growing out of her goal and the pressure she put on herself because of her legacy since her perfectionism held her down so she had to learn to be relaxed, learn that losing is okay, etc etc. so hikari never winning against nozomi was part of that and they probably wanted to make the finals be about two characters we’re invested in, rather than having nozomi win against some random or another side character. 

the thing is, i’m wondering if the nozohika rivalry still had grounds to grow further post canon, since hikari never caught up to nozomi once and nozomi already being a top coordinator kind of feels like she is in a unreachable place, plus again hikari’s development isn’t about becoming a top coordinator per se (again, i understand why things are written the way they are but when i compare to snst or even shhr rivalries, the latters seem much more equal, haruka eventually caught up to shuu and we got to see how the ag rivals were doing during the mikuri cup in dp, plus we knew they intended to keep challenging each other in johto)

i guess it’s because we don’t know much about the kind of roles there could be in contests, i guess a top coordinator can eventually become a judge during contests?? but even there, it feels onesided in terms of making a rivalry out of that if the nzhk rivalry had to go further. 

also, i’m realizing that if nozomi takes a route of mentoring new coordinators by being a contest judge, it would parallel shinji becoming a gym leader lol (the snst and nzhk rivalries have interesting contrasts, after all).

i guess i’m just really curious about nozomi post dp. we never got news on her after all. i wonder if she is a prodigy that hit the jackpot too fast by becoming a top coordinator so young, and after her very first grand festival (i think she never competed in a grand festival before the one in sinnoh). she kind of reminds me of dande, in that way (he felt like he had no room to grow further and was scared because of it).  

what else could she do now? of course she can keep competing contests, but i wonder if she can find a rival that keeps challenging her. plus her already being a top coordinator means she has the upper hand in a way if her opponent is still beginning (her rivalry with hikari started with her already having a ribbon for example, so she was already a step ahead and kept being a step ahead until the very end, on the other hand shinji and satoshi started on an equal footing). 

anyway, i had to check nozomi and hikari’s last interaction in dp and i think they just say goodbye to each other and there wasn’t a promise to see each other in a contest again (i think). nozomi said she was going to kissaki city because suzuna wanted to throw a party to congratulate her for becoming a top coordinator and she asked hikari if she wanted to come. hikari refused because she wants to support satoshi for his last gym battle and for the league. and that’s how it ends, and in retrospect, it’s kind of sad :( i don’t really get “hints for the future” from their last interaction. in comparison with shinji and satoshi (and again, i know they are different dynamics and i’m not pitting one against the other etc etc), dp ended with a big hint for their future which was unlike anything else we’ve gotten at the time tbh. shirona talking about how they’ll climb up the ranks of the champion league, which is eventually what happened with shinji helping satoshi for the m8 etc, and satoshi promised to battle each other again. even in their reunion, i still got “hints for the future” vibes from the whole setting since the writers always keep their possibilities very open (satoshi could always challenge shinji’s gym in the future and get his badge, they promised to battle each other again, we know shinji is always welcome in masara town since ookido hakase told him so, so even outside battles, there is potential for many things). so the possibilities are endless there (good for me, and good for them!).

just a bit sad for nozomi. i don’t doubt that her and hikari are keeping in touch with each other, but i just wonder how their rivalry could grow further. my imagination is kind of limited, so i don’t have many ideas for how it could turn out after dp.

You rolled your eyes as you saw Arthur's comment on yours, how could he be so childish. Forget it, you reminded yourself, today is for Ollie and Ollie only.

You waited in Ollie's driver room till he was done with the debrief, you'd go out to celebrate with him and his family later. His trainer had given him a pass on the diet, after all, scoring points in F1 was no joke.

You jumped off the chair you were lounging in, ready to hug the man as you heard the door open but to your disappointment, it was only Arthur.

You groaned as you saw the boy and he scowled in return. You never knew how your rivalry began. One moment you were visiting Ollie for the first time at Prema and the next you were in a screaming match with a Monagasuque man with the cutest accent.

"What are you doing?" He asked, rather, demanded.

"Waiting for my friend," you replied with the same annoyance in your voice, "What are you doing here?" you accused, stepping towards him.

He pulled a face, closing the gap, "Here to support my friend, you know cause we can actually stand each other,"

"Hah, sure, at least I'm not jealous of my friends, you know cause they actually make it into f1," you shrugged, knowing it was a low blow.

His face morphed into anger as he pushed closer towards you, "You need to shut up," he spoke in a low voice, you'd be scared of the taller, much stronger boy if you weren't doused in anger yourself.

"Make me then," why did you say that- Oh shit.

Your eyes widened as he kissed you, making both of you stumble back and fall on Ollie's driver room bed. You groaned as your back hit the mattress, the older boy breaking the kiss, looking down at you in concern.

"O-oh, my god! Y/n I'm so sorry, I don't know wh-" he began rambling but you couldn't let him win, could you? So you kissed him back, letting your hands run through his hair.

He led one hand to your waist, letting it fall under your shirt, he hissed at the warmth your skin radiated under his palms.

"Oh my god, OH MY GOD," Someone yelled, making Arthur push off the bed, and fall on the floor.

"Ollie this isn't what it looks like," he explained from the floor making you frown.

"It isn't?" you asked making him turn to you.

"No, it is," he explained to you, then turned to shocked Ollie in the doorway, "I mean- it is," he tried to explain.

Ollie paused for a moment, "On my bed, really?" he replied, disgust in his voice.

You picked up the pillow on his now messed up bed, throwing it at his head, "Shut up,"

He laughed as he ducked, "Hey, at least none of us had to intervene," he confessed making you and the boy who was now getting up off the floor groan in defeat.
