Dulce: Yeah, tomorrow is my first day. I’m booked and busy for weeks.

Noemí: That’s wonderful, mija. Now, have you been putting away your clothes after they’re done drying? You have the tendency to leave your clothes out.

Dulce: Yes, Ama. I’m a grown woman now.

Noemí: I needed to make sure.

Dulce: Hey, where’s Dad?

Erick: Right here listening and eating. I don’t want my waffles to get cold.

Dulce: Oh yeah, cold waffles are terrible.

Erick: Hot food needs to stay hot and cold food needs to stay cold.

Noemí: You two are so picky.

Erick: She is my daughter. Also, that pickiness is what helped her become a great chef. You can’t get all the credit here.

Noemí: That’s fair. Anywho, it’s late over there, Dulce. You should be sleeping by now.

Erick: I would say to make us proud, Bug, but you’re already ten steps ahead.

Dulce: Thanks, Dad. I love you guys.

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 114 (A Winterfest to Remember?)

The events of this post occurred leading up to and during Winterfest (Generation 2 parts 99 to 102)

As Winterfest approached, Nicola and her brother Dominic allowed themselves to reminisce about holidays with their father. The spirit of the season had begun to infect them, and their gloomy hearts were beginning to open up to the spirit of the season.

Hazel woke late and came downstairs - she'd been at the Gnome's Arms until the early hours of the morning, and Nicola wondered how she could be so chipper. "Morning!" Hazel said, but the number of good mornings between them had dwindled. "Are we all ready for Wicked Winterfest Movie Night at the pub?"

"You've been home for five hours and you already want to go back?"

Hazel shot an annoyed glance at her wife. "We've been going to Wicked Winterfest every year since high school."

"Midnight Massacre 3 is barely even a Winterfest movie."

"It takes place on Winterfest Eve!"

Nicola sighed. "I just don't feel up to it this year. Don't you want to stay in and watch something less gory? My mom said she'd bake her chocolate chip cookies."

"River, Cass, even my Dad said they'd be there tonight. It's a tradition. I have to go."

"You don't have to go."

"Well, you don't have to stay home."

Hazel left for work in a foul mood. While she and the mayor canvassed in Finchwick that afternoon, he stopped to talk with her near the village green.

"Is something wrong, Hazel? You haven't been applying yourself to the job as much lately as you did when you started."

"I like my job, Mayor Varner, but I'm not sure this is what I want to be doing. It's a lot of administration and I don't know if I'm making a difference."

The mayor smiled warmly. Taking the reins of a town like Henford was rarely a stressful job, but Mayor Varner was kind and unflappable. "Enjoy your time off over the holidays, and give your future some thought. We can talk more about it in the new year."

Hazel met her family in the upstairs den of the Gnome's Arms, where every Winterfest they played slasher flicks for those who appreciated a little subversion from the usual cozy celebrations. Her sister-in-law, Cassandra, was delightful and charming but also a little gloomy from time to time, and she loved this tradition as much as Hazel.

"Midnight Massacre 3 never gets old. It's a Winterfest classic!" she gushed, too excited to sit down.

Hazel stayed out late for another night, chatting into the early hours with fellow local horror fan, Elsa Bjerg-Watson. She lived in Old New Henford with her parents, Bjorn and Clara, her wife Maira, and their daughter Jada, but she said the family had just made room for her niece, who had moved to Henford from San Myshuno.

"Suri broke up with her girlfriend a few months ago and she needed a change of scene. My mother's the best professional baker this side of Simlandia - even she knows she'll never match Noemi Alegria in Tartosa - but Suri wants to be as good as her grandmother someday."

"If Suri's cakes are as good as Clara Bjergsen's, I'll be her best customer," said Hazel.

The next morning was Winterfest Eve, and Nicola's mom, Kim, made chocolate chip cookies. She probably missed Eddie's presence at their holiday celebrations even more than her kids, leaving the cookies on the kitchen table before heading upstairs to cry it out in her room.

Hazel joined her wife in the kitchen and made a beeline for the cookie platter. "Did you want to head over to my parents tomorrow in the morning to open presents, or did you want to open presents together here?"

"We want to open our presents on Winterfest Eve this year because Dad always liked opening them before bed."

Hazel shrugged. "Okay, great. Then tomorrow we can go over in the morning for presents with my family, too."

"We want to go for a walk to see the wildlife on Winterfest morning. Dad loved living out here for the wild foxes and bunny rabbits."

Hazel didn't mind Henford's picturesque forests, bunnies, and birds, but they could walk through Isle of Volpe Park any day of the year. "I'd really like to go over to see my family in the morning."

"You're with them all the time," she said. "Why not make time for me?"

"Nic, I'm sorry you lost your dad, but he wouldn't want you to mourn him this long. He loved you too much to see you so sad. But when I'm home you're grading papers."

"You don't know what my Dad would have wanted, Haze. And seriously, when are you home?"

"I'm home right now and we're fighting again!"

Nicola and Hazel finally heard themselves and grew quiet, but a bitterness had long ago started to fester.

Hazel spent Winterfest Eve and most of Winterfest Day with her family, not her wife. She gushed over Heather's new engagement ring, and wouldn't let her own relationship troubles dampen her excitement for her big sister.

Hazel lingered outside a while before sunset. She hoped to delay going home just a little longer, in favour of a cozy celebration with her family. Like old times. She finally turned to leave when her phone buzzed with a text from Nicola.

Come meet me by the rink. Please.

Henford's local ice rink was just across the laneway from her childhood home on Cobblebottom Street, and she met her wife next to the ice with a kiss.

"I'm sorry I've been so hard to live with lately," said Nicola with a sheepish smile. "I don't let myself get sad about my dad, but holding it in makes me angry. I know I need to talk to someone for me as much as we need to talk to someone for us. But I love you, and I want to make us work."

"I want that, too."

With the sunset providing a picture-perfect backdrop to a tense Winterfest season, Hazel and Nicola found a way to end Winterfest with a cozy celebration at the ice rink, after all.

Could their blissful moment last, and would they make time for counseling as intended? ->

River had his first birthday and was the smartest toddler in town, learning all of his toddler skills with days to spare.

Jonah befriended the leader of the pack and was turned into a werewolf! He and Celine are pretty stoked about it.

Melody befriended Enzo Porter-Conway and it was very cute.

Celine was promoted twice and unlocked the Politics career for the neighbourhood. She might also be pregnant again!

Gill-Kirby

Sophie had to change her aspiration to grilled cheese for this round's ROS! Percy and Talia were not impressed.

Sophie and Percy welcomed a baby girl, Georgia. After celebrating Georgia's first birthday, Percy decided one wasn't enough and spawned a grumpy plantbaby, Calla.

Lucas continued his on-off relationship with townie Bradley, and they went on a few tumultuous dates.

Talia started dating her longtime acquaintance Daphne Porter!

Emerald Fresh continued to be a super successful business and got an expansion/renovation.

Porter

Drew proposed to his townie girlfriend Evelyn, who accepted! They moved out together at the start of the round.

Ethan worked on unlocking the adventurer career, since his LTW is to reach the top of it. He also started dating a townie, Peter.

After a pitiful day, Daphne hired an employee for her business, Sweet Treat, and things looked up after that! She made enough money to expand the exterior and started charging for entry.

Daphne and Talia Kirby agreed to go steady. They were meant to get engaged, but my game bugged out, oops.

Enzo... was there! He and Ethan tried to train their cat, Tornado.

Porter-Moreau

Drew and Evelyn moved out together after getting engaged! It was an adjustment, since Drew has a busy work schedule and Evelyn doesn't have as much going on as she'd like.

Evelyn opened an arcade called E. X. P., and she and Drew had way too much fun working together due to the lack of customers.

They went on several dream dates for Drew's LTW, and Evelyn threw a fun house party for her friends and future family.

Hendricks

The Hendrickses moved into an apartment for the sake of Miles' bank account and Artemis' social life.

Miles had a rocky start with a new potential love interest, Kieran, but they figured it out and had a casual woohoo.

Miles wanted a roommate, so he asked his favourite townie Tyler Parrish to move in. To everyone's surprise, Tyler said yes.

Unfortunately, Tyler used his newfound screentime to ask Miles' ex-husband Percy to leave his wife. Thankfully, Percy said no.

Miles proposed to Tyler for the third time. Tyler turned him down once again and moved out at the end of the round.

...Well, at least Artemis is doing really well in school!

Arias

Noemi gave birth to her son with Drew Porter, Xavier!

Drew and his fiancée Evelyn visited and met Xavier, but it was pretty uncomfortable between Evelyn and Noemi.

Noemi threw a birthday party for Xavier and invited most of the neighbourhood. It was a chaotic time with awkwardness, arguments and a badly timed werewolf transformation.

Noemi went on a few dates with a townie, Lance, and they've mutually fallen in love. She's rolled the want to go steady, but they're both romance sims, so who knows what'll happen.

Parrish

Ex-townie and local menace Tyler was upgraded to playable status and moved into a townhouse with his dog, Pepper.

He threw a housewarming party, where he successfully played matchmaker for Miles Hendricks and townie Kieran.

Tyler opened a restaurant business, Saltlick! It's doing well so far.

He begged Percy Gill to get divorced again, to no avail...

Tyler went on a few dates with Jasper, may or may not be pregnant, and proposed. Jasper accepted and moved in!

Today's (3/11/2025) Episode: Wedding Joy

“The simoleons will come in handy, but the idea of dealing with renters makes me nervous.” Elyse said as she finished getting ready to walk down the aisle.

Noemi knew that most of her daughter-in-law-to-be’s anxiety wasn’t really about rental properties. “I’m sure it will all work out just fine dear” she smiled encouragingly, “and may I just say that you look wonderful. That dress matches Skye’s suit perfectly. You two will look fantastic on the livestream.”

The girl’s anxiety seemed only to increase at the reminder of the drones floating through the wedding chapel. Isra shot her friend an annoyed look, and Noemi tried again. “Uncle Lu filmed our entire ceremony too, so I speak from experience when I promise that once you get up there everything else will fade away and you’ll be glad later to have such a wonderful recording of the day you married the love of your life.”

“I guess.” Elyse said, the thought meeting her teddy bear at the alter prodding her forward. “Thanks for helping me get ready. Let’s get this circus started.”

“No peeking!” Noemi teased her child as she came in ahead of the others, taking Skye’s arm and turning xem firmly towards the front of the chapel.

“Thanks for helping Elyse get ready” xe said, “I know it meant a lot to her. I promise you; we’re doing good and she…”

“I know honey” xir mother placed a hand on xir arm to stop Skye’s anxious ramble. “Its obvious you’re happy together, and that’s all I ever wanted. Now let’s not keep everyone waiting… shall we?” She put on a confident smile as they started walking gracefully to the front of the large room.

She still had her concerns about Skye’s relationship, but since the evening of the Bash she’d come to the conclusion that if her baby was making a mistake, interfering would only make it worse. Xe’ll have to live and learn, just like I did she mused as she gave xem one last kiss before taking her seat and hopefully this marriage will work out better than my first one did.

Elyse and her father stepped up next. She’s gorgeous Skye thought, a wide grin breaking across xir face at the sight of xir beloved I’m the luckiest sim in the world!

Rhys glanced over with concern as his daughters’ own smile dissolved into quiet tears. “What’s wrong honey” he whispered, “Do you need a minute?”

She shook her head “I just love xem so much daddy; I’m terrified of messing up and ruining things between us all over again!”

“I can promise that you will both make mistakes.” Rhys told her “Everyone does, but you’ve already faced some pretty big storms together and here I am, walking you down the aisle. You two have been inseparable since you were toddlers; I just know you’ll figure out any difficulties that come along.”

“You really think so?” she asked with a sniffle. “I really do.” he promised, handing his gloomy girl the tissues he’d prepared for just this situation.

“I’ve had the pleasure of living with these two lovely young sims for awhile now” Candor began “The depth of their feelings for one another and their deep connection shines through in everything they do. I’ve had my fair share of relationship joy… and pain… in my long life, and I feel more than qualified to say that Elyse and Skye’s love for one another was made to go the distance. They’ve written their own vows to share, so let’s hear them!”

“Skye” she began “We’ve been best friends for as long as I can remember. I didn’t expect to fall for you, and I haven’t always made things easy…” she quickly wiped away another tear “but I promise to do my best to be worthy of you and your unwavering devotion. Thank you for being you, I love you more than words can say.”

“It's always been you” Skye began in response “Elyse, you’re the only girl for me. I can’t wait to start a family of our own and spend the rest of my life working hard to show all of you how much you mean to me. I love you too.”

“… and every time you look at this, please remember how much I adore you” Skye said as xe slipped the dainty circlet on xir best friends' finger.

“Oh Skye, you’re going to make me cry… again!” Elyse choaked out, gazing down at the ring through eyes misty with tears.

Then, finally, there was only one thing left to do “It is my great pleasure to introduce to you, for the very first time, Mx. and Mrs. Lawbourne” Candor grinned “Go on kid, kiss your bride!”

Knowing that Elyse wasn’t a big fan of public displays of affection Skye hesitated and was shocked to find xemself suddenly wrapped up in her arms.

As their family and friends surrounded them, showering them with rice for good luck, the couple shared a smile.

It had been a perfect ceremony, and they couldn’t wait to head out back and continue the celebration of their love with all the sims who brought so much joy to their life.

Capp-Shear family, Roaring Heights - World Adventures #75

The whole family stayed there until the early evening, letting themselves be engulfed in the beautiful light and view of this village before their midnight flight back to Roaring Heights.

It has been a wild and fun vacation for all of them, and their gratitude could only be described as limitless.

Noe Bodi Gameplay, Day 41 Part 2

Didn't I tell y'all we weren't done?

Blair Carter (@spurgees), Noemy Ortiz (@beebeesiims) and Adwoa Kofi (@saturngalore) were just casually standing next to Rory Oaklow in WOLF FORM. (Don't mind Noemy's stone face, she's been mentally preparing herself for the BMB2 reunion. 👀)

Townie Nalani was the only sim to run out of the club. Guess werewolves don't come to sulani often.

I guess Townie Lou Howell was smelly or something because Noemy's face looks too scrunched up for any other explanation.

And hey look! Kash Monet (@saruin), Riaan Angel (@wibblywobblytumblywumbly) and Detective Martin Davies (@starjira) are here too!

Bless their hearts, they came rather late in the game, so the sun had started rising. And as you know, when the sun rises, the club closes.

But I was able to get Noe a few more connections with the neighbors she hadn't met yet. Like Adwoa!

And these fine ass townies Wayland (@rhdweauni0) and Samuel Steed (@cinamun).

Jeremiah (@seulvgi) showed up at the last minute, so I got them to formally introduce themselves too! And right in front of Townie Jason (@rhdweauni0) just smiling vacantly.

...And then these two showed up.

Nekkid ass townies Kenji (@cinamun) and himbo Jack (@kazuaru) , with Pax Ramey (@theosconfessions) walking right past them into the now empty club without glancing once. What a legend.

I don't know why that happened. I will fix it in CAS later.

But true to form, Noe Bodi still gave them a respectful introduction.

But I think Kenji started trying to kick game to her because she noped the fuck out right after that.

At home, she stuffed herself with fruit salad to fill her hunger need...

...and promptly fell out five minutes later.

I want to thank every single simmer who has taken my sim requests and allowed me to fill this save with unique and diverse characters around my simself to interact with. You guys are the real MVP's, and are the reason I pulled myself out of the rabbit hole of CAS-Only Play and set on the road of gameplay. I'm enjoying the daily life of sims again, thanks you you all. <3
