hi again, multiple people have been asking about it so i put together some notes summing up the "HURRY GO ROUND" hide documentary (2018). it's still incomplete, some parts were very difficult for me to watch, let alone translate (such as people describing the night of his death in detail), but hopefully i'll be updating the google doc in the future! in the meantime please enjoy what i have so far and feel free to add on to this post if you'd like to help out!

so, you heard about a silly little server called lifesteal. maybe u wanna try watching it. well what if i told u that we here at lifestealblr have put together a helpful guide to help you succumb to the poisons start watching the server?? join us we are very normal

so! lifesteal! first, a summary. lifesteal is a server where when u die, you lose a heart off your permanent health bar. when you kill another player you gain a heart. heres a list to sum it up:

dying loses you a heart

killing someone else gains you a heart

losing all your hearts = dead and gone from the series, unless youre revived

you can revive dead players through gay sex crafting a special item

you can withdraw hearts from your healthbar and give them to other players

still have questions? heres a better explanation. ok moving on

lifesteal smp has FOUR seperate seasons so far!! the players are the same, give or take a few people. so, where to start?

first, you don't need to watch the seasons in order. you don't need to know anything about previous seasons to watch lifesteal. start with whatever season you want!! that being said, i'd advise starting on season three or season four (the current season) as they are the most popular.

Okay, I think the reason most u!Logan blogs were starting to stop posting is because we’ve all kind of already fully outlined everything shitty and toxic about Logan and his behavior by now. I actually started collecting all the posts that I thought were perfect outlines for how toxic he is in 2 Google Docs folders, just for my own reference, a long time ago. Now I think that the fact Thomas has done this is just exhausting everyone. I’ve suspected for a long time that Thomas was just relying on his fans’ interpretation for the series, especially after Joan gave up and left. It was just... everything.

The out-of-character sexy Logan skirt, the membership thing actually allowing paying fans to write for the series, the videos being made up entirely of Incorrect Quotes the fandom wrote, Thomas going back on his vow to never read fanfics or allow ideas from fans to influence the show by changing Logan and Patton’s canonical glasses, Thomas pretty much failing the How Well Do You Know Sanders Sides quiz— like he barely seems to know his own series, Thomas not realizing what tie he was wearing to play Logan in a Patreon skit and having to correct the theory-making fandom to say he apparently didn’t even remember it was the wrong tie. Thomas making the Patreon all about Janus and basically turning his channel into a Let’s Play Patreon-locked channel, seemingly only because Janus was popular in the fandom and he still wants to make it feel tangentially related to Sanders Sides. Thomas dropping Cartoon Therapy, the Stress to Impress, and almost all the projects he started on his Thomas Sanders and Friends Channel after a video or two, like he doesn’t actually care and is just hanging on to Sanders Sides because it seemed the most popular. And profitable. The strangely long hiatuses... is he working as hard as he keeps saying, or just saying so? He kept bragging about how the jam video was almost totally improvised and thrown together on a whim when chance struck, and he completed a script and filmed it and posted within two weeks. So does really episode production take as long as we’re told? Or does he just... not care as much anymore and just need the profit?

And now, this. I’m pretty much positive that the main reason Logan got this breakdown was because the majority of the fandom he had left wanted it. I don’t honestly think it was really a well-informed thought-out decision. We can detail everything that was wrong with it, but we kind of know already. So I think any lack of asks or complaints is simply due to exhaustion. We’re exhausted. We’re all exhausted. I’m exhausted, by this and everything else, and you don’t have to share my opinions but that’s my interpretation. I don’t think Thomas knows what he’s written that well. In all honesty. And the toxic messages it can spread. I think we just all have to live with that fact.

I already sent this to one blog, but after thinking about it my message was more vaguely aimed for fans of blogs like yours than anything, so, I’m just going to send it around.. It’s okay if you have nothing to say or anything. I just wanted to say this.

i think you make a lot of great points. I dont know if i fully agree with all of them but,,a lot of what you said makes sense to me.

when i found out this video came out, the first post i saw was someone complaining that Logan was “ignored again.” and that just made me not excited to watch. This used to be my comfort media, and now I have to force myself to care about the episodes because I want to finish the series.

and yeah. I’m tired. im tired of never knowing when episodes will actually come out, and giant gaps between episodes, and how much the creators are entrenched in the fandom. I’m just. Tired.

and The problem is I still care about some of the characters. And I met friends through the fandom and I enjoyed it before i felt it kinda went to shit.

so,,I dunno. Im waiting for a full episode to decide how I feel about the characters and where the series is going as a whole.

LMAO i did so much the past few months cfgvhbn I am gonna chill in December and January i think. i didnt take hmt so im not so familiar with how the subject is, but im sure its comparable to hcl. For all language subjects, try to read up on current affairs and take note of significant, newsworthy events which can be tied in to a certain topic. here’s an example: people pushing for the ban of the wildlife trade after the novel coronavirus outbreak. OR how NUS scientists recently discovered a way of removing plastic. collect links and information on different topics and paste them in a google docs (or somewhere convenient for you) under several topics e.g. science and tech, environment, society. make mindmaps on these topics(reasons, impacts, suggestions etc., quotes from significant figures), and notes on the specific events themselves. do so in both languages (helps paper 1 and paper 4). memorise all SW formats. rmb to think how you can USE THESE TO ARGUE LOGICALLY. because strong evidence without a logical argument is weak evidence anyway. for comprehension, really pay attention to the question and the way it’s phrased. nothing is there ‘just because’ -- every word has a reason for being there. look out for contextual clues and hidden pointers as to what a certain phrase, event, emotion, item or even character represents etc. answer in the format your teachers have taught you. (E.g. unusual + effective). 

for math, simple. listen in class, copy down example problems gone thru by the teacher and UNDERSTAND EVERY STEP. dont blindly apply formula because now the papers are set in a way we’ve never seen before. don’t be shocked by a ‘new’ question just because you spent all your time blindly applying and memorising. then, do all your work and check your answers. DO NOT COPY THE ANSWER SHEET because you’re cheating yourself. constantly do a few practice qns here and there and go for consultations the moment you realise something is wrong or you don’t understand some concept or formula. math is rly about understanding and practice lah don’t worry.

i didnt take any combined science so idk what’s included or excluded in both HAHA im sorry. but sciences i would pre-read the textbook, then go into class and actually pay attention. link what you read to what’s being taught. when you get home, watch a video on the topic to further solidify and fortify your understanding (or don’t, if it’s something as simple as cells/atomic structure). i usually do linear notes for sciences, taking notes from ppt slides, class notes and textbooks. copy down any additional info that your teacher says because it MAY come out in section C application. understand the links between certain chapters (redox and metals etc., digestive system & cells, mvmt of subs, enzymes etc.) so that you’re well prepared for novel question types. again, consult teachers if you’re not sure. do practice papers ONLY AFTER YOU UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT & REASONING BEHIND THE ANSWERS otherwise doing a 100 would still be useless. rmb the certain phrasing and keywords for certain qns bcos if you lack those you might not be awarded the full marks.

for ss+hist, memorise all your sbq formats and know how much time you can spend on sbq in order to score the maximum mark in the shortest possible amount of time. strategise your time. I always do SEQ SRQ first because i alr studied for those so i wanna regurgitate everything before i panic and forget lol so u might wanna consider that. for notes, you can do linear/mindmap form (depends what works best for you, try and experiment) but usually my class notes are mindmap form (cue mad scribbling). memorise smart - one example per point. u only need one solid example and a good explanation to ace it. ps i’ve heard oversimplified is good for history so you can check that out!

for geog (i didnt take pure geog!) i would say quickly consult teachers for fieldwork-related issues because fieldwork in geog is like practical stuff imposed onto paper which can be difficult for some people to grasp. so please do go for consults! again, notes in mindmap/linear form work pretty well! just choose what works for you. for PGeog, memorise how all the processes happen. for factors (any factors, PGeog and HGeog) same thing, memorise one solid example and rly UNDERSTAND the topic so that you can craft a good explanation (even if you forget) also watch vids if you dont get it!

ok that’s all. rmb that scoring straight As is a combination of discipline, good study habits, actually studying, studying and taking the examination ‘smartly’, and exam time management. it’s also a matter of not giving up on the goals you have for yourself! so jiayou and keep working hard!

So I was watching some old SVT videos, and realized there's probably a lot of older performances that newer Carats don't know about. But there's a lot of great stuff, so here's a handful of performance videos I watched way too many times as a Carat in 2015 (before we were called "Carats" 😂) that I don't really hear people talk about. Seventeen Project

If you haven't watched Seventeen Project, you really should! I feel like as time’s gone on, less and less new fans have seen it. There's a lot of good stuff in there, it’s an important part of the boys’ history, and back in 2015 it was the main source of SVT content lmao I could list all of their performances on the show, but I won't~ But here's a few worth noting:

Taste + Bed Breaker (TBB): Still my favorite SVT choreo tbh

No F.U.N original: So they did a challenge where they were split into random groups, and they wrote and performed songs, all of which they've gone on the rearrange and release on an album at some point. No F.U.N was the winner of the challenge for a reason; the original performance is so good! Every album, fans would be begging for No F.U.N to be on it, and then finally it was 🙏

Hello original: i still prefer this version of "Hello". I LOVE the chorus, it just flows so much nicer. I'm sad they changed it when they rearranged it for the album. I think the pacing in the second half of the rearranged chorus makes it sound choppy and unnatural. If you haven't, give this one a listen and let me know what you think!

Drift Away original: This one's good, but I think they improved it a lot for the album

OMG original: I like this one as much as the performance unit version. I like the rap parts, the choreo, and i think Jihoon's voice suits the song particularly well.

2015

Shining Diamond MV: I wasn’t gonna put this on here bc I figured everyone’s seen it, but there’s less than 3 mil views, so maybe not?

Bindaetteok Gentleman: The performance that made me want to make this list! It's a cover of an old, funny Korean song, and the boys have some real handsome looks going~

Sorry Sorry: Seventeen's always been compared to and admired Super Junior, and the number of members mean they can pull off the choreo well. (Before I was a Carat, i was an ELF, so i would get VERY excited to see Seventeen performing any SJ songs lmao)

Adore U Vocal Unit Acoustic version: If you've only heard the vocal unit version of “Adore U” that's on "Love & Letter", you are MISSING OUT. The vocal unit put out this one during Adore U era, and Josh arranged it. I got so excited when I saw it on the L&L tracklist, then disappointed it wasn't the same. It's better imo 🤷 (also they're all rocking some major Boyfriend Looks™)

Adore U Performance Unit version: Hey this one's fun lmao It’s got some awesome choreo around the Pledis building and Josh randomly popping up with his guitar

MAMA 2015: Mansae: they worked the desks into the choreo so well and yooo that part where Hoshi jumps on the desks just as they push them together gets me every time, u gotta watch it

MAMA 2015: Monsta X Collab: MONTEEN MONTEEN MONTEEN I love Monteen, and this stage is great and often forgotten about

Here's some more underrated performances that aren't from 2015, but seem to get forgotten a lot:

DOC 와 춤을: okay i used to watch this like every day ascvnk its so happy and everyone in the audience, whether they're a Carat or not, is having fun. Seventeen's always been great at covering old songs and GG songs in great and respectful ways, and this is just one of many. It’s impossible to watch it without smiling 😊💕

The Other GG Medley No One Talks About: SVT did a girl group medley on Music Core, and it’s really great, but they also did this one of some older girl group songs for Gayo Daejun in 2016 and no one talks about it but i like it a lot

The Cursed™ Sketchbook Performance: So for this appearance, fans in the audience weren't doing what they were told, and the boys suffered the consequences. So this performance gets pushed to the back of many Carats' minds. Repressed, if you will. But its a great performance! The boys put together a special stage just for the show, and despite everything, they worked hard and it deserves to be seen, and that's why i decided to add it.

Lastly, ik i said i would stick with performances, but i feel like new fans don't know this because he doesn't do it anymore. But jihoon used to dougie like all the time 😂 here's a couple vids: [x] [x]

I actually haven't been writing much lately because I have presentation finals at my school and google docs has been a little shit for the past week. BUT! This is part two of the Valentines Day arc and I'm very very very excited!!!

Virgil had had enough.

Only 24 hours after Dylan had announced he was going to ask Roman out, Virgil decided he couldn’t deal with it anymore. It seemed as if the two were together at every free moment, and every glance they gave each other made his blood boil.

During one of Dylan’s breaks, Virgil pulled his old friend into the breakdown closet, scowling at him as soon as the door was shut.

“Did you ask him out?”

“Yeah. But-” Virgil seized Dylan’s collar with his hands sharply, before dropping them and taking a step back. His breath was heavy.

“How could you? You knew about Halloween and my feelings for him and you still did it anyways! What happened to friends over everything?” Virgil nearly screamed.

He expected Dylan to be shocked, but instead, Virgil watched a smirk grow on his friend’s face. His anger dissipated into confusion.

“God, you’re dense.” He laughed. “You really think so lowly of me? Have a little faith, Virge.”

“W-what?” Virgil asked, stepping back. “What’s going on?”

“You weren’t going to ask him out, so I did. And you want to know what he said?”

“No, I don’t.” Yes, I do. Virgil thought.

“He said that while he was very flattered, he didn’t like me that way. He likes someone else.”

“B-but... Who? Did he tell you?”

Dylan stared  at Virgil blankly. “Think long and hard about that one, bud.” With that, he patted Virgil on the shoulder and stepped out, leaving Virgil alone.

It can’t be Logan, or Patton… Thomas maybe, but he mentioned going out with someone last week, so probably not… Remy’s unavailable… Virgil’s train of thought sped up. And if it’s not Dylan or Emile, then…

Oh.

Oh.

He really was dense.

After hours, Patton glanced at Logan, who had moved from his office to keep Patton company as he restocked and decorated the prize counter. Quiet music flowed from the back wall, songs from Patton’s many playlists. Logan’s brows were furrowed as he focused on something on his computer.

He’s cute when he’s focused. Patton thought, noting the way Logan had to push up his glasses every few seconds. He must have stared for a minute, maybe longer. It was a good thing Logan was so buried in his work, otherwise Patton would have turned into a stammering mess.

He tried to remember the last time he’d felt this way about someone. So completely head over heels that he couldn’t think straight. Still, he came up empty, staring down at the little boxes of consternation hearts that he was stocking under the counter.

BE MINE. I <3 U. IM URS. The little candy hearts that adorned the boxes screamed up at Patton.

It made enough sense. Patton had never been this afraid of someone leaving, not since he and Emile moved out. There was just something about Logan that made him want to squeeze tight and never let go.

Logan had been so kind, so patient, so selfless when it came to the Picanis. He gave both of them jobs, tutored Emile at least once a week, and hell, he even showed up to Thanksgiving and ate everything they’d put in front of him. Patton was sure he owed Logan over a dozen favors by now. He also knew that Logan would never hold him accountable for them.

But Logan didn’t know everything. If anything, he knew the bare minimum of what the two brothers had been through. He didn’t understand why they left.

Patton remembered the day they moved out. It still stung. The papers he had to sign were exhausting. As much as he had looked forward to getting out of the house, he couldn’t leave Emile alone with their parents. They did the bare minimum for almost everything, and they never showed up when either of the two brothers needed them most.

They hadn’t even questioned it when Patton brought them the papers. His mother even said that custody was now one less thing to worry about.  

There had been no send off; no goodbyes, no hugs, no kisses, no I-love-you’s, no be-safe’s, not even a wave. Their parents walked back into the house after everything was packed and didn’t come out after that.

When they arrived to their new home, there weren’t any texts asking if they were okay. It was complete radio silence.

The first thing the two brothers did was lie down on apartment floor, looking up at the blank tiled ceiling. “Are things going to get better now?” Emile had asked, and Patton had nearly teared up at his words.

“I hope so, kiddo.”

Even now, Patton hoped that he’d never break the promise he made that day. Things would be better. They had to be.

“You’re awfully quiet this evening.” Logan said, snapping Patton out of his head.

“I didn’t want to distract you.” Patton said with a nervous smile. “You wanna take a break and help me out?”

“Sure.”

Virgil was on his way out when he spotted Logan and Patton, working together at the prize counter. Both were in their own little world, not noticing Virgil’s heavy footsteps.

Patton was storing all the toys in the prize counter display, humming a random tune, when Logan began to assist without comment. Patton started humming an older sounding song and Logan took the other harmony without question.

As Logan placed miniature hippos in boxes, he started tapping his feet. Patton started swaying his hips slightly. They weren’t synchronized, but neither seemed to care.

At some point, Patton pulled out a toy trumpet smaller than his hand to continue the tune. Logan watched with adoration, a small, fond smile on his face. The notes Patton was playing were clearly wrong, but neither seemed to care.

By now the toys were all put away but neither Logan nor Patton left. Patton fumbled with the trumpet while Logan looked down at the glass counter, counting the candy. Soon, it became obvious to the other that neither had any work to do. Logan leaned against the counter on the wall, Patton sat on the front counter.

Their voices were quiet, too quiet for Virgil to understand what they were saying. But Patton laughed, and he caught Logan laughing as well.

A small sting of bitterness swept through his heart. That could be him and Roman, if only…

Virgil paused the recording on his phone. When they got together, he would send them the video.

Anyway onto ACTUAL IDEA STUFF HOORAY

So when Dutch and Hosea decided to adopt, they agreed they wanted to take in kids who needed good homes the most, so they were specifically looking for older kids who would probably age out of the system and wind up on the streets

They met Arthur who was a clearly depressed and gender non conforming thirteen year old who hated everyone and everything and wasn’t getting the Love he Deserved, and Dutch was like “I want THAT ONE, with the SAD EYES”

Arthur tried to push them away at first, cuz he absolutely didn’t trust anyone, and some part of him believed they’d just give him right back up for adoption if he disappointed them in any way. But he eventually learned that they were good guys who really just wanted to help him, and they weren’t gonna abandon him if he wasn’t the perfect kid they always wanted

(he probably told them about this fear eventually and Hosea just snorted and was like “if we wanted a perfect kid we woulda got a cabbage patch doll. something that wouldn’t scream or make a mess” and Dutch was like “yeah! or like a 27 year old with a job and their own house and kids of their own. pre-made grandkids” and Hosea was like “or a cat” and Arthur was like “...okay”)

Anyway it took a loooong time but Arthur eventually trusted them enough to come out to them as trans, without really knowing the proper words for everything, just knowing that He Is A Boy And That’s That. As much as Hosea is the one the lads go to to talk about stuff and get comfort and Wise Dad Advice, he probably told Dutch first bc he was more uncertain how he’d respond and he wanted to get it over with in the worst way possible.... like, if they were gonna react badly, heap all the bullshit on in one fell swoop

I imagine he did it off the cuff too, in response to something Dutch said, like Dutch was like “u get back here right now young lady” and Arthur was like “first of all I’m not a lady, I’m a BOY, and second of all FUCK you, I do what I WANT” and Dutch was like “groovy. you’re grounded.” Arthur was like (offended) “don’t say groovy... don’t try to be hip” and Dutch was like “no it’s totally tubular that ur a boy. It’s absolutely funky. You’re fucking grounded though”

Then he went and told Hosea like “congrats! it’s a boy” and they helped him transition and they didn’t tolerate a single person misgendering him the whole time. Like before he’s even begun transitioning, they’re literally at the doctors office to discuss it w/ their doc for the first time, and a nurse is like “ms. morgan?” And Dutch is like “INCORRECT” and the doctor is like “what seems to be the problem (deadname)?” and Dutch is like “FOOL! THIS CHILD WAS LABELED INACCURATELY, WE REQUIRE A GENDER RETRACTION” and Hosea’s like “please stop yelling”

Anyway probably about a year later they got John when he was ten and Arthur was fifteen. Arthur was a little bit jealous like, wow, am I not enough kid for u, but Dutch and Hosea always planned on getting at least two bc they wanted them to have siblings, and they know John came from a pretty abusive situation, so Arthur can’t be too mad at him. At least until he met John and realized what a fucking brat he is

Since John was younger and way more desperate for affection, he immediately loved Dutch and Hosea just bc they were nice to him, he was ready to call them his dads within the month but he was nervous that it was too soon and they’d be weirded out. But I imagine he got triggered by something and had a meltdown and they got to see just a glimpse of what he’d been through, and Dutch and Hosea were falling over themselves trying to comfort him and tell him they love him and now I’m making myself cry :’^(

Anyway... from that point on John was like “these are the only dads I’ve ever had and I would kill a man for them.” He gets in trouble quite a bit bc he’s Naughty, but Dutch and Hosea always make sure to punish him fairly and never yell or be physically intimidating with him or permanently take away his stuff, like they make him do chores to earn back the right to use the xbox or something. And they always explain to him exactly what he did wrong and why he’s being punished and talk to him about how he can make it better or what he can do next time, or if there’s a root problem, like he’s acting out bc he’s overwhelmed with school work or smthn, how they can help him. Especially after he gets diagnosed with ADHD

And of course they do all this with Arthur too, but they make a special concerted effort with John bc he’s The Baby :^) and Dutch somehow maintains an attitude of “idk what ur talking about, John has never done anything wrong ever in his life” every time he gets in trouble meanwhile Hosea is like “what do you MEAN, he’s a GREMLIN” fjfjfhhf

Arthur was probably diagnosed with depression and anxiety at some point... it was probably a long process to get him to even admit he had a problem bc he didnt wanna bother anyone... Arthur also probably came from an abusive situation from the way canon Arthur talks about his dad, but Arthur is much more the type to be like “i’m gonna keep all my feelings inside, and then one day, i’ll die” whereas John is like “i will SCREAM if i get a papercut”

Dutch is “Dad” and Hosea is “Papa” or “Pa” or “Pops” or “Dad, No Not You, The Other One” or “Other Dad.” Hosea really doesn’t mind at all, he wouldn’t care if the kids called him Hosea or mom or anything else, it truly isnt important to him. But Dutch Loves being Dad. Every time they call Dutch Dad he grows three times stronger and 10 years are added to his lifespan. Dutch is an Alpha Parent, he 100% goes to every parent teacher conference and bake sale, he’d go to every game and concert too if either of his kids had a single athletic or musical bone in their dumb little bodies. I guess the school probably hosts art galleries sometimes to display art the kids make, Arthur always has a drawing in one of those, and Dutch will absolutely go just to brag about his cool son.

Dutch is the Fun Energetic Dad who embarrasses the boys in front of their friends but can always be talked into taking them out to get ice cream. Hosea is the more quietly anxious dad, he makes sure they do their homework and keep their rooms clean and shit, and he's the one the kids always go to talk to when they’re having problems... like Arthur will rant for an hour and a half about high school drama and Hosea will patiently listen to all of it and when he's done he’ll offer to kick the other kids’ asses for him, and Arthur’s like lmao but Hosea Means It.

Hosea is also the one the kids go to for help on their homework because Hosea and Dutch have five brain cells between them, and four of them belong to Hosea. Dutch is like “suddenly I don’t remember basic math, time to make shit up” and Hosea is like “I must become an expert on 1820s Chinese history in two days for my beautiful sons”

The teacher Molly is TA for is Charles Chatenay, an all-grades art teacher who takes his job WAY too seriously, like dude chill they’re high schoolers. His class is where Arthur met Albert, bc Arthur loves drawing and obviously Albert loves photography. They were both like “wow he’s cute” but were too shy to talk to each other for more than basic pleasantries, until one day Albert’s Big Project was ruined a day or two before he was gonna turn it in, and Arthur helped him fix it.

Dutch expects Kieran to be as shitty as his dad, but he is a SWEET BOY, and as soon as they realize his situation, they tell Kieran he can come over whenever he wants and spend the night any time, he doesn’t have to ask or anything, but Kieran is super respectful and always asks permission and always tries to come over when John or Arthur are there so he can go under the pretense of hanging out with them, bc he doesn’t wanna intrude...

Once he came over when Hosea was the only one home and he was like “hi Mr. Matthews are John and Arthur home” and Hosea was like “no sorry they’re out” and Kieran was like “oh... ok sorry I’ll just go then” and Hosea was like “absolutely not” and brought Kieran in and made him snacks and wrapped him in many blankets and watched a kids movie with him until he fell asleep on the couch... when Dutch came home he was like “??? new son ???” and Hosea was like “yea I guess. oops”

When Kieran gets older they help him become an emancipated minor and get a job and his own place (even tho he knows they’d let him stay with them if he wanted) and he changes his last name to his mom’s maiden name Duffy... Colm and Dutch glare at each other over their fences and Colm is like “enjoying stealing my son?” and Dutch is like “my son now” but Colm really doesn’t care bc he’s an asshole... and even tho they don’t legally adopt him, Kieran’s like “I’m more of a Van der Linde than an O’Driscoll” and oops i’m making myself cry again :’)

And yes Abigail does eventually teach John how to play stupid super smash bros. She’s Pro Gamer level of competent at nearly all video games and John has the biggest heart eyes for her, the end thank u for listening

“It has been a long time since someone has expressed romantic interest in my brother,” he pointed out.

“Oh, I don’t doubt it,” you sighed wistfully.

“And he often looks lonely after missions,” he continued.

“Yeah, I’ve noticed,” you mumbled, eyes still glued to the archer.

“…So!” Genji finally groaned.

“So what?” you snapped, finally turning to him.

“Go talk to him!”

“T-Talk to him?” you stuttered nervously, “No way, th-there’s no way he’d want to talk to me. Especially since he’s busy with those targets…”

“He’s always busy with targets,” Genji rolled his eyes from behind his visor, “He doesn’t need the extra practice, he just does it when he’s lonely or troubled,”

“It’s nice to watch…” you smirked a little, watching as his muscular arms drew back the bow.

“[Name!]” Genji brought you back to reality, “Why don’t you go talk to him. You’ve had this crush on him since you came to Overwatch, but you never make a move!”

“Well that’s because–I mean–he’s a sharpshooter, a sniper, a strong warrior of Overwatch! And I’m just a support unit…I hop in and out of fights to help people, relying on my teammates to protect my sorry butt…”

Genji sighed, “So you’re intimidated? Is that it?”

“…Yeah…” you admitted.

“[Name], I’m an offense unit,” he said bluntly, “You weren’t afraid to approach me,”

“Th-this is different,” you stammered, “I didn’t have a crush on you,”

“[Name], none of us think you’re a useless addition to the team. We all value our support units, especially you,” Genji explained softly, “Nobody would ever belittle you for your support status, especially Hanzo. I think he admires those who can save lives so easily,”

You shifted uncomfortably as you thought it over. It was just that grim, dead-set face Hanzo always had. He seemed like he never had time for anyone much less little support units.

“We are defined by who we are, not what we are,” Genji concluded, sounding just as zen as his master.

Taking a deep breathe, you nodded, “Ok, you’re right! I need to stop telling myself I’m not good enough! I-I just…need to go over to him…a-and say something,”

“That’s the spirit!” Genji cheered.

“Well go on,” he urged.

“I can’t. My feet feel like they’re stuck!” you whimpered nervously.

“Just get out there already!” Genji laughed, giving you a nudge towards his brother.

Stumbling forward, you watched the archer hit another bull’s-eye, pulling another arrow to his bow. Cautiously, you came up next to him, watching him release the arrow and hit another target in the center.

“Hello, [Name],” he said gruffly, still totally concentrated on his work, “Is there something you need?”

He looked so scary and powerful! Why were you trying to waste his time?! Aaagh! Nervously, you glanced back towards Genji for some kind of help. The cyborg just gave a little “go on” gesture.

“A-Actually…” you mumbled anxiously, “I–uh–came to watch your target practice a-and um take notes! Yeah, my…my aim really i-isn’t very good so um I mean yours is! So I thought I-I could learn a thing or–uh–two from you…I mean as long as that doesn’t bother you, you know…”

Hanzo suddenly stopped midway from grabbing another arrow. Then his eyes slowly turned toward you, looking more surprised than usual.

“You…want me to teach you?” he asked with a hopeful look in his eye.

“Ummm…” you glanced back to Genji who was nodding furiously and giving you a thumbs-up, “Y-Yes! If it’s not too much trouble!”

“Of course not,” Hanzo shook his head, picking up a practice bow and handing it to you, “I’ve noticed your aim in battle. I was hoping you would try to fix it,”

You cringed. Were you really that bad at hitting your targets?

“But I am glad you sought me out to help you,” he gave a slight smile, “I was afraid you had been avoiding me,”

“Avoiding? Heh, nah o-of course not!” you giggled.

“Support units seem to be so nervous around me,” he said in a ponderous tone, “I was beginning to worry that I had been frightening you away…”

“No, no, it’s not th-that!” you tried to tell him, “I’m shy by nature, I promise!”

He tapped his finger to his chin a few moments before saying, “Very well, let us begin with your stance,”

Your whole face grew hot as Hanzo suddenly stepped behind you, wrapping his arms around yours and guiding your hands into the right positions. Then he nudged your foot with his and instructed you to tighten your grip. You glanced back at Genji again, who looked like he was laughing from behind his visor.

D.Va

You always admired D.Va so much. She fearlessly flew into every fight with her meka, disrupting the enemy’s ranks and wreaking havoc. Then just when they thought they had taken down her meka, she’d shout “nerf this!” and blow them all to smithereens! You thought she was simply amazing and almost made you wish that you were a tank unit. But you were just a support unit, sticking back with the offense units and keeping them supplied with shields and heals.

But one day, during a really rough battle, D.Va started calling on her comm link for extra backup: things like more firepower, defense, and a support unit to keep her going. No other supports responded, so you were the one to answer her call and move to the front lines. It was scary as all hell up there, explosions and bullets flying, yet Hana kept her cool like it was another day at the arcade!

“Thanks for coming to help guys! Their snipers are really annoying but their offense won’t let me get close to them! Could you guys keep their offense busy?” she explained, then turned to you, “And [Name], could you pocket heal me? My meka’s gonna fall apart without your heals!”

“U-Uh–yes! Yes ma’am!” you piped almost like a robot.

“Hee hee!!” Hana snorted, “Who’s ma’am? I’m D.Va, silly!”

You felt a little blush form on your face as she laughed her bubbly laugh.

“R-Right, D.Va…” you muttered.

“Let’s mooove out!” she cheered excitedly, taking off with her boosters.

Somehow you were able to keep up, steadily healing her as she disrupted the snipers, disarming them and booping them out of their nests. It was really hard at times; sometimes her meka’s health would go dangerously low even as you healed her all you could. But luckily, her meka never got wrecked…well until she wrecked it herself.

“Snipers eliminated!” she reported happily into her comm link, then looked back to you, “Watch this, [Name]!”

With that, she boosted her meka into the air, ejecting at the last second and sending it into self-destruct mode. It turned into a big ball of light, soaring through the air and eventually landing in the enemy base with a KABOOM! You watched awe-struck as the whole sky lit up and the base flew into a thousand pieces.

“Woohoo! Bonus points!” Hana cheered.

“That was amazing…” you breathed.

“Yeah, I guess it was,” she shrugged, “But I couldn’t have done it without you, [Name]. Your healing was what really kept me going!”

You blushed again, staring down at your shoes bashfully, “I mean, I wasn’t that great. Nothing different from what I usually do…”

“Hey!” she grinned, taking you by the hand and leading you back to your own base, “Do you wanna hang out sometime?”

“H…Hang out?” you couldn’t believe someone as famous and strong as D.Va was asking you to “hang out!”

“Uh-huh, you know that thing that people do when they wanna spend more time with each other?” she chuckled at you.

Your expression slowly dropped, remembering your place.

“But…you’re a tank unit, and I’m a support unit…” you mumbled.

“Yeah? Why is that important?” she shrugged.

“Because I’m just a support unit,” you admitted, “Don’t you want to hang out with someone cooler like another tank or attack unit?”

“Nope!” she smiled, “I wanna hang out with you, [Name]! Units don’t matter! They’re just dumb, stuffy titles,”

With that she slung an arm over your shoulder and pulled you close, making you stiffen up. You were so close to her! She smelled like bubblegum and new car…

“So what do you want to do? We could play video games or go to the arcade or go shopping–ooh! Do you like ice cream? I know this great place that gives me free…”

She’d be talking all the way back to base.

Junkrat

“Oi! I need healin’!” “Where’s my heals?” “Oi! Healer, over here!”

Why did you have to fall for a guy who treated supports like servants? Why did he only ever call you “Healer” or “Doc?” He was so tall and lanky, yet muscle-y at the same time, with a cute laugh and an outgoing attitude. Junkrat was everything you looked for in a guy, despite your friends saying you were crazy for it.

But you never once made a move. It always seemed like an arsonist would never have any time for a support unit, especially when he seemed to think they were so unimportant to the team. A lot of the other support units would get bad at him for his rude tone around him. They’d punish him with a smack on the head or a “no heal” policy for at least one battle. Some supports had given up on healing him altogether–he was the one who’d accidentally drop grenades on himself, after all.

But you just couldn’t keep yourself from healing him. It meant you got to admire him up close…even if you never said anything to him. Sometimes he’d even give you a little “Thanks, mate!” But as far as you were concerned, Jamison would never like a support unit. It wasn’t until the end of one of your missions that you were proven wrong.

“Hooly dooly, that was some fight!” Junkrat marveled at the wreckage as his hair smoked.

“No kidding,” you huffed as you tried to catch your breath, “I thought for sure we were gonna lose the point,”

“Same! We were the only ones on it!” he laughed, “I kept waitin’ for them to punt me off, but you kept me goin’!”

“Oh, yeah whatever,” you shrugged as you flopped down on the ground exhausted, “Well you did all the hard work,”

“Me? You were the one dodgin’ all those bullets and givin’ me all them buffs!” he pointed out as he sat down next to you, “I wouldn’t’ve been able to hold the point if it weren’t for you!”

A small blush crept its way onto your face, but you quickly shook your head and waved your hand dismissively.

“No, I wouldn’t have survived it if it weren’t for you blowing up anyone who came close to me.”

Seriously. Any flanker who’d try to sneak up on you would get a “Not my healer, you bitch!” from Junkrat.

“Well at least we can admit we work well together, eh?” he chuckled.

“Sure…” you mumbled bashfully, “Why not?”

“Eh c’mon, why ya hidin’ yer face now?” he smirked as he took your chin and gently guided it toward him.

“I-I’m not!” you squeaked in shock.

You hadn’t expected him to do that! His fingers felt all sooty and calloused…

“Yeah you are!” he sang.

“Sh-shut up…” you pouted, pulling away.

“Oi, why can’t ya just accept the complement?” he whined.

You crossed your arms, “Because I know you don’t mean it. You don’t care about support units in the slightest, Jamison,”

“The hell I do!” he retorted, “Well, only the good ones, that is,”

You gave him a glare and he put up his hands in defense, “I get it, I get it, you support-y types don’t like me. But you’re one of the only good ones on the team! You actually heal me and stick by me unlike all the other pricks who up and leave me for being ‘rude.’”

“But you, [Name], you’re a healer I can lean on!” he grinned, “ya’ve never let me down! That’s what I like about you!”

That’s what he…liked about you? Your face went red as you processed his words, looking like you had seen a giant spider.

“So…you don’t hate support units?” you asked.

“Hate ‘em? Nah!” he cackled, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you close to him, “Just drongos who don’t give me the time of day!”

Slowly, a smile appeared on your lips as you melted into him, letting him hold you closer. Jamison was a prickly guy and hard to get close to, and you always thought you’d never get very far with him, but all that time you had spent around him had been one big step towards knowing the real him.
