Jealous Benny Watts imagine
Tumblr media
A/N - hiii ! I have been having a writer’s block with ,,France is no escape” so here’s a simple imagine. I got a (anonymous) request for a jealous Benny Watts story so I said, screw it even if I wasn't going to do requests, because this actually was refreshing to write. I’m not very satisfied with how this turned out because I felt like I couldn't get enough detail in- but I didn't want it to be too long.
A bit of context : the reader has known Benny for around a year and they have been rather close friends, there has never been any romance in their relationship. You can view this as either platonic or romantic.
(also this is gender neutral again because they didn't specify if they wanted the reader with any specific gender or pronouns)
Pairing : Benny Watts x reader
Word count : 2260
Warnings : swearing, that’s basically it :]

I pulled my shirt over my head as I sat down in front of my vanity.
I’ve had a miserable morning.
My morning started off with the ringing sound of my smoke detector—which was wrongfully going off—so I had to stumble out of bed to run and turn it off.
After a bit of fidgeting and bothering the stupid ringing machine on my wall, I decided to try and cheer my morning up with some breakfast.
I hit my hip harshly against the corner of the counter while I was making myself eggs and then burnt my eggs on the stove.
No wonder I don’t wake up early.
The frown stuck on my face no matter what I looked at.
I pulled myself out of my chair, hissing from the pain that has seemed to spread farther than just my hip.
I walked over to the window and peeked through the curtains; it was barely light outside.
The scent of damp concrete from the New York rain was paired with the wet autumn leaves that scattered my little corner of this large city.
I was rudely awakened before sunrise with no reasoning to be up.
I am recently unemployed and can’t seem to find a job that uses my skills, I had the money to keep up my rent and bills for a couple months but after that I may as well be asking my parents for money... again.
I jumped at the sound of the phone, “Jesus Christ,” I mumbled as I put a hand on my chest stopping my ghost from jumping out of my body.
I grabbed the phone that sat on my withering nightstand, I cleared my throat and spoke.
“Hello?” I answered,
“You’re up early,” the man laughed,
“Yes, yes I am. What do you need Benny?” I asked him, I wasn’t exactly the friendliest this morning, but this was not new treatment for Benny.
“Fancy a morning walk?”
“Now?” I looked at the vanity mirror behind me, an irritated half-dressed zombie looked back at me.
“It is morning, isn’t it? Anyway, be ready in ten- I’m on my way out,” he hung up abruptly.
I pulled the phone away from my ear, “Fuckin’ Benny,” I growled dropping the phone back onto the stand.
A knocking came from the front door as I fumbled shoving my last-minute toast in my mouth and grabbing my coat.
I rushed to the door and unlocked it; Benny stood on the other side playing with his house keys.
The tall man in front of me looked up and smiled, Benny dressed himself in his multiple shades and fabrics of dark clothing. His leather hat sat on his dirty-blonde waves of hair; his trench coat ended at his knees.
“Woah... you look terrible,” he joked and slipped his keys into his pocket,
I mumbled an inaudible insult through the toast I was holding in my mouth, he sighed and pulled me outside.
Benny, slim yet strong, barely let me lock the door behind me before he tugged me down the stairs outside of my small apartment.
“You’re so pushy,” I told him and let out my first laugh of today.
He held my hand as he guided me down the stairs and down the sidewalk.
Benny always held my hand when we were together- when we were with friends, when we walked together, when he introduced me to chess reporters and interviewers.
His hands were always cold, always boney, and the metal of his rings always rubbed rather uncomfortably against my fingers, but I didn’t mind it so much anymore.
“So- you know how I was going to do that interview with Chess Review?” he asked me, glancing over. I let out a quiet ‘mhm’ and sped up my pace to keep up with his large steps, my hip was in pain, but I kept quiet and just tried to keep up.
“Well, we are going to the interview right now,” my eyes widened,
“We are what?”
It didn’t matter how much I protested Benny having me tag along to his interviews, because here I sat in a diner at 6:45 AM with Benny and an author for one of the most read Chess magazines.
I pulled my mind away from their conversation after a while of hearing the same average interviewing questions-
How are you feeling about this up-and-coming tournament?
Is there anyone you are nervous about playing?
Any new love interests in your life?
I watched the traffic out the diner’s window, the people walking past, the leaves and city trash carried by the weak wind.
“I think that’s all I’ll need for today… oh sorry, who’s this?” the reporter asked Benny.
I glanced over to Benny and then to the reporter.
“Uh, yeah- this is Y/N,” Benny introduced me, I felt weak, so I simply smiled.
“Not very talkative, huh?” the reporter joked, I looked the man dead in the eyes almost amused by his behavior.
“You want to talk? How about you ask better questions while you have a US Chess Champion in front of you?” I straightened out, “Like what’s your thoughts on what high school chess players are being taught? And do you plan to play in France next year against Borgov?” I turned to the man—who was dressed in a dull colored suit—and smiled, a bit proud of myself.
Benny held back a laugh as the reporter sat speechless for a moment… he reporter smiled and then burst into a laughter that caught the whole diner’s attention.
Unlike most interviews, we planned to meet for dinner with the reporter—who’s name I learned was Henry—due to what I said.
Benny agreed only because he got to choose the place and he seemed to be interested by the reporter and his ability to feel less like an obsessed interviewer and more of a ‘friend’ which I believe he took back those words later in the night.
“You ready?” Benny asked me, I had spent the rest of the morning and afternoon with him in his apartment.
I straightened my dress-shirt and sighed, I turned around and checked my back in the mirror for any imperfections in my outfit.
After we left the diner, Benny had me grab a new pair of clothes for the dinner on our way to his apartment. And thank goodness I grabbed new clothes since my jeans had been rubbing against my hip just a bit too roughly.
Benny opened the door to his room, where he offered me to get dressed in instead of his small bathroom.
“You look nice,” he complimented me, I whipped my head in his direction and smiled.
“You too, is that a new hat?” I teased him. He never changes, and I’ve never even seen him dress to impress once.
He snorted and walked up beside me, “This might be weird,” I paused and turned to face him. “Do you think I could get an editor position at Chess Review if I… charmed Henry?” I asked him.
He stared at me, he never seemed to be afraid of eye-contact.
“Charmed?” he questioned,
“Not like that- I mean,” I sighed as he smiled, “You’re the worst,” I straightened his coat as he stood in front of me.
“Let’s get going before Henry writes me out to be known to ditch dinners,” Benny joked and pulled me to the door.
Henry greeted us both with a hug when we arrived at the restaurant.
Benny picked a downtown restaurant, not too well-known, not too sketchy.
The place was lit up in strings of lights of all colors giving the place almost a festive feel, the place was Italian as far as I could tell.
60s pop music played quietly behind the laughter and chatter of the guests, everyone wore their coats indoors because of the random breezes that came from the open windows and doors.
I pushed a couple strands of hair behind my ear as I listened to Henry enthuse about some writing class he went to; he was quite the writer as well as a decent reporter.
“So, what does it take to get an editing job there?” I asked Henry,
“Oh? Looking, are we?” he laughed quietly, “You might be in luck, one of our editors is moving to our branch in California. Need a reference from a trusted, handsome, reporter?” he smiled and leaned back in his chair.
“I might,” I took a sip of my drink,
“Let’s say I get you an interview- could I ask you to dinner some time?” he flirted, I almost choked on my drink.
I whipped my mouth with my napkin and smiled nervously, I looked at Benny who rested his head on his hand. Benny was staring at me, his eyes told me to decline but if I declined, I wouldn’t be sure I would get this interview.
“Ask me when you get that interview,” I told Henry looking away from Benny’s judging gaze.
He chuckled, “That’s fair, you have your priorities,” he didn’t seem to take it as a no, but he didn’t flirt again.
I thought the night ended nicely, Henry said he would work on getting me an interview with Chess Review and he asked Benny a lot of more relevant questions that he should’ve asked this morning.
Benny took his chance to offer to walk me home before Henry could, Benny seemed tense and a bit upset after Henry flirted with me, but I wasn’t going to turn down a job to make him happy.
I shoved my hands in the pockets of my coat as I walked home, I glanced beside me at Benny who refused to let me walk home by myself at this hour even if it was a couple blocks away by now.
“Really, you can go home. I’m fine,” I told Benny, he scoffed and stopped.
“You shoulda’ turned him down, told him you weren’t interested,” Benny told me bluntly,
“Are you seriously upset about this?” I turned to him,
“Yes, yes I’m fuckin’ upset that a man tried to make a move on you while we were all at dinner,” he spat, he pulled his hat off and ran a hand through is hair.
“Benny! I turned him down!” I walked over to the stairs up to someone’s apartment, I went to sit down on the stairs and hissed in pain.
Benny’s eyes darted to me, “What’s wrong with you?” he asked.
“It’s nothing! I just hit my hip against the counter this morning, it’s just bruised,” I said, stress tangled in my voice.
Benny sighed and crouched down by me, he lifted my coat and pulled my shirt out from tucked in my pants. I held my coat and shirt out of his way, and he moved my pants to look at my hip,
“What were you doin’? Dancing around and shit?” he almost laughed as he ran his thumb over my bruise,
“Could you not do that?” I held back a squeal from the feeling of his cold fingers against my hip.
He exhaled heavily due to the cold weather and helped me pull my clothes back down, he pulled me up off the stairs.
“C’mon,” his fingers found their way in between mine—which he hadn’t done on our walk back previously—as he walked me back home.
Once we got to my door, Benny grabbed my keys from me and unlocked my door. He walked in, pulling me in after him.
Benny made himself at home as per usual as he took off his hat and coat on his way to my small kitchen.
I sat down on a stool in my kitchen as I watched him open my freezer and grab my ice-tray, he wrapped some ice in a cloth and put the tray back.
“Really?” I groaned as he handed me the cloth with ice, he nodded and gave me a look that said I didn’t want to test him.
“Fine,” I sighed.
I unzipped my coat and threw it on the counter behind me, I pulled my shirt up on the side just a bit and made my bruise visible. I hadn’t really looked at the bruise since I got it, it was all kinds of shades of purple and blue and it even looked like it hurt.
Benny suddenly pressed the cold rag against the side of my hip, “Ah!” I yelped.
Benny snickered and held the cloth against my hip as he leaned his side against the counter and faced me.
Silence filled my apartment quickly and all you could hear was distant cars and wind from outside.
“Thank you,” I filled the silence, Benny looked away from the window to me.
“You wouldn’t go to dinner with some self-absorbed asshole reporter, right?” he asked for reassurance of some kind,
“Not Henry… maybe one who wore a hat,” I paused, Benny raised an eyebrow. “He of course has to be blonde, and a trench coat would be a nice addition,” it took only seconds to see Benny realize what I was doing.
Benny pressed the ice against my hip harshly, “Ah! Okay! I’m sorry!” I laughed.
In all the time I’ve known Benny, this was one of the first times he had actually been openly jealous. Of course, it’s not every day I get asked for dinner while he is around, but it was strange. It was strange because it felt nice, I liked thinking he didn’t want me dating others, maybe it proved my suspicions.

The Next time OR 4 times Mat stood you up and the one time you had enough {Mathew Barzal}
Word count: 2,5k
Warnings: ehh absolute sadness?
Tumblr media
Something had changed over the course of yours and Mat's relationship. At the beginning he was incredibly attentive. He took you out on date nights at least once every two weeks depending on his schedule. Randomly let your favorite flowers be delivered to your apartment to put a smile on your face. When he was home you spent as much time as possible together during which he was more or less attached on your back. He was cuddling you and giving you kisses as much as he could.
When you had first started started dating you would have never thought he could be clingy or shy. But when things got serious between you two you quickly realized that he wasn't just that confident, good-looking hockey superstar. He could be really shy and would blush everytime you complimented him.
Now, nearly two years later things had changed. Of course Mat was still as busy as before. But now it seemed that he didn't want to spent time with you anymore. By now you had moved in together and you noticed that he came up with excuses not to spend time with you anymore. He was telling you practice was running late more often or told you that he would hang out with his teammates after practice or games. When he was away he'd text you less regular than usual. And the late night facetime calls were also becoming less and less until they became nonexistent.
It messed with your head. It made you insecure and it made you overthink every single thing about your relationship. You searched the problem in yourself. And came to a conclusion. You would try to better your relationship so it could go back to the way it was.
-----
1.
The first date was supposed to be a normal movie night after he got back from practice. You had asked him a couple of days before and he had agreed with 'I wouldn't miss it for the world'. Funny how things had turned out. You had everything ready. You put all of the pillows and blankets you had in your apartment on your couch to make it as comfortable and cuddly as possible. You had ordered pizza that was supposed to arrive in 45 minutes, shortly after Mat would be home as well. You had bought a bottle of his favorite wine and you just hoped you two would go back to your loving relationship. You had been antsy the whole day, excited to spent time alone with your boyfriend again. But just as you were about to go to the bedroom to change into something you felt a little sexier in than an old shirt and jeans your phone lit up with a message.
Mat🥰: hey. I'm sorry for having to cancel but we are doing a team building exercise that I can't miss. Will probably get in late. Don't wait up for me. Hope you're not too mad. LY
He had canceled. He really had canceled on you. But you understand the situation. The team was not doing well right now and you knew their coach was harder on them now. But you were still disappointed. You were so excited for him to finally have a movie night with you again. And the fact that he didn't even really texted an 'I love you' made your heart break a little. Letting yourself sit down on the couch and texting him back that it was fine you let out a big sigh. Looks like you had to crush the pizza and bottle of wine all by yourself. The next time it would all go well, you tried to tell yourself. Next time would be better.

2.
Your parent were in town. Since your hometown was far away from New York is was incredibly rare so you were buzzing the whole week before they would get there for the weekend. Your parents loved Mat and they always made sure to ask about him every time you were talking on the phone. Your mother always assured you that Mat was the one for you, saying that the way he looked at you spoke more than thousand words. Your dad even called him 'son' and had invited him out for fishing trips multiple times. So it was no surprise they wanted Mat to be there for the family dinner in a restaurant. So you talked to Mat about it the Tuesday morning before the weekend.
"Hey Mat?"
He looked up from his breakfast and hummed, signaling you to continue talking.
"So my parents are visiting this weekend. We are having a family dinner on Saturday and it would be amazing if you would come with us. They asked if you could be there. It would mean a lot to me."
His eyes got soft and he nodded with a soft smile while swallowing his food. He put away his plate and came up to you, pressing a kiss to your head before answering.
"Sure, I'll be there. Just tell me when and where, what I have to wear and I'll make sure to show up. But we gotta get home a little early because of the game on Sunday and the morning skate."
You also gave him a nod and pressed a kiss to his lips before he moved to the door to get to practice.
On Saturday however you hadn't heard from Mat since he left for practice. Assuming it was just running late you left him a message with the restaurant while getting ready for the dinner. Showering and getting ready made you relax a little. Your family was incredibly important to you and you missed them so much. This dinner would be great.
You were just about to get in the uber to drive to the restaurant when you felt your phone vibrate in your purse. A message from Mat.
Mat🥰: Sorry babe, I can't make it for your family dinner. Practice is running late and I don't think I'll be able to stay awake for dinner. Hug your parents from me.
Immediately your mood turned sour. He knew how much this dinner meant to you. And you wanted him to have part in it just as much as you hoped he would want to be a part of it. But it was understandable. Practices were hard, especially if they ran late. Next time it will all go well. Next time will be better.
------
3.
The next time Mat was the one to plan a date. He had told you that morning that he'd take you out after the game that night. You were, of course, incredibly excited. It felt like the first time in months that he had made an effort to better your relationship and you couldn't wait to go out with him. He told you he'd take you to a diner he had discovered with some of his teammates so you could dress casually in jeans without worrying too much.
So you did. You stayed home from the game to get ready and watched the game on the TV in your bedroom. You cheered loudly as Mat and Tito both scores, feeling happy for your boyfriend and his best friend. When you were finally done the isles ended the game with a great win. You knew Mat would be in a good mood tonight. And so you waited for him to pick you up.
Half an hour passed
An hour passed.
Almost one and a half hours after the game you finally got a message. But the massage made tears well up in your eyes in frustration.
Mat🥰: Out with the boys. Don't wait up for me
He forgot yet again. The one time he had made the effort and he still forgot. You couldn't help but get upset over it. Why would he ask you for dinner if he would just forget and stand you up. You didn't understand him. But you were still hopeful. Next time. Next time it will be better.
--------
4.
That next time you didn't even know you got stood up. You were both hanging out at home when he suddenly got up from the couch and made his way to your bedroom. Looking after him with a confused frown on your face you called after him.
"Babe? What are you doing?"
You got no answer other than hearing him move around in the room. You sat up from the couch as well, ready to follow him, as he walked down the hallway now dressed in a button up shirt. The frown on your face deepened as he made his way to the door to put on shoes and get his keys.
"Where are you going? You got up so suddenly."
He looked up at you with the front door already opened. He had a forced smile on his face that was probably supposed to soothe you. It did the complete opposite. His eyes roamed around the room not meeting yours. He only did that when he was nervous, but why would he be nervous.
"Just a team thing. It's boring, nothing to worry about."
You looked down and nodded. You opened your mouth to ask more questions when you heard the front door fall shut.
For the most part, you believed him. It wasn't unusual to have spontaneous team meeting when something important came up so you wouldn't worry too much. That was until you opened Instagram and saw the stories some of the other WAGS of the team had posted. Turns out it wasn't a boring team thing. It was a team family dinner for players, coaches and their significant others. It looked like they had a lot of fun and from what you could tell Mat sat around with the single guys of the team.
You were surely overreacting. Maybe he didn't know it was that important. He was a little forgetful sometimes. But it still hurt. It was the first time in almost one and a half years you had missed a team dinner where significant others were welcome as well. It made your heart break as you clung onto that last bit of hope.
One chance. Just one last chance.
------
+1
It was your two year anniversary. Something you should be excited and happy about. For you it only signaled that last chance you were giving Mat to prove himself. To prove that he wanted this to work.
The reservation in the restaurant had been made months beforehand. Mat wanted to make sure you got the best of the best for your anniversary. Now, a couple months later, it seemed like that Mat had been completely switched out. Nothing reminded you of the man he had been. You were so close to your breaking point, you only needed that one last blow for you to break completely. Who would have thought it would come on the day that was supposed to be one of the happiest days of the year for you.
You were sitting in the restaurant, alone, waiting for your boyfriend to finally show up. You were wearing your best dress and had made sure you looked your absolute best. It had been half an hour later than the original reservation and you were starting to get restless. Sitting alone at a table for two was always embarrassing, but at an expensive restaurant? It was so much worse. You could see the other guests glance over at your frame and the waitress was giving you looks full of pity. You fiddled with your hands as you hoped with all your might that Mat would show up in the next couple of minutes. As this didn't happen you pulled out your phone. No messages. Right then you decided you had enough. You had tried everything in you to safe whatever was left of your relationship and Mat didn't seem to want the same. You were tired, you were exhausted. You were done. Ordering yourself an uber you drank the glass of water that had been served when you had arrived. Apologizing to the waitress for the inconvenience you went outside to catch some fresh air before your uber arrived. You had made your decision. You couldn't do this anymore. You had to break up with him.
On the way back to your apartment the tears started. Your heart was breaking. You loved Mat so much, but now it seemed like the last two years had just been a complete waste of time. You wanted to be happy again and fighting for a relationship without the help of your partner was making you miserable. Everyone was so sure about you and Mat being soulmates. Seems like they were wrong.
When the uber stopped at your apartment building the anger began to rise up. And it only began to rise the closer you got to your apartment the door. What made you explode however was seeing your boyfriend sitting on the couch in sweatpants watching a rerun of a hockey game. He could be serious.
He looked over his shoulder at you and frowned. He really didn't realize what he had done wrong.
"Babe why are you dressed like that? It looks like you were on a date?"
Hearing that sentence made all common sense fly out of the window for you as anger completely overtook your body.
"Are you kidding me? I look like I was on a date? Yeah! I was supposed to be at my two year anniversary dinner! But guess who didn't show up? The one person I was supposed to be celebrating with!"
Your voice got louder and it shook at the end as angry tears streamed down your face. Mathew's face finally showed some realization as he jumped from the couch and came up to you, trying to pull you into a hug. You held your hand out, stopping him mid-movement. His eyes skimmed over his face as he began stuttering.
"Baby. I am so sorry. I didn't look at the date and completly forgot about it. I will make it up to you I promise. I will make this better."
You let out a scoff, rolling your eyes and stepping back to get more distance between the two of you. As great as that sounded you learned from earlier mistakes. These were just empty words. Just like the rest. They meant nothing.
"Mathew just stop. I am done. I am so done with you. Do you know how many chances I gave you to make things up to me? No? Well it doesn't surprise me. I have been trying for weeks, no months for us to spend quality time together. Every time you canceled on me. You even canceled on me when you were the one asking me to go out with you! I'm so tired of trying to keep this relationship stable when I get nothing in return. It's like I'm just a good thing to have. Well jokes on you, you won't have me anymore. I can't do this anymore. We're over Mathew!"
These were the last words you said before turning around and storming out of the apartment, leaving Mathew standing in the entrance hall thinking about how he had made the biggest mistake of his life in making you feel like this.
He had wasted his chances.

Characters: Modern AU!Kylo Ren x Female Reader
Words: 2k
Warnings/Tags: Explicit (18+), Sugar daddy relationship, sexual references but no actual smut, bisexual vibes, attending a strip club.
Author’s Note: This is all because of my love, @maryforyou. An AU venture she ignited and I couldn’t let go of. Read into this however you want, I’m an open book in terms of exploring sexuality without labels. Being the first AU I’ve ever attempted, I kept this as an intro, to hopefully dive into the more explicit content I’ve been ruminating on for too long as a Part 2 (depending on how this is received).
*
“Are you sure this what you want?”
You smiled sweetly, smoothing out the creases in your dress as Kylo handed you your coat and gloves. “Like I said every day this week, I’m very sure.”
He still appeared doubtful, plush lips twisted in a disbelieving frown. “I could give you anything your heart desires for your birthday, princess,” he urged, helping you to secure the top buttons of your waistcoat, his large frame shifting close to yours. “This barely seems like enough of a gift for such a special occasion.”
Kylo was used to showering you with physical symbols of his adoration in the 18 months you had known him. The man had more money than he knew what to do with, lavishing all types of jewellery and clothing on you, some of the pieces you were certain cost more than your tiny apartment in the outskirts of the city. Every time you tried to refuse the extravagant gifts, Kylo always replied with sweetened notions of needing to worship and adore the personified goddess he saw you as. And when spoken in his infuriatingly mesmerising tenor, they would quickly conquer your resistance.
You were acutely aware of what this looked like from an outside perspective. A wealthy older man courting a young woman over 10 years his junior. Bathing her head to toe in the finest attire, parading her around in places a woman of her standing wouldn’t have been able to afford in two lifetimes.
A label came with this kind of behaviour. One you didn’t particularly like, yet was still true.
Sugar daddy.
There wasn’t a way you could deny that’s how your association with Kylo begun.
You’d heard whispers of other girls at the college you went to doing it. Offering their bodies to the affluent men of this city. At first, you’d scoffed at the idea. But when that third overdue notice of your credit card debt came, with the threat of eviction hanging over your head, you didn’t really have much choice.
A name was given to you of a bar that specialised in these kinds of meetings, completely covertly of course. And there Kylo had found you, hiding away in a secluded corner, stirring the gin and tonic in front of you with a single finger. At first, you’d assumed he was a well-dressed bartender, seemingly too young and strikingly handsome to be in need of a place like this. So you smiled sweetly and told him you weren’t quite done with your drink.
Within such an innocent interaction, Kylo knew he had to have you. And he did, 45 minutes later in the poorly lit bathroom stall, half-dressed bodies clutched together as he had you perch on the porcelain sink, fucking you with an uncharacteristically reckless abandon.
He hadn’t intended to. He hadn’t been entirely sure what he anticipated from that evening, the recommendation being given to him from a higher executive who regularly partook in the questionable operations of this establishment. Kylo meant only to scope the place out, sit for a quiet solitary drink out of the way of other patrons. There, he’d discovered you.
Shrinking into your stool, somewhat inhibited, clearly out of your element. The shy smile that spread across your face after he murmured a stiff hello ensnared him in moments, simply for how sincere it was. He wasn’t used to that.
Another thing Kylo wasn’t used to was the type of electricity that followed in your conversation. Rarely had he experienced an exchange that was so charged yet… genuine. You didn’t appear expectant, didn’t care to know how much money he made or the status of his career. You simply wanted to talk.
It was interesting how this fuelled an urge to make you speechless, to have you resorting to whines and whimpers rather than articulate your thoughts with any words. He didn’t act on them. Content to bide his time, play his cards right, set a precedence of composure and restraint in the hope of securing another meeting. You, however, had never cultivated the same type of discipline Kylo had.
After too many long minutes of flirtatious banter, you leaned forward, mouthing in a hushed tone, asking him to meet you in the women’s bathroom.
The chance encounter had bound you for longer than predicted.
Although never explicitly stated, the two of you fulfilled a portion of each other’s needs. Kylo required adequate distraction from his corporate life, someone who could slip into his erratic schedule with ease to… relieve him of mounting tension. In return, he provided you the monetary means to live in the city of your dreams without constant fear of homelessness.
In the months that passed, your arrangement turned into something stable, secure. His presence a constant in your life. While his working hours were long and finishing times unpredictable, Kylo could always count on you to be summoned to him from a single text message. Be it in the middle of the day, or the early hours of morning, you would race to a place of his choosing. Sometimes at his lush apartment, sometimes his office, and a plethora of restaurant bathrooms across the city after particularly stressful business lunches.
Initially, your involvement was kept mostly out of public view. Kylo had wanted to protect you from the judgements and negative connotations that were unavoidable in the arena of his work. Around the year mark, these reservations about being seen with you seemed to dissipate. Soon you were linked hand in hand at countless high-class dinners and charity events. A poised and elegant couple, right until the last set of eyes moved away.
This is where you had your fun.
As spectacular as Kylo was at fucking you until you saw stars, he’d surprisingly gone this long in life without venturing into more creative territory when it came to satisfaction. His version of sex was fast and hard, needing as much as you as he could get, chasing release with no frills or diversion. He’d never had the time, or the right lover, to encourage any of his deeply hidden fantasies. Until you.
You were game for anything. Sexually adventurous. Ready and willing to try all there was on offer just to elicit the highest levels of ecstasy. It was difficult not to be at the thought of Kylo’s hands, his mouth, his tongue, any part of him.
Although a little more slowly, he began to welcome new experiences, new pursuits of pleasure. Witnessing your reactions to these efforts became somewhat of an addiction for him. The way you writhed and squealed when exploring anal play for the first time. The way you surrendered and adored his verbal degradation and physical strikes. The way your body twitched and spasmed after the use of a newly obtained toy purchased with his platinum credit card.
You never pushed him, or forced him into anything he found uncomfortable in the chase of a sexual high. Communication was paramount, and boundaries were respected.
Interestingly enough, tonight was a boundary he never thought you’d cross.
“This is what I asked for, remember?” you smiled, taking the opportunity to press a gentle kiss to his nose.
Kylo’s apprehension refused to dissipate, while still clutching you closer. “It just… seems like this is something I will enjoy more than you.”
You barely withheld the urge to roll your eyes. “You’re sure about that, are you?”
His eyebrows crinkled, thinking the question over. There was the hint of a smirk that tugged the corner of his mouth, a subtle excited quiver in the breath he exhaled. “So you’re not doing this for me?”
“Not at all,” you breathed. Your palm slipped under his clean-shaven jaw, skating a thumb reassuringly over his cheek. “I’ve wanted to do this for a long time.”
“You have?”
You hummed a yes, drifting your lips intoxicatingly close to his, staring up with wide eyes.
Kylo’s mouth twisted slightly. “I wouldn’t want you to feel jealous, princess.”
“You’re only looking,” you insisted softly. “And, even if you touch a little…” You bit your lip at the thought. “Those women won’t be who gets to be taken home and fucked until it hurts.”
There was a noticeable tensing in the arms circled around you, as Kylo’s eyes began to burn with an impatient greed. “I could do that now, right against this door.”
It was difficult to deny how you’d happily allow him to make true on that statement. To slam you into the exquisitely carved oak door of his apartment and fill you to your absolute limit. However, the tantalising image of your planned evening was too consuming, heaving and tugging for you to indulge a deeply embedded desire you’d never been brave enough to pursue.
“Save it for when we get home,” you chirped, reaching for the doorhandle and dragging Kylo into the hallway.
 *
“Follow me,” the maître D instructed, her voice cheerfully welcoming. Even the sight of her silken, green dress was intimidating, the fabric glossing over her nimble shape as she guided you up the set of stairs. The lighting was low, almost too dark to see properly, Kylo’s grip strong as your steps were drowned out by the sultry music emanating behind the double doors at the apex. As they were opened to you, the hypnotic baseline ricocheted around your body.
You scanned around the large room, bold lights illuminating a risen stage with two currently unused silver poles at either corner. Plush chairs circled around, occupied by a differing array of men. Slinking between the patrons were women decorated with luxurious, high-end lingerie, each one styled and set to provoke unyielding temptation.
This was a completely new undertaking for you. Attending a strip club. Usually a male endeavour, seeking out instant gratification in the form of scantily clad bodies and paid attention. You knew this was an unusual request for a birthday outing, yet in truth there was nothing from Kylo you wanted more.
The two reasons were somewhat opposing, although they would still feed the same goal. Satisfying a craving.
One being that you had always found women to be alluring and captivating to a height you’d never really accepted, almost been afraid of. Only with time and maturity had you learned your attraction to them was a natural occurrence you were now ready to explore.
The other reason was a little more scandalous, and what you hadn’t quite articulated to Kylo yet. To have the view of his eyes roaming another woman’s almost naked body as she exposed herself to him, drove you wild. In a situation you should feel jealousy, you were only devoured by an uncontainable lust.
Occasionally your mind had forayed into imaginations where he would take another like he’d taken you countless times, able to watch his hands clawing at supple breasts, the smooth motion of his hips, how his thick cock would split a tight, dripping cunt in two. All the while he would deride and goad you, layering you with taunts, desperate to inflame your envy and ownership.
Your plan for this particular evening didn’t extend that far. You only wished to enjoy the performance of mesmeric women in their most enchanting form, observe Kylo’s undeniable arousal at the same lithe, flexible bodies, and return home to remind him that only you could ignite the billowing flames of a violent release.
Oh, but that plan crumbled when you’d each settled into your seats, just in time for the next show of seduction. A pair of glittered, platform heels slinked near to the pole closest to you, your vision roaming upwards over the statuesque figure they connected to. Delicately laced, ivory fabric shielded her most intimate portions from full view, conforming flawlessly to the curves of her figure. Somehow demure yet indecently sensual.
Lips parted, your breath hitched as the exquisite woman twirled around, her eyes trained to you as she let a wicked smile appear. You were sure this was a regular occurrence, a flirtation she expressed to all the patrons in this room. Yet, as she began to move in time with the decadent beat of the music, her eyes stayed transfixed to you marvelling stare.
In an unprecedented display of courage, you beckoned Kylo closer to you, whispering to his ear. “Her. That’s what I really want for my birthday.”

Hi! Sizhuyu shared me your blog and I loved the contents so if you can can you do the juniors but seperate stories if they inhaled aphrosadraic ( or whatever its called ) insense? But it’s a Husband AU :’) . Imagine them being all romantic haha!
I hope you like it!! I don’t do overly nsfw, only heated stuff + alluding to nsfw so I hope this suffices! It’s a husband AU thingie, so they’re all obvi aged up. But for future reference, all the characters I write for will be aged up regardless of the content.
Incense of Desire
“This is… what?” You asked the woman with black hair. She huffed and rolled her emerald eyes before looking at you.
“For the third time, it’s an incense that’ll make your husband swoon over you. All you need to do is light it thirty minutes before he gets home and it’ll work wonders!” You don’t even remember how you’d gotten here, but this seemed pretty interesting. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with your relationship, but to see a side like that seemed exciting nonetheless. It wasn’t costly either. You finally made up your mind and looked at the woman.
“Ok, I’ll buy some.”
Lan Sizhui:
You waited rather impatiently for Sizhui to get home. It had been thirty minutes since you’d lit the incense and it smelled great. It reminded you of roses… but also winter. It didn’t take long for you to hear the door open.
“I’m home!” A voice called out. Your nerves spiked, but you ignored them and put a smile on your face, running to the living room.
“Welcome home!” You gave your husband a hug and a kiss, letting him place his sword down. Recently, he and a few of his friends had been hearing of demonic activity not too far from where you lived. He’d usually be gone at least all day, but always returned at night, even though night was the best time to hunt demons.
“Dinner’s ready! I hope you didn’t eat this time.” He smiled and shook his head.
“No, I remembered. I love your cooking so I didn’t want to miss out on it again.” He sniffed around for a second, which made you a little nervous.
“It smells good. Really good!” He walked past you and you sighed in relief. What were you going to tell him anyway?
He quickly changed out of his clothes and into some clean ones, but when he returned he stopped and stared at you as you got the food ready. You looked back at him and smiled.
“Ah! Just in time, food’s ready.” He didn’t move or speak though, just silently watching your figure move throughout the kitchen. You looked back once more and titled your head. “Everything ok?”
He blinked and nodded before moving. However, instead of moving towards the food, he stopped directly in front of you. Before you could say anything, he’d trapped you against the wall.
“I… I’m sorry… I can’t help myself.” His lips quickly captured yours and you both forgot the food rather immediately.
Lan Jinyi:
“I’m home!” About time! You’d been waiting for well over thirty minutes and you were worried the incense would’ve started affecting you. However, the lady at the shop insisted and promised that it would only affect our husband. How she was so sure, you didn’t know. But you didn’t question it too much… until you were waiting for your husband to come home.
How were you so sure it wasn’t poisoned? The incense could’ve easily killed you and your husband would’ve come home to your corpse. Wasn’t that a bit reckless of you?
“Hey, there you are.” You jumped when you saw your husband’s face inches away from your own. “You ok? Normally, you always greet me when I come home.” You pushed a smile onto your face and nodded.
“I’m ok! I promise! Um… maybe we should go out for a walk!” You suggested, nervously giggling as you stood up. If the incense was indeed poisoned, it would be best to get away now. You’d already inhaled quite a bit of it but you were fine, for now. You’d get checked by a doctor later.
“Why? It’s late, besides didn’t you have a long day? Shouldn’t we just rest?” He asked as he tugged your arm, causing you to fall into his lap.
“Yeah, but I feel like going for a walk! Come on! Pleaseeee!” You said, giving him your best puppy dog eyes. Unable to say no to you, Jingyi nodded.
“Alright, sure.” However, when you tried to stand up, you couldn’t. There was something in his eyes, something you didn’t see often. You settled back in feeling that happy-go-lucky atmosphere melting away as a more intimate one set in. Jingyi leaned in, pulling you closer too. Your lips melded together perfectly and any need to leave the house was immediately quelled.
Jin Ling:
You were excited to see a new side to Jin Ling. The woman had promised there would be no negative side effects to the incense, so you had that assurance. Jin Ling was rather… difficult when it came to romance. Sure, he let you know he loved you on many occasions, but he would always be really shy about it. Sometimes he’d roll his eyes when he told you he loved you.
None of these hurt your feelings, he’d never let that happen. But to see him SWOON over you… that was something that excited you. The incense had been burning for about thirty minutes now and you were just waiting for Jin Ling to get home.
You heard the door open and perked up, trying to hide the mischievous smile on your face. You ran out of your bedroom to greet your husband, giving him a welcoming smile.
“Welcome home!” You giggled, jumping in his arms and giving him a kiss on the cheek. He caught you rather easily and moved to the side, placing the sword on it’s holder.
“Thank you, how were you today?”
“Good! I really missed you!” You pouted, making him huff as he set you down gently.
“Yeah well… I am pretty amazing so it makes sense.” You giggled and shook your head as he walked into the house. He smelled the air, stopping for a second as he felt his head spin. It smelled pretty good, but he’d never expected the incense to give him a headache.
“Are you ok?”
“Yeah… yeah, I’m ok.” He responded as you quickly poured him a cup of water. He took slow and steady sips before looking up at you as you took the cup from him.
“Don’t tell me you overworked yourself today. I told you not to.” He shook his head as his eyes trailed down your form.
“No… you just look really beautiful today.” You paused, feeling your cheeks heat up a little.
“O-oh, thank you.” Before you could even suggest anything, he reached out and gently let his finger brush against your cheek.
“Soft too, did you know your cheeks are soft? Sometimes, I just want to hold them. But then when we make eye contact, it makes my heart beat so fast I get dizzy.” Ok this was definitely the incense working, because Jin Ling wouldn’t just say that out of nowhere.
“I- well thank you. That’s very sweet of you.” You smiled, making him smile as well.
“Oh, now they’re warm. Are you blushing? Because it looks good on you.”
“The blush?” He nodded, leaning in before gently kissing your lips. It was almost tantalizing. Without much of a warning, Jin Ling pushed you down onto the sofa.
“I’m sorry-” He captured your lips once more and you’d never been more grateful for that new incense you bought.
Ouyang Zizhen:
Now why did you buy this incense exactly? There wasn’t anything lacking in your relationship. You’d asked the woman even more questions after you bought it and it was obvious she got annoyed. She still answered all of your questions thoroughly, which is why you were sitting here right now.
The incense had been burning for almost 45 minutes now and you kept thinking about why you’d bought it. Zizhen never hid his emotions from you, he was always rather lovey-dovey. He complimented you whenever he could, told you he loved you, and just showed his emotions often in general.
While you were thinking about opening the windows to get the smell out, the door opened and you heard your husband’s voice come through.
“I’m home!” Well… too late now. You fixed your hair and stood up, going to greet him.
“Welcome home! I missed you!” He smiled brightly as he gave you a hug, placing a kiss on your lips.
“It smells really good in here. Did you buy new incense?” You nodded immediately.
“I did! I thought it might’ve been too much so I was thinking about opening the windows up!” Zizhen shook his head at your words.
“No! It smells great! Wow, you look different. Did you… no your hair is the same, you’re just glowing today.” You blushed at his words, shaking your head.
“That’s sweet of you.”
“I mean it! You look really good today and-” His excitable mood stopped abruptly and you looked up at him, tilting your head.
“Yes?” He was silently staring at your lips, making no effort to move at all. “Are you o-” He interrupted your words with a deep, intense kiss. You couldn’t complain as he easily picked you up, letting you wrap your legs around his waist.
“I… sorry… I just can’t stop.”

Part One | Masterlist
- - - - -
I knew weddings took a lot of planning, but I never realised they took this much. Every single tiny detail requires a decision and more often than not that decision falls on the bride’s shoulders.
Purple or yellow flowers?
Napkins folded as swans or roses?
Which table can we sit Uncle David at where he won’t start a fight?
I try to get Dan involved in the decision making but his response is always the same.
“It’s up to you babe”
Speaking of Daniel, I still haven’t told him we have to meet with the Priest again today. I tried a few times to bring it up but his mood changes instantly. I’ve still got a slight bruise on my wrist from the aftermath of the first meeting, but I keep it covered. I know he didn’t mean to hurt me.
I pull the sleeve of my jumper down over my wrist as I approach Daniel in the kitchen.
“You look nice, where you going today?” He asks as he makes himself a cup of tea.
“Actually…” I take a breath “we’ve got our second meeting with the Priest today”
“What do you mean? We’ve already met him once why do we need to go again?” He doesn’t look as me as he swirls the teabag around in his mug with a spoon.
“It’s just church policy, he has to meet with us a few times before the wedding”
“Well I’m not going”
“Dan-“
“I SAID NO!” He erupts, swiping his mug off the counter so it smashes and tea spills everywhere. He storms out of the kitchen, leaving me stood in the mess he’s made. I stare at it bewildered for a moment as it sinks in what he’s done and I feel my blood start to boil.
“Daniel!” I shout as I follow after him. I find him in the hallway taking his coat off the hook as he heads for the front door “where are you going?”
“Pub”
“Dan, the priest is expecting us in half an hour! Both of us!”
“Then I guess he’s doing to be disappointed. Or not. You two got along just fine the other day, it was almost as if I wasn’t even there”
“We both tried to include you in the conversation multiple times but you just… weren’t present”
“Well then today won’t be any different will it”
He walks out and slams the door behind him.
I stand alone in the hallway for a few minutes taking deep breaths to calm myself before taking out my phone and sending an email.
‘I’m really sorry father but I’m not feeling well so I need to reschedule today’s meeting. Sorry.’
— — — —
45 minutes later.
I clean when I’m stressed. And right now I’m the most stressed I’ve been in my life so I’ve decided to stress clean the whole house. Everything. Apart from the broken mug and spilled tea. Daniel can clean that shit up when he eventually gets back from his sulk.
I’m in the middle of vacuuming the living room when something catches my attention in the corner of my eye. My heart stops for a moment when I turn and see the Priest waving at me through the window.
I turn off the vacuum and open the front door, placing my hand over my chest.
“You startled me!”
“I guess now were even” he laughs awkwardly “I bought you these”
He pulls out a small bouquet of flowers from behind his back.
“Why?” I ask, not meaning to sound as ungrateful as I do, as he hands them to me.
“You said you were ill, I hoped these would cheer you up”
I don't quite know how to react so I end up just staring at him blankly. The truth is I’m speechless. He watches my face and the smile fades from his own.
“You don’t like them. Shit! I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have even come, I’ve overstepped my boundaries.” He rambles
“No! No! I love them I’m just-” I pause as I look down at the flowers in my hand “I think this is the nicest thing anyones ever done for me. No one ever buys me flowers”
“Well they should.”
For some reason I suddenly feel like a shy little school girl. I smile at him and he smiles back.
“Anyway I just wanted to make sure you're okay. Get well soon” he turns and begins walking down the driveway. I think for a moment.
“Father!” I call after him and he spins around to face me “would you like to come in?”
He nods and walks back to me, going past me into the house. I shut the door and gesture for him to go through into the kitchen, forgetting about Daniel’s mess.
“Oops” he says when he sees it “what happened there?”
“Daniel had an accident. He can be really clumsy sometimes” I laugh it off as I busy myself making us some tea.
“Can’t we all” he says, taking a seat at the dining table “will he be joining us?”
“No” I respond, a bit too quickly “he uh, he had to go out. I don't know when he’ll be back”
I carefully carry our cups of tea over to the dining table and take a seat opposite him.
“Never mind. Thank you” he smiles and takes a sip of tea “I actually wanted to talk to you about something without Daniel, if that’s okay?”
“Sure” I shrug, stirring some sugar into my tea.
“I hope you don't take this wrong way but-” he pauses, I can tell he’s nervous to say what he’s going to say next “Are you safe?”
“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?”
“It’s just… I saw what happened in the car park the other day”
“I don't know what you're talking about” I say casually as I remove the spoon from my tea and place it down on the table. The priest reaches over and goes to touch my wrist but I pull it away quickly, instinctively pulling my sleeve down over my hand as his eyes search my own.
“He hurt you, didn’t he?” He asks quietly and I shake my head “I saw the way you held your wrist as you walked away from him Y/N and I could see the bruises just now.”
I can’t bare the way he’s looking at me anymore so I cast my eyes down to the table, but he continues to stare at me.
“Y/N? Talk to me, that’s what I’m here for. If he’s abusive to you-”
“He’s not” I finally speak as I look up at him again “he’s not like that, he’s kind and caring and… he would never intentionally hurt me. I just caught him on a bad day”
“And what about today? With the tea?” He gestures to the shattered mug on the floor “That wasn’t an accident was it? Is that why you cancelled today?”
“No! It’s just the stress of planning a wedding is getting to us both. But we’re fine! Honestly”
I take a breath as I smile at him, but I can see he’s not totally convinced. He looks at me for a moment before speaking.
“Give me your phone” he holds his hand out across the table
“What? Why?”
“I’m giving you my number, no one emails anymore” he jokes “So you can contact me whenever you need a chat, okay? Any time. Well apart from Sunday mornings, cause you know, church.”
“Of course” I smile
“And preferably not late. I’ve been really enjoying going to bed at 9.30 recently” he winks and we both laugh “I’m kidding. Well not about going to bed at 9.30, I do actually do that. But you can call or text me anytime and I will always get back to you. I promise”
He gives me a really sincere smile and I feel a weird flutter in my stomach as I smile back.
— — — —
Almost two hours later the priest is only just getting ready to leave after we got carried away talking. We talked about all sorts. Our childhoods, our hobbies, our fears. He told me about his fear of foxes, and how they’ve apparently stalked him throughout his life. He even told me about his first ever wedding and the drama that surrounded the family. We’ve been talking for so long we didn’t realise its starting to get dark. He opens the front door and steps out just as Daniel comes walking toward the house, I see the anger in his face as he spots the priest.
“What the fuck is he doing here!” He yells as he stomps towards us
“Daniel!” I warn but he ignores me, squaring up to the priest. I try to get between them and smell the stench of booze on him “are you drunk?!”
“So what if I am? Huh? You got a problem with that?” his breath on my face makes me want to gag “cause you know, I got a problem with this asshole being in my house”
“We just had some wedding stuff to discuss but it’s all sorted now so I’m going” the priest tries to diffuse the situation “I’ll see you both soon”
“Like fuck you will” Daniel spits before going into the house.
I mouth “I’m sorry” to the priest and he just shakes his head and smiles at me before leaving.
Back in the house I ignore Daniel’s drunken ranting, going straight to the kitchen to clear away the left over cups of tea. Aggravated that I’m not paying him attention, Daniel follows me into the kitchen. He picks the flowers up from the counter.
“Did he give you these?” He asks but I ignore him, angering him more. He rips the flowers to shreds, dumping them on the floor.
I step over them and I place our mugs next to sink, grab a cloth and some cleaner before going back to wipe down the table. Suddenly a mug flies past me, just missing my face as it smashes against the wall. I slowly turn to look at Daniel and stare him out before I dropping the cloth on the table and walking out. I grab my handbag and throw my jacket around my shoulders as I walk out of the house, slamming the door behind me. Daniel doesn’t dare to follow me, he knows he pushed me too far.
I’ve been walking for about half an hour before I realise, I have no idea where I’m going. I’m just wondering aimlessly, letting my feet carry me wherever they want to go. Eventually I find myself standing outside the church. I place my hand on the wooden doors and pause, contemplating whether to go inside or carry on walking till I find a bar to drink at. To my surprise the doors gently swing open, but theres no one stood behind them. I take this as a sign that I should go in.
As I enter the silent church and walk down the aisle I can’t help but imagine myself here in a few weeks wearing my white dress. I reach the front and turn back to stare out at the empty pews, picturing my friends and family smiling back at me as I stand with the man I’ll spend the rest of my life with.
A thought that used to fill me with excitement, currently filling me with dread.
I grunt with frustration as I flop down to the floor, sitting on the step with my head in my hands. Frustration turns to anger, which turns to sadness and soon I can’t stop the tears rolling down my face. I sit there silently crying until…
“You can’t be in here!”
I look up and wipe my eyes as a very grumpy looking middle aged lady stomps towards me.
“Sorry”
“No ones allowed in at night”
“The door was open, I just presumed-”
“Well it shouldn’t have been and you need to leave” she ushers me back to the doors.
“Okay, I’m going. Sorry!”
“Y/N?” A familiar voice calls and I look back to see the priest emerging from his office “what are you doing here?”
“She’s just leaving Father, I’m sorry for the disturbance” the woman answers
“It’s alright Pam, she can stay”
The woman I now know is Pam looks from the priest to me, then back to the priest again before backing off slightly.
“Okay…” she says slowly, like she suspects something “I’ll just be upstairs if you need me. Goodnight Father”
“Good night Pam” he replies.
She gives me one last look before disappearing out a door. I look at the priest, who just rolls his eyes and laughs as he gestures for me to follow him.
I walk into his office and take a seat.
“So, that was Pam” he says, closing the office door and taking a seat opposite me.
“I gathered” I nod my head “She’s a bit…”
“Insane”
“I was gonna say intense, but yeah” I laugh, feeling self conscious as I notice he’s studying my face. My cheeks are probably still blotchy and eyes blood shot from crying. There’s a small silence before he finally speaks.
“Are you okay?”
I look at him, not sure how to answer.
“Did he hurt you?” He changes the question
“No” I shake my head “but he did break another mug. I’m gonna have to get insurance out on the ones we’ve got left at this rate” I joke but he continues to study my face, before finally jumping up out his chair.
“Do you want a drink? A proper drink. I’ve got some cans of G&T hidden away in here”
He opens a cupboard and grabs a Marks and Spencers plastic bag, pulling out two cans.
“Are you sure you're a priest?” I laugh as he hands me a can “I mean you drink, you swear.. what other rules do you break?”
“I could tell you, but I’d have to kill you”
“Murder too?” I say a bit too loud, flinching as I hear a banging above me
“Oh shit, Pam! She doesn’t like me being loud. Or having fun in general. Let’s go outside”
“What about the foxes?” I tease and he shakes his head at me as he opens the door and gestures me to walk out.
— — — —
We sit on a bench just outside the church overlooking the graveyard and talk for about half an hour before I realise something.
“You know what’s strange?” I say, suddenly changing the subject “This is only really our third time meeting. I haven’t known you for very long at all but when we talk I feel like I’ve known you for years!”
“That is strange” he humours me, taking a sip of his drink
“Our conversations remind me of how Daniel and I used to be. Back when we could talk to each other properly. These days I’m lucky if we don't end up in an argument”
“And you wanna marry this guy?”
“Of course I do” I reply, slightly taken aback by the forwardness of his question “We’ve known each other pretty much our whole lives. We’ve been together so long- I wouldn’t know what to do without him”
“That’s not a reason to stay with someone, especially if they don't make you happy anymore. Being in love with someone and being dependant on them are different things.” He pauses, studying me “Do you love Daniel?”
I stare at him, replaying the question in my mind over and over again.
“Y/N?”
I realise I don’t know the answer and a feeling of panic begins to bubble inside me. I jump up from the seat.
“I have to go”
I quickly begin walking down the path to the front of the church, followed by the Priest who calls after me. I don't stop walking.
“It’s really late, Dan’s probably wondering I am so…”
“Y/N, wait please!”
I stop and turn back to look at him.
“I’m sorry if that was too much, but these are things you need to think seriously about.”
“I know! I will.” I nod and flash him a quick smile “thanks for the drink”
I hold my can up in a ‘cheers’ before turning and continuing my walk back home.
— — — —
As I walk up the driveway of my house I can see Daniel through the window fast asleep on the sofa in front of the tv. I finish the last bit of my drink and hide the can in my handbag as I unlock the front door and sneak into the house. I hang my coat and bag up and slip my shoes off before quietly climbing the stairs and getting into bed.
Laying in bed my mind can’t help but wonder to the Priest. I feel bad for the way the conversation ended. I shouldn’t have freaked out and walked off like that. He just looking out for me.
I grab my phone and send a text.
‘Thanks for not letting Pam kick me out tonight, I really appreciate it. Good night’
I put my phone back on the beside table, not expecting a reply anytime soon because its so late. To my surprise it vibrates almost immediately. I pick it up and read:
‘No problem, here for you anytime! Sleep well x’
A small smile spreads on my face as my eyes fixate on the small ‘x’ at the end of his text. It probably means nothing but I cant help but feel a flutter in my stomach.
The feeling a quickly taken over by dread as I hear footsteps up the stairs. I put my phone back on the table and roll over in bed, making out like I’m asleep. The mattress sinks as Daniel climbs into bed next to me and I feel his breath on the side of my face. At least he doesn’t smell of beer anymore.
“I’m sorry” he whispers as his arm snakes over my waist and he plants a kiss on my cheek “I’m really really sorry”
I turn my head slightly to look up at him, but I don't say anything.
“I shouldn’t have reacted like that. You know what I’m like when I drink”
“That’s no excuse Daniel”
“I know, I know! I’m sorry. I’m going to change, try harder for you. Okay?”
I nod my head, knowing full well its bullshit. He’s said this before, said he’ll be different but the next day he’s always back to his same old self.
“No more shouting. No more lashing out. No more hurting you. I promise.” He plants kisses on my skin with each sentence. “I’m going to be the perfect husband for you and im going to make it up to you. Starting now.”
He kisses down my jaw, to my neck and down my shoulder as he gently pulls me so I’m lying on my back. Then he kisses down my chest and slips under the duvet, kissing all the way down my body till he reaches that place only he has ever been.
I close my eyes, enjoying the pleasure that’s rippling through me as my breathing gets more ragged before I realise…
In my imagination its not my soon to be husband with his head between my legs…
It’s the dark haired, brown eyed man who’s supposed to be marrying us.
Oh my God, I fancy a priest.

Tumblr media
The incessant ticking of the clock was the only thing keeping you sane at the moment. You had ten minutes before he would arrive, ten minutes to pull yourself together, out of a hole you had dug yourself into. Sighing, you took your cup to your kitchen, placing it in the sink and running a hand through your hair.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Time was something that always roped you in. You never had enough, you had too much, you had none. The minutes ticked by as you walked to your bedroom, taking your sweater off.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Was it a sin to feel this way? You had never felt it before, it felt so wrong, yet so right. Every touch was like throwing alcohol on a flame. All it did was help it burn brighter.
Five minutes.
You didn’t want Ten to arrive, you wanted him to stay far away from you. You wanted to never see him again, because every moment you spent with him ate at you, it made your skin crawl. He gave you that momentary high, before you crashed back down to the ground, keeping you roped in.
You kept going back, for that mercurial high, those few hours where you could pretend you had it all, when you could pretend that he was yours, when all you were was a distraction. Stress relief, a girl with no face he gave his attention to.
Why did you keep going back?
A desperation coursed through you as you glanced at your phone, awaiting the text that told you he had arrived. You wanted him to come, you wanted him there with you right now, kissing you, making you forget everything. How could you have ever doubted him? It was Ten after all, the boy you loved. You trusted him with everything you were, you wanted him to be there-
No you didn’t. You wanted him to leave, but god, you wanted him to stay as well, stay with you and never leave.
It was a dangerous game.
He left so fast as well, you would never see him for more than a few hours on end, before he would disappear, only to show up late in the night, apologizing profusely, telling you it was his terrible memory. He told you he loved you, he promised he did.
He remembered everything else, everyone else, but you.
You remembered when you first met Ten, the pretty boy with an even prettier smile, in the pouring rain. He gave you his umbrella and walked away in the rain, his hair matting against his forehead as he smiled at you, assuring you it wasn’t a big deal.
You met him again later by chance, and he smiled at you again. You swore you had never been more entranced by such a simple gesture before. He was in your college, and you had bumped into him on campus. You promised to give his umbrella back the next day,
You didn’t see him the next day, in fact, you didn’t see him for a whole week, yet you carried the umbrella around. It was about more than just the umbrella, you wanted him to give you that smile again, to thank you and smile again.
You finally saw him and finally returned the umbrella, and left, suddenly feeling empty. You had no reason to run into him again, so you decided to forget about him, until you ran into him at a party. From there on, the two of you got closer, until one day he finally kissed you.
You didn’t see him for a week after that.
He came back, and never made any indication he remembered the kiss, in fact he made no mention of it. He would cut you off every time you tried to bring it up, offering to hang out some other time, or talking about something absurd and unrelated.
Finally, he spoke about it, telling you he liked you but didn’t want anything serious. You agreed, assuring him you liked him back. You said it was alright, it was fine if he wasn’t ready for a relationship, you were fine.
From then on, you tolerated it all, the late night calls, his random mood swings, the times he would seemingly disappear for days on end, before returning and kissing you, avoiding your questions and promising to make it up to you.
He loved you after all, he said, he loved you.
He did, right?
Tick. Tock.
You still didn’t know what the two of you were, and it had been months. Months of running around each other, of missing him and having him before losing him again. Maybe he liked playing games with you, maybe he liked the way you broke slowly for him, forgiving him every time.
You loved you after all, you loved him.
Your phones screen lit up, and it was embarrassing, just how fast you clicked on the notification, eyes glossing over as you read the message.
[00:45 am] Ten: I’m here
You swallowed the lump in your throat as you walked to the living room, past the hall and to your main door, right hand gripping the knob. Everything inside you screamed to leave it shut, to stop this game right now. You didn’t want to be a pawn anymore, you wanted to roll the dice, pull a six and win.
And leave.
But he was so close. Even that thought made you shiver, just outside your door was Ten, the boy your loved, the boy you wanted. Just thinking about it set you off, igniting a fire that lay dormant when he wasn’t around. A euphoric flame that you didn’t want extinguished.
You opened the door, holding your breath.
Tick. Tock.
He stood there, looking gorgeous as usual, hair messy, lips red, eyes staring into yours. He had his hands in his pockets, as he held the gaze, taking a step forward and licking his lips.
“Y/n”
All he had done was said your name, but fuck, even that made you want to drag him by his collar inside and kiss him. It sent shivers down your spine, and even if it was well past midnight, you felt alert and awake, buzzing with energy only he gave you. That short lived adrenaline shot.
“Ten”
You sounded breathless, and he hadn’t even done anything. He stepped inside your house and shut the door for you, looking back at your expectant eyes, before leaning forward and capturing your lips in an intoxicating kiss.
Your hands quickly found their way to his hair, his hands found your waist pulling you closer. Tugging slightly at the hair at the base, you tilted your head, staggering back as he followed.
The game had begun.
Fuck he was right there, you were in his arms as he kissed you. You felt that flame light again, burning brightly with fury. You hated the way you liked it, the way you wanted it to never stop. The sparks jumped brighter, but you weren’t so sure it was a good thing.
You hated the fact you left yourself go through the same thing again and again, the same excruciating pain, just for a few moments of happiness. When he came around, you forgot all the hatred you held, you only remembered that he was there.
Stop, please stop, you thought, before your mind did a full one-eighty flip, pulling him closer. Ten pulled away, pushing you against the wall before he kissed you again. Your fingers fisted the ends of shirt as his lips trailed down to your jaw, leaving butterfly kisses all along it. They travelled down to your neck, and you were lost.
Lost in between kisses and touches, trapped within your own mind wasted. It was so wrong, but it felt so, so right. You didn’t know how to stop, you were utterly lost to him. You felt yourself going dizzy, you couldn’t think straight.
This wasn’t how love was supposed to be right?
At first it was wonderful, you would get those first crush butterflies, you would feel giddy every time he was around, every time he kissed you, Now even the thought of Ten filled you with dread, a dread that would pool in the pit of your stomach, until it was replaced with wanting him.
It was a rush, pulling him closer, only to lose him again, why the fuck did you still want this?
He cupped your face, kissing you once again, before pulling away. His half lidded eyes stared back at you. You wanted to follow him, and kiss him again, but you waited. He pulled you along with him to your bedroom, he pulled you along like a puppet like he always did.
You were attached as he strung you along, and the ironic thing was the fact he had asked for a no strings attached relationship. Correction: he asked for no relationship at all.
Every kiss burnt, setting your skin alight. It was painful against your lips. It was messy, it hurt, and it was wrong. You shouldn’t enjoy it, you shouldn’t want him, but you did, fuck you wanted him all the time. You wanted him to be yours.
“I’m sorry”, he whispered against your lips. He sounded genuine, like he meant it, but it was all a lie. You knew how things would go, he would come along, he would apologize, he would promise he loved you, and he would leave, leaving you empty.
He would light you on fire, and leave you to burn out.
Of course you forgave him, you always forgave him, because you didn’t want him to leave. Because you hoped that one day he would come back for you, and he would stay. You still held onto that foolish hope that the initial feeling of happiness would come back to you.
That flushed feeling of butterflies, the giddiness, the giggling and late night talks. You wanted the Ten you had met before back, but you wanted the Ten you knew right now as well. You wanted it all.
You would end up with nothing, you knew.
You were greedy, but you didn’t care. You still wanted everything you could have, even if it was only for a moment. You let yourself get lost in him, lost to him like a moth drawn to a flame.
Make me forget, you thought, make me forget you. You couldn’t forget him even if you tried. You loved him, didn’t you?
“It’s okay”, you said in between kisses, as his lips trailed down your skin, searing hot.
Maybe you weren’t in love with him, you were in love with the idea of having him. You were in love with his smile, his eyes, the way he spoke. You were in love with the memories you had, and you held onto them.
You sometimes wondered what you would be like if you had never met him. If you hadn’t been out there in the rain that day, if you were still oblivious to Ten’s existence and everything about him, his pretty smile, his dark eyes. Everything that you loved about him.
Your love was tainted, but you believed it was beautiful in it’s own dark, twisted way. Maybe it was a fairytale told by wronged side, the side of the story that no one liked. You hated it too, but you couldn’t stop it. You lived for that tainted beauty.
All fairytales came to an end at one point, but this one never had one. It was a cycle, the same thing over and over. You were afraid of the end, knowing it wouldn’t be a happy one. It had no chance to be.
His tongue swiped your lower lip dangerously, asking for permission. you nodded weakly, wrapping your arms around his neck, basking in the familiarity of the situation. The flame inside you burst out, angry and wanting. You let yourself fade away in his arms, mind going blank.
He ignited you once again, only to leave by the end of it, a dying fire left behind.
After all, fires were meant to be extinguished.

Sinful Sunday!
AN: Nothing much to put here other than I am sorry I didn't do ships last night like I thought, I ended up babysitting later than I thought I would and I had to finish these two thots up. Other than that enjoy!
Sinful Sunday Masterlist
Pairings: Modern!Boba Fett x College Student!Reader, Merman!Din Djarin x Lighthouse Keeper!Reader
Modern!Boba Fett x Reader
We got another sexy Boba THOT babes, but be warned this does really highlight the older male x younger female relationship, mostly because this one is purely self indulgent. So I guess, warning older Boba and reader in college....
The first you had met Boba is when some average Chad had started annoying you at a popular bar among college students. You had tried everything to get him to leave you alone, to the point of turning your back on him, which was obviously a mistake when you felt his hand slither along your waist and attempt to grope you. But he was stopped short when he was ripped away from you by none other than Boba himself, who immediately shoved him out of the bar, before returning to you to ask if you were alright, and to tell the bartender to put your drinks on his tab, with a secretive chuckle. You didn't know it then, but Boba was the owner of the bar. And you also weren't expecting for that one time thing to turn into you taking him home a year later on spring break to meet your parents. You were nervous at how your parents would react to the age difference, but things had gone over well, and Boba quickly won over both of your parents much to your glee.
But Boba was devious, and you shouldn't have expected more. So when the two of you had down time you found yourself sitting on your bed between his legs leaning against his chest while watching a movie on your laptop, as you parents sat doing the same, just a wall away.
When you felt Boba's hands wandering, you didn't think much of it at first, but then you felt his touches increasingly become more and more sure in their paths and his lips grazing your neck and up to your ear. Giving out a small whine when he brushes over your breast and gave it a squeeze he whispers huskilu in your ear, "Lets test how quiet you can be little one. Let's see if I can make you cum without your parents catching on, hmmm? How does that sound princess?"
Whinpering quietly as Boba presses his hand against you through both you panties and sweat pants, you bucked your hips up giving him the confirmation he wanted. Boba wasted no time at all in diving his hand underneath both you underwear and sweats and going straight for the spot he knows makes you scream with his thick fingers. It took everything in you not to shout at the immediate pleasure he thrust upon you and you could do nothing to cover up the gasp you released when he dug his palm into your clit making your eyes roll back in pleasure.
"Oh little one, you better be quiet or someone is going to realize what I am doing to you," he chuckles as he kisses your neck and just continues with his absolute torturous onslaught of pleasure. Biting your lip you throw your head back onto his shoulder as your orgasm starts approaching you quickly and you whimper out his name softly before biting your lip.
Boba just shoves his spare hand up your shirt and into your bra to play with your breast as he starts to slam his fingers into that spot hard, over and over and over ond over, until you can't tell which way is up and which way is down. You grip his forearm and start bucking your hips up into his hand making your clit rub against his palm even more, and before you know it your orgasm is washing over you as Boba continues to press you through it.
When you finally come down from the height of pleasure Boba thrust you into, you found him lacking his fingers clean with a groan, saying, "Such a good girl for me princess. For being so quiet and good, tonight I will reward you with my cock."
Merman!Din Djarin x Reader
Okay, @moodsworks you did this to me with the perfect and cute Merman!Din drawing you posted because I cant stop thinking about it. (Also im tagging you because I thought you may like to read it 🥺👉👈) oh and I don't know the first thing that comes to lighthouses and upkeep so don't come for me lol....
Living in and working the lighthouse could be lonely at times, but you enjoyed the solitude and privacy that came with living at least 45 minutes from the closest town. Not that the people of said town were in anyway rude to you, infact when you first moved into your job as lighthouse keeper they had welcomed you with open arms and thanked you for filling the position. Many of the women in town had husbands that worked on boats that sailed and fished in the area and when you came to town they always made sure you had everything you needed at a very large discount that you fought everytime, but was secretly thankful for considering your pay wasn't exactly the best and mainly went towards other needs you had for the lighthouse.
You took two monthly trips to town, and both times you would leave early enough that you could go and have a warm breakfast at the small diner just on the edge of town. Every time you walked through the doors you were always met with the largest table in the building-- which honestly only sat 10 to 12 people -- full of the older couples in town having coffee and gossiping about the town. The first morning you had stumbled into the small restaurant at this early time they had invited you to join them and you had kindly accepted. They all had pitched in to pay for your food which you thanked them profusely for, and they chatted with you as you ate. They each took turns being nosey and asking questions about you, but you didn't feel the need to hide so you answered each question honestly. Then, one of the eldest women at the table turned to you and asked, "Have you heard the rumors or tales of that lighthouse, darling?"
When you only shook your head she grinned and continued, "Well, the legend here in town is that the place is haunted by sea creatures of the nefarious kind. They say that those beasts constantly sabotage and wreak havoc constantly on that lighthouse, and that they are the reason no keepers stay at that post for longer than a year."
You had only smiled and shook your head in response with a small chuckle, quickly dismissing the superstitions away. You had already been there a month and nothing odd other than thick fogs had happened.
You had been there three months by the time you started hearing the odd splashes at night, splashes that certainly didn't sound like the waves crashing on rocks. You had dismissed it again thinking it to be the migrating whales that you were told come through this time of year.
It would only be a few weeks later that your next curiosity would happen. This time you were up looking out the windows at the very top of the lighthouse watching as the sun was setting. You had just turned to leave, when out of the corner of your eye you saw a large figure jump from the water. Whipping your head around the creature had already disappeared back into the water. You waited and watched the water for a few minutes, confused  and curious because whatever it had been had been too small for a whale. It was more of the size and shape of a dolphin, though longer than one? When nothing appeared again you shook your head and went down into the lighthouse just assuming the solitude was playing tricks on your mind.
By the time the next oddity started happening you had completely forgotten about the other two, and almost three months had passed. This time it sounded as if rocks were being thrown that the lighthouse at night, and hard. The next morning when you had gone to investigate you had been shocked and angered when you found softball sized rocks scattered around and the red paint chipped and ruined along the side of the lighthouse base. You had marched inside and searched for the paint in order to fix the damage and made plans to go to the town tomorrow and ask about, assuming it was just rebellious teenagers. It took all day to find and paint over the spots, while stopping for water breaks because of the heat that was beating down onto you. When you finally went to bed that night you were satisfied with your handiwork and ready to hit the hay, expecting to be up early in the morning for a trip to town. Only you were woken up later, much later, by the sound of rocks being flung at the lighthouse again. Angered, you checked the time, seeing it was 3 am, before running outside to catch the culprit red handed, only to make short eye contact with what you swore was a human head that had quickly disappeared under the water just as quickly as you had spotted it. In a daze you had walked back into the building trying to wrap your head around what you had seen. The next morning you had gone to town, and just brushed off what you had seen the night before as just a dream. You had gotten up later than you had wanted, so when you made your trip to town you had completely skipped the diner and headed straight to the farmers market that you knew was open on the town square. You had purchased a few items and stuck them in the large bag you carried, and was walking away from a stall when you ran into the elderly woman again. She had smiled and asked to walk with you and you had tiredly agreed. She had completely shocked you when she spoke up as the two of you were at a stall looking through some homemade breads.
"The incidents have started, haven't they? The odd noises and little damages around the place? I can tell by just how tired you look darling." Speechless you had only gaped at her, shocked when she looked up and smiled at you before laughing and saying, "Oh hun, you can't live as long as I have here without picking up a thing or two. And since I like you, I'll give you a small tip, leaving lobster and clams out on the rocks always seem to calm the creature down, but never leave oysters, they do NOT like those," she finished with a chuckle. The two of walked in silence to the next couple of stalls and on the last one, which coincidentally was the fish stall, the woman paid for your items with a mischievous smile when she noticed that your items included several clams and a singular lobster.
That evening you left the lobster on the large flat rock that hung over into the water, before going inside to do your chores before bed. For the first night in a couple of days, you slept completely through the night and woke up fully rested early the next morning. When you had done a survey of the water looking for anything unusual you had noticed the lobster was still there, but it was only the shell which was ripped to pieces.
After that night, you started continuously leave some kind of offering out on the rocks for whatever creature had been troubling you, and it seemed to work whatever creature had been bothering you before had seemed to be sated with your offerings.
This went on for months, and before you knew it the weather was turning colder and the that meant snow storms and more late nights watching for ships. You didn't mind it at first, and honestly it just peaked your curiosity thinking you might catch the culprit you had been leaving offerings for. But as the nights went on you found that whatever it was knew when you were watching and only came for the offerings when you left your post for quick breaks, like going to the bathroom or refilling your mug with your hot drink of the night.
Then one night you were shocked out of the slight doze you had fallen into by a shout. Panicked you stood when you heard the deep voice again and looked around to see where the sounds was coming from, and that is when you spotted a dark figure out on the flat rock holding something small in his arms. Hurriedly you rushed down the stairs and grabbed your lamp before rushing out to the rock where the figure was shouting. You still look back and wonder how you didn't slip and crack your head with how fast you ran out there, let alone how you ran out there without thinking of the dangers. But in the moment you could only register the helplessness that sounded in the deep voice that kept shouting until you came into sight. You had only taken a second to be taken aback by the man...merman? You couldn't see all of him but from the quick, and confusing, glance you took of him showed his curling wet deep brown hair and eyes and scales shimmering in a steely silver color. But you didn't focus on him long when you notice the small green shape curled in his lap, the small creature clearly injured and it broke your heart when it let out a pained whimper as it lifted its tiny head to look at you. You were broken from the tiny creatures gaze by the man speaking up, "He's injured, can you help?"
You only took a second to take in the way his eyes shined in the lamp light, before you took a step closer you watched the man tense and wrap his arm around the small injured creature defensively, so you cautiously raised a hand and said soothingly, "Please, I do want to help, but I need to get closer to get a better look him..." You waited for the man to relax a little before you took another step forward, and then another and you slowly approached him before kneeling before him and holding your hands out asking, "May I?"
Reluctantly he pulled his arms away and you reached forward. It didn't take long to find the deep gash along his tiny arm. Carefully you looked up at the man, who was staring at you closely watching your every move. Taking a deep breath you looked him in the eye said said, "I can help him, I have first aid training enough to fix injuries like this......." then you trailed off knowing he would not like what you would say next. Then you watched his eyes narrow and study you as he asked, "But?"
Gulping, you sigh and respond, "But I need to take him to the lighthouse where all my supplies are and where it is light enough that I can see what I am doing.... Also for an injury like this, I will need to watch him for at least a week, just to make sure everything heals right."
The man watched you for a few seconds, before slowly saying, "But you can help him?" When you nod in response he carefully hands the small creature to you and as you stand and go to grab your lamp, you turn to him and ask a question, only to find him struggling to pull himself onto the rock completely to, you can only assume, follow you.
"What in the world are you doing?!"
"Where ever I go he goes, and where ever he goes, I go," he grunted out as he strained and pulled his long body to follow you. Sighing in exasperation as well as concern, you blurted out, "Listen, let me go get him situated and stabilized. Then I can come by with my car so you aren't dragging yourself, and most likely injuring yourself." He was hesitant, but he agreed after glancing at the small being in your arms. So after throwing him a quick, I'll be right back, you rushed back to the lighthouse.
Once inside you gently laid the small injured creature softly on the kitchen towels that you had folded earlier and had not put away. Then you ran to grab the large red first aid box from under the bed before returning. Inside you quickly grabbed everything you needed and quickly set to work. You worked quickly and carefully, and it felt like no time before you had the wound sutured back together. Not wanting to leave what you could only assume to be a sleeping, injured infant on the counter you reached over to your sink and filled it with warm water and added sea salt, before carefully lowering the child into the water. Once you confirmed that the young creature was okay and peacefully asleep you ran to your car and drove it as close to the rock as possible, only to find the merman clenching his jaw and dragging himself along the small pathway. When you jumped out of the car you leant down to help him while chastising him.
"I told you to wait, what would you have done if you injured yourself?"
"You took too long."
Hearing the finality in his voice, and also the concern, you let it go and quietly helped pull him into the back of your car.
Once again back at the lighthouse, you told him to wait while you went and got something. When you returned you had a large blanket, which you laid on the ground and told him to lay on, because it you make it easier to pull him inside. Grunting he did as told, and while it took you awhile to pull his weight, once you were on the slick floors of the lighthouse, you were able to get him to the kitchen in no time to show him...his child?
You let them be for a second ad you put the blanket away, but as you watched the man's face calm down after seeing g with his own eyes that the young child was safe and taken care of. When he heard you reenter the kitchen he slumped to the floor and whisper, "Thank you, we had no where else to go, and you have always treated us kindly so you were the only one I could think of to help."
"It was nothing, I am glad I could help. But... what do you mean by kind to you? This is the first time we have met?"
He then looked you in the eye and said, "But you leave us food, even after he wrecked the red flakes on your home."
"Well I feel bad now, because I was only leaving a little food out there. There us no way it is enough for both of you!"
"It has always been enough for Grogu, and that is all I can ask for."
"Wait, are you hungry? I have tones of clams if you are, and from the looks of it, Grogu?" you ask hesitantly only for him to nod, "will be asleep for awhile, if you would like to eat and rest?"
He sits there for a minute before saying, "It has been a long day...."
Smiling, you go to the fridge and pull out a large bowl of clams that you sit next to him before taking a seat across from him on the floor.
" If those aren't enough, I have more in the freezer that I can thaw out for you?"
He shook his head and replied, "This is plenty, thank you."
You sat in silence as he broke open and ate his food for a few minutes before you spoke up again, "Sorry to interrupt your meal, but I know what to call your little one, but do you have a name you would like me to call you?"
You watched his Adam's apple bob as he swallowed, and then he looked you in the eye and said, "My name is Din....but I must ask you to only use it when we are alone."
Nodding you smiled and waited for him to finish eating, but once he got halfway through the bowl your brain finally caught up to the confession he had given earlier.
"Wait a second. Grogu? That small little creature? HE through those stones at my lighthouse?! How?!"

Don’t - Tyson Jost
Tumblr media
AN: this has been in my notes for like 6-7 months now I hope you enjoy! It’s based if the song don’t by Ed Sheeran.
Warnings: cheating and a mention of sex nothing detailed at all.
Word count: 1.9k
I met this girl late last year
She said, “Don’t you worry if I disappear”
“Yes.” That's the response Layla whispered in Tyson’s ear after he asked her to spend the night with him. As he planted more open mouth kisses to her neck, Tyson could feel her breath quicken and her plus racing up.
Tyson wasn't expecting to be taken back by the stunning brunette with green eyes who he locked eye contact with as she was busy dancing in the corner with her girlfriends when he went to the local bar Monday night with the boys for a simple night of relaxing. When they bumped into one other at the counter and she introduced herself to him while grabbing a drink, he wasn't expecting his heart to race a little quicker. He hadn't expected to be bringing her home at the end of the night, yet here he was, holding her hand as they climbed into the car he had booked for them.
What Tyson really wasn't prepared for was the sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach when he woke up to an empty bed and a piece of paper on his nightstand with only 11 numbers scribbled on it.
I told her I’m not really looking for another mistake
I called an old friend thinking that the trouble would wait.
Tyson realized he should've tossed the little letter away as soon as he got off the phone with JT who reminded him to think with his head and recommend throwing it away. But Tyson, on the other hand, was always one to follow his emotions rather than his mind or gut instincts. After all, he was known as a softy for a reason. His head was telling him that he should simply toss the paper away since it was just going to cause him misery. His emotions, on the other hand, were reminding him of how he felt last night when he made eye contact with her. They were reminding him of how his heart raced and how he felt a nervous pulse in his stomach for the first time in a long time.
So, four mornings after waking up to an empty bed, he decided to take the plunge and message her. He realized that texting her at 11:00 a.m. would not lead her to believe it was a booty call. Tyson opted to keep it short and sweet, only saying, "Hey, how are you?" And before he could back out, he sent the message, not realizing how drastically those four words would impact his year.
It was 10:45 p.m., according to the clock. Tyson had become increasingly nervous as Layla had yet to reply. He was thinking to himself, what if he had waited too long, what if she had just left the note out of kindness and didn't mean it? But his phone vibrated in his hand just as he was about to turn it off and put it away for the night. And there was a text message from Layla on his phone screen, saying, "I'm okay, what's up?" “Have you finally missed me enough to send a text?” Tyson felt the blood rush to his checks at that moment, as he hoped she didn't realize how long he had been waiting, but she did. Tyson decided to make up for the fact that he hadn't spoken to her in four days, so he spent the rest of the night getting to know the lovely woman he thought had a good heart.
But then I jumped right in a week later, returned
I reckon she was only looking for a lover to burn
Tyson decided to invite Layla over after about a week of talking with her through his phone and tossing the idea around in his head. He had all of the spare time in the world before heading to Alberta since the Avs season had just ended.
Tyson had discovered recently she was a CU Denver student. So when they agreed on a Saturday, Tyson realized she wouldn't have classes, so he wouldn't have to worry about her cancelling, but he was still worried that she wouldn't actually show up. When a soft knock came to his door around 1:00 p.m., those nerves faded.
When Tyson awoke to an empty bed on the Tuesday morning he was supposed to leave for home, he wasn't surprised. Tyson found himself going to bed with someone and waking up alone more often after that Saturday afternoon spent with Layla at his place.
Then I put it on pause until the moment was right
I went away for months until our paths crossed again
After waking up alone on that Tuesday morning when he had to leave, Tyson wanted to put some space between himself and the situation. Tyson knew that if he went down that particular road with Layla, his heart wouldn't be able to heal if anything bad happened. Tyson tried not to think about her during his time in Alberta, but it became more difficult with each passing day. Tyson found his feelings growing towards her each day. He found himself thinking about her at odd times throughout the day, hanging with his family? Layla. Sitting around the fire pit? Layla. in bed right before he closed his eyes? Layla. She was an addiction, the kind you get when you try a new treat and can't stop thinking about it.
Tyson promised himself he wouldn't message her again until he returned to Colorado, and he kept his word. He'd been back in the city for about three weeks before he decided to pick up where they'd left off.
She told me, "I was never looking for a friend
Maybe you could swing by my room around ten
Baby, bring the lemon and a bottle of gin
We'll be in between the sheets 'til the late AM"
After several late-night phone calls to catch up, Layla eventually told Tyson what this meant to her after he invited her to dinner. “Around 1:00 a.m. on a Monday morning, she muttered to him, "I'm more into the friends with benefits situation right now." Tyson was definitely devastated but he was willing to take whatever Layla had to offer.
Tyson was unprepared for the feeling he got when he glanced down at his phone after leaving JT’s apartment to see a text that said, "baby, I'm swinging by your place with a bottle." Tyson knew that meant he'd wake up alone in the morning, yet he didn't care at the time.
Tyson and Layla had been seeing each other more and more in recent weeks. Tyson’s feelings for Layla became stronger over time, but he never expressed them. He just loved her company, and if that meant getting lost in the sheets more often than not, so be it.
And for a couple weeks I only wanna see her
We drink away the days with a takeaway pizza
Tyson was in a slump, he wasn't producing on the ice as he wanted to, and the media was branding him a draft bust because of it. As a result, he found himself blocking others out, with the exception of one individual. Tyson discovered that Layla was the only one he truly wished to be with. She didn't mention hockey at all, because they could easily lose themselves in each other and block out the rest of the world. They'd eat as much takeout pizza as Tyson's diet permitted.
Yet something changed between them in those few weeks. Layla confessed to developing feelings for the curly-haired boy. As a result, they opted not to label what they were doing, but they did promise not to see other people. Not that Tyson was doing so before.
Wish I'd have written it down, the way that things played out
When she was kissing him, how I was confused about
Now she should figure it out.
Tyson should have known something was wrong when Layla started staying at school longer than usual, but he didn't think much of it, assuming it was just finals. Tyson should have known something was wrong because she took longer to respond to his text messages and began avoiding his phone calls, but he was so wrapped up in the feeling she gave him that he didn't notice. When Layla failed to pick him up from the airport on Sunday morning, Tyson should have known something was wrong, but he just convinced himself she slept in.
But two things happened when the car he ordered from the airport arrived in front of Layla's apartment and he saw her kissing the kid from her biology class: one, Tyson's heart dropped to the bottom of his stomach, and two, something clicked and everything made sense to him.
That afternoon, at Tysons' place, he had to have a conversation he would never forget .Layla explained that she genuinely wanted to be with him and that she was just messing around with Tyler, the name of the kid from biology, because she wanted to be official with Tyson. And in a relationship, she puts a significant importance on trust and respect.
So they agreed to become an official couple that day, and the eight weeks that followed were some of the happiest memories Tyson had managed to make.Tyson grew more and more in love with Layla with each passing day, and he indulged in it. He treasured the cuddles and long conversations late at night. Tyson was certain he was in love with Layla, or Ly as he began to refer to her. He was about to reveal her to the group of people in his life that he held in high regard: his teammates.
She was crying on my shoulder, I already told ya
Trust and respect is what we do this for
I never intended to be next
But you didn't need to take him to bed, that's all
And I never saw him as a threat
Until you disappeared with him to have sex, of course
Tyson wasn't expecting to see Layla on the sofa on top of Tyler from biology when he stepped into Layla's apartment on the morning of the 23rd, three days before their three-month anniversary, ready to celebrate because he'd be on the road. But that is precisely what he saw.
Layla didn't know she'd been caught until the beautiful white roses fell to the ground and the door slammed shut  from behind her.
As the knock on Tyson's door rang through the silent apartment, Tyson knew that all that had occurred in the previous year, his best days, and the one person  he could turn too would all be gone in less than 20 minutes.
Tyson had never expected to have a conversation like this one in his dark, relatively clean apartment. When Layla cried on his shoulder, he reminded her of their compromise on trust and respect, telling her, "If you were unhappy, you should have left, I never saw him as a threat, well, before you slept with him of course."
But after all of the screaming and pleading, Layla gathered her belongings and closed the door to Tyson's apartment; the sound that echoed in the house was almost close to Tyson's heart beating in his chest.
As Tyson came into the dressing room the next morning, feeling dishevelled, he grumbled to JT that he should have just thrown it out.

The Green Dress (A Story About Loki)  Chapter 4 : A God’s Lips
RE-UPLOAD - Last upload was missing some parts, my bad!!
Warnings : Explicit (18+)
It’s early in the morning, way earlier than you usually wake up. You barely slept last night; nerves, anticipation, fear even, just twisting your insides and preventing you from getting any kind of rest. You know you’ll eventually have to get up and get ready for work but, you’re just lying in bed, still shell-shocked at the conversation you had with Loki last night.
After receiving his email, you had sat in the shower, letting the hot water hit your skin, for what seemed like hours. Had Loki just asked you on a date? That… That meant he wanted to see you again, he thought of you just as much as you thought of him. He craved your presence just as much as you craved his. You had revelled in the thought of being important to someone like him, a literal god. Finally, you had gathered all of your strength to get out of the shower, grab your phone and sit on your bed to reply to his email. You felt it impersonal to accept an invitation to a date over email and had decided to give him your phone number instead, offering him the option to call you. Within minutes, your phone rang. Heart pounding and hands shaking, you had answered his call. The sound of his soft, deep voice through the phone made you shiver and instantly soak. You wanted him, you needed him. Your conversation, although brief, had been wonderful. You both had agreed that you would be making dinner, and he was to meet you at your apartment at 6 o’clock. You could barely utter a word when he wished you goodnight and sweet dreams before hanging up. You had laid back on your bed, trying to catch your breath. You had just invited a god to have dinner in your home. It wasn’t just any god, it was Loki. Loki who had kissed you with such passion, it had left you weak in the knees for days. Loki who, by only speaking, could make you so incredibly wet. You had slid a hand down your body, imagining it was his hand instead of yours, grabbing your breast, rubbing tight circles on your clit. It didn’t take long for the orgasm to rip, burning hot, through your entire body, making you spasm in pleasure as his sultry voice still rang in your ears, and you had to bite down on your pillow to muffle the loud moan that escaped your lips as you came.
As you lie there thinking about last night, you tell yourself it’s only a couple of hours before you get to see him again. Jumping out of bed, newfound energy bursting through your veins, you get ready in a flash, speeding through breakfast and cleaning up. You call yourself a taxi and get to school way too early, eager to start your day. As promised, your car is waiting for you in the parking lot, however, you see Nat getting out of it as you start walking to the school entrance.
“You’re here early”, she says as she catches up to you, following you inside. There were usually no visitors allowed unless the principal approves it, but since the school is funded by Tony and that Natasha is an Avenger, they never had a problem with her coming in before or after classes. Regardless, she never came during school hours, knowing her presence would be a distraction for the kids.
“Yeah, I could really sleep last night,” you say with a smirk.
“Oh…” She says, intrigued. “Oh, I know that face! What happened?!” She then presses you.
“Well….”, you tease, walking into your classroom. “Loki emailed me last night to ask if we could have dinner tonight.” Nat’s mouth falls open as she hops on your desk, her usual spot to sit.
“Did you say yes?” She asks.
“Yeah, he’s coming over tonight. I’m making him dinner.”
“Holy fuck, you’re joking!” Natasha screams so loud, you have to shush her. “You’re having dinner with Loki Laufeyson TONIGHT.”
“I know, I know. Be careful, he’s the god of mischief,” you say, mimicking her.
“Oh, well yeah obviously! I’ll have my phone with me if there’s any problem, just use the emergency button.” She reminds me. “But I meant you’re having dinner with the man who pinned you against a wall four days ago and kissed you like you’ve never been kissed before. The same man you told me you could not stop thinking about.”
“Yeah,” you whisper, your face turning red.
“Are you excited?”
“I’m nervous! I haven’t been on a first date in almost a year Nat! What if he doesn’t like me anymore in the end? There’s something different about him and it terrifies me. If you think about it, I’m just a simple mortal.” You tell her.
“Please, you’ll be just fine. Loki seems very interested in you.” She reassures you. “And you know, I was thinking last night… Loki has been good for a while now… maybe being with you would really change him. I know I have some preconceived notions about him, but everyone is allowed a second chance. I was, so was Bucky and Bruce too…” She trails off. Talking about him was still a sore subject. Bruce had been missing since Sokovia and it had left a gaping hole in our hearts, especially Nats. Over the years, you had watched their relationship slowly flourish, they were quietly flirting and often seeing each other in secret. He was the first man she ever let get herself get close to, and he cared so deeply about her and was terrified of ever losing her. And when he never came back, and when no one could find the Quinjet, Natasha could barely leave her bed. Getting her back on her feet was one of the hardest things you had ever done.
“Hey,” you whisper, wrapping your arms around her, rubbing her back.
“He’ll come back when he’s ready, just give him time.”
“I know,” she says, hugging you back. “I just miss him.” We all did.
You stay like that, holding each other in silence for a while.
“I should go,” Nat says, hopping off your desk. “You call me tonight if there’s anything, right?” She adds, looking you in the eyes.
“Yeah, of course! How are you getting back?” You ask.
“Sam is picking me up, he’s on his way now,” she replies, checking her phone.
“Say hi for me! I’ll call you later ok?”
“Will do! Keep me posted. Love you, bye!” Nat yells as she walks out. You giggle to yourself, unpacking your stuff and getting ready for the day, Tuesdays are your favorites.
The day flew by so fast, it left you a little dizzy. Your students left a while ago and you were finally done cleaning up the mess of the day. You look down at your jeans and there are some mud stains all over them, the WWII reenactment of the day having left its mark. Nonetheless, your students enjoyed it, and you tell yourself to add the activity to the memory board you have in class. As you glance in its direction, you see that the clock above is showing 3:45, and you panic. You didn’t realize how long you had spent cleaning.
You pack up your things as fast as you can, almost running to your car. You need to get home quickly, Loki is coming over in two hours, and you have to make dinner and get ready. You desperately need a shower after running around outside in the mix of snow and mud all day.
Getting home in record time, you drop your bags by your desk. Running to your bathroom as you throw your hair in a bun, you take the fastest shower you’ve ever taken, scrubbing down as quick as you can. Thank heavens you had washed your hair the night prior. Once you get out, you check your makeup for any touch-ups and add a small line of liner and lip gloss. Shaking your hair out of its bun, you like the way it looks and decide to leave it as is. Still wrapped up in your towel, you make your way to the kitchen to start prepping the food that needs to begin cooking immediately. You get everything else out and organize your kitchen. Again, you thank your lucky star that you’re a neat person and you don’t need to clean your apartment before Loki gets here. With most of the dinner cooking, you head to your bedroom to get dressed. Opting for black lace underwear, you open your closet and sigh loudly. What are you going to wear? Why hadn’t you picked out an outfit this morning? You had all the time in the world to get ready? Grabbing your favorite pair of light jeans, skin-tight and which do wonders for your ass, you start browsing through your shirts to find something… anything. You suddenly hear something bubbling and grab an old band shirt you usually sleep in, slipping that on before running to the kitchen to make sure nothing is burnt to a crisp. You’re not the best cook in the world but you can manage to whip up a couple of great meals. Thankfully, nothing was burning, but there were a lot of dishes to take care of.
You were washing the last bowl when you heard the building’s buzzer ringing. Your head whipped around towards the digital clock on your microwave to see it showing 6 pm on the dot. SHIT! You didn’t see the time fly by, and Loki was already here AND you were not even dressed. Shit, shit, shit, shit… Ok, it’s ok. You walk over to the intercom and buzz him in. A little time goes by and you hear a shy knock against your door, making your heart almost jump out of its cavity with how fast and hard it’s beating. Hand on the door handle, you take a deep breath before opening the door.
There he was, standing in front of you, handsome, beautiful as ever. His dark hair combed back, as it was last time you saw him, his green eyes sparkling with joy, his devastatingly stunning smile. He was there. Right in front of you.
“Hi,” Loki says, his smile widening. “These are for you”, he adds, handing you a bouquet of white and pink lilies.
You gasp. “Oh thank you. How did you know lilies are one of my favorite flowers?”
“I guessed, a very fortunate guess as it turns out to be.” You think you might as well die, combust on-site, from how warm he makes you feel.
“They’re beautiful, thank you so much.” You repeat. “Please come in! I’m so sorry I’m not dressed yet, I just finished the dishes.” You apologize, cheeks burning red as he steps to stand in front of you in the entrance.
“I think you look perfect,” he whispers, stroking your cheek slowly. You sigh in content, eyes closing, as soon as you feel his skin against yours, unknowingly leaning into his hand. You both stand there, taking in each other’s presence, for what seems like hours.
“Let me take your coat,” you whisper softly, looking up at him.
“It’s ok darling, get those flowers in some water,” Loki whispers back, your knees buckling under the weight of the nickname.
You slowly nod against his hand still on your face and regretfully make your way to the kitchen, Loki following closely behind. He takes off his coat and hangs it on the back of one of the barstools, as you’re putting the flowers in a vase. Pretending to be focused on the flowers, you let your eyes wander his body, starting from his thighs - the rest being cut off by the counter -, up his waist, stomach, broad shoulders, arms, and back up to his gorgeous lips you crave to kiss, his nose you want to feel nuzzled in the crook of your neck, and his eyes… your own forest you’d run through forever. How could one being be so beautiful? Loki was breathtakingly beautiful, tearing your eyes away from his face was a strenuous feat. Turning your attention to your dinner, you opened the oven to check on the food. You jump and gasp when you feel Loki moving closer behind you, his hand snaking up your hips.
“Do you need help with anything?” He asks, his sultry voice making you dizzy and immediately wet.
“N-no, I have it a-all under control,” you stutter, shooting up from your bent-over position. Loki’s hands are still on your hips when you turn around to face him, resting your hands on his firm chest. You’re standing so close to each other you could tilt your head up and kiss him if you wanted to… and you desperately want to.
“I… umm… should go get dressed.” You choke out. “Can you… keep an eye on the... uh… oven?”
“Of course.” He replies, one hand moving to your hair, tucking a strand of it behind your ear.
You give him a smile and head towards your bedroom, where you collapse on your bed as soon as you reach it. Holy shit, this man is going to be the death of you, with his voice, his touch, and his eyes. Every time he spoke, the heat in your belly sparked up to a hellish blaze, making you weak in the knees. He’s waiting for you out there, don’t be a coward, get up, you finally tell yourself. Taking your shirt off, you walk to your closet to figure out something to wear, yet again.
“Oh! I am so sorry, I should have announced myself,” Loki says from your bedroom door, and you jump, grabbing the closest piece of fabric to cover yourself up.
“Oh God!” You scream, your hand flying up to your chest, heart pounding. With a single step, Loki crosses the distance between the two of you, his palms up as to hold you, but he stops himself.
“Hey - hey there, it’s just me. I am so sorry I scared you darling.” He whispers softly, trying to calm you down.
“I- uh, it’s ok. I just didn’t hear you coming.” You say, trying to slow down the cascading beat of your heart. And then it hits you. The piece of fabric you had grabbed to cover yourself with was the cream coloured blouse you had bought months ago but never wore for the simple reason it was way too sheer. So sheer in fact, it meant that Loki could clearly see through it, he could see your naked stomach and black lace bra. You could feel his gaze on you as you turned bright red, scrambling to find something else to cover up with.
“I-I’m sorry, I-I didn’t realize you could see everything.” You apologize profusely.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispers, his tone of voice stopping you in your tracks. You turn to look at him and you see his eyes exploring your body, admiration pouring out of them. He steps closer to you, grabbing the hand you were using to search with, and running his up from your wrist to your shoulder, slowly tracing your collar bone, before making it way up your neck, gently across your cheek and getting lost in your hair. You moan softly under his touch, the blouse falling quietly on the floor as you reach for him with both hands.
Before you know it, your lips meet, sending jolts of electricity through your body. You reach your arms up and wrap them around Loki’s neck, pulling him closer to you. Your sudden burst of passion makes him groan under your touch and he deepens your kiss, teasing the tip of his tongue in between your lips as he pins you against the wall, igniting a burning desire in you. You feel his hands slide from your hair slowly down to the small of your back, resting there for a moment before cupping your ass and he lifts you up in his arms. You gasp against his mouth as you wrap your legs around his waist, surprised at his strength. He keeps kissing you as he walks you over to the bed, laying you down gently. For a moment, you’re both just staring at each other, eyes full of desire and catching your breath.
“Are you sure?” Loki asks, brushing hair out of your face and then carefully brushing his thumb against your swollen lips. You part them, taking his thumb in your mouth and slowly sucking on it as you nod. The soft moan that comes out of his lips as you suck on his digit sets off an even hotter fire through your belly. Loki crashes his lips against yours, his hands roaming your body. He moves his mouth to your neck, kissing and biting love marks all over it, as you fumble around with the buttons on his shirt, the task being a lot more difficult with this man’s lips all over you. As soon as the shirt falls open, you’re frozen, your eyes roaming his strong, sublime body, hands running over the contours of his stomach, absolutely mesmerized.
“You’re so beautiful,” you echo Loki’s words.
Capturing your lips again, he starts kissing down your neck again, making his way to your chest. Slowly running his right hand up your body, he cups your breast as he licks the other one through the lace of your bra and you’re moaning, your back arching under his touch.
“That’s where you’re wrong, you are beautiful,” he whispers against your skin, making you shiver. “So beautiful, how could I ever live without you anymore.”
Loki begins kissing his way down your stomach, undoing your pants slowly and brushing his lips across your lower stomach. You whimper as he pulls your jeans off and comes back up, hooking his fingers around the waistband of your panties, kissing your thigh as he slides them down too. His hands are back on your inner thighs before the rest of him is, and you’re throbbing, clenching, soaking even more, just knowing that his fingers are inches away from where you need him most.
“Is this ok?” he asks you softly, feeling his hot breath between your thighs.
“Yes.” And his tongue is on you, parting you so incredibly slow, you think you might pass out. You’re wet, you know that, and he knows that too as he moans against you, licking small little circles around your clit. You’re trying so hard to stay quiet, every bone in your body fighting against the urge to scream out his name. You feel his nose pressed up against you as he’s devouring you like you’re the last meal he’ll ever have, his hands gripping and squeezing your thighs, your hips, your waist. He slowly retreats, letting his fingers tease you for a little as he flashes you a quick smile, eyes burning with desire, and you feel a thick single finger slide excruciatingly slow inside of you.
“Fuck!” is all you can manage, every other word and sound stuck in your throat.
Loki starts pumping his finger, in and out, out and in, getting faster and faster, adding a second one and sucking on your clit so hard, you’re about to cum. You grab fistfuls of his hair as you arch your back into him, begging him to keep going, to lick you more. You scream as you cum all over his fingers, the orgasm sending violent spasms throughout your entire body. As you’re trying to catch your breath, his mouth leaves you, making it harder for you to breathe, and he kisses you. He tastes like you, and all you can think about is wanting to make him feel as good as he just made you feel. Sitting up on your elbows, still kissing him, you bring him closer to you, sliding your lips from his mouth to his ear, catching his ear lobe in between your teeth and whispering softly, voice still rough from your orgasm.
“Please… let me touch you.” He groans against your neck and flips you, so he’s lying on the bed. Loki grabs your face and kisses you passionately as you unbuckle his belt and take his pants and briefs off. You’re astonished at how big he is, thick and long, already hard for you. You kiss his stomach as you slide a hand down, wrapping your fingers around him as he throbs, and slowly start pumping your fist. The sound that makes his way from his chest and out his lips is almost enough to make you cum again, and you slide your mouth down, licking that small bead of precum from the tip and wrapping your mouth around him, sucking softly. Loki moans your name, grabbing a handful of your hair, as you start bopping your head, accentuating your movement with your hand. Before long he’s pleading for you to stop, his hips spasming, making him thrust into your mouth. Retreating with an audible pop, you giggle as you take your bra off before climbing on top of him, his dick throbbing against you. As Loki wraps his arms around you, pulling you closer, he flips you again, running his hands along your curves while a happy moan escapes you. Slowly, he slides the tip of him between your lips and you gasp at how thick he is, but you’re still wrapping your legs around his waist, pulling him closer to you. You hold there for a moment, gazing in each other's eyes and in one swift movement, he buries himself deep inside of you, a growl slipping through his lips.
“F-fuck darling, you feel so good.” He moans as he starts to thrust in you, shattering your entire world. You can’t formulate words, all you know and all you’ve ever known is that nobody has taken care of you like Loki is doing right now. You want this moment to last forever, him inside of you, your bodies interlaced, lips pressed against each other’s, your choked out breaths matching the beating of your hearts to the rhythm of your desire for one another. Everything you’ve ever known ceases to exist, but the two of you, in that moment, as Loki makes love to you passionately. He’s rolling his hips, hitting a spot in you you didn’t know could get you so close to the edge of insanity so fast.
“Loki, fuck! I-I’m gonna…” you start.
“Wait for me,” he moans out after you, pumping his hips harder into you, one hand gripping your hip, the other lost in your hair. “Fuck”. And you do, until his last powerful thrust and you cry out as you feel him explode inside of you, your orgasm ripping your body to shreds from the sheer intensity of it.
You stay lying there for a while, him still inside of you, your arms wrapped around him, as his head rests against yours. Gently, he rolls off to the side, pulling you into his and kissing you deeply. You sigh in pure bliss as he kisses you, resting your hand up his sweaty torso, following the movement of his breaths.
“I think we might’ve overcooked, possibly even burnt, the food,” he whispers in your hair, and you feel him smile.
“Worth it to me, was it not to you?” You tease, kissing him again.
“I’m hurt you would even question it, my beautiful girl,” his reply sending butterflies through your stomach as he kisses you back with infinite softness.
You are lost in the moment, wishing you could forever just kiss this God’s lips.

From The Ground Up:
Buck POV:
I don't know what to do. I already apologized to the 118, especially Cap, but they still treat me like shit. It's been 8 months since the lawsuit and I haven't gone out on a call once. I know if I told Maddie or my parents, they would tell me to "go home". I'm starting to think that may be the best thing for me. At least my family knows I'm not on blood thinners anymore. Sitting at home, nursing a beer, I made my decision. I'm going home.
The next day I call up the fire chief and ask if I can get an appointment for that day. They are thankfully able to get me in at 1. I glance at the clock seeing that it's 10am. I text Maddie to have her come over. She lets herself in with her key and I get up to hug her.
"Hey Mads"
"Hey Evan. So why did you want to talk to me?"
"I think I'm going to go home. Its been 8 months and I haven't been out on a call once. I have an appointment with the chief at 1 today. I don't want this to affect your relationship with Chim. He has actually been one of the only ones who has talked to me. Him and Hen have been friends, but Cap and Eddie. They just glare or say things to my face that I just can't take anymore. I'm gonna surprise dad, but I'll call Kelly, Matt, and Boden to let them know. I'll miss you but you know where I'll be."
I look at Maddie to see her with tears in her eyes but she looks understanding. She nods and says,
"I understand Evan. You need a "new" start. I will miss you but I'm glad Chim and Hen have been there for you. I'll help you pack once you get back from the chief since I have today off. I can call Hen and Chim to see if they'll help too, but they probably will anyway."
I nod and get up. She stands up and we hug for what seems like hours, but its only 5 minutes. When we separate, she takes my hand into hers and drags me towards the door.
"Mads what are you doing?" I ask amused.
"We are going out to get breakfast at our favorite diner, then we are picking up Chim and Hen, then coming back here so you can type up your resignation and us three can start packing as you go talk to the chief. After your meeting, you will call Kelly, Matt, and Boden like you said"
I just nod and get my shoes on. We get out to the car and decide on driving my Jeep. Maggie's diner is about 10 minutes away from my loft, so it doesn't take long to get there. The hostess sees us and smiles since we are regulars here and she shows us to "our table". Patti, our favorite waitress comes to our table and smiles when she sees us.
"Well look what the cat dragged in! The Buckley siblings! Y'all want your regular?"
We both nod and Patti winks at us and walks away. Maddie looks at me pointedly so I take that as a point to start thinking of what I should say in my resignation. As if reading my mind, she pulls out a pad of paper and pencil. I start writing and once I do I just keep writing and I don't even realize our food is here until it gets set in front of me. We eat, pay and then head out. Maddie calls Chim and Hen and they agree to head over to the loft, even if they are a bit confused.
"Hey buckaroo!" Hen greets when I open the door for her and Chim. I hug them both and let them in. They already know most about what is going on at the firehouse, so they aren't super surprised when I say I am leaving. I tell them I'm planning on going home to Chicago, as soon as possible. Maddie looks at the time and tells me to get going so I'm not late to the meeting, and that them three will get packing. I thank them and head out.
45 minutes later I'm walking into the fire chief's office.
"Firefighter Buckley" Chief Torres greets and I shake his hand.
"Thank you for seeing me today Chief Torres. I am here because I would like to transfer stations. Specifically to firehouse 51 in Chicago. As for why, things at the 118 have not been good. Captain Nash and Firefighter Diaz have been holding personal vendettas against me because of my lawsuit from 8 months ago. Firefighters Han and Wilson have been the only ones from the firehouse treating me like a human. They don't participate in the jibes towards me and they still talk to me. They don't deserve to be punished, but Nash and Diaz should be. They shouldn't be fired, but maybe suspended. But I will leave that up to you. I came from Chicago and I started at the 51. I made a family there and I would love to return to it."
The chief sits there for a few before nodding and pulling out transfer papers. He signs them and then stands up.
"I hate to lose a good firefighter, but I feel after what you said, I will be looking into Nash and Diaz. Have a good life in Chicago Buckley."
I stand up and shake his hand. I take the papers and walk out to my Jeep. I call Maddie to let her know I'm on my way back. When I get back to my place, I'm surprised at how much they had gotten packed up, but then again, I didn't have much. We call a moving company and book them for the next day. Next I call the men that have become my older brothers in all but blood, Matt Casey and Kelly Severide.
*Ring ring ring*
Matt: "Hey Ev! What's up?"
Buck: "Hey Matty, can you grab Kel and see if Boden is free? If he isn't just go somewhere private. I need to talk to you all."
Matt: "Sure. Is everything alright?"
Buck: "Yeah nothing bad. Just got something to talk to you about."
Matt: "Okay Ev, I have all of us in Boden's office with the door shut."
Buck: "Okay. So I just want to say this all at once so please don't interrupt me and ask questions at the end. Things here have not been good since the lawsuit. Chim and Hen have been good but Diaz and Nash have been cold and distancing me. I am hoping that I can be transfered back home. I have the papers ready, just need a spot. And before you ask, yes Maddie is okay with it. And no I haven't talked to dad, I wanna surprise both my parents. So what do you say Boden, you want another Herrmann on your team?"
Boden: "Okay Buck, I think we can make room here at 51 for you. I told you when you left there would always be a spot for you and I meant it. I would love for you to come back here. What do you think boys?"
Kelly: "Well Cub, I wish you came to us about the 2, I understand why you didn't. I want you to come home too and Matt here is agreeing with me. You want us to pick you up from the airport when you land?"
Buck: "That would be great. Can I stay with you guys? Until I find a place? That or I'll stay with my parents. I should be out there tomorrow late afternoon. I'll text you to let you know for sure"
Matt: "Sounds good Buck. Can't wait to see you. And don't worry, we won't tell your dad."
Buck: "Okay I'll see you guys tomorrow. Love you!"
All three: "Love you!"
*Click*
I want back into the living room where the three are sitting.
"Hey Mads, Chim, Hen. Boden told me I have a spot there and Matty and Kel said they'll pick me up from the airport. You said you booked one right?"
She nods, "yeah I did Evan. I'm glad Matt and Kelly will pick you up. I like that you are surprising mom and dad. Are you gonna stay there or with the boys?"
"I'm not sure yet. The boys said I can stay with them but if mom and dad want me to stay with them, I will"
"Not to interrupt this, but who are Boden, Kelly, and Matt?" Hen asks.
"Oh right! I forgot you guys don't know our friends and family from Chicago! So I was adopted after Evan wasn't able to save our older brother with a bone marrow transplant. He got adopted by Christopher and Cindy Herrmann in Chicago. He grew up there, became a firefighter like our dad and his godfather Mouch. He moved here and worked at the 118, as you know. When I moved here and started dating you Chim, I was able to reconnect with him, since I recognized his birthmark. We talked and cried. I told him how I was disowned by our birth parents because I am bi and he introduced me to our parents. They immediately unofficially adopted me into their family and so I call them mom and dad. Kelly and Matt are other firefighters at 51 and they all went to the academy together and became like brothers. Kelly and Matt are married." Maddie explained. I'm nodding along.
"Yep. Mom and dad treat Maddie like their own and I want to go home to Chicago because personally, it's toxic here for me. You guys are great and I love you but Eddie and Bobby are the worst right now. I know you stand up for me and I appreciate it a lot but I just need my original family. I'll keep in touch of course and I'll miss you but you are always willing to visit me in Chicago." I added on.
Chim and Hen nodded and got up to give me a hug.
The next hours fly by and the next thing I know, I'm landing in O'Hare airport. I see the men who are like my older brothers and run to give them each a hug.
"Hey Ev! How have you been?"
"I've been better but I'm do happy to be here." It's slightly muffled because I'm in the middle of hugging them. I pull back the they see my tears on my face and each wipe them off my face. I smile at them softly and they smile back.
"Hey Cub." Kelly says softly.
"Hi" I reply just as softly.
"Let's get out of here eh?" Matt asks.
I just nod and they each flank one of my sides whole carrying my duffle. The rest of my stuff is in the moving truck. We walk out to Matt's truck. I climb in and we take off to the 51. We stay in comfortable silence with me just watching the city go by. We get there 20 of so minutes later but it seems shorter than that. We get out and the go to each of my sides again. They have always been taller than me and I say I hate it but I secretly love it. I see my dad talking to my uncle Mouch in the break room. Sylvie Brett is the first one to see me and she gasps loudly making everyone turn toward me.
"SURPRISE!" I shout shocking them out of their frozen states.
Next thing I know I am tackled by my dad and godfather. Boden is secretly recording this for everyone.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" My dad and godfather ask at the same time.
"Well it's a long story which I will tell over drinks at Molly's tonight, but pretty much, things got crappy at 118, and I wanted to come home. Don't worry dad, Mads was the one to talk me into it. And only Diaz and Nash were the ones who were bad. Hen and Chim have been good." He just nods and they both step back so everyone else can hug me. The girls are next, Shay, Stella, and Sylvie come running up next hugging me super tight, but I'm hugging back just as tight. I hug everyone else except for 2 people I don't recognize. I turn to my dad questionably.
"Ah right. Evan, these are Darren Ritter and Blake Gallo. They are new to the house." I shake their hands and for some reason I get butterflies shaking Gallo's hand. I think the girls sensed something because they gave me knowing looks. I gave them 'the look' back.
"Hi, I'm Evan Buckley-Herrmann. I used to go by Buck but I think I'm gonna start going by Evan again." I smile at them. They smile back and shake my hand.
"Hi Evan, I'm Darren Ritter. I've been here for about a year."
"Hi, I'm Blake Gallo and I've been here about 5 or so months"
I smile and nod to each of them. When Gallo smiles back all I can think of is damn his smile is cute. Fuck I'm so gone on him and I just met him.
"Oh dad! I didn't tell mom either so I think I'll stay here until shift is done and then we can stop by home, pick her up and we'll all go to Molly's and meet up with the crew from Med and Intelligence?"
"Sounds good Ev. You wanna borrow some turnout gear and go with? If that's okay of course." He asked the last part directed towards Boden. Boden nods and so I agree pretty quickly. Almost as if it knows, the alarm goes off.
*Time skip to end of shift because I cannot write fire scenes for shit*
Dad and I walk out of the firehouse at the end of shift and get in his car. After about 5 minutes he speaks up,
"So what was that with Gallo?"
Shit. Play dumb.
"What do you mean?"
Good, good.
"Look, I know what flirting looks like, son. And I know you are gay since you came out to us in high school. I'm also not dumb, so I'll ask again, what was that with Gallo?"
I sigh. He always knows how to read me.
"He is cute, and I think I might be getting a crush on him, but it's nothing and he is most likely straight anyways."
"Well, I'm glad you told me, and I think you may have a better chance than you think."
And with that we pull into the driveway of my childhood home. We get out of the car and dad goes in first. I hear him say to mom,
"Hey honey, I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes"
After a few seconds he comes out and beckons me inside. I walk up and say,
"Hey mom."
She opens her eyes and shrieks when she sees me. She runs up to me and hugs me as tight as she can and I hug her back just as tight. Dad comes up to us and hugs us too. After a few we reluctantly separated.
"So what are you doing here?" She asks as she wipes the tears off her face. I tell her what I told dad and she nods and goes to get ready to go to Molly's. Dad and I do the same.
We get to Molly's and I'm bombarded by hugs again from my friends from Med and Intelligence. I am friends with Jay and Will Halstead, Mouse Gerwitz, Antonio Dawson, Hailey Upton, Adam Ruzek, Kim Burgess, Alvin Oilinsky, not Voight because of reasons, Kevin Atwater, Trudy Platt, Ethan Choi (he's not a dick here), Crockett Marcel, Natalie Manning, Maggie Lockwood, April Sexton, Connor Rhodes, Daniel Charles and Sharon Goodwin. They are all there and as soon as they heard I was back in town, they all came to Molly's. I also got hugs again from Kel, Matty, Joe, Otis, Sylvie, Stella, Shay, Andy, Boden, Tony, and Capp. I shake Gallo and Ritter's hands again. They all look at me expectantly, waiting for the story. I sigh and start talking.
"Okay so basically, you all remember how I was crushed under the truck? Well at my welcome back party, I had a pulmonary embolism in my ex-captains backyard. I wake up in the hospital and find out I need to go on blood thinners because I worked too hard doing my recertification. I go to dinner at my ex-captains house and find out why I can't go back on calls because of him. He is the one keeping me as a fire marshal. I make a dumb mistake and decide to sue the department and him. The lawyer threatened them all and tried to offer me a payout but I just wanted to go back to the firehouse. When I decided to come home, I hadn't been out on a call in 8 months. I got tired of it so I texted Maddie, my sister, and she came over. We went out to brunch at our favorite diner. On our way back to my loft, she called her boyfriend and his best friend, both of whom are my ex-coworkers but they were very vocal about my treatment and never shut me out. I went to talk to the chief, and he signed the transfer papers. I went back home to find that the three of them had packed all my things and Maddie booked me a flight for the next day, aka today. I called Matty, he got Boden and Kel into the office and I told them my plan. Next thing I know they are picking me up from O'Hare, we went to the firehouse, I surprised you all, went out on a few calls, went home to surprise mom, and came here to tell you my story."
I look around and see many shocked and furious faces.
"Okay I know those faces, you don't need to murder them, I told the chief what happened and recommend he suspend but not fire Diaz and Nash."
They all look more satisfied at that, but still mad. Gallo and Ritter just looked shocked.
"Wait wait wait, you are telling me that YOU WERE THE GUY TRAPPED UNDER THE TRUCK?!" Gallo asked, shocked.
I nod sheepishly.
"Yeah some kid was tryna blow up my captain but I was in his seat for the day. Don't remember why."
He just blew out a breath.
"Okay less sad things, what have I missed with you all?"
Jay speaks up first.
"Well Mouse and I finally got engaged!" He said, showing me his ring.
I jump up and go hug them both.
"I'm so happy for you two!"
They thank me and Connor goes next.
"Will and I finally got our heads out of our asses and got together."
I hug them both too and congratulate them.
"Matt and I are still together obviously" Kelly says. I roll my eyes and smack him on the head.
"I got a new girlfriend." Shay says slyly looking at Sylvie.
"I broke up with my boyfriend." Gallo says shrugging.
I feel both the girls and dads eyes on me but I very clearly ignore them. Everyone else is kinda confused but brushes it off.
"Chole is pregnant with my son!" Joe says excitedly.
"Oh my god dude congrats! I'm so happy for you!"
Everyone else shares something or say nothing new.
Couple hours later, it started to wind down and I'm at a table with the Halstead brothers, their other haves and Shay, Kim, and Hailey.
"So what's that with Gallo?" Mouse asks me pointedly. They all turn to me and I know my face is heating up.
"Nothing! There is nothing going on with Gallo!"
They all give me a 'drop the bullshit' look and I sigh.
"Okay fine, you all can stop giving me that look. I might have a slight crush on him. And it may be a little more now that I know he likes guys. But what if he doesn't like me?"
They all look at me in understanding.
"Evan, I love you, but why the fuck would he not want to go out with you? You are good looking, you are sweet, and anyone who wouldn't date you is dumb. And I'm a fucking lesbian." Shay says to me, everyone nodding along showing they agree with her.
"Yeah Cubby, I may not be a lesbian but you are like my brother, anyone who wouldn't date you is dumb" Kim adds on.
I sigh and nod. They all smile at me and we start talking about Jay and Mouse's wedding. Little did I know there was a very similar conversation at the table with Gallo, Ritter, Stella, Sylvie, Adam, and Andy.
Gallo POV:
"So Gallo, what was that with Evan?" Stella asks me.
"I have no idea what you are talking about"
"Cut the bullshit Blake. We all saw what was going on between you two" Andy says to me.
Fine, guess I'm not getting out of this one.
"Okay, I like him, but he is Herrmann's son! And I don't even know if he likes guys."
They all snort and start laughing then they look at me. I'm confused.
"Gallo, Evan is as gay as a fucking rainbow." Adam says to me in between laughter.
Wait, what?
"He's gay?"
They all nod.
Okay, I have a better chance now. They must've seen me thinking because Sylvie pats my shoulder and gets my attention.
"You should go for it. I've seen the way he's been looking at you all night. Just, maybe wait until tomorrow." She says, then walks over to Shay and grabs her hand. And pulls her up and out of the bar. The rest of them are not far behind and soon it's just Ritter, me, Evan, Cindy, and Herrmann. I go say goodbye to my best friend, the Herrmanns and Evan.
"Hey Evan, I'm gonna head out but it was nice to meet you" I hold my hand out for a shake but he pulls me into a hug shocking me at first before I hug him back. Once we pull apart I realize he is drunk because he plants a kiss on my cheek. My face heats up bright red. Ritter is looking at me amused and so I flip him off before we head out since he drove me and didn't drink tonight.
We get to my place and I wave goodbye. I fall asleep to the thought of Evan Buckley-Herrmann...
Buck POV:
I don't remember much from last night cause I ended up getting more drunk than I wanted too. I do however remember hugging Gallo. My face heats up at the thought of him. Oh god I can't believe I hugged him and kissed his cheek. He is never gonna wanna speak to me again. I'm pulled out if my spiral by dad knocking on my door.
"Come in!" I call
"Hey son, I thought you might have a headache after last night so here's some water and Tylenol. Also because I know you, I saw what you did to Gallo and just know, he doesn't hate you and actually texted me asking for your number, so if you get an unexpected text from a unknown number, that's all me. Love you, I'll see you in a few before we have to head in."
I nod and he closes the door. Well that's good that he doesn't hate me.
*Ding!*
I look over at my phone and see:
+773-675-6554:
Hey Evan! This is Blake Gallo. I hope you don't mind that Herrmann gave me your number. I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner tonight? As a date?
Hey Blake! I would love to! I also wanna apologize for last night, I was super drunk. I didn't mean to get that drunk. I'll see you at work today.
It's okay! I'll pick you up around 7? We get off shift at 6.
Sounds perfect! See you later!
See ya!
I groan and lay back on my bed. I stay there for like 30 seconds before I shoot up and start to freak out. Oh god I have a date. I have a date with Blake Gallo. I HAVE A DATE WITH BLAKE FUCKING GALLO! I lay face down on my bed like a teenager and stay there. I hear my door knock and I just groan. He comes in and chuckles at me.
"What's wrong?"
I just chuck my phone at him. They know my password since I don't ever really have much to hide from them, and if I do, I hide it good.
He reads the texts and laughs.
"Isn't that a good thing?" He asks me, amused.
"Yeah. But I have nothing to weaaar." I say sounding like a child.
"Well how about your mom goes and gets you some new clothes, since she knows your size, and then you are ready for your date. Sound good?"
I nod and get up.
"Okay. Now get dressed! We gotta leave in 5 minutes!"
I scramble to get dressed and we head out. I'm excited to have my first full shift at the 51. We pull in and get out. I smile when I see the "WELCOME HOME MINI HERRMANN" banner hanging up. We get ready and as soon as we are all ready, the alarm rings out. It was a quick one, a car accident. We were pretty busy today so it went by quick. I couldn't help but look at Blake when I thought no one was looking but a certain pair of husband's certainly saw this. They pulled dad off to the side to talk to him when we had a free moment.
"So why does Ev keep looking at Gallo?"
My dad laughs and tells then about the texts from this morning, but makes then promise that they won't let me know they know. (Yes I pulled a friends). They agree and as soon as they are done talking the alarm goes off one last time. Our last call went all the way to the end of our shift so I hurry and make dad leave quick, much to the surprise of those who don't know about the date. Gallo is not far behind them rushing out and a few people have knowing looks.
We get home and I see what clothes mom got me and decide on a maroon button up shirt and black jeans with my black doc martens. I gel my hair and about that time is when I get a text:
Blake:
Hey! I'm outside!
Okay! I'll be right out!
I double check I have everything and head out, saying bye to my parents. I walk out and see him leaning up against his car. He hugs me and I hug back, taking in his scent that seems oddly comforting. We break apart and he goes to open my door. I smile at him as I get in the car and he smiles back. He gets in and starts driving. I tentatively reach across the center console to grab his hand and he holds it. We smile at each other and he pulls into a small hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant. We get out and he grabs my hand again as we walk in.
"Reservation for Gallo" he says to the hostess. She nods and grabs 2 menus taking us to our table. We look at them and decide what we want. He gets the chicken enchiladas with a coke and I get fish tacos with a sprite. She takes our orders and walks away. I reach across the table and hold his hand. We start talking about our childhoods. He learns I wasn't born to mom and dad and I learn about how his family died. We talk for so long we don't realize our food is here until it gets set down. We eat, and he pays even though I try to protest. He just says "I asked out on a date. If this goes well, you can pay for the next one." I sigh and realize he wasn't going to give it up so I relent. We head back out to his car and he drives us out to a ledge to look over the city. He has a truck and backed it up so we can lay on his bed to look at the stars. We cuddled there since he brought blankets to lay down. We didn't talk, I just had my head on his chest, watching the stars.
"Evan?" He asks softly.
I look up at him and respond, "yeah?"
He looks down at me and asks, "can I kiss you?"
I nod and meet him halfway. His lips are so soft and sweet. His tongue is asking permission to enter my mouth and I let it. I moan into his mouth and he does the same when I put my tongue in his. We make out for a few minutes before we have to take a breather. We rest our foreheads against each other.
"That was amazing," I breathed out.
He just nods and we sit there. He then leans in to kiss me again, this time much more chaste.
"Do you wanna come back to my place? We don't have to have sex, but I just want to snuggle you" he asks after a few.
I look up at him through my eyelashes and nod. We get out of his truck bed and he grabs the blankets and shuts the tailgate. I climb in and let my dad know I won't be home. He just sends back winky faces and tells me to be safe. I sent him the middle finger emoji and shut my phone off. He climbs in and we head to his place. He turns on the radio and I hear one of my favorite songs, From The Ground Up by Dan+Shay. I start humming along and then when Blake turns it up I start to sing which causes him to sing along too. We both laugh and are so joyful when the song ends that we keep singing along with the radio. We pull into his apartment complex and get out. We get up there and I realize I don't have pajamas. I tell Blake this and he tells me I can borrow a shirt and sweats from him. He hands them to me and I go change. We fall asleep pretty quickly, him spooning me from behind. I feel so comfortable in his arms and it just feels right. I never believed in soulmates, but Blake Gallo is making me believe in them now.
I wake up the next morning to see Blake looking at me lovingly. I smile back up at him and kiss him. We both smile into the kiss.
"I gotta get back to my parents before shift since I don't want to go in my nice clothes" I murmur against his lips.
"Or you could borrow my clothes if you want?" He says with a shrug.
I agree, not really wanting to head back to my parents. I borrow a pair of jeans a t shirt, neither of us looking at it closely.
We head out and go to the firehouse. I hold his hand across the center console again, occasionally pulling out joined hands to kiss them. On the way there he asks me to be his boyfriend and I agree immediately. When we pull in, we smile at each other and get out. We keep our hands joined, not wanting to hide this from our family. We hear wolf whistles and cheers and we just shake our heads with smiles.
"Hey kid! Nice shirt!" I hear Mouch say.
I turn around confused a little bit before Stella takes pity on me,
"Cubby, your shirt says 'Gallo'"
We both blush and walk away. I hear Ritter going to talk to Blake and I see the resident hubby's walking over to me. They pull me into Matt's bunk and push me onto the bed.
"Talk" they both say.
I sigh and say, "okay, so the day before yesterday, I got a text from Blake asking if he wants to go on a date. The night before when it was just Ritter, him, me, and my parents, when he came to say goodbye, I was so drunk I pulled him into a hug and kissed his cheek. I apologized the next morning but he asked me on a date and I said yes. He picked me up from my parents house, opened the car door for me like a gentleman, and we went to a Mexican restaurant, then out to the ledge that looks out over the city. We laid in the bed of his truck just watching the stars when he asked if he could kiss me. I said yes, we kissed a few times then he asked if I wanted to go back to his place. He said we don't need to have sex and that he just wants to snuggle me. I agree, let my dad know, which was a mistake considering he is a kid at heart. We sang along to the radio on the way back since my favorite song came on, we got back to his place and he gave me sweats and a shirt to wear. We laid in bed, with him as the big spoon. We woke up together and I was at first gonna ask him to drop me off at home but then he just said I can borrow clothes from him so we don't have to go back. He hands me what I'm wearing, we don't look at the shirt obviously. On the way here we hold hands across the console, I keep kissing our joined hands. We then walk into the firehouse and you know the rest."
They nod along to the entire rant and finally Matt asks, "Are you happy?"
I nod enthusiastically and say, "Very. I haven't been this happy in a long time"
They both nod and get up to give me a hug. I start to tear up because having their and my parents' approval are very important to me.
"As long as you are happy Cub, we are happy." Kelly says, Matt agreeing. At that, I finally let my tears fall and they hug me again and kiss my forehead. After a few, I finally get it together and head out of the bunk. I see Blake talking to Ritter, Otis, and Cruz in the bunk room, so I go up to him and hug him. He hugs me back, a little confused but not complaining. He kisses my forehead ignoring the other three who are looking at the couple with a fond look. They walk away to give us a little privacy, shutting the door.
"What's wrong baby?" He asks me.
I sniff and then look up at him, "Nothing. I am just glad that they are accepting of our relationship. I know we just had our first date last night, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
He looks down at me with tears in his eyes too, and kisses my forehead again then my lips.
"I can't imagine my life without you too. All I could dream about last night was marrying you someday and adopting kids with you. I genuinely feel like you are my soulmate. I love you."
At that, the tears start flowing, he wipes my tears with his thumbs and kisses me.
"I love you too" I tell him softly. At that, the alarm goes off and then we are off, but not without one more kiss.
When I climb into the truck, dad asks me if I'm okay. I nod and smile at him, telling him I'll talk to him later. He nods and we are off.
When we get back, Blake and I go to talk to Boden to fill out paperwork for our relationship. He tells us he is proud of us and thanks us for filling out the paperwork. We nod and he hugs us both.
We head into the lounge and decide to cude together on the couch, but not in Mouch's spot. I close my eyes and lay my head on his shoulder. I feel him lay his head on mine and then I am asleep. We wake up when the alarm goes off again.
"Rise and shine lovebirds!" Capp yells at us. We flip him off together. The fire goes out pretty quickly and we are headed back to the station. Blake asks me if we can talk when we pull in and I nod and ask Kelly if we can use his bunk to talk. He says sure, so we head there.
"Okay, I know we literally just started dating, but how would you feel about moving in with me? I know you are looking for a place and your stuff will be here soon. If you don't want to, that's fine, but I figured it would be better for you, and we can split the rent. Whatdya say?"
I take that in for a moment before nodding with a bright grin coming across my face.
"Yeah?" He asks, a hopeful look on his face.
"Yeah." I confirm with a bright grin.
"Yay!! I'm so glad you said yes!"
"I am too. I meant what I said when I said I want to grow old with you. I want to get married and have kids with you. I love you."
"I love you too." He then leaned down to kiss me and I kissed back.
We walk out of the bunk holding hands and smiling. As the shift comes to an end I tell him that I'll head back to my parents for the night and let them know what I'm planning on doing. He says okay and we kiss and head off in different directions. Dad and I get to their house and see my Jeep is there finally. I'm glad, because as much as I love my dad driving me, I need my own vehicle. We walk in and mom greets us. We eat and then I tell them I need to talk to them. They look concerned so I reassure them it's nothing bad.
"Mom, dad, as I'm sure you know by now, Blake Gallo and I are dating. And I know we just started dating but I feel as if I've known him my entire life. He is the person I want to grow old with. He is the person I want to marry someday. He is the person I want to adopt kids with. And I know he feels the same cause he told me. I love him and he loves me. So he asked me to move in with him just because he knows I'm looking for a place and the rent would be cheaper. So I said yes. I hope that's okay."
They look at me with proud looks and tears in their eyes.
"Evan, of course it's okay. After hearing that, I firmly believe you two are soulmates. I don't always believe in love at first sight, but I saw you guys the first time you saw each other and something clicked. Your mother and I will always love you and always be proud of you. We will help you move your stuff along with I'm sure the rest of the firehouse. They all saw something there, and I know you two are meant for each other."
At this point, all of had tears down our faces. I nod and don't say anything because I don't trust my voice. They pull me into a hug and we just hug for a long time. Eventually I speak, "I think I'll stay here for the rest of the week, since we have this weekend off, we can move my stuff then"
They nod and we all head off to bed, but not before they both kiss my forehead. I fall asleep that night thinking of the names Evan Gallo and Blake Herrmann.
The weeks goes by quick. Blake and I explain what we are gonna do and they all agree to help us that weekend. Saturday rolls around and we get everything unpacked pretty quickly since Ieft all my furniture and didn't have much. Next thing I know I'm FaceTiming Maddie, Chim, and Hen to introduce them to my Blake as my boyfriend a few weeks later. They are shocked at first but by the end, Maddie and Chim are coming over for Christmas in a few months. We say bye and hang up the phone. I sigh contently and look over at my boyfriend. He looks back at me lovingly. It's been about a month since we got together. I already bought a ring, but I'm gonna wait a little longer.
*Time skip*
It's now December, getting closer to Christmas time. I want to propose on Christmas in front of our family. Since we became more serious, my family accepted him more. They already liked him since they knew him before, but it's different than being a coworker vs your son's boyfriend. Maddie and Chim are coming like they said they would. They'll be here tomorrow. The firehouse tease us about our relationship, but we both know they are happy for us. They do the same thing with Kel and Matty and Shay and Sylvie, but it's all joking. Christmas rolls around and I'm nervous and excited at the same. We show up at my parents and they let us in. Maddie and Chim are there since they are staying there instead of a hotel. We start opening presents and when it gets to my turn for Blake, I get down on one knee and pull out the ring. Behind me I hear mom and Maddie gasp but right now in focused on Blake.
"Blake, ever since I first laid eyes on you in the lounge room, I knew I liked you. That then morphed into love. I can't see myself with anyone else. I want to have children with you. I want to grow grey and wrinkly with you. I want marry you. So Blake James Gallo, will you marry me?"
He nods yes and falls down to me and we hug and kiss each other like our life depended on it. I slip the ring on as our family cheers for us and gives us all hugs. I see Blake reach into his pocket and pull out a velvet box.
"I was gonna ask you later this week, but Evan Buckley-Herrmann, will you marry me?"
I nod and we kiss again. We put our rings on and keep celebrating Christmas with our family.
We also bought the rubber rings for at work. We aren't telling anyone right out, we are gonna see who figures it out first. I bet on Shay, Blake says Matt, dad says Sylvie, mom and Maddie say Otis, and Chim who has gotten to know 51, says Stella. In the end, mom and Maddie were right. He noticed our rings and congratulated us prompting everyone else to do the same. The girls offered to plan it with Maddie. I ask Maddie to be my best woman and Blake asks Ritter to be his best man. We asked Boden to officiate it. My dad will walk me down the aisle. We each took turns deciding who we wanted for our groomsmen/women. We ended up doing a fall wedding because that is our favorite season and we had many people from intelligence, med, and firehouse 51 and a few people from California. Our first dance is the song we sang together on our first date. About a year into our marriage Blake and I decided to adopt twins. We now have two girls named Maeve Gallo and Robin Gallo who are 4. They love all the aunts and uncles they have from everywhere in Chicago and LA. They also love their "Papa Herrmann and Grammy Cindy. But also their grandpa Boden". Everyday I am thankful that I decided to leave LA and I'm thankful that the Herrmanns adopted me because if they didn't I don't know where I would be. But I thank God the Buckleys didn't want me and that captain Nash shut me out.
And we'll build this love from the ground up
Now 'til forever it's all of me, all of you
Just take my hand
And I'll be the man your dad hoped that I'd be
And we'll build this love from the ground up
For worse or for better
And I will be all you need
Beside you I'll stand through the good and the bad
We'll give all that we have
And we'll build this love from the ground up

You loved Chris deeply when you were dating when you were 16 and 17. And you still love him to this day. You and Chris were young and didn't understand the relationship at all. You both worked it out the best you could, but when Chris was ready to start his career, he broke up with you.
There were no hard feelings between the two of you. You both stayed in touch for a few months after, but soon lost connection after you left Boston for work yourself.
Now 20 years later, you were an interior realtor and back in Boston.  There were times when you thought about Chris when you saw him in movies or on your TV. You try your best to get him off your mind, you really did.
-♥-
It was around 8am when you woke up to your dog, Monty jumping on you. Groaning, you opened your eyes slightly to see your blue staffy.
"Oh Monty." You groaned out again. He began to jump up and down on the bed again making sure you were up.
"Okay Monty I'm aware you want to go on a walk buddy, just hold on. We're going to go." You breathed out as you laid back against your pillow. Monty probably understood you as he whimpered out before laying beside you, letting you get your day started.
Unknowingly Chris a few blocks away was standing in his kitchen, drinking his morning coffee. Dodger was right beside him wagging his tail, as he pawed at Chris's leg because he wanted something.
Chris looked down at the big brown eyed dog, laughing.
"What is bubba?"
Dodger ran towards the front door and Chris followed. Beside the door was his leash. Dodger turned around, looking up at him. Chris knew actually what he wanted. "Oh you want to go to the park?"
Dodger tail began to wag at his favorite word park. Chris laughed, taking the leash of the hook. "Okay, let's go for a walk."
-♥-
You got up out of bed and changed out of your jammies. Less than 10 minutes later, you were out of the door with Monty on his leash, ready for your morning walk.
You were thinking you were going to stop at the park and maybe let Monty play at the dog park, but for now you weren't sure.
Began to walk, you looked around the neighborhood seeing your elderly neighbors working on their garden. They saw you and waved like they always did. You smiled and waved back at them before continuing your adventure.
Chris was halfway down the street with Dodger. Dodge was smelling all the flowers and was tugging on the leash so he could try to get the squirrels. Chris laughed, keeping the puppy in front of himself.
"Come on dodger," he shouted. "Work with me bubba."
At the same time you were walking down the same street, on the same sidewalk with Monty. As soon as the staffy saw the dodger, he charged excitedly to meet the dog.
The tug caught you off guard making you yelp as you accidentally let go of his leash. "Monty!" You started to chase after him. Your yelling caught Chris's attention. He saw Monty running towards him and Dodger and you jogging behind him.
He quickly grabbed Monty's leash before he could get any further, even though he was really only wanting to see Dodger.
You quickly ran up to Chris, panting. "Thank you. He's a pain in the butt." You laughed through your breathing trying to make light of the moment.
Chris was about to say something but he was cut off when he noticed you. He's heart skipped a beat.
"Y/n!?"
You looked up at the familiar boston accent. Your mouth feels opened as you spit his name out. "Oh my gosh, Chris?"
Chris smiled at you, nodding. "Yeah, it's me." You smiled back at him. "H-how are you?" You asked, shocked that you were even seeing him. It felt like a dream.
"I'm good."
The both of you stood in silence before Chris spoke. "I… can I hug you?" He asked, looking at you with an adorable little smile. You nodded, "I'll love that."
Chris walked around the two dogs to pull you into a deep hug. The scent of fresh pine filling your nose reminds you of the past. Chris nose pressed into your neck, he was still smiling. He just couldn't believe it was you.
Eventually you had to pull away from him. Chris looked at you with a smirk. "Ah it's been a while since I saw you. 20 years." You sucked in your breath. "Yes, 20 years." You chuckled softly, looking down at the ground. You weren't sure what to do or say at this moment.
Chris took in the sight of you. You looked the same as you did when you were younger. Your eyes still sparkled the same way when you smiled. Your beautiful features were the same, and your laugh still made his legs feel like Jell-O.
"So um you live around here?" Chris said, speaking up. You looked up at him. "Uh yeah." You nodded. "I live down the street. Just a few houses down." You pointed behind you as you looked at Chris.
Chris nodded, "yeah well I live a few houses the other way. Pretty crazy how we live near each other as we did when we were younger." Your eyes widen at the memories.
"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to go out to lunch or something?" Chris asked. You knew he was nervous at how his lip rolled in between his teeth. That hasn't changed since you both were younger.
"How dinner? I have to go to work and I really have a lot. So if you're fine with 8: 30 then we can do 8:30 but you don't have to, but you know…"  You trailed off as you noticed you were about to ramble. Chris smiled at you making your face heat up.
"I'll love too. We can meet at the diner down the street, what do you say?" You nodded quickly, almost too quick, making you shyly tear your eyes from Chris.
"Sounds nice." You and Chris said goodbye and began to get your pups so you can take them home and see each other later. You swore you heard Chris mutter you were so beautiful, but your mind could have been playing tricks on you.
-♥-
After a long shift, you were finally home. Chris was on your mind the whole time. You thought you wouldn't get through the day like that, but you somehow did.
Entering your house, you were greeted by a happy Monty. You smiled and kneeled down, giving the pup a scratch and a kiss. "Hi Monty. Mommy has to go get ready okay." Monty giving you a few more licks before you stood up, racing up stairs.
After about 10 minutes in the shower, you got out and wrapped your towel around your wet body. You walked out of the bathroom into your bedroom. Going straight to the closet, you searched for an outfit that wasn't too much, but something that looked good.
After about 5 minutes you decided on a pair of blue jeans and a black shirt. You slipped that on and then went to do your hair and some light makeup.
Once you got yourself ready you went downstairs. Monty who was sitting on the couch, jumped down and began to walk over to you. You kneeled down to your baby, chuckling as you scratched his cute wittle face.
"Well buddy I guess Mama is going out on a date, I don't know if it's a date but I'm going out on a date with Chris. you know, the guy I used to date, but we broke up because he had work. Isn't that exciting?"
Monty looked at you confused as can be. He didn't understand you but you know he was happy for you.
"Ok well I should get going now. I'll see you a little later Monty." You waved goodbye to him as you opened the front door. "Wish me luck bud." With that you walked out of the house.
Chris was just walking out of the house as he got ready. He decided to wear some trousers and a button up shirt. It was his normal style, but he didn't care.
He took the sun glasses in his hand and put them on his face. He smiled as he walked to his car and got in. Shutting the door, he turned and put the key in the ignition. The engine roared as the car started. Chris exhaled before backing out of his driveway, on his way to the diner.
-♥-
You've been sitting in a booth in the back of the diner for about 5 minutes. Every time you heard the door open, you would look up hoping to see Chris, but it wasn't him.
After about 15 minutes of doing that, you saw Chris. You smiled when his eyes met yours. Chris walked over to you. "Hi."
He sat across from you with a sigh. "So how was work?" He looked over at you as he asked you that question. "Well I'm,it was pretty okay I guess. I'm very happy it's over now." You said.
Chris chuckled, "yeah."
You and Chris  eventually ordered and kept making conversation. You both talked about your careers and how your lives have been since you were younger.
Chris found out you've only had 3 partners since him. you've been in Boston for a while now and Chris was just now figuring it out. He told you a lot of things you already knew, but you listened anyway.
By around 9:45 you both were done and the check finally came. You were quick to pay, but Chris snatched it off the table before you could put your money on it.
"You know I'm not letting you pay." You shook your head and laughed. He still hasn't changed since you were younger.
After Chris paid you, both walked out of the diner. You underestimated the temperature and when you walked out the brisk air hit you. Chris saw you shivering and he instantly pulled off his Jacket. He draped it over your shoulders, so you wouldn't get any colder. Turning to him, you smiled. "Thanks Evans."
Chris smiled as his hand rested on your back as you walked to your car. No problem." You finally reached your car. You opened your door and got in. When you got all the way in, Chris shutted the door before leaning down to the window.
Hey um where do you live? Maybe dodger and Monty can have a play date sometime."
"Oh um I live (random address). You can come over whenever you like. I'm free tomorrow." You said. Chris nodded. "Okay, I'll see you later then. It was nice spending time with you y/n." You smiled at him. "It was nice spending time with you too Chris. Bye."
With that, you pulled out of the parking lot. Chris watched as your car vanished from his vision. He smiled as he tucked his hand in his pants pocket. He wanted to tell you he still loves you, but should he tell you so soon.
Chris walked to his car and got in. His mind and heart was telling him to do the unthinkable and he was really thinking he should do it, but he kept telling himself don't. Chris pulled out of the diner lot and began to make his way down the road to his house.
He shook his head as he passed your house. His heart was controlling him as he pulled into the front of your house. He turned off his car and got out, walking up the steps to the front door. His knuckles pressed against the door as he knocked.
Inside, you were sitting on the couch, a glass of wine in your hand, a sweater and panties on, and clean makeup Free face. You heard a knock on the door and you frowned as you sat your wine down, getting up. Walking to the door, you opened it slightly, looking out at who was on the other side. When you saw it was Chris, you smiled and relaxed.
"Oh hi Chris is there something wrong?"
Chris looked at you. "Um there's two things." You opened the door wider as you nodded, Chris walked in, turning to you. "One thing is you have my coat." You gasped, turning to the coat rack behind you. "Uh here you are." You handed it to him and smiled. " So number two?"
Chris walked closer to you. He hesitated, as he placed his hand under your chin. You looked up at him, Chris didn't know it, but butterflies were taking over your stomach. "And number two is this." Chris leaned down and placed his lips on yours.
You moaned softly as his lips touched yours. Chris began to cup your cheeks as he deepened the kiss. Your arms snaked around his waist, pulling at his shirt. Chris pulled away from your lips as you began to unbutton his shirt. "I've been wanting to kiss you ever since I left 20 years ago. He kissed you again, his tongue teasing you slightly before he pulled away. You pushed his shirt off his shoulder. Chris then pulled your sweater off. You didn't have a bra on and Chris looked down at your body with pure lush. "So fucking beautiful." He said. He kissed you again, but this kiss wasn't like the first one. It was more intense than the first, his tongue was in your mouth, he could taste the wine on your tongue.
You laughed as Chris began to stumble across your foyer. "Where is your bedroom?" He mumbled against your lips. You took his hand, "this was."
Chris followed you until you reached your bedroom. You shutted the door before you pushed Chris against the bed. He chuckled as you straddled him.
"I should be o-"
You cut him off with a kiss. Your wet panties grinded against Chris's rough trousers.  Chris gripped your hips, his left hand coming down on your ass check. You yelped, pulling away from Chris's lips.
"I just want to ride you Chris." You mumbled. Chris smiled. "Ride me sweetheart." He said in the deepest voice ever. You shivered at it and pulled back. Your hands slid down his chest until they reached his pants. You unzipped them and pushed them down.
You can see Chris bulge through his boxers and you beamed. You pulled them down and his cock slapped against his lower stomach. You took him in your small hands and began to stroke him. Chris moaned softly, looking at you. "Feel so good sweetheart."
You hummed, "yeah. Let's see how good you feel inside of me." You pulled your panties to the side before pushing Chris's tip into you.
Inch by inch you felt him stretch your walls. You and Chris moaned softly, as you slowly rocked your hips. He moved so well in your wet pussy, it was almost like he was made just for you.
"Oh Chris you feel so good." Your eyes were shut as you began to speed up. Chris gripped your hips hard as you took him. He was in literal heaven, loving the way you squeezed him.
He moaned. "Fuck sweetheart, if you keep squeezing me like that I'm going to cum." You looked down at him under you. "Well your so fucking big, I can't help it."
Chris laughed dryly. "Far enough."
He let go of your hips and placed his hands on your clit. He started drawing lazy circles on it and it made you whine out as you felt the coil in your stomach tighten.
"Fuck."
Without a second to spare, you came. Not even a few seconds later, Chris was cuming in you. You fell against his chest as you moaned uncontrollably. Chris wrapped his arms around you as you both rode out your high.
When both of your breathing slowed down, you sat up and looked at Chris. "Wow." You said. Chris laughed. "Pretty nice huh?" You laughed, taking his cock out of you. "Pretty amazing."
You laid yourself beside him with a sigh. "I can't believe we're here. I never thought I would see you again after you left."
Chris turned to you, "yeah me too. I regret breaking up with you, but hey this is the future and we're here together that's all that matters."
He kissed you on the check softly making you smile.
"Ok, I should get home to dodger. He probably misses me." Chris got up and picked his boxers off the floor.  You sat up, pressing your back against the headboard. "Yeah. I'll miss you too but I can manage." Chris shook his head at you. "You're adorable."
He zipped up his pants and looked at you. "I guess my shirt is your foyer, I'll get it when I leave." Chris walked over to you. "I'll see you later, I promise." You nodded before Chris kissed you.
After making out for a few seconds he pulled away. He walked to the door and opened it up.
"Oh Monty."
You saw Monty standing on the other side, he probably thought you were going to bed.
"Do you think he heard us?" Chris asked you. Your eyes widened at the thought of your son hearing you and Chris. "Oh gosh I hope not."

YouTube stars and LGBT+ influencers Dan Howell and Jessica Kellgren-Fozard on how they and their queer fans have helped each other through “radical bravery”.
Dan Howell, a comedian and one of world’s most popular YouTubers, and Jessica Kellgren-Fozard, lesbian YouTube star and disability advocate, have had vastly different experiences as queer content creators.
The two LGBT+ YouTubers spoke to PinkNews to mark the launch of The Rise, a YouTube campaign that celebrates diverse UK creative talent on the platform.
Having already made YouTube videos for 10 years, Dan came out publicly in June 2019, in a 45-minute video titled “Basically I’m gay”.
He described his coming out story as “very strange”, and told PinkNews: “Me already being this kind of obnoxiously, omnipresent public figure, I had to kind of go on this process.
“I’ve known how gay I was since forever, but had to go on the whole journey of not just working out how I would communicate that to the world, but truly reaching a point of self-acceptance.
“Because on some level throughout all of my life, I’ve accepted it but not really acknowledged it. I said: ‘I’m not ready yet, now’s not the time, I don’t know how.'”
Jessica, on the other hand, explained that she has “never struggled” with her sexuality, having always known she would be accepted.
“I have a very different coming out story to most LGBT+ people in that I was raised in a Quaker family, and there was never the expectation that I was going to grow up and get a husband and that this was the way things happened… So I’ve never struggled with my sexuality in that way,” she said.
While Jessica uses her online platform to discuss her life as an LGBT+ person as well as queer history, much of her audience comes to her channel for her disabilities advocacy.
She has two rare genetic conditions, HNPP and EDS, which affect her nerves and connective tissues. She is deaf, visually impaired and her conditions can affect her mobility with varying severity.
“Being a disabled and chronically ill teenager, I had this big thing in my life that was really difficult, and a real struggle, and being gay just paled in comparison,” she said.
“There was obviously the drama, the girls that I liked didn’t liked me, they always turned out to be straight. But that was the biggest drama.
“When I started YouTube, I was already married, it was already very much like, this is who I am. I’m gay, this is my wife. There’s no question. There’s no worrying about it.”
She added: “I like to think that that does, in a way, represent what our future is going to be –  that we don’t have to have these coming out stories where people worry about how they’re going to be accepted, and worried about the response they’re going to get.”
Dan Howell wishes he’d had queer role models like Jessica Kellgren-Fozard when he was growing up.
Dan Howell said that YouTubers like Jessica Kellgren-Fozard could have helped him immensely when he was discovering his LGBT+ identity.
“If there was someone like Jessica when I was a young person watching YouTube, I just know I would have had a profoundly different journey through life and coming to accept my sexuality,” he said.
“I would have been represented, I would have learned about queer history, I would have been seeing different relationships, seeing different personalities.”
From LGBT+ issues to disabilities and mental health, both Dan and Jessica have used their platforms to share their experiences in areas that are vastly underrepresented in mainstream media, showing their viewers many facets of their identities.
In 2017, Dan used his YouTube channel to discuss his struggle with his mental health, in a video titled “Daniel and Depression”.
“There’s many aspects to a human,” he said. “I’ve always come from a place of just talking about whatever’s on my mind, or whatever is important to me.
“It was quite a jump for me to make that first video about mental health, opening up about depression out of nowhere was quite scary. Because even three or four years ago, it was still more of a taboo topic.
“I tried to do it in my own way, which is to kind of inappropriately joke about it at my own expense, and try to make it a storytelling experience. That’s just the same as everything else I do.”
Jessica said that from her point of view, “the best representation is always ‘happens to be'”.
“It’s the idea that you have a character who’s going on an adventure, you have someone who’s talking to you about makeup, and they just happen to be gay. Because otherwise we’re not really going to be reaching outside of our own echo chamber.”
She explained that some viewers end up watching 10 of her videos without ever realising that she’s married to a woman, which she thinks is “the best way to kind of have any change and effect on the culture and and people in the world”.
“Because if we’re always trying to preach to the choir, we’re not really going to get anywhere,” she said.
“But if people are thinking so-and-so on TV is absolutely amazing and then later find out that they’re gay, maybe they’ll be changing some preconceived notions.”
“It’s this kind of sneaky, insidious way that the gay agenda will thrive and inevitably take over the world,” laughed Dan. “Winning hearts and minds.”
One particularly heartwarming example, Jessica said, was when a fan used her videos to come out to their parents.
“She was raised in a very religious household and her parents were not at all open to the idea of homosexuality. In fact, if they were watching television, and something came up relating to the subject, they would immediately turn it off, change the channel, perhaps say something wasn’t particularly lovely.
“She was sat there feeling like, ‘Oh, am I ever going to come out my parents?'”
The fan decided to curate a playlist of Jessica’s videos to show her mother.
“It started with videos that I made about my religion,” she said, “and then transitioned to fashion and videos about history. And just slowly, each video was a slightly gayer video.”
“Her mother became a fan within the first 20 videos. She was like: ‘This seems like a good role model for my child.’
“Eventually [she realised] this role model has a wife and is gay, and is OK with this. And her parents are religious and OK with her being gay… I was able to provide a tool for someone to do that to come out in quite a safe way to their parents.”
The “radical bravery” of his queer fans helped Dan Howell come out.
Dan Howell, on the other hand, said that his fans were the ones who helped him feel safe to come out.
While still in the closet, he said he found it “difficult” that he viewers saw him as someone who was always “open and honest” with them, especially after sharing his experience with depression.
“I went on a world tour in 2018… I was doing these meet and greets, and people would genuinely pour their hearts out to me, and they would talk about everything they were going through in their life,” he said.
“They would talk about illness, they would talk about mental health. And so many people talked about sexuality, just because the community that had been created had this attitude of acceptance and growth and coming together and wholesomeness.”
While he understands that there was “no presumption [he] was a homophobe”, he found it confusing when people would tell him that he had inspired them to come out.
“It was difficult, because I stood there feeling like I was a sham. People were saying: ‘I feel strong enough to say this to you, because you’ve been so open and vulnerable to me.’ And I was just stood there like: ‘Well, actually, I feel like there’s the biggest part of me that I haven’t even yet gone on the journey to acknowledge myself.’
“I mean, I’ve had people that came out to me in front of their parents, because they felt like they were in a safe environment, and that’s crazy.
“The radical bravery of some of these people is what made me think if I was feeling like a little scared dog in my apartment, looking in the mirror like a chihuahua, thinking: ‘How am I ever going to come out publicly at this stage of my life?’ I would think well, actually, look at the younger generation.”
In the ‘chaos’ of the internet, queer YouTubers like Dan Howell and Jessica Kellgren-Fozard building valuable communities.
While the internet can be a scary place for queer folk, Dan Howell and Jessica Kellgren-Fozard are determined to use it to build community and acceptance.
“I think that we don’t talk enough about the wonderful sides of the internet,” said Jessica.
“How it allows people to come together and create a community, how it gives us access to education that might before been blocked to us, how we’re able to actually learn from people who come before us.
“I really like talk about queer history, because we’re one of the only communities and minorities that can’t pass down out knowledge through the generations. Because you know, gay people don’t necessarily have gay kids.
“We often miss out on learning from our elders and learning what’s come before us. And I think it’s really important and lovely that we talk about and validate and really cherish these communities that are available to us on the internet.”
Dan added: “When you look at the chaos of the internet and various online communities, I think it is good to see when people are creating content that can make people feel better.
“For all of the terrifying chaos of the freedom of the internet and creating on YouTube, it also lets people emerge that may not have been represented, you can create the content that you wish someone was making for you.
“And I think that’s one of the best things.”

Chapter 15
Tumblr media
"How does the Waldorf Astoria grab you?" Frank asked, looking up from the screen he had open on his phone.
Fliss, who was busy at the dining table with her nose buried in diagrams and goodness knows what else she had spread over the surface for lesson planning, glanced over to where he was sat on the new sofa, watching her over the back of it.
 "What?"
 "For New York"
"Frank, I'm not following you, babe…"
"I said we were gonna go this December. Take Mary for the snow." He looked at her, "did you forget?"
"Actually I did..." she said with a chuckle as she dropped the pen she was holding "but that aside, it's only just gone May!"
"Yeah but I was talking to Simon and he says it gets booked up pretty quickly so thought I'd start looking.” He shrugged "There’s a pretty good offer on at the Waldorf. Start of December, Thursday to a Sunday…taking her outta school shouldn’t be a problem…”
He stood up and made his way over and handed her the phone, leaning over her from behind with his palms flat on the table as she scanned the info. He glanced down and saw her face split into a smile.
"It’s a dream isn’t it?" She turned her head to look at him. "To go to New York and stay in the Plaza or here..."
"Shall I book it?  He asked and she bit her lip and gave a little nod.  With a smile he took the phone from her and dropped a kiss to her lips.
"How much is it?" she asked
 "Doesn’t matter..."
"Frank..."
"Fliss..." he mimicked her and she rolled her eyes and Frank met her look with one of his own, raising  an eyebrow watching her carefully. Since their bare all conversation a few weeks ago, things had been a little different between the pair of them. Not bad different, quite the opposite. Fliss seemed less tentative towards certain things now, she didn’t try to hide the way she was feeling when certain things made her uncomfortable and Frank didn’t get or feel as frustrated when she thanked him or praised him for doing things that to him didn’t warrant it.
Greg had been amazing, not that Frank had expected anything else, and been nothing but patient and sympathetic with Fliss. He’d written the Victim Impact statement for her, taken her through it, listened and made the amendments she wanted before he’d filed it on her behalf, assuring her that her part in the process was now over and there was nothing more she could do. That in itself had been a huge weight off Fliss’ shoulders, and she admitted to Frank that the thought of John getting out made her more angry than scared, which Frank was secretly pleased about. He didn’t want her to be scared, at all.
It had been the first big hurdle their relationship had reached, and Frank was both relieved and pleased to see they’d made it through, and although he didn’t think it had been possible, he felt even closer to her now. And he wanted to spoil her. Just because he could. And because she fucking deserve it.
“Come on, let me treat you…" he coaxed, and when she gave him a small smile he mimicked her, knowing he’d won her round.
"Ok." She said smiling "but I'm paying for our take out tonight."
 "Deal."
Frank straightened up, phone clutched in his hand as he headed over the drawer in the kitchen that held his wallet. Grabbing his card he leaned on the unit, keying in the information the website booking form required and a few minutes later it was done.
"All booked" he smiled and she looked at him. "We fly out at 10:25 the Thursday morning, home at 15:45 on the Sunday..."
"Why do they always have stupid times like that?" Fliss asked "like 10:25...why not 10:30?"
 Frank shrugged "No idea."
Fliss paused and then gave a little squeak and pushed her chair back before she skipped over to him and threw herself into his arms. With a chuckle he caught her, hands wrapping around her back.
"New York, in the run up to Christmas!" She beamed as he kissed her softly. "I can’t believe it"
"Well you better as I'm gonna need to get some warm clothes...for the first time in years." He mused and Fliss laughed as her feet hit the floor again.
“We can get matching shit Christmas sweaters with huge reindeers or something else equally as gaudy on the front.” she grinned.
 “No.” Frank shook his head
“Oh come on…” Fliss teased. “You wear hideous shirts all the time, what’s the difference? Or would you prefer a jumper with a giant palm tree or a yacht on it instead?” “Fuck you.” He shot back and she gave a loud laugh, her head falling back slightly before she recovered and grinned at him.
"Gonna tell Mary?" She asked and he nodded.
"On her birthday. Can be part of her present."
 "What can?" The girl asked.
"Well if I told you that it wouldn't be a surprise would it?"  Frank looked at her.
"Guess not." Mary shrugged. "What time are we seeing Evelyn tomorrow?"
 "Lunch time" Frank said.
“And then after you gonna come help me with Monty?” Fliss looked at Mary.
Mary nodded “Is his leg better?” “Almost.” Fliss assured her. “He needs another week or so rest I think. But I think his days as a riding school pony are over.” “Are you still going to have to rehome him?” Mary’s voice dropped at little and Fliss took a deep breath.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to, but he can’t cope with doing lessons every day. It would be nice for him to get a home with a family who can love him has a pet and just ride him a few times a week…but I’ll see.” “You ready to go to Roberta’s?” Frank looked at Mary and she perked up a little and nodded. “Ok, I’ll walk you down.”
“Night Lissy!” Mary grinned, heading over to give her a hug before they both headed out of the door.
Fliss looked down at her plans and then deciding she was done, gathered them all up and stuck them back in her folder, clearing the table. She really did need to give some more thought to what she was going to do with Monty. She had a soft spot for the animal but knew that he wasn’t going to be able to cope with the pressures of being a riding school pony anymore. The thing was, at almost nineteen he was still sprightly and far too active to be put out to pasture. The kindest thing to do would be to find a home for him, a little boy or a little girl to love him as a pet…and then it came to her. A simple solution, that was a win-win for everyone involved.
Why hadn’t she thought of it before?
“Hell no!” was Frank’s response when she ambushed him with her idea the minute he walked in the door, flopping onto the sofa next to him. “Absolutely fucking not!”
“Oh come on!” Fliss looked at him. “It won’t cost anything.” “You said yourself you can’t afford stables to be clogged up.” “We can build him a smaller one, round the back on the end of my private block.” Fliss shrugged
“By we, you mean me…” “And Dad.”
Frank sighed “You’d still be out of pocket…you already refuse to take money for her lessons as it is.” “Yeah, because your my boyfriend and I’m not taking money off you for Mary’s lessons.” “Exactly, so how much would you be missing out on if you were renting the stable to someone else? And don’t lie as I’ll look it up on your website.” Frank shot her a look.
“For a pony his size, about Forty-bucks a week, but it doesn’t cost me that. Anyway, it doesn’t matter as I’m not I’m not gonna be taking money off you for her pony!” “It’s not her pony.” Frank rolled his eyes.
“No, but he could be…” Fliss grinned.
 “Fucks sake…” Frank groaned.
 “That a yes?”
“No, it’s a for fucks sake. You’re exasperating at times.”
She paused for a moment before she bit her lip and crawled across him, straddling his lap, grinning as he looked up at her, eyebrows raised.
“Is it a yes yet?” she asked, rolling her pelvis down, making his breath hitch as he felt the familiar arousal blooming in his crotch.
“Are you seriously trying to seduce me into letting you give Mary a pony?” he snorted.
 “Is it working?”
 “No…”
“Really?” she asked. “Because the bulge in your pants is telling me otherwise.” “Stop it.” he warned her.
“Stop what?” She asked, rolling her hips again.
“I mean it Lissy…” his voice was low.
She did it again, and he took a deep breath before he quickly pivoted them so she was led underneath him, causing her to shriek in surprise. She grinned up at him before his lips crashed onto hers. Fliss wrapped her arms round his neck as his hands crept to her hips, settling just under the hem of her top as she placed both hands on his face, the pads of her finger tips cupping his jaw through his short beard. She broke away this time to breathe, head resting on the arm of the couch and he dropped his head, pausing his lips inches from her neck.
“You gonna shut up about the damned pony?” he asked.
 “No.” she said stubbornly.
“Alright…” Frank sighed, and she gave a little giggle as he pressed his mouth to her neck. He gripped her hips again and they gave a little jerk of their own accord, pushing up against him and they both groaned slightly at the contact. At the noise Frank pulled back to stare at her again.
“Gonna shut up yet?” “Make me.” she teased, pushing her head upwards, lips crashing onto his and her hands slid under his t- shirt. His muscles twitched under her touch as the sensation of her gently dragging her nails caused him to groan as desire lanced through his entire body like red hot pokers.
“Oh, sweetheart…challenge accepted…” he muttered he grasped the bottom of her top. She moved her arms and sat up slightly as he pulled it up over her head, her hair falling around her shoulders, his lips catching hers as he gently slipped one strap of her bra down at a time placing a soft kiss on each of her shoulders. Her breasts spilled over the tops of the cups and his groin twitched, the crotch of his jeans now painfully tight. Her hands moved to the hem of his T-shirt and he held his arms for her to yank it off. Once he was free he kissed her again his rough hands gently sliding up her rib cage to her chest, delicately squeezing and kneading the soft flesh and white lace, before his hand slid into the cups, teasing her taught nipples with his thumbs. She groaned gently, arching her back as his groin bumped against hers. He was gently at first, before his rocking became harder, and Fliss buried her fingers in his hair, pulling, hard, forcing his head back sharply. As she tugged he let out a low growl and when she let go he stared down at her to see her smirking as she watched him, his pupils blown so wide there was hardly any blue left.
The rhythm of his hips was growing more frantic and their kisses were growing more desperate. "More," she moaned into his mouth, and he obliged in the best of way moving his hips even faster, rubbing against her through the barrier of their clothes in ways that had her clutching at his back like her life depended on it. As he continued to rub against her, pushing her into the soft cushions of the sofa, it wasn’t long before the tell-tale tightening across his lower stomach warned him he was fast approaching his release
"Lissy, tell me your close baby, please?" Frank begged because of course he wanted to get her there first. He had to smirk at the fact he’d finally shut her up, as it was all she could do to moan brokenly, her words no longer forming coherently, and she gave a nod as his mouth fell to that spot on her neck which drove her wild. She tipped her head back as he gently nipped beneath her ear with his teeth and a few more thrusts of his hips against hers and she was done, fingers wrapped around his hair as the lights exploded in front her eyes and she felt the coil in her stomach unravelling as she came hard underneath him, hips bucking upwards, almost violently. Her voice was broken as she gasped out “Frankie…”
He loved it when she called him that, her name for him, the name that no-one called him other than her. It tumbled from her lips so easily, and seeing and feeling her fall apart in his arms sent him over the edge right behind her in a pure surge of ecstasy. His head dropped to the crook of her shoulder and she gently ran her fingers through his hair as they both breathed deeply as they waited to regain control of their bodies. Eventually both of them evened out and he raised his head to look at her, to find her smirking a little, her eyes twinkling with what looked like humour.
“What?” he managed to ask, his nose sliding against hers.
“So, about Monty…”
“For fucks…fine, she can have the damned pony.” he groaned, dropping his head to her chest and she grinned, as one of her hands ran up and down his spine causing the muscles in his back and shoulders to gently twitch at her touch.
“I’m starving.” she said, as he raised his head to look at her.
“I’ll order food.” he said, “Then I think I should probably shower before it arrives…seeing as I just shot my load in my pants like a fourteen year old kid.”
“I’ll go start it running.” she bit her lip and he grinned at her as he pushed himself up off the couch before offering her his hand. She took it and he pulled her up, dropping a kiss to her forehead as his gaze once more dropped to her chest. With a certain glint in her eye she turned around and sauntered to the doorway before she stopped, and turned to look at him over her shoulder. “Best hurry before I use all the hot water.”
As she walked off down the hall, her hips swaying slightly, Frank was hard again like it had never left. Grabbing his phone he ordered the food before he shot off to join her.
***** “Evelyn.” he greeted his mother as she stood up from the table she was sat at which was outside the back of the small café bar, overlooking the beach.
“Hello Frank, hello Mary.” she greeted them both.
“Hi.” Mary smiled, settling into a seat and Frank took the one next to her. After an awkward moment of small talk, the waitress arrived and Frank ordered himself a beer and a soda for Mary, Evelyn taking an ice tea.
“So, how have you been?” Evelyn asked, her question directed to Mary, which was fine by Frank.
“Good.” Mary said and she launched into an explanation of everything that had happened in her life since she had last seen Evelyn as Frank had taken her home from Tampa. Frank was listening, vaguely, simply observing how easy Mary found it to simply forgive and forget everything that had happened. But then again, she was merely eight years old (well, as of tomorrow anyway) and that was the beauty and innocence that came with childhood he supposed.
“And then we moved into the new house.” Mary said as their drinks arrived. ”Fliss stays with us a lot, she practically lives with us now…Frank says she will do properly at some point but not yet.”
“You moved?” Evelyn looked at Frank who nodded.
“Part of the conditions of me getting Guardianship.” he said simply.
“Have you moved far or…” “It’s on the same park as our old one but it’s bigger” Mary answered for him. “My room is awesome, it’s blue and I have a cabin bed with a desk underneath it and a big TV.” “Still fixing boats?” Evelyn asked and Frank rolled his eyes.
“Mother.” “I’m just asking.” she held her hands up.
“Yes, I am. But I’m working for someone now. A friend of Fliss’ dad, he has a repair-shop attached to a sales place. Good wage, health insurance.” he added, unable to stop himself and he saw his mother’s mouth twitch.
“I’m impressed. I never thought I’d see the day”
At that point, Mary announced she was hungry and the three of them studied the menus, before Mary decided on a cheeseburger and fries. Frank opted for a steak hoagie whilst Evelyn went for a salad
“How long are you in town for?” Frank asked her as soon as their order was taken
“Until Monday…” Evelyn said “I thought, if it’s ok that is, that maybe I could take you all to dinner tomorrow for Mary’s birthday”
Ok, so that was unexpected.
“We can’t.” Mary said “We’re going to Verity’s like we do every Sunday. That’s Fliss’ mom.” she explained “We play in the pool and then she does a big Sunday dinner and makes ice cream sundaes or pies…but tomorrow she’s doing me a special birthday cake.”
“That sounds very nice.” Evelyn replied
“You should come. Roberta is….” Mary added.
Oh, for fucks sake…
“Mary…” Frank began but she turned and shrugged at him, recognising his warning tone.
“What? Verity says it’s my special birthday dinner so I could pick what I wanted to eat and I could bring someone…”
“Yeah and you chose to take Roberta…” Frank looked at her “Verity already does enough for you…”
“It’s okay.” Evelyn said, hastily cutting him off. “Thank you for the invite Mary but, well let’s see shall we?”
The rest of the afternoon was reasonably pleasant, well as pleasant as it could be. Mary told Evelyn all about what she was doing at School and then Evelyn filled Frank in a little bit on what she’d been doing with Diane’s work. Frank could tell she was surprised when he told her he’d been following the process on the internet, and when the time came to say goodbye, he promised he’d call her and arrange for her to be able to see Mary at least for some time tomorrow so she could give her the gifts she had bought.
Frank drove them to the yard and Mary shot out as soon as the truck had stopped, barrelling round the corner to go and see Monty. Fliss was busy teaching in the paddock and Frank spotted that Bill was in the Office, already screwing up one of the shelves that Frank had made ready to put up.
“Hey Bill.” he said, “You know I was gonna do that…” “Oh it’s no bother.” Bill smiled, “I’ve been fixing the door on the back barn anyway so…” “I was gonna do that too.” Frank chuckled.
“Yeah, well I told Fliss to stop asking you.” Bill shrugged, marking a spot on the wall to fix the bracket to “You work enough, weekends should be free.” Frank smiled, and then stepped forward to help Bill hold up the wooden plank whilst he made sure it was straight.
“How did it go with your mother?” Bill asked.
“Surprisingly okay.” Frank said “She was reasonable and seemed genuinely interested in how Mary was doing.” “She in town long?” “Until Monday. “Frank said.
“She coming to dinner tomorrow?” Bill asked, and Frank frowned, his head cocking to one side.
“You been talking to Mary by any chance?” “No, how can I?” Bill asked, looking at him “You just got here.” “Fair point.” Frank conceded.
“Why do you ask?” “Because that’s exactly what Mary did. Invited her. Thankfully Evelyn was tactful enough to put her off but…” “You should let her come.” Bill said.
“I’m not sure it’s a good idea.” Frank shook his head.
“Why?” Bill pressed.
“I just…” Frank took a deep breath “Her seeing Mary is one thing, integrating herself in to our lives is another.”
“Can I give you a bit of advice son?” Bill looked at him, and when Frank didn’t protest he continued “Don’t cut your nose off to spite your face. I know you owe her nothing, but if she’s reaching out here. Maybe think about giving it a whirl, test how serious she actually is and take the olive branch. That or look at it as giving her enough rope to hang herself. Either way, you win.” Frank didn’t really have an answer. And he didn’t until much later that evening when they were all sat outside the back of Bill and Verity’s with a few drinks.
And, of course, when he asked Verity if she minded accommodating one more person, she assured him she didn’t.
**** Naturally Mary was up at the crack of dawn the following morning, unwrapping a pile of gifts that Frank and Fliss had bought her. Some books, DVDs, new clothes, a pair of new sneakers and then after breakfast Frank took her out into the yard where she squealed when she spotted the new blue and pink BMX she’d asked him for. After she donned her helmet and did a few rides up and down the drive, demanding to know how long she’d need stabilisers for, Fliss emerged from the annex, Thor at her feet and gave Frank a wink.
“Mary, Joanna just called…” she said “I need to pop up to the stables for an hour. Wanna come?” “Yeah!” She grinned, and immediately set off biking back towards the house.
Frank announced that he’d come too and Mary didn’t’ give it a second thought. They drove to the yard and climbed out, Mary shooting off straight to see Monty.
Frank took Fliss’ hand in his as they followed, and finally caught up with her as she was stood, her mouth hanging open at the fact that Monty’s door had a huge Happy Birthday banner on it, and the white pony wore a bow around his neck. He turned his head to face them, completely nonplussed by all the fuss.
“I don’t…why is he…” Mary turned to Fliss then looked at Frank and then back to the pony “Is he wishing me happy birthday?” “Kind of.” Fliss said, smiling. “Open the card.” She grabbed the card that was tacked to the door and her eyes roved the writing inside. Immediately they widened and filled with tears as she looked up at the two adults in front of her.
 “He’s mine?” she whispered.
“Yeah.” Frank nodded, a lump forming in his own throat at the sight of how happy she was.
“For real?”
“For real.” he assured her.
“Like, really? Mine? No one else is sharing him anymore?” “No one else.” Frank shook his head.
She gave a loud squeal and threw herself at Frank, wrapping her arms around his legs. “Thank you!” “Happy birthday Stack.” he smiled, bending down to hug her back.
“You’re the best uncle ever…” “Makes a change.” he muttered, “And this was Fliss’ idea…you have her to thank.”
“Took me ages to persuade him…” Fliss grinned and Frank snorted, as Mary moved over and gave Fliss a huge hug
“You’re the best too.” she smiled, before the attention turned back to her new pet.
They spent an hour or so at the yard, Mary doing her first jobs as Monty’s owner, mucking his stable out, grooming him, filling his hay net up. Eventually they dragged her away after Fliss and Frank both assured her now that she had her pony she could come after school three nights a week and then both days at weekends to take care of him and ride when she wanted to. They picked Roberta up on the way home, and then once Mary had unwrapped her gift from Roberta which was another large lego set much to her delight, the three adults sat outside with a beer, Mary scribbling away in the new journal they’d bought her, no doubt writing about Monty, and then Frank received a call from his mother to tell him she was at the gate.
Fliss, Roberta and Mary headed over to the main house whilst Frank walked down to collect Evelyn. He didn’t miss the appraising look she was taking at the property as they walked back down the drive, Frank taking the bag of gifts off Evelyn politely. He introduced her to Bill, who was stood outside with Mary admiring her bike, and then Frank led her into the large entrance area of the old farmhouse.
Once the ‘pleasantries’, if you could call them that were over and Evelyn had met Verity and been handed a glass of wine, they all headed out onto the raised decking that overlooked the pool.
“This is…nice.” Evelyn said, as she took in the surroundings “I expected something different.” “In what way?” Verity asked, and Frank didn’t miss the way the woman bristled as his mother’s tone.
“Oh, just, well, seeing where Frank lives…”
“Excuse me?” Verity looked at the woman, frowning.
“What my mother means…” Frank butt in, glaring at Evelyn “is thank you for inviting her over.”
“Yes, I didn’t mean anything by it, I haven’t actually seen Frank’s new place yet.” Evelyn smiled, the expression not meeting her eyes “And, thank you of course.” “I didn’t invite you.” Verity shrugged “Mary did. And as it’s my little pud’s birthday who am I to argue…speaking of which, where is she?”
“Here!” Mary said, running out of the house, Bill following “I was just showing Bill my new bike!” she ran to Verity and gave her a hug and Verity smiled, wrapping her arms around her.
It didn’t escape Frank’s notice the way his mother was watching the pair of them, as Mary pulled back and asked if she could go in the pool.
“Dinner’s almost ready.” Bill cut in. “Well, that’s what my nose is telling me anyway. Maybe later.”
“On a full stomach?” Evelyn looked at Frank “is that really a good idea?”
“Hasn’t killed her yet.” Verity shot back. And Evelyn turned her eyes to the woman again.
There was a moment’s frosty silence, and Fliss turned her eyes to her dad, begging him to help. And he did. “Shall we go in?” Bill asked, “Someone has presents to open!” “Oh, yes!” Verity smiled, frostiness completely gone “Come on!”
Mary gave a squeal and Bill laughed, swinging her up easily onto his shoulders as the 3 of them headed up the steps. Frank followed behind, falling into step with his mother as Fliss hung back slightly, turning to Roberta when the woman spoke to her.
“Remind me who thought this was gonna be a good idea?”
Five minutes or so later, the Gallagher living room was on its way to being a mass of shredded wrapping paper, Mary sat in the middle of another pile of gifts which were from Bill and Verity, and also Evelyn. Evelyn had brought Mary some new Maths books, which Frank refrained from rolling his eyes at, and then Mary opened her mouth.
“I don’t read a lot of maths books now in my spare time, we’re reading Harry Potter.” she mused. “We’re on the fourth one now.”
“But they’ll be good for school.” Frank looked at her sternly.
“Yes, thank you Evelyn.” Mary corrected herself. Evelyn smiled and told her she was welcome, as Mary moved on to the next set, which Frank was surprised to see was a pile of seven Leather bound Children’s classics.
“I bought your mother something similar when she was your age.” Evelyn explained “I thought you might like them.” Mary’s eyes widened as she ran her hands over the cover of “Black Beauty” and looked up at Evelyn. “I do, thank you.” Evelyn had also placed a few hundred dollars in her card for her to spend on whatever she wanted, which she grinned at and informed everyone she was going to be spending it on new things for Monty.
 “Who’s Monty?” Evelyn asked.
“My pony!” Mary grinned “Fliss and Frank gave him to me this morning.”
Evelyn’s eyebrows raised slightly and she smiled “How nice…”
“Did you ever have a pony?” Mary asked.
“No.” Evelyn said, “But Frank and your mother’s Step-Father now has several.” Frank smiled, shaking his head slightly, the thought of that still amused him.
“Does he show jump?” Mary pressed.
“I believe he does western riding.” Evelyn shrugged “Although I haven’t seen him in a while.”
Mary nodded, taking the information in before she looked at Fliss “We should do Western Riding.”
“One day, maybe.” Fliss mused “I mean I do have the boots and the hat…”
Mary nodded “Yup, you do…” before she reached over to Bill and Verity’s pile, picking out the longest one.  Her eyes widened as she unwrapped the box, and glanced up at Fliss before she pulled the lid off and removed one of the long De-Niro riding boots. They were patent snake-skin effect leather, with a band of pink glitter around the tops.
“They’re…” Mary’s mouth flopped open “They’re like yours but pink!” she looked at Fliss, then turned to Bill and Verity.
“Fliss told us you liked hers.” Verity beamed at her. “So now you have your own pair.” After a scramble, during which Frank told her to calm down about fifty times, she soon had them on and Frank helped her with the zips as they were still a little stiff.
“You’ll need to wear them in like you did with your short ones.” Fliss said, “But these are ONLY for riding in. Use your other ones for yard work and stuff.”
“Damned girl!” Robert grinned as Mary did a cat walk of sorts, strutting down the centre of the room “Think I should get myself a pair…” “You don’t’ ride!” Mary gave Roberta a withering look.
“No but they’d look good with some jeans.”
As Mary began to point out to Roberta that she was being ridiculous, Frank looked at Bill raising an eyebrow. He knew exactly how much those boots had cost, as he had been looking into getting her a pair himself but then she’d told him she wanted a bike.
“I don’t suppose there’s any point in telling you off for how much you’ve spent on those is there?” he asked.
“Nope.” Bill smirked “Don’t suppose there is.”
 “She’s worth it.” Verity smiled.
Mary flopped down and opened the rest of her gifts which consisted of her own copies of the Harry Potter films on DVD and some vouchers for the Tack Shop and a book about horse breeds.
“Thank you!” she said, smiling as she stood up and launched at Bill who gave her a hug before she moved to Verity.
“You’re very welcome Pudding!” Verity smiled, brushing her hair back. “Now, someone said something about wanting a roast beef dinner!”
 “Can I help?” Mary asked.
“Of course you can.” Verity said, and she stood up.
“Boots.” Frank said, and Mary stopped
“But I need to wear them in.” “Not in here…” “Frank, she’s fine.” Verity soothed him “They’re clean…not that I care, it all vacuums up.” Frank shook his head “You let her get away with murder.” Verity grinned “My prerogative as her Pseudo Nana.”
“Do you mind if I use your bathroom?” Evelyn suddenly spoke up. Frank glanced at her, noticing that her face was overly passive, a look she had often worn with him when he’d done something she disapproved of but was refraining from passing comment. Seems like Verity’s comment had had an effect on her, not that she had any right to be upset, mind.
“Course, out in the hall, second on the left.” Bill nodded and she made her way out of the room.
“She ok?” Fliss asked, looking at Frank.
“Who knows, she’s Evelyn.” he shrugged by means of an answer.
Half an hour later they were all seated round the large table, tucking into their roast Dinner. Mary’s plate was piled with her favourite things, beef, mash, 3 Yorkshire puddings, and broccoli all accompanied by what looked like enough gravy to fill a bath tub with. For once Verity had foregone insisting Mary eat more veg, because who wants veg on their birthday anyway?
The conversation was polite, Evelyn thanking Verity for her food and complementing her cooking. Fliss was pleased to see her mother softening slightly. Evelyn was a very sore subject to the woman, given what she’d put Frank through, but both Bill and Fliss had warned her previously that if Frank’s mother was going to be a fixture in Mary’s life going forward, then Verity needed to accept that.
“Did you manage to get that wardrobe up, son?” Bill asked looking at Frank who gave a chuckle as Fliss hit his arm.
“Eventually…once we realised someone was reading the instructions out wrong.” “I warned you.” Fliss shrugged. “You should have paid someone to come fit it.” “I managed fine once my narrator had sorted herself out.” he rolled his eyes.
“What is it about men and their insistence on being able to do everything themselves?” Roberta asked.
“I’ll remember that next time you ask me to come fix something in your apartment.” Frank pointed his fork at her.
“So, you said you haven’t seen Frank’s new place yet?” Verity asked Evelyn who shook her head in response. “Any particular reason or…”
“I’m actually allergic to cats so…” Verity made to say something else but one look from Bill stopped her dead and she nodded. “Well, if you can you should pop a Benadryl and go over. Bill and Frank did the work themselves, and they did a very good job.” “Yeah and now Frank says Fliss is filling it full of crap.” Mary supplied and Fliss turned to Frank, who groaned.
“Oh did he?” “No, that’s…all I said was that you were buying too many throw cushions and stuff…”
“It looked boring.” Fliss shrugged “Needed colour.”
“I agree.” Mary nodded
“Course you do.” Frank rolled his eyes.
“It was too grey, Frank.” Mary said, mimicking exactly what Fliss had said “The cushions and the rug look good.”
“Well when you move out and get your own apartment you can fill it with all the cushions you want.” Frank looked at her.
“I’m never moving out.” Mary shrugged.
“Oh, trust me. You are.” Frank teased “Soon as you’re 16 I’m packing your bags and you’re gone.” “Whatever.” Mary rolled her eyes at his empty threat “We all know that’s rubbish. You told me I’d have a home with you for life.” “Yeah well I changed my mind.” “You can move in with me baby!” Roberta looked at Mary who grinned.
“You want her you can have her.” Frank said “Be my guest.”
“Oh behave Frank.” Verity scoffed “We all know you’d fight tooth and nail to keep her with you…”
Fliss let out an inward groan and glared at her mother who scrunched her eyes closed in an ‘oh shit’ expression.
“I didn’t…” Verity began, before she shook her head “That’s not what I meant.” “It’s ok.” Evelyn looked at her. “You clearly have very strong opinions on the matter.” “Which she will be keeping to herself as it’s not the time or the place.” Fliss said, effectively ending the conversation “What’s done is done.” She felt Frank’s hand squeeze her knee under the table before he reached over for his glass of water.
“Did Mary tell you she’s going to Camp this summer?” Bill said, swiftly changing the subject.
“Camp?” Evelyn tuned to Mary who nodded “How…nice.”
Frank fought his desire to snort at his Mother’s expression, because he knew camping was her idea of hell.
“Yeah I’m going with scouts.” she said “We’re going to…err…what’s it called again?” “Sandkey Park.” Frank said “In Clearwater.”
“Yeah, that’s it.” Mary said, swallowing another huge bite of food “We’re doing outdoor activities and water sports and stuff.” “How long for?” Evelyn asked.
“Five days.” Mary said “And then I’m staying with Verity and Bill for a weekend so Frank can take Fliss away on holiday whilst I’m gone.” “Anywhere nice?” Evelyn looked at Frank.
“Not decided yet have we?” Frank looked at Fliss who shook her head.
“And then we’re all going to New York in December.” Mary said, “ I can’t wait to see the Christmas Trees and lights and snow…” “You’ll love it.”  Evelyn smiled “New York at Christmas is magical.” Ok, now that surprised Frank. “You’ve been?” he asked, frowning.
“Your father took me the first Christmas we moved to Boston.” she said, looking at Frank “Did I never tell you?” “No, you didn’t” Frank said “I always thought you hated Christmas.” “I hated it without your Father.” Evelyn corrected him, causing him to frown even more, before she hastily recovered herself. “Where are you staying?”
“The Waldorf.” Fliss said, and Evelyn nodded her head, clearly impressed.
“Your new job must be paying well.” “It keeps me afloat.” Frank said simply.
The rest of the meal passed in comfortable conversation, and once everyone was finished Verity stood up, announcing that it was time for some coffee and cake. “How do you take yours Evelyn?” Verity asked. “Black, no sugar thank you.” Evelyn replied. “I don’t know how people can drink it like that, I find it too bitter.”  Roberta pulled a face.
“Me too.” Bill mused “Milk and two sugar kind of man.” “Well I find that taking it bitter helps me keep the mosquitos away.” Evelyn said, with a glance at Fliss, directly referencing their first ever conversation. Fliss choked slightly on her water and side-eyed Frank who was smirking into his glass. When Fliss looked back at Evelyn, she was surprised to see the woman was wearing an amused smile.
“Bit like Garlic keeps the Vampires away huh?” Roberta quipped.
“So that’s how to get rid of you!” Bill smirked, looking up at Verity who shot him a glare as she headed into the kitchen. Fliss got to her feet to help clear down the table along waving both Roberta and Evelyn back into their seats when they too rose to help and insisted that as guests they remained put.
An hour or so later after the candles had been blown out and the cake had been eaten, they all retired outside onto the decking, Mary finally getting her way and after a quick change taking a running jump into the pool. After a round of drinks, Evelyn announced that her car was here and that she should be leaving. After politely thanking them for their hospitality, she smiled and then Frank stood to walk her to the gate one Mary had bid her goodbye.
“They seem a nice family.” Evelyn smiled at him as they walked down the gravel Frank nodded “Yeah, they’re great. Brilliant with Mary too so…” “You seem happy Frank.”
“I am.” He nodded as he pressed the button on the gate to open it, revealing the silver Mercedes that was waiting.
“I’m glad.” she said, gently touching his arm. Frank glanced down at her hand before he looked at her, his eyebrow raised.
“You’re not going to try and hug me now are you?” he asked, a little playfully, but it was enough to make his point. That was the first motherly touch he’d felt from Evelyn in about 20 years.
“I don’t think we’re quite at that point, do you?” “Were we ever?”
“You’d be surprised.” she smiled at him “You were quite an affectionate little boy. Very like your father that way.”
Frank raised his eyebrows a little, as she stepped towards the car and he opened the door for her.
“You remind me a lot of him now.” she looked at Frank “Both in looks, personality, your mannerisms.”
“That why we don’t get along?” Frank asked as she climbed into the car.
“Who knows?” Evelyn said, with a slight smile “Thank you for this weekend. I’ll contact you about seeing her again soon if that’s ok.” Frank nodded “Like I said, as long as Mary’s happy then…”
With that he stepped back, closing the car door. He watched it drive off up the road before he turned and made his way back into the house, deciding that overall it hadn’t been that bad an afternoon.
**** “Stop bouncing on the bed.” Frank said sternly “It’s not a trampoline”
 “It’s like one.” Mary replied.
“Yeah well a mine field is technically a field but I wouldn’t let you walk through one…”
Mary flopped down onto the bed “Sorry, I’m just so excited.” “I can tell, but it’s bed time. It’s already late…come on.”
She scrambled under the covers and Frank perched on the edge of the bed as Fliss popped her head in the door.
“Just going for a shower.” she smiled, walking into the room to pop a kiss onto Mary’s head “Night honey.” “Night Fliss, thank you for the best day ever.” “You’re welcome.” Fliss said, straightening up before she headed out of the room. “I wish Fliss was my mom.” Mary sighed, and Frank looked at her, frowning slightly. “I mean, I know my mom loved me but…I never knew her.” Frank sighed, and ran his hand over Mary’s head “I know, Stack, but…well, she would be very proud of you, you know that.” “It’s Mothers’ Day in a week.” Mary said “I heard Fliss talking to Verity about it before, asking her if there was anything she wanted.” she reached out, her hand grabbing Frank’s, her fingers playing with his “Do you think Fliss would mind if I made her a card and maybe got her some flowers?” “I’m sure she would be fine about it.” Frank felt his chest tightening. He hated how wise and old she acted at times. “Now come on, lights out and…try and worry about something else, like how much Monty shit you’re gonna be shovelling from now on.” “The best type of shit!” Mary grinned.
“I’ll let that one go because it’s your birthday.” he pointed at her “But repeat that again, I’ll hang you out of the window by your ears.” She giggled as he stood up and dropped a kiss to her head, before he made his way into the bedroom.
As soon as Fliss was out of the shower, Frank was on her. His hands and mouth roving every bit of her body as he laid her on the bed. He was needy, wanting to feel grounded after the, frankly, surreal weekend he’d had and she was his home, the one person he knew he could rely on to keep him sane, and feeling safe. It was intense, and when it was finally over, they both collapsed, at the complete wrong end of the bed, tangled under a blanket, neither having mustered the energy or the desire to move.
As good as their sex was, no scratch that, as mind blowing as their sex was, he knew that Fliss craved the after moments just as much, where Frank would simply tenderly hold her, snuggle her, kiss her...treat her like a human instead of some kind of object there merely for his gratification and he was happy to oblige. They lay together, Franks left arm resting under Fliss' neck as her long hair spilled in a mass of waves off the edge of the bed as her face rested mere inches from Frank's, a dazed smile on her features. He smiled softly back at her, his right hand reaching up from where it had been resting on her hip to gently cup her face, his thumb stroking her cheek.
"What you thinking about Sailor?" She asked softly, looking onto his ocean blue eyes as he took a deep breath.
"How lucky I am." He replied.
She gave a soft chuckle as she scooted a bit closer to him, nuzzling her head under his chin. His arms both moved to wrap around her and cradle her close as he dropped a kiss to her head.
"Do you think Mary had a good day?" Fliss asked softly and Frank made a noise of affirmation in his throat.
"Are you kidding?" He looked down at her. “She got a new bike, her own pony, a library's worth of books, a tonne of money, a trip to New York, a ridiculously expensive pair of riding boots, which by the way your parents are still in big trouble for, and to top it all off she ate enough cake and roast beef to feed a small army. I'd say she’s had a fucking amazing day."
"I think it went ok with Evelyn too. Well in that no one drowned one another"
Frank gave a huff of a laugh as his hand ran up and down Fliss's spine "it's a sad state of affairs when that's the sign of a successful dinner...no one being drowned."
"You clearly don't know my mother that well." she snorted and at that Frank gave another small laugh, the vibrations from his chest passing to Fliss'.
“Speaking of Mothers.” he said, suddenly remembering his conversation with Mary as he had tucked her into bed before. “Mary asked me something before…” “Yeah?” Fliss looked at him.
“So, it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday.” His hand brushed Fliss’ hair back “And she asked me if I thought you’d mind her giving you a card.”
Fliss blinked for a moment, her mouth falling ever so slightly open.
“If you do, then it’s not an issue…” Frank hastily began but Fliss cut him off.
“No, I…” she took a deep breath “Of course I don’t mind…not at all. But do you?” “What?”
“Well, how do you feel about it?”
Frank shrugged “She gives one to Roberta every year, not a card about her being a mother as such, it’s more a thank you for everything she does…I suspect yours will be the same.”
“Feel like a bit of a fraud though.” Fliss shrugged. “Fraud?” Frank looked at her.
“Well, yeah.” Fliss shrugged. “You’re the one that does the hard work with her, I just get to do the fun stuff.” “I don’t think you realise just how much of an impact you’ve had on her since coming into our lives.” Frank said honestly “I notice things she does now, that she never did before, things which she’s blatantly picked up from you.” “Like what?” Fliss looked at him.
“She helps you with dinner…” “You never cook.” Fliss cut him off
“The way she’s far less serious…” Frank pressed on “The way she is with Monty, how she gets on with your parents…wants to buy damned throw cushions.”
Fliss chuckled, her hand resting on Frank’s bare hip “You know, you don’t give yourself enough credit for how she has turned out. I know you don’t look upon yourself as her dad but…well, you are. In everything but name and have been since she was six months old. Don’t sell yourself short.”
“So in conclusion you’re ok about the card?” Frank said, and Fliss laughed, recognising that for what it was. Him moving the conversation along, the way he always did when he was feeling bashful about praise.
“Yes, I’m fine about the card.” she smiled at him, her hand reaching up to run through his soft, fluffy hair.
“We should probably get in bed…” he mused, his eyes closed.
“We are.” “I mean the right way round.” “Oh…” Fliss sat up, and Frank heard the rustling of bedcovers before something soft hit him in the face.
“Problem solved” Fliss grinned as he reached up and grabbed the pillow she’d smacked him with, chuckling. Shoving it under his head he settled down slightly, arms round his girl, closing his eyes.

“Jimin, please,” you begged, not knowing exactly what you were asking for as you moved on top of him.
“Mm, what do you want baby bird?” Jimin smirked as he looked up at you, your breasts gently moving upwards every time you rocked your hips. “All you have to do is tell me what you want, and you know I’ll give it to you.”
“God, fuck me,” you both requested and moaned, throwing your head back in pleasure. It was now late morning on the day of the benefit, the day after you and Jimin had confessed your love to each other. The two of you had spent the last 15 hours having sex, and eating, talking and sleeping in between. You couldn’t remember the last time that you had felt this passionate about a person, and you were absolutely living for it.
“Want me to take control?” He wondered and you nodded your head, leaning down and pressing your chest to his. Jimin adjusted himself so that his feet were flat against the bed, and he began to fuck up into you.
“Holy fuck,” you gasped, gripping tightly onto Jimin’s forearms as he palmed your ass and fucked you harder.
“I can feel you gripping my cock baby,” he mumbled and you turned your head so that you could look at him. “You gonna come?”
“Fuck, yes,” you nodded before surging forward, connecting your lips to his in a sloppy kiss. You felt one of his hands leave your skin and you didn’t think anything of it, until he slammed it back down on your ass. You moaned against his lips, wiggling your ass back against his hands for more.
“You’re fucking shameless, you know that?” Jimin chuckled, lifting his hand and spanking you again.
“F-fuck, I-I’m coming,” you stuttered, your eyes almost rolling into the back of your head as your orgasm hit you hard. Jimin wasn’t far behind, his cum flooding into you. The two of you stayed like that for a few minutes, Jimin’s cock still lodged inside of you as you laid your cheek against his chest.
“Hey, you still with me?” Jimin chuckled and you nodded slowly as you lifted your head.
“Love you,” you whispered, making Jimin grin widely.
“Love you too baby bird,” Jimin replied, leaning forward and brushing his lips against your forehead. “Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.” You sat up and lifted your hips, letting Jimin’s cock slip out of you and you grimaced at the feeling of his cum following behind it. You moved over to lay down on the bed while Jimin sat up and got off of the bed, walking into his en suite. You waited patiently until he came back with two towels in his hand, one wet and one dry. He motioned for you to spread your legs and you did so, and he used the wet towel to clean up all of his cum from your inner thighs.
“Not gonna lie,” he spoke up while he did so. “Seeing my cum on you is kinda turning me on.”
“Don’t be a perv,” you giggled, humming in content afterwards when he used the dry towel to get the wetness from the wet towel off of you. He then threw both towels into his nearby laundry basket before crawling back into bed with you.
“Good morning,” you whispered as he wrapped his arms around you, and he hummed as you snuggled into him.
“Waking up to find you on top of me riding my dick definitely makes for a good morning,” he laughed, leaning forward and kissing you gently.
“But now I’m tired again,” you said.
“Well, you can go back to sleep for a few hours,” Jimin told you. “What time do you have to get back to start getting ready for the benefit?”
“Like at 5, since the benefit starts at 8 and we’ll have to mingle a little bit beforehand,” you replied.
“I’ll make sure to drop you off by then, ok?” He said and you nodded, a soft smile coming onto your face when he kissed you again. “Sleep baby bird.”
.........................................................
Even though the two of you only meant to go back to sleep for a few hours, neither of you ended up waking up until 4:45, meaning that you both had to rush through showers and getting dressed before heading back to the Blue House.
Once Jimin pulled his car into the parking lot where the security guards parked their cars, he turned off the ignition before turning to face you.
“How are you gonna tell Namjoon?” He questioned and you sighed as you shrugged your shoulders.
“I don’t know,” you said. “I kind of want to hold off from telling him tonight, since we have the benefit and still need to put on a good face for now.”
“That’s understandable,” Jimin nodded, reaching over and grabbing one of your hands in his. “I just want you to be sure that this is what you want to do.”
“Hey, I meant what I said,” you stated firmly, reaching over with your free hand and gripping his chin. “I love you and wanna be with you, and nothing is gonna change my mind.”
“I love you too Y/N-ah,” he smiled, leaning forward and kissing you. “Alright, come on. Let’s go in.” The both of you got out of his car, Jimin carrying your overnight bag for you as the two of you walked into the Blue House. You were immediately greeted by Momo, who looked like she was ready to murder you.
“Where the hell have you been?” She demanded to know as she walked over to you and Jimin. “Do you know what time it is?”
“Hi to you too, Mo,” you laughed.
“It’s almost 5:30,” she continued on as if she hadn’t heard you. “You still have to get into hair and makeup, and you looked fucked out.”
“Mo!” You exclaimed, looking around to make sure that no one heard her while Jimin choked/coughed loudly.
“You,” Momo said, turning to Jimin. “I’m glad that you’re making my best friend happy, but she has responsibilities and so do you. Now, I’d suggest you go change into your suit, Mr. Head of Security.”
“Yes ma’am,” Jimin smiled. He then turned to you and handed you your overnight bag, taking a quick look around before kissing you quickly and then walking away. You watched him fondly until he rounded a corner and you looked back at Momo, who was just smiling at you.
“What?” You wondered.
“You’re so lovesick and it’s disgusting,” she laughed. “What exactly did the two of you get up to last night, huh?”
“A lot,” you admitted with a huff. “I’ll fill you in later.”
“Good, because we have to get your butt ready,” she said, grabbing your hand and leading you off towards your and Namjoon’s bedroom.
.........................................................
Over the next hour and a half, you managed to get your hair and makeup done in record time. Just as your hairstylist was putting the finishing touches on your hair, Namjoon strolled into your bedroom.
“You and I need to talk,” Namjoon announced and you narrowed your eyes at him.
“Can it wait?” You asked. “I still have to get dressed.”
“No, it needs to happen now,” he insisted. Knowing that he wasn’t gonna let it go, you looked over your shoulder at your stylist Joohyun, giving her an apologetic smile.
“We all done?” You wondered and she nodded.
“Yep, just be careful so that you don’t mess it up,” she instructed you and you nodded. After she unplugged her tools, she quickly bowed before excusing herself and walking out of your bedroom. You then got up out of the chair that you were sitting in, walking past Namjoon and stepping into the walk-in closet that was connected to the bedroom.
“Did you not hear me Y/N-ah?” Namjoon questioned as he followed behind you, leaning against the door frame. “We need to talk.”
“I heard you but I’m a little confused on what the hell we need to talk about,” you shrugged, taking off the robe that you had on and throwing it to the side. You then grabbed your dress off of the hanger, which was a beautiful pure white color, strapless, and it had pearl detailing on the edges.
“We need to talk about where you were last night,” he said.
“I’m not talking about that,” you replied.
“Because you were with Jimin, right?” He accused and you just ignored him, focusing on pulling up the zipper that was on the left side of your body. “God Y/N, you can’t be this stupid.”
“Stupid?” You scoffed as you whipped your head to look at him.
“Yes, stupid,” he nodded. “Jimin is literally the head of our fucking security and now, because of you, his job is compromised because he’s attached to you. Usually, I know you’d keep things like that in mind but for you to blatantly disregard it, I wanna know what the hell you were thinking.”
“I was thinking that i finally met a man who made me feel good, and not just sexually!” You screamed. “Someone who gets happy when they see me happy, someone who worries about my feelings, someone who has the fucking decency to ask me how my day was! I’m sick of not getting my effort reciprocated and being in a loveless marriage!”
“You wanna talk about your effort not being reciprocated?” Namjoon wondered. “I literally groveled and begged you to forgive me for cheating that first time with Hyejin and you’ve done nothing but hold it over my head for the past eight months! It was a fucking mistake!”
“A mistake that you repeated just a few weeks ago!” You shot back.
“You ever wonder why I cheated with Hyejin in the first place? Or why I went back to her?” He questioned, ignoring what you had said. “It’s because after you miscarried our son, it’s like I either didn’t exist to you anymore or I was the worse person in the world.”
“Do not,” you spit harshly, glaring at him. “Bring the baby into this.”
“Why shouldn’t I?” He chuckled darkly. “That’s where everything went wrong, isn’t it? After we lost him, that’s when you weren’t able to look me in the eyes for six months afterwards. That’s when you screamed at me multiple times about how you miscarrying was my fault because I had just announced my run for President and I was never home and you had to attend all those fucking events and make nice and smile on my behalf.”
You were stunned into silence, because you truly didn’t think that that was the cause of all of this. Admittedly though, the time in your life when you lost your son was a tough one, to say the least, and it wasn’t one that you really remembered much of due to all of the pain that came along with it.
“I shouldn’t have cheated on you to deal with that pain, and I realize that,” Namjoon spoke up after a couple of seconds of tense silence. “I hate myself for hurting you and I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. But baby, this marriage has lacked love and reciprocation for much longer than you realize.”
“President Kim?” A knock sounded on the bedroom door and you recognized it as Jimin’s voice. “We should start moving now if we want to be on time.”
“We’re coming!” Namjoon shouted back gruffly over his shoulder, before turning his head to look back at you. Hearing Jimin’s voice spurred you into action, and you reached down to grab your high heels before slipping them on.
“You don’t have anything to say?” Namjoon demanded and once you finished strapping your heel, you stood up straight and looked at him.
“Later,” was all you responded with, grabbing your white clutch purse and moving towards the door.
“Y/N-ah,” Namjoon called, reaching out and grabbing your elbow as you walked past him.
“Let me go,” you fumed quietly and Namjoon thought that you were going to pull away from him but when you looked up at him and your eyes were brimming with tears, his heart ached. He immediately released you and you continued to walk past him, not sparing him another glance behind you as you yanked open your bedroom door and stormed out into the hallway, ignoring the stares of Jimin, Momo, and the rest of your security detail.
.........................................................
The entire ride to COEX Convention Center, where the Children’s Benefit was being held, was awkward and that was putting it lightly. You couldn’t allow yourself to dwell too much on the argument that you and Namjoon had just had because you knew that if you did, you weren’t going to be able to walk into the benefit and fake being happily married to him. Even a great actress like yourself had your limits.
As the limousine pulled onto the street that the convention center was on, there were massive crowds of people on both sides of the street and a huge line of other limousines that carried politicians, idols, actors and actresses, and other notable figures. You noticed Jimin walk past the limo that you and Namjoon were in in order to get to the steps where you and Namjoon would be dropped off, and you knew that he was doing it in order to be able to control the traffic and amount of people that would surround you and Namjoon.
After about a 5 minute wait, your limo had finally moved up in the line and you and Namjoon were going to be the last people to enter the venue before the start of the Benefit.
“I wish you’d say something,” Namjoon mumbled as he looked over at you, and you tore your gaze away from the window in order to glance at him.
“You want me to say something?” You repeated and Namjoon nodded. “Fine. I want a divorce.”
“....What about the arrangement?”
“Fuck the arrangement,” you cursed. “I don’t care about the potential consequences, I don’t care about what people may think of you or me, I don’t care about any of it anymore. I’m tired and I’m done.”
“Alright,” he relented and you felt the limo drive forward a little bit. “If that’s what you want.”
“That’s what I want,” you nodded.
“Fine, I’ll have our attorneys draft the papers,” he told you, turning towards the door and waiting until one of your security opened it for him to step out. The roar of the crowd was almost deafening at the sight of the President and you slid over to the door, grabbing onto Namjoon’s outstretched hand and stepping out as well. The cheers renewed once you appeared and you raised your hand, making sure to wave in every direction. You saw that Jimin was standing on the steps, speaking into his earpiece, while Taehyung, Jungkook and Momo were near the top of the stairs waiting for you and Namjoon.
You placed your hand in the crook of Namjoon’s inner arm, allowing him to lead you up the steps slowly, since you were being careful of the small train that was at the bottom of your dress. You were at the midway point of the steps, when you heard the first shots ring out.
BANG! BANG!
To you, it sounded almost as if firecrackers were going off. The shrill sounds of screaming filled your ears swiftly after, along with five more shots. You looked over at Namjoon and your eyes widened when you saw a quickly spreading red patch soak through his suit jacket. It didn’t take long for Namjoon to lose his footing from the impact, your hand promptly slipping from his arm as he fell backwards down the steps.
“Joon!” You screamed, dropping your clutch and gathering the bottom of your dress as you began to rush down the stairs to him. Just before you could make it, you felt someone grab you and cover you as they pushed you to the ground.
“Get off of me!” You shouted, fighting against them.
“Baby, it’s me!” Jimin grunted and you opened your eyes and looked at him, hearing the faint sound of more shots going off. “Stay down!” You moved your head and looked over to where you had last seen Namjoon, now seeing that your other security guards were shielding his body as they moved him back to your limo that was still parked at the curb.
“I need to go!” You shrieked, moving underneath Jimin’s body. “I need to get to Joon!”
“Ok, just wait a second!” Jimin yelled, shouting a few words into his earpiece and suddenly, another security guard was rushing towards you. He and Jimin both helped you up and covered you as they rushed you to the limo as well. You hurriedly climbed inside and the limo immediately pulled away from the curb and rushed out into the street, headed for the nearest hospital. Your jaw dropped at the sight of Namjoon’s body stretched out on one side and you quickly moved over to him, cradling his face in your hands.
“Hey, can you hear me baby?” You croaked, your eyes welling up with thick tears that blurred your vision. Namjoon blinked slowly and you could tell that he wanted to say something to you but you shook your head.
“Don’t strain yourself,” you insisted and your heart broke when you heard how labored his breathing was, so you turned to look at Jimin. “How far are we?”
“Only about two minutes out,” he told you, pressing his earpiece into his ear. “We’ll be there in less though.”
“You hear that?” You said as you turned back to look at Namjoon. “We’re almost to the hospital and we’re gonna get you help and you’re gonna be fine, alright?” You heard a puff of air leave Namjoon as a response, and you could only hope that you’d make it to the hospital in time.

Frantic -- Matthew Tkachuk (Pt.4)
Tumblr media
a/n: finally here with part 4!! it’s been a busy few days but I hope you guys enjoy! i think ths story has two or three parts left in it.
Part One   Part Two   Part Three
“Y/N hurry up! We’re gonna be late!” Emily screamed across the apartment as you were frantically throwing whatever clean clothes you could find into your open suitcase. It was creeping up to 8am and you guys were supposed to leave at 7:45 for your 10am flight. You weren’t completely unprepared, you had packed a few jerseys and a less than innocent red set to live underneath them but the past few days had been so busy you forgot to pack the rest.
The team was back on the road but this time to the west coast. Fortunately, you and Emily had just started your reading weeks so it only made sense you finally got to join the boys on at least part of their trip. Emily had never gotten to see Alberta before so it was the perfect opportunity to do some exploring. You were meeting the boys in Calgary for their day off and the Flames game then when they were off to Edmonton the two of you were off to explore. Mitch offered all the time to fly you guys wherever they were but you never wanted to impose. He was pleasantly surprised when you finally asked him for two plane tickets.
Barging into your room extremely pissed off, a look of horror crossed your roommate's face as she watched you scramble. She sighed loudly as she grabbed your hips and placed you in a chair in the corner of your room. She made quick work of your messy packing skills and threw in an extra hoodie and jeans in addition to socks which you had forgotten about entirely. You went to thank her but she pressed her finger to your lips, shushing you.
“The Ubers waiting lets, go.” If looks could kill you would’ve been a goner twenty minutes ago.
The drive to the airport was quiet. Emily had her head in her phone texting Nick while you stared at the city flashing past you. The past few weeks had been crazy. School was in full swing and was taking most of your energy. Spending ten hours a day in the studio left you little time to see anyone let alone keep up with what was going on outside of your bubble. You felt bad because you hadn’t been giving Matt as much attention lately. The two of you called and facetimed when you could but it didn’t feel like enough. He knew you were busy and was more than supportive but the guilt still pang in your chest and the thought of him losing interest ran wild through your mind. This trip couldn't have came at a better time, you figured surprising him was the best way to make up for the distance between you two lately.
Emily, still mad at your last minute lifestyle, kept to herself for the wait in the airport and most of the flight but she started to gush the closer you two got to your destination. You were so used to traveling growing up that it was sweet getting to see someone get so excited.
After collecting your bags it was a short drive back to the hotel. As you guys approached the entrance you noticed a group of girls probably about 15 or 16 in Leafs jerseys. When you walked past they got quiet and you could hear the whispers.
“Oh my god is that Mitch’s sister?” “That's definitely Nick's girlfriend!” “Ugh! This isn’t fair! She’s not even pretty enough for him!”
You reached and squeezed Emily’s hand as you kept walking. Just like the guys, you knew better then to respond to people because in the long run it hurts their career and relationships. It was nothing she hadn’t heard from others or hadn’t seen on social media but you knew it still hurt her just a little.
Dropping your bags with a thud, you hurled yourself at the nearest bed and let out a massive sigh of relief as you let the softness envelop your body. Emily’s laughter filled the room as she placed her bags down next to your and sat on the edge of your bed. You let out a small grunt as she shook your leg, trying to get you to sit up.
“Mini!” her voice was more stern then usually. “Come on, we didn’t come all this way for you to lay in bed. Let's do something!”
“But bed.” You pouted into the sheets.
She aggressively grabbed your arm, pulled you up and headed for the door. You wanted to protest but you knew it wasn’t worth it. It was a cold day so you both agreed that shopping was the best way to fill your time before you had to go meet the boys for dinner.
Matthew checked his phone a lot more these days. He was never really one to care if people had answered him or to be obsessed with social media but since you entered his life he was constantly looking. At first Johnny and Noah were really digging into him but they soon realized how important this girl was to Matt. She was known as the Rat Queen through the locker room because Tkachuk refused to reveal her identity but wanted to gush about how talented she was. Noah was the only one who knew who you were.
He supported Matt but he reminded his friend on multiple occasions that he has to be careful. Between tight inner circles and the looming presence of fans and press. You could never be too careful.
It was killing Matt just a little bit that he hadn’t seen you in so long but he knew you needed to be in Toronto. He dragged Noah with him CrossIron Mills to help pick out things to send to you in a care package. He had gotten the idea from his brothers girlfriend because she had sent Brady one while they were home for the summer in St. Louis. Back in his apartment he had a box with a few snacks and some of his old T-shirts and sweaters. All sprayed with his cologne.
He was on the hunt today for something special but he wasn’t quite sure what that was. The two boys had wandered into a record store and were just mindlessly looking to see if anything would catch their eye.
You were still empty handed after a few hours of walking around and you were ready to call it quits but Emily pulled you into Sunshine Records for one last stop. You parted ways and you made your way to the back of the store. Once again not paying attention to where you were going you smacked into someones back.
“I am so sor-” You looked up and were met with the same piercing blue eyes from a few weeks ago but this time he looked a lot happier to be crashed into. Picking you up, he spun you around and placed a soft kiss on your lips. Fireworks exploded in your stomach but before you could react it was over.
“What are you doing here?!” He exclaimed as he set you down, keeping his arms wrapped around your neck.
“I’m looking for the new Niall Horan vinyl babe.” You giggled.
“Not in the store Y/N! Why are you HERE?” He lets go of you and starts waving in hand in every direction, “In Calgary!”
“Ohh right. I was going to surprise you at your game tomorrow.”
“Well as much as that’s sweet I’m glad you ruined the surprise.” He pulled you in for another sweet kiss, making you melt even further. You both heard a cough and turned to see Emily and Noah standing a few feet away. The two of you pulled away and returned to your respective best friend. Noah extended his hand to you and the grip of his handshake is firm but welcoming.
“So you’re the famous Y/N that Chucky never stops talking about.” That comment earned Noah a swift smack to the back of the head from Matt.
You laughed slightly as you responded, “That's me. I hope it's all good things Chucky.” You sent him a teasing glance while you spoke.
“Oh trust me he is, you really got him wrapped around your finger. There was this one time-” Noah was forcefully cut off by Matt.
“Ah Ah Ah, that’s enough! I am so sorry to cut this story short but we have a team dinner to get ready for.” He started pushing Noah towards the exit as you and Emily followed.
“Calm down buddy.” His phone went off in his hand and said “It was lovely to meet you guys.” before rushing away to answer. Emily stepped away at the same time for the same reason leaving you and Matt alone.
He pulled you into another hug and he smiled as he felt you relax completely into his arms. He looked down at you and marveled at your face before he spoke.
“So if you’re coming to my game does that mean your finally gonna finally wear my jersey babe?”
“Awh sorry love, accidentally brought my Talbot jersey. Maybe next time.” A smirk covering your face. He frowned at you.
“You’re a monster.” Joking tone in his voice.
You pushed up on your toes and planted another kiss on his lips.
“Yeah but I’m your monster.”
“Yes, yes you are.”  you both stared aimlessly into eachothers eyes. Your moment was cut short by Emily’s return.
“Hey Y/n… That was my mom, I have to head home after the game tomorrow. There’s some family stuff I have to be there for. I’m really sorry.”
You pulled away from Matt and gave her a hug, tracing small circles on her spine to calm her down.
“It’s okay. Do you want me to come back with you?”
“No, no it’s okay, Nicks gonna come with me.” Her eyes were full of disappointment.
“Okay hun. Tonight we’ll reschedule all our hotels and come back out in May. How does that sound?”
“Sounds good but what are you going to do the rest of the week then?”
Piping up from behind them, Matt enthusiastically said “Come stay with me.”
“That’s very sweet of you Matts but I don’t wanna impose and how would I explain that to Mitch?” You knew Mitch would understand if you told him about you and Matt but you weren’t ready to take that step yet. Especially becuase you guys weren’t anything offical yet.
“We play Ottawa later this week so the family’s coming down to see it. Just tell him you're staying in town to see Taryn.” You thought about it for a minute because he had a good point. You hadn’t seen Taryn in about two years plus it technically wouldn’t be lying to Mitch.
“Fine.”
“Yay!”  Matthew mauled you with a quick hug and kissed your forehead. He gave you a quick goodbye and headed off to find his teammate. You and Emily finished shopping and headed back to the hotel to get ready for your night.
Even though the mall was pretty empty there's always someone around to see things. You guess someone saw you and Matt together today and tweeted about seeing the two of you. Adding insult to injury, Matt liked the tweet sending twitter into a tailspin of rumours. He really was a pest on and off the ice.
