look, i know everyone said that the new interview with the vampire show was incredible but holy shit i was not prepared for how incredible this show is

like, not only is louis interesting now, he is incredibly compelling! his once-bland internal dilemma is now given actual weight because it's not just the same old Thou Shalt Not Kill But I Am Hungry story, it's tempered through his righteous fury at how black people have been treated all these years, how many people have wronged him and laughed and expected him to laugh along, how his ties to the community that once saved him are now turning to nooses around his throat, how his family that he once provided for and relied on have now come to fear him

that, combined with his explicit homosexuality, and with lestat being the only one who seemed to accept him and love him for all that he is, and how that is both comforting and incredibly toxic and combined with sam reid's insane charisma and mania and gravity as lestat that make it completely understandable why louis would still be drawn to him in spite of everything

and how they've used the changes from the original to this one to examine how memory shifts regarding someone who was so intense and formative in your life even if they were ultimately so controlling and abusive but still left such huge gouges in your personality like knives

i'm sure i am not the only one who is very concerned about the ~4 hours between when the midjourney change was made, and I knew to go opt out of it, so; glaze does not need to be on all your works to be effective. in the same way that one artist glazing all their works will ruin a broad, multi-artist dataset, glazing your works moving forward will ruin any dataset trained on you. if out of 100 comics I've posted, 10 are glazed, a dataset trained on all of my comics will not be able to make anything similar to my style. anyways. go download glaze.

Almond's mom's almost instant transition from over protective, over bearing, potentially controlling mother to orchestrating their trip to help Peak and being clearly in full support of Almond and Latte's relationship AND Thanwa and Peak is really fantastic, actually.

as frustrating as Peak's continued inability to tell his father the truth is, i do appreciate the contrast between the parents and the situations- Peak has been hiding from his father because his father is trying to control where Peak lives and who he is with, and Peak is afraid of upsetting him so he has been hiding, and he's not been able to get up the nerve to tell his dad what is going on even after his father caught him kissing Thanwa, which has exposed his situation, and he remains unwilling to tell his father the truth so everything is getting worse for him; Almond has been hiding from his mother where he's living because she is trying to control where he lives (and with her belief in fortune telling, who he is with to a degree), and Almond is afraid of upsetting her so he has been lieing, but when his mother catches him out, he comes clean, gives her a tour, and is honest about his situation and the reasoning behind his choices, and she accepts all of this so everything for him is instantly better.

anyway i was sure i was going to dislike Mond's mom at first but then by the end of the episode she was great; Peak's dad had a couple moments peeking through that show he could also be capable of being a fun dad if Peak can be honest with him and allow him to understand what's going on. i think it's of note that he saw Thanwa and Peak kissing and didn't treat Thanwa rudely after that, he's just upset that Peak has run off and wouldn't talk to him and has been dodging out on his responsibilities at home. like when Jane shows him excercise moves to distract him, and Thanwa asks to join in, he's enthusiastic and friendly, so i have a feeling it'll be okay. this is clearly going to lead to a parent-child reconciliation, but idk i feel like the set up is actually laid in the story this time unlike a couple of the unearned ones we've gotten the last few weeks in other shows.

this got real rambly! oops. anyway. parental dynamics in Knock Knock, Boys! are interesting and i really love this show way more than i expected to, it is such a gem. for so many reasons.

i put pokemon card mystery packs on my etsy just now. just a stack of bulk from my year of collecting pokemon cards. i'll be turning in a bunch of bulk to the card shops, but I thought wouldnt it be fun to make my own mystery packs? i always loved goodie bags, grab bags, blind bags, and gacha. its a thrill of opening something and getting something unexpected more than the items themselves.

And probably Fugitive of the Judoon and The Timeless Children just because those are very important series lore episodes that are important to watch even if you very much disagree with most of the choices that Chibnall made
