I think Fluke's unhinged behaviour and massive freakout in the present makes more sense now that we've seen him in the flashback.
In the past, Fluke - although not bullied by the others - seemed to be the lowest in the hierarchy, and aware of it, too. In the group, all of the others had much bigger personalities than him: Por was the leader, Tee the second-in-command, Jin the charisma, and Top the clown. Fluke was quiet, and just kind of... there. A hanger on and follower who managed to get accepted into their group.
Although he never actively bullied Non (so far anyway), he also never intervened or spoke up like Jin did, instead keeping quiet. And when Non was framed for the camera breaking, he didn't speak up either, despite knowing it was really Top. To speak out is to go against the group, to go against your friends. You're accepted here, but only if you go along with the status quo. Stick your neck out and you might become the next Non. So Fluke turned a blind eye (especially as unlike Jin, he didn't care about Non).
Now, in the present, he's being punished and terrorised with the rest of them, likely for what happened to Non. And so Fluke's pissed. Fluke never wanted to be involved in any of this Non bullshit, he didn't get himself any more involved than necessary! The only reason he was involved in any of this was because of Por, Tee and Top! And from Fluke's perspective of an angry, resentful teenager, doesn't that just seem fucking unfair that he got dragged into this mess he didn't even want? And now he's getting hunted down by a crazed killer/ghost, has responsibility for one and then two lives on his own hands with hardly any medical training, White's snooping around and his future as a doctor - everything he's worked for, his mother's pride and love - might be jeopardised? By ep 4, that kid was barely hanging on. No wonder he lost his shit.

Idk why but i recently got back into UT content again, and x readers are inevitable— been stalking your works lol
Anyways, i am self endulgent and need comfort—
So, requesting just a little something with the Bad Sanses with a reader who is a very dressy and traditionally "girly" person, they love pink, they love poofy Lolita style dresses, they love playing around with fun make up designs and hair styles— but suddenly stopped wearing their usual fun and expressive get up due to someone insulting their behavior and fashion
Hope this isn't too much— love your writing tho! You're very good at it :]
Thank you! And Yo saaaaaame. I actually forgotten Undertale for quite some time and when Deltarune chapter 2 rolled around….well here I am with a whole blog! Now I can’t escape. I’m stuck now. And I’m bringing dat ass down with me- (I’m going to take a break from requests but I still did your request since you asked before I declared the break so I felt it would be unfair if I didn’t Y’know? So I hope you like it!)
Bad Sanses with Girly!Reader who suddenly stops expressing themselves
* They were pretty used to your bright colors and girly outfits. There were times Error would knit some dresses for you. Horror would help brush your hair while Dust styled it. Killer helped with your makeup (those anime cosplays of his helped contribute on this). Nightmare found your actions a bit too cutesy so it leaves him annoyed but he’s also the one who spoils you the most (clothes, makeup, accessories, he splurges once he finds some good stuff he knows you’ll love.)
* Nightmare could sense a lot of negativity in his office one day. He goes to the kitchen to see everyone peeping in from the doorway. They all jump noticing him but pointed out to you: their main cause of worry. There you sat with no trace of your usual attire or energy to match it. In fact your energy matched your current look: tired and gloomy. A complete reverse.
* You refused to tell anyone what happened. It made you feel a bit bad when they tried cheering you up. Killer tried his usual jokes, Horror with his cooking, Dust with his worried stare, even Error was willing to give up some of his precious chocolate to cheer you up. Unfortunately you just didn’t feel up to it. So they go to their last hope: Nightmare.
* Obviously he didn’t want to get involved and was enjoying the negativity but even his team knew he was concerned for your well-being as well. So he manages to talk to you and you finally admit that someone had insulted the way you acted and dressed and now you didn’t feel comfortable. It was obvious that you still wanted to but whatever that person said to you, it really upset you.
* Yo….tell me how everyone just dresses you up in your usual outfit. And they all hang around you suggesting all of you would take a small walk together. A bit terrifying for other strangers to see you heavily guarded but you actually felt safe. The person from before unfortunately spotted you and started talking that shit. The absolute FEAR in their eyes when the murder trio circled in on them. They only scared them off but I doubt they’ll let them go Scott free either (don’t expect seeing them ever again after that….)
* You all go home and they made you promise to tell them next time and that you are amazing just the way you are!
Mini Story Time!!!
Everyone was muttering while you and the Bad Sanses walked down the street. You felt so nervous….all their eyes on you….were they judging you? You felt Horror and Dust hold your hands and Nightmare’s tentacle gently wrap around your waist.
“Calm yourself….there is nothing to be afraid of,” Nightmare said softly, “Take deep breathes.” You did as he told and your nerves became calmer. You felt safe near them….much more comfortable.
“Oh great. That weirdo again,” The voice made you freeze up. Not again….The person that insulted you before approached the group, “Still wearing that crap? You look like a freaking clown. Makes sense when you have the whole circus following you around.” The person laughed along with some friends but went rigid when the murder trio surrounded them. Their friends also froze up.
“Heh….that’s a good one,” Killer said raising a knife to their face, “Since you wanna be a little jokester, why don’t I paint a nice big smile across that face? A proper clown has to make a biiiiiig smile~!”
Horror and Dust teleported behind them, hands on their shoulders. With their glowing eye lights and dark aura was enough to elicit a horrified scream as they ran off, their friends following suit. The skeletons were going to give chase but Nightmare stopped them.
“No need. I believe they have gotten the message. Besides best if we do it….another time. Wouldn’t want to scare our human here,” Nightmare explained.
“Heh….sure thing boss,” Dust said cackling a bit.
“You really didn’t have to….,” You said in a low voice.
But Nightmare heard, “It was absolutely necessary. Can’t let others think it’s ok to mess with our human now would we?”
You sigh but smile sweetly, “Thank you! You guys are the best!”
Error smiled, “There’s our human.”
“Aw you even got glitchy boi here all smiley,” Killer teased.
“Wha-?! S-shut up! Tear stained freak….,” Error grumbled.
You laughed making them all relieved to see you were already feeling much better. They all hugged you (well Error squeezed your hand. His own unique way Y’know?) and showered you with compliments.
“Alright….,” You giggling before hugging them back just as warmly, “Let’s go home.”

Dullahan Malik Al-Sayf
Tumblr media
Warning: beheading, no blood
It was already late in the evening and only a few children were hanging out on the streets and here and there a drunken high school student who didn't know their limits. You and Malik were headed to meet Kadar and Altair who were holding a small Halloween party that the rest of the party was supposed to be at.
You walked in the middle of the road, as it was closed to cars today, and you had a nice chat. Malik told you about Altair and how stupid he was again. Although he always spoke the worst about him, he would never betray him on the other side. Moreover, thanks to his words, Altair was able to motivate himself and overcome himself.
As you walked, there was a noise behind you. You looked over your shoulder to see a group of about six drunken students wearing masks. You leaned closer to Malik and took his hand. He also noticed them, but he didn't show his worries. He gave you a reassuring little smile and you picked up your pace slightly.
However, this did not deter the students at all and they continued to follow you. You heard them start to run and get dangerously close. You'd rather run away too. You looked at Malik and wanted to suggest that it would be best to take it elsewhere.
But before you could say that, the students caught up with you and knocked Malik's head off. Literally. As if he only had it on there. With horror in your eyes, you watched as it separated from his body during the impact. His hand let go of you in a futile attempt to grab his head. However, another student pushed him and his body fell to the ground, while his head continued to roll a little further.
You stood there transfixed. Your brain was trying to process what had happened and couldn't control your mouth, which opened in shock. You didn't even have time to scream when the rioters took your boyfriend's head by the hair and started throwing it between them like a ball.
"Look, I have a head!" "It’s disgusting!" "Blah!" they yelled at each other as they threw it at each other. However, one more voice could be heard in their uproar.
"How about we trade it for the head of the statue in the square?" suggested one in a clown mask as he was about to grab Maliks head. As he was grabbing it, the head bit into his hand. The young man screamed rather in shock and threw it aside again.
Before you could decide what to do in such a bizarre situation, Malik's head landed in your arms. You almost dropped her. The others looked at you before walking over to you. At that moment, as if your body finally reacted, you ran away with his head.
You looked over your shoulder when you heard a startled yelp. Something completely different caught the attention of the students and it was as if they had forgotten about you. Panicking, you hid behind the nearest bush that still had enough leaves left to cover you.
You sat there curled up with his head in your lap and at that moment it didn't even occur to you to put her aside or call the police or an ambulance. You tried to calm your panicked beating heart when suddenly Malik's head spoke.
"You don't have to hold me so tight. You'll crush my head," he complained. You cried out in shock and almost tossed him aside. You had to control yourself a lot not to do that.
"W-what...? How?" You originally wanted to ask what, but you ended up asking differently and adjusted his head to look at you. It was so strange and real that you started to worry that it was all just some cruel prank.
"I promise I'll explain all this to you later, but right now I need to know what's going on around my body," he said calmly, weighing every word he said.
“Okay,” you said uncertainly as a shout from the street reached you. You cautiously peeked out of the bush. Masked students fled in all directions, except for a few brave ones who circled Malik's body, which, even without its head, stood firmly on its feet and with the movements of a killer, defended itself against their attacks. The most interesting thing was some sort of dark blue smoke or flame coming out of where his head should have been.
“Y/N what's going on there? he asked you as you seemed to have forgotten about him.
“Oh, sorry,” you said quickly before carefully taking his head in your hands and lifting it above the bush so he could see. When that happened, his body automatically went into a counterattack and could cover attacks even from blind spots. As if he could control his body remotely.
Soon the rest of the attackers also fled. You ducked behind a bush as one of them ran screaming towards your cover. Luckily for you, he didn't see you and just ran blindly in a random direction away from danger. He almost broke his nose when he jumped over the hood of a car and failed.
Once the screaming died down and everyone seemed to run away, you peeked out from your hiding spot. Malik's body was walking towards you with a slow step, staggering from side to side as if he were walking on the deck of a ship on rough seas, his good hand fumbling in front of him so he wouldn't bump into anything.
He tripped over his foot a short distance away from you and almost fell if you hadn't jumped out of your hiding place and caught him. As you supported him, your eyes drifted down to his neck.
You were afraid you would see blood, a spine, and other things you would normally see there, but there was almost nothing to see. It looked as if the place had been burnt as it was almost black. That smoky flame was forming from there. Like a real fire, you could stare into it forever.
But now was not the time for such a thing. You took his body by the hand and slowly led him to his head, which you had forgotten in the safety of the bush. In retrospect, it was a bad idea. What if someone stepped on his head? You immediately returned for her. His body followed you and awkwardly knelt next to you.
“Sorry, I'll help you,” you said, carefully lifting his head. You walked over to his body and wondered how his head was holding there. You'll ask him about it later. But now you wanted to put his head on his neck, but your hands were shaking terribly.
Once his head was in place, the smoky flames disappeared as they had nowhere to escape and there was no scar or mark on his neck from his head being somehow separated from his body.
"It's much better this way. Thank you," Malik thanked you as he rubbed his neck. "Are you okay?" he asked you as he noticed you shaking like a leaf in the wind. You just nodded your head.
You had no idea what to answer and you had the impression that it was all slowly weighing on you. He stepped closer to you and took your hand. You looked into his eyes, which were filled with worry and fear.
You didn't see that very often with him. You bit your lip. You had the impression that despite all this, he was the same Malik you knew. With another breath, you wrapped your arms around his neck, taking him completely by surprise.
“I'm glad you're okay,” you finally said. Malik chuckled lightly before hugging you as well.
"You're such a novice," he laughed.
"And what did you expect? It's the first time I've encountered something like this," you retorted, pulling away from him. You knew he was just teasing you.
"You handled it perfectly too. I admire that about you," he said pulling you closer.
“That's why I deserve some explaining then,” you replied with a small smile.
“That won't be a problem,” he said, kissing your lips. It was a short kiss and you could have easily made it longer, but you knew there would still be plenty of time.
Malik wrapped his arms around your waist and together you set out to find his brother where you were originally headed.
"Is Kadar like you too?" you asked him on the way.
"What do you think?" he answered with a question. You glared at him before answering.
"I'd say so. Did you always talk about it in Arabic?" you asked him, searching your memory for anything that might give them away.
"Yes and no. We don't just talk about that in Arabic," he replied.
“So anything you don't want me to understand,” you blurted out.
"Don't look at me like that. There's a bigger story."
“I'd love to hear that one,” you nudged him lightly.
“Maybe later,” and he pulled you closer.

sorry i'm gonna be a hater out in the open for a bit but i am going insane at the common opinion that saito is like a threatening presence who has a lot of impactful screen-time no he doesn't he sucks he's so boring he's the most boring guy in the whole series rohan is more interesting than he is and rohan is also boring i literally. what??? you guys feel threatened and intimidated by saito?????? he's so bland! he's not even a good cartoon character! he has no charisma, and it's like not even on purpose, the voice actor in either version is trying SO hard, but like the material they have to work with is hot garbage.
like they want saito to simultaneously be a cocky spoiled brat and a calculating mastermind at the same time, but he already failed at the latter because his plan sucks and he's driven by impulse. you could do something interesting with that, like saito wants to feel more clever and in control than he actually is, but they like don't. the thing that enables saito to get away with everything, because he leaves evidence all over the place all the time, is he's using state tech he stole that allows him to swap bodies, and he hid it in a forbidden ward of tokyo, both of which happened before he started doing all this shit, and neither of which he would have gotten away with if he wasn't an impulsive jackass who wanted to swap bodies for funsies leaving both him and date incapacited, and then he got mad about it.
he fucking isn't even getting away with his og kills by his own merits he has yakuza backing and daddy's money. he had a whole year to figure out the people date is close to and he doesn't try to kill mizuki??? he is not clever, this is not well planned, nothing about this is intimidating, and i spent the whole game before the reveal just trying to figure out why all the sus people keep dying, because the new cyclops serial killer is more of a mystery than a threat. all this DOES work for establishing the rich brat angle, i'll give the writers that, but no one talks about saito like he's an brat who fails at everything he does (including the one thing he likes to do), upon the reveal they're too busy being fucking ableist for an hour about him like.
saito's motives that could be less ableist if they leaned into his beef with his dad more, but they don't it's treated as like a footnote, they go real hard on yelling "HE'S JUST CRAAAAAAZY MAN HIS BRAIN WAS BORN EEEEEVIIILLLL SO HE MUST DIE" and like. yikes. but also. BORING. the daddy issues would be more interesting, a lot of the first game is about family, they have hints of it, but it's absolutely drowned out by the rampant 'wow those birth defects really do make the worst people ever good thing we killed that one.' and this is his only real screentime too, because the rest of it is deliberately obfuscated bullshit in the name of the bodyswapping twist.
most of his screen time he's impersonating other people in a vaguely passable manner, and he only gets away with it is because odds are you don't really know what iris is actually like yet, and date sure doesn't on the entire red side because he doesn't remember his life as falco, and he only GETS his memories back by hanging around the real deal like. he's a garbage actor, something quite noticeable on a second playthrough and more proof he's an incompetent clown, but he has to pose as others for the sake of the plot cause he's the bodyswapping plot twist first and foremost. you don't even really see HIM in his ruse, other than he's bad at impersonating (which you only know after finishing) and does some hand movements, and also he acts sus, which is like a prerequisite in a detective story so it doesn't count as a personality trait of his. he can't be himself, he just has to be a bad version of iris, or sejima, or renju.
'but what about his somnia!' what about them? they're some of the worst somnia in the whole series. saito has three, three, somnia and like the red branch of vain is the only one that establishes anything about him other than bad vibes and murder and ohohohohohoo he's so CRAAAAAAAAAAAZYYYYYY, by which i mean it hints at his daddy issues that they neglect in favor of 24/7/365 ableism, so like. what am i supposed to say? they're lame! THEY ARE LAME AS SHIT. refrain is just fuckin: 'hey do you remember the murders from this side of the flowchart' with a dose of bad vibes, and chain is just 'hey look! look! these were the original body swaps!' with more bad vibes and a gay little dance, maybe the most interesting thing saito has ever offered. and you can't get to know him from other sources either. not even people who know him personally, like his dad (a much more compelling and better written character), talk about him as his own person for plot reasons. so then all you have left is end of annihilation route and resolution route, and like. its a snoozefest.
annihilation route saito doesn't work because the game seems to want me to believe he's really cunning, but i've seen everything he's done up until this point, so i already know he's a buffoon with no aptitude for crime and they're not going to convince me otherwise. 100% with his track record pewter just knocked his bitch ass out and then swapped them back and put his ass in jail lmao. and his behavior in the resolution route post reveal is like cookie cutter murder man 'i have your wife give me what i want or the girl dies' coupled with evil laughter and a vindictive streak. on their own, these things aren't bad, i like cliches when they're done well, but when he finally gets screen time of his own, a chance to speak from himself, once again he's just offering crazed serial killer murder man, no longer forced to pretend to be characters more interesting than he is. he's free to do the most generic shit imaginable! they can't possibly be well-executed cliches that say something meaningful about him when everything up until that point was NOTHING.
they didn't think about who saito is beyond crazed killer man with evil brain disease and a smidge of daddy issues. the gimmick of 'serial killer who swaps bodies' was a higher priority, and it makes for a fun mystery, but it makes for a boring character. saito is just a bad character because he's written like ass.

Well, whatever the fuck is going on in Zdarsky's Batman right now doesn't make me feel great about the eventual reveal for the Jokers in The Man Who Stopped Laughing, but I enjoyed TMWSL #8 today and I'm going to focus on that and not how very fucking over the multiverse I am.
As always, spoilers for TMWSL ahead!
As much as I enjoyed last issue, I'm happy to catch up with who I still think of as Protagonist Joker. He's got that sad, half-dead underdog appeal! And he has a half-dead friend!
Tumblr media
Grundyjokes lives!
Tumblr media
They don’t have to be this cute. Why are they so cute in their weird little subterranean friendship.
You may remember, however, that the Joker in Los Angeles is, uh, not making friends.
Tumblr media
Real original commentary, lady!
Tumblr media
How much people across the country (or the world or the galaxy) are familiar with DC's heroes and villains changes depending on the needs of the story, but I think I prefer a world where their notoriety is more localized just for opportunities like this. lol
And so does Joker, who takes the opportunity to stab Manhunter and escape, before we’re back in the Gotham sewers with another Gotham creature, Killer Croc.
Tumblr media
>:[ Joker, you're not gonna make more friends like this.
Tumblr media
As Protagonist Joker antagonizes Waylon, LA Joker is desperately trying to not be in LA.
Tumblr media
I thought the door lock was a funny beat, and then this happens.
Tumblr media
Hee, classic.
Just when I think Mr. Waffles will finally come to the rescue...
Tumblr media
Oh, perhaps Killer Moth is a friend? But this issue is cutting back and forth pretty often, and we’re back with a different Killer on the hunt.
Tumblr media
Oh. Oh, that poor utility worker.
Tumblr media
Just burning up to nothing behind Joker, who is still wearing the same damn underwear. But at least a lot of his hair is back!
Tumblr media
Well, I certainly hope both of you aren't the result of another comic's multiversal nonsense that sure seems to be undermining your villain origin story in favor of making you more of a plot device than the character I enjoy BUT I SAID WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT
Anyway, Protagonist Joker passes out, leaving his fate for the next issue, and it's back to the west coast.
Tumblr media
Though just when you think Killer Moth flew across the country to help Joker for some reason...
Tumblr media
Oh, of course he's here for revenge. That makes more sense.
Tumblr media
Moth, you have to know you're gonna regret this.
Hey, speaking of Jason!
Tumblr media
That boy sure loves his Austen and Shakespeare and treatises on how violence is a tool exploited by the state.
A strange figure appears!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not sure if more is happening here than a visual signal or what, but Tiffany is actually Barbara.
Tumblr media
I'm going to assume it's Steph on the other end of the line just because of her previous appearance, and going by Barbara's last remark, I'm also wondering if this help for Jason is without Bruce's knowledge, but time will tell!
And then it's back to Los Angeles, and... ugh... the answer to why Mr. Waffles didn't come to Joker's rescue..
Tumblr media
But Joker said "almost!" Waffles can recover!
Tumblr media
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO goddammit, I shouldn't have gotten attached. Buuuut maybe there’ll be a gag next time about how he’s barely hanging on??
... Also I wouldn’t hate it if Joker dragged poor Waffles around Weekend-at-Bernie's style.
Sigh. Alright. Onto the backer. Francavilla is back for the art! Hooray!
Tumblr media
Joker's an especially sad clown in this one! And he's sick of all the fighting, so he comes up with an invention.
Tumblr media
Of course Joker’s not gonna try out being good. Can’t you make out his badge?
Tumblr media
The fact that the victim's head merely goes POP. I can't.
And the device works in the air! It works in the sea!
Tumblr media
They had to put the "Superman created by" credit at the start of this story just so we could see Clark's head get obliterated.
I really try not to post too many full pages but lol these chyrons
Tumblr media
Naturally, after Randolph Joker decides to go all-out with his device...
Tumblr media
Holy unintended consequences, headless Batman!
Speaking of losing your head, don’t get too many bright ideas, Gaggy...
Tumblr media
Joker decides to go with a different career opportunity.
Tumblr media
Gotta love a good bookend! And look, it's Two-Face! Also is that a new Gaggy or a continuity error or what am I even saying it doesn’t matter
I'm not sure if the Joker duplicate in this story is his new life as a for-real clown or collectively all the shitty people he enabled... but this stupid @!#$?* mime is as unfulfilled as always, and isn't that what really matters? ✨

Hi I’m not sure if your requests are open or if you do x reader, but can you write a Micheal x reader where your just Gregory’s chaotic adoptive parents, like chasing after them both trying to stop them doing stupid shit? Thanks!:)
I'm sorry this took so long, but yes, they are open! And yes, I do!
-(CW: mentions of minor injury, and Mike's scooping incident)-
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Your husband's childhood home had too many goddamn doors. Why were there so many of them? None of them were dangerous, besides his father's creepy ass basement that used to hide killer robots, but why would a family of five need so many rooms?
You had never understood it. Michael hadn't either, even when he was young, but that didn't stop him from wanting to explore them all. That, and a call from his father, who you had later learned was a rotting corpse stuck in a furry suit, was how he had found his sister's ghost inhabiting one of his father's weird clown robots, and also how he got his organs ripped out. You shivered. Maybe it was best to not remember that right now.
You set your things down on the couch, kicked off your shoes and hanging up your coat.
"Mike! Gregory! I'm back from work!"
No answer.
That was fine, maybe they had gone out to the arcade or something. It was a way of bonding that they both enjoyed, and you didn't wanna stop them because it made them both happy.
But they couldn't be out of the house, you had seen Mike's car in the garage when you came home from work.
That was suspicious.
You checked back near the front door, where everyone lined up their shoes. Except the animatronic your son had stolen from the mega pizzaplex, of course, because Freddy didn't have shoes. Just as you thought, there were Gregory and Michael's shoes, lined up neatly next to each other like always. Gregory's shoes were in the middle, yours and Michael's encompassing his on either side. He said it made his shoes feel safe. You payed it no mind. If he felt safe because his shoes were between yours and Mike's, so be it.
Putting everything together, you realized that they were probably pulling a prank on you, or something similar. Things like that had been happening so often lately. Gregory left slime in Mike's shoes right before he left for work, Mike dumped a whole bag of flour onto Gregory's head while they were baking, Gregory had run over Mike's foot with his small, fake car you had bought him for his birthday.
They had water balloon fights too close to electrical outlets, even if the outlets were outside. They had food fights with food that wasn't supposed to be thrown, whether it was frozen foods or foods that had just been cooked and could give either one of them burns. They had pillow fights and broke objects around the house. They had even thrown paint at each other once, which you had quickly stopped. Any of that going into eyes or mouths would have sent them to a hospital.
Sometimes, they knew where to draw the line. Most of the time they didn't. You were hoping that this was one of the times they did.
You turn corners and walk down hallways, past bedrooms and an office. This house was too damn big for three people and an animatronic. Maybe it was time for the four of you to move. Somewhere with more outdoor space so your goofball son and husband could play around more without getting hurt. Not that the house didn't have a yard, it was just a bit small, especially with all the ruckus they made.
The sound of giggling interrupted your train of thought.
"They didn't even notice us!"
"Quiet or they will!"
Mike's old bedroom? That was now Gregory's? Why were they hiding in there?
Maybe they broke something. Last time they did, they had hidden in the master bedroom, where you had immediately found them and scolded them like children. If they really wanted to hide from you, they would hide in either William's old office or in the basement. You rarely went in Mike's dad's office, and you refused to go down into the basement after what happened to Michael. Although, you guessed that the same could be said about your husband for both of those rooms.
You peaked into Gregory's room. His bed was made and it was covered from head to foot in plushies. As much as you knew he loved you and Mike both, you sometimes wondered if he loved those plushies- and Freddy- a bit more.
You stepped in and sat gingerly on Gregory's bed, deciding to play dumb.
"I've lost my two favorite boys, whatever shall I do?"
Silence.
"Well, I was thinking about going to the mall later today. I was gonna take my son to see that new Spider-Man movie, but I guess I'll just have to go alone."
You heard a gasp and shuffling from under the bed. Bingo.
Gregory crawled out from underneath it and hopped up into your lap.
"No wait! We were just playing around! I wanna go with you!"
You kissed his forehead and ruffled his hair.
"Of course you can, sweetie, any time you want to."
Gregory beamed up at you, legs swinging in an excited manner.
"I can't believe you gave up that easily!"
The closet door opened and out stepped your husband, a disgruntled look on his face. His hair was messier than usual, his arms crossed and his shoulders slouched.
"Come on, Mike, it was just a game. Besides, no one can ever pass up a Spider-Man movie."
"Yeah, Dad, Spider-Man is the best! Are we gonna go soon, or are you guys gonna get super old first?"
Mike let out a gasp of over exaggerated offense, straightening up his back and placing his hands on his hips. He faked an elderly woman's voice and began a small rant that would likely make your son burst out with laughter.
"Well I never! Who taught you to disrespect your elders like that, young man?"
So far, in all your years of being married to him, you still hadn't figured out this side of Mike's humor.
"You did, old man!"
Michael's face contorted into one of playful annoyance.
"Why, get over here you little smart-ass!"
He picked Gregory up from your lap and began tickling him while keeping a firm grip so Gregory couldn't run away. Gregory squealed loudly, arms and legs flailing as he tried to escape his father's grasp. Michael's smirk was prominent when he looked down towards you.
"Knock it off, you two, I don't want anything else broken right now."
"Fine, fine."
Mike hovered Gregory over his bed for a moment, then dropped him down completely, Gregory letting out a small 'oof' of relief for no longer being tickled.
"How was work?"
You sighed.
"The usual. One of my co-workers nearly quit today, though. I can't blame her, everyone hates it there, those desk jobs are miserable."
Mike hugged you from behind and kissed your cheek.
"Well, if you did quit, we could always move out of town. To be quite honest, I'm getting pretty tired of Hurricane."
"We can talk about it later. For now, let's get Gregory to that movie he wanted."
Mike nodded.
"Come on, Sport, let's go see Spider-Man before it gets dark, or else we're not going."
"Finally! You guys were taking forever, Dad, I thought I was gonna turn into a dinosaur before you were done smooching them."
Mike let out a loud laugh, shoulders shaking as he leaned on the doorway for support. You held back a laugh as well. Sometimes, Gregory said snarky things without thinking, and you and Mike definitely had to start teaching him not to do that.
You smacked Mike's shoulder playfully.
"Ok, you two, come on. Get your coats, shoes, whatever else you need and meet at the front door."
Gregory ran to his closet to find his jacket, as you and Mike went looking for the hall closet that you used to store extras.
Coats were found quickly, shoes were tied(in Gregory's case, velcro-ed) and your little family was out the door and in the car.
After the movie, Gregory had gotten tired and fallen asleep on the way home.
"Don't worry, I've got him."
You smiled at Mike, kissing him quickly and hopping out of the car to unlock the house.
You made your way up to Gregory's room and promptly tucked him in. Heading off to your own room, you finally let your exhaustion wash over you as you laid your head on your husband's chest. He ran his fingers through your hair and kissed your forehead.
Yes they were trouble, but you wouldn't trade this for anything else in the world.

Othello Pt 2
pairing: jason todd x reader, reader is a psych major because i think the concept of psych majors in Gotham is funny lmao
warning: i wrote this at 1 am again, kinda long, swearing
a/n: i mention Dana Harlowe and Annie B’s diner, they’re both from RHATO’s final two issues lol. still dedicated to @tadpole-san even though she hate crimed me
part 1
“I thought you said you wanted to get coffee,” you started when you noticed Jason veering away from where your regular coffee shop should’ve been, choosing to cut through the street and venture to a different path entirely. “Because you just-”
“Yeah, I know, I’m hungry,” he declared, slipping his hands into his pockets and tilting his head towards another row of stores illuminated with neon-lights and flickering street lamps. “This place has better stuff than overpriced coffee, promise.” You let out an exaggerated gasp of shock at that notion and he laughed, nudging your shoulder with his.
It was always strange to be walking around Gotham during the night, but with Jason by your side, it was far less worrying than it usually was. On your own, you couldn’t even imagine traveling around the dark streets littered with muggers, petty thieves, and the occasional evil clown prince or two - one minute, you’d be speed-walking down the streets, the next minute you could end up as the lucky winner of Scarecrow’s fear-gas testing special.
You actually knew someone who had been in that very situation. They were in Arkham now.
With Jason, it was almost ridiculous how much safer you felt. It didn’t take a whole lot of observational skills to notice how the men who usually leered at you and your friends when you passed shrank and slipped into the shadows when a man over 6 feet in height and built like a tank walked past them. Jason himself was in a good mood tonight, his shoulders relaxed and a slight smile playing at his lips while he told you about the local theatrical-adaptation of Othello that was currently under production near Gotham University.
You were getting used to seeing him like this - not so moody, smiling, present - but you had also noticed the expressions he had when no one was looking, when he wasn’t thinking about anything in particular, when his gaze had a certain intensity to them that you hadn’t ever quite seen before. He didn’t really like talking about himself or his life, preferring to keep conversations centered around school or you. The few times you had tried asking about his family and work had all led to him clamming up and quickly dropping the subject, his body language rigid and completely closed-off, the crease by his brows deepening as his expression transformed into a scowl. It was the first time you realized that Jason Todd could actually be genuinely scary - and the first time you realized there was a much, much darker side of him that you weren’t sure if you wanted to see.
You knew it wasn’t your place to pry, and you had never brought it up since - but you couldn’t help but wonder just what had happened to make someone like him so angry.
“...and I figured we could - did you just zone out on me?”
You snapped back into attention at his rather dramatic tone, flinching out of your character analysis to pay actual mind to the man in question himself.
“No, I just-”
“Yeah? What did I just say?” Jason challenged, grasping your arm to pull you away from the traffic lane you had nearly walked right into. His disbelieving expression made your face burn red - but much to your relief (and embarrassment), he was laughing.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t completely zoned out-”
“After you literally walked into traffic? Yeah, I can tell,” he deadpanned, tugging you towards him right as the cars slowed to a halt, the pedestrian signal blinking above you. The sudden action and the sudden closeness made your face heat up - something he apparently noticed when his bright green eyes flickered across your features and caused a smirk to tug at his lips. Instead of the teasing you had braced yourself for, you watched as he tilted his head towards the diner across the street, letting go of your arm. “It’s right over there, c’mon.”
He was already moving towards the crosswalk when you shook yourself out of your stupor, quickly moving to catch up with him and glancing up at the diner. The big glowing red letters on the sign beside it read “Annie B’s”.
“They got good food,” he explained at your questioning look, leaning forwards to swing the door open for you. “I used to hang around here a lot when I was a kid.”
“I don’t think I’ve actually seen this place before,” you commented, entering and hearing Jason close the door behind him, taking a quick glance around before you took a seat in one of the cherry-red and white leather booths. “Kinda wish I had.”
The entire diner had a vintage touch to it, from the luminescent pink and blue lights lining the ceilings to the multicolored tile floors, the cherry-red barstools, and even the jukebox in the corner cranking out old-timey tunes. There were only a few other people sitting at the bar and chilling in a booth a few down from your own, all too absorbed in their own worlds to pay much mind to the two of you. You could hear the sizzling of the food being made back in the kitchen, emitting a heavenly aroma that made your stomach growl not-so subtly. Jason laughed as he slid down across from you, sliding one delicate paper menu over as he scanned over the other.
“Pretty cool, huh? And like I said, they got great food.” He nodded at your stomach and you rolled your eyes, eliciting another laugh from him. “Knock yourself out, ‘cus dinner’s on me.” Before you could open your mouth to object, the kitchen doors flew open and a woman stepped out holding a heaping tray of food.
“One chicken fried steak with a side of mashed potatoes and rings,” she announced as she set down the trays in front of a man sitting a few booths down, already moving to refill his glass with a pitcher of water. “Enjoy your dinner, Phil.”
“Thanks, Dana,” the man told her as he picked up his fork and gave her a crooked-toothed grin, already digging into his food. “Always do.”
“I sure hope so,” the lady agreed, moving to walk back towards the kitchen before catching sight of them. She broke into a grin at the sight of Jason sending her a playful salute, changing course to head towards their booth instead. “Well, look who it is!” she exclaimed, securing her curly black hair out of her face with an orange-and-green bandana as she stopped in front of them. “Jason Todd decided to drop by for a little visit, did he? And he brought a friend.”
The sight of her beaming at you was too contagious for you to not smile back up at her in return.
“Hi, Dana,” Jason grinned, nodding at you as she looked between the two of you. “This is Y/N. Y/N, Dana Harlowe. Her dad runs this place.”
“It’s so nice to meet you,” Dana told you with another grin, leaning forwards to shake your hand in greeting. “When I decided to help out at the diner tonight, I wasn’t expecting a miracle. I definitely didn’t think this boy would ever walk in here with a date of all things-”
“Oh as if,” Jason scoffed loudly as the two of you laughed, face reddening beneath the bright colored lights. “Have you seen me? I was born a lady-killer.” He shot you a wink and you sent him another playful eye roll.
“Yeah, you sure killed me alright.” Dana burst out laughing again as Jason immediately let out a protest of betrayal at your words.
“I like you,” she decided when she finally managed to straighten, taking out her notepad and pen with another brilliant smile. “Did y’all decide what you wanted yet, or do you need another minute?” Jason glanced over at you and you nodded back up at her.
“Sure, I’m ready.”
Dana headed back into the kitchen for your food after you ordered, leaving the two of you to sit in a comfortable, familiar silence, the sound of forks scraping against porcelain plates and vintage beats being the only disruptors.
“I used to hear these songs on Gotham City Radio all the time,” Jason finally began after taking a sip of his water, fixating his gaze back on you as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back against the leather seat. “Growing up, I mean. I still do, sometimes.”
“Classic jazz?” You grinned, taking a small sip of your own water in turn. “You? I didn’t get that vibe from you.” He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck with a slight shrug.
“At my old place, I had, uh, a butler. He wasn’t really a butler, honestly, he was more like a dad than anything. Or, like, a really cool grandpa. He had a whole rack of guns and shit he kept polished in this big cabinet thing-” You raised a brow, attempting to hide your amusement by taking another sip of water. You were a little surprised that he had actually started talking about his family at all - you weren’t about to ruin it, and boy, did you want to know more about the guy. “And he used to play that station all the time at home, GC Radio Classics. I guess I kinda missed hearing it.”
“He does sound pretty cool,” you admitted with a smile, setting the glass back down. “Do you still visit him?” Jason hesitated a few moments before attempting a nonchalant shrug. You noticed the tightness in his body language again, the same sort of tightness you saw when he was closing up around you.
“Not much anymore,” he finally said, letting his shoulders drop a little bit. “It’s been...a while. Just got some shit going on.” You watched him take another drink before you spoke again.
“If you ever want to talk about it with me - or talk about anything, really - you can, Jason.” It wasn’t just the products of your psych major showing through you - you meant your words, and the slight smile playing at his lips seemed to signal that he had understood that as well.
“Don’t worry about it, seriously. But thanks.” You nodded, looking up again when the kitchen doors flew open once again, Dana heading out towards your table with another two trays heaped with mouth-watering food.
“And here you go,” she smiled as she set your respective meals down before you, taking your glasses to refill them as well. “Enjoy your food, you two. Call me over if there’s anything else you need, yeah?” You both thanked Dana as she sashayed away again, letting the doors swing shut behind her once again after checking up on the rest of her customers.
Neither of you wasted any time digging into the food as soon as it appeared, finishing most of it in mere minutes like the starving university students you were, breaking the silence with the occasional offer at trying something the other had gotten. The aroma had been no false-alarm - it tasted even better than you had anticipated, and that was certainly saying something. Savory fries, buttery biscuits, and smoky burgers were better than anything else you had in a while.
“How did I not find this place sooner?” you sighed as you pressed a napkin to your lips, leaning back against your seat as you tried to process just how full you really felt. At this rate, you would have to roll your way out of the place. “I know you said it was gonna be good, but I didn’t expect it to be this good.”
“I told you,” Jason grinned as he finished up the last of his burger and fries, crumpling up his own napkins and setting them into the tray to throw away. “I know good food places! I grew up around these streets.”
“So did I!” you protested as he laughed and stood up to throw all the trash away, setting the trays back where they were supposed to go and pulling out his wallet just as Dana appeared by the kitchen’s window with two milkshakes.
“You can count these on the house,” she told him as she slid them over, ignoring his protests and sending you a wink as you stood up from the booth as well. “Enjoy your night - and it was real nice meeting you, Y/N. Todd, I better be seeing you around more often.”
“Yes ma’am,” he deadpanned, his smile warm as she waved them out anyways. “Thanks, Dana.”
You called out a thanks to her as well, tightening your jacket around you as you left the warmth of the diner and felt the chill of Gotham’s dreary night hit you once more. Jason handed you your milkshake, bringing his own straw to his lips and taking a sip.
“You guys seem close,” you noted with a smile as you took a sip yourself, relishing the cold, sweet taste of the shake in delight. Jason chuckled at that, shrugging as you walked along the illuminated sidewalks in no particular direction.
“She’s like an annoying sister to me. I’ve known her since I was a puny kid.” You watched as the corners of his mouth curled into a slight smile as he took another sip. “Dana, her sister, and her dad were good to me growing up. They’re great people.”
That, you had been able to tell just from meeting the woman herself.
“I liked meeting her. She was pretty cool.” He chuckled again and spared you another glance. “And thanks, by the way, for dinner tonight. It really was really good. And way better than just coffee.”
“I told you,” he grinned, flickering those brilliant green eyes across your face again. “I know where the good spots around Gotham are. We don’t have a lot of them, but when we do have them, they’re pretty damn good.” That elicited a laugh from you and Jason stopped beneath one of the streetlamps lining the sidewalk.
“You did better than I expected, Todd.” He made a big show of popping his collar and scoffing at your comment.
“What, you expected me to not impress you? Do you think that low of me?”
“That theatre minor of yours is really starting to make an entrance, you can put it away now-”
“Hey!” You burst out laughing and he couldn’t help but join. You felt pretty sure that he looked the happiest right then and there than you had ever really seen him - whatever that might’ve meant. Pretty soon, your laughter was residing and he had taken a slight step forwards, a cheeky grin still plastered on his face. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.”
You looked back up at him with a nonchalant shrug despite fighting back another smile yourself.
“Yeah, it was a pretty good night.” His gaze flickered towards your lips before settling back on your face.
“Yeah?” The sounds of honking cars and the murmurs of people walking past all around you felt like they were being drowned out somehow when you felt him get a little bit closer. The smile tugged at the corner of your mouth again.
“Yeah.” Another moment passed before Jason finally closed the distance between you, meeting your lips in a surprisingly gentle kiss for a man who looked like he could snap a baseball bat with his bare hands. You wrapped your arms around his neck after yet another moment, feeling him draw you even closer to him at the action.
Literally and figuratively, it was a sweet kiss. The milkshake truly had done wonders.
You were a little breathless when he finally pulled away, and you hoped the shitty streetlight would keep him from seeing just how red your face had gone. Jason was grinning at your reaction, rubbing the back of his neck.
“C’mon, that was better than pretty good.”
“Shut up,” you told him immediately, swatting his arm and moving to continue your walk again as he laughed and easily moved to catch up to you, slinging an arm around your shoulders.
“It was! You gotta admit it, that was pretty great-”
“Shut up, Jason.”
Just like that, once again, you had Othello of all things to thank for your night. Maybe, just maybe, it hadn’t been such a terrible book after all.

25 - Just Chatting...
Hello one and all.
It's been a long time since I graced these pages and, believe it or not, nothing much has been happening in my life, apart from the odd soiree or two. Winter has finally left us and spring has sprung, and it's nice to see the sun again. Let's start by wishing my old mate a happy birthday and I hope you all had a little drinkie for him, I know I did. In fact I got legless, he would have been proud of me. Whenever we were in London there was always a party at Fred's on his birthday, be it a handful of friends, or one where he invited half of Britain, but which ever one it was there was always a good time to be had and a lot of chaos. One year he actually took over Pikes Hotel in Ibiza and chartered a private plane to fly his friends in. Roger and myself were already on the island recording some of his solo stuff so we didn't have far to travel to the bash. When I say we were working, it's kind of true as we spent a lot of time on his boat "Ga Ga" whizzing around having lunch and fun. The party was held outside around the swimming pool, now is that an invite for trouble or what? There were hundreds of balloons hanging from every available fixture, and of course there is always an idiot that thinks he's a clown. This particular clown, who will remain nameless, decided it would be funny to light one of the balloons, and needless to say the whole lot went up in flames. Phoebe and Crystal to the rescue. We had to get this "fire" off the wooden rafters before the whole hotel went up in smoke, so we were pulling bits of string while burning rubber was dripping down on us. I was so traumatised by the whole event I had to have another drink ....... a lame excuse I know, but hey, it's my story. Back to the pool. Edwin Shirley, of trucking fame and also an all round good guy after a few too many, decided to have a swim, so he removed his clothing and was flapping around the pool when some daft countess told him to get dressed and behave himself. Wrong move lady. Edwin was not impressed by his telling off and threw her in, and she was even less impressed with that and started ranting and raving, much to the amusement to the rest of the party hounds. She left with her tail between her legs and didn't look at all glamorous in her soaking wet dress, running makeup and failed hairdo. We continued till mid morning and went straight to the airport and caught a flight home. Thanks F for the great parties and good times, you will never be forgotten.
I still get asked a lot if I'm gonna write the "Real" story about Queen. Well the answer is no, and the reason is that the guys gave me a great job and a great life and I have far to much respect for them, their wives/girlfriends, children and families to tell the world what we got up to in private. I feel that is our business and ours alone. Most of us are all in relationships and telling tales could make life awkward for a few people, band and crew alike. I'm sure at some point in time someone from the organisation will write a book, have 5 minutes of fame and make a quick buck, but it sure as hell won't be me, and I'll still be able to sleep at night and when I see the guys I will still be free to say, "Wanna beer MATE."
I've had a few questions asked me that I'm gonna answer quickly.
First off is "Do you have any stories about Freddies cats? (ripping furniture etc.)" Here's a good reply, No. So moving right along, "Of all the famous people you've met, who impressed you the most?" Tricky one this. After years in this "Biz" they all become "Just normal people," and some become good pals, but on one occasion I was in Paul McCartneys studio and I was handed his violin bass and I was sitting there holding it when someone said, "Paul is left handed, hold it like he would." When I turned it around, still taped in the cutout was the Beatles set list from their days in Hamburg, now that impressed me.
Deaky and myself were the only two reggae lovers in the outfit, and Bob Marley turned up to see the show at Madison Square Gardens. Strange choice of show for Bob, but he loved Another one bites the dust, and he happened to be in New York on a stopover on his way to Germany for laser treatment. Show time and our intro tape was playing, and someone told JD that Bob was in the audience, so he cranked his bass up and played "Lively up yourself" over the tape. This was very possibly the last time Marley ever heard this played as he died shortly after. I didn't get to meet him, but I did get to meet Tyrone Downie, Bobs keyboard player in the Wailers, and Tyrone and myself got up to all sorts of mischief that night. RT on the other hand hates reggae music, but I did manage to drag him to the Circus Krone in Munich to see Peter Tosh. I loved it, he hated it. I look at this as payback because years before he insisted that I went to Hammersmith Odeon to see Laurie Anderson, of O Superman fame. This show he loved, but I put it alongside Cher as one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. Needless to say I have also met a couple of stars that I didn't see eye to eye with. Like the American rock star we encountered in a club one night, and he was such a pain I had to take him into the toilets to have a quiet word with him. He finally got the message so I released my hand from around his neck and let him drop back down to the ground. To finish this segment I wanna tell you something that Bev Bevan said. Bev was the drummer with ELO, and them and us were touring the US at the same time, and as it turned out, staying in the same hotel in one city. Roger and myself were leaving the hotel and waiting for the elevator. When the doors opened Bev was in there and him and RT said their hellos. Rog then said, "Bev, this is Crystal, he looks after me." Bev turned to me, shook my hand and said, "Pleased to meet you. If it wasn't for guys like you, guys like us wouldn't be where we are today." He didn't need to say that, and was genuine when he did. I wasn't impressed with meeting him, but he is certainly in my top ten of nicest people I have ever meet.
Over the last few months I've spent a lot of time in the Chatroom, and I highly recommend it to you all as it can be a bit of a laugh. For anyone who has never visited the room please remember a couple of things, if you come in and start swearing you will be kicked out. I know, it happens to me all the time. Also don't come in and start going on about knowing axemen and murderers and other such garbage, cause that also warrants a kicking. Some buffoon from Ireland, who went by the name of "Death" turned up with an attitude and was going on about how f***ing awesome Queen were at Slane Castle. He was not known by anyone in there so I asked him to watch his language. He said he was the Grim Reaper and could do and say what he liked, so I told him otherwise and he was most put out when I kicked him. What a fool. A while ago there was some prat who called himself F***queen, good name eh! Anyway, he/she/it was picking on a lovely young lady called Raisa, and was saying some awful things to her and completely freaked her out, so I went to her defence and FQ turned the attention my way. As far as I'm concerned it's only letters on a screen and it didn't phase me at all, but at least he/she/it gave up on Raisa. In all fairness to FQ, whoever you may be, he/she left a message on the Bulletin Board saying sorry to Raisa and myself and would never do it again. So FQ, from the both of us, thanks for the apology, we accept it. What other weirdos have we had? Well, there was a brightspark who decided it would be funny to use the nickname QueenRshite, another bad move from this person who was honoured with a ban.
While in there I've seen a lot of friendships made, and a couple that have fallen apart. I got a private message one evening from a very drunk girl who, how shall we phrase this, offered me her body and wanted to do all sorts of naughty things to me, I thanked her and declined...must be getting old or something. I have also witnessed relationships being made and, usually there is a lot of humour involved, but needless to say some arguments do occur. I have also seen some of the daftest things said. One guy was so convinced that one of the regulars was either Deaky or she was chatting with him in private that he actually started tracking her every move on the net. He also told me about some highly illegal activities he was up to concerning the band. I wouldn't have thought I was the best person to tell such stuff to, and needless to say I had a go at him. Just to add to his stupidity he's been recently boasting about his affair with an underage girl, and I reckon if he had any more sense he would be half witted. Having mentioned all the twits I'd like to say a quick hello to all the regulars, White Queen and Killer Queen, the lovely girls Blue Rock and Rannnnnnni, SQJan, Mayflower and her boys, Farookh (aka Leroy Brown) MarshMallow, the three Tigers - Babe, Lily and Stripes and the mighty Falc, also to all the rest who I haven't mentioned by name, you know who you are. I'd also like to say hi to Daddy Cool who is the singer in the Dutch cover band Miracle, and Dad, if you never make it as a singer you could make a great career from being a stand up comedian. Finally an extra special hello to the gorgeous MTB, who is about to make an honest man of me ;)
Before I go I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone of a certain date in November that is engraved in all of our minds. And I know that a lot of you will be heading to Garden Lodge to leave flowers. I don't wanna preach and tell you what to do, and I know flowers are a nice gesture, but they do die and the only people to really benefit from this is the florist. This year lets all give a donation, no matter how small, to Aids research, this way the cash will be used to try and stamp out this awful disease. If you really wanna leave flowers, buy a smaller, cheaper bunch and donate the balance of what you would have spent to these charities. It's been said a million times before but it is true, Every penny counts.
As always, Loadsa Love.

Cheryl//this is me trying
Request: Can I request a season 1 cheryl x reader. Cheryl always protects reader from people and r is shy but falls in love with the redhead and some who’s accidentally tells her while she’s having a bad day but cheryl is quick to reassure her then they cuddle after going to pops or something and it’s just fluffy.
hey! happy valentines day gays! and get you, two imagines in one day, it must be the day of love. i hope you all like this because it’s really fluffy and i enjoyed writing this a lot!
Overnight, Riverdale became a shell of its former self. Two months since Kevin Keller and Moose Mason stumbled upon the body of Jason Blossom, and nobody has been the same since.
The town is riddled with secrets, they’re slowly destroying it like a disease. Nobody trusts anybody anymore, everyone is on high alert, and everyone is a suspect.
Cheryl usually loves being the centre of attention, she has done ever she was a kid. It’s something that comes naturally with being a twin, you share everything and as much as she loves loved the shared birthdays and friends, she has always loved being the centre of attention.
Now however, she hates it. Her life is a true crime documentary at the minute, and all she wants is for the killer to be caught so the crew can pack up and leave and she no longer has to stare down at the blinding lights being cast over her and her family.
The only thing that’s kept her sane over the past two months, is you. Despite everything happening, despite the murder and the secrets and the suspicion, you’ve stuck by her side. You were with her when they found the body, and you haven’t really left since.
The two of you are unlikely friends, she’s Cheryl. Bright and bold and never one to back down from confrontation. But you’re Y/n, sweet and shy and always the first to shrink away from any sort of attention directed at you.
She knows you hate the constant attention recently, it’s something you get used when you’re best friends with the victim’s sister, but not once have you complained.
You’ve being questioned by police, journalists and strangers on the internet. You’ve had camera’s shoved in your face on your walk back from school and been asked countless questions about what you know about the Blossom’s. And you’ve also been offered ridiculous amounts of money in order to talk. But no matter what happens, you always just rush past them and join Cheryl, who’s always waiting for you with a sad smile and warm hand.
Due to the constant hoard of vultures swarming Riverdale High, the two of you had to figure out somewhere else to meet after school so you could walk the long way home. It adds twenty minutes to your walk, but it’s not that well known around town, meaning people can’t bother you.
Plus, the extra twenty minutes that you get to spend with Cheryl isn’t the worst thing. It’s the opposite in fact. It’s the thing you look forward to, even if you are looking over your shoulder every so often
But today you’re not at your meeting spot.
When Cheryl pushes her way through the stares of her fellow students with you and only you on her mind and makes her way through the school basement, back up the stairs and out of the fire exit, you’re not waiting for her with a smile that makes her feel warm and a cold slice of pizza you snuck out of the cafe earlier.
The only thing waiting for her is a full bin and an empty field.
“Y/n?” She calls out and looks around the corner. She’s met with three seniors, all of which are smoking with absolutely no care for being caught.
“She’s not here.” One of them says, her blonde hair and large glasses cover half of her face and Cheryl forces a smile.
“Hey, Blossom.” A boy says and Cheryl freezes. Who knows what they want, but whatever it is, it probably won’t be nice. It’ll probably be something along the lines of ‘hey, did you kill your brother’ and no matter how many times she’s asked that, it doesn’t get any easier. “Maybe try the bleachers.” He says, ending his sentence with a sympathetic smile and Cheryl nods slowly, not really sure what to say.
“Thanks.” She forces and spins on her heel.
“We’re sorry about your brother, Cheryl.” The blonde one says and she turns around again. Each of them look sad, with matching frowns and sorrow swimming in their eyes.
Jason meant the world to Cheryl, but he also meant a hell of a lot to other people too. And that’s when it hits her. Of course you’re at the bleachers.
For some bizarre reason, only known by your father. You and your family used to come along every other week to watch the Bulldogs play. For a while you thought it was because your dad was trying to get you and your brother into football and this was a lot cheaper than the actual game, but the older you got the more you figured it was because he was just trying to relive his youth. For 90 minutes he could pretend that he was quarterback again and for those 90 minutes your dad would be the happiest he’d been all week.
Then one week, a redhead sat beside you. In clothes that were far too expensive to be worn to a high school football game. Her parents looked like they wanted to be there as much as she did, but then a boy with matching red hair ran out on to the pitch and you’d never seen a smile quite like it.
After that, you made sure to sit beside her at every game. And then one day she sat opposite you at lunch. The first few times she was alone, but then soon she began to appear with a group of other girls, but you were the only one she’d talk to.
Eventually lunch times and football games turned into group projects and sleepovers. You spend hours braiding her hair and listening to her tell you stories of other worlds and the creatures that live in them. You’d sneak down the dark and creepy halls of Thornhill in hopes of finding a midnight snack, and instead be met by Jason and your older brother in clown masks.
Eventually, you found a different way to get to the kitchen, one that Jason didn’t know about. And when he’d come looking for you, both of you would jump out  and chase him around the house, much to the dismay of Penelope and Clifford.
Those bleachers are what started a whole friendship, not only between you and her, but also you and Jason. When you’re brother eventually made the team, thanks to a good word put in my Jason, despite him being a year younger. Him and Jason became as inseparable as you and Cheryl and so it wasn’t an uncommon occurrence to see the four of you hanging out. It also meant that if Cheryl was busy, you and Jason would hang out until she finished whatever she was doing.
Grief is a hell of a lonely thing, and sometimes Cheryl forgets that other people miss Jason too. With everything going on, she didn’t even think about how you were doing. With all the questions, accusations and crying that constantly fills Cheryl’s house. She never even asked how you were.
And now her legs can’t carry her quick enough to were she hopes your sat. Because she’s already lost her brother, she can’t lose you too. She wobbles as her heels dig into the dirt, kicking up dust and mud as she runs across the field. Her hair swings behind her, and she can feel the red scrunchie loosen the quicker she runs.
The bleachers have all sorts carved into them. Initials in hearts, some of them still there, some of them crossed out so aggressively that it’s a miracle they didn’t chop it in half. There’s inside jokes and ridiculous rumours. Codes and dates and everything in between.
But something new has been added in the past few days.
cheryl murdered jason
and y/n helped
The writing is small and barely legible, but it’s there and the more you run your fingers over it the more it carves itself into your heart.
“Y/n?” Cheryl pants breathlessly and you quickly pull yourself away from it. Instead you stand up properly and pull the sleeves of your sweater down over your hands. The y/f/c scrunchie remains still in your hair and Cheryl has to stare at it for a few seconds to calm herself down. “You weren’t at our spot.” She says quietly and you close your eyes.
You let her down. You let her down. You always let her down.
“Sorry Cheryl.” You sigh and sit down in the dirt. Cheryl looks around before sitting beside you. “I just wanted some space.” You add and force yourself to look at her.
The sun sits behind her, but even that doesn’t seem as bright as it used to be. Nothing is what it used to be. For the past two months, you’ve been told that thats a good thing. But what’s good about someone you loved being dead. What’s good about watching someone else you love go through life but not really live.
Cheryl just exists.
But she exists for you.
Because as lost as she would be without you, she knows you would be just as lost without her.
It’s an unspoken rule now, you always text each other when you wake up and before you go to sleep. It’s something you used to do anyway, but now you make a point not to forget. Because forgetting means that the worst could have happened, and that’s something neither of you can bare to deal with.
“I get it.” She nods. “I was just worried that’s all.” She adds, trying to sound as casual as she can. But on the inside she’s screaming. Because she thought you had died, she thought whoever had killed Jason had gotten to you too, and the whole reason you’re both dead is because she wronged the wrong person.
There’s a lot of people that don’t like Cheryl, being unliked comes naturally to her. But she doesn’t know how she’ll cope if she’s so unlikeable someone she loves died.
She has no idea why your friends with her to be honest. She saw you staring at her at a football game once. But it wasn’t a stare she was used to. It wasn’t cold like her mothers or jealous like her friends. No, this was nice. You were staring at her like you wanted to know about her, like when you looked at her, you saw a friend not someone to be feared.
And so Cheryl clung onto the tiny hint of friendship, the crack of a door into something that could happen, and she shoved herself through it. It worked, and now you’re the only person she’s nice to. She’s mean to everyone else, she calls them names and teases them, especially when they’re rude to you...but you stay. And she has no idea why, but she’s not going to wish it away.
“Shit, sorry Cheryl.” You drop your head into your hands and Cheryl looks at you confused. She looks around, not really sure of what to do. “I didn’t think, God knows what you thought had happened.” You ramble and she realizes you’re crying. Her eyes widen and you look at her, your eyes red and puffed and your lips pulls into frown.
“It’s okay.” She replies and wraps her arms around you. You bury your head into her neck, the smell of maple and cherries invade your senses and you let out a shaky breath.
It smells like home and happier times, and you want to crawl into those happy memories and never come back out. “I was just being ridiculous.” She tries to play it off, to make it seem like she couldn’t feel her heartbeat in her throat and the ringing in her ears. Pretend like it didn’t feel like someone had pulled her heart out and stamped on it.
“No, no you weren’t. I’m really sorry.” You sob and wrap your arms around her. She falls into your neck, surprised but not upset with how tight you’re holding her. She never wants you to let go. But of course she has to, and so however reluctant, she untangles herself from you and lets out a deep sigh.
“I’m sorry.” You sniffle. She hands you a tissue and you wipe your eyes with it before scrunching it up in your hand. “I’ve just had a rubbish day. Somebody shoved this in my locker.” You frown and pull a balled up piece of paper out of your pocket.
Cheryl’s eyebrows knit in confusion as she takes it from you, her fingers graze yours and you freeze for a few seconds.
who do you think did it?
cheryl __
y/n __
Jamie __
“Why is your brother on here?” Cheryl asks, her voice rising with each word and you rest your hand on top of hers to calm her down.
“I dunno.” You shrug. “Your parents are on there too.” You add and point further down the page.
“What a bunch of dicks.” She grumbles and crumples it up. “Do you know who it was?” You shrug and she sighs.
“I’ve just gotten tired of the staring and the whispers. So I thought I’d just have five minutes peace before going home and having to listen to Jamie cry in his room but pretend he’s okay. Or for my parents to walk on eggshells around both of us. Neither of them know what to say, and because of that they keep saying the wrong thing.” You ramble and she listens intently, trying her best to find a resolution to all of your problems.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t know the answer to everything, no matter what her mom says.
“I just thought five minutes by myself can’t be terrible. But then I came down here and someone carve-well it doesn’t matter what they wrote. What matters is that I made you worry at the worst possible time in your life. I hurt you, and I’m really sorry. Believe me, hurting you is the last thing I want to do you. I feel sick even just thinking about it. I never, ever want to hurt you. I love you too much. I love you more that I’ve ever loved anything or anyone ever. I just love yo-” Your eyes widen when you realize what you’ve just admitted to.
You don’t want to look at her, but she hasn’t said anything in a while and that’s strange for her. So you force yourself to look at her, expecting the worst. Expecting disgust, disappointment, betrayal. But it’s none of those.
Instead she’s smiling. And she looks actually happy. Something you haven’t seen in so long, something you’re glad to see, despite the circumstances.
Oh yeah, you’ve just told her you’re in love with her. What do you say after that?
“I-er-”
“Y/n?” She cuts you off before you get the chance to ruin the moment. She’s known you for long enough to know that when you get nervous, you ramble and when you ramble you say weird things.
You’re grateful for her cutting you off, usually if she talks over you, it annoys the hell out of you. But this time it’s welcomed and she stifles a small laugh and the sigh of relief you let out.
But the next thing she says is something that you weren’t expecting, but you’re sure as hell grateful for.
“Would you like to go on a date?”
---
The red lights from outside, illuminate Cheryl’s pale face in the night, painting her in a reddish hue and you find yourself staring at her for far longer than would be considered normal.
Lucky for you, she hasn’t noticed. She doesn’t seem to be paying attention to anything, not really anyway. Instead she stares down at her food, pushing a few fries around the plate and anxiety rises in your chest.
She’s already regretting doing this. She’s made a mistake and now she doesn’t know how to let you down gently.
She seems to sense you nerves because she’s looking at you quickly, a sad smile twitching at her lips.
“Sorry, I just. Jason always used to tease me about the two of us. It’s the only thing we’d take about sometimes. He’d constantly ask me if I’d asked you out yet. And every time I would say ‘no, we’re just friends’ but, well neither of us really believed that.” She says, a small laugh escapes her lips near the end, but she quickly shuts it off. It’s too soon for her to be laughing, too soon for her to be happy.
“Yeah.” You nod and finish your drink. “He used to tease me too. ‘if you don’t tell her, I’ll do it myself’.” You mimic his voice and a ghost of a smile twitches at her lips as she forces herself to look at you. “I am really glad you did ask me though.” Your voice shakes a little with nerves and Cheryl stares at you confused. “I do really like you Cheryl.”
“I really like you too.” She smiles softly and you stare at her lips. Sometimes you think the red lipstick has permanently stained her lips cherry red. Even when you guys are a sleepover, she still has bright red lips and the other part of you wonders if that’s just what they look like.
“Hey.” You start and a sly smile twitches at your lips as you remember an old memory. She leans forward, excited to know what you’re smiling about.
It could literally be anything, from a musty old book she let you borrow from the Thornhill archive, to a new tv show you started to watch. But whatever it is, she’s excited to hear you talk about it.
“Can you remember last year. It was Jamie’s 16th birthday and you and Jason were invited over. Jason was there because him and Jamie were planning on sneaking out later that night, and you tagged along so you could keep me company.” You start and she smiles at the memory.
The four of you sat in the living room, while your mom brought cake and your dad sang ‘happy birthday’. Cheryl remembers how happy she was, and she remembers talking to Jason afterwards, the two of them whispering and wondering if that was what a normal family was supposed to look like.
You, Cheryl and Jason had each pitched in for the record player he wanted. And even though you all knew that just Cheryl alone could have been able to buy him it if she really wanted, you knew they split it for you.
Jamie was ecstatic when he opened the box, and then all of the records you’d bought to go with it. He’d played it every single day since getting it, but now you haven’t heard it in months.
“Yeah.” She nods, a sad smiling taking over he face. “Can you remember when Jason pushed his face into the cake.” She adds making you snort a laugh.
The bell above Pop’s rings and Betty and Archie walk in. They send you a sympathetic smile before sitting at their own booth, and you and Cheryl share a look.
“Would you like another one?” You point at her milkshake and she nods, smiling shyly.
---
The walk home is over far too soon, and it’s only when you’re standing on your porch do you realize you took the normal way home by accident. Either the media has gone to sleep, or people are starting to forget about Jason and Riverdale.
That thought makes you frown and Cheryl watches your expression falter before you look back at her again.
“Thank you for walking me home.” You smile shyly and a nervous laugh escapes her lips.
“It’s no problem.” She shrugs and the two of you stare at each other for a few seconds longer than normal. She’s about to leave when you grab her hand and spin her around to face you.
She’s surprised for a second, until suddenly she feels a pair of lips on hers, and then the only thing she can feel is them. Everything else disappears, and though the kiss is short and a little awkward, it’s still perfect.
“Would you like to come in?” You ask and motion your head to large wooden door. The pain is chipped around the metal numbers, something your mom has nagged your dad about for the past 6 months. “We still have the rest of y/f/s to watch.”
“I’d love to.” She nods and the two of you grin at each other. “But seriously, how many times have you seen that now?”
“It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen it.” You unlock the front door, giving it a quick kick before you stumble through it. “What matters is that this is the first time you’re seeing it.” You add and she rolls her eyes but follows you up the stairs anyway.
The sun sets over another day in Riverdale and darkness floods the town. The streets are cold and scary, but wrapped in your duvet and Cheryl’s arms, you’ve never felt warmer.

Random Headcanons that materialize at 2 a.m. and don’t fit anywhere else
1) With the addition of Yun-Jin and The Trickster, I imagine the survivors wouldn’t be able to understand each other if it weren’t for the Entity. Much like the aura reading ability everyone has, the Entity puts sort of a filter in everyone’s head, giving them the ability to communicate in their own languages.
For example, if native English speaking Dwight were to talk to native Korean speaking Yun-Jin, regardless of if she knows any English or not, Yun-Jin hears Dwight speaking Korean and Dwight hears Yun-Jin speaking English.
I understand grammar and slang would make this kind of difficult to pull off, but Entity being all powerful could work around it I suppose.
(For Killers, it’s the same way)
2) Quentin is more put together than David King is. Yeah, he may be a bit tired all the time and he may have a caffeine/pill problem; both of those things stem from having to deal with a literal pedo. demon. When it comes to David, you can’t convince me that he doesn’t have any of the following: daddy issues, mommy issues, anger issues, commitment issues, and issues keeping a fetching job.
That being said, Quentin is the top in the KingSmith ship. (This is non-negotiable)
3) Feng Min’s comfort game is Solitaire. (like not on a computer, with actual cards)
4) Offerings are physical things that can be found around the realm. If they wanted to, survivors could run off to a random realm and find an escape cake resting on a bookshelf. However, the moment they retreat back to the safe area of their fire, whatever offerings they have turn into the six-sided tokens we see in-game. Same look and everything. All survivors need to do is toss the token into the fire before they go into a trial to apply it.
On the flip side, the same thing can happen to killers, but each of them has a specific space that will make the offering official. For example, Hillbilly has to take, say, a black ward into his old home for it to turn into a token.
(Offerings that come out of bloodwebs are always the six-sided token)
5) Killers hang out in their own realms usually, but there’s obviously some killers that don’t have their own realm. For those killers, I usually see them in these places:
Bubba: Switches from the Swamps to Coldwind and back. It really just kind of depends on who he wants to be around. If Hillbilly’s having a bad day and Hag also isn’t in the mood to see him, he’ll just hide out in a corner of one of the realms. Alternatively, he’ll queue up for more trials.
Ghostface: If he’s not stalking the survivors or researching other killers, he’s chilling in the Institute or Ormond. The Legion has a crack-head energy that he oddly enjoys being around; the Legion also doesn’t mind seeing him. Doctor and Ghostface both like to bounce ideas off each other. Doc is usually the one asking all the questions or giving all the suggestions. If both of those parties are annoying the hell out of Danny, he’ll leave and hang out with Amanda on the Game.
Blight: Hangs out in the chapel with Clown. Clown keeps his distance and sleeps most of the time outside of trials, so Blight isn’t much of a bother. If he’s not at the chapel, Blight is searching the forest, looking for his old workshop with all his notes.
Twins: Forest. Mother’s Dwelling specifically. Huntress enjoys playing with Victor and Charlotte likes the break from her brother. One of their favorite pass times is Huntress just throwing Victor as far as she can and waiting for him to run back. Victor loves it too.
Trickster: For the most part, hops from realm to realm. Since he’s been having trouble learning angles, Ji-Woon will visit each realm and practice throwing his knives like he’s in a chase. He’ll try and enter a realm when he knows the killer of said area isn’t there. Other killers like Clown, Plague, Freddy, etc. he doesn’t want to be around for obvious reasons. As for just relaxing, Ji-Woon will usually follow in Danny’s footsteps. The stealth killer doesn’t mind either. He’s been in the same place before.

“Mom, dad! Please wake up! Please!” Y/N said, crawling towards her parents who were sprawled on the road with bloody cuts and scabs everywhere on their body.
A bystander called the ambulance while some of them helped carry her parents off to the sidewalk. Not long after, the ambulance came but they didn’t manage to rescue her dad in time. He passed away from the hard impact. Her mom managed to be transferred into the vehicle.
But she didn’t make it halfway through.
She was left all alone as the paramedics comforted her, telling her to breathe. She was only 11. Hence, the reason why she was traumatized by that incident.
Tumblr media
It was a bright Wednesday morning, she had just finished getting ready to leave her apartment to head to campus. She wore a simple white shirt tucked into her high waist plaid skirt with a pair of Nike sneakers. She made it to campus with her backpack hanging off one side of her shoulder while she carried a few books in her hand to avoid putting heavy weight in her backpack.
She was just making her way down the hall, her Bluetooth earplugs were in her ears. She was listening to her music when somebody tapped her shoulder. She turned around to see a guy from her Psychology class. If she remembered correctly, his name was Jisung.
“Hey, I think you dropped this.” He said, handing her the keychain from her bag.
She took the charm from him not forgetting to thank him before flashing him a smile. Jisung did the same. Taking slow steps backwards until she finally turned back around to continue walking. He rushed back to his friends, only for them to nudge his side teasingly.
“Dude! She smiled at you! That’s a good start.” Hyunjin said.
“Yeah, try talking to her next time. She’ll definitely talk to you more.” Minho said, making Jisung stare at her descending back.
“Maybe I will…” Jisung thought to himself and soon went off to class.
A few hours later, Y/N was just leaving school when a familiar jock from the soccer team stops dead in her tracks, making her halt in her tracks.
“Hey, I have free tickets to see the new movie this weekend. Wanna go together?” Juyeon asked.
“I already made plans. Sorry.” She rejected him nicely before proceeding to walk around him to leave. She was just making her way to her car when someone blocked her door by holding it down. She looked up, ready to curse whoever it was but her words got stuck when she met the eyes of her best friend.
“I was this close to cursing your ass, Changmin.” Y/N said scrunching her nose. She made a pinching gesture with her fingers to show him she was running out of patience.
Changmin laughed when he leaned against her driver seat door, only to look down at her with a wide smile. “Are you free this weekend?” He asked.
“Mm, probably.”
“But you just told Juyeon you had plans.” Changmin began to smirk.
“You know I give white lies to those guys who try to take me on dates.”
“But you don’t turn me down when I ask you out?”
“That’s because you’re my best friend.”
“Ouch, am I being friend zoned already?” Changmin faked a sad frown.
“Wha- What are you talking about? Of course not.”
“Ugh! Y/N…”
“Changmin…” His frown was soon turned into a bright smile, leaning forward to playfully boop her nose with his own. She couldn’t help but giggle when he did that.
“Should we go out this weekend?” He asked.
“Where to?”
“We can check out that new haunted house for this year’s Halloween.”
“You just want to see me suffer don’t you?”
“Maybe just a little.”
“You ass.” Changmin giggled before pushing himself off her car, only for her to slap his torso playfully.
“I’ll text you once I’m home. Be careful.” She said while Changmin began to walk towards his sports bike across the parking lot. While all of this was happening, someone witnessed this from one of the bikes parked in the lot.
It was Jisung.
Tumblr media
That weekend, Changmin came over to her apartment to fetch her but he was an hour early. Hence, the reason why he was now just casually sitting in her bed while he picked out her outfit. After what felt like forever, he finally chose for her a simple denim skinny ripped jeans, a black sleeveless fitting top and a khaki green bomber jacket.
As for the shoes, she chose to wear a simple pair of converse high tops. Changmin was just sitting in her living room while she got dressed, only for him to receive a call from Juyeon, who happened to also be his friend.
“Hey Min! Wanna hang out today?”
“Sorry Ju, I have plans today.”
“Aww man. Who are you meeting?”
Changmin was so close to saying her name when he stopped himself abruptly. “Uhh, s-someone…”
“Ooh! Are you going on a date?”
“H-Huh? No, absolutely not. She’s just a friend.”
“Don’t take too long brother, or else someone might just steal her away.” Juyeon said. Changmin could literally hear his friend smile on the other line. Just then, Changmin heard her bedroom door unlock so he quickly said goodbye to his friend.
“Alright man, I gotta go. Bye.”
“Bye bro, good luck.” Juyeon teased before proceeding to hang up, making Changmin shake his head slightly.
The both of them soon left only for them to take Changmin’s bike instead of her car since it’s slightly easier to find a parking spot later. They went to get a light dinner first before heading to the theme park that was decked out with scary decorations and they even had new haunted houses for this year’s Halloween season.
The two of them were just walking around with the crowd. People were diligently running away from killer clowns and also scary looking masked actors.
She flinched quite a few times as she often grabbed his arm for comfort.
Just when she was talking to Changmin, a killer clown came charging right at her. She flinched, immediately grabbing Changmin’s shirt to bury herself in his chest. He couldn’t help but laugh, wrapping his arms around her body while the clown tried to scare her by putting the chainsaw right beside her ear.
Changmin could feel his heart race in his chest as she rested her arms firmly on his torso.
“Is he gone?” She whispered, terrifyingly.
“Yeah.”
Y/N carefully opened one eye, peaking past her shoulder, only to come face to face with the scary clown, making her let out a soft squeak. She pushed the clown away by his shoulders.
“Leave me alone!” She whined while Changmin was still hugging her. The clown laughed menacingly at her. Starting up his chainsaw again, making her flinch.
“Ugh! You little-” She almost cursed out of annoyance but the clown ran away to scare other people.
“I think you scared him more than he scared you.” Changmin teased while laughing at her.
“Oh shut up.”
She said with a sad pout on her face in which he couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter. They were now entering a queue to go to one of the new haunted houses when a familiar voice called out her name from behind her. She turned around, only to see Jisung with his friends, approaching the queue they were in.
She soon found herself smiling and waving at him who mimicked her expression the minute he came to a stop behind her in line.
“Is this your first house?” Jisung asked, shaking her head saying it was already her forth. Just then, Jisung’s eyes travelled towards Changmin who was standing beside her. Who then turned to see who Y/N was talking to. Changmin gave him a soft smile, making Jisung return the gesture.
“Ahh, I’m sorry to disrupt anything. I’ll leave you with your boyfriend.” Jisung said only to awkwardly smile at her, about to turn back around. That’s when Changmin spoke up to clear things up.
“Uhh, it’s fine, she’s-” But she seemed to cut him off.
“It’s okay, my boyfriend’s fine with it.”
With that, Changmin froze as Jisung’s eyes kept going back and forth between Y/N and Changmin. Y/N continued talking to Jisung but she sneakily played with Changmin’s fingers, making his heart race in his chest.
At this point, Jisung wasn’t jealous, nor was he upset that he didn’t get a chance to bring her out on a date because he feels that she is much better off with Changmin. After they were finished with that house, they gathered at the exit, only for Y/N to smile at Jisung and his friends.
“That was scary, I almost slapped someone in there.” Hyunjin confessed, making them all laugh.
“I wouldn’t wanna be that someone.” Jisung said.
Y/N laughed, turning to Jisung and rested her hand on his arm for a few seconds while she spoke.
“Alright, I’ll leave you guys to enjoy the rest of the night. See you in school.” She said, making the guys bid their goodbyes and soon walked the other way. After they left, she knew exactly what Changmin was gonna talk about so she quickly changed the topic by pointing to a snack cart and dragged Changmin to it.
They spent the next few hours with her screaming and whining while he laughs at her for being scared every time.
It was getting late and she was already tired so he decided to send her home. On their way back, they were at a cross junction when he removed his hands from the handlebar only to lean back into a sitting posture. They were both quiet as she rested her hands on his back, carefully sliding them around his waist.
Changmin found himself smiling at nobody. He glanced over his shoulder a little to look at her through his full face helmet. However, that cute moment was soon interrupted when a loud tyre screeching sound was heard from the other side of the junction.
Both of them whipped their head over to the left, that’s when they saw a lorry crashing into a car that soon overturned from the impact.
She gasped when she saw the driver of the car weakly crawled out of the overturned vehicle, his head and hands were bleeding. The lights turned green but Changmin quickly swerved towards the right to stop by the side to get down and help.
A few other passer-by's stopped their vehicles only for them to rush over to the scene.
The lorry driver got off, he even tried to run away drunkenly but some bystanders managed to chase him down. Changmin gently led the car driver to the side while a lady called the ambulance.
Just then, the man pointed shakily to the car as he said.
“M-My… My w-wife… P-Ple-Please h-help he-her.”
With that, Y/N and two more bystanders rushed to the car and they saw the woman hanging upside down from her seat. Her seatbelt was still intact but her head was bleeding. Red crimson blood dripping down her arms and head.
This alone made Y/N’s breath start to get choppy. She made slow steps backwards. Changmin turned around just in time to see her collapse to the ground in a state of shock, sitting there motionless. He rushed to her, cupping her face worriedly.
“Y/N? Y/N, are you okay?” Changmin asked but he knew her mind wasn’t there currently.
With that being said, Changmin carefully lifted her up to bring her towards the sidewalk. He sat beside her with one arm around her waist while the other gently caressing her head comfortingly.
After the ambulance came, Y/N was still shaking in his arms when they watched the paramedics bring both the victims into the vehicle.
Changmin turned to Y/N and softly whispered.
“Are you okay? Let’s get you home. Come on.” He said gently to her. She stood up but her knees were weak from the trauma.
Changmin sends her home safely and he even offered to accompany her for a while before heading home. However, instead of her wanting to shower straight away, she pulled him down on the couch as they sat there side by side quietly for a bit.
“It triggered your past didn’t it?” He asked cautiously, making her nod.
Changmin sighed because he already knew what it was. With that being said, he pulled her into a hug with her willingly accepting it without a single doubt. She buried her face into his neck as he gently caressed her back soothingly.
The room fell silent and all they could hear was their calm breathing. Just then, Changmin pulled away slightly, only to press a firm kiss against her temple. Her heart stopped beating for a millisecond, feeling her whole body freeze. Changmin smiled softly while he drew lazy patterns into her back, that’s when she spoke up.
“Can you stay with me? Please? I’m scared… I already lost the people I love so much. I don’t want to lose anyone else. Especially you.” She whispered softly against his shoulder. He heard every single word clearly.
With that being said, he carefully pulled her away from him. He stared into her glossy eyes that were filled with tears, threatening to roll down her cheeks. He gently cups her face as he wipes her fallen tears with his thumbs. Changmin couldn’t bear to see her heartbroken, it pained him to see her like this. So the only way to make her happy again is to fulfil her wishes, and that’s exactly what he’s going to do.
“I’ll stay with you. I promise I’ll never leave you.” He said, reassuring her as he stared deep into her eyes.
She could almost feel her heart escaping her chest as she gently held onto his wrists. Changmin smiles at her softly, wiping her tears with his sweater sleeves. She leans into his hand and he couldn’t help but smile at her.
Just then, he felt like it was something he needed to do. He wanted to seal his promise. With that being said, Changmin leaned in, only to kiss her on the lips softly. Her heart stops beating momentarily as she felt like she was on cloud9.
Her anxiety and trauma from the accident earlier was already gone. Instead, it got replaced by adrenaline and love. She slides her hands up his chest, running her fingers through his hair. Changmin smiled against her lips only to deepen the kiss further. Changmin tugged on her waist, pulling her onto his lap.
She cups his neck while his hands are resting on her thighs making her shy. She pulled away, only for her to say softly.
“The actual reason why I always turn those guys down is because I was hoping you’d ask me out on a proper date. But I guess we could call today our first date.” She said, making him chuckle as he licked her bottom lip and kissed her but soon pulled away.
“No it doesn’t. Let’s go on a real date. I’ll properly ask you out this time.” Changmin confessed, making her giggle. He captured her in a kiss, making her melt against his touch.
Changmin spent the night with her. He showered her with so much love, filling in the amount that she has been missing out all throughout her childhood.
She couldn’t ask for a much better friend and partner. She woke up the next morning to him playing with her hair in bed as she was snuggled against his warm, cosy chest. He gave her good morning kisses and did that for the rest of the day, making her laugh. She definitely wouldn’t want to lose anybody else that’s in her life. Especially not Changmin.

Remember the Rain
praying this is the final part of “Sunrise, Sunset” by the time i’m done omg ,, lamar finally talks it out with frank. i was tryna keep the titles consistent with a sky theme? wasn’t sure what to name this one at first, but i settled on naming it after a i song that i felt was sorta fitting lol ,, also lamar’s dramatic when drunk, that’s jus how it’s gonna be
oh and i included one last convo w/ that psychic lady bc each character got three opportunities to speak to her lol
//
The night Franklin and him fought was the third night in a row Lamar couldn’t sleep right. Then it became four. Then five. Six. He had hoped after the first couple days of Franklin being mad, that it’d all blow over and things would go back to normal. That he wouldn’t ever have to say anything about what he felt deep down. Even though he told himself he had to, he wouldn’t. He waited it out, and still hoped it would all just fucking blow over. That wasn’t what happened of course.
An overcast sky was spread over LS, light rain tapping against Lamar’s window. As cheesy as it was, it reflected how he felt. Another day had passed. Franklin wasn’t picking up, not even reading his texts, nothing. He called a couple times at first when the fourth day of the silent treatment occurred, then tried a few more times to contact him in the following days. It had grown into a long and sad string of texts.
franklin.
dog
plz
pick up
answer me
plz?
c’mon frank i told you i have nothin goin on with yo auntie
i wanna talk things out with you.
u ain’t let me finish explaining
text me when u read this. plz bro
He sighed. This was hopeless. He set his phone aside, still laying awake. A buzz came right after. Fucking finally, something.
fuck you
we got nothin to discuss
He didn’t know how to feel. This was fucking him up and he couldn’t think straight. He tried calling him once more, the ringing as he waited for a pick up mocking him. Voicemail yet again. How many messages had he tried leaving at this point?
for fucks sake frank pick up
u ain’t doin this to me rn
jus let me explain myself
He stared at the ceiling yet again, like it would have all the answers sprawled out for him. As he did, he focused on how the rain had picked up, coming down harder. Then he felt his phone buzz.
no
now stop blowing my phone up
i’m tryna sleep
Lamar was never one to be sensitive, but he felt so crushed right now that all he could do was cry silently to himself. He didn’t even have Chop around anymore to comfort him like he normally would whenever Lamar was going through something. Would he even see him again? He lived over at Frank’s now. Fuck. Did this mean they’d have to share custody now? If he wasn’t so upset, he most likely would’ve laughed at the idea of it. He was letting bad thoughts consume him, turning to a last minute resort of drinking to try stopping it. This kind of thing rarely happened to him, these kind of feelings weren’t common. He knew no other method of trying to stuff bad feelings down, working through a 6 pack of beer on his own, followed by a bottle of some type of random liquor. Anything to stifle the pain in his chest, although it didn’t accomplish much other than making him feel even more queasy. He left one last voicemail, choking back a sob. Or what he had thought would be the last one. He lost count.
“Franklin. Please jus’ talk to me already man. You- you believin’ what you wanna believe right now, you ain’t even givin’ me a chance. You my best fuckin’ friend, don’t that mean shit to you anymore? We.. homies n shit.” He sniffled, cringing to himself when he said the words “best friend”. Franklin was so much more than that to him.
“Ion… Ion think I can live without you in my life. You can’t hate me man that shit.. that’s fucked. This is fucked. I’m fucked.”
A strong feeling of humiliation hung around him for many reasons, one being that he was fully crying now, over the phone. He couldn’t get any lower.
“You jus’ mad right now. But you.. you won’t be, eventually. Right? Please get back to me soon. Please. I’d rather fuckin’.. die or sum’ than have you hatin’ me n shit. At this point I might as well.”
After hanging up, he decided to visit that site one last time. His tears blurred his vision, making it harder to type. The shit in his system didn’t help either.
lady
i fuckef up
thsi is yo faukt
What now? Why are you back?
frankljn hates me
He does? That’s not right.
damn straighy it fuckign isnt
No, I mean that’s not correct.
There’s no way that he could, even if it seems like it right now.

Look, I really don’t know how else to help you. I don’t have any other visions to offer. You’re on your own.
They do say though, that dreams are visions themselves.
dont fukcin speak in riddles rn
Precognition, Lamar. Just have faith
prewhatnow
n yeah. faith. bc that helps so fuckn much
All I can say to you is good luck - it’s all coming together. Just wait.
th fuck does that mean?
It means that you’re stressing too much - you better sleep it off. Farewell Lamar. You’re gonna have a killer hangover you know…
SERVICE UNAVAILABLE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.
The notification did nothing but make him more upset. He calmed down eventually, the crying and alcohol tiring him out. He blacked out soon after, not remembering when he fell asleep.
For the first time in a while, he dreamt about the two of them. The start of the dream showed a radiant sight before them, the sky lit up in a million shades. Chop was laying beside Franklin, head on his thigh. All three of them sat on a grassy knoll, a soft breeze blowing through each blade. Franklin turned, Lamar not taking his eyes off him since the dream started. He only noticed the sky’s wide color palette because the intensity struck Franklin’s face just right. He looked right into Lamar’s eyes, speaking softly.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“What?”
“You had so many opportunities. So many times, I thought that you would. I got my hopes up, you know. I waited. When Tanisha left.. I only had you.”
“Tanisha..”
“I still love her. I.. I think apart of me always will, but I love you just the same. Even if you drive me up a Goddamn wall sometimes. You both mean the world to me.”
Franklin looked back at the view ahead. A heavenly indigo replaced the vivid hues from before.
“But she’s gone now. Shit ain’t the same. All I know is you stayed when she didn’t. Even when she got pulled outta the hood and made some kinda new life for herself, you never left my side. Never changed yo loyalties.”
He turned back to face Lamar again. His eyes were glassy, the glow of the midnight sky reflecting in them.
“So why didn’t you say somethin’ sooner?”
“Franklin.. I ain’t deduce that shit ‘til now.“
“You really didn’t know?”
Even in the dream he could feel that previous frustration occur in his mind. Was he hiding in a glass closet or something? He could only let out a wry laugh.
“Yeah man. I was a fuckin’ fool, jus’ like you always said.”
“Damn straight.” He chuckled, and Lamar came to the conclusion that he could listen to that laugh forever. Franklin’s face then fell solemn.
“Y’know I really thought that.. I really thought that you jus’ got with someone else. Not even jus’ my Aunt. I saw how you wanted to get away from me, and I thought…” He stopped himself, petting Chop’s head.
“I.. wanted to be happy if you was, but the thought of that at all bothered me.”
“Why?”
“Cuz you were all I had, dog. Mike n Trevor, they have their own lives, their own history n shit. I can’t always rely on them. Denise don’t give a fuck what happen to me. You my lifeline dog, I’ve known you for years. I didn’t want you to forget me over a chick or sum’. That day you acted all different n shit, it worried me.”
“Hey man, y’know I ain’t ever gon pull that shit on you. I’m with you for life.”
“Then don’t pull other kinda stupid shit on me.”
“Whatchu mean?”
“You can’t ever die on me bro. That ain’t how this shit works.”
“Ay man, I don’t plan on dying jus’ yet. Not unless yo ass by my side. Not ‘til I tell you I…” He couldn’t finish the sentence.
Franklin got closer to his face, cupping his cheek. His eyes shone as the stars around them fell from the sky, akin to raindrops, hitting them. Everything about him was flooding Lamar’s senses, and it felt surreal, between his aroma and all the other things he loved about Franklin. Golden flecks covered them both, and the stars continued to crash down. The sky was growing darker than before.
“Just say the words Lamar. Say them and this shit’ll be over.”
“How?”
“Well first you need to wake yo ass up.”
“Huh?”
“I said wake up, fool!”
Lamar’s blissful dream had been interrupted by an unknown figure shaking him, literal raindrops hitting his face. He was still bleary eyed, only seeing a vague silhouette in front of him. A wet slap to the face rattled his brain around, the hangover settling in. Shit, was he still drunk? What time was it?
“Lamar! Get up!”
“Oh.. Th’fuck? Who- who that is?” He grunted out.
“It’s me you fuckin’ clown!”
“Frank?”
“Who the fuck else?”
“Why are you-”
He was abruptly yanked out of bed, thudding to the floor with a small “oof”.
“Get up you punk bitch!”
“Franklin what the fuck-”
He was grabbed again, tossed back onto his bed. Franklin straddled him, shaking Lamar by the collar.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!” He said, Lamar getting another slap to the face.
“What in the fresh fuck is you talkin’-” Another slap.
“15 fuckin’ missed phone calls! 15! Are you fuckin’ nuts?!”
Lamar’s eyes practically popped out of his head. 15? What the fuck did he say to him?
“I did what-”
Franklin shook him even harder by his shirt, stretching the material out. He was straining his voice now.
“You had me worried like fuckin’ crazy! I thought you was in some sorta fuckin’ trouble again! You blew my phone up when I told yo ass not to, and then didn’t fuckin’ pick up after I heard the first couple special messages you left me!”
Oh God. This was it. He told Franklin everything, didn’t he? The color drained from his face.
“Oh fuck me..” He mumbled, putting a hand over his eyes.
“What?!” Franklin yelled, shaking him again. Lamar’s head was pounding.
“Franklin.. what.. what I say on there? I barely remember a thing, let alone callin’ yo ass.”
“You seriously don’t fuckin’ remember?!”
“Yeah. Seriously, man.”
Franklin slid off of him, putting a palm to his face. He breathed through his nose hard, trying to calm down. Lamar realized he was drenched from the small downpour outside. Pellets of rain thumped against the window as a reminder that the storm never went away.
“You.. fuck, man. You started sayin’ all this shit about how bad a fuckin’ friend you was. That you, you was hidin’ all this shit and couldn’t live another day without tellin’ me.”
Okay. Good. He didn’t tell him the truth.
“You told me you wanted to die dog. Didn’t realize yo dumbass was safe n sound asleep in yo fuckin’ bed.”
“Oh.”
“…’Oh’? Is that really all you have to say?!”
“F, I was jus’ drunk. It was dumb of me, I know, but I.. It’s nothing, okay?”
“Don’t do this shit to me man! I’ve already dealt with enough of yo fuckin’ schemes n shit-”
“Frank.”
“It’s 3 am! You had Chop barkin’ his Goddamn head off the whole night!”
“Franklin.”
“Then I race my ass over here to find yo drunkass self passed out in bed-”
“Franklin.”
“What! What?! You finally gonna put yo two cents in for once?”
“Stop yelling. My head hurts like a bitch right now.”
“Good! I’m fuckin’ glad because I know mine does as well you fuckin’ asshole!”
Lamar looked pathetically up at him. This was getting out of hand. He let it go on for too long.
“Why did you come here then?” He croaked.
“Because you were fuckin’ sobbin’ into the phone! All I heard was you cryin’ like mad fuckin’ crazy and it scared me. You don’t ever do that shit, not even when you fucked up.”
“How much I say?”
“I got the first message pretty fuckin’ clear, the rest was jus’ incoherent bullshit. I barely got through the second one before speedin’ on over. You sounded hurt n shit, I thought something happened. I thought you was a goner.”
“No weird shit though right? I ain’t say nothin’ bad?”
“What? Lamar, what the fuck are you on about? I just told you what yo ass cried out to me! I couldn’t even understand any of the other messages!”
“Okay, okay. That’s.. good I guess.
“That’s good? Fuckin’ hell, why did I come here? You- ugh!”
“Franklin. Can you jus’ sit down before you pop a fuckin’ blood vessel? You stressin’ for nothin’.”
If anything, Lamar should be the one stressing right now. He had been so close to confessing without knowing. Franklin sat next to him, arms crossed.
“Franklin.”
“What.”
“I’m sorry that I scared you. I didn’t mean to.”
“Well good fuckin’ job, you accomplished that real well didn’t you.” He said, sarcastically applauding him.
“I thought you were cutting me off for good homie. You think I was gon’ let that happen?”
“Lamar, that still ain’t a good reason to freak me out like that in the middle of the night.”
“It’s only cuz you hadn’t been listenin’ to me bro. I’ve been wanting to tell you somethin’ so badly lately and I never.. got the chance.”
“Then do pray fuckin’ tell LD, what the fuck is so important that you had to do this shit to me at 3 AM!”
“Franklin man, c’mon-”
“No! Don’t start!”
Franklin stood, heading for the door as he spoke. He stopped in the threshold.
“Tell me what the fuck is goin’ on with you, or I’m leavin’ yo sad ass here to wallow. I mean it L.”
“Don’t be like that. Please man. I want to, but I-”
“Jus’ fuckin’ tell me! Why won’t you tell me?!”
“Frank-”
“I dragged my ass all the way over here for nothin’ didn’t I? You ain’t dead, you ain’t sayin’ shit, you jus’ bein’ so- ugh! Fuck!” He threw his hands up, exiting Lamar’s bedroom.
“I’m done man, fuck this.”
“Franklin wait- don’t go-” He pleaded.
Franklin did nothing but leave him stranded again, thunder rolling far in the distance. Lamar ran after him as he walked out the door, hearing the rain heavily hit the pavement. His mind was racing far ahead of him. Franklin was leaving, he was leaving for good, and he couldn’t. He can’t. That’s not how it’s supposed to work. Franklin can’t do that, he can’t-
His mind had gone so far away, that he didn’t even realize that he had tackled Franklin to the ground. The two of them fell to the ground with a loud splat, followed by sounds of pain.
“Lamar what the fuck?!”
“Don’t go! Fuckin’ hell, I gotta chase yo ass and for what?!”
“Get off me dog!”
“No!” Franklin was pinned beneath him. The raindrops that rolled off of Lamar hit him in the face.
It reminded Lamar of when they were younger, playing football or whatever sport they could outside even as the deluge soaked them both to the bone. The roles had been reversed, with Franklin constantly knocking him down onto the grassy sludge. They got quite an earful from Lamar’s mom as they tracked mud in the house upon returning. It was a memory amongst many that stuck with him like glue. Those memories couldn’t go away. Franklin couldn’t go away.
Tears mixed in with the rain as he yelled out to him.
“You fuckin’ idiot! Why you makin’ this shit so hard for me?! You keep leavin’ before I can even finish!”
Franklin struggled to break free from Lamar’s grip on his wrists, huffing as he looked away.
“Look at me!” Lamar shouted, grabbing his face with a free hand.
“I didn’t wanna fuckin’ tell you like this, but Jesus Christ! For fucks sake you stubborn asshole-”
He was doing it. He bit the fucking bullet.
“You know how we got into that fuckin’ argument last week? When I told you that I was dealin’ with that whole love thing, I wasn’t talkin’ about yo Aunt, a hoe, nobody else! I was talkin’ about you!”
Lamar threw himself off of him, stumbling backwards. Franklin propped himself onto his elbows. He finally said it. He said it, and he was far from finished.
“But you didn’t wanna fuckin’ listen! And now I’ve fucked our friendship over for a second time! All because of you! This whole thing has been drivin’ me fuckin’ insane lately, and I couldn’t do shit about it! I tried so, so hard to avoid this, but nothin’ ever goes my way, huh?! Every time I think a plan of mine’ll work, it doesn’t! You know why?!”
Opening his arms wide, he spoke loud and clear, finishing his rant.
“Lemme remind you: I’m Lamar fuckin’ Davis! The biggest fuckin’ fool, fuckin’ clown, fuckin’ whatever you wanna call me! Lamar Davis, the most naïve bitch on the planet! Fuck me for thinking that this would ever go well!”
Now it was his turn to leave. But he didn’t go back into his house. His legs moved for him, walking in no particular direction. He just needed to get away from Franklin, not caring about how damp his clothes were now. He was shaking, and he didn’t know if it was from the rain or the range of emotions he was flying through.
He could hear a pair of sneakers squishing behind him. Franklin was running, and he was catching up fast.
“Ay Lamar! Get back here!”
Oh fuck. He was chasing after him now. That’s not good. Lamar started running himself, not caring about possibly slipping and falling on his ass. Only a few hours ago, he had told himself he couldn’t be without Franklin. Now all he wanted to do was run away.
“Lamar!”
Fuck fuck fuck.
He wasn’t fast enough. The second time they hit the ground, Lamar had the wind knocked right out of him, the duo splashing right into a puddle. Hands gripped his shoulders, flipping him around.
“Lamar!”
There were only a few instances in his life where Lamar felt small. He’d always been big in character, big in height, and according to him, big in other ways. But this was one of those moments where he couldn’t help but flinch, wanting to collapse in on himself. He was so tired.
“If you gon’ beat my ass or somethin’ jus’ get it over with.” He sighed, shutting his eyes tight.
When he felt nothing but raindrops touch his face, he opened his eyes slowly. His heart sank when he did. Franklin was visibly upset, guilt in his eyes.
“Lamar. Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
A wave of déjà vu washed over him. Oh. So that’s what precognition meant. Motherfucking psychic lady.
“You should’ve jus’ told me man.”
“I tried dog. You wouldn’t hear me out.”
“Cuz I.. I thought you got with someone. I didn’t wanna hear it straight from yo mouth if you was.”
He shifted up, Frank sitting in his lap.
“Y’know I always thought that.. Part of me jus’ kinda thought that it’d always be the two of us. I’m never gonna get Tanisha back.. but you..”
Franklin looked away.
“You a crazy ass loyal motherfucker man. You stuck by my side no matter what, and some dumbass part of me was convinced that you… I mean fuck, so many times I thought you would jus’ flat out say something. Somethin’ so I could stop waiting for the one other person I had known forever to just say that they fuckin’ loved me like that.”
Lamar blinked, rainwater getting into his eyes. It wasn’t quite as serene as his dream had been, nor was it verbatim, but Lamar didn’t care. There was something about the way the water droplets sat along Franklin’s face, highlighted by a streetlight behind him that made him look angelic.
“When you started actin’ all weird it jus’.. made me so fuckin’ mad man. I thought you was gon’ pick someone else over me. Jus’ like Tanisha did.”
“Franklin..”
“So why didn’t you jus’ say somethin’ sooner? I waited. Hell, I don’t even know why I did at first.”
“Franklin.”
“But now I’m realizin’ you must not have even noticed yoself what you was feelin’, when I fuckin’ did. I noticed and you didn’t and-”
Lamar grabbed him by the face, grip surprisingly strong after being in the rain.
“How many times do I gotta say yo name for you to hear me?”
The rain kept falling, never slowing for either one of them. Yet, it felt like time stopped. Lamar chuckled lightly.
“Franklin Clinton and Lamar Davis. Two of the dumbest motherfuckers in LS. Homies for life.”
“Yeah. Homies for life.”
His hands never left Franklin’s face. He pressed their foreheads together, lowering his voice.
“I love you, bum ass bitch.”
“Yeah yeah. I love you too.”
He kissed the top of his head, moving his hands down to embrace him in a tight hug. When was the last time they did this? As he thought it over, he could hear Franklin’s voice muffled against his chest.
“Don’t scare me like that again. Next time save us both the trouble n jus’ spill yo heart out. Dramatic motherfucker.”
The words had no malice in them, Lamar feeling him smile as he said it. He kissed him once more, and they just sat in the rain, feeling it bathe them in fond memories.
//plz listen to remember the rain by 21st century it’s so good 💔😭 anyway ya i decided to end it on a sorta happy note !!!!! franklin is a stubborn guy smh,, sorry for any typos lol also i rlly had no idea where i wanted to go with this so sorry if it’s weird or whatever

I’m howling at some of those AUs for that ask meme so here we go:
Circus/hospital au; circus/detective au; circus au + stranded on a deserted island
All for farawyn 😌
Actually I think you’ll find that all farawyn fics are circus AUs because they’re a couple of fucking clowns :)
Circus/hospital AU—
Éowyn does the globe of death (that thing where performers ride their motorcycles around a metal ball), and Faramir is, lmao, a lion tamer (master of beasts, baby, canon-compliance!!!!). She landed in hospital after the globe she was riding in collapsed outwards, sending her tumbling. Faramir landed there after the lion he was performing with was injected with adrenaline instead of ketamine (I don’t know jack shit about animal handling in circuses but I am going to go ahead and assume they are cartoonishly unethical) and damn near ripped his arm off.
It’d be a sort of classic Houses of Healing story EXCEPT they are forced into situations together because they’re planning on suing the circus company, and, uh, obviously lawsuits of that nature require loads of time hanging out in each other’s hospital rooms? Duh?
Merry is there because he was in the sidecar to Éowyn’s motorcycle. Also, inexplicably, he is a clown. His squeaking, oversized shoes are always described but never remarked upon.
Circus/detective AU—
Sorry this has to be a noir-inspired story. Has to be.
So, it’s the late 1940s, maybe early 1950s, and Faramir is a PI in a quiet suburb of a made-up dystopian hellzone I like to call “London.” His father and brother are both cops, but Faramir decided to take the far more moral route of, uh, private policing. Don’t think too hard about it. Anyways, one day a man shows up at his door with a case.
The man says he used to work for a circus that travels the country, family owned business, all as above board as can be, good sort of folk. But the owner’s son (the ringmaster) turned up dead, his niece went missing, and suddenly everything’s in chaos. He hires Faramir to figure out who killed the owner’s son and what happened to the owner’s niece.
At first, it seems like a pretty cut and dry case: the niece—who was the ringmaster’s assistant—was notoriously under appreciated by her family and had high-flying dreams of having her own act in the show. The ringmaster turns up dead the morning after she disappears, though most of the circus folk are in disbelief that she could have done such a thing, all the evidence points to her being the killer. Faramir’s client, however, is insistent that that cannot be true.
As the story progresses, more is revealed about the niece and the family behind the circus. Intrigue! Melodrama! Gender politics! Buffoonery! Faramir’s own life grows more difficult: pressure from his family, a general dislike of the work he does and the life he leads—this story’s got it all!
The climax of the story comes when it’s revealed that Faramir’s client is none other than Éowyn herself, desperate to clear her name in the eyes of her uncle and her brother before she flees to America to start a new life for herself. In a master stroke of professional ethics, Faramir, who, after having suffered a crisis or ten, has whole ass admitted he’s in love with Éowyn, solves the case, pins it all on Gríma (including Éowyn’s “death”) and together they depart for New Yawk.
Circus AU + stranded on a desert island—
Shipwreck! Circus performers travelling from one major continent to another are swept away by a tempest, washed up on a lovely tropical island in the middle of nowhere. Lord of the Rings ensues. Just kidding.
Christ this one deadass stumped me. I did the first two of these in, like, literally half an hour at lunch at now it’s 11pm and I haven’t figured this one out, rip 💀
Okay try this one on for size:
They’re the only survivors of a shipwreck. Éowyn is a lasso performer (this is a circus thing I swear I saw it at Cirque de Soleil or whatever), Faramir a blind marksman. After washing up on a deserted island, Éowyn almost immediately takes to the trees—she’s not totally resigned herself to death yet, but she’s decided she’s not going to go out of her way to get back to civilisation. Faramir keeps to the beach, positively obsessed with getting back.
They meet by accident, and decide to team up out of necessity. But fractures begin to show when Éowyn’s approach to getting off the island is 🤷‍♀️ and Faramir is full type-A. Over time, they needle one another about why they’re reacting the way they are. Éowyn doesn’t want to return to her old life because it sucked ass and nobody treated her well. Faramir’s desperate to return because he can’t fathom not having a Purpose. Despite that pretty significant difference, they start to fall in love.
Eventually, a passing steamer sees Faramir’s…bonfire (?) and sends out a rescue boat. The moment has come for each of them to choose. Éowyn, distraught, but unable to verbalise her emotions, heads back into the forest, expecting Faramir to go with the rescue boat. Hours later, she returns to the beach to discover he stayed. [Cue Phil Collins drum solo]

7 Horror Movie Tropes You Didn’t Know About - And What They REALLY Mean
The other day, I went for a rather wet walk with my mother.
It was the complete Kent experience: there was a field of rather aggressive cows, there was a mid-morning loo break in a lockdown-squandered pub and there was an overpriced bag of fudge at the end of it.
But in the middle of the hike - just as we passed through a rural farm - my mum pointed something out.
The cornfields still hadn’t been harvested.
I looked around and realised we were in a picture-perfect Halloween scene.
October had just turned, pitching crisp leaves across the farm tracks. There were dark clouds brewing in the sky. And the thick, stretches of cornrows completed the image.
And I couldn’t help but wonder-
*insert Sexy and the City reference*
Why are corn fields such a staple of horror film scenery? Is it the sign of a rural location? Is it the height and depth of the stalks suggest creeps and creatures lurk within?
Let’s go deep into the maze of our favourite horror tropes. And see if we make it out alive.
Tumblr media
The Evil Clown
This trope twists a staple memory from all of our childhoods and plays upon the dark reality of predators in our society. But it also draws upon real, monster clowns: ever heard of John Wayne Gacey? He was one of America’s most notorious serial killers and sex offenders who donned an alter ego as a familiar children’s entertainer to cover his heinous acts.
It’s been leveraged in countless films, from IT to All Hallow’s Eve, all of which subvert the traditional, bright-coloured garb for gothic, Victorian style. But the colour palette only adds to the fear of strange, older men that slap on an alien disguise and hang around groups of children.
The monster clown sits amongst other takes on childhood nostalgia, from vintage toy jumpscares to the plain ol’ possessed girl. That being said, most kids - hell, most people - aren’t fond of clowns. Nevertheless, it still snatches something from our nostalgia and corrupts it.
The Crazy Girl No One Believes
Aside from the occasional anomaly, you don’t often get many killer clowns. A majority of tropes exist exclusively behind the camera lens. Unfortunately, all of the one’s involving women are far too often all too real.
A bit like this trope.
She’s hysterical. She has no clue what she’s talking about. She’s just doing it for attention.
Or maybe, they just ignore her instead of coming up with some outdated response to her cries for help. It wouldn’t be the first time a woman’s opinion was overlooked.
The Invisible Man is a great example of this: convinced she’s suffering from PTSD and severe anxiety, the friends of a woman that just escaped from an abusive relationship send her to a mental health facility when she claims her ex is following her. And is now invisible.
Tumblr media
No Mobile Phone Coverage
I’m not sure anyone predicted how reliant we would all become on mobile phones. I’m writing this blogpost whilst simultaneously watching a YT compilation of the BBC’s Ghosts.
Back in the early noughties, no bars on your flipphone was a classic sign shit was about to go dowwwwwn. But these days, this trope is more realistic than ever.
Despite this symbolic nature of having no reception in a rural, unknown location and therefore having to rely on potential-serial-killer randoms, it also chimes with the reality of terrifying events. During terrorist attacks like 9/11 and the 7/7 London bombings, mobile phone coverage reportedly dropped as a result of high demand on mobile networks.
Not being able to contact the emergency services or your loved ones during such a traumatic, scary moment probably defeats any other horror trope that made it to this article.
The Girl That Runs - And Then Falls
It’s hard enough being the crazy chick no one believes. But when you do happen run away from the monster you’ve warned everyone about, you suddenly lose all ability to maintain balance.
The trope obviously attempts to keep up suspense during a dramatic scene. It succumbs into our frustrations as the serial killer closes in on the young, limber, virginal college student after a soapy shower scene sticky with the male gaze.
But more than that, I’m pretty sure this is another misogynistic take on women in film. As in women literally cannot run without falling over. Not only is this known to play on sexual violence, I’m pretty sure it also mirrors the Final Girl trope.
We will get to her later.
If you were being chased down by a vampire-murderer-cult-leader, your adrenaline would kick in and effectively unleash your fight-or-flight mode. This natural ability to survive an attack is often associated with the male body during horror films, especially as the final girl typically takes on male characteristics to survive the threat at the end of the film.
Watching a girl fail to successfully run away is an indicator that she is a damsel in distress and certainly cannot live up to the male standards of fitness.
The Final Girl
She’s probably the most famous - no, scratch that, infamous - feature of the horror genre. Entire books have been dedicated to analysing her struggle, but here’s what you need to know.
🎃She’s a good girl - AKA a virgin - and is therefore superior to the bimbo-esque, deserve-to-die friends she surrounds herself with.
🎃She only survives/takes down the monster at the end of the film by assuming male features.
🎃OR she gets saved by the strapping male protagonist like the pathetic woman she is.
It’s a bit like a wish-list for everything the ideal woman should be.
Either an innocent young girl that validates the male audience as the saviours, or she unlearns her pesky female traits and just lives up to being “the better sex”.

Death By Sex
The final girl makes it through 90 minutes. Her friends, on the other hand, barely make it past the 20 minute mark.
That’s because they’re sluts. They’re whores. They’re b*tches.
That being said, death by sex isn’t just considered a punishment for being a bimbo, nor does it suggest young people are distracted by their desperation to get laid.
It’s also believed to have its origins in the 1980s, with the AIDS epidemic. It’s a metaphor for when sex sometimes resulted in illness and death. The scaremongering probably echoes the tactics of sex education that promoted celibacy and created an even bigger culture of blame on the LGBT+ community for HIV.
Creepy-Ass Cornfields
Corn mazes are a staple of the end of summer and beginning of autumn, fitting the timing of Halloween neatly. But cornfields also match up with the trope of a vast, dead forest that the characters always happen to get lost in.
They’re endless. They conceal what lies within. They’re miles away from civilisation.
Many horror novels and films have directly tacked onto the cornfield storyline, such as Children of the Corn.

Is there a trope that I missed?

Dirty Little Secret | Chapter 3: Bandanas
fuckbuddy!JJ x Kook!Reader
series masterlist | prev. chapter | chapter one
You and JJ are fuck buddies- strictly physical. But what happens when you find yourself falling more and more for everyone’s favorite golden boy even though all he can see you as is a spoiled rich girl?
Tumblr media
Your eyes peeled open. You groaned at the lack of sleep as you shifted to your bedside table to check your phone. Almost immediately after your rendezvous the night before, JJ dashed out the window, leaving you to drift to sleep.
Sometimes, you’d get this weird feeling after he would leave so quickly- like you were being used. Well, you were, but you hated feeling like it. It was like a comedown after the euphoria of sex and it didn’t always feel the best, but you dealt with it. It had be going on for almost three months; you were way too in over your head at this point.
You sighed, staring at the wall across your bed, thinking back to the remnants of that first night. How nasty and humid the air felt as you both rejoined the party after like nothing happened:
“You can’t tell anyone about what just happened,” JJ stated as he fixed his shorts.
His words did pierce you slightly, but you put on a front nevertheless. “Please, I’d rather be caught dead than with you.”
He chuckled to himself as you both trudged down the beach. “That’s not what I heard back there princess.”
It didn’t take long for your parents to blow up your phone that night, seeing it was 3 a.m. and their daughter was nowhere to be found. You came home with the smell of alcohol emitting through your clothes. You only hoped you had wiped off enough smeared mascara on the car ride home to deter them. Your mother read you the riot act as Ted stood in the corner of the kitchen. She screamed and hollered before her palm finally came in contact with your cheek.
The following Monday, you ditched last period and drove over to The Cut, hoping to come across JJ. Driving along a narrow street, you see the shirtless golden boy mowing the lawn in a small yard. Pulling up, you rolled the windows down while a devilish grin snaked its way to his lips once he caught sight of you.
“Couldn’t stay away from me huh?”
You glared at him. “Just shut up and get in.”
Shutting off the lawn mower, he hopped in your car, smelling of sweat and freshly cut grass .
“Look,” you began, fiddling with the ends of your blouse, “I’m not looking for anything serious.”
JJ’s finger tilted your chin up to meet his eyes. It was different seeing them in broad daylight. He didn’t seem like some sleazy Pogue you met at a party. He actually reminded you of a puppy... an annoying one with anger issues.
“I understand if-”
“No, I get you,” he answered, biting his lower lip. “After the way we fucked that night, I’m down to... go at it again.”
“Okay but we need rules,” you insisted to which he rolled his eyes. “What’s with chicks and rules?”
“This island is small and talk gets around. No one can know about us.”
“Well duh.” He gave you an annoyed look. “You may think you’re all that and a bag of chips but my friends would totally clown me if they found out I was with a Kook, much less you.”
“Oh please! What do you even know about me?” you retorted, not having his attitude outburst.
“Y/n, you’re like bitchiest of them all,” he replied snarkily and your eyes met the ceiling of your car. “Not even the Kooks like you.”
“Shut up, asshole.” You tried to hide the hurt from the fact that even he knew about your reputation. “Anyways, rule number two: we have to meet on Figure Eight.”
“Hell no, why do I have to haul my ass to you?”
You sighed heavily, gripping the bottom of the steering wheel. “My stepdad will literally kill me if he finds me here. Look, I know all the hiding places there and I’ll even get you a keycard to get in through the gate.”
JJ smiled to himself. “Kill you huh? And yet, here you are, coming here, practically begging for me to fuck you. What will daddy think about that?”
You contemplated punching him in that moment. “Don’t flatter yourself. You followed me that night remember?”
JJ shrugged, leaning back in the seat. “I thought you were a touron. It was dark- sue me. Anyways, fine! We meet at the Eight. Anything else?”
“This goes without saying, but absolutely no feelings,” you stated sternly as JJ snorted.
“Oh princess, you do not have to worry about that whatsoever.”
“Fine then, it’s a deal.”
You both shook on it. JJ held onto your hand a moment longer to tug you onto the passenger seat, colliding his lips with yours. It didn’t take you both very long to undress and climb into the back seat afterwards.
A loud knock on your bedroom door startled you. “Y/n! Breakfast in ten minutes!”
Peeling off your duvet, you leaped out of bed and started doing some small stretches until you noticed a jumbled up grey bandana on your window seat.
“Fucking kid,” you muttered to yourself before reaching for it and throwing it in a bin on your shelf.
JJ was klepto alright. He also had a terrible habit of leaving shit everywhere he went. If he tried to rob a bank, he’d be caught in seconds because he’d leave some trace of him. Over the course of your agreement you unintentionally started making a collection of the things he left. What started out as a bracelet on your nightstand grew to socks, lighters, hats, sunglasses, tank tops, and the occasional perfectly rolled joint (that he’d never see again). You always meant to give back all the shit he left, but he’d always leave so hurriedly that you’d forget and the collection would just grow.

“Jade!” you blurted unexpectedly as you strolled into the kitchen. “What are you doing here?”
The small brunette sat next to your mother at the table, halfway done with her breakfast plate. She flashed you her killer sunny smile as your mom chimed in from her seat. “Jade here was in the neighborhood and wanted to take you on a boat ride this morning with the Cameron family.”
“It’ll be fun y/n!” she insisted, kicking her tiny legs that didn’t reach the floor.
You were a little confused as to why you were invited to hang out with the Cameron kids seeing as they have always ignored you at school and every event. Jade caught on and threw you a look that said ‘just go with it’.
“Um, yeah. I’m really excited to hang out with uh- Sierra and Ra- her brother,” you babbled, earning yourself an ‘Are you fucking kidding me’ look. You shrugged your shoulders, helping yourself to some eggs and pancakes.
“Well sweetie, I think it’s great that you’re getting to know more people around here! Don’t forget you do need an escort for the Debutante Ball in a few weeks so maybe you can ask the Cameron boy to take you,” your mother suggested and Jade nearly spit out her fruit at the mention of it.
You closed your eyes, sighing. “Yes, of course mother.”
“So when were you going to tell me you’re a debutante!” Jade cackled as you both made way to the Camerons’ boat along the dock.
“If you ever mention it again, I will personally slit your throat.”
“You! You y/n of all people!” She had to suppress her laughter to a fit of giggles. “So wait, you’ve been going to Chapel Hill all this time to learn how to ballroom dance and do all that?”
You rolled your eyes. “Yes! I told you my mother is actually insane. Anyways, what are we doing hanging out with the Camerons anyways? I thought you hated their sister.”
“I do,” Jade responded as-a-matter-of-factly, “It’s the brother that’s delicious. Oh- and Sarah won’t be there and neither will their dad or any of their family really. It’s just going to be Rafe and a couple of his friends. He told me to bring some friends too so it won’t be awkward.”
“And you chose me of all people? Jade, you have plenty of other very sociable friends you could have brought.”
“Shut up y/n! You’re hot as shit okay! You just need to get out there more and meet people. Maybe then you won’t hate it here so much. Trust me, once you experience the OBX the right way, you’ll absolutely love it.”
You crinkled your nose at her. “You’re just as insane as my mother.”
“Come on! There are hot guys wanting to take us on their very nice boats. It’s free drinks and maybe some food,” she promised.
You groaned. “Fine, but if any of them make an unsolicited move on me, I’m jumping overboard and swimming home. Also, now that I think about it, isn’t Rafe like way too old to be hanging around us?”
Jade shrugged. “A little age never hurt nobody.” The boys whooped as Jade made her grand entrance onto their very large white boat as you trailed behind. Another thing you weren’t well versed in since moving here- boats. To you it was just big and small, windows and no windows, motor and no motor, but it was like a language here. When everyone would start rambling off about engines and fishing and whatnot you would just kindly smile and nod until they got the hint and walked away.
“Who’s your friend McCoy?” a tall boy with slicked back hair asked Jade as he enclosed an arm around her waist.
“Rafe, this is y/n! She moved here in October and lives on the east end of the Eight.”
So this was the famous Rafe Cameron. You’d seen him a couple times golfing with Ted when you would hide away in the golf cart on your phone. Ted would mention a few times about how he was trouble and, telling by the way he still hung out with high schoolers at almost 20 years old, you believed it.
You smiled uneasily and gave him a tiny wave as two other guys emerged from the front with a cooler. They both coordinated with the colorful short-shorts and printed button ups. They also wore those God-awful tinted sunglasses with the band connecting the backs. You recognized them from school- Topper and Kelce.
“Oh hey y/n,” they greeted tensely, each giving you an awkward smile and one-armed hug. You were in shock they knew your name even.
“McCoy, did you bring anyone else?” Kelce asked, totally not making it obvious of your unwanted presence.
Not even the Kooks like you.
You knew you’d have a hard time the moment you stepped foot onto Figure Eight. You had a very humble upbringing, which was unfathomable to the kids at school, so it was hard for you to make any real friends besides Jade. During the school year, you ate lunch by yourself and sprinted home as soon as the final bell rang. It got to a point where, when anyone would try to talk to you, you’d either roll your eyes or just simply ignore them.
“Nope! Just me and my girl.” Jade flung an arm around your shoulder and handed you a beer. She raised her eyebrows at you to check if you were okay, and you smiled reassuringly, taking the bottle.
“Let’s hope she knows how to hang,” Topper added as he started the engine on the boat.
You sipped on your beer as you rode down the marsh. Kelce tried to make small talk with you as Topper drove and Jade macked on Rafe. It actually wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be, Kelce did have the occasional funny story or witty thing to say even if it was about swinging a golf club or purchasing some extravagant item no one ever needed.
“Woah Pogue alert,” you heard Topper warn as he steered next to a smaller boat hanging on the side
You glanced over and immediately met eyes with JJ who was casually laying back with his friends- two dudes and a girl. When he wasn’t acting like a complete jerk, he actually looked down to earth and kind of innocent. Cans of cheap beer littered their deck and a cute little ‘HMS Pogue’ lettering hung from the back.
You turned back to Kelce, thinking it was just a quick pass by until you heard something thump on the side of the boat from their side.
“Fucking rats!” Rafe barked at the group and hurled an open can of beer over towards them.
“That’s for the van you sons of bitches!” you heard JJ holler as Topper slowed down the boat so they were eye-to-eye.
“Hey that’s payback! I know it was you that fucked up my bike, filthy Pogue!” Topper snarled, pointing at JJ, tumbling more shit in their direction.
The throwing escalated into an all-out war. You screamed and joined Jade who was clearly outraged as she ducked under the cooler for cover.
“Rafe, just fucking drop it and let’s go! You’re wasting shit at this point,” she urged also throwing Topper a stern look to get moving.
“This isn’t over!” Rafe roared at the group as Topper sped up the engine again.
“That’s right, just ride along you fucking Kooks! And take your hoes with you!” JJ shouted.
You threw a glare his way at the vulgar name he called you and stuck up middle fingers his way, sailing off.
Fucking tool.
