Happy Carylmas, all! A/N: A belated Carylmas gift for @theresnosafeharbor4myships. I hope you enjoy this bit of festive joy!

“Joyeux Noël!”

Daryl groaned and rolled onto his side away from the chirpily annoying voice. “G’way,” he mumbled into his pillow as he attempted to burrito himself back into sleep. “S’not even light out yet.”

“Dammit, Daryl, get your ass out of bed, Laurent and the other kids are waiting for their first visit from Santa Claus, and you agreed to play the part!”

Daryl’s groan turned to a yelp of protest as the blanket was brutally, mercilessly yanked out of his grip and tossed to the floor. He sat up, shaking his hair out of his face, and glared at his nemesis. Had he really told this woman he loved her? What a dumbass he’d been! If he’d known she’d turn on him like this, he’d’ve left her in the hands of the Pouvoir Des Vivants agents who’d brung her over to France when she’d come looking for him!

“Carol,” he whined, reaching up to grasp her wrists in his and yank her down against his body. “Wouldn’t you rather stay in bed and, you know, find somethin’ more interesting to do?”

Then he kissed her, and she kissed him back, melting into his arms, and he thought he’d won - and then she neatly flipped him over and onto the floor where he landed with a huge thump and a loud, “What the hell-!!”

She peered down at him, silver hair glowing like a halo in the dim light of the rising sun. “Kids first, Daryl,” she said primly. “But I promise,” she added as he glared up at her, “Santa and Mrs. Claus will have the rest of the day all to themselves.”

Then she smiled, and all his objections - weak, piddly things he knew them to be - melted in the quiet joy he felt at being reunited with the one person in all the world who understood him best…

…and still loved him as much as he loved her.

Both are from the same author: Michelle Del Vale, known here on tumblr as @theresnosafeharbor4myships, who excels on writing missing scenes and headcanons. A Hellcat of a Dixon is posted on 9Lives. Summary: My headcanon on the aftermath of the s3 deleted Carol and Merle scene. Rated: T / Teen and Up Audiences Word count: 544  Published: December 29, 2015 Every caryler loves the deleted scene where Carol threatens Merle and agrees that it should've been kept in the episode. Our author here shared with us how she imagined the aftermath of that little talk would go with Daryl. It's adorable, it's fun, it's everything we wish we got back then. Great, really great Merle's voice! Light in the Dark is also posted on 9Lives. Summary: Missing scene from 10x04. Daryl's thoughts about his conversation with Carol on the steps of their house.  Rated: T / Teen and Up Audiences Word count: 1203  Published: October 28, 2019 If the first rec is all light and fun, this one is so bittersweet and quite emotional. It feels like an organic continuation of the scene we've got on the show. Daryl's POV about how they should have left to New Mexico when they had a chance as opposed to his desire to stay and protect Lydia is beautifully written. Were you named after anyone? Not that I am aware of.

When was the last time you cried? Earlier when I read astory on Facebook about Ann-Margret and how she treats veterans. Such a beautiful story I read.

Do you have kids? Yes, I have one living child, and one child that I lost before I was able to birth her. I am not sure if that child was a girl or boy, but in my heart, I feel she was a girl. So I've always referred to that pregnancy/baby as a girl.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? No. Only seldomly can I use it correctly.

What's the first thing you notice about people? Their smile or their eyes.

What's your eye color? Green.

Scary movies or happy endings? Both. But if I have to choose, I'll pick happy endings. But scary movies are some of my absolute favorites.

Any special talents? Not a bit.

Where were you born? Illinois.

What are your hobbies? Writing, attempting to craft (but it looks terrible. But I have fun). Photoshop.

Have any pets? Yes, I do. I have three cats named Emily, Penelope, and Picasso. I have two dogs named Roxie and Abby. And I have two African Dwarf Frogs named Tango and Cash. I want more of the frogs.

What sports do you play/have you played? I have played basketball, softball, t-ball (as a wee thing), and volleyball.

How tall are you? Five foot five inches.

Favorite subject in school? Algebra. It's like doing a puzzle. I like puzzles.

Dream job? Veterinarian. Or author.
