A Musical Journey At The Sea Ranch Lodge With trio ellipsis … On Thursday, June 8th, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., when local saxophonist Harrison Goldberg performs with trio ellipsis... at the popular, and now twice monthly Sunset & Jazz Series in The Fireside Room at The Sea Ranch Lodge, he will continue a trend he has developed over a five year period. Goldberg says: "Although it was not intentional at first, a rotating roster of talented musicians with whom I have had the unique opportunity to perform a diverse, eclectic and often challenging jazz repertoire has evolved and become the standard for these highly anticipated performances." The saxophonist continues: "The group I have assembled for this musical outing features long time friend and creative collaborator, guitarist and composer, Elijah Carreiro, along with multidimensional percussion master, Chad Swimmer. We will venture away from the traditional jazz model that draws its influence from the The Great American Songbook. Ours is a journey that will offer some uncertain and exciting new musical terrain to navigate." He adds: "Improvisation, melodic content, the element of surprise, and a strong rhythmic component, these elements also germane to jazz music, will inform our entirely spontaneous performance that we are so excited to share with our audience." Carreiro, who will be playing standard 6-string guitars with effects pedals, is a long time musician, composer and producer here on the northern coast of California. He has worked with a number of local artists both in production and performance. Speaking about his craft and his musical role in trio ellipsis... the guitarist says, "I'll be playing a variety of styles influenced by a large range of musical genre while staying true to my own style and characteristics of playing. Using acoustic and electric guitars, I'll create different soundscapes and backgrounds.
