After taking my sweet time in viewing The Crown - Season 3, I gathered all my excitement and creative energy (do I really now?) to continue my ambitious project - The Sims 4 version of Buckingham Palace. Again, limitations in the game mean that I couldn’t pull it off 100% but I’m still happy and excited to share to you one of my projects that is closest to my heart.

Have I mentioned before that this has been a project years in the making? Yes, it started from The Sims 3 - which ran the course of its life without me completing this. Then, in TS4 I had multiple revisions (sometimes being a perfectionist does have its pros and cons).

This project wouldn’t have been possible without countless searches on Pinterest and stalker-ish searching online for photographs of the rooms (No, I haven’t been to Buckingham Palace).

Now, let me give you a tour around Buckingham Palace - à la The Sims 4 style!

For a very special guest like you, we pass through the main archway and here I give you a glimpse of the West Wing portico. (My Sim Royal Family isn’t in residence right now - which means we have all access! Yay!)

Now, we enter through the Grand Entrance. According to historians, this area was ‘sunken’ to give that high ceiling effect. Before the Buckingham Palace became this grand home to Her Majesty, it started out as a small house bought by George III for Queen Charlotte.

Before we go to the Principal Floor, let us see the rooms on the Ground Floor. Here, we have the Marble Hall. At the end, you can see the foot of the Ambassador’s Staircase. (I tried to fully recreate the Marble Hall by recoloring @thejim07​ portraits with the actual portraits care of the Royal Collection Trust website.)

We are now in the Bow Room. If Her Majesty, The Queen hosts garden parties, we go exit through this room and proceed to the Palace Gardens but unfortunately, the next garden party will be scheduled next year. Maybe we’ll invite you by then?

From the Bow Room, we proceed to The 1844 Room. This is where The Queen usually receives distinguished guests (https://www.vogue.com/article/1844-room-buckingham-palace).

If we go farther, we can reach the Belgian Suite. Her Majesty’s guests stay in this Suite. Some of the distinguished guests that stayed here were the Obamas for their state visit (This is actually my own interpretation of it, there seems to be no photos of it online.).

Now, if we just go back to The Bow Room, we can access The 1855 Room opposite The 1844 Room.

Hope you’re excited now, we’ll be going up. Kindly follow me to The Grand Staircase.

Well, it’s not as grand as it looks now but at least the portraits are faithful representations, eh? Now, may I direct your attention to the next room in the tour?

We are now in the Green Drawing Room. You may take a look at the view outside by the Portico if you wish.

Shall we move on to the next room?

This is the Throne Room. Official functions are held at the Grand Ballroom (of which, is absent in this build due to space limitations) though official photographs of events are usually taken here. The portrait on the left side is a portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II with Willow, Vulcan, Candy and Holly commissioned by the Royal Mail Group last 2013.

We are now in the Picture Gallery. On display are (supposedly) The Queen’s collection of Italian, Dutch and Flemish works from around the 17th-century.

Now, we’re here at the White Drawing Room; quite famous of the State Rooms and well-known if you ask me. You can see the portrait of Queen Alexandra hung above the fireplace. This room is usually used for small gatherings and audiences. HM The Queen usually does her Christmas Message in this room.

Next stop is the Music Room. During summers when the Palace is open to the public, collections, such as the Queen’s dresses, are displayed here.

The Blue Drawing Room. You can see portraits of Queen Mary and King George V. Did you know that the architect who was tasked to redesign Buckingham Palace went over budget?

...and we have the State Dining Room. Again, this is usually reserved for small gatherings since State Banquets are done at The Grand Ballroom.

Now, I’ll be giving you an extra tour of the palace. HM has extended her warmest regards to you, our very special guest.

Maybe she’s waiting for you at the Private Audience Chamber? Oh, she’s out but feel free to look around instead. (I tried to copy this room from photographs the Queen has with dignitaries - well, this is the most dignified recreation I can make.)

Now, we’ll be passing through the Principal Corridor. We’re already at the East Wing and I’ll be showing you the Balcony Room.

We’re now in the Balcony Room. This is where the Royal Family gathers before they go out the Balcony and wave at the British (Sims?) people during great events - and no, you may not go out on the Balcony as protocols permit only the Queen and members of the Royal Family.

On the South end of the East Wing, you can find the Yellow Drawing Room. Yes, this place has a lot of sitting rooms.

On the North end of the East Wing, we have the Chinese Dining Room. The Chinese collection came from the Brighton Pavilion when Queen Victoria commissioned the construction of the East Wing of Buckingham Palace.

Since we’re already on the North Facade, how about a tour in the Queen’s Private Apartments? (Old paintings show a predominantly green room dated to Queen Victoria’s time.)

For the last part of the tour, the Private Apartments of the members of the Royal Family. (This was heavily inspired by The Crown - Season 3).

The Harwood Castle

The Castle is the ancestral house for the Duke of Harwood. Built in 16th Century in Langen (then capital of the Duchy of Harwood, now part of the State of Calibria). The English style castle is one of the largest private estate in Simparthia.

The present residences of the Castle is The 12th Duke of Harwood, HRH Prince David. The Duke is the first cousin to The Queen Mother of Simparthia. His father, the late Prince Edward was the younger brother to The Queen Mother’s father the late King Fredrick IX.

He lived there with his Asian dencendent wife, HRH Sofia the Duchess of Harwood and their two sons Lord Edward and Lord William. His mother, HRH Princess Helen, The Dowager Duchess of Harwood also live there.

WIP (Breaking storyline)

Because I'm on vacation and Buckingham Palace has always been my dream. So, why not? 😄

I was mainly inspired by the versions created by the incredibles @thesimquisition, @thesimpireblr and @houseofstrahan, making the necessary adaptations for my game and according to my construction skills.

Welcome to Bucksimgham Palace!! A private tour of the state apartments

Welcome to another, undergoing, building project for the Simpire simblr story :)

As I mentioned in the last post, The Imperial family is in Bucksimgham palace, the official residence of Her Highness Dowager Tsarina’s sister Queen Elisabeth II of United Simgdom, for the birthday celebrations.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing contents of numerous creators, many researches and photos but ,most importantly, the amazing Buckingham Palace project from @thesimquisition, the inspiration It gave me and the plans he shared (the rooms are almost the same size :) )

Now let’s start the tour of my version of this Grand Palace, the closest I could get to reality, hope you enjoy the tour as much as I’m loving building it :)

Her Majesty, Queen Elisabeth II of United Simgdom Welcomes you into her official residence, the grand Bucksimgham Palace. Since her majesty and her guests are in residence for the birthday celebrations, our tour will be restricted to the state apartments of the Piano Nobile. (the rooms that are finished 😅)

As we pass through the main archway, under the front wing of the palace, we are greeted by the palace Inner courtyard, we can see the West Wing and the entrance portico, part of the oldest section of the palace, from the Victorian Age. 

For this special tour you are invited to enter the palace through the portico into the Grand Entrance of the palace, if you may follow me and climb the steps... 

Welcome inside the palace Grand Entrance. For centuries architecture has been used as a way to show power, in this case royal power, the intention of the architect when creating this amazing sunken space was to, on one side and as explained by @thesimquisition​, give a high ceiling effect but also to create an architectonic narrative, a symbolic promenade. 

From Darkness to Light... as we enter the palace we are greeted by a grand, but rather darker space, but, as we approach the sovereign (Throne room) the rooms gets lighter and lighter... The sovereign is the light...

From this room we can get access to the grand rooms on the ground floor (still in progress) and to the Piano Nobile through the Grand Staircase. But, before we continue to the upper floor, we can visit the Marble Hall...

This amazing hall, filled with portraits and sculptures from Her majesty collection, gives access to both the state apartments in the ground floor and some of the guest apartments. At the end of this hall we find the Ambassador’s Staircase.

As we make our way to the state apartments, we return to the Grand entrance...

... Welcome to the Grand Staircase, this magnificent white and gold room filled with paintings gives access to the state apartments of the palace. From one side we can get access to the Throne Room and, through the other, we can get access to the East gallery and the Grand Ballroom..

Please follow me as we continue to climb the stairs into the state apartments...

As we get to the top of the Grand staircase, we are greeted by this small room where we can find the statues of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the royal couple that made Buckingham Palace what it is today, let’s continue our tour to the...

Green drawing room. This amazing room in green, white and gold is the first grand room of the state apartments and it distributes the visitor into the Picture Gallery and...

... to the next room in our tour...

... The Throne room...

This red and gold room is the most symbolic room in the palace and the last in the symbolic power promenade. The interior designed by John Nash, features a plaster frieze showing scenes from the Wars of the Roses.

Today this room is the symbol of the monarchy, many thrones of different monarchs are displayed here, all surrounding the baldacchino with the current monarch, and her consort, thrones. 

On the left side, we can see (my remake of) the portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II with Willow, Vulcan, Candy and Holly commissioned by the Royal Mail Group last 2013. Shall we continue the tour through the next room.

 On the main floor, right above the Marble Hall, we can find the Picture Gallery. An amazing and long gallery that connects all the state apartments and displays part of HM collection of 17th century Italian, Dutch and Flemish art works. Receptions usually happen in this room as well as smaller banquets.

Now shall we continue to the most famous enfilade of rooms, and the most recognizable in all the palace. The first room we will find is the...

...White Drawing Room, one of the most famous rooms of the State apartments. 

It is usually in this room where the queen greets guests, hosts small gatherings, audiences as well as grand family occasions. 

Now let us proceed to the next room on our tour.

Now we enter the Music room set of some state occasions, small events, many official portraits, tv appearances of the royal family and photos with foreign heads of state.

The next stop on our tour is (my favorite room of all) the Blue Drawing Room. Named by its decor featuring blue flock wallpaper and columns painted to resemble the onyx stone.

This long and really ornate room became very well known for HM young portraits with HRH Prince Philipe as well as from some state occasions. The next room in our tour, is the...

... State Dining Room. This red and gold room is usually reserved for smaller banquets and reception (larger events as well as State Banquets are held in The Grand Ballroom)

Now that we have seen all the grand state apartments...

we will continue our way into the Bucksimgham Palace grandest room. If you please follow me, we will...

... pass through  the West gallery, this gallery connects the state apartments with the Grand Ballroom, we will continue our tour and take the door on our left and we will find the...

... Cross Gallery, a smaller gallery that connects the West Gallery with the famous and well know East gallery...

This long gallery connects the State apartments, through the Silk Tapestry room and the Picture gallery, and the Grand Staircase with the Grand Ballroom. But just before we enter this great room we will turn left and enter the first door on our Right to discover...

...the Ball supper room. This room was created by Queen Victoria for, as the name indicates, small banquets before the grandiose balls (after Prince Albert death this events were canceled and the room lost his function). Today it is mainly used as a space for temporary exhibitions. Now let’s return into the East gallery to continue our tour. 

Now we welcome you into the...

...Grand ballroom. The largest and most grandiose room in the palace as well as set of grand events.

Presided by two thrones, this majestic room receives foreign leaders in extravagant state banquets as well as HM investitures. It is the face of Buckingham in the world...

On the opposite side of the thrones, a grand pipe organ was built to give music in the grandest occasions. Today the room is getting ready to receive HM Birthday banquet, a special occasion that will be attended by fellow monarchs, family, Nobility and friends (the table is prepared for 84 guests).

Greeting, simmers.

I would like to humbly apologize to all of you if I haven't been as active as in the past, but the whole global situation and the lockdown made me lazy and sadder than usual. Also, my university and extra school commitments have highly increased, so I didn't have time to post new stories.

During my spare time, I decided to take a break from my game and started to create new buildings for my story. I’m generally not so good with architecture (although I’m studying architecture and design at the university), so I usually search on the internet for constructions created by other users (like the majority of the buildings you see in my previous posts. Only Westforth Palace was build by me, following the @thesimquisition ‘s Buckingham Palace plant, thank you so much!). However, I was looking for a Parliament and I realized that there are no users who have done this type of structure, so I made it. This is actually a WIP, I hope I can finish it as soon as possible. This is a kind of fusion of English parliament and Italian’s one.

I just realized that I gained 107 subscribers during the first month. It’s a small goal, but I want to thank you so much! I decided to give it as a gift for you, If you want. I considered to share my game poses, but my folder is a total mess. As soon as I have time to adjust some poses, I will also pass those.

I can definitely say that I’m good at procrastinating, hence, I was able to spend so much time on The Sims 4 and made enough progress on my WIPs. (Work has been really demanding as of the moment and I’m trying to escape those.) Here, I present my pièce de résistance - Château de Versailles.

Due to the limitations in the game, I focused on the Aile Centrale. This blog has been a heaven-sent for me; it has rooms of almost all the rooms.

As you can see from the photos above, the Galerie des glaces or ‘Hall of Mirrors’ still look magnificent despite the size of it in the game. I can’t thank @felixandresims and @thejim07 enough for their efforts in creating the CCs. (Also, there were other CCs I got online. Please do tag yourself if you see your works.)

Does this room look familiar? It’s the Salon de Mars!

Well, here is my version of the enfilades of the post I reblogged weeks ago.

Now, on to the other rooms: Marie Antoinette’s bedchamber and the King’s Bedchamber.

I also made adjustments in the other rooms for playability purposes.

The room above was supposed to be the Antichambre à l'oeuil de boeuf (the room before you enter the King’s Bedchamber) but it was just hard to recreate.

For the first photo with the dark columns, that is the marble vestibule before the Galerie Basse (the hall below the Hall of Mirrors).

Finally, here are some exterior shots:

I built this on the Hound’s Head lot in Brindleton Bay, hence you can see the beach and the sea gulls. Most of my other 64x64 lots are occupied by my *other unfinished palaces.

Now, my target is to complete the others but first, I need to find some royalty CCs for my Sims to actually live in these palaces. They just look like tourists in museums without the regalia. I might start posting Sim Stories soon.

The White Drawing Room in Buckingham Palace

To kick start the New Year (and decade) I decided to take a look at my old WIPs. I was so inspired by @thesimpireblr‘s work that I was so motivated to give my old WIPs another try. Here you have my personal recreation of the White Drawing Room found in Buckingham Palace - one of the grandest rooms there is. Guests are often presented here to The Queen. I just love how the CCs make it look beautiful. The ceiling is a bit hard to make, I still have to make adjustments to the lozanges. The pilasters are personal recolors of @felixandresims work and so are the trims. Now, all I lack are the golden curtain accents, accents above the doors (plus the fake door wall decor), and the door frames.

S01E04 - Auld Lang Syne

Hello, everyone! I have a new episode of the Crown of The Sims, yay! For the fourth episode, I tried to do a mini-machinima and, yes, it was quite challenging. This would be my first and it may not be as refined and perfect, but it works. I hope to get better at it someday. Let me know what you think and I'd also love to hear your suggestions.

I also featured the newly renovated State Rooms (minus the Picture Gallery and Music Room) in this video. I'm quite proud of the results of the Blue Drawing Room and the White Drawing Room.

Buckingham Palace (London, United Kingdom)

I can’t stress enough how many years (Yes, years. I still have my WIP for The Sims 3.) I have dedicated in recreating this. I think this is my 5th reiteration in The Sims 4. I just can’t seem to get it as close to the real thing. Good thing there are CC creators out there that help us realize these dreams. The exterior alone took me days to complete.

As for the rooms, well, I’m still working on them. I want to give justice to this magnificent build.

Catherine Palace (Tsarkoye Selo, Russia)

This one! I was inspired to do Russian palaces after binging on documentaries regarding the last Russian Tsar. One thing I loved about the design of this palace is the way how the rooms are aligned to make an illusion of one big hall (enfilade). Such a shame this was burned down in the last word war.

I’d like to share my WIPs (indefinite). I’ve been so obsessed with European palaces that I tried recreating them in The Sims 4. They turned out quite well but the CCs definitely brought them to life.

Given the limitations in the game, I tried scaling most of the structures (It sure was a challenge given that I have slight OCD in actually following the floor plans of the palaces.) So, here they are:

I really enjoyed making the interior of this one. I had to look for reference photos online just to please the perfectionist in me (Boy, did I spent hours-days just for that.)

Hey, everyone! I need a little help. Do you know where I can find good CCs for: QEII hairdo, crowns/tiaras, sashes, gowns/dresses, suits and the like? Seems like my Sims aren’t regal enough to actually “live” in my palace recreations 😅
