It's time to get nostalgic.

With this update of my Sims (2000) world, you can revisit every lot and every household from the Sims 1 in an open world experience in the Sims 3! This addition adds the Magic Town and Vacation Island area's, making this a complete Sims 1 world, that includes every Sims 1 neighborhood.

I apologize for the long delay in releases this update for this Sims 3 world. My real life has gotten very hectic, so it's been hard to make time for this project. I hope it was worth the wait and that you'll enjoy reliving the Sims 1 in this Sims 3 world.

This world was made with every Sims 3 expansion pack (except for Into The Future), in addition the the High End Loft and Town Life stuff packs. You can install the world even if you do not own all of these packs. But the save file (which includes all of the premade sims, ghosts and some fixes) can only be played if you have all of these packs installed.

To everyone who has installed and played the previous version of my Sims (2000) world: to install this version, you'll need to uninstall the old one. If you have an active save file with the previous (1st) version of this world, please backup any households and builds you want to save to your library. Because that save file will probably become unplayable after installing the updated world file.

I have one little request… If you know any other long time simmers, please share this project with them. I would love it if as many people as possible get a chance to enjoy this nostalgic experience <3

Also, if you enjoy setting up high quality screenshots, I'd love to see them and use them to promote this world.

London "Mesa" Dining Design and Empress Dining Room Chair Recreated from The Sims

Some of my favorite tables from the franchise are the large 3x2 tables from The Sims 1, and I would love to have them in the later games. For now, here it is for The Sims 2 only (I haven't worked out how to do 3x2 tables for The Sims 3 or The Sims 4, though smaller versions are available). This is cloned from my 3x2 Yamato Dining Table conversion. The Empress chair is available for all 3 main games. Prices and motives are the same as in the original game. Info below the cut. Tag 9 People You Want to Know Better

Very kind of you @missy-hissy ! I think it's one of my first times in a tag like this. As someone who has never been to a 15th birthday party before, I feel lucky to be able to participate in this xD

Last Song: Not definitely the last song I listened to, but I've been frequently listening to Beyoncé's new album. It has a great beat, and I broke my record by running 5 kilometers in 23 minutes while listening to it. It's my go-to workout song from now on.  Apart from that, the soundtrack of The Sims 1 and 2 is constantly on my daily playlist.

Last Show:  I haven't finished watching it yet, but I'm definitely a fan of Marie Forleo. She has a fascinating program on YouTube, and she herself is a fascinating woman, with captivating guests. The last show I watched was this one with Seth Godin

Currently Watching: Young Sheldon. We finished watching all six seasons yesterday, my girlfriend and I. I laughed a lot, and I loved that the sixth season gave more prominence to the other members of Sheldon's family. They are as fascinating as Sheldon himself, and I can see a bit of myself in each of them. Even in Sheldon himself. Haha ( I love his grandma too! That woman is the part of me that would break any rule simply because she can and because she wants to.)

Currently Reading: The last book I read (although it's been a while since I read) was this incredible book by Marie Forleo: Everything is Figureoutable. However, a book that changed my life and the way I perceive God/Religion and connected me to real-life experiences was "Conversations with God." These authors not only inspire me daily, but here's a little-known fact: I'm also a writer, and it was through this connection that I published my book “Tomando um chá com o universo / Having Tea with the Universe - The path from non-religion to living the life of your dreams and finding happiness" In it, I share the process I underwent to rid myself of "information overload" and find a path where I no longer let myself be guided solely by the pursuit of purpose, but instead embrace the fascinating art of being alive and present each day. In other words, finding meaning and joy in all things, rather than being consumed by the constant search for "purpose," which is often more of an ideal than a reality.

A book that I recommend to all artists who are reading this: "The War of Art." Once you read this book, your creative process will never be the same. If you can't find it, any other book by Steven Pressfield should be on your reading list as soon as possible! It offers valuable insights and strategies to overcome creative blocks and resistance.

Current Obsession:  My current obsession has been finding ways to make The Sims 3 even more fascinating! I've been doing this for the past three years, mostly through visual enhancements. However, this year I started delving into tuning mods and XML, and it's fascinating how many behaviors and mechanics can be improved just by tweaking a few lines! I'm definitely enabling a series of autonomous behaviors and seeking ways to make them smarter and more methodical. My ideal for The Sims 3 is not to have full control over everything but rather to be an observer who influences certain moments in my Sims' lives. To achieve that, I need to ensure that they can do EVERYTHING possible on their own to explore their lives to the fullest. I want to guarantee surprises and unpredictability, with my presence there only to support and occasionally influence them. Apart from that, I'm also fascinated by Life By You and how I can migrate all these enhancements to it when it's released.

This is just me thinking out loud but seeing a post by @thesims1master made me think of something... In this shot from the TS2 trailer, all of these objects are direct renders of objects from TS1. The couch and chairs are from Unleashed I believe, and the tables are basegame. If I remember correctly, all of the objects for TS1 were modelled in 3D and then were made into isometric sprites.

I wonder if those 3D renders still exist? On a similar note, has anyone thought about using a program to AI upscale the sprites from TS1 to a higher quality? I don't know how much good it would do but it might be worth it.

Now telling the truth, most of the time I'm listening to the Sims soundtrack from 1 to 3, because it helps me focus and stay concentrated. I usually listen to these other songs when I'm out and about or when I'm taking a break from work and need to move around and dust myself off (when I'm a little sad at home)

By the way, not being inspired is part of inspiration. And nowadays instead of fighting it, I just sit, feel, let that feeling flow and then move on. When I see that I woke up on a day that things aren't going to move forward, I accept it, because I know that the next day I can advance the equivalent of 2 or 3 days.

@thesims1master was asking me about plumbbob's earlier today, and it got me wondering about TSM's plumbbob. I quite fancy that and started poking in the files after I searched to see if anyone had done it. I saw an attempt but nothing finished by anyone. They work differently in each game. But it is entirely possible to switch out the model with something else. It will just have the Plumbbob shader, as it doesn't have any image files. Gonna do some jiggery pokey stuff and see if I can get a Phong group added to give the metal texture to that part of the mesh. But I'm going to have to put it on the back burner as I have some other things (like a lot of fun items) to do.

Hi, Sam! Big fan of your channel. I love the true to maxis match condos you did recently, but I was left wondering where you got Helen's flip hair (I think that's what it's called). I did some digging and I thought I found it on a tumblr blog called TheSims1Master, but the mesh doesn't line up well with the flip hair mesh and when I loaded my game it looked distorted and unusable. Please please please can you tell me where you found it? Thank you forever!

Hey there! So the hair Helen has is called "Hair 005 by Sue from XMS-Sims" and I tried to figure out where the heck I downloaded this hair, and did not find it. However back when I downloaded it I realized it had not been properly binned so I did it myself as well as packaged the colors + mesh together to make one clean file - sooo I figured I'd share that fixed up version for direct download! Also note, it is an older style cc hair that does look kinda funky if you are used to modern high poly mesh & textures. I personally love the weirdness of it but some might not!
