Oh but also think about how or why he would even be given that task considering how he was in a famine.

Horror being used to not eating food so he forgets, so he’s given the task to make food for EVERYONE because it will literally force him to get into the habit of paying more attention to eating food. Three meals a day.

So because of that, if he starves due to forgetting about prepping food then everyone else will, and that will piss everyone off LOL.
