Inspirations for VOID 1680 AM
Earlier this year, I released a new solo TTRPG: VOID 1680 AM. In it, you use a deck of cards, a six-sided die, your music collection and a voice recorder to create your own late-night radio show.
The cards help you dig deep into your collection to reconnect with music you love; they and the die also help you create anonymous Callers and the concerns, hopes and obsessions that drove them to reach out to you, a fellow lone voice in the darkness.
I also included steps for joining the library of Callers for other players to use, and even to submit your full show for broadcast on the "real" VOID 1680 AM. You can see some of those Affiliate broadcasts here. They're genuinely very cool.
You can check out the game here, and I'm proud to say VOID 1680 AM is now a Judges' Spotlight Winner in this year's ENNIES.
Okay, enough table-setting. Let's get into it.
VOID was the culmination of a lifelong obsession with commercial radio; both the technology (which feels retro despite scarcely being over a century old) and the melancholy romance of lonesome voices baring themselves to an audience they'll never know the scope of.
This, to me, is an apt metaphor for the act of making something - anything at all. Speak into the Void, the back cover copy says. You never know who is listening. So it is with putting something you love into the world.
So what inspired VOID? I cite both Anamnesis by Sam Leigh and The Wretched by Chris Bissette in the book itself, two solo RPGs whose tones and methods did much to help me find my own.
But if I'm being truthful, VOID's inspirations mostly reside outside of games. Here are a few things that haunted me profoundly enough to drive me to respond.
The first is Talk Radio, specifically Oliver Stone's adaptation of Eric Bogosian's play. The movie's tagline is "the last neighborhood in America," which to me frames radio's persistent relevance and puts social media - often called a "town square" itself - in proper context as one piece of the many ways people find connection with others, for better or worse.
Contra the VOID DJ, Barry in Talk Radio is very, very aware of how his audience receives him (hint: not well). Barry must be heard, and so must the similarly damaged souls who call in to dump the poison in their brain into his... and everyone who's listening in, besides. It's a host of people who want to connect but don't know how, spiraling in decaying orbit around each other until something awful happens.
VOID 1680 AM was originally much darker before I decided to pull back and let players pick their own tone, and Talk Radio is why.
Oxenfree is a narrative video game about a small group of teens stuck on an island haunted by hungry ghosts who can be tuned in and out of reality with handheld radios. There's more to it than that, but I'll leave you to discover what on your own - because I would recommend this game to just about anyone.
Insofar as VOID 1680 AM can have a "soundtrack," it is this one by scntfc, created using WWII-era radio equipment.
The Vast of Night is a quietly alarming lo-fi/sci-fi set in a small town in New Mexico in the late '50s. A radio DJ and a switchboard operator pick up strange signals, and then... things happen.
This specific radio station (stylized in the poster above) is what I picture for "my" VOID 1680 AM.
Then there's Stevie in The Fog, played by Adrienne Barbeau. She's the bridge between VOID 1680 AM and my earlier solo game, Lighthouse at the End of the World.
She is, yes: a late night DJ. And her radio station is, yes: in a lighthouse. She's living my dream, at least until the ghost pirates show up.
Spoilers, I guess?
But the most important influence? VOID 1680 AM cover artist Jordan Witt's fan art for the podcast King Falls AM years ago. This image took up residence in my head, so much so that I still use it as phone wallpaper despite never having listened to the show it's for.
When it came time to partner with a cover artist, who that cover artist would be was never in question. Entirely unknowingly, Jordan took all these loose ideas in my head and gave them something to cohere to. A beacon, if you will.
They spoke something into the Void, and I listened.
Fun fact: Jordan even jazzed up the original logo I made for VOID 1680 AM when that title only applied to the AM transmitter in my garage. Here's my original - you can plainly see the influence of Jordan's art on that O. It all really came full circle.
Those are the biggest ingredients in the stew that made VOID 1680 AM. It's fun to talk about stuff I like, but also I hope it might nudge someone - anyone - to get going on something they're after.
(That's you. I'm talking about you.)
A project finding its voice is a wonderful thing, but there's no real miracle to it, no outside influence that will tell you what to do. It's just things in your head magnetizing to each other until they got a shape that - with coaxing - can stand on its own.
See you on the dial.

oh yeah this was supposed to be an art blog. so, with @sparkbirdmusic returning to tumblr it feels only appropriate to put this here- my entry for the art contest surrounding their upcoming single mayday!, which i have only heard in bits and pieces and have already been blown away by
there is like, a very esoteric and poetic inspiration for this drawing beyond just the song itself, but if i’m being honest with myself the explanation of that would just be incomprehensible rambling, so i’m gonna put it under the cut so y’all can just appreciate the art and witness my nonsense at your own discretion
those who know me will be no doubt familiar with my fascination with symbolic language and imagery in art, especially my tendency toward the more macabre instances of it. i cannot help but find myself represented in expressions of the horror of the flesh, of having a human body, a body that cannot be saved from its own mortality. i spend what some would call an unsettling or unhealthy amount of time preoccupied with the ideas of suffering and death, and those concepts are, as a result, very present in my art.
for this piece in particular, i found myself very interested in the concept of martyrdom. lyrically, “mayday!” evokes the image of perhaps a pirate, a spy, a rogue, some adventurer going out in a blaze of glory, making a legend of their own demise:
the captain lives by the sword
and the captain loves by the sword
when the captain dies by the sword
he’ll leave you trapped in the cockpit
crying out “mayday!”
the instrumentation only serves to solidify this, with bold, sweeping orchestration and thunderous percussion building the tension of each and every line until the last gasp of the chorus. (i wax poetic about sparkbird’s music often. be grateful i haven’t yet made a habit of it on this blog.)
while i’m drawing, i often have a youtube video playing as background noise, and for much of the process of this piece, i was absently listening to a video essay by final girl studios (who i highly recommend looking into, if you’re unfamiliar) entitled “beautiful dead girls: the romanticized death of the teenage girl”. in it, she describes a platonic ideal of femininity, an archetype that we see in no small number of stories about young women: a white, frail, suffering girl, often no older than 25, whose despair is commodified for the sake of art until we no longer recognize her as human, instead choosing to interpret her as some vague “other”, alienated from all personification so that we feel no guilt or grief when she dies, because how else could her story have ended?
one such tale mentioned in the video that particularly struck a chord with me was ophelia of shakespeare’s hamlet. ophelia in particular is an especially damning example of this, because when you read her name just now, was it not her death in your mind’s eye? the picture millais paints, both literally and figuratively, is a very pretty one, but it serves only to emphasize that she is gone. in love, then heartbroken, then mad, then gone.
the tragedy of the martyr, i think, is not simply that they are dead- it is that that is all they are, and all that they must be. the sympathy, the admiration, the idolization, these are all afforded in death and death alone. why do we make legends of the ones who are lost, if only to forget the ones they leave behind who are still lucky enough to be breathing?
the sword in this painting is a gravestone, left behind in the water like ophelia. the captain is dead, but there is no glory in his demise. all that remains of him is his sword, his memory, and the despair and destruction in his wake- “trapped in the cockpit, crying out mayday!”
of course, this connection is likely just a coincidence between the drawing, the song, and the video. but it did create one of my favorite drawings i’ve made in a long time, so i suppose it can’t be all nonsense.

if you wanna indulge me, id love to hear your opinions on sing (all of mine are detractory which i know isnt the complete view of the song)
omg id love too!! sorry this took me a sec to formulate post-work haha. i know we don't agree about sing but honestly that's the beauty of music opinions- I feel like it becomes easier to define what I like about things when faced with legit measured criticism anyway
for me, i want to start with the structure and instrumental since it's usually not mentioned (most of the criticisms of sing are exclusively lyrical or intention-focused). it's so cool. and evocative. and full of tension!! my favorite use of synth on danger days, plus the keys and the drums (man i love the dd studio musician drums lmao), really emphasizes sing as a suspended moment both in the album (necessary bridge, tonally, between bulletproof and planetary imo) and in the track itself- its alllll building up to that bridge and final chorus. but there's all these little pieces- the backing vocals, there's so many hidden guitar parts that riff just under all the noise, that opening like, tambourine. sorry for not having a quote on hand but Ray's said he really loved writing sing and it's so totally obvious to me. especially live- part of the reason I was soooooo excited for sing swarm tour edition is that even during dd ray was like absolutely shredding for sing after the bridge. and everytime time it's so good. part of the reason the lyrics don't bother me is sing could stand alone instrumentally and I'd still want to listen to it. (sing also reminds me of Ray's solo music- the sentiment is more significant that the lyrics and the music is itself a vehicle for storytelling)
also though, i think there's a lot of intention with sing (it's up to the listener to determine if that paid off obv) but within the context of dd the record as a pirate radio station, sing has always read as a trojan horse song. making it a single too, like once a song takes on a life of its own outside the record there's new meaning and circumstance. so both within and outside the killjoy universe sing is a vehicle for not just the bridge but the overall sentiment of dd (how fucking excited was gerard when glenn beck took the glee bait) like, yes, i do agree they could've benefited from another pass over the lyrics (i will always defend keeping "sing it till your nuts" bc its sounds like sing it to your nuts though) but I don't personally get the criticism that sing isn't "specific enough" about what exactly it's against or is too optimistic about "sing it for the world"-- i think there are songs on the album (notably planetary right after it!) which do that job just fine. dd is gerard in arguably top lyrical form so theres a lot of meat in the rest of the record like. sing it for the world is a purposely simplistic art is the weapon. like those are the same sentiments rendered very differently!
also like. i do think there was a very directed target at the younger part of their fan base here (girl/boy) which is sweet. to me. like i did hear sing first when i was a young teen (one of the few dd songs i was familiar with) and it did feel huge and empowering at that moment. my chem are their best when they are navigating the dualities of their specific fame, which includes simultaneously making very serious, adult rock music which is concerned with violence death grief and sex, as well as being a role model for younger people and taking them seriously and neither of these are in rhetorical conflict with each other. so like whatever sing is a little juvenile. but it's still filled with passion! taken as a legitimate project with a creative instrumental and a narratively-driven music video. I like that aspect, it works for me. I'll never call it my favorite my chem song but its certainly not the worst when you add in the bridge (i wanted to prove my point without the bridge but like. damn!! it's a good bridge!!!). that's my spiel.
#god this is long but thank you for the ask it made me think :)#like at the end of the day a great instrumental with subpar lyrics is going to beat out#a song with incredible lyrics and a bothersome instrumental bc that effects tone and meaning and listenability and impact#so i think sing is v easy for me to appreciate#my posts#angstics#igottheanswer

FAQs about participating in Beauty and the Beast Week 2024
Beauty and the Beast Week 2024 is starting soon! Here are answers to some questions I’ve gotten or that you may be wondering about before participating in the event:
Can I join?
Yes! This is an open event with no sign-ups. You don’t need to notify me or get my permission. Everyone is welcome.
Do I have to do something for every one of the prompts?
No! Just one is fine. You can do more if you wish, or multiple works for the same prompt, but none of this is necessary. The list of prompts is here.
Do I have to write about the specific plants in the prompts?
No! They are meant to be metaphorical and spark inspiration. Go with the vibe that the plant suggests to you. Some suggestions are shown on the prompt list, but you can interpret each plant however you wish. And if you do wish to depict one of the literal plants in your work, that’s fine too!
What should I do if my work doesn’t fit with any of the prompts?
That’s what day 7, the free day, is for! Anything goes, that day (provided you still follow the rules, of course!).
Do I have to create my art/fic/whatever on the day itself?
No! That would be super hard to do—I’m not that mean! Create it now, and just hold off on posting it until the day of the prompt you used.
Does my fic/art need to take place in the Disney BatB universe, or are AUs allowed?
As long as you have at least one Disney Beauty and the Beast character, you can stick them in whatever universe you wish. Make Belle a mermaid in a pirate AU, make Gaston an astronaut in a space AU, give Cogsworth and Lumiere a meet-cute at a coffee shop, or just keep everyone in the canon-compliant universe of the film. Anything goes!
Can I include non-BatB characters in my creations?
Sure! As long as you have at least one Disney Beauty and the Beast character, you can include whatever other characters you wish. Characters from other media, OCs, reader inserts, they’re all fine. And remember that there is no bashing of others’ characters or ships! Accounts that do so will get blocked. Review the full list of rules here.
Can I make [fill in the blank]?
Yep. Any type of fanwork you can dream up is welcome, not just fic and art. Crochet a Beast hat and post a pic of it, make a photo montage of yourself doing cosplay, make a music video, we love it all!
Is NSFW allowed?
Yes, with any sort of content and kink you like, but since there may be minors following this account, please tag it appropriately. If posting mature content directly on Tumblr rather than AO3, also use its community labels function and/or hide the content under a “keep reading” link. And minors—do not engage with content that is not meant for you.
Is AI allowed?
Absolutely not. This account will not reblog, include in master lists, or include in the AO3 collection anything that was made with AI involved to any degree. Even if you just use AI to make a banner to go along with your fic that you manually wrote, we will not reblog it. Review the full list of rules here.
How do I post my work so it gets included?
The most important thing to be sure to do is to tag the @beauty-beast-week account in your Tumblr post so we can see it and reblog it from this account. Also, please use the hashtag #batbweek and/or #batbweek 2024. Full posting instructions are here.
Should I post my fic on AO3 or Tumblr?
Whatever you prefer. If you post it on AO3 and also make a Tumblr post to link to it, we will reblog the Tumblr post. If you only post to the AO3 collection, we will have nothing to reblog, but we will still link to your work in the master lists.
I don’t post my art on Tumblr; can I still participate?
Yes, but you’ll need to send us a DM via Tumblr with a link to your work on Instagram, Twitter, DeviantArt, etc. We will then include it in the master lists.
I’m not going to get my work done on time; can I still participate?
Please do! We’re happy to accept late entries! We understand that life happens, so just tag us when you’ve posted it and we’ll reblog it, though it may not make it into the master list post at the end of the event.
How can I connect with the other people participating in this event?
Building personal connections between those in our fandom community is the main reason @firawren created this event, so while there’s no Discord server specifically for this event, there is the “Frozen Hearts Worth Melting” Discord server. It’s a super chill server for Beauty and the Beast and Frozen fanfic writers and artists; DM @loonysama if you want to join this server. Also, feel free to DM @firawren if you’d like to connect one on one; I’m always hungry for more BatB friends!
Did I miss any questions that you still have? If so, please reply to this post, send me an ask, or send me a DM.

💭 THOUGHT BALLOON
🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER
🩹 ADHESIVE BANDAGE
💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL
In response to this meme!
💭 THOUGHT BALLOON — what is your oc's MBTI, enneagram, and/or other personality aspects (if known/interested in)?
They are ENFP, also known as the "Campaigner" personality. Very enthusiastic, creative, and extroverted. However, answering some questions on these tests are difficult because Djahima is a very capricious person and will say or do things that contradict each other. For instance, one question asked if they would enjoy talking about ethical dilemmas with others. Thing is, they technically would—so long as everyone is of the same mind. If you start talking and Djahima doesn't agree with you, they will either ignore you and busy themself with doing something else, or they'll just leave.
They're whimsical, intense, relentless, and absolutely uncompromising. It's their way or the highway. And yeah, it does go straight to Hell. Also the "Campaigner" title is pretty funny considering they terrorize politicians and their rich corporate buddies on a semi-regular basis.
🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?
Ooh, this is a good one! Well, this motherfucker has been around for a long time, so they'd have a lot of hobbies. But their #1 hobby would be going for walks in the wilderness. When they say that they're "going for a walk", what they really mean is "I'm going to hike off-trail to some unforeseen destination through inclement weather and will be gone somewhere between a month to 2 years." I guess when you live for a long ass time, you master the art of hitting the bricks. They also just enjoy a lot of athetic/sporty stuff too, like mountain biking, surfing, skateboarding, all that jazz.
Their other hobby is music. Jimi Hendrix, Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cooke are some of their favorites—though I think they unironically like Britney Spears, too. More specifically though, they like to sing and play instruments. They know how to play the drums (they prefer a fundeh to a drum set) acoustic/electric guitar, piano, and harp. They may have dabbled in a few more, but those are the main ones they've bothered to keep up with, especially guitar. Djahima can also sing, but they prefer just playing instruments. I imagine their singing voice sounds something like this.
And then their third favorite hobby is being an eco-terrorist and agent of anarchy and rebellion.
🩹 ADHESIVE BANDAGE — does your oc have any physical and/or mental disabilities?
Oof, yeah. They definitely have a lot of issues mentally, but I purposely avoid labeling whatever disorders they have so as to not accidentally perpetuate any stereotypes. "Psycho" pretty much sums it up.
As for physical disabilities, they have osteoarthritis mostly in their back. It can get pretty unbearable, so they do use a cane on occasion. The reason why they have this disability while somehow remaining the same physically for centuries is because their body only maintains a state of stasis after they "died" when they were in their late 40's. So anything they had wrong with them then, they'll have wrong with them basically forever. They're also missing a few teeth, but they've gotten implants. They had gold teeth back in their pirating days.
💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.
They like to paint, mostly with watercolors. They specialize in landscapes and portraits. When drawing, they typically sketch diagrams of flora and fauna for their own personal field guide.
They have followed many different religions in the past: Islam, Rastafarianism, Buddhism, Obeah, Hinduism, etc. Eventually they lost faith in all things relating to gods and divinity, believing that the only "God" there ever was and ever will be is nature itself, as nature encompasses everything in existence.
Their fashion style can be described as anything between afropunk to urban gentleman, and everything in between.
#⇴ ᴋɪʟʟɪɴɢ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴏᴠᴇʀ & ᴏᴠᴇʀ ;; memes#oc ask game#thank you so much for this ask!#i really enjoyed answering these

Ateez storyline
This is how I visualise the Ateez storyline using the MVs in a map-like drawing I created in order to hopefully help 🙃
Big disclaimer! Everything I’m typing here is theory or interpretation, but I am using the Diary entries from the Fever and The World albums as guide for the Ateez storyline. Everything else is pure theory/ speculation on my part.
I also feel the need to thank the team behing atiny.net for providing the diary entries online for everyone to access. And for the team @hala_loretiny on Twitter for providing a very detailed Masterdoc on Ateez lore.
With that being said, even tho I’ve read the Masterdoc a few times, there are things I don't really agree with. So I re-read the diary entries as if I have never seen a single Ateez theory before and came up with my own timeline.
So here we go:
As seen in the guide above, we have 2 main storylines:
The Ateez storyline: the music videos where only Ateez make an appearance.
The Pirates storyline: the music videos where only the og Black Pirates appear (Disclaimer! This part is pure speculation/theory on my part).
There are also two secondary storylines:
The Ateez & Pirates: the music videos where both groups are present.
The Witness p.o.v: Halazia music video that encapsulates a very important part of the story (I will ellaborate when I get to it).
The Diary film
In this short film, we are introduced to each member’s story before forming the friendgroup known as Ateez. There were a few missunderstandings between them that made the friendship fall appart, but after Hongjoong has been visited in his dream by the man in the black fedora (The Black Pirate) and is given the Cromer and the information that another world exists, the 8 friends get back together and the journey begins.
Inception
My interpretation of this MV is that Ateez are trying to understand how the Cromer works by trying to “fall asleep”.
The first one who is succesfull is Hongjoong at the end of the MV, when he is running towards himself sleeping and “falls into his sleep”.
After “falling asleep”, he ends up in a void-like room that can be also seen in Thanxx MV, but I will show it once we get to that part.
Thanxx
This is for the most part a rebellious song about teenagers not wanting their lives to be dictated by adults and that they will choose their own path (wich in their case is to go to this new dimension)
The part that stood out to me the most in the MV was when the sky turned from crear blue, to dark grey clouds:
And then, we see the 8 members in the same dark void-like room (that we also saw in Inception MV), along with a few other elements like cars, a dancing crew, a stage, big baloon animals (i am just as lost as you) and the most important part, the pirate ship (that will help them get from their world to New World).
Inception (left)
Thanxx (right)
The pirate ship:
Celebrate
The music video does give me the vibe that they are singing while on the ship to their destination, and it is a bit ironic how the song is about celebrating individuality, and the next thing you know, they end up in Strictland, a place where self expression thru music and art is forbidden.
As for the visuals of the MV itself, there is a clear shift in color that indicates when they genuinely arrived in Strictlang. Also they are wearing the same clothes that they wear in the Fireworks (I’m the one) MV wich is the very next song on the list.
The shift in color in the Celebrate MV:
The color and clothes similarity between Celebrate MV and Fireworks (I’m the one) MV:
Fireworks (I’m the one)
In terms of lore written in the diary entries, a lot happen so I suggest you read them, or listem to the audio version on Youtube 💕
But for the MV itself, not alot happens other than them arriving in what it’s assumed to be the Strictland garbage dump and The Black Pirates hideout, but no sign of the 8 pirates. This is where (in the books) we are introduced to a character known as Left Eye, the director of the Strictland dump, and the number 1 helper of The Black Pirates.
Strictland garbage dump (left)
The hideout of The Black Pirates (right)
This is the moment Ateez find out (in the books) that The Black Pirates are actually in prison, so Ateez need to go help them. They also learn that the prison (also known as the Android bunker) is on an island so they start saililng towards the island.
*More details are mentioned in the Fever ep. 3 diary entry at Mingi’s paragraph*
After arrival, they discover that the island it is an ex vacation resort, but due to the state the world is right now in New World, taking rest and vacations became meaningless.
*more in part 2*

BOUNCY MV First Reactions
COWBOY COMEBACK!
Thank you KQ for releasing this in the middle of my work day... :/
I have to say, I love that they used a different aspect ratio for the MV - it’s another example of ATEEZ’s unique use of the screen itself (another one being when the robot arms come out of the video in WONDERLAND).
I’m in love with the MV. For starters, Gothic pirate cowboys. And then we have blue-hair Hongjoong making a return. And then we have the funky vibes of the song itself. And, of course, epic ATEEZ choreo. And then there’s the use of film grain, and the increased budget they have, and how they integrate elements from previous MVs (like they always do), and in general, each comeback reminds me of why I ult ATEEZ. This is the kind of stuff I’m into.
And I hope you’re into it too, if you’re on this blog.
Oh by the way? You know how ATEEZ were talking about bringing anarchy onto the world in HALAZIA and Guerrilla? Well, now they’ve literally brought anarchy onto the world through one of the world’s (hah) best-known representations of anarchy - the American Wild West. Whoever made this choice is a genius because it’s amazing shorthand for the anarchy and passion they’ve actually created, and brings an expressive world for them to put their music out into.
Also - fire. Ahem, the fire Hongjoong destroys things with? Don’t forget that Don’t Stop was one of our first teasers of THE WORLD.
Now, I will say that I don’t condone (and hopefully ATEEZ don’t either) the dangerous and/or illegal activities in this MV (no-rules boxing, driving motorbikes without a helmet, murder, owning illegal weapons, drug dealing). That said, they did make me laugh a lot in this MV. Idols are supposed to have a perfect image and ATEEZ are happily breaking the law everyday. And I found some specific moments oddly quirky and funny which I will dsicuss later.
But let’s talk about the MV. Full discussion below the line.
Lyrics
Well, they’re what I’d expect from a cowboy ATEEZ comeback. They have the common motifs of bouncing/dancing, playing music, being the coolest, and so on. They also include the mandatory ATEEZ references to burning up, exploding, and so on. And they include the mandatory THE WORLD references to raising your microphone and making your own voice and music in the face of... well, a world that prohibits those things.
But that’s, as I said, to be expected of ATEEZ. Let’s talk about the actual MV.
MV Analysis
So it starts the same way the opening sequence did, but in snapshots - since they know that we’ve already seen it. I do think it’s interesting that they cut out the Wanted posters, since they have been a pretty integral motif for the past few years.
I’d just like to say that this is the perfect shot to open this MV on. It’s got the warm colours, gritty tone, and fire that are important to this era (THE WORLD), and seen in ATEEZ mvs in general (FEVER). It’s got the fire - another important motif, it establishes the setting which I’ve already mentioned is a representation of anarchy, and thus establishes the tone of the song and comeback. But it also has an interesting camera angle - one which places the audience in a position inferior to ATEEZ, but ATEEZ inferior to the remnants of the government/other institution that has power in this world.
It’s also a very pretty set, which is always a bonus.
This is a great followup shot since it again shows how powerful Mingi is - although we don’t know it’s Mingi yet. It also shows that this world isn’t quite as gritty and old-fashioned as we thought - there are electric lights and the floor is actually relatively clean.
Nice context for the actual face reveal, and, since it plays into Western tropes, it gives us a hint of what will come - a face reveal, dramatics, and a shootout.
I am a massive fan of black wing eyeliner Mingi.
Crazy Hongjoong is back.
Ahh yes goats - the symbol of the Wild West.
Not entirely sure what the red lines are supposed to mean here - other than ATEEZ and lights being big, and red and HALATEEZ.
Ahh yes, best set is the drug-dealing den disguised as a reputable establishment. This also further shows that the Wild West setting of the story doesn’t apply to everything - for instance, it is quite different (yet also surprisingly similar) to this underworld cyberpunk city.
SAAAAAAAAN. And here is our third setting - the boxing arena. All of these settings have the motif of anarchy and conflict, but the Wild West, grungy neon city, and boxing arena do so in different ways - guns, crime, and punches.
I love the grainy effect here - another visual symbol of ‘the old days’which are seen as being more like anarchy, and, in lots of cases, like a better time.
I also love how this MV practically made Woosan canon.
This is definitely the heist Wooyoung from Don’t Stop.
CG motorbiking ATEEZ do not condone riding your motorbike without helmets. Protect your brain - it’s important.
Turbulence tunnel?
Love how he’s doing nothing and is far back but is still subtly checking on San.
Dude wants his money and a husband.
Very convincing police disguises...
This shot is great because it is way easier to notice the steampunk aspect of the bar and the world.
JOOOOOOOONG AND HIS SHIPPPPPP.
Mandatory pirate reference.
10/10 choreo - groovy and slightly threatening, but also relates to the story since they cut the chillis in half to reveal the bullets they’re hiding. I f eel like it wouldn’t be a very good way to store bullets but good on them - whatever works to take down the 1984 government.
A fascinating shot and scene - the ornate architecture paints them as gods of some description, while the red is of course, scary, and the glass it’s encliosed in reminds us of the cube in Say My Name. The chandelier is also a motif in their MVs.
There’s also the contrast of blue and red, and of the grunge of the motorbikes and ornate room around them.
I hope they have a bigger chilli farm than just this one box, because this one ain’t gonna produce a lot.
Yes try to kill Mingi - I’m sure it’ll work out for you.
CHILLLLLLLI.
Moral of the story - Mingi’s on drugs. Maybe this whole MV and era - or even all of ATEEZ’s storyline from the start - was just Mingi on drugs.
I love the choreo and cinematography of this scene - it’s another example of ATEEZ’s unique use of the camera and alternating jerky and still camera angles. And, of course, it’s used to tell a story and to create hype.
CG Seonghwa says you should keep your hands on the wheel/handlebars when driving.
Where to KQ get these extras? They’re great!
This is when I started laughing. It was the canon Woosan, how the water just dribbled out of San’s mouth, how dramatic they were being in an MV, and how serious they seemed when I know the director said çut’and someone rushed over to put more blood on San.
Unsubtle storytelling is here.
Clearly the only reason San was losing was because he was boxing, not using his martial arts skills.
I love the freeze frame when he kicks his opponent for emphasis.
Lmao. Literally smoking the money. Wooyoung has great facial expressions.
Great combination of lyrics and video to tell a story and to subvert my expectations of what the lyrics would mean (I was thinking of WONDERLAND’s start of a race).
This was another shot that made me laugh. It was the funky camera angles, the weird dance moves, them all being in a line, and how serious Hongjoong was while doing it all.
My respect for him and his performance grows every day.
I mean the choreo is pretty snazzy, it just shouldn’t be painted in such a serious light, I think.
Literal canon Woosan literally being on top of the boxing world.
ATEEZ the gods of the chilli pepper.
On a more serious note - the shift to white is a bit unusual, but it leads us into the final verse and to the reveal that comes later.
OMG NOW WE KNOW WHY THEY’VE BEEN DRUG DEALING CHILLIS.
haha
Hello High Noon Jhin from League of Legends.
Okay, bruv.
Why would you destroy your chilli crop?
Okay, it’s probably a different scene, but still.
That is one nasty bullet. That won’t do any more damage than a regular bullet unless it explodes on impact.
Please imagine that I gasped so hard that I fell off my chair, my jaw detatched, my soul left my body and I revived and became a god.
My question then is - did this bullet actually kill the Guardian? Was that why it was weird? Is it possible to kill the Guardians?
And by the way this is the ‘white’reveal that I was talking about. Believe it or not - the white earlier probably made it easier for the audience to process this split-second reveal.
I love the transition from fire to fireworks to champagne/water/whatever it is - it helps the audience understand, makes sense in the given scenes, and is HYPE.
Hey Don’t Stop ~
I love how this is like an old Western poster - and also how it includes buildings we are more familiar with from Guerrilla and HALAZIA - which connect it to the previous albums.
According to the subtitles, this says ‘so freaking persistent,’which may or may not be censored.
To which I assume he means the Wanted posters - but which could be the mark on them. Am I unobservant, or have we not seen this mark before? I doubt ATEEZ made it. Did the Guardians make it?
I also find it interesting that Mingi is kind of the main character of this MV. He’s a great choice for it, especially with the Wild West and intimidating theme of the MV, but I wonder if there is also a storyline reason for it.
And that’s it! That’s the end of the MV! It pretty nicely continues the story from the previous releases, and shows how the world has progressed in the period between albums. They picked some super clever imagery to express this, which is all in service of the storyline and communicating the story as easily as possible in such a short time frame. I heard that some people think that it’s sad that ATEEZ are so dedicated to their storyline, since it means that they create less ballads - something that lots of people like. But not only am I not a fan of ballads, I love how dedicated they are to the storyline because it’s so unique to be this dedicated, and because the story itself is their identity and a key part of their success. They’ve showed dedication to artistry and storytelling over popularity, and that’s great. Not that prioritising popularity is bad - just that I admire ATEZ’s dedication.
Conclusions
Woosan is now canon, ATEEZ’s directors, set designers, creative directors and so forth are geniuses, their extras are hilarious, and ATEEZ have amazing performances which I want to see more of. The cowboy theme is amazing here - andI probably love it even more since it reminds me of Face The Sun by SEVENTEEN - another stellar comeback and album.

A Post-Internet World
I was watching The X-Files earlier. Season 1, which aired in 1993. It’s a fun show; and as a 90s boy (me being born in 1992), it took me back to that hazy world, where the music was different, the haircuts different, even the colour of the streets seemingly different.
The characters step into phone booths to make calls. They still have those televisions which are massive black boxes which flash with those black & white dots when not hooked on to a channel. They still read broadsheet newspapers. I’ll admit a nostalgia for the 1990s and TV shows from that pre-Sopranos age.
But it got me thinking about the main thing missing from the daily lives of people back then.
The internet. They don’t use the internet; it’s just not there … Which is surreal when you compare it to 2023, when all of us are constantly wired to the internet.
So it got me thinking about just how much the world wide web has altered the planet, since the era I mentioned above, when I was a child.
1993 is a convenient year, because this is when the first proper web browser was released to the public. Amazon and eBay were invented in 1995, and Google in 1998. Wikipedia was born in 2001. In 1993, 1% of information fed through global telecommunications networks was performed via the internet. In 2023, it is 100%.
What about TV shows? Well – you remember Blockbuster, right? The video store. That’s what you’d do on a Friday night, go and rent a VHS out to watch the X-Files. Well, Blockbuster declined heavily after the explosion of the internet, and closed its last store in Alaska in 2018.
The internet also killed Toys R Us, RadioShack, Virgin Megastores (in terms of high street shops, in the West), the Discovery Channel Store, Borders book shop, Hastings Entertainment, Dixons entertainment, Woolworths, Sears (which was once the world’s largest retailer) and GameStop, to name a few.
Furthermore, there are whole industries which have had to adapt to the WWW. Pre-internet, and up until the new millennium, almost all books were sold in bookstores, as physical copies. Today, 80% of books are sold online. Specific types of books are no longer bought on demand; such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, travel guides or maps – all of which are easier to access online.
Landlines … for your phone in your house. In the 1990s 9 in 10 of households used their landline phone as a main way of communication. Today it’s 9 in 10 with cellphones.
Journalism. From 2005 to 2021, over 2200 American print newspapers closed in the US; and from 2008 to 2020, the number of American newspaper journalists were cut by half. Similarly, in the UK, around 300 newspapers died away between 2009 and 2019.
The music industry. Is an obvious one, and among those most severely struck. Whilst the net made it far easier to pirate music, platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify removed the need for illegal listeners. The industry itself was among the most profitable in the 1990s. Within the last 20 years its revenue has been reduced by 50%, when taking all sources into account. CD sales reached their peak in the year 2000 in America (a figure of around 900 million). Since then sales have dropped 95%.
And, on a grander scale, we can’t ignore how the internet has altered how we socialise. We spend more time on the internet in our daily lives that we do via communicating with other people face to face.
It’s changed the way we read, and the amount that we read. People are far more likely to skim read articles on a screen and not read beyond the initial three or four paragraphs, especially if this requires clicking ‘next page’ to read on. Writers on the internet now write shorter sentences in order to hold reader attention span.
The internet has changed crime. Through cybercrime, as people find it easier to steal money from long distance locations whilst hiding their identities. It is estimated that over $600 billion is lost (or robbed) each year via cyber criminals.
It’s changed the way people date. People who use dating apps are more likely to have sex sooner in a relationship than those who meet in the ‘traditional’ way; and are more likely to date several people at once before choosing a specific individual. Moreover, it has made people less likely to commit, because with internet dating, they have far more options.
Most of this essay has been negative. One can’t deny that the internet has many positive sides to it too. With Healthcare, for instance: as people are able to communicate with their doctors without having to physically attend a GP, thus making it faster. And in terms of education – one can basically look up any information they please at any point. Rather than having to head to a library or school.
I use the internet all the time as well. Am no different. I suppose it just felt odd, watching the X-Files earlier, as it gave me that dose of what it was like in boyhood. There was Twin Peaks, as well, and Friends, you know, all of those classic 90s shows. I used to watch them on one of those gigantic televisions, which only had four channels.
In 1993, around 15 million people used the internet. Nowadays, over 4.66 billion people are online. That’s less than 1% of the world population in 93, to around 60% of the world population now.
I miss the 1990s. It was a great decade for things like television, and film, and music. Culture in general. The irony is that I no longer own a VHS player. And I was using a streaming site to watch the X-Files earlier. I should feel lucky to have experienced that last-decade-before-the-internet. To belong to the millennials generation.
What I do still have is a retro TV (with the black & white scrambly dots), and a Nintendo 64 and Playstation, oh – and a great collection of CDs. And they’re never getting chucked out, ever. Will keep them, always.

hey guys!! i just made a post similiar to this on twitter, but something i’ve been noticing is that a lot of people still think infinity train is completely gone and can’t be accessed in any way but pirating. however!! that is very not true!!
we’ve really got to try and make it more commonplace info that you can in fact still legally acquire infinity train on a bunch of digital stores, including:
vudu itunes google play amazon prime video apple tv+ youtube / youtube tv
outside of the us it’s on:
stan in austraila sky in the uk and it was supposed to be on teletoon+ in canada. (someone will have to verify this one for me, iirc when i saw this it was a future thing, but that was a few months ago)
the dvds for the first two books are still available for purchase on amazon for roughly $10 each (if the price hasn’t changed) if you want a physical copy.
and!! while this isn’t the show itself, the official recordings of the book 1 soundtrack and train to nowhere from book 4 are also available both to stream for free on youtube and spotify, but also for purchase on itunes / apple music and possibly other places i can’t recall.
this show really, really needs to be supported officially in all cases where it’s possible, but rn it seems like the widespread belief is that it can’t be anymore, when that’s just completely not true. fixing that is going to mean talking about where to buy it enough to make it commonplace knowledge that you still can.

Hey.
What is Postal? I find myself increasingly attracted to the Postal Dude and I would like to know.
Uh.
Everything I suppose.
hell yeah!! based! so postal is a video game franchise (and also movie). the games are typically first person or isometric shooters (although in some of the games you are presented with the option not to kill anyone).
the games typically revolve around this fuckin ginger (some version of him anyways) and his deal is that he just keeps wnding up in situations where everyone is trying to kill him.
if ur interested in getting into specific games ; postal 2 is the classic, its a banger, everyone likes that one. lil bit cringe and edgy and dated but its a lotta fun. the deal w this game is that you can kinda do whatever the fuck you want (main appeal). like it has tasks that you needa complete to progress the game. but you can do those at whatever pace or order you want and in the meantime just fuck around exploring the map. you can pick up cats in the game :33. you smoke crack to restore health. theres a piss button and a suicide button. lotta bangin dlc
the first game (postal 1), the april fools game (poostall royale), and the third game (postal 3) are all free 2 play. the first two are on steam theyre cute lil isometric shooters. the first one has a lot of appeal with the story going on. between each level theres these little bits of text like journal entries from the dude. i did not read these the first time i played it and thus i thought it was boring. (eheh). poostall royale has a girl version of the dude (huge win for bisexuals everywhere).
postal 3 is generally considered the worst game ever made by redditors and the creators themselves, so you can only play it if you pirate it (which is endorsed by the creators lol). i cant say much about this one my only experience with the game is a russian speedrun of it.
more recent games are postal 4: no regerts, and postal: brain damaged. i have heard mixed reviews of the former, but there is a drag outfit and you can pet animals so those are pretty enticing imo
the latter is GREAT. fucking gorgeous trippy silly game. the dialogue is unbelievably cringe. love this one. 10/10. been trying to 100% it. slowly.
the movie is on tubi its. unrecommendable. but. i have a soft spot for it, it was kinda funny sometimes to me... i hate what it did to zack wards place in my brain. its like. edgy 2003 type shit. Based 9/11 humor. take this as you will (maybe give it a try?)
on tumblr you may find many people referring to a version of the dude who is ripped and dressed in a blue and white striped tank top. this is shtopor he is from some russian version of postal 2 made by a different company. its called postal: corkscrew rules by many, but thats not the most accurate translation afaik. it never got an american release, however it did get a japanese release which was dubbed in english. game itself is utter shit from what i can tell but i have heard good things about the music (banger russian indie metal). i dont think i can mention this game without mentioning that the plot revolves around sexual reassignment surgery shenanigans. idk how to elaborate on this one its a lot. lmfao.
anyways. i focused mostly on the franchise itself rather than Him, i can elaborate on him more if u want. hope this was helpful nonetheless :-)))

Okay, I think I want to start listening to Ateez’s other songs now, but this is going to probably be more slow going than the music videos, especially since I have 5 days of work ahead of me, and I probably won’t listen to much during those days.
But I’ll start this post now and update it as I go, for my thoughts on each song.
(Everything above this was written last weekend, everything below, besides thoughts on songs, was written tonight)
This post only contains my thoughts on their first 2 EPs, and it took me all week, because of the MAMA awards and life. It also contains my thoughts on their new music video/song for Paradigm.
I was going to do more, but it got long, because I never shut up, lmao.
Treasure EP.1: All to Zero
Pirate King - I’m just gonna listen to the songs I’ve already heard again, to get a feel for the song itself and learn who sings what, without the visuals distracting me. I don’t have much new to say about this one, other than that I love that Jongho was like that just, right out the gate. I know a lot of it is skill and hard work, but he’s definitely also very gifted. I will say I also love the background beat (? i don’t know music terms, but i think it’s the beat?), that like...certain sound, I can’t explain it, lol.
Treasure - This isn’t my favorite, but it hasn’t nothing to do with the lyrics or the beat or the singing or any of that. It’s more this style of song, it’s just not my cup of tea. It’s a good song, though, they all sound great. I also really like the chorus.
Twilight - San and then Jongho in the opening part were stunning. Actually, every time they both sing the twilight part. Stunning, especially San.I actually really love this one! I didn’t think it was going to be my cup of tea, again, but then San started singing and then the whole thing just came together for me.
Stay - And they lost me a little bit again, lol. It’s not that they sound bad or anything, they’re great. There’s just something about the lyrics that I don’t love, and it’s hard to explain.
My Way - Okay, I don’t know the exact meaning of the song, I’m just going on what I’m interpreting, but is this a song about them/for the fans kind of song? The lyrics are giving me that, so I’m going with that for this. It’s sweet. Not a song I’ll play on repeat, but good. I especially enjoyed the way Hongjoong raps in the beginning.
Favorite from the EP - Twilight Least Favorite - Stay
Treasure EP. 2: Zero to One
Hala, Hala (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive) - My thoughts haven’t changed too much since I saw the video, honestly. Still a great song, very hype and intense. Also, realizing that I’m in love with Jongho’s vocals. I mean, obviously, that’s a given, and I’ve been super obvious since the beginning, but still.
Say My Name - I’m going to be quite honest, I don’t know how I feel about this one. Not that it’s bad, or anything. Just, I’m finding it hard to pinpoint if I love it or not. That’s okay though, this happened with a lot of Stray Kids songs as well, and I ended up loving some of them a lot more later on. So, it might just need to grow on me.
Desire - This one was interesting. It almost made me dizzy, it’s hard to explain. But I really liked it. It’s clearly meant to be a sexy song, which is something different, but in a good way.
QUICK BREAK. I spent 2 days watching the MAMA awards, and haven’t really been listening to any new songs. But I watched the Paradigm performance video tonight, and I have thoughts
The styling in this was top tier. Great stuff. They all looked so good.
Stand outs for me were Hongjoong, Jongho, and Yunho (!) which is a big deal, because I was struggling to tell him and Yeosang apart (i don’t know why, i’m so sorry). But he was so good in this video! Also, how tall is he exactly? I’m gonna look it up.
6′1″!! goddamn. I’m so used to the short kings in skz, I don’t know what to do with a whole ass 6 feet, lmao.
Anyways, they all did great, loved it!
OKAY. Back to the older songs.
Light - This is another one that I’m unsure of. Not that I dislike it, more like I’m not sure how I feel? There’s something I really enjoy about the vibe I get from it.It makes me think of something very specific, like....a late night date? Like, standing out on the balcony with someone you’re dating and there’s a party inside, but you guys are so wrapped up in each other, you’re just enjoying the evening together in the moonlight. Look, I said it was specific, lmao. It gives me late night date vibes, basically. But I’m just not sure how often I’d listen to on repeat. Still good though.
Promise - I started realizing something about their songs during this one. I’ll put it down below. But as far as this song goes, I love the energy. It’s very exciting, lol. I’m also realizing how much I love Yunho’s voice, he’s becoming another favorite as well. However, ah, I hate doing this. This is another song I probably wouldn’t listen to much. It’s the lyrics with this one, I’m not a big fan of songs with these kinds of themes, it’s hard to explain. I loved the imagery they used, but it’s the theme of the song that I just don’t love.
Favorite - Gonna surprise myself and say Light, actually. I love the late night date vibes.
Least favorite - Promise
I’ll start with my current favorites and positive thoughts!
I am currently really loving Hongjoong, Jongho, and very recently, Yunho, but, as I mentioned a lot with skz in the beginning, I think all the boys are very skilled and talented. I just have personal tastes and this is how mine are skewed, lol.
I’ve only really loved about a third of the songs, but that’s perfectly okay. I’m still early into this. And there’s always a chance that some songs grow on me later on. I didn’t even realize I loved Maniac by Stray Kids the first time I heard it until I realized it was stuck in my head later on, lol.
And now...not negative, but yea. I have a thought.
Okay, let me see if I can explain this well. I want to start by saying this is just my opinion. I love Ateez already, and I’m still very much excited for this journey, I swear.
But there’s something I’m realizing about the songs, and this is just my thoughts on what I’m seeing in the lyrics, and my thoughts are based on my own personal preferences. But they have a lot of songs that are like, to someone? Not necessarily romantic songs, in a sense, but just...there’s a specific vibe some of the songs I’ve heard so far have, and those kinds of songs just are not my personal cup of tea. Mind you, I still think these boys are talented as hell, I’ve already talked about some of my favorites so far, and I’m still early on here, I could end up loving all 8 just as much as I love all 8 Stray Kids members. And much like with skz, there are going to be songs that I just don’t vibe with, even if a lot of other fans do (I don’t love Get Cool or Star Lost, but I’ve seen fans love them, it happens, we all have our favorites)
I’m only saying this, because if anyone is reading these thoughts as I go on, you’re going to notice that I state that I’m not a big fan of songs like this, if they have more in their other EPs/albums. It’s not that I think these songs are bad or awful or the boys sound bad. Just that they give me a certain vibe or they’re a certain style that I am just not a fan of. It’s hard to fully explain what the vibe is, exactly. Sappy? Soft? Not exactly. But yea, just a disclaimer, I guess.
#Ateez#ateez thoughts#i think where they're losing me just a little is the style of some songs#and the lyrics#it's not that they're bad!#at all#i fully understand why people love them#but they just aren't my personal taste is all#and it's not all the songs obviously#but yea#again#only 2 EPs in#there's so much more to come#and as always#i have to clarify one more time#i think these boys are very good at what they do#its just down to personal taste!#okay#its' my weekend now#so i should be able to listen to more over the next couple of days#OH#once again#i apologize for all the skz talk#but also i don't#thanks

suddenly i feel a need to talk about piracy
i basically grew up with piracy, everyone does it but nobody talks about it because it’s not considered a big deal, and if you say you pay for netflix most people will look at you like you’re insane because 1. why pay and 2. why pay for /netflix/
in my family, while we have more disposable right now than like two years ago, we still definitely wouldn’t be able to afford all of the media we consume, like buying all of the music on itunes or paying for whatever service might have whichever movie or tv show my mom wants to watch, or the video games i’m currently into
like video games are fucking expensive in general but especially when you take into account that $50 is a fuckton of money here. i can go on three shopping trips with that money okay, it’s a lot. and there’s a lot of games out there, with varied prices and varied genres and i have no idea whether i’ll like any of them when i start them. in fact i end up dropping the majority of video games and visual novels and otome games i try. can you imagine buying an average of 30 of each of those a year, and then only liking say 5 of each? doesn’t sound like a good way to spend my money, of which i do not have a lot
i can’t even say i should be pickier with the things i try since i’m already so picky i hardly know what to play at any given time. you could say i should get cheaper hobbies then or something but that’s not how hobbies work
you don’t enjoy things because they’re cheap what the fuck. and even apart from that, i did have cheaper hobbies. i had a good few years when i read a lot of books, which are still expensive but cheaper than video games and the ones i wanted i wouldn’t have been able to find here anyway, i was into anime for a good while - which is just plain unavailable here
and even if i were open to paying for everything i want to play/watch/read, i’d still have to get them digitally - probably not possible unless it’s books; or i’d have to import them which includes crazy shipping prices and waiting times and the risk of something happening to the package and also.... physical storage.... space in the house... i do not have this....
honestly i feel bad for indie game developers or independent authors or whoever might get affected negatively by piracy, but usually i don’t think it’s really piracy itself that’s causing the issues. and personally i have never felt guilty about it, and i’ll probably never change my opinion on it - probably a cultural thing
and you know what, even if all the factors i’ve listed weren’t a thing and i had all the disposable income in the world, i’d still pirate unless i had a very good reason not to. since i have this philosophy of ‘why pay when you can just not’ which extends to pretty much everything that i can obtatin easily without paying and without going to jail for not paying. or something like that
#my posts#my rambles#long post#read more#genuinely tho i did not know piracy was a Big Issue#until i got into anime ironically enough#i was mindblown tbh#i didn;t even mention things like stuff going out of stock or abandonware#or a bunch of other factors#like it's so much more complicated than people want to think#but eh whatever

Generally speaking, I wouldn't say that the Lost Media Archive is that reliable. The Lost Media Wiki (hosted independently, not on Fandom.com) is usually considered more trustworthy - not infallible, like all wikis that're open for the public to edit, but from what I've seen it definitely has higher standards than the Archive. (That said, this particular screencap seems to be sticking close to the facts.)
On the film itself: after looking into it a bit, here's what I think. While the "Bunny Maloney Movie" definitely did exist, I believe it was not a brand-new film but a compilation of episodes. If there was any newly-made material at all, I figure it would be limited to short segments meant to better link the existing footage together. (It's not an uncommon practice in animation - among other examples, four episodes of the Donkey Kong Country cartoon were edited into a "feature" for release on VHS.) I'll admit that some of this is speculation on my part, but I do have some evidence to support my reasoning.
The first is that both Méko's earliest pitch bible and MoonScoop's later PowerPoint presentation state the series' total runtime to be 52 episodes running 13 minutes each. The latter also mentions 13 shorts running 1:30 each, referring to the various music videos released online - though only 4 (Bunny's, Candy's, Jean-Francois's, and Charlotte's) have been found & reuploaded thus far. (I'm not sure whether they actually made 13 of them.) Given how consistent this detail is across multiple phases of production, I'm inclined to believe that a nearly hour-long film was never on the cards.
Of course, it's possible that MoonScoop or whoever decided to make one later down the line, which leads me to my next point: I'm not sure a full-on Bunny Maloney film would've gone completely under the radar for this long. This is admittedly less "evidence" and more "absence of evidence," but it stands to reason that something from the movie would've surfaced by now. And yet we have nothing: no clips from the animators posting their work on Vimeo, no secondhand accounts from childhood viewers (hardly an infallible source of information, but still)... most strikingly, it's completely missing from digital storefronts where the series is available in France, like iTunes.
Which leads me to my final, most concrete piece of evidence: the earliest archive of the relevant Time Warner Cable on-demand page that mentions the "Bunny Maloney Movie" also lists what appear to be other compilations for different shows Kabillion distributed. The very first section includes "Bobby's World: Back To School" and "Code Lyoko: Back to School," both of which run for 53 minutes (just 5 minutes shy of the "Bunny Maloney Movie"). Since the section's called "Back to School," they were presumably edited from existing episodes of their respective series to make something """new""" for the occasion.
Much further down, right under the "Still Summer!" heading, there's an inconspicuous listing for something called "Pirates." It runs for 52 minutes and has a simple description:
Come on an adventure with Pirates of Kabillion.
As it turns out, its proper name is "The Pirates of the Kabillion," and it is explicitly a compilation of existing material with a new framing device. The description for this video containing one of these short interstitial segments (uploaded by its stars, Schwartzy and Pagana) states that
we were asked to host a block of kids shows on the Kabillion Video on Demand Network, on a special called 'The Pirates of the Kabillion'. Here is the second of those intros…
With all this in mind, I think it's a reasonable conclusion that the "Bunny Maloney Movie" is another instance of Kabillion stitching together footage from a show they were distributing into a single "feature," with no new animation or involvement from the people who originally created it (in this case, MoonScoop and company).
There was a Bunny Maloney Movie that was present On Demand from Sept 6th, 2012-Oct 11th, 2012. Besides this listing, this is all we have as of current. No one knows what this movie was about at all, nor do we have any footage.

Solangelo Headcanons
So I’ve got a lot of these cause I’m such a simp for Nico and Will (feel free to ask me about any other Headcanons on either character, cause I’ve got LOTS)
They’re both massive nerds, but neither of them really like the same kind of things
Like, Will is more of a Star Wars and Star Trek fan, he loves Harry Potter more than life itself, and reads medical textbooks and animal books for fun
But Nico is such a linguistics and mythology nerd, we all know he loves Pokémon and DND, and he’s really into classic literature and art
They both spend 90% of their dates geeking out over their interests, and even when they talk about something the other doesn’t understand, they’re super supportive and sweet cause they’re both cute geeks
As much as they aren’t interested in the same things for the most part, they do have a few interests in common (pirates, astronomy, Dreamworks and Disney animated movies, The Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, music, marvel and DC)
They absolutely have movie marathon dates. It’s their favourite thing. Their favourite movie series’ are Pirates of the Caribbean, Night at the Museum, and The Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit
Nico loves watching Star Wars with Will because Will mumbled the lines along with the characters and does little lightsaber noises along with it and he’s so cute
Will likes watching movie adaptions of classic lit with Nico because he points out everything that’s different from the books, why the movies are bad, and insists on pausing it to go on rants about everything they got wrong. Will fucking loves it
They both have tattoos. Will’s got the sun over his chest, and a small semi colon on his left wrist next to a treble clef. Nico’s got a semicolon on his right wrist next to a bass clef
Will loves Halloween, and Nico could take it or leave it (he never did anything for it because he grew up in Italy), but Nico does couples costumes because Will looks at him with puppy dog eyes and Nico’s helpless
They’ve gone as Jed and Octavian from Night at the Museum; Buzz Lightyear and Woody; those two crazy pirates from Pirates of the Caribbean (the one with the wooden eye who dressed up in drag, and the short one who got upset over parlay); 1930’s mobsters; Adam and Barbara Maitland from Beetlejuice; Han Solo and Luke Skywalker
They actually talk to Mr. D, and that’s why they’re his favourite— they play poker with him, they talk to him, they treat him like anyone else and he lives them for it
Will loves every single one of Nico’s siblings (Rachel, Hazel, Reyna, Meg, Jason, Connor, Travis, Percy, Tyson, Estelle, Chiara, Piper, etc). They share ridiculous Nico stories and plan pranks on him— they all adore Will
Will’s siblings and friends lowkey love Nico more than Will. He brings them McDonalds, teases Will and makes Will blush, attempts archery to try to bond with them (he really tries, but he’s just really awful), he tells Will’s little siblings bedtime stories. Nico’s just really awkward, and he really tries, and they all love him. Of course, Cecil, Lou Ellen, Austin, and Kayla bug Nico a lot because he’s so awkward, but the truth is they really, really, really like him
Will is horrible at music. Like, truly horrible at anything to do with music. But he has an encyclopedic knowledge of music from over the last 200 years, and randomly quotes lyrics and talks about musical theory all day long
In contrast, Nico is amazing at playing piano and guitar, plus he enjoys playing the drums. He’s really musically talented, but knows nothing about the theory behind it or about the artists. Whenever Nico tries to learn a new song, Will nerds out over the musician/background of the song/cool lyrical devices that make it an amazing song. Nico frickin loves it
Nico loves cooking, while Will can’t cook for his life. Like someone get this boy some help, he almost burnt down his mom’s house while microwaving popcorn. They agreed that Nico would cook and Nico would clean
Nico can’t drive for shit. I mean, cars don’t exist in the city where he grew up (there’s not enough room for vehicles on the few roads in Venice), and even if there were, he’s Italian and gay (sorry about the stereotypes there, but I really can’t see Nico being a good driver). Will drives them everywhere or gets Jules-Albert to drive them, and hides Nico’s drivers license to ‘protect the public from his menace of a boyfriend’
You know how I mentioned the no vehicles in Venice thing? Yeah, no bikes are in the city either. Will taught Nico to ride a bike after the Giants War (before they started dating). Hazel took videos and pictures cause Nico was freaking out over it and yelling at Will not to let him die
Will finds animals on the street and adopts them. Nico begrudgingly helps Will to take care of the animals until they find good homes for them (mostly from people in New Rome)
Unfortunately, Will gets attached to them, and now they have 5 cats, 2 dogs, 3 snakes, 4 lizards, and a blue Jay
They’re both really grumpy in the morning. If you wake either of them up, they will probably bite your hand off
They like going on runs a lot? They’ll go on jogs once a day if possible, and they’ll chat or share earbuds while doing so
They go on dates on canoe lake a lot. They like to have races on the canoes, and to just float out away from everyone else (they totally don’t joke about being pirates or pretend to be pirates while on the lake, that’d be ridiculous and childish)
When Will’s been in the infirmary for too long, Nico walks in and throws a Kit Kat at his head, and then drags him out of the infirmary (sometimes by his ear, sometimes by his hand, depending on how long Will’s been in there for or how annoyed Nico is that day)
Nico’s teaching Will how to speak Venetian (he sucks at it, but Nico appreciates the effort)
Nico takes a long time to get used to PDA, and even after they’ve been dating for years, Nico’s really only comfortable with holding hands and hugs (plus cheek kisses or quick pecks) in public. Will’s fine with it, and he didn’t stop smiling for three days after Nico first pecked him on the cheek in public
International dates! Paris, Venice, Milan, Madrid, Banff, Athens, Cairo, Tokyo, Sydney, Ho Chi Minh, everywhere! They love travelling!
They have a lot of conversations where they tell the other how amazing they are (since they’re both pretty self-deprecating, and they think the world of the other, it ends up with them just going ‘shut up you’re beautiful, why do you put up with me’ for hours on end)
Dates on roofs! Nico and Will point out constellations at night and cloud watch during the day. They have picnics on the roof of the Big House, and the Hades and Apollo cabins all the time
They buy each other Funko Pop figures for birthdays, Christmas, and basically anytime they want to get each other a gift
