occasionally get hit by how much I love saga and casey’s relationship. casey being a part of the family, saga investigating on her own to find casey, them supporting each other even in the questionable reality around them, telling each other jokes the entire time, being in sync with their little coffee drinks. love them

#obviously they’re not without any challenges (that’d also be. boring) with casey hiding his sickness and sagas insecurity at being #a bad partner and friend. their worry the other might be targeted by the story and is caught up in everything #but their bond is so strong and refreshing #I just watched a horror movie with the typical asshole husband who doesn’t believe and support his wife #and my god it is a relief for saga and casey to actually agree something’s supernatural when nightingale first attacks #and have them communicate and be kind when talking to each other about believes #esp with saga being relatively (minus the Anderson bros etc.) alone in knowing Logan is alive and her life is what she remembers #alan wake 2 #im CONSTANTLY a little sad that it’s not. guaranteed we’ll see them together again #at the very least I need saga in the next control game 😭 remedy PLS she’d get along with so many characters

Decided to watch a “found footage horror film” posted to youtube called Milk & Serial and i’m not even 3 minutes in and it’s so bad bro i actually burst out laughing at how bad it is i can’t wait to watch this

#sid rants #sid watches #gd i love bad found footage movies #they have all the elements of how to make a ff horror movie but they can’t actually grasp it #they don’t give any real justification for continuing to film #the camera angles act like they’re sloppy to seem like a person holding a camera but they’re too perfectly centered on the action-#-to be believable #the camera will also be right in someone’s face while the camera operator is trying to talk to them #like no one is going to take anyone seriously that is recording them that close #or when people pretend they can’t see a camera if/until the plot demands it when it should be in plain view #hell even the thing they’re recording on this movie is not warranting being recorded this extensively #also no excuse is given for the jump cuts bc it isn’t the camera switching on and off when the operator does #but also if it’s ’found footage’ why would it have been edited?#basically they thought making a ff movie would be easier so they did it #and it was not well executed

This game used the audio recordings of Anneliese Michel? It has a girl’s slow death under negligence because of her epilepsy and psychosis (using the brain scans to debunk it makes no sense it was the 70s and even doctors, their machines, and their medicine were ill-equipped. The "proof" was her acting strange around religious iconography, having different personalities, and eating bugs and urine. Nothing as supernatural as 'speaking in different tongues' occurred and her parents were deeply catholic so they're inclined to believe it's the devil. If you look at the dates, it coincides with the rise of the satanic panic.)

So, Airdorf mixed it into a video game boss battle. Yeah I’m not fucking with this game anymore what a sick joke.

just watched the evil dead (1981) 👍 didn’t like it quite as much as i expected but it was pretty fun i love practical effects and men covered in blood so. good movie for that. the stop motion (?) at the end was soooo rad. now i’m watching beetlejuice (for the first time can you believe it! i was into the musical for years and years and never watched the movie)

I actually don’t read very many messed up fucked up disturbing books because I’m a weenie baby and I get frightened and grossed out easily. However I do advocate for them and I love that they exist. Whenever I hear about or read the back blurb of a messed up fucked up disturbing book I always think, damn it’s great that this is here and I could read it if I wanted. I think it’s fantastic. I can barely make it through a normie ass horror movie but I appreciate fucked up disturbing media. I respect it. Solidarity with the folks that love fucked up disturbing shit. 🫡

the worst take i have ever seen is when someone on here said that basically anything horror related is just goreporn and theres no reason for things like that to be in art and, worst of all, people are bad if they enjoy things like that. like idk how else to tell you this, but disregarding an entire genre of storytelling just bc you think its icky is the antithesis of art imo. im sorry not every story follows a disney formula so its easier for you to grasp the main point:( must be rough

#this is coming from someone who also does not like gorey stuff. im extremely squeamish so its hard to sit thru that stuff #i watched a review of martyrs (2008) and just the audio from that review made me faint lol #but that doesnt mean there isnt value in the horror genre just bc sometimes its gross and exploitative #there are some really meaningful ways you can abstract a character’s feelings thru grotesque images. some of the best horror does this #also there are definitely examples of horror movies which exist just to be gross and devoid of thought #but horror isnt the only genre that has bad creations behind it lol like have you seen a romcom ever?#those are rife with meaningless formulaic apathetic creations lol #i just think it is very weird to disregard a whole genre of art #and to further insinuate there’s something wrong w ppl who enjoy that art #seems like maybe you just don’t have a very good grasp on the art itself #idk how someone has this take and doesn’t realize they’re a few steps removed #from being the type of person who thinks playing first person shooter video games turns people into mass murderers lmao #like girl you are literally your grandmother
