after the other shenkos ever so cruelly reminded me of the shared "are you flirting with me?" line shep and kaidan have in me3, i just need to cover my favorite things about it.

so there are like, two main flavors of shenko, right. the trilogy romance run and the me3 romance run. the "are you flirting with me?" line takes on different meanings with each one, and they're both so good.

with a previously romanced kaidan, it's funny because it takes on more of a silly "haha let's pretend we're new at this" joke. like "oh, we have to start from the beginning again, looks like we're back to basic flirting LOL". i know people say this line makes more sense with an unromanced kaidan, but i do really love the idea of it being a goof between the two of them as their relationship recovers.

while unromanced, you've got kaidan, who's been pining since me1, but has been dealing with commander "i'm married to my job. also i died and joined cerberus" shepard. and kaidan's genuinely just so fucking flabbergasted at the mere notion that 1. this seems to truly be the shepard he remembers and has feelings for, 2. that shepard might be into him and 3. that shepard is possibly flirting with him. and then once shepard repeats the "are you flirting with me?" line later, its a mix of this confidence boost, and the "fuck it, the world is ending" mentality that finally leads to kaidan flirting way more obviously and eventually deciding to take his shot. i love it. and like others have said, this could become an inside joke as well.

They absolutely settle in a giant Lush Cave biome. Grian builds a nest out of all the moss/vines and Scar uses his Vex magic to make Glowberries grow

He and Cub mine the cave system for resources. They gather lots of Redstone and Cub sets up creature comforts like furnaces, an auto farm, and hidden doors so no one finds them

The scientist is mesmerized watching his "captors" return to life. Grian's feathers are glossier, their hue more vivid, and even his speaking voice takes on a melodious charm. Scar's skin takes a bluish tint. His eyes literally glow when he's happy and his magic recovers enough for him to hover again. Cub hears them laughing for first time ever and almost cries.

Scar is quick to show affection and affirmation towards Cub. He teaches him simple Vex spells and takes an interest in Cub's redstoning. The highest honor comes when he asks Cub to help set up a prank on Grian.

Grian takes more time to warm up to Cub. He was one of the scientists responsible for their torment, and Grian's instincts aren't calmed yet.

But watching Scar treat him fondly eventually sways Grian's heart. He allows Cub to get close and observe his feathers, makes sure to hunt extra food for him, and eventually starts cooing and nuzzling Cub in an attempt to preen him. It's pretty obvious he wants him for a mate.

That conversation is... tricky. Cub doesn't feel he deserves either of them. He doesn't understand why they're being nice to him. Scar and Grian take an evening to explain how much they cherish him for saving them. It's rare to find a human so brave and caring. They absolutely want him to be part of their family.

It ends with Cub incubating their first clutch. Scar and Grian get to recover from their breeding trauma while also affirming their love for the human.

And Cub didn't know what "doting" was until he had a Vex and Harpy for mates! Scar never leaves his side and cracks jokes to pass time. He conjurs illusions to tell stories and uses his magic to keep Cubs body out of pain. Grian purrs and holds him tight, cooing at how perfect he is to carry their clutch.

It's absolute love like the man has never felt before. It's overwhelming. It's forgiving. It's reassuring. Half of the incubation period is just Grian and Scar holding him as he infinitely apologizes.

When the eggs do arrive and weeks later when hatch, Cub's prepared to see their offspring. He may have carried them, but he didn't contribute any genetic material. That's okay. He'll still love them and keep them healthy.

Until one of babes opens its eyes and its blue like his. Grian has black eyes. Scar's eyes are green.

"But, I don't understand. How is that possible? I didn't add any-"

"A little Vex magic." Scar winks. "I made sure you were more than just a warm belly."

And instead of crying, Cub takes a hatching from Grian (earning a slight "Don't touch my babies" growl from the broody bird) and kisses it. Family. He had a family now. They had a family, and it was finally safe like it should be.

Hi! sorry this took a while to answer, yesterday was a super busy day for me so i havent really had the time to reply until now. Thank you for seeing me as a hangman expert; it's totally not the case as I really haven't seen too many matches from before he started in AEW, but I will give you some that I enjoyed for different reasons. Adam Page vs Zane Dawson - CWF Mid Atlantic Wrestling - Jan. 25, 2014: I like this match because the color commentator is literally all of us. He is a very loud country man objectifying and complimenting Adam with his whole chest. There is a point in the match where Adam does a beautiful indian deathlock and the commentator is just. Chef's kiss. I also just love to see baby Adam in all his glory.

Hangman Adam Page vs Kota Ibushi - Supercard of Honor - Apr. 7, 2018: this match really shows off how agile and fast he is and can be. the man stood toe to toe with kota fuckin ibushi. he's a badass.

Hangman Adam Page vs Kazuchika Okada - G1 Climax 28, Day 5 - Jul. 20, 2018: love this one because the story going into it is that Okada, who had lost his IWGP heavyweight championship, was kinda....gone off the deep end. rather than being the badass rainmaker, he dyed his hair red and was all spiky, didn't come out in his badass robe, was always smiling, and had balloons with him all the time. during the g1, i had my url as balloonmakerokada because i thought it was funny. im digressing - so hangman didn't want to wrestle this okada. he wanted to wrestle the badass, the man who held the title for so long people didn't know a world where he wasn't the champion. he wanted the REAL okada. so he spent the entirety of this match trying to bring him out. it's great. he curses, does the okada pose. love that for me. hot.

Hangman Adam Page vs Hiroshi Tanahashi - G1 Climax, Day 7 - Jul. 22. 2018: love this one too for story purposes. the ace promises everyone that he will take the poison out of hangman. he knows he has so much potential and the bullet club is just making him worse. he wants to save him. and they're also both comedy kings. i lvoe them together.

Hangman Adam Page vs PAC - Wrestlegate Pro - May 18, 2019: it seems he's had TWO great matches on may 18 because the takeshita match three years after this one on the same date is also fucking good.

guess who's back, back again! loved the new chapter, don't worry so much about the length. really, it's your story and you're the one telling it, so whatever you think is best in that regard works :) don't worry about disappointing anyone, it only matters that you're happy with what you're putting out and i think you really should be bc as i said it's some of the Best work i've read when it comes to fic. now for the yelling.

Again, i feel so honored that you'd take time out of your day and end me this. Thank you a thousand times <3 I do prefer longer chapters myself so I always feel guilty when I put out shorter ones but this time I didn't know how else to do it. Because of the important scene that is approaching (probably the chapter after next).

and of course Kevin came to visit :) They're a fmaily and writing this I had such strong longing, wihsing I had friends like these but I'm glad that you do! Everyone deserves people to be there for them and close to them. I'm rambling sorry. Travis is going to be back next chapter (in person) so you can look forward to that.
