Ok ok so Time and Winds relationship
If you look at their progression of interactions through the comic, their relationship has a very distinct storyline/character arc and it's really really cool ok
So starting at the beginning (their first and early interactions).
Time likes Wind (I mean who doesn't) they have the hero connection, and there's a lot for Time to see himself in him.
Tumblr media
Time doesn't underestimate Wind like some of the others, he knows perfectly well what's it's like to be a young hero (way too young like geez) and still be perfectly capable.
And then everyone splits up. They enter their new timeline/era thing through the portal and they separate into groups to try and find information, and Time and Wind go together. (why is that? Maybe Wind went with who he knew wouldn't underestimate him, and maybe Time wanted to get to know him a little more. Many possibilities.)
With the group split they end up fighting a bunch of monsters (of course). And the scene after the battle is just... Time takes Wind’s sword and compliments it, the art is so soft, it's just... it's the start of them have a really caring connection
Tumblr media
ALSO- TIME QUOTING SHADE TO WIND TIME QUOTING SHADE TO WIND
Tumblr media
Look of a hero, discipline with the blade... those were phrases used in twilight princess by Hero's Shade (Time's skeleton ghost thingy?) when he’s teaching Twilight how to fight and become the hero he needs to be. And the fact that Time is quoting that to be Wind's mentor and guide him as a young hero is so cool. (So. Cool.)
And at the end, after the battle, Wind asks him that question, “I was wondering... about your original journey” And Time actually answers Wind's question. He tells him about his journey, and this starts a whole new chapter in their relationship. Because guess who went into detective mode? Wind.
He starts theorizing, and actually tries to get a chance to bring it up at first (“speaking of history-”), but eventually finds (makes) a moment to explain his findings.
Tumblr media
And Time's skeptical, of course he is.
There's a few reasons why, but here's the main one: Twilight. In this scene where Wind is explaining why he believes he is the hero after Time, his descendant, Twilight, makes two appearances.
Tumblr media
But Twilight is not part of the conversation. He's sitting a distance away, and we have no indication that he even knows they’re talking. Yet Time still looks over to him, because Twilight is his descendant. He KNOWS Twilight is his successor, but in this conversation they puzzle out a bit more of the timeline split.
And Time realizes... he has two hero's that came after him. Twilight in the main path, the one that Time previously believed was the only timeline, but there's actually more...
Tumblr media
And at the end of that section, Time’s a little overwhelmed (who wouldn't be when you're figuring out you broke the flow of time...)
But, this is the start of Time and Wind’s relationship with Time knowing Wind's one of his successors
Yet even though he's overwhelmed, he touches Wind and acknowledges the facts he's puzzled out (and it's so so sweet)
Tumblr media
Buuuuuut this starts a whole new chapter in their relationship. For the section where they’re puzzling out the timeline, and the next, look at their faces. You can see it in those conversations, they're uncertain. Time is trying to reshape his understanding of the world (he’s shaken and looks pretty tired, probably because he found out he left a whole timeline without a hero whoopsies)- but he also cares about Wind and wants to be there for him as well. And Wind looks very nervous around Time. He's excited that he knows he's the hero he heard about before him, but he's nervous about getting closer to him like he wants to.
Then Time goes into detective mode.
And there’s one thing Time really starts wondering: how the hell did Wind’s hyrule get flooded? It was not, in fact, a giant ocean when he left that timeline. So he asks, and Wind answers, but they don’t really start timeline talk with the rest of the group yet.
Tumblr media
And I would like to point out that apparently Time and Wind have like. Half the brain cells of the entire group. Because we see literally no one else (at this point) has had whole sections where they’re puzzling out the timeline, but these two are over here obsessing over it lol.
After they have those talks about timelines and kingdoms, they don’t have all the answers yet, but what they have established is this: in Wind’s timeline, he is Time’s successor, and they both want to be close because of that.
And then Time just like!! Adopts Wind :)
With all this build up and conversations, we now see Time and Wind spending so much more time together.
In the group they start ending up walking near each other more often, and they start fighting closer together in battles a bit more
But it’s not one sided- we see Time keeping an eye on and watching out for Wind during battle, as well as Wind defending Time when a skeleton was like. Falling on them. And they’re just working and fighting for each other and it’s awesome.
Tumblr media
And it’s cool because through the storyline we see the progression: Time’s the hero dad for everybody, but then he and Wind fight together, and start talking about their journeys to each other, then puzzling out the timeline, then acknowledging that Wind is a successor to Time, and asking questions, and then we see them get so much closer throughout the storyline.
(And Time is still so close to Twilight obviously, he’s his descendant and they have such a special bond but then he’s also developed this unique relationship with Wind too and it’s great)
And so it’s just evolved into a really sweet relationship because Wind looks up to Time, and Time is kind of his mentor, but at the same time he respects Wind’s strength.
And the fact that in the first place Time was willing to tell Wind about his journey simply because he asked, leading to all these discussions and getting closer… well. They care for each other, and it shows.

reader and calamity pissing the chain off with their unending dance around each other’s feelings. bonus points if reader is none the wiser to how he feels due to his conscious effort to remain solemn 24/7. the links have all been there at some point, so they can read him, but reader’s out of the loop.
Sure thing! Sounds fun! XD

"He's doing it again." Four mutters under his breath.
"Do not tell me. I don't need to see it." Wild grits his teeth, pulling his hood further over his head. It hurts his head and his heart, watching the two of them together. He cannot believe they used to be the same person.
"It's not that bad." Hyrule tilts his head. "Surely they would know that he's interested."
"Oh! Thank you, Cal." You gasp in surprise, quickly rummaging through your bag now that Cal had taken the torch from your grasp. he held it close so the light would still serve its purpose, but now you could use both of your hands to complete your purpose.
"Could he be any more obvious?" Wind groans and rubs his hand down his face. "Can't he just tell them already."
"Don't." Wild pulls the hood further over his head, straining the fabric at the seams.
"Easy, Cub." Twilight chuckles, patting him on the head. "Someone has to say something at some point, right?"
"That's what you think." Warrior snickers, even if he's cringing in his heart. This is painful to watch.
"Ok, thanks for holding that Cal." You take the torch back gently. "Sorry about calling you by your name. I'm still trying to get the new names to stick in my head. I'd call you Link but we both know why that wouldn't work."
The boy in question nods with the faintest smile on his face. You seem to get the idea that he won't take it personally.
You blush and cough, adjusting the strap of your bag over your shoulder.
Hyrule rolls his eyes so far up into his head that they threaten to fall out of it. "Why must we be subjected to this?"
"Just kiss!" Legend shouts in your general direction.
The Hero of the Calamity jolts and sends the coldest glare towards the Hero of Legend. You only seem to flush further and look away form both boys, shuffling into the group and away from Cal in the meantime. Legend for his part, doesn't seem to care less, sending a rude gesture in his direction with his tongue out, pulling down his eyelid in the process.
Time smacks him in the back of his head, nearly sending the young hero to the dirt. "Behave yourself. They're not hurting anyone."
"They're hurting me." Wild whines, wanting to blend into the shadows and ignore reality.
"S-sorry, Wild." You mutter. You also pull your hood over your head. It's easy to hide this way. At least it feels like you're hiding.
Cal comes up beside you, acting like a wall between you and judgmental looks of the other boys. He meets Wild's eyes. He's the only other hero that actually seems to fluster him. They have a lot to talk about and work through, but it's not like they want to talk about their personal lives or their lovers/lack thereof.
You reach down and take his hand. "Thank you."
Warrior blows an obnoxious raspberry and groans loudly. "As much as I hate to say it, I'm agreeing with Legend."
"Ha!"
Wild groans as well. "Legend please!"

I like the general fandom trend to just take the plot of Hyrule Warriors as a loose guideline at best and just use the whole concept as a good excuse to get blorbos to interact across timelines, BUT I'm very disappointed that everyone is missing the comedic potential of a very specific squad of characters:
Young Link (aka Mask), who walks out of the nightmare of Majora's Mask and immediately gets portal kidnapped into a temporal war, takes one look at the whole mess and decides that you could not fucking pay him to admit to being the resident expert on Time Shenanigans. He introduces himself with the title of Hero of Termina, and definitely doesn't have any other ones, that would be crazy. Hero of Time? Never heard of him.
Tetra, who is a kickass pirate captain with zero patience for people trying to shove her into the Designated Princess role, and realizes immediately that Oh Fuck, this Hyrule has a lot of Ideas about how the Hero and the Princess are supposed to properly play their parts, the second they realize she's technically a Zelda they're gonna shove her in a goddamn dress and damsel her again, that's not happening. So she's definitely just a really cool pirate captain, nothing else going on here at all, definitely not the heir of the Hylian royal family in her time, that'd be crazy.
Ravio, who is literally just a palette swapped Link, meaning that the second his hood comes off, things are gonna get Awkward. There's no way in hell he's dealing with all that Hero baggage, that's Link work, so that giant bunny hood/mask is practically superglued to his head, and he's not taking it off for love or money.
Spirit Tracks Zelda, who is just in the Phantom Armour the whole time, and passing herself off as just a friendly ghost posessing a suit of armour to help the Hero of Spirits. Of course she isn't Princess Zelda, that's ridiculous, if she were a Zelda then people would start getting really weird about her technically being dead, and boy does that ever sound like a whole Thing she doesn't want to deal with, so she can't possibly be Zelda, she's just a nice ghost knight. Also, her teenage grandma is here, and that's kinda weird, so it's easier to just not admit to being royalty and avoid that awkward conversation.
Finally there's Sheik, who is not the Princess Zelda of the era straight up abandoning her war torn country for months at a time so she can risk her life in extreme cosplay for no clear reason, but is instead the actual Sheik from Ocarina of Time, who just beat Ganondorf like a month ago and is still trying to process what the fuck to do now. Also, he's been pretending to be a boy since he was ten, and is realizing there's a pretty good chance that he isn't pretending anymore, so that's a whole other can of worms. But for the last seven years of his life, being Princess Zelda meant certain death, so he's not really inclined to introduce himself like when in a new and stressful situation (not to mention he might actually just not be a girl named Zelda anymore), so he automatically introduces himself as just Sheik the spooky ninja man, and fuck he's in too deep to back out now, looks like he's committing to the bit. If you think you sense the Triforce of Wisdom on him, no you don't.
Cue shenanigans as the five of them attempt to hide that they're all actually kind of A Big Deal. The group motto is "Nobody says shit", which is usually delivered as a frantic hiss whenever someone slips up. Just the reunion between Sheik and Mask alone would be absolutely buckwild given how they parted, and how they're both frantically pretending to Not be involved with each other. For added hilarity and/or drama, Sheik gives his semi-bullshit cover story of having just been a friend of the Hero of Time, then runs into said Hero of Time and they both have to desperately pretend not to know each other, because if anyone picks up on the mountain of baggage between them then Mask is busted, and he won't hesitate to drag Sheik down with him out of sheer spite. Not to mention the weird balance of Sheik being used to this Link being a teenager that's actually a small child, and now has to adjust to Link who is a small child that's actually a teenager.
Also, i really feel like we're all missing out on the comedy potential of Ganondorf recognizing Young Link on sight and the two of them immediately launching into a grudge match with some extremely personal and specific insults on both sides. Meanwhile literally everybody else is just standing there watching, trying to process the fact that out of every single person that's been pulled out of time, Ganondorf only has personal beef with a literal nine year old.
I just feel like we're all really sleeping on the potential for Shenanigans here. The whole thing is an absurd mess, why not have some fun with it?

random LU hcs before I go to church
Legend likes to draw, and while he uses it for practical purposes (he's compiling a bestiary of his own) he also likes to sketch random crap he finds while traveling
Hyrule weaves. Not fabric, since that's a bit legthly and requires materials he can't get or keep for long, but he's very good at making baskets and the like! When the rest go to his cave, it's just full of woven items, including his attempts at weaving a freaking chair. Hyrule is going to become Pier 1
Sky writes poetry but never shares it with anyone. Groose used to laugh at it when they were kids, and so he's very self-conscious about it (and not very good anyways). He does come up with some really, really good pieces though from time to time!
Warriors couldn't read before he enlisted. He had to learn, and did learn rather quickly once he had to, but he still did very much not grow up with books. He is, however, very fond of oral tradition and somehow keeps a library's worth of knowledge in his head, since he never knew how to write it down before.
Warriors loves folk tails and will use any excuse given in order to share them with the younger ones
Wind is a very proficient mapmaker. he's terrible at drawing figures or anything, but he's very good at charting things out and putting them down on paper
Wind has a great eye for photography though! He and Wild sometimes play a game where they have to find a particular item and take a pictograph of it and then they'll have one of the others judge which one is better. Wild's candids are usually better, but Wind has a talent from framing and using the light to his advantage that outshines Wild's.
Wind likes composing little tunes with the Windwaker when he's bored. he has accidentally discovered several magical songs and their effects in this manner. Sometimes Time debates if just teaching his the Song of Storms from the get go would have been better in the long run, since it would have saved them getting soaked so much
Four has a fascination with artistic metalwork. He can't do it himself, and often times can't understand how someone thought up the idea in the first place, but it gives him great delight to see various metal pieces/tools/items forged together into the oddest art pieces
Twilight claims he's no good art of any kind, usually blaming "these darn big paws o' mine", but the secret is that he's a talented embroiderer, he just doesn't consider it "art" in the same way the rest do. Most Ordon folks add stitch-work to things so he considers it standard practice, not exceptional.
Sky is also very good at stitch-work of all kinds
When Sky and Twilight discover their shared skill-set, they absolutely use it for evil (start adding little patterns and things on their brother's stuff). Is this competitive? They're Links, you tell me!
Time claims not to be very creative, but he's actually quite good at art himself! Just drawing, as his paintings have a very childish sort of color combinations and the like, but he's surprisingly very good with shading and proportions!
All the boys play music, but Twilight's a good hand on the fiddle/violin (but only for short periods) and Legend has a surprising preference for the piano/organ. They'd make an excellent duet if they actually managed to know any of the same songs
Wild cannot and should not play instruments, Hylia help your ears if he does. He's also not that great of an artist (look for JoJo's comic of him drawing a new tapestry, it's hilarious). He likes the art the others make, but in general, the best he can do it just making designs and patterns that always seem to resemble Korok puzzles.

He's Becomes a Dad || Part 2/2
Part 1
Pairing: Twilight, Warrior, Sky, Wild x Reader
Overview: Congratulations, you're new parents 🎉 Some of the Links are prepared. Others...might need a moment to gather themselves. But rest assured! At the end of the day, they're all going to get a handle on this whole dad thing. Warning: Mentions of miscarriages for Sky's section. Nothing to detailed, but it's there so beware 🙅‍♀️

It's never been a surprise to you that Twilight would want kids of his own. He never even had to say it aloud, you could just read that look in his eyes whenever playing with the village children. It was a wordless yet ever so contagious request: I want this. And how were you to deny him? Just look at him!
Simply put, children were a top priority of yours almost as soon as you married. It didn't take long for you to become pregnant either (not with Twilight's fierce passion and your shared disinterest towards 'waiting'). Regardless, there were still many tears shed when you found out - all happy, of course, as your husband spun you around in his arms while you both laughed giddily in between quick kisses.
Let's get this straight: Twilight is prepared-prepared. Ordon is that type of close-knit community where everyone helps raise each other's kids, so despite this being his first rodeo as a new dad himself, he has plenty of experience taking care of youngsters. As a ranch-hand, he's also perfectly accustomed to the whole birthing process, having hand-delivered more baby goats than he can count, so don’t worry, nothing about the ‘less glamorous’ sides of pregnancy scare him.
With that being said, Twilight doesn't stress too much aside from the normal concerns about your health, after all he recognizes that not every pregnancy is the same for every woman, but that's exactly why he makes it his personal mission to ensure your comfort.
Feeling particularly ill? He'll make you all the tasty pumpkin soup you could ask for which, believe it or not, works wonders for an upset stomach. Just having a bad day? He'll happily let you cuddle with Wolfie to help you relax. Restless? He'll take you on a horse ride no matter the hour and if you're too far along in your pregnancy to climb onto Epona, a simple walk to Ordon's spring will do since that's the perfect spot to soak your sore body. Twilight is no above carrying you there himself if you ask.
Trust that your every worry is always smoothed; Twilight is there to reassure you no matter how 'little' the problem. Have concerns he can't speak on as a man? He'll happily go ask one of the other village women for you if you're too embarrassed to do so yourself, in fact this guy's already been talking Rusl and Uli's ears off for advice since day one. He doesn't want to leave a single thing to chance regardless of how confident he already feels which is probably why there's a stack of parenting books on his nightstand. Did he clear the shelves in Castle Town? Probably.
You're pretty sure that Twilight already had a 'go-bag' put together before the end of your first trimester, although he’d add to it like a paranoid squirrel up until your due-date. Curious, you had gone through it one day just to get a hint of how overboard he might've gone. Diapers, snacks, blankets, comfortable clothes for you, more parenting books...He does realize you're doing a home birth, right? Most of this stuff he could just grab from the cabinet if needed, but it's sweet that he's trying to be organized.
It isn’t really news to anyone that Hyrule’s heroes tend to land on the quieter side and usually Twilight isn’t much different…There’s a key word in there because you’re quite certain he hasn’t actually shut up since the second you told him you’re pregnant. He can hardly keep his excitement to himself! Oh, but it’s adorable, especially on those nights when he’ll fall asleep mumbling about his joy all while using your swollen stomach as a pillow. It makes your heart swell every time.
When you eventually go into labor, Twilight doesn’t show much outward panic if he has any at all, however he does feel incredibly terrible to watch you go through it without any relief. He feels absolutely useless while unable to take away your suffering the way a good husband should, so to make up for it, he does his utmost best to be your rock during those long hours, talking you through each painful contraction and doing everything in his power to distract you. Back rubs, walks around the house, whispers of sweet nothings…He’s by your side well into the night, keeping it up until it finally comes time to start pushing.
He definitely was not going to say it while you were going through the motions because he’d like to keep his head, but human and goat births are pretty much the same thing minus the actual cursing. He’s in his element then, knowing exactly what to do to ensure a safe delivery for mama and baby. His movements are almost automatic, trained by years of practice as he cleans the little one off before taking the time to admire them fully.
Are you shocked that Twilight is teary eyed? Not at all. Are you upset that he almost forgets about you entirely for a second because he’s so entranced by the baby? Also no, since you need a moment to catch your breath anyway. Don’t worry, though, he does eventually pass you your son reluctantly before hovering at your side with possibly the widest grin you’ve ever seen on the man since your wedding day.
The rest of the night is calm from there on, filled with quiet whispers and cooing as you both take turns partaking in skin-to-skin contact with your baby. Will you be doing this again soon? You’re probably going to need a decent break to recover, but just know that your husband is absolutely ready whenever you are. In the meantime, expect to be showered in endless love and affection because you deserve it for the priceless gift you’ve given him.
Tumblr media
Your relationship with Warrior has always been ‘slow moving’ if compared to most other couples’. For starters, while he may have a formidable reputation for being a supposed lady's man, all that 'skill' of his would go flying out the window whenever faced with your presence, so it took some time (and maybe a near-death experience) for any confessions to be made. In his defense, you're a very beautiful and strong woman who happened to be one of his superiors during most of the war, so please excuse him for usually being awed into silence whenever you showed even an ounce of interest in ‘lil ol’ him. His brain would literally become a windows error.
Even after Warrior did finally find the courage to ask you out, your respected jobs and heavy workloads have often forced your relationship to be put on the back-burner. Marry you? Hylia knows he’s been DYING to! You’re already wearing the ring and everything, but it's not like you're going anywhere anytime soon and he'd rather wait a few extra years to enjoy the perfect moment rather than rush the whole ‘happiest-day-of-our-lives’ thing during a bad time.
Luckily for him, you've never needed a formal certificate to know you own his heart. He proves it to you in other ways every day from cheesy love letters to overly romantic dates during your rare off time, and while you normally adore being the sole subject of his affection, that's exactly how you ended up in this very situation.
You're both adults and as such you won't pretend to be innocent: This wasn't planned in the slightest. Your jobs can be quite chaotic, as previously addressed, so you just wanted to help your husband-to-be relax and destress a bit - nothing new for either of you in itself, although that particular evening would end up weighing heavily on your mind a few weeks later.
To be honest, when you first entered Warrior's office and instructed him to sit down with a stern voice that could rival Commander Impa's, he thought you must've finally grown tired of being engaged for several years, having come to him then to demand that he marry you sooner. Agreement was right on the tip of his tongue when you delivered the bombshell that you were pregnant instead.
Your tone was serious and expression calm, but Warrior knows you well enough to spot the hidden worry in your eyes. It’s justified, of course. Had either of you even discussed having kids before? He doesn’t think so. It’s not like having a baby is a bad thing, though. The idea of creating a small family with you is a pleasant one, it’s just…happening a lot sooner than preferred. You both would’ve liked more time to plan and prepare…but oh well. What’s done is done.
The real concern is will your jobs allow you both time off to take care of a baby? It's not like a war is currently going on, so Hyrule won't suffer too much from having two of its best captains sidelined, however what happens if that doesn't remain the case? What if war breaks out tomorrow or the day after? Warrior can’t let his pregnant fiancée fight in battles! What kind of husband and father would that make him?! But at the same time, is he just supposed to ask that you sacrifice your career in order to spare his? THAT’S NO BETTER!
...All things considered, you'd say Warrior handles the news far better than some might've. Yes, he begins to ‘slightly’ overthink things, although that's exactly why you had him sit down first. Calmly, you take his hand and tell him how things will be (your own way of offering comfort not only to him, but yourself as well). The bottom line is that if you could successfully fight Ganondorf’s army together, you can raise a child together, too. Really, how much harder can it be? You already have some minor experience being unofficial parents to little Time and Wind during the war. Just don't give your own children any magic masks or wind controlling devices and you should be golden.
Thankfully, many of Warrior’s initial fears are proven to be irrational during the earliest stages of your pregnancy. Everyone else was positively thrilled to hear the news and even Impa gave her congratulations, explaining to your fiancé’s relief that she’ll simply assign you more deskwork until it’s fit for you to return back to your normal duties. All he has to worry about in the meantime is making sure you actually take it easy; only a slightly difficult task considering your headstrong nature and insistence on not being ‘coddled’, but hey, if anyone can handle it, it’s the guy who’s hellbent on marrying your stubborn butt one day.
Warrior will admit that there were still some nights when he would nearly pull his hair out while doubting if he’s actually ready to be a dad, however the moment you officially being showing is the same moment he forgets all about any possible regrets and replaces them entirely with daydreams filled with not only his lovely wife, but also a little one who will hopefully think the absolute world of him. He already knows he’ll think of it of them.
Although you may feel a bit nervous towards the prospect of suddenly being parents, that doesn’t change the fact that you wouldn’t choose anyone else to go through this journey with. One look to your side and you’re certain of it. The way Warrior holds his son for the first time, newborn wrapped comfortably in his scarf and dad, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion after hours of labor yet the proud smile evident on his face nevertheless…You were right before: so long as you do it together, you’ll excel in this whole ‘parenting-thing’.
Tumblr media
You had married young - almost as soon as you were able after graduating from the Knight Academy. To everyone else on Skyloft, you have always been the picture image of an ideal couple; the hero and his beloved princess who somehow manage to be completely and utterly smitten with each other even years later. To call Sky your husband is a blessing in itself and you consider yourself lucky every single day. There’s only ever been one problem with your relationship - one single complaint you can think of where neither of you are truly responsible: your lack of children.
When you first married, there was lots of talk, after all everyone was simply dying to know when the first generation on the Surface would be born. Your parents were eager for grandchildren and Zelda, your best friend, had way too much fun teasing you over the matter by expressing her 'surprise' that Sky had yet to give you a baby despite how 'passionate' he’s always been towards you (she would make sure to use those exact words, too).
Initially, you never minded anyone’s curiosity. It’s only natural to expect children from a newly wed couple. It's when that same couple reaches their third then sixth year of marriage without any trace of tiny feet or squealing laughter that those curious and well-meant questions grow quiet with unbearable pity, your shared excitement becoming shuttered sorrow.
At the start there was nothing to worry about. You were both young and not putting that much effort into it, so certain it wouldn't take long for your family to grow. Then the years began to pass and you would try everything the doctor recommended, but every test would still leave you as disappointed as the last. The absolutely worst form of despair came those few times you'd actually get your hopes up only to have them cruelly dashed a few months in.
What were you doing wrong? Sky would always hush your anxieties and do his utmost best to reassure you, however you knew by his own tears that your infertility hurt him just as much, especially when on those quieter nights, you'd suggest that perhaps you simply weren't meant to be parents - that the gods were just trying to tell you both something you were too stubborn to accept.
It's for that reason that you had such mixed emotions once finally able to fall pregnant again. You were optimistic deep down, however after six years of attempts and losses, you were wary to embrace too much joy right away which was shown in the way Sky held onto you for what felt like hours after you told him or how he slept each night with a hand on your stomach even in those early days, internally praying to the goddesses this would be the one.
A month passed...Then two...And three, and four…For once, you didn't feel sick aside from what was considered normal. Maybe a bit of high blood pressure the doctor kept a close eye on, but other than that he’d always tell Sky and you the same thing: they're healthy.
Even then, you’d say you remained extra cautious, not daring to eat nor do anything the doctor so much as hesitated against, however Sky was by far the worst when it came to worrying. As your husband, he considers your physical and mental well-being his personal responsibility, but as the father of your child? His work has doubled!
All chores were to be his alone so that you could rest. Any bout of sickness was closely monitored and tended to. His hand would remain on your stomach from beginning to end, although overtime it would be done less out of fear and more for the sake of bounding, often accompanied by his voice or the melody of his harp which he would happily play for you both whenever you were having a particularly difficult time falling asleep at night.
Now, you didn't dare tell anyone about your pregnancy during the first half, not wanting to deliver anymore bad news should it come, however once the remilit was out of the bag, you became the center of attention much to Sky's conflicted feelings. On one hand, you deserved it for all of your hard work growing a baby, but on the other, that overprotective dad-side of him couldn't help fretting over the vast number of harmful germs your guests could possibly be passing onto you and your unborn child. Did he make everyone wash their hands for ten minutes before visiting? Yes, yes he did.
Beyond being protective, Sky was also very emotional throughout the entire pregnancy maybe even more than you sometimes. He got teary-eyed after every doctor's appointment that confirmed the baby's development, while picking out names together, and even when you were yelling at him for something stupid because as far as he was concerned, you still looked so beautiful standing there with crossed arms and a round belly carrying his child. Oh, but none of that compared in the slightest to the tears that were shed when he actually held his daughter for the first time; that amount of waterworks could put the flood of Faron to shame!
Six years of waiting made you both lose hope. You assumed you’d never be able to have children of your own and even began to look towards other options such as adoption or simply living your lives childless forever…but the day your daughter was born was the day all your anxieties and doubts were finally put to rest. Now, as you cry happily with your husband, you can’t think of a single complaint towards your relationship; it’s officially as perfect as the precious little bundle in your arms.
Tumblr media
Wild and you were still practically newlyweds when you gave him the 'thrilling' news. You were so happy to do so, too, barely able to bite back your excitement while watching your husband lift a small pair of baby pajamas out of a gift box. You were absolutely glowing as you eagerly awaited his reaction and all he could do was simply stare into space as his whole world came crashing down on top of him. Did he look horrified on the outside? He must've, because he swears he could’ve pinpointed the exact moment that shine in your eyes died, a frown etching its way onto your lips. What else was he supposed to do aside from fake a smile and embrace you, keeping you close to his chest so that your delight wouldn't be spoiled by his internal nervous breakdown?
Wild has zero right to be shocked. You had both been intimate (as tends to happen when you're married) not to mention you had made it perfectly clear from the start of your relationship that you would want a family one day. Judging on your eagerness towards the topic, it was never up for debate either; no kids would be a dealbreaker for you, so Wild had no choice but to quietly agree, too afraid to dare utter the truth or voice any hesitation because Hylia forbid you get the wrong idea and leave him.
He thought it would be harmless. Some couples remain married for years before any children follow and you weren't in any big hurry, so he figured he'd have plenty of time to get his act together until the day of your dreams arrived; he didn't think it would happen during your first year of marriage! ...Now he's really dug himself into a hole it's too late to try escaping from…
He’s almost said something - a few times actually. He knows it’s only fair and that as your husband, he owes you proper communication, but each time he opens his mouth, his mind curses him with the image of your sadness. What if you think he doesn’t want this at all? What if you think he hates the baby and hates you for being pregnant? What if you concluded he must want to leave you so you decide to beat him to the punch?!
…Okay, so Wild knows you aren’t going to just walk away. You’ve always been good at listening to his inner demons and acting as his strongest pillar of support, but that doesn’t change his fear that you might be hurt by whatever he has to say and he will not allow himself to ruin your own excitement.
In the years that he’s known you, he can’t say he’s ever seen you quite as happy as when you found out about your baby. He knows he should match that joy, too. Most men do. Hell, Twilight practically sent a five-page essay bragging about his wife's first pregnancy. Truth be told, Wild actually does feel happy. On his better days, he feels that flicker of pride and a hint of eagerness because a family with you honestly sounds wonderful. The problem is, in his mind, it isn't a question as to what he wants, but rather what he deserves.
So much has gone wrong in his past. It doesn’t matter how much you or anyone else assures him otherwise, it’s hard to shake the feeling that he failed Hyrule. He still suffers from so many nightmares and waves of guilt that he can’t properly put into words. You’re still having to shake him out of dazes and smooth his following sobs…How is he going to be a good dad and be there for his child when he can barely stand upon his own two feet like this?
Initially, Wild thought these feelings would go away; that’s why he never spoke them to you. He wanted so desperately to believe they wouldn’t linger, especially after you both got married. He lives in a peaceful world, has a nice home in a quiet village, a beautiful wife who adores him…He should’ve been able to move on from the Calamity already, so why hasn’t he? On his worst nights, it makes him wonder if he’ll ever be okay or if he’s just screwed you and the baby over by tying you both down to him.
These two sides of him - the hopeful and the pitiful - continue to battle for dominance inside Wild’s head throughout each step. Sometimes he’s genuinely smiling with you as you pick out baby names. Other times he’s sitting outside alone trying his damn hardest to remember any piece of his past that might make him feel at least a little better about his luck towards being a dad, preferably a time when he was actually good with kids or even had a family before.
Wild’s internal dilemma comes to a head one fateful night when he’s awoken to the baby’s distressing cries. He had honestly already been awake after a mild case of anxiety, but you on the other hand are tired, worn from nine long months of pregnancy and the early days of active motherhood. The last thing he wants is for you to lose out on precious rest (a rare gift these days), so leaping out of bed, he’s quick to reach the baby’s crib.
Unfortunately, Wild’s natural instincts seem to basically stop right there at the crib’s side. Hands hovering above, he tries his best to calm his daughter through whispered assurances and attempts at cooing the same way he’s seen you do. When that doesn’t work, he awkwardly picks her up, cuddling her close to his chest while quietly pleading at this point. Is she hungry? Does she need a diaper change? Did she have a nightmare? Whatever it is, if you wake up, you’ll take over and he’ll be left to stand aside feeling like he can’t even do the basic task of comforting his own child and -
- To his astonishment, his efforts actually work. It really must’ve been as simple as a nightmare because slowly, the baby falls silent, seemingly forgetting all about her troubles as she finds solace gazing up at her daddy with the widest blue eyes and a stuck-out tongue that can’t seem to keep itself in her mouth. It looks rather goofy, so Wild can’t help but chuckle, although the sound is soft as his heart melts under the attention she holds towards him. If he didn’t know any better, he’d say it’s almost like she’s looking at her entire world…
Maybe some would say this moment isn’t necessarily anything special, but for Wild, it’s everything. As if suddenly a pro, he’s able to rock the little beauty gently back to sleep, his pleas turning into words of admiration as he tucks her into bed. There, he continues to keep watch over her until he feels tired himself, all the while thinking: he might be broken from years of trauma, and he might not be the best husband or parent out there because of it, but that's not going to stop him from doing everything in power to be there for his princesses.

The Chain + TP! Reader (3/?)
< Part 2
Plot : You are Twilight's childhood best friend, who like Twilight can turn into an animal, that is a crow. You just happen to follow Twilight into the portal in your crow form and meet the Chain.
( Fem Reader )
Note : (Y/n) and Twilight are a couple in this fic. Also, apologise that I couldn't include all Links in the conversation but they're there listening.
-----------
"(Y/n)?!" you stand there awkwardly, Link or Twilight stated in shock. "Did you follow me all the way here?!" he asks, you give him a nod as you avert your gaze 'Sorry....' you said. "Oh Hylia...." Twilight sighs as he rubs his temple. The other Links witness the scene unfold as they watch their brother talk to a crow.
"Is it yours, Rancher?" questioned Legend. Twilight takes a deep breath, "Yeah, she's mine" he said as he walks over to you and holds out his hand for you to perch on. You step up his hand as he caresses your head and giving a little scratch on your cheek.
You let out a small coo as you lean into his touch. "You and...." Sky trail as Twilight turns to him, "(Y/n), that's her name" he said. "(Y/n), that's a pretty name. Aw, looking at this reminds me of Crimson and I" Sky said as he smiles at the thought of his own bird companion.
"She has been with me for the longest time" Twilight said, his lips curls up into a smile. "She's my friend" he said, 'and my lover...' he thought lovingly.
"So, it seems we got a new addition in the team huh" chirps Wind, Four and Hyrule smiles. "Well, a friend of Twilight is a friend of ours" Hyrule said. "I wonder how Wolfie will react to this" grin Wild. "I heard that Wolves and Crows have symbiotic relationships! I think they will get along well!" Four chimed.
'Too well...' you and Twilight thought at the same time. "Can't wait for Wolfie to come back" Wind said. A wind blows to your face which causes you to squawk in surprise. You turn your head around to see Epona close to you, 'Epona, you scared me!' you said. Epona snorts and neighs, licking you gently to apologise.
Guess she's happy to see you here. You climb on to Epona's head as you crows, 'It's okay, just don't do that again' you said. "You're happy too huh, girl" Twilight said as he rubs Epona's neck.
.
.
Later that night, Twilight got the first shift. You're still perched on his shoulder as Twilight sits at the edge of the camp so he can talk to you.
"So is this why you didn't want me to come along. They're good people, why didn't you introduce them sooner?" you questioned him, Twilight sigh. "It's not like that..." he said. "It's just, our mission is....much more dangerous and I... don't want you to get hurt...." he said. Twilight was disappointed when you followed him to the portal, but he can't really blame you for it since he wasn't truthful. It would be different if he was honest with you and you would have stayed back in Ordon. He can't really do anything now and has to keep you close to him.
Once the portal to his world opens up, he will send you back home where you are safe from danger, away from evil. Away from Shadow....
"I have a question, Link" you speak up gaining his attention, "What is it, pumpkin?". "Did they really call you Wolfie when you were a wolf?" you asked with a smug look on your face. Twilight raises an eyebrow before letting out a chuckle, "Haha, ah yes they did. They didn't even come up with a better name for me. Dumb isn't?" he said.
"I like Wolfie. It sounds cute" you chirped. Twilight smiles as he pecks at your beak, "Hmm, you're cuter than me, love" he said which causes you to blush. You couldn't help but cover your face with your wing, god why he so romantic?
"Anyways, (N/n). Did you told dad before leaving?" Link questioned, which makes you gasp. "Oh, no! I forgot!" you said, you forgot to tell your parents about leaving to join Link. You didn't even leave a note! They're going to be worried. "Calm down, love. I'm sure your dad understands. I'm sure he knows where you are right now" Twilight said. "Besides, he trusts me to take care of you. He's my teacher after all" he continues.
Twilight notices that his shift is almost over and Four will take over the next shift. He stands up and stretches his limbs, "Time to go to bed" he said. He walks over to the campfire and Four is already awake, ready to take the next shift. "See anything?" Four questioned the rancher, Twilight shakes his head "There's nothing unusual as for now" he said, Four nods as he stands up "Well, I'm gonna stretch my limbs for a bit" he said. "Good night, Twi, (Y/n)" he waves as he takes a few steps away from the camp. He lets you down on the log as he takes off some of his equipment and leaves him only in his tunic.
He doesn't really want to risk taking it all since everyone is out in the wilderness and enemies could attack at any moment, so it's better to leave some on. Twilight lies down on his bed roll as you snuggle yourself on his chest, his hand gently set on your back.
"Goodnight...." he whispers as you reply back, "Hm....goodnight...." you mumbled before dozing off.
.
Click!
Click!
.
You hear a clicking sound, which wakes you up. You open your eyes groggily and let's put a yawn, your feathers puff up doing so as you cuddle deeper in the warmth of Twilight's tunic. It was so warm that it made you doze off again....
Click!
Click!
There it is again.
You snap your eyes open to see Wild holding a slate in his hands, he's smiling and giggling to himself. 'What's up with him?' you thought
Click!
The slate lets out a clicking sound, what is that thing?
"Good morning, (Y/n)" Wild said with a smile, the sun is rising and the first one to wake up was Wild, Legend and Time. You stretch your wings and look down on Twilight, he is still sleeping. He usually wakes up before the sun is up. You were slightly surprised that he hasn't woken up yet, "Rancher went back to sleep since he doesn't want to wake you up" Wild said.
You notice that Wild is cooking breakfast, what is he making? You hop onto the log to see what he's cooking. Seems like scrambled eggs and toast?
"Curious are we? I'm making scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, want a taste?" he said holding out a small portion for you to taste. "It tastes a little bland since I'm running out of herbs" he said.
You smile, 'Heh, herbs you say? Well, I got you covered!' you thought. You spread your wings and fly away, carrying your bag with you. It makes Wild sadden a little bit when you fly away. This causes Legend snorts, "Oh wow, seems the crow hates it" he said as Wild sends a glare at the veteran.
Finding herbs wasn't that hard for you, you managed to pick a beak full of fresh herbs like basil, rosemary, thyme, chives— you name it. You also found a couple of rupees along the way and stuff them in your bag.
When you return to the camp, everyone is already awake and ready to have their breakfast. You land on the log and crows at Wild, the man turns around to see you're back with something in your beak.
"Are those herbs? Did you pick them for me?" he pointed out. You nod, puffing out your chest in pride, Wild smiles "Thank you, (Y/n)" he said, taking the herbs from you. He looks through them and Hyrule leans in, "Oh hey, there's medicinal herbs here too" he said, picking up a herb.
"Did you teach her, Twilight?" Questioned Hyrule to Twilight, the blonde blinks "Ah, not really. She learned it by herself—" he said. "By herself? That's amazing!" Hyrule smiles, he was impressed that a crow learned about herbs all by itself when you were actually taught by your dad, Rusl. "Yeah, it's amazing that a crow learns about herbs. Is it possible for me to teach it to Crimson?" Sky hummed.
Receiving praises makes you feel pleased and happy, slightly bashful. Maybe you should do this more often?
"I wonder what else she can do?" Legend smirks, putting a hand on his hips. "Does she bring back shiny stuff? Like gold?" he questioned. 'Gold?! Where?!' you squawked, looking left and right. This causes Twilight to look away and scratch his cheek, "I think it's better not to mention gold around her" he chuckles nervously.

I headcanon Wind is hungry all the time and he gets growing pains in his legs when he has growth spurts.
@unexpectedstormy
This was a fun little fic to write. Sorry it's not very long. But I hope you enjoy it!
Bottomless Pit
Wind is hungry all the time
"Anyone got any food?" Wind asked, as the Chain pushed through the thick undergrowth of the forest they had just portaled into.
"Food?" Time asked, from up ahead. "We ate a few hours ago!"
"Portals make me hungry. My stomach is growling like a moblin moved in!" Wind moaned.
Hyrule chuckled behind him while Wild rummaged around in his pack. The champion pulled out an apple and handed it forward to Wind.
"Here ya go," he said brightly. "There's plenty more where that came from if you're still hungry."
***
"What's for dinner?" Wind asked.
They had just stopped to make camp for the night. Wild had barely had time to pull out his bedroll, let alone think about food.
"We've only just stopped for the day Sailor," Wars pointed out, pausing as he removed his armour. "Give Wild a minute to rest first. Or if you're so hungry, you could make dinner for everyone?!"
Wind wrinkled his nose. He didn't mind cooking occasionally, but he didn't enjoy it. The young teen preferred to be the one eating the food rather than making it. Wind sat down on his bedroll, crossing his arms and legs.
"I can wait," he grumbled.
Wait he did, as it was a few hours later when Wild finally called everyone for dinner. Sky had offered to help as Wild wanted to try his hand at making Sky's favourite soup. They had collected a hearty pumpkin from the last town they passed specifically for this purpose. With a fluffy brown roll and a bowl of soup each the boys tucked into their supper.
Wind wiped his bowl clean with his last mouthful of bread and stuffed it into his mouth. Licking a little of the soup off his fingers.
"Mmm, that was great. Is there any more?" He asked hungrily, his groaning belly calling out for seconds.
"More?!" Four asked, his eyebrows touching his headband. "I've barely eaten half of mine!"
"Wind are you alright?" Hyrule asked, fixing the sailor with a look of concern.
"I'm just hungry," Wind groaned, stretching the u in hungry to emphasise his point.
"There's plenty left if he wants seconds," Sky assured the others, getting to his feet and reaching for the ladle sticking out of the pot.
"Thanks Sky!" Wind exclaimed, scrambling to his feet and thrusting his bowl in Sky's direction.
The others watched on with a mild mixture of concern and bewilderment. Of all of them Wild usually had the biggest appetite. He snacked while they were on the move, munching apples or small treats to keep up his stamina levels. But Wind's recent eating habits were new and amusing to some.
***
"Can you help me clear up the kitchen Wind?" Malon asked, as she began collecting plates after their evening meal.
"Sure thing Miss Malon," Wind replied, pushing his chair away from the table as he began helping tidy up.
"Careful not to let him near the left overs, or there won't be any!" Time jested, before draining the last of his drink.
The other boys chuckled but the joke was lost on Malon, though she noticed Wind's ears turning pink. As they both made their way out to the kitchen, arms laiden with plates, Malon shut the door behind them with a kick.
"Everything alright Link?" She asked warmly, setting her burden down on the wooden counter top. Malon always tried to call each of the boys by their real name whenever she was alone with them. She found it helped them to relax a little around her.
"Yeah," Wind mumbled, as he set his stack of plates down beside Malons.
"They're not being mean are they?" She asked, already considering giving her husband an earful if this were the case.
"No, not really. They're just teasing me Miss," Wind uttered, eyes downcast as he leant against the kitchen cupboards.
"Teasing you about what sweetheart?" Malon asked gently.
Wind wouldn't normally let people call him pet names. He'd give them a rude gesture he'd learned in the war of eras, or one of the choice words the pirates had taught him. But not Miss Malon. She didn't treat him like a child but she wasn't hard on him either. Wind instinctively felt he could trust her with anything. Perhaps that's why Time liked her so much. Whatever his reasons Wind decided to tell Malon what had been on his mind.
"I've been having pains lately," he sighed.
"Pains?" Malon frowned. "Are you injured?"
Immediately she started looking him over for any wounds she hadn't noticed. But the boy seemed physically fine. And she'd seen him chasing after the coocos earlier in the day.
"Not those kinds of pains. Sometimes I wake up at night and my legs ache, or my back hurts for no reason. I asked Hyrule to look but he couldn't see anything wrong. Though he said I had some scars on my back, but I don't remember having those before. The only thing that helps is food. It doesn't hurt when I eat. In fact eating seems to make the pain go away. So I've been eating more and more. That's what the others were teasing me about, my growing appetite."
Wind kept his eyes on the terracotta tiled floor of the kitchen, while Malon listened. As he explained, her fluttering heart settled again. The more Wind talked the more she understood. Far more than the kid himself did. Malon took a step forward and placed a soft hand on Wind's shoulder. He looked up to find her large blue eyes beaming at him.
"It's okay Link. I think I know what's troubling you," she said softly.
"You do? Am I dying?" Wind asked, almost ready to resign himself to whatever fate Malon was about to describe.
"Heavens no!" She laughed, the sound already beginning to reassure Wind that it wasn't something serious. "You're having a growth spurt Link. The pains you've been experiencing are growing pains. You must be growing quick for your limbs to hurt like that. And the scars on your back are just stretch marks where your body is growing. It's perfectly normal."
"It is?" Wind asked sceptically.
"Absolutely, I imagine all the hearty food Wild has been feeding you has done the trick. Your new found appetite is just your body fuelling your growth hunny," Malon continued to explain.
"Oh, does that mean I'm gonna get taller?" Wind asked, the realisation of what this all meant starting to hit home.
"It certainly does. I'd bet you've started growing already," Malon replied encouragingly.
"D'you think I'll be taller than Wars?" He asked excitedly. Malon laughed, placing a hand over her chest.
"Perhaps some day, but I wouldn't hold your breath. He's a bit older than you after all Link."
"What about Time? Could I be taller than Time?!"
"Hmm," Malon pretended to be thinking hard about the question. "He's quite tall, you'd have to eat lots of vegetables to rival my Link."
"More veggies?" Wind groaned. "You mean like broccoli and stuff?"
"Yep!"
Wind scrunched up his face while he thought, but he couldn't get the image of himself towering over Time and the others out of his head.
"Alright, I guess that's not so bad. Thank you Miss Malon. Can I... can I hug you?" He asked tentatively.
"Of course you can sweetie," she replied warmly, holding her arms out in encouragement.
Wind fell into her embrace. His head pressed against her just below her boosom and Malon tried not to giggle. He squeezed her tightly while Malon gave his mop of blond hair a few light strokes. When Wind started to pull away she let him go.
"Thank you Miss," Wind uttered, an easy smile tugging at his lips.
"You're welcome Sailor," she remarked. "Now go out and enjoy the last of the sunshine. I can finish up in here. In fact, I think the others should come and help. Why don't you tell them all to come on in here, then you can go outside and play." Malon suggested with a conspiratory grin.
Wind liked the idea of subtly getting his own back on his teasing brothers and eagrly opened the kitchen door.
"Hey, Malon says you're all supposed to come help wash up!"
Malon grinned to herself as she picked up the clothes she was mending, then sat herself down in a rocking chair by the back door to the yard. One by one she watched the other boys file into the kitchen and begin washing the dishes and cooking pots Malon had used for dinner. Wind hurried past them all and dashed out the back door into the yard.
"Where's he going?" Legend asked.
"I told him he could go and play," Malon said plainly, her eyes on her needlework.
"Play, but there's chores to be done?" Time asked incredulously.
"Yes indeed, and please keep any leftovers to one side. Wind might be hungry when he comes back inside later. A growing boy like that should have enough to eat don't you think?"
Malon grinned to herself as her remark silenced any further protestation from the Chain. Meanwhile outside, Wind had made his way to the field where Epona and the other horses were.
"I may have only just started growing," he explained to Epona as he fed her a handful of fresh hay. "But some day I'll be taller than the Old Man."

I didn't think hyrule had berlin-
had a silly thought about the links in Mario kart getting a little attached to you, so when you end up in hyrule? well of course they're gonna get close if they can :3
gotta thank @peepthatbish @tomsishere and @xxbuttercup for helping me brainstorm this <33
[masterlist]
Tumblr media
“You think there’s a chance that the shadow could ever send us to my world? I mean, it did bring me here so there’s gotta be at least a small chance right?”
“Yeah, I hope so anyway, I’d love to go to Berlin with you. That always looked like a nice city.”
“Wait tears how-”
“Really? Athens always looked nicer to me.”
“OKAY HOW DO YOU BOTH-”
“Course you’d say that goddess boy.”
“Goddess boy?”
“HEY YOU TWO - you can bicker later, how the FUCK do you know the names of cities in my world?”
That got their attention, with them both turning to me with some clear confusion before it quickly melted away into a… look of devotion? It’s pretty clear that they both know something that I don’t, hopefully they’ll be kind enough to let me in on it soon enough, if I even want to know from the look they’re giving me that is.
“Do you not remember my dove?”
“Or did you not know that we could hear?”
“... That you could hear?”
Hear what exactly, me when I was off of their games? Before I got to hyrule?
Wait.
The places they mentioned - the fact that it’s just them who seem to know - could they be talking about mario kart? If they are then… how much could they hear? Did they hear any of my friends? Did they hear when I was drunk? If they could then, how much do they know about me? There have been times when I’ve been too drunk to remember what I was even saying and if they heard that then… What don't they know about me?
I don’t have a clue how to start processing this, do I even want to stay with them now - the others don’t seem to have a clue are they safe for me to be around. Neither of them are really touching me so, if I’m going to move now is my chance. Just got to hope they don’t notice me trying to move.
“Hey, sundelion, where are you going? We - we finally opened up about that and you - you, please don’t leave.”
There goes my chance then, he’s got a good grip on my hand and he’s not likely to let go. Even if he didn’t it’s not like I could get all that far now that he’s noticed me trying to leave, he’d just use recall on my clothes to bring me right back over. Aaaand now he’s tearing up.
“You’re worried about what we know right? Well I’ll tell you - anything you want to know if we know, just don’t leave please.”
“Tears - what no, No you can’t decide that for the two of us, that’s not fa-”
“Sky… I just - I can’t lose them - I can’t- you know I can’t!”
“But to just tell them everything off of the bat like that.”
“What would you suggest instead, you want their trust right?”
“You two know that I can hear everything you’re saying, you aren’t alone.”
“Mhm, it’s still strange getting used to you being here and being able to hear us too though. Guess we still have old habits.”
Just finding out about the secrets they’ve been keeping seems to have taken a load off of their shoulders, with tears instantly sticking himself onto my side tighter than if he were to fuse our shirts together again. Sky is still a bit more distanced though, like he’s scared of letting his guard down, he’s frowning too. It’s been clear for a while though that sky is hiding something, his saccharine-sweet facade being far too kind even for a hero and with what he’s just said… there’s more to him than he’s let on. Honestly? I’m not sure I want to find out what’s being hidden away.
“[name]? Would you be able to come over here a moment?”
Oh to think time saying that would one day not fill me with dread, it’s a good opportunity to get a bit of time to process everything. And who knows, maybe he’s got some good news about the search to find me a way home, he’s been near obsessed with the idea of getting me home since- well since sky and tears started to get more attached. Does he - is there a chance he knows more than he’s letting on? It’s not a surprise seeing how many other secrets he keeps from the others I guess he promised you the second he knew you knew his past that he wouldn’t keep any from you unless it was for your own safety. Why are you ignoring that? Tears still has his hand holding mine, Sky’s still staring too, just need to try to move; they heard time just as well as I did so I should be able to move. “Wait, do you have to go, he doesn’t sound urgent. Can’t it wait?”
“Old man should learn to wait his turn with you…”
“Knowing him it’s probably a - what was that sky?”Knowing how he was in game it shouldn’t be surprising that he’s acting like this, he was always the link with the snarkiest dialog, even being outright mean at times. It shouldn’t be surprising that the calm sleepy soft boy was a bit of a persona he put up, but it is surprising he’s starting to let it drop. Time didn’t seem to like how clingy they’re getting though, seeing as he decided to come over to get me himself instead of waiting any longer. Helping me up and getting us away from the others.
"So what is it you wanted me for so badly?"
"I think I've found a way to get you home."

My Spirit Tracks designs inspired by LinkedUniverse :)
And facts under the cut!
Tumblr media
I made these for the weekly prompt on the server! I'm still unsure about their nicknames, I liked calling Zelda "Spirit" and Link "Tracks", but later I started calling her "Angel" and Link either "Tracks" or "Engie". Help XD
LEFT: Zelda's design before the adventure. She's the great-great-granddaughter of Tetra and Wind, and they're both black and have curly hair in my designs, with Tetra's skin being a little darker than Wind's. Angel's skin is lighter than Wind's due to having a couple white ancestors between her great-great-grandparents and her. She took her eye color and freckles from Tetra and her nose from Wind!
CENTER: Zelda's design after the adventure. When she got separated from her body, her spirit was pale and light, hwr hair got wavy and floating, and her body lost color due to being "lifeless". When Malladus possessed her, her eyes changed from dark blue to yellow. When Zelda got back into her body, it didn’t regain its original color, much to her desperation. However, she enjoyed helping Link and got an outfit she really loves.
RIGHT: Link! He's the great-great-grandson of Niko and Aryll, who dated Niko as an adult. He's tanned but his ancestors between Aryll and him are mostly white. His design is mostly taken from his engineer clothes, but with the green tshirt and belt from his hero clothes. I originally wanted to roll his sleeves up but noticed how in LU everyone has long sleeves! His eyes are brown, and his personality is pretty much like Aryll's.
Facts!
- Of course they have the same great-great-great-grandparents. This, however, makes them too distant relatives to be considered family.
- Aryll joined the crew a few years after WW. She enjoyed being on the ship and when she turned 12 she decided to join her brother, and later, as an adult, she dated Niko (I headcanon Niko to be at most as old as Wind, but maybe a couple of years younger).
- Zelda's ancestors are all travelers and adventurers. Her parents, in particular, are alive and well but on a journey across the seas to visit the old islands and ancient Hyrule. Link’s parents have done pretty much the same, but Link chose to live with Niko and be a train engineer rather than sailing.
- Zelda hates her new look. She can't stand it at all, and while some makeup helps, she doesn't feel good. She hopes to regain her original appearance some day, mostly her colors, but both colors and hair type would be the best. Link always tells her she's beautiful no matter what, and he's totally sincere. He fell in love with her when she was a spirit, so looks really don't matter, but he too hopes she'll het her original appearance back as he wants to see her truly happy.
- When Zelda got back to her body, she didn't notice she was still that pale. There were so many other things to do, consider, think of. Moreover, she had her glooves on. After defeating Malladus she and Link went back to the castle where they quickly fell asleep due to exhaustion. After some hours, Link woke up to Zelda screaming in terror from her room. He went upstairs and noticed her in tears, staring at a mirror. She saw herself as a monster. Link tried to help, to tell her she's beautiful anyway, and then distracting her talking about adventures and history. This helped her, other than make her order some new clothes based on her adventure.
- In my headcanon Tetra didn't become a white and elegant princess when the king told her she was Zelda. She didn't even get a dress. She just got the information, and was left thinking about her ancestors. All the events of WW happened with the exception of Tetra still being Tetra, dark skin and pirate clothes.
- Yes Zelda's body will slowly recover and she'll eventually regain her original colors! Happy ending :)

It had many names, the Legend of the Dragon's Daughter. Many of which titled it as either a legend or a story. A myth. Some warned of great dangers surrounding the aura of the spirit the legend told about. Other's told of the pure divinity that this being held in the palm of their hand. The grace and adroitness that lined their very pores was spoken of so fondly by the older generations who had heard the story from their own grandparents, who had heard it from theirs and so on and so forth. The older Zora especially spoke of her in such a tone he found himself lending a little belief to the legend.
The story told of a daughter, blessed to the first King and Queen of Hyrule by the Three Goddesses themselves. A princess bestowed with the gift of beauty and grace, a beacon to the budding kingdom. There were even carvings under Hyrule Castle, hidden by toppled boulders, that portrayed her image.
And he would admit. She looked like a being having been blessed by the heavens above.
The carvings had showed an ugly side to an already bitter story. How this princess, this goddess sculpted muse, was struck down by the Demon King as a means to get back at both King Rauru and Queen Sonia. The carvings from there had been too worn down to get a clear reading, but it was enough to pique his interest. Besides, what else did he have to do? Save a princess who had no issues with leaving him to die? Deal with monsters that the people of Hyrule already knew damn well how to deal with and were no longer scared of them? Traverse the depths and all the lightroots he had already found?
At least this way, he may get some new power out of it. If nothing else, at least he had a good story for Traysi.
His first area to investigate was the sky island he woke up on. He could still spot Rauru's spirit in certain areas, understanding the solemn look he seemed to wear much more than he previously did.
It was also much easier to travel around the island this time around, which was a bonus.
When prodded for answers, something complicated flashed over the spirit's face before it settled into a Grim acceptance. One Link had worn too often right after remembering the untimely demise of the Champions.
"She was gravely injured. My precious sunshine. I almost lost her that day." He had spoken in a grave echo, eyes glazed and far off, as if seeing his daughter right in front of him. "My sister, Mineru, had offered her services in an effort to preserve her soul. I am unsure if it had worked. I haven't had the heart to look. I would be such a disappointment to her fiery heart and iron strong will to shine in the brightest ways possible. She was kept in the Temple of Time if you are at all curious."
He was. He was curious. He wanted to see this being for himself. If Rauru spoke so highly of you, it had to be worth it. And it was either this or go save Zelda, and he figured she was fine doing what she currently was for a little while longer.
At least until he looked further into this.
Walking into the temple, he hummed to himself as he looked around, spotting the blue glow of Rauru near a wall closer to the exit. He nodded solemnly when Link approached. The hand that matched his own raised to the wall, pulling forth one of those green symbols that chimed at his hand. The bricks shuffled and moved while Rauru faded out, leaving an unactive construct in front of him. It rattled to life, chirping up at him before recognizing that he was friend and not foe. The Construct explained that he was designed to protect the chasm the Princess was being kept in, but since Rauru had deemed him worthy, he would escort the blond to the place. It wasn't a long journey, not at all, just down a spiraling staircase with stone walls curtained by moss.
But the moment he laid eyes on you, he understood why you were hidden.
You face was lax in such a peaceful expression as your body remained weightless, suspended in a bubble of seafoam green and ocean blue. Your hair was splaying up behind you as if you were underwater with your hands clasped around a hilt of a sword. Even the sword itself was divinity in a blade, glowing a bright white from it's place in front of you. You were clad in white robes trimmed in cold with a stone necklace laced around your delicate neck, those same white earrings hanging from your ears.
You were...ethereal. From the curve of your jawbone to the plump flesh of your cheeks, he was enthralled by your very essence. The curve of your shoulders and the toned flow of your arms, even the dip in your collarbone-- all of it had his eyes trailing every bend and curve of your body.
What he wouldn't do to get a piece of you.
He ached to just touch your sun-kissed skin, to feel it under his palms as he held you. To feel the run of your hips, fingers gripping at the dips that decorated them. To paint them a splattering of blues and purples in a lasting reminder of who he was and what he had done to you. To bite and nibble at the flesh just to hear the kind of cries you would make.
Goddess, he couldn't imagine what your voice sounded like, but he wanted to. He wanted to hear what it sounded like while you breathlessly gasped out. To hear what it sounded like when you cried out his name in pure ecstasy as you withered underneath of him. To hear you give yourself to him entirely.
He wanted to feel your weight on top of him, to experience your hands in his hair (Or cupping his cheeks if he chose to allow himself that vulnerability), to live in your orbit, worshipping you as his one true Goddess.
His eyes landed on the same green symbol that unlocked everything pertaining to the Zonai. He raised his hand in response. It lit up a bright green before fading. The bubble shined brightly before growing, eventually popping and exposing you to the elements. Which why? You were so vulnerable like that? Why not just give you to him directly? You were at risk like this. Couldn't they SEE THAT-
Whatever invisible force keeping you suspended gently laid you on your feet, which were bare, only adorned with an anklet matching your necklace. The tip of the sword in your hand clinked against the stone floor. The echo of it made your eyes, your gorgeous, gorgeous eyes, snap open. If he thought seeing you before was captivating, this was downright...enchanting. The light of your irises positively glowed as your silently gasped, hands tightening around the hilt of the weapon. He rushed to your side as he saw your balance falter, cradling you in his arms as one of your hands came to gently hold your own temple. Even just the sound of your groan made him swallow hard, fighting the blood threatening to rush to his (dick-) cheeks.
You blinked before realizing that he was not someone you knew, pushing him away with much more force than he would expect from someone fresh out of a comatose state. The only thing stopping him from wrapping his arms around you once more was the tip of the very blade now prodding at his neck. He swallowed.
"Who are you?" You demanded, hold on the weapon shaking just a tad.
(Which was so adorable. How someone like you, all soft skin and doe eyes, expected to make someone like him, rugged scars and gnarled morals, bend to you was beyond him.)
(But he'd love to see you try anyway.)
"Where are my people?! Or Queen Sonia and King Rauru?!" Oh, you were so cute.
He wanted to decimate that innocence you carried.
With a careful hand, he gently pushed the blade aside with the back of a hand, letting a smug smirk settle on his lips. Your cheeks immediately reddened as your attention remained on him. Just as he liked it, he decided then and there. He liked having your attention (and only yours) on him. But having you acting so hostile towards him just wouldn't stand. But you didn't know any better, not yet anyway, so he'd let it slide.
He gently explained that you had been fatally wounded protecting your people, something that your parents were endlessly proud of you for-- even in death. While it was a direct shot in his, admittedly lacking, heart to be the one to tell you of the passed time and the death of your parents (The sacrifice of your father and the betrayal that lead to your mother's death), he was evidently the best and only option. He understood, on an intimate level, what it was like to loose so much time, healing yourself, while the rest of the world carried on, carrying the loss of friends and family with it. He knew what it was like. It had to be why you two were so perfect for each other.
He held you as your cried, soothing down your hair as your tears (Which should never have been shed) soaked his shoulder. While he was never interested in defeating the Demon King for Zelda's sake, he may have just found another motive.
One much more worthy of his time and attention.
<><><><>
When he first saw you, he understood why you were hidden, on a surface level.
He understood why much more on a deeper, more intimate one now.
You were so bubbly. Even when faced with the devastation of your home, you remained optimistic, greeting the constructs that roamed around happily. Bestowing your cherished kisses (Those should belong to him.) upon their cold exterior while wiping them free of dirt. Even the wildlife that had squawked and charged at him crooned and chirped under your touch, hankering for the scratches you gifted them under the chin. You saw beauty in the overrun weeds and fauna, taking great interest in the new species that had popped up.
When he took to the mainland, via shrine travel because he would be damned before you got down the same way he originally did, it seemed like you couldn't see everything fast enough. You loved exploring the caves, despite the Like-Likes baring their disgusting teeth and innards (Which he quickly disposed of), ached to get as close as possible to the chasms (Which wasn't very as he refused to risk you falling in), yearned to traverse the mountain peaks and snow dunes of the mainland (Which killed him on the inside since didn't you know how dangerous those were?!).
You were quite the adventurer, full of inexperienced naivety and unpoised curiosity. The exact opposite of the princess he knew. He forgot you were royalty have the time with your mannerisms, nothing like Zelda. Which was so refreshing.
If only you weren't so fragile. He would never admit it (Too your face at least) that he's thought of just tying you down and keeping you in his (He saw it as your shared home these days) home. It was on the far outskirts of Tarrey town (Far enough no one would hear your cries for help should it come to that) with a pasture out front so you could keep a horse nearby as a friend (Should you behave).
(It wouldn't be a young, steady horse. No, most likely an older horse who had long since retired from any sort of running or getaway attempts.)
He just needed a way to keep you stationary.
And it hit him like a Hinox. You two were walking around Hateno (It was deemed safe and far enough from Tarry Town that it was still new to you), when you stopped, let out a high enough squeal his ears pinned to his head as his head snapped towards you. You were always in his peripheral, but now you were right in front of him with his hands quickly holding your arms, checking you over for injury. There were none, but you were beaming like someone had handed you a million rupees (He would. He could. He'd do it just for you), instead redirecting his attention with a call of 'Link, look!'. He had followed your line of sight just as you began squeezing his own hands, expecting you to be aweing over a cow or goat or, Goddess forbid, a dog again (You very nearly took one of stable dogs home last time). But you weren't.
And that's when it hit him.
You were loosing any semblance of a mind you had over a small infant, strapped to their mother's back by a wrap of some sort. The babe smiled at your reaction, letting out a small cascade of giggles that had you squealing in pure joy.
That was it.
The answer was right there! How could he have been so blind?! It was right there. If he gave you a baby, his baby no less, you would have no choice but to remain dormant. You would have to stay right where he put you to not only protect yourself, but to your protect your child. He had no doubt you would do it. You were too kind, too naive, for any other option. Once you figured out you were carrying his child, you'd fall for thing, claiming it as your own before it was any bigger than an apple seed.
And from then on it would just be a matter of formalities. You'd be his for the rest of your lives.
Exactly what he wanted.
Exactly what had led up to this moment. You were nothing but a babbling, crying mess underneath of him, pulling at the roots of his hair as he folded your legs against your chest. You were pleading with him, some mindless demand that he wasn't even sure you knew what you were asking, but it was background noise. He was too focused on watching the way he disappearing into your cunt, a milky sheen coating the shaft of his cock as heavy dollops of past loads dripped past your gaping opening. It was mesmerizing the way your body reacted to him, sucking him in and fighting him every time he pulled out. Even on an unconscious level, you ached for him. Not nearly as much as he breathed for you, but that would come with time. He knew it would. He'd ensure it.
The cry of his name on your lips had the coil in his gut steadily tightening as his pace picked up, thoroughly hammering your insides. He needed to make sure he was prodded right against your cervix for this to work. He needed to get this right. He needed to father any and all of your children. Starting here and now.
Whether you knew about it or not.
You had babbled something about him pulling out too long ago, but he had...distracted you with long laps at your clit and soft nipples along your thighs. He didn't even think of truly ruining you until you were clenching your thighs around his head and drenching his bottom jaw, too gone to properly process anything going on around you.
And he'd keep it that way.
His thumb, rough and calloused, rubbed harsh little circles into your clit, feeling it pulse in time with his ministrations. You whimpered beneath him, chest arching up to push against his own as you cried out, squeezing around him. You were positively milking him for every drop he had to offer.
There was no way you didn't want his children. Not with the way you were clenching around him as he jutted as far as he could go, filling your womb once more. You laid boneless beneath him, hands dropping to hang around his neck as he took a moment to breath. Your cunt spasmed once more and his cock twitched inside of you.
"You're not done yet, are you, Princess?" He purred into your ear, making it flicker as he rolled his hips against yours, even if overstimulation rocked his entire system in a flash of shot nerves.
None of that mattered to him. He had a mission. A mission he would do anything to accomplish.
Anything to keep you as his.
Yes, the reader was holding the Light Sword. Yes, I know that's not how you get it. I just thought it would be a cool tidbit bc YES, Sage seems like the type to get turned on by a hot princess threatening with a sword.

if you're just looking for sketchy stuff-
how do you think totk!moon reacted waking up post arm removal /losing sun?
because canonically link has no reaction to anything and I imagine that wouldn't be the case for moon.
(+ bonus question- did the celestial siblings already know each other before the events of totk? are they siblings? very curious about the au)
Tumblr media
Waking up with all your clothes stolen and your arm replaced by one that previously belonged to a magic sky furry would piss me off too tbh
The reality of what happened only really hit Moon when he picked up the decayed master sword - but all he can do is press on and hope that somehow that flash of yellow light had meant that Sun is still alive.
... and because he didn't have his hat when he woke up I just wanted to draw him finding one in a chest because I felt weird only showing him bald lmao
But for your question! Yep! Breath Of The Wild still happened, and they are twins (ramble under the cut)
However, due to the king being an ass of a father (yes, it's Creator), he had decided that Moon would be separated from Sun at birth. They were aware they're siblings, but were kept apart enough to not really feel much of a connection.
When the two were born, the Sheikah had told the king and queen that Sun inherited his mother's power of light, while Moon had not. Terminal illness took their mother a few years after, and the king decided that Sun needed to develop his powers as they knew the Calamity was coming and his mother was no longer there to defend the kingdom.
Moon was pushed towards knighthood so he could serve the kingdom and no longer "distract Sun". The king basically just dropped him off at the house of the top knight in Hyrule and ordered him to train the young child. Moon was never treated as a prince or even as a brother to Sun again from that point forward. He was damn good at swordfighting though 👍
The Master Sword claimed Moon as its new master, and finally the king cared about Moon's existence again. He was to be appointed as Sun's personal knight. Sun... did not like this. He and Moon had become so estranged that Sun just felt like he was babysat and watched even more than he already was.
But Moon proved to be very devoted to protecting Sun, and the events of the Breath Of The Wild memories play out. Sun starts warming up to him after Moon saved his life, and the two slowly start rebuilding their sibling bond from that point forward :]
They are now inseparable and absolutely devoted to protecting eachother
(except they get separated twice lol, once during the events of BOTW, and again now)
Thank you SO MUCH for this ask though, I'm so happy people are interested in this au!! It is so very dear to me

What the Chain thinks about a Modern! Reader using slang/meme references:
Part 3
Legend
• He didn't know what Modern! Reader was saying either when they first met. He had a blue screen moment and just pretended that reader was talking to air or something. No thoughts just vibes moment.
• Despite having some slight difficulty at the start, he does catch up to what reader is saying.
• He doesn't really care all that much for the slang, but he does find the more creative insults and cursing from Modern! Readers world interesting.
• He doesn't use modern slang as much as Wild or Hyrule, but he does use it when he deems it worthy enough.
• He's also another one to translate to Time and Twilight about the terms.
• He also has his gremlin streak where he goes and teaches the older lot the wrong meanings of the terms, but he's more casual about it. He incourages Wild and Wind the most. He'll stay perfectly quiet when he hears Wild/Wind give the wrong translation too.
• Like staded previously, Warriors and him make bets on Time when it comes to readers slang. It doesn't just stop there, if Warriors has enough rupees they make bets on anyone that genuinely has a hard time catching what reader says.
• Now I don't see him as a fan of the meme references either. He probably thinks that people in Modern! Reader's world have really broken humour or that they're just dumb.
• He's the one to face palm in the background whenever Wild and Hyrule try to recreate/make their own memes.
• Some memes he actually relates to. It's more on the darker side of the genre though as well as being an adult and hating adulting.
• I'd give this prickly little man a 7/10. He should join Wild and Hyrule in their shenanigans to complete triple threat. It would've bumped him up to an 8.5 or 9/10.
Four
• I can see Four being the third quickest to learn and understand Modern! Reader's slang.
• Him hogging the braincells of the Chain, he successfully uses it to disect the sentence and figure out what the new/interesting word means.
• He does, however not share this information for his own amusement.
• Having him hangout with Wind the most, they tend to use Modern! Reader's slang in their casual conversations to spite the old people.
• The colours however see it differently, I'll elaborate.
• Red is infatuated with the modern day language. He finds it interesting and unique as it creates a more casual and comforting atmosphere when Modern! Reader talks. He definitely looks at reader with sparkles in his eyes.
•  Blue kinda side eyes the new slang for a while before he gives in to the others interest in it. He finds it to be a more challenging when Modern! Reader uses too much in one sentence. It's silly to him that people have become lazy enough to just decide to shorten words as a whole. But he does appreciate the flow of how it sounds.
•  Green had a mild reaction to slang than most of the others. He does feel the same sentiment about the casual atmosphere that it creates but he finds it more cute in a way.
•  Vio caught interest the first time a slang word slipped from Modern! Reader's mouth. He would be the one to analyse and break down what reader says before restructuring it to make sense to them. It's like a guilty pleasure for him to do it, gives his mind a little bit of work to do.
• Four thoroughly enjoys the memes from readers world. His favourites are those that start arguments amongst the Chain. The flat earther memes.
• Four would be a 9/10 he's open minded to diversity and encourages it.
Wind
• Wind has everyone beat with how quickly he learned Modern! Reader's slang.
• Since he's still pretty young his mind still absorbs new information ten times faster than everyone else. So, I believe he'd be the quickest to learn and adapt to the way reader talks.
• He doesn't want reader to feel alienated in the group and tries to make it comfortable for them by learning things from the modern day. (My sweet baby)
• It quickly becomes a habit for him to use slang when talking, not just with reader, but with everyone else. He doesn't care if they don't understand and he'll even use it to his advantage.
• He called Time a boomer without facing any repercussions.
• Baby boy baby was surprised when Modern! Reader called him that and he was the first to ask about it. After readers explanation that its a meme from their world, Wind decides its time to learn every meme reference that reader knows and to use it to antagonise the old man.
• Wind jumps to every opportunity to make a meme reference once he's enlightened about them.
• Wind would be everyone's main person to translate - emphasis on the would be. But he gets carried away with his translations of the slang.
• Overall I'd say that he also a 9/10.

Hi! Im new to requesting here so i hope im not late or sending you something thats against your rules. I also hope something like this hasn't been requested before.
Could i request some semi-romatic chain x reader (platonic for Wind because he's baby) where the reader needs to go do something (example: shopping, hunting, scouting, etc) and they need one of the links to come with them because they aren't the best at fighting/aren't familiar with this hyrule. So the way they get their attention is by calling for their "Pretty boy". Bonus points if the chain(again platonic for Wind) had a crush on reader!
Idk if you've seen that tiktok audio/video where someone goes, "Pretty boy, with me I say!" "..." "..." "Oh! I'm pretty boy?" "Yes! That came out a bit too quickly-" "...pretty?"
All i can think of is basically reader accidentally calling the link for you choice "pretty boy" subconsciously. The reader could either play it off and the link could tease them or reader can go all in and continue calling said link "pretty boy".
Hopefully that makes sense and/or isn't too much? Also if possible could you make the reader gn? If you don't do it already? Also if doing all of the chain is too much you can just choose specific one's, i dont mind who you pick. Anyways thanks for even reading my request and i hope you have a good day!
I'm happy to do this! This is such a good idea and I'm excited to write it. If I didn't do it the qay ypu hoped let me know!
I went for vague crushing vibes on all of them, but Wind's. If this isn't what you had in mind please let me know!

Pretty boy (chain)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Chain x reader (seperate), Wind & reader
Rating:
Summary: you call the boys 'pretty boy' these are the results
Warnings:

-------
Four
You don't necessarily love going shopping. You don't hate it either, but it's not your definition of fun. So obviously you want someone to come with you.
Four is always fun to have around. He's sweet, and he's surprisingly good at haggling down prices.
"Do you need anything else?" Time asks you, eyeing you over and counting off your weapons for self defense.
"Not really." You say, turning towards the path.
You observe the dirt road before turning your head and calling over your shoulder, "Come on, pretty boy, let's go."
The entire group goes still and silent. They're all staring at you.
Why are they staring?
You replay your words. Oh- shit. You called Four pretty boy.
Well- he is a pretty boy but still!
You turn back to the group, taking in their confused expressions before your eyes land on Four.
Well.... You might as well commit.
"Well? Are you coming, pretty boy?" You ask, flashing a smile to show the playful intent behind the question.
Four blinks a few rides. And then points to himself slowly.
"Me?" He asks.
"Yeah, c'mon, pretty boy."
Four gives a little half fought off smile. "Pretty boy?"
"Do you not like the name?"
"No- I like it."
"Good. Come on then, I could use the company." You say.
Four follows you. It's hard to miss the little giddy pep in his step when he seems almost inclined to giggle.
You'll have to call him pretty boy more often!
Hyrule
"You should take someone with you if you're going to the dungeon. It's better with help." Time says evenly, "And take plenty of fariea and potions. Okay?"
"Okay." You say, "Let me grab my things and I'll bring Hyrule."
"Good idea."
You go to your little space in the clearing, grabbing your bag and making sure you have plenty of equipment. You don't like having to rely on other people all the time. No one does.
You finish getting yourself ready before you turn to Hyrule, "Comr on Pretty boy, you're with me.
"Did you just call Hyrule 'pretty boy'?" Legend asks, a sly look crossing his face.
"No!" You defend, face flushing as embarrassment crawls up your spine.
"It's okay!" Hyrule assures quickly, his own ears tinging with a blush. "I like that name!"
"You do?"
"Yeah!"
You smiles a little, glad he isn't upset about it. "Well... good!"
"Soo.... you think I'm pretty?" Hyrule asks, and his grin is anything but innocent.
"Maybe?"
"I knew it! I'm definitely your favorite."
"Good god." You groan, but you can find it in you to really be upset.
If only they weren't all teasing you the rest of the day. Oh, well.
Legend
You find yourself stuck on middle watch, which is the Worst. Capital W and all. Like for first watch you stay up late, last you wake up early.
But middle watch? You get woekn up and then get to try to go back to sleep later.
Gross.
Maybe someone is awake?
You scan the group, finding what is to be expected at this point.
Time sleeps as still as a log, hand one over the other on his chest.
Warriors sleeps like a soilder, light and still but heavy enough all at once.
Wild, Twilight, and Wind are all in a tangled bunch of limbs. Though to your surprise they managed to pull Four and Hyrule into their cuddle puddle tonight.
Sky sleeps all sprawled out and half out of his sleeping roll.
Then you land on Legend- who seems to be trying to get comfortable. Is he awake?
One way to find out.
"Hey! Pretty boy!" You stage whisper at him.
You don't know what possessed you to call him that. But you did, amd you don't think you're wrong.
He actually sits up, looking to you. "What?"
"Oh good, you're awake!"
"No shit. What did you call me?"
"Uh-" you pause, having hoped he would either not care or not notice. "Pretty boy?"
"That's what I thought. You got a crush on me?"
"I can think you're pretty without having a crush!" You hiss out, face flushing with embarrassment.
Maybe he is right.
"Bummer." Legend says, "Here I was thinking you had fallen head over heels for me. Since I'm your pretty boy.c
"Oh my god. Just forget I said it."
"Nope!" Legend says.
"Whyyyyy?" You groan.
Sky
You are over again pulled into upkeep chores that the quest requires. Which, whatever but you wish you weren't stuck on laundry today.
Laundry sucks with only the river, soap, and sun to do it.
Thankfully, you have Sky to help you. He's such a sweetheart that you really do appreciate his help.
So you settle at the river with the pile of clothes and some soap and resign yourself to the repetitive chore.
You cast a look to where Sky is and call out within much thought. "Come on, pretty boy! Might as well get started."
Sky and Twilight both go still before turning their eyes to you. Both looking fairly bewildered.
Oh. You said the 'pretty boy' part out loud. Whoops.
At least it's just Twilight and Sky here. They're not too bad about holding things against you. Usually.
"Me?" Sky questions, looking fairly confused but maybe just a little flattered.
His ears have a hint of pink on them.
How cute!
"Yeah?" You say, but it comes out a lot more like a question then he'd like.
"I've never been called that before."
"Real? Like- not ever?"
"Never.... I like it, though. Please keep calling me that?"
"Sure, if you like."
"I would."
You smile softly, bit your eyes go back to the laundry. "Well come on, pretty boy. We still have laundry to get done."
Time
You'd ask why you're the one who's always in charge of day to day things like groceries, supply runs, socializing, and all of that.... But you've seen the others try. Some are better in these aspects then others- but you are still the best.
So you're in charge of it.
You've already split the work and have the group gathered around you to hand out the assignments.
"Alright, Four, Warriors, and Sky, you're on weapon inventory. Wild, Hyrule, and Twilight's, you're on market duty. Wind and Legend, you're on laundry."
The others all share looks with their task partners.
"Where am I?" Time asks.
You give a smile when you speak, though you swear the nickname is an accident! "Your with me, pretty boy."
Silence.
Complete and utter silence.
Shit.
You said that out loud.
"Did you just-" Time starts.
You cut him off with a tight voice, "Can we please pretend I didn't?"
Warriors just laughs at you, the ass.
"I didn't say I hated it." Time says simply, though you can see the shit eating gleam in his eyes.
Fuck.
"Great. Well, Time, we're on dishes. "
"I thought I was ypur pretty boy."
You feel your face heat up, but you can even care. Why does je have to tease you? Your heart can't take it.
He's so handsome when he's being a menace. Which is a big problem.
Well also the whole he's being a menace thing. That's a bigger problem.
"You're just being mean to (Y/n)," Twilight says helpfully.
"How? I'm just asking why I went from pretty boy to Time."
You just groan, pulling your hands to cover your face.
This is going to be a long day.
Twilight
Why you're left to babysit the stubbornest Links is still beyond you, and yet here you are for the umpteenth time- babysitting them.
Twilight, Warriors, Legend, Wild, and Wind are scattered about the clearing in groups of one or two.
Thankfully, Wild and Wind are on opposite sides of the area and not collaborating to cause trouble.
Unfortunate you hear trouble before you see it.
"Fan out, get low! Pretty boy with me!"
They all turn to look at you as they drop into crouches.
Oh good. You called Twilight pretty boy. And no one knows who you meant. Great.
You groan because that's easier than dealing with feelings.
"You uh, were looking at me when you said- that name.... am- Am I pretty boy?" Twilight asks, and his voice is a little too thick to be played off.
"Yes. Now get over here we don't have much time."
Twilight does, quickly making his way to your side.
He gets there in time to throw a shield over your heads when the arrow start falling. What a gentleman!
When it's all over you can already feel his eyes on you.
"So uh... I'm pretty boy?"
"Yeah, guess you are." You answer him.
"You think I'm pretty?" Twilight asks, and it's both hopeful and heart breaking to hear.
How can he not see that?
"Of course I do. I have eyes." You say, playing off any and all other emotions.
"So... I'm your pretty boy then?"
You just sigh. At least he's having fun. "If you like to be, sure."
Warriors
You actually don't mind going to town to grab supplies, what you fo hate is pickings who goes with you. Sometimes there's no problem, but sometimes the others get pouty if they don't get to go.
Somethings about socialization? Who knows.
But as you're in Warrior's hyrule, he's coming with.
"Alright, pretty boy, let's go." You say as you turn to look at the captain.
Oh, you said that out loud. Shit.
Maybe he missed it?
"What did you just call me?" Warriors asks, and he looks half confused half endeared.
"Uhhhhh-" You blue screen with nearly no idea what's happening.
But you do register embarrassment blooming.
Warriors takes on a smug look as he asks, "You called me pretty boy, right?"
"Yeah. So?" You ask, failing miserably at keeping your cool.
"You think I'm a pretty boy?" He asks, and you swear his ears are tinkered pink.
Why are his ears pink?
Is he- flattered?
"Yeah... You're pretty. You're a boy. Seems pretty straight forwards."
"That's not usually a name I like."
"Oh. Then I'm sorry I called you that."
Warriors shakes his head and gives you a soft look. Earnest and hinging almost on smitten "Actually- I like when you say it."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"Well, come on then pretty boy." You say, flashing a smile.
"Lead on, (Y/n)."
He links his arm through yours eaaily.
Wild easily.
You find yourself watching Wild as he crouches and waits patiently for the perfect shot. You've been running low on meat lately and you're out here to aid his hunt.
Does ot usually take so long?
You can't tell.
But you would like to have a break from squatting a little behind him.
"Wild." You whisper just barley audible.
He dosen’t seem to here you.
"Wild."
No answer.
"Link?" You call again.
He stil dosen’t respond.
So you try again, "Pretty boy?" You say, words falling out of yourouth without thought or permission.
He stiffens, head whipping around. "(Y/n)?
"Are we even seeing animals to hunt?" You ask softly.
"No- wait- what?"
"How much longer are we going yo sit here? It's been like two hours."
"Twenty minutes. And did you call me pretty boy?"
"Oh- yeah, I was hoping you wouldn't notice."
"Oh... Why?"
"I was thinking we should move to a better place to hunt?"
"Oh... Okay."
"Any ideas on where?" You ask.
"Uh- maybe a hill.... Why did you call me pretty boy?"
"It just slipped out. I won't call you that again though, promise."
"No... Uh- I like the name.... I just don't think I've been called that before."
You have a harder time believing that. Wild really is pretty, has je eveb seen his own face?
"That's surprising. "
"It is?"
"Yeah. It is."
"Well.... I like the name, at least from you." Wild says again, his ears tinged pink and a barley hidden smile present.
"Yeah? You don't want Legend calling you that?"
"Not really."
"That tracks, pretty boy. Come on let's move to a better vantage point."
"Okay." Wild says, and you swear if he were a hardened hero and traveler, he'd be giggling.
Wind
You don't mind being put on foraging duty, especially not when the sailor is your companion. Wind has always been so fun to be around. The kid is like a brother to you almost.
He's a few feet away, digging through a mess of greenery that seems pretty weird to you, but he seems happy. And thats good.
"Hey, (Y/n)?" Wind asks, turning his eyes to you.
"Yeah, kid?"
"Are these those poisonous berries Wild showed us?"
You squint as you scrutinize the purple berries Wind holds up. They definitely look similar.
"I'm not sure. Better leave them alone to be safe, though."
Wind sighs, "I thought you'd say that."
"Then why even ask, pretty boy?"
You don't know why you said it, but you did, and he's a cute kid. So whatever. It's honest, at least.
"What?"
"What part are you confused about, kiddo?"
"Why did you call me pretty boy? Is that an insult?"
"No, Wind, it's not an insult. Not from me at least."
"Oh. Good!"
You bite back the laugh that bubbles up from your throat, trying not to he overtly rude. His fave is definitely one you'll remember.
Wind looks pleased, and maybe a little embarrassed. But the glee behind his eyes is genuine.
"So, I'm your pretty boy?"
"Sure kid." You say, trying again not to laugh.
He's cute, in that kid way with the too big grin.
"The others are gonna be SO jealous!"
You do laugh this time, warm and bright, and glad to see him happy.
"Be nice, Wind."
"Never!" He calls as he starts foraging again.

okay but like the wind waker man. that intro. so many questions. we all know ocarina is dark but man wind waker just straight up said "and then they all drowned and the gods never came to help" hello??? how many years. how many decades. how much time did the adult hero of time buy for them? which child of zelda’s was daphnes? her son? grandchild? great-grandchild? when he stared at the rising waters and realized nothing was going to save them, his kingdom, did he think it was retribution for all the war?
has it really been all that long? yes and also no. the lines are so blurred. the zora are birds and the kokiri are koroks and they had time to Get That Way but everywhere you look the old Hyrule, the Hero of Time himself, they're both all over the place. the deku tree is implied to be the sprout from the adult timeline but honestly who knows. the golden goddesses are statues on islands somewhere and there was a tower built to test who came after but…who and how and why? what was the tower of the gods even for? how did they know they’d need it? at what point did they accept the hero of time was never coming back so they’d probably need to train a new one?
and oh my god, that outset island tradition. “dress your kids in green and give ‘em a sword and pray to the gods they’ll have the courage to cast down evil.” link rolls his eyes at it but he wears them to appease grandma. the revered clothes of the hero have had time to pass into “stupid traditional getup” territory. how many “failed Links” were there before Aryll’s brother? what evil could those children have possibly stricken down? the monsters in the woods?
“what became of that kingdom? none remain who know” like goddamn. say what you want about the hero’s shade in twilight princess. but at least the traumatized ghost got to meet one of his descendants and pass on his songs and his knowledge, even if that knowledge was only of war and death and combat. in the wind waker he’s a statue. an element of a legend mentioned once or twice by the last remaining holdouts of the past—holdouts who so badly want him to return, view him as the solution over all else, that they never pause to consider any other option. there are stained glass windows of the seven sages in the master sword’s chamber that are never mentioned. there is so much that is never mentioned.
nobody knows what the fuck anybody is talking about. link doesn’t know old hylian. tetra is running around the high seas (as a pirate. she and her retainers are now pirates. how did things get that way) with a piece of the damn triforce around her neck and she doesn’t know who ‘princess zelda’ even is. the juxtaposition between ganondorf, older and tired and wiser but still hell-bent on ruling hyrule even if it is a dead land full of nothing and no one, and tetra, a zelda that knows nothing, asking why he’s laughing and calling him insane. because hyrule’s dead. she has no frame of reference for his longing, or what he found so great about this sunken kingdom.
and this is framed as a good thing. the king of red lions thinks it’s better not to let either of the kids in on the loop until tetra nearly dies for lack of knowledge. daphnes nolhansen hyrule brought “the hero” back just to end ganon, and hyrule with him. was the plan always to let the sea fall in on him? maybe. i don’t know. but he rejects zelda’s plea with him to take him with them to the land that will be the new hyrule, because “it will not be hyrule. it will be your land” and that still gets me. he thinks the best thing to do with his kingdom, Hyrule, the kingdom of a whole hell of a lot of irl people’s childhoods, is for it to wash away. he wants the kids to live for the future and they do and they will and they name it hyrule anyway in his honor but he never gets to see it.
anyways i’m still mad everybody got butthurt over “trains in a zelda game” like come on now

Fair Thoughts
Just got back from the fair with my friends, so I wanted to share some LU thoughts on if THEY went to a fair!
Roles:
Legend - The Prepared One: Dramamine, sunscreen, water, painkillers, anti-acids and a map are all to be found with this guy. He's the one with his phone timer set to remind everyone to reapply sunscreen and hydrate, and not only does he know his way around, he always knows where to get the best deals on food, what stalls will be quietest at what times and where they are, and generally is your go-to guide. He's not much for most of the rides, but he's got extra pockets for all the stuff that will fall out of yours. He enjoys carnival games and is uncannily good at them (maybe too good). He comes across as the chill sort most of the time, but if you do get him on some of the crazier rides, he screams bloody murder.
Time - The Dad: He is wearing the most obnoxiously loud shirt he could find, if only to make sure the rest can always find him. Despite the loud shirt, his sunglasses say FBI and his face says "don't touch me". He's the crowd clearer to help the kids get where they want, using his broad shoulders to his advantage and his scary dad privileges to make others stay out of his way. He's not much for most of the rides, but likes to dare some of the more cagey/up-tight boys to try new things. He likes the carnival games as well, and he and Legend bet each other who can do better. The few rides he does go on, he somehow maintains a straight face (he is absolutely Freaking Out behind his shades though).
Twilight - Former 4-H Kid: Twilight is the one that drags everyone else into the various exhibits and animal barns to look at the things people have made and entered in competitions. He's sure to ensure everyone in his party knows proper barn etiquette and tends to strike up conversations with the farming folk there about any old thing. The animals love him, the stall keepers enjoy his company, and he's generally a delight to have around. He also tends to drag everyone to the local 4-H building to see anything his little siblings might have made, or just enjoy whatever is there. He likes the shooter games at the fair, but shoots like a man who knows what he's doing and so loses more than he wins (them things are rigged). He does get pretty excited if he does win things though. He enjoys the rides alright, but only if someone comes with him, since he says they're boring to ride alone. He will hold your hand if you're scared, and he tends to howl a bit when he get's really pumped up on the rides.
Sky - The Adrenaline Junky: Sky is the one who drags them to most of the rides in the carnival section. He's perfectly happy to let Twilight take them to the barns first, and totally enjoys the animals and seeing the home-made crafts and the like, but he's really here to ride each and every one of the craziest rides he can. The others are a bit intimidated by his daring (no one should be that eager to get thrown around upside down) but try as he might to explain the rides in a way that makes them sound manageable, he just makes them sound like a torture experience. He sucks at most of the skill games, but is competitive enough to still try. He's a good group member though, and tends to let the others take the lead and call for breaks when they need them, and checks in frequently if they haven't in a while. He pushes them to try new things, but respects hard no's when he gets them, and if an experience is too much for someone, is always there to help them find their feet again afterwards.
Hyrule - The One Who Keeps Getting Lost: It's not intentional, but this guy has to have his phone on full blast just so he knows it when someone texts him, because he is constantly getting separated from the rest of the group. He only needs to stop for a second to look at something and then they're gone, and he's not great at speaking up loudly if he needs to slip away for the bathroom or a drink. They try and keep him at the center of the group, but nothing works. Luckily, when they come to the merchant's stalls and whatnot, he and Legend have similar taste, so they tend to stick close and admire things together (or haggle, legend's the better haggler but Hyrule has stupid good luck). He's not much for skill games, but games of chance or anything that requires guessing usually works out well in his favor. He's not super big on most of the rides, but he enjoys some of the tamer ones, and is working his way up to some of Sky's sort of rides.
Four - The Craftsman: Like Twilight, Four enjoys going to see displays of skill or wandering around the mercantile. He's not typically able to ride most of the rides (he hates it) but talking with fellow craftsmen helps make up for it. He's got an uncanny skill for finding dropped tickets (or maybe stealing them?) and always has some to spare, which he'll use to bargain for favors from his brothers. When he can get on rides, he typically prefers the sorts that make your stomach churn, but isn't fond of spinning ones. he likes being up high (not because he's short! just because!) and honestly, genuinely enjoys the Ferris Wheel.
Wild - Mom Friend: He smuggled lunch in inside of his backpack (which is secretly a cooler) and he has sports drinks and wrapped sandwiches for everyone. Because of medical reasons, he's not really able to go on most of the rides, but he has his camera out nearly the whole time taking pictures and videos of the rest of the group. They will all be receiving prints; no they don't have to ask. He likes the skill games, and while he's not good at them, he does tend to eventually win most of them after a couple rounds. He's a great shot when it comes to throwing things at moving targets, for some reason. He also is forever running into people he knows and striking up conversations, but is pretty good about moving on when his group wants him to.
Warriors - Fashion Model: You know when you go to a local event and most people are dressed for comfort, but then there are those small groups where it's clear they took it to the nines? Where I live it's mostly the Alt Kids (Goth/Punk/Rocker/Scene), but in Hyrule, who knows! Warriors though is the one person on the team who is always picture ready and rediculously put together for a man wandering around under the sun all day surrounded by sweat, grease and sticky children. He doesn't let his looks stop him having fun though, and participates in whatever his brothers would like. He's more here for the social interaction than the games or the exhibitions or the rides, and he's taking plenty of photos the whole time, even though he knows Wild is as well. He's happy to let Sky drag him on the craziest of rides, has the time of his life in the horse barn, especially when they find the Clydesdales (he's a horse girl, fight me!), and he's probably blowing more of his paycheck in making bets with Legend than he's losing to the various games he ends up playing. Man's just here to have fun though, and he is :)
Wind - A Kid: Yeah, I know, it goes without saying, but let's be real! Wind is having the ultimate fair experience with the rest, especially as the youngest in their group! He doesn't actually have to pay for anything, but gets to enjoy all the rides, games and chaos he could want. He teases his older brothers into joining him in new things, taking dares, or generally looking stupid. He's pretty good at staying with the group, and listening to legend's directions or Time's instructions, but he still isn't afraid to speak up if he sees something along the way that he'd like them to do. He's pretty bored when it comes to the booths and stalls of things to buy, but willing to go along with interactive exhibits (which Twilight loves pulling him towards). He does help keep an eye on Hyrule, and he'll absolutely let Sky take him on anything he's allowed to ride (and some he's not)
There we are! That's all of them! I think I had some other thoughts in the car, but I'm too tuckered now to actually remember what they were LOL
