according to your very reliable source, the ritual was only supposed to summon one (1) demon.

but inhabiting your space now was not one, but two demons.

you tried to calm yourself down first before either of them could fully realize what had happened. maybe they were a package deal—unable to summon one without the other tagging alone, and you could ask them nicely to go back so you could summon the one you wanted. or maybe it didn't matter. the reason why you wanted to summon a demon didn't change just because there were two now, anyway, so as long as they were bound to you (at least, that was what was supposed to happen), you could make them do your bidding and promise to send them back right after.

but of course, none of that happened. for starters, your new housemates abhorred each other, and your so-called binding had no effect on them. it seemed you had, instead of summoning a particular demon, opened up a portal of some sort that the two happened to come across, which meant that you held no power over them.

to make it all worse, they were both completely deranged.

you're not sure what you were expecting from a demon, but it was foolish of you to think they didn't deal in trickery and torment. dazai was a master in both, somehow able to even make an invitation to stay in his torture chamber enticing (until you, fortunately, snapped out of it and realized just what that would entail). chuuya, though he never threatened you, had a permanent sneer on his face, and from the little conversation you overheard between him and dazai, was also no stranger to violent, cruel tactics.

it didn't matter why you wanted to summon them. dazai finds it silly anyway, whether it was for revenge or curiosity, the fact that you believed you could do such a thing and still be alive by the end of it was almost cute, and chuuya had made sure you knew how angry he was that you thought you could boss him around. regardless, they were here now, and...they were refusing to leave.

in retrospect, it was quite obvious when they were starting to take interest in you. dazai had always been a little too interested in you, apart from studying your clipped nails, which were completely different from his own claw-like ones, and constantly pointing out how small and human you looked, dazai found everything about you entertaining. he especially liked to make you frustrated, turning off your computer in the middle of your game, mixing salt into your sugar, hiding away your phone—little things that ruined your day,

chuuya, on the other hand, was a little harder to figure out. he seemed to hold a grudge against you, but there were times where he'd be almost...nice. after a particularly rough day or a night where you couldn't sleep thanks to someone deciding to also sleep right on top of you, you'd wake up to see your favorite drink waiting for you and all of dazai's usual tricks sorted out in advance. of course, he wasn't completely innocent. he had his own fair share of tricks, though never as bad as dazai's. chuuya was also a lot more familiar with the human world, and provided surprisingly good advice when you needed it.

the problem with the whole arrangement is that dazai cannot share anything, let alone his new human toy. he's suffocatingly possessive, and painfully competitive, constantly wanting you to spend more time with him and be nicer to him and smile more at him and—it went on. once he realizes that chuuya's warming up to you, he immediately starts plotting for damage control. he tries to send chuuya back and convince you that chuuya was only going to hurt you. while chuuya isn't opposed to the idea, dazai's hostility on spurs him on. having the two of you like the same darling will only end up in a lot of fighting.

god i LOOOVEEE feral animal asl its so true. they truly could not care less about "laws" or "public decency" whatever that is. the straw hats manage with just luffy but the whitebeards sometimes have to deal with TWO of them? at ONCE? theyre used to ace because sometimes pirates are just like that, pops has seen plenty of them and hes just happy to see that nasty stray cat finally come inside to relax and he simply counts the shredded furniture as a Personality Trait to keep the house interesting. but then sabo rolls up and everyone at first chuckles and says oh well at least one of them has manners. except. sabo is secretly 4 ravenous feral dogs wearing a top hat. sabo is polite until the food comes out when he starts snarling and snapping (he and ace start wrestling on the floor BITING each other for a single chicken wing) or when he gets the Predator Stare and anyone who crosses within view of it feels their hair stand completely on end. marco has no particularly strong feelings about sabo when they first meet aside from "ace loves him, hes probably a freak, and he looks ridiculous dressed like that (kinda cute)" except. sometimes ace and sabo make noises at each other that are so far from human language they sound like an entirely different species. he swore one time he saw ace come up and just Lick the side of sabos face, who bit his whole ear in return like they were discussing the weather. there is something Wrong with sabo for sure. but its not until he and ace are bickering at the table and thatch throws a spare chunk of raw meat trimmings at ace (because theyve learned ace can and will eat raw meat, even the fatty or gristly bits, and as much as marco insists its not good At All for his health, the crew likes feeding large and dangerous animals) and as soon as the meat hits the table both ace and sabo go perfevtly still for roughly half a second before SABO lunges forward and grabs it in his TEETH while ace starts pummeling him for it. the top hat goes flying, theres the sound of the galley bench screeching across the floor and boots and fingernails scrabbling across the wood and the Chief Of Staff of the Revolutionary Army runs, hissing, on all fucking fours, with a chunk of raw meat in his mouth up the rigging while ace quite literally snaps at his heels. theres distant snarling and growling. sounds of tearing fabric. screams of shock and horror from the crew on the deck. and it is in that moment marco comes to the devastating realization that he is unfortunately attracted to sabo, and that his taste in men simply cannot be salvaged

Sabo standing there all prim and proper, all neatly buttoned up and his accent has this crisp edge to it like a winters morning flinty with fresh snow or perhaps new parchment waiting to be scored by the writers pen

And then Ace shows up and the mask slips abruptly something wicked spills past the pleasantries and hes kinda like fangs bared growly in a way only animals get with each other

Everyone up until this point knows the basic history Ace loves this guy, Sabo to put it bluntly would die to protect Ace with his life, they share a childhood the jungle that fucking jungle, this means Sabos also a beast but what kind theyre hoping if Ace is anything to go by he would be the same

Except Sabo brings out a monster in Ace and clearly hes so much worse, the raw meat spectacle and then the poor crowsnest lookout scrambling down trembling cold sweat like what the fuck happened to those two?

Eventually they comeback down sabos clothes are in tatters and Ace is just naked lmao theyre blood smeared and everyone hopes its the meat but its wishful thinking because thats way too much blood for a fist sized piece of flank steak

Sabo pins him with a baleful pale eyed stare, those freaky mismatched eyes of his locked the fuck on, someone whos blind in one eye really shouldnt have that sort of focus, Ace headbutts him nippy bitey for being ignored but

but yeah, no. misa amane doesn't understand sex with no strings attached. hell, she doesn't understand any relationships that aren't transactional. but it's very pivotal that kiyomi takada doesn't have anything she wants from her. misa amane can't give her anything. more accurately, kiyomi doesn't need anything that misa could possibly give her, and it's a strange dynamic that's so alien to misa that she's intrigued and repulsed by it.

i think a lot of why misa is attracted to light in canon isnt because she actually likes him as a person whatsoever it's just that like. she's so goddamn lonely. open wound of a person latching onto a black hole. AND he has a perfect family too thats why she calls soichiro "dad" in the car scene she's a cuckoo bird she needs people so bad and they don't need her. and it's so fucking nice being with light because he gives her a very clear goal to work towards: Be Useful. so she can just do that!!!! she knows what her role is and she plays it perfectly!!!! misa never says what she likes about him, only that he's perfect, the ideal statue to work towards and never attain but it's okay because that means she'll still get to be in his and his family's shadow anyway!!!!!!!

and kiyomi just ruins that mindset entirely! kiyomi doesn't need anything from her (canon kiyomi would very subtly flinch at you if you ever even suggested she did) and that's so fucking weird, what the hell is wrong with kiyomi, misa thinks

im a kiyomisa truther forever but i also do rotate remisa sometimes and i think half of why remisa doesn't work out reciprocated in canon is because like, misa cannot comprehend why rem just wants to protect her straight up, she keeps asking what rem's ulterior motives are in the bathroom scene, and rem is just like no i want to protect you. thats all. thats it. and misa fundamentally cannot fucking deal with thatttt but it's easier with kiyomi because at least she hates misa so she makes SOME sort of sense. theyre mutually obsessed with each other but kiyomi doesn't liiike misa that can't be it! thank god! her internal crisis is staved off for one more day

(louder, kiyomisa voice) and then there's kiyomi takada, who, for all intents and purposes, understands exactly the pressure that misa amane is under. they are both celebrities, they're both women (with all the pressure that implies), they're both beautiful and sought after and searching for some higher thing to devote their lives to. i think that thing could be each other because kiyomi and misa dating would be objectively a bad thing for their images. you know. 2000s homophobia in japan. misa having to adjust to the fact that kiyomi wants to fuck her when it's kind of. not a "smart" choice. i think it would be a good brain exercise for her. it would also make her cry but at least she doesn't have to examine it right away!

ive already listed my favorite davekat fic, but THIS is my favorite homestuck fic period of all time ever the end. this is the best one. this is the ONLY one, as far as im concerned. you dont want to know how many times ive reread this fic ok. i love davesprite/karkat way more than i love dave/karkat (bc you know me w my doomed characters) and the way this author handles the interpersonal relationships between not just karkat and ds but also like ds and all of the OTHER characters is SO. (plot twist: theyre all boring asf) anyway, wouldn't it be cool if eraqus' intentions and motivations were more obviously grey from the getgo? he loves his kids sure, but he just doesn't make for a good father. his priorities don't lie with them, but rather how best he can mold them into effective soldiers. eraqus hasn't really moved on from the first keyblade war, and has kind of occupied himself with trying to restore the old keyblade order, and figuratively go back in time. i think it would be more entertaining if there was more friction between eraqus and terra from the start. terra is also boring asf, and i want to rewrite him. i imagine him as being more of an openminded guy by default. he likes to question things and doesn't always do what he's told. he likes to know the whys and whatfors, and if it doesn't makes sense, he's going to argue. terra doesn't really plan things out, and is a lot better at just improvising solutions. he just kind of goes with the flow(haha do you get it). i like to imagine that terra out of everyone would vouch the most for ven to be allowed to go on missions with him and aqua, rather than being cooped up at home. i think terra and eraqus would butt heads on this a lot, and terra would eventually start to see through eraqus' reasoning and become a bit more aware that he and his friends are more tools than children to eraqus. i think it would be cute if terra maybe promises to take ven with him to search for more keyblade wielders after he becomes a master. even if eraqus objects, once they hold the same rank and title, eraqus will have no choice but to listen to him. terra wants ven to see the stars and get to make friends, and even if ven isn't as strong as the rest of them, he'll always protect him! on the flip side- aqua. if it weren't for all the drama she goes though, you too would realize just how stiff and boring she actually is. i want to rewrite her, she has so much potential.... aqua is a know-it-all? smart, powerful, follows orders without question; the model soldier, and eraqus doesn't do a good job of hiding his favoritism towards her. although they're mature enough to handle the connotations, it does create a bit of a rift between aqua and terra. aqua is super protective over ven- she babies him, but is unknowingly stunting his growth even further because she can't bear to let him out of her sight. it's something terra and aqua argue about a lot, as terra is more inclined to let ven learn and get hurt and actually do things on his own, while aqua wants to protect him from everything. in opposition to terra, i like to think aqua is an excellent planner- always 20 steps ahead and is highly resourceful, but when the plans fall though, aqua cannot handle the subsequent disaster. she finds comfort in rules and order, and really struggles to function off a script. even around strangers, she cannot do smalltalk and genuinely struggles to socialize, especially in large groups. shes a lot more shy than youd think! comparatively, terra is a lot more easygoing. terra and aqua press at eachother a lot, as their ways of thinking are completely at odds. still, they fill in for a lot of their own deficiencies which allows them to both have room for conflict but also still come together, because ofc, theyre the best of siblings and they all want the same thing: become keyblade masters, protect the worlds from darkness, protect eachother- and most of all, ven.

speaking of ven. it took ventus some time to recover from getting his heart cut in half, but he should've sustained lasting consequences. i mean like, a person's heart is basically their soul. kind of a big deal, right?? i like to imagine ven probably had worse stamina, poor health, and maybe even his physical growth was stunted. think of like, an extension of how roxas was towards the end of days when xion was draining his powers. ven probably couldn't train as frequently as terra and aqua, and as such, lagged behind significantly in his progress. eraqus probably tried for a while to see if they could work around ven's condition, but over time would give ventus special lessons maybe to help him strengthen his control over light; being essentially pure of heart, albeit by artificial means, ven has strong light powers by default and i think eraqus would find that invaluable to nurture especially since the prospects of ven ever becoming a master was becoming more and more of an impossibility. by the time terra and aqua were getting ready to essentially graduate, i feel like eraqus would throw in the towl with the keyblade training and have to break the news that ven would never be a keyblade master. wouldn't that be crazy?? i imagine that ven probably put two-and-two together on his own, but has been trying as hard as he can anyway because he's afraid of being left behind and becoming nothing more than a liability to his friends... eraqus would be particularly protective of ven, out of love of course, but also because ven's unique condition and subsequent light powers make him an especially effective as a soldier. ven is essentially doomed to become a princess locked up in a castle, but as much as he keeps asking for a chance to leave, he's gradually starting to lose faith in himself and doesn't really have the courage to leave home anymore. and thats why ventus should've been kidnapped by vanitas in the beginning of the game instead of chasing after terra, and then wandering around like an idiot for his entire 10hr route. wouldn't it have been fun and made the plot more urgent and maybe more parallel to kh1 if the gang were searching for ventus the whole time? rather than ven being analogous to sora, he really should've been representative to kairi. vanitas couldve easily snatched ven at the start of bbs when terra is about to leave, and hell, maybe from the getgo eraqus is like- "it must be xehanort: terra, aqua, if you see him run tf away hes evil because darkness." it wouldve been a much smarter move for the characters to have been made aware of xehanort's evil from the start, because us the players were aware of it from the start. its silly to watch the characters get stringed along for a whole game on a plot twist you already know is going to happen. it also wouldve opened the doors for xehanort to really show how cunning and manipulative he can be if manages to convince the characters to his reasoning, despite them knowing hes bad. it would be even better if xehanort was convincing enough to even get players to at least be like "hm well he has a point 🤔". that would make him a little scarier i think. also. wouldn't it be more interesting if like, terra at first worried when his heart starts to lean towards darkness, actually learns to control it and be more comfortable with it. just. by himself? wouldnt it be more fun and a bit more obvious instead of mildly implied that terra's heart is so much stronger than xehanort expected, and terra just masters his darkness all on his own??? it would be cool. i like xehanort being an evil mastermind, but i want to see him fuck up sometimes?? he severely underestimates terra, and pays the price- losing his entire sense of self when he tries to bodysnatch terra and they effectively tie in their battle against eachother and their hearts merge or whatever to become ansem. xehanort fucked it up! would be cool... anyway. i just wanted to get all my thoughts out my head. istg bbs is so boring and mediocre i drives my brain crazy trying to fill in a blank canvas.

my thing right now that im realizing is that they are not stem major vs arts major bc theyre both artists kaveh is an architect and alhaitham is a scribe so honestly kaveh is closer to stem than alhaitham bc the amount of math an architect has to do is terrifying (tbh its only studying once u actually get on the field u hire engineers and shit to do ur math for u) but alhaitham is in linguistics so i dont think he wouldve ever done anything math related bc hes rly smart so i think he knows its mostly made up so theres not rly any point he would study math to study ppl and their ideas and the things they make up

thats actually smth thats rly important abt him is that he studies the world but he doesnt rly study ppl especially not the way that someone like neuvillette does bc i dont think he views himself as a person but its less of an osamu dazai kinda thing and more of a he knows hes so much smarter than everyone else and he knows that intelligence and humanity cannot coexist which is also why he keeps his distance from ppl bc smth abt the mediocre majority

their arguments changed from akademiya days to now bc now its smth comfortable its like dazai blowing up chuuyas car when he left bc anger is easier to deal with than grief and longing and regret so they argue to express themselves the only way that theyve learned how and they understand each other perfectly but the way that it used to be was smth hinting at that but not quite there it was a lot more defensive bc they wanted to have someone like them but it was a test of sorts for each other and for themselves to see if they could handle it

nightmare's a very... controlling ruler of his kingdom. as he feeds off of negativity, the people of his kingdom must be miserable. his soldiers enforce this rule of negativity however they can.... the people in the village know they cannot publicly show positive emotions

enter the poet.. they're actually a travelling bard! they happen upon this particular kingdom, and thus they don't know the rules of the kingdom... so they start a performance and gain quite the crowd. people are happy and it causes a great big deal. the kingdom's soldiers are sent out to fix this mistake.

cross ends up arresting the poet, and brings them before the king to decide what to do with them. nightmare's like "um... obviously lock them up??? girl fym you dont know what to do with them.."

the poet, obviously not wanting to go to jail for simply being a silly happy lil guy, decides to attempt to strike a deal with the king!

"excuse me, your highness, but i cannot help but notice that you are a very miserable man running a very miserable kingdom. allow me to spark joy and spread whimsey :)"

and despite the king having a miserable kingdom for a reason, he is slightly enthralled by the idea... so, he accepts the poet's suggestion, though, that makes them basically his property

they don't really care because they're free!! (sort of.) and also he's paying them :) and if a king is paying them, then they must be getting a good deal of money right??? right! so they're happy as a clam!

meanwhile cross is standing there like 🧍 because this... this gay ass CREATURE is just... allowed to be happy in the land of misery? just bcs the king finds entertainment from them???? he's kinda salty...

anyway poet decides to flirt w him when theyre not being forced to entertain the king because he's the one who "got them the job" technically??? so they write sonnets and little songs for him to show their appreciation but theyre all lowk flirty cuz they think he's cute and they all fluster him
