Once a month (at least) family trip are a must, It started with Ultear dragging Lyon places during the 7 year gap but it started being a more regular thing when Gray turned back up

the first couple time they tried to do things together, it was a disaster

they werent familiar with each other and were hella awkward

Also, when Lyon & Ultear would mention to Gray they were coming into town, he would try to convince the team to go on an impromptu job

they’ve since learned to warn Erza of their arrival so he cant leave

‘abt to come into town, do not let that mf leave’

‘Guarding the doors & windows rn’

Grays probably walked into the guild to see one or both of them and turned right back around

The first time the showed up when Gray wasnt around they got a shovel-esque talk

it was terrifying and also confusing considering they think of themselves as his siblings so shouldnt they be giving those talks?

Ultear really embraces her oldest sibling role and pays for practically everything they do together

While Gray will try to avoid in person outings, he will blow up their phones (lacrima devices, whatever) at all hours of the night

Lyon probably has a 16 step skin care routine that he tries to nag the other two into trying it

its a fools quest tbh

They argue. so much. cannot do anything together without a disagreement. they probably have fist fought each other too

They are fiercely protective of one another, they can be pretty subtle about it but its clear as day to anyone who even slightly crosses them

They as a whole have a gambling/betting problem

They have run their pockets dry with it

They have been kicked out of multiple restaurants for being too loud

Gray tells them off-handedly abt the jobs and events he went through while growing up in Fairy Tail and they just sit back and listen in horrified fascination

they have absolutely no planned photos of them, they just never got around to it (*coughcough* grayrefusedtobeinone *coughcough*)

however! they have soooo many candid ones, Gray glared and complained when he found out (but he has half of them framed or saved on his phone)

Ultear and Lyon got pretty close duriny the 7 year gap and while Gray swears hes not jealous of it he totally is

A lot of their conversations have left them with a sense of dread, confusion and hysteria

hi, first of all just want to say that your blog is very helpful to me. if i ever need help with something, i always check to see if you've posted about it before.

anyway, onto my question. i have two characters who are best friends and theyve been arguing up to a point. ive gotten past that point and now theyre reconciling. i have their individual problems they had while fighting with each other, but my problem is i dont know how to go about making them apologise to each other. i tried writing some dialogue and parts of the scene, but it all feels very forced and unnatural. i was wondering if you might have some ideas on how to make the reconciliation scene more natural?

Writing a Reconciliation Between Friends

The key to writing a natural reconciliation scene is to find a natural way into the reconciliation. If the reconciliation feels forced/unearned there's not much you can do to make the actual moment feel right.

Step #1 - What Changes? Before two people can reconcile after a falling out, something has to change. For example, one or both of them need to have a change of heart... as in realizing their original position was faulty, that they were both right or both wrong, or that the friendship is more important than the point of disagreement. Or, maybe they're reunited by something bigger than the fight, like an illness, natural disaster, or a common cause.

Step #2 - Illustrate that Change for the Reader. The next step is to "show the math" of that change for the reader... show what the change is and how it shows up in the heart/mind of the character/s, then how that translates into a desire to reconcile.

Step #3 - 3... 2... 1... Contact! Now one character needs to reach out to the other in a meaningful way. Or, maybe they end up face to face unexpectedly. Either way, contact needs to happen. If one is reaching out to the other, this is more about testing the waters to see if they're open to reconciliation. If the person reaching out owes the other an apology, that should be part of it, but otherwise this isn't a time to rehash what happened. If they end up face to face unexpectedly, this will probably be an awkward moment where they both feel obligated to make small talk, but that can be an opening for one or both of them to apologize, say they're missed, and see if they're open to mending fences. Again, as long as you've done steps one and two, this should feel natural no matter how it plays out, because you did the work to make it earned.

Step #4 - Talk It Out... Carefully... If both are open to reconciliation, there will be some measure of talking it out. Again, this shouldn't be a rehashing of the original fight--both should be careful not to dredge up past arguments--this is more about clarifying what changed (if it makes sense to do so), apologizing (if necessary), reiterating what was missed/lost with the parting of ways, and extending forgiveness.

Step #5 - Rebuild the Friendship - There will need to be some rebuilding of the friendship, and maybe a lot if the fight was really bad. It could be as simple as just easing back to the original comfort level (which may happen fast), or it could require learning to trust again. It may also require an examination of the original problem if it's something that isn't fully resolved with the reconciliation. Like, if the original fight was due to ideological differences, they will need to talk about it and maybe lay down some rules/boundaries so it doesn't become a problem again.

Depending on your characters and the needs of your story, steps 3 - 5 or 4 & 5 could all occur in one conversation. You don't necessarily have to drag it out over multiple scenes/conversations. Again, it just depends on what needs to happen in your story. Making sure the reconciliation is earned is the important thing, then making sure you clarify why reconciliation is possible is the next most important thing. Finally, making sure you show that things are smoothed over will bring things full circle.

In main story laoft, durant does not see roman and remy's dalliances as important or a threat to him/his control over roman.

in this story. he does

in an agonizing display of cruelty, he kidnaps remy and presents him to night roman as a gift.

its a terrible position - roman cant reject the gift and risk durants anger, which will end in disaster for both him and remy... but niether can he accept it and walk back into his day life with the knowledge that remy will remain here, trapped, alone with durant, and impossibly far away from anything roman can do to protect him

Roman takes the only path he can find - feign gratefulness so deep that he no longer had need of his day left, and giving it up. because at least if theyre both trapped remy's not alone.

Remy and Roman disappear the same night, stolen from their beds without a sound or a trace left behind.

In wickhills, Logan is incandescent with fury and patton cries so miserably the woods and hills around his house are bone-dead silent. not even the birds want to sing in his presence.

May sits alone in her house, the door locked, refusing to answer for anyone.

The Adams' put up posters across all of southeast ohio knowing nobody is going to call

And emile watches them all and churns with guilt because he didnt know remy, not really, so why does he think he has a right to be this sad?

Back in faerieland, things escalate in a bad way very quickly. Durant coerces Roman and Remy into increasingly intense sexual scenarios for his entertainment.

in the midst of this, having only one other person you can rely on or trust can, coupled with the rapid increase in intimacy, cross the wires a bit, and wwhoops, Remy and roman are in love now

Remy: or whatever passes for love in this shitshow Roman: you dont get to tell me i dont really love you Remy, crying: ok

and tbh, all of this is more of just context for what im ACTUALLY interested which is

they get out. now what?

Because in the meantime, Emile has reached out to patton, we still have LAMP and remile, and now we have pair-of-cats-that-cant-be-separated creativisleep

Logan: you thought canon logan had anger issues? ha. ha i say. this logan would kill a man sooner than let them make roman or remy even slightly uncomfortable. he'll snarled at his own mother if she gets too close. he'll snarl at thomas, though he'll feel bad about both. this is actually! not great! because logan tried to guard from the outside looks a lot like Guards Keeping Us Inside to remy and roman, so they have to figure out how to navigate logans nuclear reactor protectiveness vs it wigging roman and remy out.

Virgil: Virgil waking up is the catalyst for them getting free, and in the midst of his horror falls in QP love at first sight with remy, who was so brave and so strong and kept roman safe when virgil couldnt.

Remy: i dont know if 'safe' is even slihtly accurate Virgil: the safety of his heart and mind are of equal importance to me as his body. you have cherished both, and you can have anything you ask for as long as i live Remy: [gay fluster noises]

Patton keeps determinedly dragging emile to mays house (where they are holed up for close access to dizzy and jax) even though Emile feels like he's intruding

Patton, constantly on the verge of tears: I almost lost Roman and i've decided im in love with all of you and i CATEGORICALLY refuse to lose anyone else Emile: um Patton: RE. FUSE.

so pattons HOPE is that they all wind up in a big polycule pile, and its doesnt... not do that, but its not quite as clearcut as all that.

Theres stumbling blocks at the beginning withboth remy and roman wavering on whether or not their romantic feelings are genuine, and subsequently wondering if the fact that theeyre still in love with Emile and LAM respectively means that they arent.

this would go through some oscillations of both of them trying to deny those feelings to "prove" their love for each other, vs trying to push the other away so they can go be with p[eople they "really love"

do! not! separate them!

in my head this ends with romantic LAMP, Romantic Remile, Romantic Patmile, and QPR losleep and sleepxiety - everybody else is friends and cuddle buddies

Remy is actually super comforted by the fact that Patton is in love with him/attracted to him but never asks for more than friendship because he knows remy isnt. Metamour besties.

Dizzy suffers a lot from this ordeal (she hid from durant and subsequently roman, knowing if he found her as romans familiar it would be catastrophic) so their bond is.... stretched, lets say. overtaxed. she's a little sicklier. a little smaller, a little more timid. hides in remy or virgils jackets frequently

All of which is to say that this is a fraught extended metaphor that sometimes trauma changes you, and it changes your relationships, and it changes the way you feel attraction, and all of that is okay. it doesnt make those feelings or relationships less real or loving or valid.

anyway this is my monster. im not going to write it (please dont ask) but some people have expressed that they were glad i still shared it, so have some bite sized angst

Ill be real, most of my ideas for that au arent planned because the idea of it wasnt planned either. ...it came out of me playing tomadachi life. . . I can just recount everything so it makes more sense maybe

Scenty doesn't make them do challenges she keeps them on the plane to live life like theyre bugs and basically finds joy in being able to watch them and maintain control while also craving more interaction from other people. this ultimately means that no one gets eliminated and no one is in any real danger. however, Charlotte is literally dying from the mold and ends up . yknow, dying. Freaking Scenty out because one she didn't expect it and two since she had never killed anyone during their stay in the plane she never learns the respawn command making it even more of a disaster to her mental state lol

Ok so this is where things get fuzzy im not to sure how charlotte does it BUT SHES ABLE TO NAVIGATE THE RADIO (maybe another stone is there in the waiting room idk let me have this) and ultimately is able to arrive back at earth. Parker runs into her they have a whole back and forth, Charlotte is avoiding him with her mixed feelings while Parker wants them to have some sort of communication because hes equally as worried for her as he is frustrated. Im pretty sure i planned for them to investigate the whole plane and maybe even more about Scenty (without knowing its the unknown 'deity' who trapped her and the others.) Charlotte concluded she has to stop Scenty by going back which . means she has to kill herself. Which Parker is immediately against and they have their second big fight but it ends with Charlotte dying anyway.

anyway SOMEHOW Charlotte is able to go to Scentys world and wow she finds out shes a normal person who just decided to fuck around and find out i guess. Scenty is immediately overwhelmed with joy because wow Charlottes here and shes alive! And shes. not a murderer, hah. But Charlotte is pissed so they definitely have a very funny bonding moment where Charlotte has to suppress the urge to kill this naive and too overbearing candle. While trying to figure out how to stop what she's doing with everyone else.

..and yeah, the ending is basically undecided because i had planned for either one of them to die.. OR BOTH who knows really but i still dunno either way so there's that. I hope you enjoyed my long spiel cause this might be what you get for a while lol and if none of this makes sense, then sorry, but i literally can not construct anything comprehensible in my current state LOL

Alright here's my semi thought out rambling on the contenders of who could adopt Billy Batson.

Keep in mind, this is not based on the Shazamily Billy, but the homeless kid Billy who spent years running away from his abusive uncle, and then multiple foster homes, and squats in apartments.

BatFam: IMO, they would immulate a foster home too much for Billy's comfort. A large home with multiple bodies, all of them having their own issues and lives that Billy would either feel excluded from or strive to help too much. Likewise, to have all those eyes - especially as the Batfam - watching him and being aware of his every move would be incredibly invasive for him. Billy is an independent kid, but hes not a crime fighter like the batkids, so the others would try to help him in any and every way possible, that would inevitably push Billys boundaries. The family stability is questionable, but the loyalty is definitely something Billy needs. So i think theyd be best as like, the friends home Billy stays at sometimes. Not to mention its Gotham. That city is not for Captain Marvel.

Constantine: lmao. Listen. I love this disaster in a trenchcoat disguised as a wreck of a man, but he should not be in any parental role. Him and Billy work out bc they are around each other in doses. They're complete opposites in methods and morals, and continued exposure would do them both harm. Likewise, when John truly cares for someone he pushes them away bc everyone around him gets hurt. He actively chooses to hurt them sometimes, if theyre not used against him. It doesn't matter that Billy is Captain Marvel and can withstand more than John can throw. John will self destruct and keep Billy away. And that is what would hurt Billy most. Bc he would feel abandoned and unwanted, and that kid has too many issues surrounding that in particular. He needs a stable environment and Constantine can not provide that in the long run - especially in a domestic sense. They're wayyy better off as friends, or magical mentor/mentee.

Superman: The biggest obstacle here is Clark's insistence that Billy remain a child and live a normal life instead of being Captain Marvel. Even if Clark relents to having Billy be Marvel and stay on JL, it would be a continuous struggle for both of them. Not only bc Clark does not know how to be a parent, but also Billy would have a very hard time adjusting. Compared to the other two, I'd say Clark is the most stable, but perhaps not stable enough. Journalism and Superman take up a lot of Clark's time, and he'd really struggle with balancing having Billy too - especially if this is pre-Jon. What's more, unlike Jon, Billy's duties and abilities are different. Despite Superman understanding personal wants vs greater duties, he could not help with Marvel's duties, as much as he'd want to. And I think that would really stress Clark out. Not to mention gaining Billy's trust once its lost is an uphill battle. Cap can work just fine with Superman, but Billy would be a feral kitten - another differing aspect Clark would struggle to grasp. I think there's potential here, esp with help from Lois and Mama Kent, but they're both on such different wave lengths beneath the shallow surface, that they'd struggle with cohabitation and being a 'family' more than one would think.

Wonder Woman: Gonna be honest, I think she's the best candidate for taking Billy in. Not only does she understand Cap's duties from a divine perspective, but she's taken on such monumental tasks. She gave up living on her home island to do her divine warrior duty, but then she found balance in remaking her home life as Diana Prince. She had a loving mother and community that raised her, which she'd draw inspiration from for Billy. There'd be a balance of knowing he's a child that needs protection and he's a chosen champion that needs to learn how to protect others (and himself) - honestly, the same balance Diana's mother had to find for her, which she'd realize with Billy. Itd be a familial connection she has greatly missed since Amazon. And tbh I think Cap and Billy are on the same page with WW - respect and admiration and trust, and that divine tie of being gifted by the Gods (Zeus specifically). Plus being handled without kiddie gloves and respected as a hero would be something Billy greatly appreciates.

anyways. i think. god. yall already know how much i LOVE and talk about how both derek and the sheriff lost their ultimate loved one and how stiles is the literal embodiment of those two loved ones. i go batshit crazy whenever i think abt (after claudia’s death) stiles just missing his mom and maybe trying on her clothes in secret and her perfume and everything about her and it being one of the reasons why the sheriff (during his drunk eps) had absolutely. been so mean to him because that’s his wife and his son is the splitting image of her (physically and personality wise) and it just hurts

AND THEN YOU FACTOR IN PAIGE STILES AND ITS SO FUCKING. i genuinrly cannot even put it into enough words how much it makes me crazy. paige. jennifer. and how theyre both SO stiles. i just know stiles heart shattered when peter was telling that story and i KNOW stiles went on some research rampage on bh yearbooks and saw paige and just. this very devastating oh moment. immediately goes back and thinks abt every moment w derek and its like some slap to the face

i dont think stiles would outrigbt ask derek smthn like that but i feel like it would send stiles into a spiral similar to how or what happened w sheriff and claudia and i think thats such a painful cycle of just being this someone. the second choice almost—some kind of cheap copy of someone’s beloved because he was never really claudia nor was he really ever paige but sometimes does he try because he thinks thats all he is (some fake grade a copy of the original)

which probably makes it also insane because remember when the nogutsune split into two stile. sorry i dont even know how thats connected it just cane into my mind and now i had to say it

anyways im insane over this im genuinely always fucking thinking about stiles will always resemble derek and the sheriff’s lost loved ones and the implications of it to stiles, who has always been the underdog and has always received love in such thin barely there offhanded touches

once they move in finally, so much more of sashisu's dynamic is revealed 2 them [n reader gets slowly integrated in2 it] satosugu r an established couple n do gross couple shit like sloppy make outs IN SHOKOS ROOM . they hang out in there 2 annoy shoko but after she puts more focus on her medical textbook they end up just doing whatever the hell they want ,, shoko doesnt care that much bcuz atp shes used 2 it n reader gets used 2 it pretty fast 2 cuz they would do the same when reader still had an apt [rip readers apt u will b missed]

ANYWAY there is so much tension in that damn apartment its unreal, sometimes the touches w satoru turn awkward in a SNAP, late at night when its just reader n shoko that r awake at the dining table n the conversation lulls n suddenly shokos big brown eyes are the most beautiful things in the world, driving around w suguru 4 groceries n ending up being mistaken as a couple n the idea of what could b just ends up sitting w reader + suguru 4 the rest of the trip AND THEN WHEN UR ALL 2GETHER shoko already also has mildly romantic moments w satosugu separately n together but w reader added in2 the mix ends up w all 4 of u on the couch watching a movie n limbs r everywhere n its warm n its raining outside but ur all inside w blankets n snacks n a shitty movie but ur all w each other so its fine and then suguru makes breakfast the next morning cuz its a sunday n he needs 2 clear out the fridge 2 make room 4 the new weeks groceries

WAIT expanding on breakfast w suguru . waking up around the same time as him n u end up helping w breakfast BUT since suguru is a music nerd 2 ME . 2 ME HE IS . u end up picking out a vinyl from his collection in his room and put something on the record player in the living room [THIS . THIS ALBUM I LOVE IT SO MUCH esp go my son, desert rose, i walk in beauty, reservation blues, sehe nado yodo, n from the eagles bed] so ur both just there swaying in the kitchen n all is good in the world :3

'are you sure ?' she asks and u nod 'yeah, dont want you to get cold' she gives u a sharp smile n puts out the half burnt cigarette n rolls the window up once shes back in the car. shoko tilts her head the way she does when she knows something you dont want her 2 know, 'now what ?' u look into her big eyes with reverence as the smoke smell lingers around you, 'i dunno, what do you want to do ?' your voice is soft, unsure, but what the two of you have been itching to do for the past few months metaphorically crashes over the car as shoko reaches her hand out to you jaw while you cup the side of her face and pull her into a gentle kiss that COULDVE been more if it werent for your damn phone pinging w a notification abt the food being ready

and then !!!!!! u all slip in2 a happy polycule, there isnt much talking required, except 4 one night at the insistence of suguru + reader bcuz u wanted 2 get boundaries straight n grievances aired n suguru wanted 2 know the general details of what was happening between u all

the second everyone [minus reader] is in the car 2 go home, satoru n shoko r searching up the best way 2 get ppl in2 japan thru work visas while suguru is having a mild depression spiral in the front seat [he gets pulled out of that mess FAST]

like miranda comes off as more comfortable starting relationships but thats just when she considers it low risk/low value. its why i keep bringing up her technically being demiromantic, as she's still very willing to start flings and relationships with people she's not actually romantically interested in, because she finds them fun and entertaining and flirting is enjoyable for her. when she actually catches feelings thats an ENTIRELY different ballpark, since now she has something to lose and something that can be used against her, and even moreso because she's scared of damaging relationships she wants to keep by having romantic feelings and having the social needs of a merfolk. add in a ton of discomfort around real intimacy from her title and her life as a royal and miranda suddenly feels like all her prior experience with dating means nothing because none of it DID mean anything to her.

and aaravi has her own discomfort with intimacy and actually being open with her feelings, because she so closely connects that to weakness and things people can use to hurt her, and she is INTENSELY afraid that the second she lets someone in her life in a more permanent manner is the exact moment that they leave her. she's also still terrified of getting into a relationship with a monster, especially because of repeating the history her mom had with her dad, and about it not being real and something that doesnt mean anything to miranda in turn. her hypervigilance over her body and her actions and her thoughts also don't help and she's a chronic overthinker, that what she's going to say or do will instantly fuck up everything she's worked hard to have, and thats ESPECIALLY a fear when it comes to more personal and intimate things. likewise, whereas miranda has experience playing around with dating and flirting, aaravi has none of that experience, and it makes her feel like she's doomed for failure from the start without a chance to get good at it.

and both of them have a lot of internal self hate and a lot of constant feeling that if they're not the best and perfect then they're flawed and broken beyond repair and the worst. so they're likewise both feeling the worry that they'll personally be the ones to fuck it up and what the other will find underneath the surface will be something repulsive and bad, and both are VERY scared of hurting the other, accidentally or otherwise.

and mind you both of them are being very obvious about their attraction to each other and flirting with each other and even going on dates (even though neither of them will CALL them dates), and its just a disaster all around. they're disaster lesbians. they're not even being subtle about it everyone can tell theyre blushing and falling over each other and everyone is just waiting for them to finally kiss and neither of them has caught on that the other feels the same way.

honestly a lot of it is "theres potential here, i like their chemistry", but theyre also both big dorks in their own right

im gonna ramble below of some ideas/headcanons i have for them:

kinda barebones atm but one is an AU/canon divergence with zanzo's whole fight after he gets defunded (we shouldve had a proper boss fight), which is basically "what if they convinced him to help fight against kale" (since he doesnt seem to really hold an attachment to spectra or the company? just does whatever he wants; chaotic neutral) and with that was the promise of studying chai, since he wanted to learn more about his enhancements and cause hes got nothing else to lose at that point he agrees (basically no one is happy about this but its better than nothing). hed also be interested in 808's and her connection to chai

this version of him is what im calling the Defunded! version (hair down/wires tied back; ngl it started off cause i thought it looked cool and i suck at drawing mohawks LMAO)

chai seems to be genuinely impressed with technology (ex: ar labs), and since zanzo likes being the smartest person in the room, he creates things to show off. i like to think that he would eventually make an attempt at creating upgrades for his arm, to push chai and his potential to the limit

zanzo also holds some respect for chai, as hes the only boss to not refer to him as a defect. examining chai would also help himself be able to build stronger robots, and to give him inspiration for new ones since chai is unique in how he functions. he tests them on chai and claims its "training" for him.

if given the chance i think the two would have some pretty good banter, they both seem to humor eachother without the other getting frustrated. they also both have brat energy and would definitely sass eachother on the most mundane things

i also love the whole "one person is interested in another one for 'buisness' reasons, ends up getting attached" trope which i feel fits these two pretty well. zanzo doesnt like people messing with his experiments/test subjects and would see chai as his and be very possessive

chais core changes rhythm depending on his emotional state, which zanzo then experiments to find out what causes the bpm change, much to chais embarrassment

definitely would take them awhile to realize "hey i kinda like them more than i should" and with that comes panic and denial. slowburn status

chai gets flustered easily, and is horrible at hiding it. zanzo i see him not being completely aware that his actions can come off flirty, but when hes by himself and/or realizes he overthinks and becomes a mess. they are both disasters.

chai seems to have a lot of self worth issues, which i think zanzo also shares to some degree? chai acts like he knows what hes doing when he really doesnt and is more insecure; and zanzo seems to want people to actually take him seriously and acts smarter than he really is. they both hide behind an outgoing persona. would they ever let their guard down and show that side of them? who knows :]

chai likes watching zanzo work on his robots, not understanding anything hes being told but liking the passion the other has for his work. chai would also mess with him given the chance, nothing actually damaging though.

since chai never got that gift basket, maybe zanzo would make him one as a confession

i know i was being a little reactive and passive agressive the other day when i was like it's more interesting when the doctor isnt autistic and im sorry about that i was being a bit of a jerk but with the distance of a few days and the soundness of mind that the mires of ficwriting and sleep deprivation will bring you i still stand behind that in kind of in the same way as what i said the other day about nonbinary

because to me being nonbinary feels sorta similar to being self-undiagnosed. like, if i say im not a boy OR a girl, what then? what does that call into question about the world you believe in? if i rock and tic and dont make eye contact, if i miss every third conversational cue im given and my modus operandi in social situations is to stand against the wall and observe, if im a disaster at crossing the road bc traffic is too complex for me, if i have all-encompassing interests that dont allow me to think about anything but it for months on end, and i say im NOT autistic, what then? what does that call into question about the world you believe in?

and like obviously the easy answer is to say im in denial, or being obstinate. you can say that. same way you can say theres only two genders and im a girl bc the doctor (the not-fun kind) said so.

and the maybe slightly more difficult answer is that any diagnosis is as much of a concept that was made at some point as any gender. someone decided to draw some lines and punt some people to one side of it and others to the other

i was wondering the other day when people who use fahrenheit start saying "it's freezing" if theyre speaking literally and not just mean it's very cold. because over here we're like "it freezes" once the temperature drops below 0. so i was wondering, for fahrenheiters does it start freezing at 0 too? do you have to wait until it's -18 celsius before you say it's freezing? but i asked @explaingravity and they said no it's from 32 degrees. when water freezes. "it freezes" when water freezes. makes sense right? that makes sense. but to me "freezing" meant 0. thats the freezing number. 0=freezing. but thats not true! thats JUST water. thats just water in like regular earthy conditions when you dont even put salt in it. other things freeze at different points. we just calibrated on water. and fahrenheit calibrated on... hang on a sec

i think doctor who, with its empire that is both great britain and alien, can be a nice way to examine and deconstruct concepts in our lives that we (in great britain or other places that share their concepts) take for granted. take as like, the divine right of kings, you know? i also think doctor who most of the time fails at this. regularly fails so hard it just reinforces its great british concepts. i think doctor who would be better if it dug deeper and if the doctor was not such a conservative (as in, inclined to preserve existing conditions)

tldr: i think not ascribing queerness and diagnosis to the doctor opens way more doors for interesting stuff than doing it. we can stretch our brains. try to come up with paradigms to see the world way differently than how we're taught to see it. theres way more potential there. same way theres way more potential in doctor who

Lol I felt the same about OH3. And I usually enjoy Big Disaster plots but I romanced Rafael and just want him to be happy (but the maitotoxin attack makes me very uncomfortable still).

Although I wouldn’t have minded something happening to MC and they’re looked after by their LI for a few chapters 🥰

pb should have given us a Big Disaster plot where Ethan got his shit wrecked, for once 😤 jkjk lmao unless

honestly pb really fumbled the maitotoxin attack. like between their original plan of killing of Raf (WHY. HES THE BEST) & the whole thing being resolved in like a day in-story it was just kind of a mess

also the mc just. going back to work just a few days later? and after their initial "oh my god i almost died in this room" they're perfectly fine? yeah. no. they should have had some lasting damage

in my hc world, Baxter totally has PTSD from it (on top of their hospital-related trauma from their childhood. so. fun for them!) & they've also formed a much closer bond w Raf through it, due to them a) both nearly dying (Baxter gets way closer to dying than canon!mc did, probably way closer than my Raf would have) and b) being each other's last person to have physical contact with while thinking theyre gonna die

but YES i love a good hurt/comfort & it would have been nice to get more LI Taking Care Of MC than that one single diamond scene during the maitotoxin attack. especially bc Raf wasn't even an option to have a diamond scene with bc he was there dying with you.
