Like many people around the world I wasn’t able to spend time with my family in Adelaide today. But I’m grateful for so many things and appreciate that there are many people much worse off than me. I chose to make the day a positive one and did some early morning cardio, had a visit from a friend, went to the gym and did a back workout and just had drinks with a friend. Still so much to be thankful for. During Christmas I think we get so wrapped up (no pun intended) in things like buying gifts and eating as much food as our waistband allows, that we do forget that others have it worse off.

So please whilst enjoying the festivities, remember your lonely neighbour, or the homeless person always in the cold, and if you can stretch to let them in for a bit of dinner or maybe buy them some warm clothes, we may make their Christmas magical.

An interesting topic, but truthfully, from the color of our skin to our socioeconomic status, we’re sometimes pushing a boulder up a hill when it comes to getting help and services for those with mental illness. Spent this Thanksgiving morning with CHARM serving those inside the Carole Young Medical Center Jail. Left feeling humbled and encouraged as we rapped to and spoke with ladies who are convicted criminals doing their time in prison now.
