I super don't want this to come off as bragging but something like this has never and probably never will happen to me again so please forgive me for this post, but uhh

If even just last year, you had told me I'd have the highest kudos'ed fic in an entire fandom tag on ao3, I wouldn't have believed you.

If you then elaborated that the top kudos'ed fic in the entire fandom had about 130 kudos, I'd wonder what kind of niche ass fandom I'd gotten myself into, lol.

Seriously though, kudos are a weird thing--The Quiet Act was lucky with timing within the fandom, it was multi-chaptered so getting reposted probably helped boost the numbers too. It was a perfect storm that it just happened to end up on top.

That being said, still--thank you to everyone who read and enjoyed the fic, from the bottom of my heart. The Quiet Act is so incredibly special to me and the love it received is not something I take at all for granted.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I really love this little fandom. You're all so wonderful and I just hope I put out even half the love/good energy I receive from y'all 💜

I’m still so shocked, upset and outraged about the JLS/Jay news, but seeing how the fandom is equally outraged, banding together, posting encouraging, emotional, and thought provoking messages, and continuing to gif/write about Jay and upstead is helping so much. According to his wiki, crediting FIFA 23, Babatunde’s first name is Ugo after the actor who plays him (Ugochukwu Ejiegbu). I checked and he isn’t on imdb. Had to login to LinkedIn to cross-check the name vs an entry for a medical screener. Apparently he’s done background work for 7 years. Good for him!

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.
