Istg, people are hating so much on every driver this weekend as if it's not valid to be angry and frustrated when your team is fucking up your strategies, calls, and pits— not to mention the poor radio updates. Not that some of them made poor mistakes and decisions too, but it's also not solely their faults as well.

Like seb said (not these exact lines, but near), "what do you expect to hear from someone when I hit them? oh, sebastian, that's not nice! ofcourse they're gonna be mad!"

going by this, if you think any drivers are way too mad or sad or frustrated this weekend, give them grace. they are humans, they can be sensitive and aggravated like us fans :))

this is a weekend to forget for all of us— both fans and drivers— so let's give them our support and pray that the next gp will be better for them.

additional notes:

— if you hear even one radio from any of the drivers, none of them sound amused. like us, they are pissed and frustrated

— check post race interviews.

— nico rosberg: "took out the spark/excitement out of oscar's first win, and upsetted lando" (basically putting the blame on neither drivers)

— almost all drivers had problems in the car upgrades or team strategies.

Okay why do half the fans of Lewis Hamilton baby him? I honestly like the guy but I don't baby him, he had a difficult race weekend and I feel bad for him but I came across so many tik tok edits and posts saying oh my heart breaks for him. He looks so sad etc. Sometimes the drivers have bad race weekends and I understand it's frustrating but I don't understand babying them!?

Its totally fine to ask this and I do get where you come from. Honestly this problem goes out to many drivers, whether it be max, charles, lando or anyone. Ig its the fans way of shifting the narrative from blaming the driver for their poor performance to making it seem like a tragic depressive thing that they performed poor.

I wish they stop doing this and ACTUALLY call out drivers for their results. Theyre rich popular men and im pretty sure they need to get a reality check instead of a sad tiktok sometimes

desperately trying to wrangle thoughts w @mecachrome about how Team Torque was an immediate like <3 of how Oscar goes right back to that beloved 'I'm permanently sarcastic bc I like you, mate' Oscar from F2 and Alpine content. bc Logan ofc but also Alex bc sarcasm being Alex's entire love language and he was always destined to be friends w Oscar <3

but it's also added to mountain of evidence that Oscar initially tried the same approach w Lando but it never rly felt right ?? Lando has that dynamic w a lot of friends but somehow w Oscar just no ??

and sometime between Silverstone (the waist grab !) and Austin (the content !) Oscar decided to just go ahead and let the 8+ year Thing fully out on his face and out of his eyeballs and stare as much as he wanted - and like instead of finding it weird or funny Lando just :3 and was like yes this fits just right and also it turned Oscar from pretty intimidatingly talented and put-together teammate to one of Lando's Safe Place People bc Oscar pays close attention to Lando and is patient w Lando

and maybe that's why we all comment that it feels like we're intruding a lot of the time we get content of them together bc their form of bonding was an interlinked flavor of weird unique to themselves - not unlike moving to a new neighborhood and the local outdoor cat choosing to spend so much time at your place that you gladly buy them food and bowls and a bed and eventually they just move in completely and you never felt so special <3

I wonder if at some point the mclarens will ask to actually split both sides of the garage considering what theyre fighting for, like why should the car behind refuse to play with strategy from the start? the wcc is pretty much secured at this point

to be honest, i doubt it, like i think they're going to stay as neutral as possible, as long as possible, for the entire year if they can get away with it. unless it becomes absolutely necessary to back one of the drivers from an external threat for the wdc, they're not going to let them use strategy to gain advantage over their teammate. their whole philosophy with lando and oscar is thinking long-term and trying to avoid acrimony and resentment, more accusations of bias than they already get. they're going to try to safely get 1-2s until it is mathematically impossible for another team to get the wdc, and then they'll keep trying to get 1-2s for the hell of it. i sincerely doubt that they'll ever let either side of the garage use strategy to 'steal' earned track position, even if that's a normal part of racing.
