I hope these students will realise they were being antisemitic and that their actions were horrible, and change their ways, and if they were to be expelled for their actions I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't wish that for them.

you don't know these people, as horrible as they are to you, they're still human beings. each one has their own reasons to pursue higher education, and not all of them are there because they have rich parents. you don't know what getting expelled could mean for their future, and what having these protests on their records as the reason for getting expelled would do.

again, I'm not defending these people, if they were to be expelled, that's in my opinion a fair (and the most appropriate) punishment for their horrible actions (which incase y'all aren't informed, includes stabbing a Jewish student in the eye), but I don't condone wishing harm on others.

Well, as a Jew, myself, I have never said I think “Israelis are bad and Palestinians are good”. What I do think is that the Israeli government (along with the backing of the US government) is committing horrific war crimes against innocent Palestinian people.

I know very little about Roger Waters or his stances on various things, but from that article he sounds a little all over the place. So, perhaps BMG dropped him because of all of it, perhaps it was the Palestinian support that was the nail in the coffin. But I also know that in general these companies don’t really give a shit about what a terrible person you are (R. Kelly, Chris Brown etc etc) until you do something that directly affects them or their bottom line.

Although I appreciate the offer to look at things from another POV, I don’t really care enough about Roger Waters to delve into it. And I am honestly a bit worn down from listening to the pro-Israeli people in my life defending the Israeli government and settlers. So I hope you’ll understand the thank you, but no thank you, to your idea to discuss further.

you went from rape threats, stalking, and very rabid & violent forms of exclusionary rhetoric (which as far as i can tell you might still be engaging in) to this, here, now. you apologized for the rape threats/stalking and claim to have stopped. i am normally someone who genuinely believes in redemption and hates when past, apologized-for actions are hung over someone's head indefinitely. the problem is that you didn't just need to apologize; you needed to mean it. you needed to actually, truly examine the source of this disturbing, vicious rage and do some very serious deprogramming. and you BEYOND needed to step away from the harassment.

I was told over and over again that everyone I know would be happier if I were dead, and that I was a dangerous threat to everyone around me.

Third: If you're going to assume I'm a liar, you should expect the same in return. I don't believe that you "genuinely believe in redemption," with me as an unfortunate and grotesque exception. So I've said almost nothing about gaza.

Part of this is that I have been sick for like a month (a chain of bad colds or similar and depression bouts) and generally not spent much time on tumblr. I'm theoretically back now.

But beyond that. No one who reads this blog, which I may remind you is primarily about cute anime girls and occasional video games, needs me to tell them anything meaningful about this conflict, and if they did they would not be impressed by what arguments I might bring as the person who is maybe a little too into bunny girls.

In short, this isn't really a place where I politic because my experience is it is useless beyond the most basic actionable principles. I may occasionally vent or joke about politics, but frankly I hold no illusion that political discussion here on tumblr dot com matters even slightly, especially not for someone like me who has not built their blog and audience around it. At best I am echo chambering with others like me, but more likely I am just wasting energy getting frustrated and mad with idiots who wont listen.

But this site is political and, frankly, full of itself in the most annoying way. Anyone who knows me even slightly would already know my position but just to keep people off my back, I am going on the record as pro Palestine.
