okay but episode 9 of queen of tears is a lot about family and i think the commentary on all 3 families is super cool.
You see the Baek family just slowly integrate the Hong family into their lives. Feeding them, taking care of them, welcoming them when they get home. When Hyunwoo and Haein coming back from the hospital and everyone is like "let's go eat now” and they all walk back home together. Plus you see how supportive the community like the nephew promising Haein not to tell anybody or the grandma comforting aunty Beomja.
Then you see the Hong family realizing they don't have real friends as everyone has turned their back on them. Friends, lovers, they don't have anyone and they don't know how to comfort each other. Haein struggles to comfort Soocheol after his wife ran off, the father doesn't know how to reassure his own family. They are very much a family that doesn't know how to be a family.
Lastly is Eunsong and his mom which is unsurprisingly more fucked up than Haein's family. Abandoning your son for 25 years just so you can climb the social latter is crazy but getting shocked that he doesn't listen to you or respect you is crazier. Also the son is crazy he needs to be hit with a brick.

Preach to me Aro Dipper. Heh. Especially deriving from the show contents (like his crush on Wendy and Roadside Attraction)
Also, not sure if this also has been asked, but which is your fav GF episode?
literally stopped my titanic watch for this for a sec. preach aro dipper? well, baby, call me john of patmos, because im about to wax some sonnets while eating strange mushrooms. ;)
okay i tried to write an essay but No. instead we get bullet points i always am able to write bullet points easier. HERE WE GO--
- love god. 1) despite being super focused on romance and robbie's problems, we never hear about dipper's crush on wendy again. like--once the crush is addressed as unattainable, dipper drops it. its like that realization you had as a kid when the "crush" you had will never love you back, and you're relieved. you don't have to worry about it or put on anything anymore.
- while i dont doubt some of that crush was genuine, some of it could/must have been (subconsiously) ramped up. dipper convincing himself that he's got a Big Crush so he cant say anything to her, but really, he just wouldn't be ale to do it. even with the age gap and shit, he's kinda like "saving her feelings". hm
- roadside attraction. trying to give/force himself into romantic attraction FR. even tho it might be to "get over wendy" i dont buy it. he's at the "im a freak for not loving someone like that" stage i can TELL.
- dipper has that thing where he sees a girl, gives himself thoughts like "oh i definitely like her, i could see myself havibg a crush on her" and then doing the pick up line thing. its what i used to do ngl. hype myself up without knowing whether or not the feelings were Real, exactly
idk. god im so. scattered. but!!! aro dipper is so dear to me 😭😭😭 trust me on that. beautiful

I'm rewatching House because of the House renaissance on tumblr but also bec it was my fav show before I had The Accident 9 yrs ago...
And I'm actually so impressed at still feeling quite similar to the way I did then? Because it's not a perfect show, and certainly none of the characters in it are... But it's such incredibly compelling storytelling, and fascinating characterisation, and I love how much those aspects factor into every single episode... And how much the so called filler episodes actually factor affirm that.
I like how shit every single character is. Fallible, if you will. And I like how the seasons have space for funny things, and weird things, breathers for the spectators and the characters (and not always at the same time).
I just. I feel like the focus is so much on tight plots and brilliant stories to lure in viewers that all of that is gone? There's no... Space for silliness. Or weirdness. Or actually things that DON'T quite work.
And simultaneously, I think House is still a masterclass in character driven storytelling (in which the illnesses are a character too!). Certainly until idk Broken (s6).
Yeah the show plays into stereotypes! Sometimes in bad and/or gross and/or damaging ways! But it subverts them too! And the message is never, ever, to assume that the stereotype is the whole truth. Or that some people are impervious to it. I'm also not saying the way I watch the show is the way everyone does but idk I like the way it makes me think abt things. And I like how it STILL does that now and the only thing that's felt a bit dated so far is house's Gameboy... Maybe. He WOULD still use his gameboy anno 2024!

the fact that s1e6 is literally not only the winx going into cloud tower in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (probably like 12 or 1 am and they probably get back to alfea by 3-4 am? if i had to guess) and being faced with:
bloom getting tricked by griffin in the form of a trick book with HER name on it
the realization that cloud tower can SHAPESHIFT
LOTS OF BUGS
SLIME!
and tecna not only memorized the cloud tower map but also found out very quickly that THAT was actually useless!!!
