Dark academia style rich people. They have a pretty nice, big house in the middle of some land where they have horses and animals. Their house is very like 30s/40s style, with a huge library and stuff. They dress very posh and sophisticated.

-Dante and Gene

Very similar to Aphmau’s whole extravagant elegance style. Since they’re her cousins in my rewrite and all. And their whole family is like that. Slightly more colourful though, since their mother is just a very colourful person. So instead of rose bushes they have a variety of plants growing in their garden and they have super bright paintings and decor all throughout the house, whilst still maintaining a similar aesthetic.

-Travis

He’s pretty broke. So he doesn’t really have a rich aesthetic. Poor boy. He just dresses awkwardly and lives in a pretty average house.

-Jeffory

Similar to the Ro’meaves whole country club vibes. Only his family has got a slight bit more of a ‘oh we’ve been going to this one fancy school for generations’ to them. Very posh, very old fashioned, a mix of the country club and academia vibes. Like they have all these fancy events and do golf and have these huge manors, but at the same time they have these massive libraries and studios to read and paint and explore the arts. That’s like the general vibe they’ve got. If any of that makes sense.

Rachel’s side of the family are very glam, mix of Modern and old money that makes them look incredibly expensive.

But Derek prefers more modern looks. Not really a big fan of the glam vibe. He just wants something sleek and sophisticated.

Aaron himself just dresses like a normal person. Like hoodies and sweatpants because he hates the feeling of jeans. He’s just not all that bothered about the whole looking rich thing. He just wants to be comfy.

Can you explain who Haley Foster is and why she’s so famous in the Zutara fandom? I see that name a lot but I don’t really know who she is.

@hayleynfoster (i hope you don’t mind the tag and me gushing a bit <333) is a zutara shipper here on tumblr! she also happens to be a storyboard artist for disney, working on The Owl House, which I haven’t personally watched, but I’ve seen enough on tumblr to know the art style is gorgeous, and I’ve heard a lot of good things about the story!

She’s fairly well known for having created some zutara animatics (little animated scenes) during Zutara Week earlier this year, and more recently, for ZKFAW, she did two more, and got dante basco himself to read some lines for zuko in them! This one was from angst wednesday, a scene from i’m still here (which is one of my favorite fanfics and that scene in particular destroyed me, so getting to see it animated and hearing dante’s voice was just........a fucking spiritual experience ok), and this one was from something brewing, which I haven’t read but is absolutely on my list.

Also she’s done some amazing fanart and is in general just a sweet person and a lovely positive force in the fandom, we stan an absolute legend <333

oh to be a lone woman caught in a storm, shivering and alone as i knock on the door of a mysterious mansion in the middle of nowhere. The lady of the house opens the door with a sympathetic “oh you poor thing.” and immediately lets me in. My clothes are clinging to me from the rain and she lets me wear her own, they don’t fit well but keep me warm. She tells me the storm won’t be letting up anytime soon and sadly I must stay the night. How tragic.

Enzo looked up at his father with a happy-go-lucky look and asked to play catch with him and Amos.

Amos glared at his little brother and scoffed “We’re throwing at werewolf speed and since you’re just a human you can’t join!” He threw the ball past Enzo’s head to his father

Feliciano agreed with Amos and went back to ignoring his other son like usual “We aren’t gonna change up the game for one person, Enzo. That’s how the real world works”

Enzo’s face dropped and he walked away from them wiping some of his tears away

Enzo snapped back in to reality when Peter poured water on him “What the fuck!”

“The fuck you crying for?” Peter said looking down at him

Peter looked down at Enzo who was leaning against the wall with a sad look “The fuck is wrong with you?”

Enzo looked up with a sad puppy look “My parents are dead”

“Oh…I’m sorry” Chris said sitting down next to him

“I wanted to kill them and I didn’t get to” Enzo said with a pout “Did you actually think I liked my parents?” Enzo looked at him in shock and turned away from him

Enzo looked over at his mother who was ignoring him once again to tend to his older brother. Enzo tugged on Luna’s arm to get her attention so he could show her the wound he had “MOM! MOM!”

Luna snatched her arm away from Enzo “What do you want! Can’t you see I’m trying to fix your brothers clothes so he can go to school”

Enzo silently pointed to his face which had a gash opened on it “I cut myself with a knife by accident” He wiped the blood off of his nose and mouth with tears falling into the wound below his eyes

“Give me five minutes and I’ll-“

“I could die from this wound! Why is his clothes more important!” Enzo just grabbed a towel and pressing it on his wound. He stormed out of the house and went to the pack healer instead

Peter and Stiles were drawing on Enzo’s face when he opened his eyes again and smacked their hands away from his face

All in all, fuck Enzo’s family and Stan Dante and Dominik as Dante is nice to Enzo and Dominik has a valid reason for hating Enzo instead of his aunt and uncles reason of Enzo not being a werewolf like them

That first list still stands. Those are all films that made me go “oh you can do that,” or I just deeply connected with. I don’t like The Dreamers like that, but it was a major shock to the system to me almost 20 years ago. I feel like I would take 2001 off and replace it with a Bergman film. I like 2001, but it’s more an imposing spectacle than anything else. I prefer films that deal with people’s lives. I think that’s why I like Malick. He makes simply living a grand statement. I held myself to 10 for that first list, but The Dante Quartet belongs on it. In fact, instead of just choosing one Brakhage film, I’d just list his name.

Well they are both pretty hipster-y, with their knowledge of obscure plays in their second meeting. Which, like, who can blame them, I have hipster tendencies as well. 

Kvothe, plays: 

Kvothe is obviously a theater nerd. 

He stans Sondheim (he loves those impossibly hard musical arrangements)

he had a Hamilton phase (he’s a nerd about storytelling ofc he loves it) (and loved In the Heights when it first came out, it reminds him of his family)

and Spring Awakening (angry teenagers who want to KNOW things and be treated with RESPECT, heck yeah, he loves that show)

 He loves Shakespeare but tbh, half the reason he loves it is because all his work in in public domain and therefore free to use (Macbeth is his favorite but he’ll pretend it’s something more obscure like Winter’s Tale or something) 

Denna, plays: 

She knows less about musical theater culture, so a little less Pretentious in her likes 

Chicago (because she loves seeing women be like That) (also that aesthetic is great) 

Waitress (she really relates to Jenna and always wants to bake after listening to it)

And she has a soft spot for Grease because she wants to play Rizzo (imagine Denna singing There are Worse Things I Could Do) (is your mind blown?)

So I've been reading your fics for a while and it recently occurred to me, how would the painful death crew handle the events of break? Would it pan out the same way or do you think it would go down slightly different?

How would the PD Crew handle Break? As in one of them is Break!Virgil or as in being around when shit goes down? 

I’ve got Ram (PD!Remus but make it a fictive) here with me so... 

Ram: 1,Dante is a chill bro, and I stan them. We have the same music tastes and Dante is kind of amazing, anyway. I would die for polterdante/j 2, I would have ab-fucking-ducted Break!Virgil and/or PD!Virgil from that situation if I was around it if I didn’t fucking snap and try to kill Zillah for doing it. Like how does anyone not have the biggest fucking mental breakdown of their lives when they find that shit out? Rem says ‘same’. 

The thing about Vesper(PD!Virgil) is that if he was in Dante’s(Break!Virgil) situation, he might also put up with it until he found a safe way out. I mean I’ve met Zillah and the dude is kind of sneaky. He’s really nice with the kids and acts really normal other than murdering Dante on main on a fucking regular basis, giving me weird second-hand trauma? Dae says he regrets not going more into how Zillah acts in public vs. private? “At the beginning of the story they were at point of their relationship Zillah was isolating Virgil, so there wasn’t much opportunity to do so, but it would have enhanced the dismal atmosphere and shown more ways abusers isolate their victims.” 

Anyway, Ves in particular would have run off, eventually. He’s not great at finding red flags but he believes takes his friend’s word for it and would be more likely to listen to Logan when he notices things weren’t right. He’d run off without asking for help and just meet up his friends later like “my name’s jared i’m 19 and i’m now fucking homeless”. Rem would have thrown a bitch fit and started a fight. He would have gotten out of it bruised but got out nonetheless. He only tolerates that shit from his dad because minors don’t have many rights (Also just Rem’s ex-dad’s job). I think I’d be the most at-risk in that situation because stress obviously fucks up my mental state and I won’t make great judgment calls. Dante only hallucinates in the sensory dep thing. I, on the other hand, hallucinate all the fucking time and trust me that it’s really easy to let the delusions suck you up if you don’t have someone who can ground you. The delusions might of left me stuck in that situation for life. Oof. Vesper could have gotten me out, though, but I’m not allowed to go into why. Damien would have called the police on Zillah or fucking leave before he got in too deep. He’s just smart and capable like that. Dorjan (Break!Janus) was only in it for a few months before he fucked right out of that abusive relationship. I don’t think Damien would let a single thing pass, he’s got a serious amount of self-respect. Also, D’s parents are very nice. Part of Dante’s shit is his upbringing with his parents giving them a bad impression of how people should treat each other. And that’s not spoilers, it touches on it in the video call chapter.

My brother is a fucking flake but it is 5 in the morning so maybe he gets a free pass for not answering on his half of the cast. Something-something crying, I guess. Roan(Ro) might also be kind of at-risk since he really needs people to like him on a kind of dangerous level sometimes. I think Kal(Pat) and Liam(Logan) wouldn’t tolerate being in that situation as long as Dante did. Kal’s parents are actually decent and he knows red flags, and Liam is basically always looking for red flags. Paranoid little dude sometimes. They’re pretty ride-or-die for each other so they’d probably fight to get each other free, too. 

I agree with Break!Logan in that the only proper response to that situation is to get a spiked baseball bat and go ham. Though the security system on that house is extra and the narrative game for break kind of goes through why most of those options are a bad fucking plan. Poor Dante’s got it bad, even now. 

If we were backing up Dante we’d be rolling up with fucking swords and sweet, sweet dragon magic to take Zillah’s ass down. And Maybe also take Dante down to check them into residential. Imagine that conversation, though, right? “Hey dude we’re from another universe and this guy’s been abused and tortured for two years, please assist” and then we just fuck off back to our own dimension. Wild. Dae says he refuses to write crossovers, so my answers are technically “noncanon”, but I have a pretty good fucking idea, okay? Okay. He’s letting me answer because I’m answering “as an alter”, blah blah blah. IDK like I know Ruy and Ras aren’t old enough to read Break but I’d be interested in an adult Dreaming!Roman in that situation? I mean he’s tolerated some shit but those little fucks are creative and will likely do something completely over the top to get roman out because you know Ras would be like “are you serious with me get the hell out of there”. Maybe they’d somehow get the fucking plea vampires up in there??? You know Tempest and D aren’t letting Zillah get out of that alive. 

I’ve read Break and like what the fuck Dae but honestly we been knew that he’s a sick son of a bitch so that’s not news. Rebuild is wild as shit, too, have fun with that, guys. Daeram says it’s “difficult to edit because of the nuance of Dante’s situation”, but there’s a lot of chapters already.

Anyway, rephrase the question if I didn’t answer it right and maybe I can try again. Or whoever, I’m just the PD fuck that fronts the most lately because I’m supporting my bro Steve’s gay shenanigans.
