Spotify pirating setup! AWA CD-700 cassette deck from like 1976 that still runs like a dream (albeit with a temperamental fast forward due to stretched belts) and a Sanyo M-GR78 from the 90s that is a piece of shit but was also dirt cheap and works just fine for my purposes

#The deck is an off brand thing but the secret is all those 70s toploaders shared the mechanisms #So you buy a teac or a sony or an akai and pay premium prices #Or you buy something from a brand nobody has heard of like AWA or fairmate or thorn and it's dirt cheap and works all the same #All that 70s stuff is built like a tank anyway #The 90s portables are all garbage but that means they're readily obtainable and cheap #I have a handful I got on ebay on the way and plan to pick my fav to keep #And clean up and resell the others #This one is likely to go bc it is massively chunky and not really to my styling tastes #But! It means I don't have to have my phone for music. And once I record enough I will stop paying for spotify #My music taste is limited enough that 6 or 7 90 min tapes will be PLENTY
