no more "kon got his piercing by asking tim to use a kryptonite needle" (lies, straight up wrong, ignores the significance of kon's earring as a reclamation of his own bodily autonomy after being dehumanized to the point of being tagged like a lab mouse).
instead, if you want something about timkon and intimacy, listen. just picture tim "overthinker" drake in the jewelry store staring at two nearly-identical pairs of simple studs for a full 30 minutes as he tries to determine which would make a better gift for kon (he got overwhelmed by the novelty earrings rack. too many options). he knows why kon wears an earring instead of letting the piercing close up (kon likes the look, but moreover, it's about the fact that it's his body to do with as he likes). so picking the one kon would like best is important!!! he has to get it right!!! he needs to make sure kon has that special little smile on his face when he opens the gift box and understands how much thought tim put into it!!!
(coda: tim sees kon actually wearing an earring he bought him and runs into a mental blue screen of death, realizes he's staring, and then immediately climbs out the window.)
Hi! I just want to say that I like the new update for mushroom oasis! Can't describe it with my words but I really like your concepts for it!
I have a question to ask it's not a interesting one i think, why Mycehal call the mc firefly? It's pretty cute nickname but does he use it only mc when he found them?
Like i say it's not interesting one but i was curious, hope you have a good day and stay hydrated
Are you asking if he uses it only for MC, or for anyone he comes across? Personally, I think he only uses it for MC but it can also be accepted it's a given pet name to anyone he comes across (like how some people just comfortably refer to strangers as 'honey', 'sweetie', etc) and mean nothing by it. Both works ::-)!
Funnily enough there is a brief mention of why he uses it in the Day 3 script, so I don't think it makes the question uninteresting at all haha! Although that does mean it counts as spoilers (sorta) but he does explain why he calls you 'firefly' eventually ::-)
Then again I'm re-writing the Day 3 script so who knows, we'll see how it goes!
he is quite literally every techie's worst nightmare girl please stop touching the mic STOP TOUCHING IT. YOU DONT NEED TO CONTINUOUSLY BRING IT CLOSER TO YOU AND MOVING IT BACK THATS THE PERSON ON SOUND'S JOB. STOP IT.
look. not to be too mean on main. the rightful heir thing. if you don't care about the intricacies of property law or legal writs and just want to focus on characterization and other aspects of storytelling, fine.
but it truly does look very goofy when you start "debating" this while lacking historical context and methodological tools. sometimes a constitutional crisis (that was already resolved in the 12th century and whose results you can always look up) can't just be settled by appealing to one's anachronistic opinion and accusing those who disagree of misogyny.
there's a difference between suggesting how things should be (i.e. prescriptive, i.e. women should never inherit the throne) and analysing how things were for a myriad of socio-political reasons.
also, trust me, the Dance being fictional is not the gotcha people think it is. it's plenty obvious. i'm sorry to say but the premise is so flimsy it would never have happened like that irl.
final idea: likewise, perhaps being condescending about people who do take the time to criticise the premise is veering a little bit towards anti-intellectualism. 'idc about succession laws ergo i'm more enlightened bc i've unlocked an edgelord-y way to enjoy fiction'. a medievalesque fantasy setting is going to attract commentators who are interested in medieval history or at least aspects of it. they may find copy-paste scenarios from real history and think it interesting to compare and contrast. it's not immediately equivalent to treating aegon and rhaenyra like your ballot choices next election, and, equally, they're not discussions without merit.
comparative analysis is a transferable skill! if someone doesn't want to partake, fine, but i think this attitude of turning one's nose at it is a tad coarse. there are many fans who take the time to write informative posts and contextualise this fictionalised universe and it's a shame to automatically write-off what is ultimately a rich tradition in internet asoiaf spaces
Girl, help, the book authors are trying too hard to be "hip" with the fleeting "teen lingo" and trends again, immediately dating their works before they're even released
God i love Hireath so far. Like you don't understand how refreshing it is to find such a well written fabrication where Sun and Moon act like their in-game self. Also I live your asshole Sun like WOW he's amazingly written- the passive aggressive and straight up aggressive uncalled for behavior has me wild. Not even to mention Moon- he's my favorite character thus far. He's just a little prankster guy. He's just so him. Rrr I love your writing style and Y/N like yay! We have a backbone! Very good. Anyways, I will be eagerly awaiting the next chapter! Love your work!
WAIT HOLD UP. WAIT. YOUR HONOR. I'M SO FLATTERED OH MY GOD. THANK YOU!!!!!
My URL may be transgender chiroptera, but that's mostly because I'm trans! Please remember that non-human animals cannot be transgender in the way humans are because gender is a human social construct and animals have not got the same kind of constructs as us! With notable exceptions like seahorses, generally speaking stories of 'trans' animals are usually stories of intersex animals, so please mind your language regarding these phenomena, because intersex people are super important to discussions of gender and sex (which is ALSO a spectrum btw)! In that vein, please don't call intersex animals naturally nonbinary. that's not how any of this works.
Also, while I haven't looked into any specific examples, I am certain bats can be intersex (as can any animal really), because genetics love to do their thing and cause variation in animal's sex characteristics! I'm going to look further into it at some point, but I'm mentioning just to head off potential questions about it :>
examining a seemingly normal image only to slowly realize the clear signs of AI generated art.... i know what you are... you cannot hide your true nature from me... go back where you came from... out of my sight with haste, wretched and vile husk
one of the most annoying things in the world is when someone makes art dealing with the dark, sad, stressful, annoying, and upsetting parts of life and someone comments "can you make a version where theyre happy please it's making me too sad"
no. sit with the emotions. think about it and why the author made it and wants you to feel it too. engage yr empathy and human connection. not every piece of fiction is escapism and creatives don't owe you that. if you absolutely need this fictional character to be happy, make fanart and under no circumstances add it to the post.
repeat after me: details a creator has stated about their characters/stories/etc for a piece of media outside of said media is not canon.
the creators saying x thing about y character on social media/in an interview/etc can potentially give you insight on their intentions/ideas behind the characters development/personality/etc, and you can accept it as true to your views on the character- but its still not canon if its not in the actual source material.
the term youre looking for is "word of god." in fandom, thats used to describe the creators interpretation of the media. some will accept this into their own view of canon, and some wont. either way, it is not strictly canon, and should not be treated like an asbolute fact of the character/story (or whatever else the information was stated about).
and also remember, subtext and things "read between the lines" can and will always be interpreted differently across the fandom. no matter how "obvious" a detail about a character seems to you from subtext, other people will still garner something different, because thats the point of art. everyone will resonate differently with art and come away with different ideas about it for a multitude of reasons.
sure, some people may be forgetting something or outright ignoring something thats blatantly stated, but when it comes to subtext any interpretation is valid. even if it contradicts whatever the creators may say. art is a mix of both what the creator tries to tell in their story and what the viewer interprets from it. you have to accept that sometimes these will not always align, and thats perfectly okay.
(and also, dont forget something in one official universe doesnt mean its canon in all official universes of a piece of media- even if one is meant to be the same story in a different media form (like an anime adaptation of a manga) or a reboot).
