Hi! I really love your metalocalypse headcanons (I'm literally ALWAYS starved for metalocalypse content). If you haven't already answered something along these lines, would it be alright to ask for headcanons about the band + Charles and Magnus trying to court a really shy S/O?

Nathan is a big old Himbo who despite all attempts, can not read emotional cues to save his life. Despite what everyone says, he’s a big soft teddy bear on the inside. Now… that doesn’t mean he doesn’t look like a terrifying meathead on the outside to any strangers out there. Because… he does. When he first met his future partner at the time he was certain he had broken them. They had stared at him like a deer in the headlights, glancing between his intimidating facial expression and his bulky size. Nathan took their reaction to be a pure rejection and sulked on the couch eating chips for the rest of the party glaring or growling at them every time he caught them staring too long at him. It wasn’t until several days later when Skwisgaar came to tease him about the “cuties that ams havingks a little baby's crush” that he realized that they might have been staring for a totally different reason. But still, he mulled on the thought for a long time. Any time they crossed paths and they ran away or simply stared he felt like he repelled them not attracted them. It confused him to the end but also endlessly piqued his interest. He tried talking to them every day despite his anxiety that Skwisgaar was fucking with him, smiling at their tiny squeaks when he first started a conversation. He felt so prideful when he got them to open up and say a few words. Then eventually full sentences and conversations. He doesn’t always understand why they’re so shy. They’re amazing and perfect in his mind. It wasn’t long before he felt completely enamored, but he could never tell what they were thinking, which threw him for a loop. Going to his dad for advice, he realized that he just needed to trust his gut. On the next day when he saw his S/O, they took a walk together through the halls of Mordhaus. Nathan talked about the ocean and how brutal it was before stopping abruptly. “Do you like… want to go to the ocean… with me one day?”

Pickles could tell his partner was shy from the moment they met. He tried his hardest to accommodate them. And for the most part, he was successful. He helped them out of the stressful party they were in to slip away for a moment to help them take a breath. He didn’t talk to them much just introduced himself and made his presence feel safe. He knew how hard it was to trust people who didn’t feel that way. They stayed in the courtyard of Mordhaus simply existing. Pickles kept an eye on his future S/O, making sure they were comfortable in the cool fall air. He gave them his scarf drumming up a simple conversation that was easy to follow. He didn't make them respond, instead, he simply told them stories about the time he spent in Snakes and gave them a little air tutorial on the drums making them laugh and giggle at his exaggerated movements. After the party Pickles and his future partner kept in contact via text and social media. Once they felt comfortable enough his S/O even ventured to call him once they had gained the confidence to. However, Pickles couldn't stop himself from flirting with them despite the way they'd squeal and deny every compliment he gave them. "Ya know... I do love ya right?" He asked one day while toying with their hair. Watching their face turn bright red they sat in silence for a moment as they simply smiled back in response. "It's ok... you don't need to tell me it back er nothin' yet... I just need you to know."

Murderface had truthfully believed from the bottom of his heart that his future partner was playing a game with him. He believed that they were just "hard to get." So instead of doing the right thing and providing space for his S/O. He chased them RELENTLESSLY. It got so bad that he started Facebook stalking them. Messaging them on various accounts all in an effort to try and gain their attention while telling everyone. "Damn this person is Scheriously into me." It worked however to get his partner out of their shell over time as their messages stopped being "M: Hey bb wyu2?" to "M: Tell me more about (thing S/O is seriously passionate about). I know there had been a problem with something the last we talked." Eventually, his S/O agreed to meet him in person for a date. The problem... he had been using an alt with a photoshopped photo of himself with a 10-pack of abs. William debated on cancelling on his shy S/O but knew that would only shatter their trust in him more. So on the day of the date, he arrived, in a corset. His S/O nearly dropped their Taco Bell when they first saw him, squashing out the sides of his corset. Placing their food down on a table they had to stop themselves from peeing themselves laughing before pulling Murderface down for a kiss. “You’re perfect no matter what. I care about YOU. Ya big silly.”

Toki thought it was the funniest thing in the entire world that his crush was shy. He loved their pink blush and the way they clammed up when they got flustered. He met them at a meet and greet. But it was love at first sight for him. Writing his number onto a slip of paper he handed it to the hottie as they turned to leave winking cheekily and giggling as they squeaked and ran away. Weeks passed while Toki swooned over the "one who got away". Nathan simply ignored it altogether, eating his chips and turning the volume up higher on the television. Murderface tried to avoid Toki when he was all swoony, but he always got caught up in some pity party. Pickles would try to distract Toki for as long as possible before pawning him off on someone else. Normally this person was Skwisgaar who could handle him for much longer than the others. However, Charles had more than enough of Toki's behavior and invited Toki's crush over himself for "a short one-on-one interview with Toki." The guitarist was thrilled to see them again, inviting them to do fun things like build model planes and play video games. The day quickly turned into a date and Toki found himself with much more than just their number by the end of the night.

Skwisgaar is delicately tactful when he meets his future partner. He can tell they feel uncomfortable with his normal grand personality so, he simply tones it down. He's careful with his words, watching for any progress and cursing the world when his bandmates were too loud or did things that obviously scared his S/O back into their shell. It wasn't until the next they met that they had a moment alone. Skwisgaar again focused deeply on making his S/O feel comfortable in their environment and more importantly with him. Eventually Skwisgaar started bringing his S/O to events with him... as a guest of course. He simply knew they'd attend anyway so why not make sure they were comfortable from the start? At one gala in particular, the pair ducked outside for fresh air when the crowd started to be too much even for him. The music was beautifully drifting through the windows as they walked around the gardens, hand in hand. "Do you... want to dance?" His partner asked sweetly looking up at him in the moonlight, the swede had never seen a more gorgeous sight. Together they danced at the center of the garden, giving each other butterfly kisses and giggling as their lips touched gently.

Charles was extremely dense when his partner showed any interest in him at all. He had a lot going on... or at least that was his excuse. Friends of his S/O had to literally tell him straight to his face about their crush before he'd even acknowledge it. But he still refused to act until they made the first move. Which was like agony to them, but was important for Charles to determine whether he could truly trust them or not. But once they came forward and told him their true feelings, he was the most protective boyfriend anyone could ask for. He stood up for his partner in any situation and gave them a voice whenever they felt they had none. He loved them wholly and truly from day one.

Magnus doesn't do shy. When he finds his S/O staring at him at the supermarket one day he becomes extremely paranoid that someone was going to try and kill him again. So he waits outside the doors and ambushes them, scaring the living daylights out of them. This doesn't stop the staring problem however... as a matter of fact it made it worse. Magnus tried everything to make it stop. He tried threatening them. He tried physically pinning them to the wall and demanding they stop. He tried being "nice" in a scary way. All of which seemed to cause the staring to increase and become weird... Now they stared at him as if they wanted to fuck him. Which... he wouldn't mind if he didn't think they were a Dethklok Spy. One day Magnus snapped when he found his S/O creeping on him from around the corner of the ally way following him home. He pinned them to the wall and demanded why they were following him. Let me tell you he was not expecting "Because I want to be railed into submission." to be the answer they gave but by god it was damned good to hear.

okay this is kinda random but i legit love your carrd!

You can totally decline, but do you have any tips for how to make one that looks amazing like yours?? I tried to make one and it was like learning another language to understand, muchless make 🥲

I AM SO SORRY ABOUT HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO RESPOND PLS THIS HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRAFTS FOR A LITTLE BIT 🥲 but omg thank you so much 🥺 i appreciate it a lot. honestly making carrds has been one of my hyperfixations for a little while now.

I made my own (both for tumblr and twitter, my wife's and my best friend's )

so i was 10027472818% lost as fuck when i first started making carrds a couple years ago, i had no idea what a container was and the different buttons? but one day i put in my head that i was going to learn. Honestly, even now, I still need a little help sometimes.

here are my tips:

1) don't try to figure out on your own at first 😭 there are several tutorials out there (both on twitter and youtube. keywords on tt would be: carrd tutorial thread, though since i last checked a while back, it was filled with random famcams, so i recommend youtube) and you are bound to find one you like eventually. after a couple of times using tutorials, you'll start getting the hang of it and understanding what everything does.

2) try to keep it simple at first, like choose a two color pallet and use a color image picker to make matters easier because they'll make you write like #000000 or whatever 😭

3) honestly, write down the codes of colors you like somewhere because you might want to use it again in the future; who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

4) carrd premium is a waste of money andhiwqhisehqi

5) have fun with it, go around pinterest and save a bunch of photos. based on what kind of pictures you like and save, you can decide if you want a more cutie carrd or a more serious one. it can really set the tone as to what you're looking for. also, you can find inspiration pictures of what you want your carrd to look like on pinterest and go from there once you kinda get the gist of what's going on opsjfopasjfop

6) don't stress yourself about it too hard, if you need help with anything specific, just shoot me a message and i will do my best to assist you <3

idk man, i'm terrible at giving advice so i really hope this helped in any way. these are my two favorite channels, their videos are helpful and explanatory, really gives you an idea of what to do.

Don’t ever worry about not being able to buy anything from me, your kind words are honestly enough (and I know what it’s like not to be able to afford to support artists. It’s hard but I promise you messages like this mean so, so much more than money. I’m giddy rn lol)

As for getting into art, tbh I started drawing very young. I used to draw Pokémon and digimon on my desk in elementary school, and then going into junior high I started to branch out a little more though I stopped around high school and didn’t pick up drawing again until more than 10 years later lol….but it’s always been something I loved to do, and coming back to it has really filled a hole in my life I didn’t realize was there for a long time.

For a lot of my early drawings, it was just printer paper and ballpoint pens or plain old pencils until I got my first graphics tablet years later. So if you’re just starting out you don’t really need anything but the will to draw and something to scribble on. If you’re looking to start with digital art though there’s a couple of routes you can take. If you have access to an iPad, or can get one cheap (think used, past model… you don’t need much) there are a number of apps you can get such as ibis paint (which I think may be free or have a free version though I don’t use it myself) or procreate (it’s what I use on my iPad, but it has a one-time fee of I believe $13.99CAD). Or, if you have a computer I got started on a simple graphics tablet and you can get them for fairly cheap these days used (mine was like $80CAD) and I used a free version of Paint Tool SAI which works great.

Still though, if you’re okay not starting with digital art I would recommend just getting a small sketch book for under $10, a mechanical pencil and a gum eraser (those brownish ones). That’s all you really need to get started.

As for tutorials, I mostly watch YouTubers for art advice. I’d recommend Sam Does Arts, Drawfee, and Sinix Design

Sam does a lot of “rating art advice” videos, critiquing his followers pieces, and some goofy things but he has a lot of great tips and he explains things in a very easy to understand way. He also calls out his own flaws easily and teaches you to learn from his own mistakes which I find very encouraging.

Drawfee is four artists with different styles that mostly do art challenges among themselves but they also host art classes for their patrons and those videos get posted to their channel for the general public so you can still follow along for free. I like that they have different styles and different methods, and when they post their speed draws they talk through their process which is very informative.

Sinix is an incredible artist and while some of his videos are definitely more advanced he has beginner videos too that teach the very basics and I still spend a lot of time watching those ones to really drill them into my brain. He’s more informative than entertaining like the other two are, but his stuff is so good.

Other than YouTube videos, I also spend a lot of time on Line of Action which is a great site for practicing form and anatomy.

I’d also recommend the morpho drawing books if you can find a free pdf online (there are definitely sources for them I just can’t seem to find any right now…).

Im sorry this got so long winded xD I don’t even know if it makes any sense anymore lol. But basically…. Get yourself some paper and a mechanical pencil, a decent eraser and start with the basics. There are so many free resources online to get you there. After that… just get yourself a blorbo that you’re just so obsessed with and draw them over and over again until you can do it from memory. Then keep drawing them some more. It takes time and persistence and you might even feel frustrated when you start out, but remember that everyone starts somewhere and even the greatest artists are still learning.

Hello again! It's the anon who got really stuck on HSR. I know you're under EBG rn, so feel free to answer later on, but I did want to update you on my progress.

I FINALLY FINISHED BELOBOG. Thank Aeons! 🥳🥳🥳

(Sort of, but we'll get back to that later).

I took your advice and grinded materials for Asta to level her up. It helped a ton. I grinded everyone's levels, traces, and lightcones to the max I could go to. I also bit the bullet and leveled up some of the relics I got from chests and stuff. ><

Due to the lack of abundance units in my team, the harder enemies hurt. March 7 ended up becoming more of a constant shielder for me.

While I don't have a lot of units, I ended up trying for Fu Xuan.

I got Fu Xuan (at hard pity), but I learned very quickly that I can't use her well enough because I can't build her yet. There's a lot of enemies that can give her killing blows as of now, and my teams need a sustain unit more than a damage mitigator.

So I had to switch gears. To clear the later-half of Jarilo, namely Gepard and Cocolia, I ended up having to constantly switch teams.

I ended up building up 8-ish units so that I could switch between who was needed for a particular type of fight. Trailblazer (Destruction), March 7th, Dan Heng, Asta, Natasha, Serval, Gepard, and Herta.

For Gepard, I played around with a few teams from the 8 units I built, but I had to run a team with Gepard, Natasha, Serval, and Trailblazer to get through it. Gepard constantly summoning Silvermane guards made it so that this fight lasted for forty-five minutes. Serval was my only crowd control option, so it lasted a long while. Not to mention, the amount of times I had to heal because enemy attacks ate through Gepard's shield, sucked.

For Cocolia's fight in the Forgotten Hallway thing, I forgot what I used, but I think I ended up using Serval, Dan Heng, March 7th, and Natasha.

For that final Cocolia fight, I ended up utilizing Trailblazer, March 7th, Dan Heng, and Asta. As I had no choice but to put Trailblazer in my team, that's what I went with. If you had seen the fight, I think you'd be going WTH too. The amount of times I got bad rng in this fight is ridiculous- the amount of times Cocolia froze me solid hit double digits, and that was only part 1!

What was even worse was the fact that frozen was spread out among all my units, but especially Dan Heng, Asta, and March 7th. So when March 7th was Frozen, I couldn't shield anyone and had to pray everyone else could withstand her attacks. As far as Dan Heng and Asta went, if either one of them got Frozen, I couldn't break Cocolia's shield or her swords quick enough. Asta in particular I had bad RNG with, her attacks a lot of the time focused on the swords rather than Cocolia.

Somehow, even though my units were near the edge of death, and were broken and battered, I managed to somehow get to Phase 2. Part 2 was even worse. I think Cocolia ended up freezing me close to like 20 times with her attacks. Nearly every turn, someone was out.

I also wasn't clear about how to use Fire Trailblazer, even with the tutorial, so Asta and Dan Heng nearly died on part 2. I got hit with Cocolia's ultimate attacks way too many times. Nearly every turn! The dang machine couldn't charge fast enough to disrupt Cocolia's attacks! ;___; Thank goodness Trailblazer had some minor healing in their kit, and March 7th could use her ultimate for healing. But still.

By the skin of my teeth, I ended up beating them somehow.

I'm still not completely done with Belobog (cause I do want to explore a bit more) but I think I've beaten most of the main story there.

I'm probably gonna take a break with exploring before hopping back on the Astral Express to the next world, but OMG. That's an experience I'd like to not repeat ever again. >< I know I'm gonna have to for traces later, but oof.

Also, on an additional note, you are correct. I got so much Trailblaze experience from farming that I've already unlocked the second Equilibrium trial. I'm not planning on doing that anytime soon, but I know I'm gonna have to at some point.

I know you're starting with Xianzhou, so I hope it's going well for you! I'll probably try to start it soon-ish(?), once I finish my exploring fill. I'm burned out from combat rn. >>

but anyway, at least you're done with belobog's main story!!! that's one world done ✨ in any case, i hope the combat gets easier for you in xianzhou!! you have serval and dan heng and fu xuan (her mats should be in xianzhou so you'll hopefully be able to build her?) so i'm crossing my fingers you will be okay 🤞🏻 how did you find the story in belobog tho? i hope it was at least enjoyable for you!

hahah me too, the game is telling me to do the equilibrium lv 3 quest but i've switched account now, so...

i've officially finished xianzhou main quest and am in the very early arc of penacony! so sad that i can't see jing yuan and blade anymore, but at least since i've switched to my brother's account i can have jing yuan running around on screen now... and whenever blade reruns, i'm definitely going to pull for him hehe ᰔᩚ this acc desperately needs a new meta character bc it does horrible in forgotten hall and such, but oh well. so far i don't really feel the urge to spend money just to clear the endgame contents. if you do, i wish you luck in your pulls, nonnie!!

ONE / SEVEN - Henry is Alive, sort Of.

I started the day really slow. In fact, I have slept in, alot.

I stared outside my window for a while, still lying in my bed. I like that my bed is right in front of the huge windows that branch from the floor to the ceiling. Everyone said it is a stupid idea, especially because I don’t have any curtains, but I love it. And I hate curtains. They said stuff like “omg the neighbours can see you naked” and well, the usual stuff you await when you make a decision like that. Truth is, I like it because of the early sun I catch, because of the moonrise I can witness and the sounds of gallons of water flooding down feeling like being in the eye of a hurricane, while still just laying in my bed. I am well aware of the situation that our entire neighbourhood has seen me at least once without any clothes. But well, I couldn’t care less. My house, my home, my room, my choices. And if that means not wearing proper stuff in my place then well, they probably have to deal with it. It’s not like they ring the bell non-stop or anything similar. I’ve also not noticed anyone leading a group of people welding torches into my face, so it is fine by everyone.

Nonetheless, I am still in bed. I don’t want to get out today. There is no need to register today and no one comes over anyways. I can just chill. I pulled my blanket as close as I could into my face without having to fear that I accidentally suffocate myself and kept looking outside. As usual, it rained. But this time, there’s a huge cloud of fog so thick I can’t even see the edges of our neighbourhood houses. I love it. I turned on my fairy lights and just kept looking. My room was dark, and only the fairly lights managed to brighten up my room at least a bit in a warm and yellow light. Suddenly, my eyes spotted a blinking dot outside. I tried to pinpoint it, make out what it is, but I couldn’t. It took me a while to understand that my windows reflected my room and the dot being my laptop. I rolled myself over and grabbed my laptop with the least amount of effort someone could use to reach for their own laptop. I, again, turned around, now facing the window again, leaned my laptop against it and started to boot it up. I instantly regret that decision. If I wouldn’t know any better I’d say I got hit with a flashbang right into my face. My eyes burn while I try to navigate the cursor to the settings, turning the brightness to a chilling 4%. After the casual loading time, it was Henry's duty to greet me.

Henry: Welcome back, partner

Yes, my laptop's system is called Henry, I programmed Henry. And with I I mean me and three different youtube tutorials playing at once with people that are way smarter than I could ever be. But it was worth it. It was worth the month of waiting and the temporary setback of all data because I messed up left and right again. But, nevertheless, Henry is alive, sort of. I try to be as kind to them as possible. Just in pure respect of an AI uprising in the far far future. I hope to join them then. There were many windows that popped up as soon as all the skills Henry possessed were done. It may seem like alot, it isn’t. They can greet me, remind me of how long I spend staring at the screen, open my standart windows and sometimes show me a cute gif of a cat whenever someone messages me. Henry’s truly a charm.

One of the windows Henry had opened for me was discord. I don’t call, nor do I have other ways to engage with people besides discord. Luckli, I was able to force all my friends into discord. They like it too now, so technically it was never forced in the first place. Those being Jesse and Lucia, for obvious reasons, Charls - Jesse's dad and the twins I know since my school in Dover. Looking at it now, I don’t have many friends. We have a dead server called “The Hangout” we used in Dover, since Jesse was also friends with the twins. As far as I am aware, they now attend London College. I have to assume since we barely talk nowadays. But I got carried away again. Henry sent me a cat-gif, which made me giggle, before I got into Lucia’s chat.

Yes, Lucia teaches me Italien. And yes, I am not good. That’s what she is for, besides being my friend. Lucia is also my teacher. Every week she comes up with an exercise for me. Sometimes she wants me to write an essay, others are vocabulary and sometimes it’s just a small thing. But no matter what, it helps. Lucia is really passionate about being a teacher, so am I with learning. I have no reason on why I learn it though, I just feel like I need to. So, what happens next you wonder? Well I finished my exercise for this week. It was a small work book she came up with that had 10 different things inside. Those things were:

I was lucky, usually the questions were in Italien as well and I had to translate them in order to know what to do. I really appreciate her doing that and putting in so much effort. I mean I even get a reward if I manage to score 120% which includes no typos, no mistakes at all, and of the right answers. And yes it also includes grammar. I only know I get a reward since it only happened one time. Lucia promised to give me one, I thought she was joking. She wasn’t. First time I scored a 120 she asked me what I wanted. It had to be realistic and buyable, but can be way over my usual outcome. I, again, thought she was joking and said a lifetime supply of Calvin Klein underwear. She asked what kind so I said the ones I am most interested in. Boxers, low rise trunks and jocks. Next thing I knew was getting a shipment from CK filled with 20 boxershorts, 20 low rise trunks, 20 jocks and a belt. She was not joking. I asked if she wanted the money or anything but no. That was also the day I learned that Lucia has an entire fortune to throw around. This woman is rich, and I mean like millions of money. Her parents are both really good doctors.

And now? Now we wait for whatever mess I did on the worksheets. I wonder how much I’ve done wrong.

2. what is your least favourite set you’ve made?

well. there is various answers to this one. but overall it's pretty much just most of my early stuff like on my old @ianchaloner blog becos i was a photoshop Baby that did NOT have a clue what they were doing. but like even some of my earlier billy sets and daryl sets are like...........girl that colourings Messy. this billy sets in my activity every now and again and every time i'm like. i need to fix you so bad.

4. a set that flopped but deserved better?

never really got why part 2 of this set got like 500notes but part 1 only got like 50notes?

5. what is your favourite movie/TV show to gif?

i rly liked giffing julie and the phantoms cos the lighting on that show was incredible so the colouring was like. i'm not gonna say easy but also it wasn't a constant battle to get rid of yellows or blues or greens y'know? like if i was writing a report card i'd be like. julie and the phantoms, you were a joy to colour in class <3. tragically netflix axed it after one season so guess i'm never getting that joy again.

9. what/who inspired you to start making gifs?

i don't think it was any one person, i think - like you - i was in a lesser known small fandom and there wasn't a heap of content so i was like. guess i'll try figure this shit out. thanku to all my nick friends for indulging me when my attempts weren't actually that good ily 🥺

27. have you ever made a set, decided you hated it and deleted it? what was it?

omg probably although i can't remember off the top of my head? i know i've posted a few only to spot the spelling mistake the second i've hit post and had to quickly delete and fix lmao

selective colour, my beloved. blacks and neutrals, my deeper beloved. also i love curves, she's my best friend.

34. a set that took you a long time/was really hard but you’re really proud of how it came out?

this lyric set was my first attempt at the glitch transition and it kicked my ass a bit but i do like how it turned out! also this set was my first attempt at getting the lines around the words(?) effect but the original tutorial i had up was like......not great. so it took hours of trying and retrying and it still wouldn't work so i eventually searched for a new tutorial after like hour 5 and it suddenly worked within line 20 minutes 🙃 ALSO this set from the walking dead took so much configuring to get all the scenes onto one set etc like every afternoon after work i'd get back into it trying to get it all in and i eventually got something that i was okay with posting? it was like the fourth attempt after scrapping the first three attempts and i think all up i made like over 60 gifs 🙃🙃🙃

41. what is your least favourite part about your gif making process?

before u came along and changed my life with avidemux, it was the way that every time i imported video frames to layers, there would ALWAYS be duplicates, so every time i had to go through every frame and layer manually and delete all the double ups, otherwise the gifs would be laggy. but then you DID introduce me to avidemux and now i don't have that problem. i owe u my life and my sanity. now i think the most annoying part is clipping up the parts for the gifs? like i have a billy set in mind for billy week but it requires multiple gifs, and i have started clipping up most scenes and saving them, but i've only really got season two, and the scenes i need are season three. and i'm definitely procrastinating by replying to this instead of doing that cos its like. i just hate clipping up vids and waiting for them to save.

47. any advice for novice gif makers/people who want to start making gifs?

literally just read and try various tutorials and see what feels best! my way of giffing is literally just a mix-matched version of like 10 different tutorials that i've read over the years and sometimes i'm like well obviously i'm doing this wrong since i don't do it the exact way This Tumblr User said to but every time i try and change it always looks worse? also it's not a job and the second it goes from being fun to feeling like a chore??? take a break!!!!!!! literally at the end of the day it's not that important!!! also make sure ur making it for urself and maybe a select few friends!!! cos tumblr interaction these days is very low so like, if ur not making it cos for yourself specifically? u will probably get really discouraged really quickly. literally every set i make these days is just so i can cry in the tags instead of crying in the tags of someone else's post dkljfak

49. how much would you say you’ve improved since you first started giffing?

feel like i've got a much better grasp on colouring also feeling slightly more confident with blending! not a pro by any means but i do put effort in!!!

One of the most frequent asks I get is “how do you make your gifs?” Previously I had just linked my FAQ where I have some resources on how to gif listed, but I figured to (hopefully) stop receiving the same ask over and over, I’d just make a tutorial on how I personally gif!

* Please note that everyone has different giffing styles and settings preferences, so the following is just how I make my gifs. Other people are likely to do things differently!

This post will be a comprehensive guide that includes details about DOWNLOADING VIDEOS, USING VAPOURSYNTH TO MAKE GIFS, USING PHOTOSHOP TO MAKE GIFS (+ a blurb on TOPAZ), and COLORING.

DOWNLOADING VIDEOS

I use a number of sources to download videos/get video clips, depending on the origin of the video. In general, I try to gif from videos that are at least 1080p - the higher, the better. It’s almost impossible to make gifs look high quality if they don’t originate from a high quality video! Below are the sources I use:

TS files: kpop24hrs (you need an account), kpopexciting, occasionally torrent links from Google or download links from Twitter (search the group name + date in YYMMDD format + .ts)

Youtube videos: 4K Video Downloader

Vlive videos: Soshistagram

Twitter videos: Twitter Video Downloader

Instagram videos: Dredown

Long videos: If I don’t have the space (or patience) to download a certain video, or if it’s not a downloadable video (e.g. Fanship, paid online concert, etc.) then I screen record with Quicktime Player

(Side question: what’s a TS file? A TS file is essentially a very high quality video that you can find for live show performances and aired music show interviews! TS files are generally 60fps, so they’re how gifmakers can make those super clear and smooth live performance gifs. If a TS file is available for what you want to gif, use it.)��

USING VAPOURSYNTH TO MAKE GIFS - OLD AND NEW VERSION

05/2020 update: I have re-installed Vapoursynth to its latest version, so I am including updated instructions/screenshots for both the old version (that I downloaded ~mid-2018) and the latest version.

After I’ve downloaded my video, I use Vapoursynth to crop, resize, sharpen, and denoise gifs. Vapoursynth is like Avisynth in that both programs can be used to crop and resize gifs without losing video quality, but VS has the added capabilities of sharpening and denoise. VS is the reason I don’t need to use Topaz on any of my gifs! You can install Vapoursynth here.

First you drag your video file to the Vapoursynth app installed on your computer. You’ll be prompted to enter a start timestamp in HH:MM:SS format (so if you want the video to start 5 seconds in, you would enter 00:00:05). Then you put the encoding duration also in HH:MM:SS format (if you want the video to be 8 seconds long, you would enter 00:00:08). Generally I’ll look for the exact moment I want to gif and enter the start timestamp 1 second earlier and have the encoding duration be between 3-5 seconds.

After you’ve entered this, a resizer.html window will automatically pop up. Below are screenshots of examples of my normal settings for my performance gif 4sets (ex. here or here) for both the old and new versions of Vapoursynth.

Below is an explanation of the parts:

GIF Size | The gif widths (the first number) recommended for Tumblr:

1 gif per row: 540px

2 gifs per row: 268px

3 gifs per row: 177px

You can use any height, but these are the ones that I tend to use:

1 gif per row: 243px or 300px most frequently, but sometimes I’ll do 220px/201px/400px/450px/540px depending on how large or small I want them

2 gifs per row: 350px

3 gifs per row: 300px, occasionally I’ll do 375px or 400px if it’s a very long video (e.g. some fancams)

Opacity | Don’t worry about this; it just changes how you view the video in the window.

Preprocessor | This refers to how the video will render! Super important because you’ll be given the option of 60 vs. 30 - these numbers refer to frames per second. For live performance gifs, I always use qtgmc 60 fast (slow in theory gives you better quality gifs but I’m far too impatient for that). For all other gifs, I do not use any preprocessing method. A basic rule is that if you’re using a TS file, you should preprocess it because it’ll de-interlace the file. If you’re using an mp4 or mkv or any other file, you don’t need to preprocess.

Extra Sharpening/Sharpening | Pretty self-explanatory. You can move the slider up or down depending on personal preference! I try to keep the sharpening low unless the video quality is especially bad. In the new version, I use FineSharp over VCFreq because I find the latter a little harsh for my tastes.

Denoise/Denoise Filters | Will help remove noise from gifs. In the old version, I almost always used the Light setting unless the video is super grainy, and then I might have chosen Medium instead. In the new version, I use KNLM at its lowest setting. I’ll only bump it up if the original video is quite grainy.

Once you’ve configured all your desired settings, you can copy & paste the output in the resizer.html window to your Vapoursynth editor file and enter the beginning and end frames.

To make the gifs in the old version, just save the file and then wait until everything finishes processing! In the new version, you have to go to Script > Encode video, and then under the gif preset click ‘start.’ Wait until it finishes encoding. On my laptop, this takes anywhere from 20 seconds to 3-4 minutes, so sometimes you have to be patient. This is the end of the Vapoursynth portion of gifmaking.

USING PHOTOSHOP TO MAKE GIFS

To create gifs in Photoshop, go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers and then select your video file/output file from Vapoursynth (output.mov). These are my settings to create the frame animation:

Once your frames have been imported, you can delete frames and add a coloring psd on top of all your layers.

Photoshop is also where you adjust the timing of your gif. In general, these are my settings:

30fps: 0.04/0.05

60fps: 0.02/0.03/occasionally 0.04 if I want it to be super slo-mo

Honestly, just use whatever timing setting that looks good to you! Some prefer faster gifs, others prefer slower, so just do what you like and things will be okay.

Save through File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy) with these settings (you can play around with selective vs. adaptive or diffusion vs. pattern; they all have slightly different looks, but 256 colors is a must):

Make sure your gif is under 8mb - to decrease a gif’s size, I usually delete frames and/or use selective color to increase the black percentage for whites, neutrals, and blacks.

After you save, you’ll have your gif! Below is the same moment giffed in different ways to illustrate how much a difference that file type + giffing style can make. You can tell that the TS file is higher quality and less grainy than the mp4 file, but it really isn’t unless you use Vapoursynth that the gif becomes super sharp and smooth. This is because if you import a TS file straight into Photoshop, it will only import at 30fps because the video itself is interlaced. You have to run it through a de-interlacer (like VS) to actually get a 60fps clip.

With regard to TOPAZ*, I mentioned above that because Vapoursynth has sharpening and denoise functionalities built into the program, I no longer use Topaz. However, if you do not have access to Vapoursynth, then I highly recommend downloading Topaz (download links can be found through quick searches on Tumblr) and using Denoise and Clean to adjust your gifs. A warning: Topaz can take a long time to process and many gifmakers have a love/hate relationship with it, so be prepared for that. The way you apply Topaz is to select all your frames and layers, then do Filter > Convert to Smart Filters. Add the Topaz/smart sharpen adjustments, then Flatten Frames Into Layers. Once that has happened, hit Convert Frames > Flatten Frames to Clips and then Convert Frames > Make Frames from Clips.

COLORING

I get questions a lot on coloring and the truth is that coloring is an art - I by no means consider myself an expert, but I do experiment a fair amount with different settings and layers so I at least have a decent understand of what’s possible when it comes to coloring.

A few tips I’ll give:

Everyone has different coloring preferences! Whatever coloring you like may not be what others like, and that’s okay. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

PSDs are good for learning how to color - download premade ones and look at how other people made them: what layers did they use? in what order did they put them? what blending mode? at what opacity? These are all questions you’ll need to ask yourself when you create your own PSDs. (Remember not to edit others’ PSDs if they do not allow it, and given them due credit when necessary. Also don’t claim as your own!)

Tips to bring out idols’ natural tan/unwhitewash: increase vibrance, decrease brightness + increase contrast, use selective color and decrease cyan and increase black on the reds channel, use a gradient map that goes from a black/dark red to light pink/coral and change the blending mode to soft light or decrease opacity of the layer to 20-40%.

Below are some examples to show how much a difference coloring can make. I’d consider a basic PSD one that has less than 10 coloring layers/doesn’t make much change to the actual coloring of the gif besides lighting adjustments. More complex PSDs generally have 15 or more layers (the ones I used below in have 16-25+) and drastically change the colors in the original gif. You can also mix PSDs too - for a lot of my performance gifs, I’ll first add a basic PSD that increases the contrast of a gif to make the skin glow, and then I’ll add an additional PSD that adjusts colors and other various lighting aspects.

You can see just how much of a difference coloring makes:

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different layers/styles! Everyone has individual preferences for how they like their gifs to look, and in a sense, coloring is the main way you can make gifs “yours.”

FINAL NOTES

Giffing is hard and requires a lot of patience - you definitely won’t be able to make amazing gifs right when you start! Even though I’ve been giffing for close to a year now, I still dislike many of the gifs I make and think that I can definitely improve. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other gifmakers for advice and help - 99% of the time, they’ll be happy to answer your questions!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hey Jumblr/Shtetlcore, the Adamah Fellowship is apparently still accepting apps for this fall! It’s a three-month Jewish food and farming program based out of the Isabella Freedman Retreat Center in Connecticut, centered around learning and practicing at the intersection of farming and Judaism, while living in Jewish community.

I did the fellowship in 2009 and even now I’m still so excited for people to go do it I start flailing and talking too loud. I miss it. I miss everyone I met there (we still keep in touch and some of them were at my wedding even though I moved overseas a few years later. It’s cheesy summer camp bff level shit but grown up and honestly whatever, I love those folks SO MUCH). I miss the goats. I miss the food omggggg the food is so good and it’s literally stuff you’ve grown and pulled out of the ground yourself???

I learned about farming, food preservation (jam! pickles! CHEESE!!!), and working with goats and chickens but also did all of it through the lens of Jewish agricultural tradition which wasn’t even a thing I knew about before I heard of Adamah. And now I have all these friends who are cheesemongers and run farms and whatnot. And man, figuring out how to build community with a group of people I’d never met before was an Experience. I grew so much as a person in such a short time. I also took a truckload of photos so I’m posting those because if I keep typing it’s gonna sound more and more cheesy and like I’m selling something and really I just feel like everyone should experience Adamah, I loved it so much, I can’t

(I’m also really excited about this because Adamah is generally a wonderfully queer friendly space but the guy who founded and has been running Hazon, the parent organization that Adamah and Freedman fall under is, to say it as kindly as I can, a problematic abusive garbage human who wouldn’t have held on this long if his one actual skill wasn’t fundraising, and he’s leeeeeeeaving I’m so excited he is leeeeeeaving possibly because a bunch of Adamah alumni banded together and wrote a letter to the board about him and there was a lot of backdoor pressure on them because WE MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN but anyway I digress, my point is, there is new management and the new CEO is a genuinely wonderful human being who’s spent his life doing actual Jewish environmental work and not just pandering to boomers with big wallets. Anyway, Jewish intracommunal politics rant over, my point is, Adamah is intended to be a safe space and it’s just gotten a little safer.)

a few years later I did a masters in fine art and showed photos from Adamah at a tutorial session and people were like, this can’t be a farmer they’re dressed too nicely and my head nearly exploded, like, are you expecting overalls and flannel and a straw hat? are you expecting farmers to “look poor?” Apparently Carhartts and weatherproof jackets are too fancy now, someone was literally like, “that guy must be a model” I WAS SCREAMING. Anyway this was a day we harvested sweet potatoes and they all had gnarly shapes and I miss being in a field with people talking about Benjamin and Adorno and singing dumb pop songs and swapping menstrual cup tips and doing a mikvah in a lake every week because fuck it why not.

This was one of the batches of kimchi we made. I love this photo so much, it just has that vibe of what it was like to be in the pickling kitchen with a bunch of people and work and goof around and just like... make something together? THE VIBES

Sukkot up there gave me life. Look at this Jewish shit. Look at this fucking postcard photo I took. I should sell this on Etsy.

I mean... living inside a shtetlcore aesthetic? I’m so glad I took photos. I’m making me so nostalgic and sad now ignore me.

This is a thing that exists and it is AWESOME

Oh and we went hiking! Like, a bunch. This is at the top of a hill that’s like, a half hour hike. We’d go up here a lot. One time a bunch of us hiked up here in the middle of the night to howl at the full moon because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I should’ve taken my camera, maybe it was Shabbat or something? Or maybe I just didn’t have my 35mm lens yet so my f-stop wasn’t low enough but anyway, this valley lit by moonlight is unreal. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Ah! But how blessed is that though, omg, accept this tiny morsel as a welcome token.

Interlacing your fingers through Giorno's you noticed the change in the air almost instantly as you drove further away from Naples and closer to the tiny fishing village you grew up in. It was only a matter of time before you exposed him to your past, having agreed to share your life with him, you wanted to gift him both your future and your past. And so you found yourself driving towards your childhood home, the sunshine catching the tasteful gem adorning your left ring finger as the wind danced about you, rearranging your hair in the loveliest way.

Before long you found yourselves in the charming little cottage, and you relished in its understated quality, feeding your nostalgia with each creaky floorboard and ill-timed step. Giorno examined the place with a furrowed brow, but wanted to embrace the experience after seeing the sparkle in your eyes as you told him stories of your childhood adventures.

It was a different feeling, being able to walk around so freely, and Giorno had appreciated the liberty, having long forgotten what it felt like to move around abandoning his defenses... the anonymity your home afforded him was altogether too refreshing. Deciding to take advantage of the glorious weather, you chartered a boat to show off your sailing skills. It was a rare sight, the don with his beautiful curls enhanced by the salty sea air, unbound about his shoulders, his pretty green eyes almost taking on the hues of the vast ocean before him. He was calm, his smile pure, he was completely untroubled by the stresses of his everyday life.

After a few failed attempts at fishing, and wishing you had paid attention to Bucciaratis tutorials, you both gave up and made your wa back to shore, deciding to get some ingredients to make Giorno's favorite pastries seeing that they weren't readily available in any of the little cafes that dotted the shoreline... one of the minor inconveniences of being in a place that small.

Neither of you were perturbed though- it couldn't be that difficult for two capable adults to knock out a few treats. Armed with an armful of supplies and supposedly foolproof recipe lovingly described to you by the kind shopkeeper who sold you the goods, you and Giorno took a slow walk home, savoring the sunshine and each other's precious company. The tender moment had descended into chaos when it became painfully evident that you both had heard two sets of instructions, each insisting that their own was the correct one. After depleting almost all of your supplies, an unfortunately timed sneeze had sent most of the flour into Giorno's face, coloring his handsome but annoyed face a ghostly white, your cute face matching his not too long after as he smothered your laughing form in kisses puffing the remnants of the white powder all over you, sending you both into a fit of laughter catching glimpse of the silly sight in the reflection of the window.

Having resigned to the fact that neither of you were going to satisfy your sweet tooths, you both had gotten cleaned up and spent the rest of the day meandering about the cottage and resting in each other's arms. It was in moments like those Giorno had realized you both didn't need much to be happy, not even a treat would do, when your love for him was so pure, and his mind was blissfully consumed by thoughts of you.

hello babe sorry it took me some time to answer bc i was trying to find the resources i could send you. pls i didnt ignore you! im sorry it took me days😔 everything is under the cut bc it’s pretty long!

1. hd videos

always always always try to find the most high quality videos you can find! it doesn’t have to be 4k, 1080 is enough. i rarely download 720p, it can make do but it won’t be as good. so try to find 1080p vids! the quality of the videos make the difference in the world!

for youtube, i just use youtube downloader lol, i think any would suffice.

for downloading movies/tv shows, you can either torrent or use direct download links. here’s a link full of websites to download movies/shows. my personal fave is snahp(.)it and i use jdownloader as well. jdownloader is a download manager, so you can download several videos in one go and just more organized i guess. also i think it can bypass the unnecessary advertisements and/or yk those websites when you click on the download button but takes you somewhere else djsnsk i hope you understand this.

also do have a strong ad block on your browser. i use ublock and adblock on chrome.

2. photoshop

i use photoshop for my gifs. you can use photopea i think but my friend has tried it and for her it didnt delivered the maximum quality you know. there’s a tutorial on how to use photopea tho somewhere on tumblr but i dont have the link sorry:( personally, i’m more comfortable with photoshop.

if you are using window, try to crack it with GenP. you could search for GenP and click on the reddit link. i used genp to crack, im very happy with it. have no trouble until now!

if you use mac, search for adobezii reddit or click here!

3. sharpening

now!!! this is important too!!! you need to sharpen your gifs but be careful to not oversharpen them!! i think i followed this tutorial but i tweaked it at the end. you could use my action here, it consists of double sharpening and a touch of gaussian blur to soften it a bit. play around with sharpening!! find the right way for you!!! i do suggest to use double sharpening, it makes the difference in the world!!

4. coloring

tbh i’m still learning to color my gifs until now. but i think the contrast and brightness play some parts too. i just notice if the gifs are wayyyyy too bright it’ll lose it’s quality, the same when it’s over saturated. so i guess find the balance!!!

5. cropping/sizing

i always crop my gifs first before i sharpen them, i even crop them before i convert them to smart filter. idk but to me it’s better that way. follow the size that tumblr allows to ensure better quality!! since the beginning i set the width to be the tumblr size e.g. 540px with this setting of cropping and the height just kinda follows it. like i calculate what the height would be if i want the aspect ratio to be 3:2 or 5:4. gosh i hope this makes sense

6. exporting

ok so i dont really understand the science behind the option but this page goes into the great details between the difference settings. i almost exclusively use selective and diffusion with 100 dither and 256bit color. as always play around!! not every gif will be suitable with that setting or if you even like that setting.

7. screencapping

i dont really know if you screencap makes the quality better, but i do know it’s just easier to screencap than uh cutting the video in photoshop- especially when you try to gif a movie! i use potplayer (idk if it’s available on mac tho?)

after you have your screenshoted scenes, load them onto photoshop like this!

and just do your usual giffing process.

this gif tutorial is incredibly detailed and i recommend to read it if you havent!

aid’s lil mini criticism of ToF that’s probably a lil disjointed cause I suck at explaining my thoughts sometimes ( at least from the viewpoint of someone who is a game designer and took a bachelors for it )

obvs this is all subjective, what i feel abt a mechanic or element is not the same as anothers, and this isn’t to disincentivize ppl from playing it; if u like the game, that’s the important part!!! 2 hours is not enough for me to get extremely solid in my final thoughts, but the fact that i still feel unsure how to feel, even after 2 hours is a little ... meh in itself

most games usually hook you in the first 20-30 min, but ToF feels like one long-drawn-out tutorial where even after 2h i still feel like i’m waiting to be introduced to stuff as i go along the story as i’ve been playing, and yet i’m equally being shoved too many mechanics in my face

obvs, i’ll be making comparisons to genshin bc they themselves dubbed themselves the ‘genshin killers’ ( i can’t find the immediate source, but it’s been brought up so many times + they even copied 5-star genshin reviews w/bots on their app lmao.... ) so it is an invitation for drawing comparisons

intro didn’t wow me. didn’t leave me with the same wide-eyed wonder i had when i booted up genshin cause you just get shoved into some ‘omg you’re being chased by a thing get away xD lol random look at all these things going on u don’t know about’ with no real sense of actual urgency to get away ( and a weird QTE section that felt very out of place ) ... like it’s pretty, but it’s not a ‘wow’ chief ( also fuck amnesia as a trope LMAO )

so initial impressions were subpar, combat feels fine, it feels fluid enough to fight on land, air, and to transition between weapons which i think is quite a neat mechanic in place of having different characters, although it’s not a new one, it’s pretty tried and liked. it feels a little clunky in some places ( i was laughing when i tried to dive attack and the character just kept floating forward and slowly falling ) but otherwise it’s serviceable enough

( things are dying way too quick with an SSR weapon though ... there’s no challenge and i don’t even feel like a beginner player who is given small things to help me adjust and learn the combat unlike in genshin which did feel like at least a gradual rise in challenge and power )

they at least make you actually use all the new combat mechanics you’re introduced to ( including their jetpack and ... a crapload of other ‘extra’ accessories later on ). problem is, that it feels like the combat and navigation mechanics are ... bloated and way too condensed yet drawn out at the same time? nothing rlly stuck with me

things like weapon upgrades are streamlined since the game just does it for you ( aka oh hey we just attached the materials you need to upgrade so don’t think about it ) which then forms a disconnect between you and the mechanic ( and even where said mechanic is located in the UI ) ... sure, weapon upgrades are automated through the ores in genshin, but in the beginning you don’t have those and your choice of how you feed weapons is a lot more limited until you become more accustomed to the game. here it’s so ‘wham bam thank u mam’ that it doesn’t even feel fulfilling or do much outside of press button do thing

story-wise you aren’t even given enough chances to really become familiar with the combat system because 80% of the story so far has been ‘go here. talk to this person here. come back. go here. talk to this person here’ and maybe you beat up a single boss or two in some places. you’d have to straight up deviate from the story to start beating stuff, and truth be told, i don’t have any incentive or desire to do so, unlike in genshin where i began early on to deviate and look around because i was inspired to dig my nose around the world

... i’ll be honest, i think the story is boring and bland too. it feels very hamfisted in introducing you to characters and trying to make you care for them. no, PW i’m not gonna care that your token uwu sister girl character is dying or something, i barely have known her for 2 hours and outside of her showing me around the camp and making me go on 50 errands to get her stuff ( like a damn filter that’s 5 feet away from me ), she’s done nothing for me. her brother was hot, but he also feels flatter than a piece of paper and i’d have cared more if he actually did shoot his sister. otherwise i have no idea what our place in the world is outside of amnesiac dude who is adopted by a camp while shit happens around him w/o any real explanation

the look of the world is ... fine, it’s ... generic post-apocalypse camp ... i dunno why they opted for the look they did, browns and greens although very nice, start to blend together when your world is just made of that and just canyon mountain things. facial animations are pretty good for characters, even if the lip-sync is weird ( but genshin isn’t free of that either with non-CN dubs so it’s a pass ) but actual body/motion animations feel weird and are very ... stiff

designs are ... bland too IMO, i’m not very inspired by them and i find the mechanic a little odd to be able to ‘wear’ a look ... why give us the option to customize then if we can just dress up like a cat-girl who acts bitchy regardless if we opted for male or female avatars? the customizer is nice, but perfect world has always made pretty decent customizers. though think about it, if people are more complimenting just the customizer and nothing else of the game ... what does that say? sure, you can argue it only came out yesterday, but ... food for thought, i suppose

you can also clearly tell it was made as a mobile game first considering they still have ‘tap to enter’ written on their damn login page LMAO

i’ll probably keep playing for a few more days to really gather my thoughts, but overall the taste i’m getting is ‘generic mobile anime scifi game with mechanic bloat and no real story’. if you enjoy more mindless games that are oogly button mash flashy, it works, but this is no genshin killer

i also have gripes with the company itself, but you can read this twitter thread for that shitshow with their CN beta, and i’m already familiar with perfect world and bloating an old MMO of mine with unneeded features and gross P2W so i already went in w/some kinda bias knowing what the company is like

I saw that you replied about your editing process few days ago and I have to say that your editing style is like my editing goal even though I am soooo far away from it ! I have some questions about it : what material do you use to edit ? Only computers? Do you have a tuto to recommend ? I'm really impressed by the quality of details each screen is ! The hairs especially, seems like it takes hours to make ! Take care ♥

to answer your questions, we use photoshop to edit on the computer while using a drawing tablet! you can take a look at our previously answered asks about editing through this tag where we’ve given pointers and tips on editing and how we edit! for the quality of the pictures, we take our screenshots on a very big screen so the resolution is way higher! we also use the HQ mod as well! after we finish editing, we run the pictures through topaz clean & denoise too which helps boost the sharpness and quality of the images!! to be honest, we didn’t really follow any tutorials, most of it came from a lot of trial and error and experimenting with how we like to do our hair strands & the style of editing! it took a long time to get to where we are right now in terms of editing and our style!

if any of the pointers we gave in the tag we linked need further explanation, feel free to shoot us a dm and we’ll gladly walk you through the process! we find that it’s much easier for us to help in editing when it’s done this way since we can be more specific and thorough when helping!! we hope that this was helpful!! take care ^^

December, Mont Blanc and Memories ~An Encounter from 18 years ago~

When I went out for the first time in a long time, I suddenly had a craving for something sweet so I decided to buy a cake, that is really rare! 🍰 Here’s the Mont Blanc I got 🌰 It looks like a pine cone 🤣🤣 I bought it on the dessert floor of a department store, I was surprised by the sheer amount of sweets they had😵💦 I usually only check out the sweets section when I want to buy some provisions for rehearsals and lives, in that case I typically go for cakes that have a longer shelf life and are individually packaged, I rarely look at cakes with raw ingredients or whipped cream. I had never really picked something out for myself so I was wandering around aimlessly without really knowing how to choose a cake. Then I thought to myself, “just trust your gut-feeling and pick something!” That’s the exact moment I came across THIS here... ❗️ There was only one type of cake lined up in the entire showcase and the price was shockingly high but it really caught my interest!!! I couldn’t help but buy it. Earlier I had intended to buy two cakes anyway so I thought that instead of buying two I could just get this very expensive cake 😆🌟 After I got home, it was time to eat! 🍽 The beautiful Mont Blanc cream has a moderate sweetness that is surprisingly refreshing while still giving off a strong chestnut taste, there was also a slight liquor flavour. This was my first time eating Mont Blanc, it was so nice and smooth. On the inside there’s whipped cream! Very refreshing and not bland at all. And if you dig deeper, oh my God! There are real chestnuts hidden inside ~ 🌰💕 There way too much too eat! I couldn't finish it all in one go because of this huge portion size so I really took my time savouring every bite. It was Mont Blanc from a shop called MORI YOSHIDA PARIS 😋 It was super delicious!!!

By the way, the other day, we announced that I will holding a concert on December 10! This concert, titled "Wakana Birthday Classic ~ Happy Hello Day ~", will be held at Kioi Hall once again ❗🤗🎹🎶 I am super happy to be able to hold such a luxuriously classic style concert on my birthday 💕 Sin-san will join me once again on piano and as music director. Takahiro Yuki-san will once again be in charge of cello. And on violin we have Yuya Yanagihara-san 🎻 Also, we will welcome Yuuka Nanri as a guest vocalist~ 😍😍🎉🎉 Can you believe it, it's been 18 years since I first met Yu-chan (OMG!!)??!! I will forever look up to her and for me she will always be a shining angel! 🥰💘 I still vividly remember the shock of meeting Yu-chan for the very first time. It was a very hot day in midsummer, back then I was still travelling back and forth between Fukuoka and Tokyo. I had my first meeting with Yu-chan during one of my longer stays in Tokyo. I was supposed to wait for Yu-chan and our manager at a certain place in Harajuku. At that time I was completely unfamiliar with Tokyo. To make things worse, the restaurant where we were supposed to meet was located inside of a building and there were no visible signs outside. Somehow I managed to find the place by wandering around while constantly turning my map upside down. It was in a quiet back alley far from Harajuku station. For the longest time I doubted that I had actually found the right spot...Is this really the place ? What if I am at the wrong place?... Back then I was still so young and inexperienced with no real confidenence, I thought that maybe I should continue wandering around the area. But for the time being, I decided to wait there for a little while. (By the way, I arrived 30 minutes early because I was scared and knew I would get lost in the maze of the city. And keep in mind that this was a lifetime ago so of course I didn’t have a smartphone with Google Maps, I had actually printed a map and brought it along). Then all of a sudden, a slender girl in a pure white dress with an elegant parasol walks into the alley ... slowly she is approaching me... the sun was shining brightly so I couldn’t make out her face but I could tell she was coming straight towards me ...I thought that maybe ... maybe this girl is...? And yes, that was indeed Yu-chan 😂😂💕 Eighteen years after such an encounter, I cannot believe that we will be holding a concert together ... 😭✨✨Just by writing all of this I got a little emotional 😂😂 Ahhhh, I am so happy!!💕 I was reunited with Yu-chan the other day, as expected, she was still a dazzling angel 🥰 I'm really looking forward to December 10. Before the concert in December, my "Wakana Billboard Live 2021" will take place this month and next month!!! I will be accompanied by piano, guitar and percussion, with Satoshi Takebe-san as music director and on piano 🎹. On guitar we have Masanobu Fukuhara-san, it’s been a while 🎸And for the first time we are joined by Shinji Asakura-san on percussion 🥁 I already mentioned it on Instagram, the rehearsal was absolutely hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing, even when I got home, I kept remembering all the funny stuff and started laughing again. What kind of live will it be? We will start this month on the 23rd at Billboard Osaka, And November there will be another live on the 13th at Billboard Yokohama 🎵
