[EN] I have tens of thousands of photos on hard drives. I'm trying to go through them all to create backups in the cloud. Recently, I came across something like this. It's a shot from some school performance, I don't remember exactly which one. I have only this one picture from that day. I was recording a video at that time, but that's not important. I didn't remember this photo; I didn't edit it back then, it had no value to me. However, after years, looking at it, I was surprised. In the foreground stands Dawid. Back then, just a completely anonymous child. Today, he's my son's best friend. Yes, that's the magic of this game. I'm sure I still have many such interesting surprises waiting to be unearthed.

Nie miało dla mnie, żadnej wartości. Tymczasem po latach patrząc na nie doznałem zaskoczenia. Ot na pierwszym planie stoi Dawid. Wtedy zupełnie anonimowe dziecko. Dziś najlepszy kolega mojego syna. Tak. To właśnie magia tej zabawy. Jestem pewien, że do odgrzebania mam jeszcze sporo takich ciekawych niespodzianek.

Nd my jae, he is preparing his solo , nd his movie is gonna come out soon, which I have a great expectation..... I hope this year may kind to him so that he could achieve everything that he wanted.... Like his acting and his solo everything.... More thaan that I am waiting for his solo to see how much he linked dy in his songs.... U knw I still think horizone is for dy.... Nd I have my theory I will just write about it another time.... Today my heart is aching ... I can't focus on anything rather than 127 ..

Jungwoo is really popular than he think he is...or is ot just me....anyway he is popular nd a veriety member...atleast that's what they want from him, nd he won't dissappoint us in that matter....may be we could get his solo next year, but not rush he have time....ofcrs he had lot of other opportunities to watch....i think he would get casted on some veriety show as a per member i gues....i hope it happens....i think he would be the most emotional when the memebrs go one by one to military!! Johnny nd yuta......i really need them to have their solo schedules as a singer not in any other way around....i mean they both are successful as a fashion brand ambassador s nd model etc....but as a singer they need to shine more...yuta is really improve so much from his debut vocally....nd he kinda want to show his vocal skill to the world...so I really hope he gets it in a way he wanted!! Not rushing only if he is ready to do it....nd jhonny i realy pitying him for losing his dj schedule...i mean fate really snatched it from him....it was a really good opportunity for him to shine his own...u knw he has that Chicago hot guy vibe, nd he could slay it easily.... Psychiatrists say that half of the time they do nothing but provide an ear, people get better just by venting out their feelings and thoughts. It helps to process thema and let go, unload. So you are half-way to a recovery after this long post, heh.

Enlistment is a huge change for Taeyong. He has been running for 12 years non-stop, and not he will dissapear to another dimension, away from the fans, celebrity life, his friends - everything. It is taugh, and he has an example in Taemin who couldn't cope (he had mental issues while in the military), but I believe in Tae's resilience. He will be able to receive calls from family and friends, so he will have the support.

Another burden is that 127 if going into unknown, many groups lose members after 10 years, some don't return after everyone finish enlistment. However, SM's bg groups have longevity, and Tae will be back after 1,5 years, a shorter time than the pandemia lasted. We survived that interruption in normalcy, we will survive this one as well.

127 won't dissapear for 5 years, they will continue to release songs. They did a whole tour without Taeil. They can make albums with absent members. Exo did that. It won't be a complete group, but, on the brighter side, it will allow for a change in highlighted members. Like TaeMark were the centre of all title tracks for a long time, or how Taeil was responvible for all big notes, now it will change.

I'm sorry, but Jaehyun better not release anything sooner than Autumn... I need time to save money... heh. There is one month break in Dream's schedule, in July. Thus I expect both units to have anniversary activities. Jae's movie will be in summer as well, won't be surprised if he will sing an OST for it. It will make sense to release a solo after the movie. End of August-October is the window, probably.

I doubt Jungwoo will get a solo next year. He is still hesitant about his vocal abilities. He came in as a dancer with a dream to entertain rather than to sing. He has been improving, the producers praise him. I think we can expect a single. Maybe an OST or a special stage for SMTown? He hasn't really started his solo path yet. He has no solo covers, not duets.

Johnny won't be a singer. Not in a soloist sense. He never improved during his time in NCT. I think he will comeback to DJ-ing this year.

Yuta will get a solo album in Japanese eventually. It could be promoted only in Japan though, with little advertisement in SK. TVXQ releases are that way. With the tour over, I'd expect him to return to Japan to shoot in another tv-series for now.

The sooner Do and Jae go to military, the sooner 127 will be back as a complete unit, actually (there is a break of few years before Woo and Hyuk). Tae and Do have a half year difference, so him leaving half a year after Tae makes sense. Although I don't know how exactly the dates are counted, but I think one has to go before turning 29?

I'm ready to sactifice DJJ this year if TaeDo go together to the same location, lol. I'm sure some members of groups serve together.

With Do's current popularity he won't be a million seller with his first solo. But we know him, the bunny always achieves his goals, he will be with his next!

Actually. 127 is way more successful and famous than I expected them to be when I joined the fandom in 2018. Back then everyone looked down on them because they didn't repeat Exo's rapid raise to fame. And look at them now, they sold albums in millions and gave concerts in NA and Europe. 127 is famous. Most importantly, they have legacy (the songs that everyone knows), they are the idols of idol-wannabees (Hanbin&Jaehyun, Ryo&Doyoung, to give an example).

Yes, 127 didn't have luck with tours. It's a fact. But then, many groups simply disbanded for good because of the covid... and most teams never give solo concerts in domes. The members achieved those dreams they had when preparing to debut.

A couple of years ago I used to think that some members will leave. However, seeing how their bond became stronger in 2022-2023, I think from now on only external factors can prevent them from continuing to be a group.

NCT isn't going anywhere. The members who won't go to the military will still have NCT U.

Heh. Everyone dreads the upcoming period, and only I sigh with a relief of "Finally, I'll have time to catch up with all the content released over the years and watch past concerts". WayV and Dream, mayhaps your time has come...

1. how many works do you have on AO3? Currently 93. I've finished transferring (almost) all of my old fics from FFN and AFF (for archival purposes, as most of them are not very good)

2. what's your total AO3 word count? 1,678,494

3. what fandoms do you write for? Formerly, 28 fandoms listed on A03. Currently, Stargate Atlantis (though I'm hoping to get some of my SGU ideas wrangled into actual fics soon)

4. top five fics by kudos: "Nemo" (SGA) "Nykteridalatry" (SGA) "One and One and One is Three" (MCU) "Regina Donum" (SGA) and "Written in Your Skin" (SGA) has (I believe recently) edged out "Your Prison is Walking Through this World all Alone" (MCU) for 5th ❤

5. do you respond to comments? Oh yeah! I've had some great comment conversations especially on "Nemo" and the earlier fics in that series, and I still try to reply to all comments.

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Gonna say "Lie Still" (Angel/BTVS). It deals with a canon character death, sort of me exploring why I felt like this ending fit the character, though it's so personal to my own feelings that I feel like it's difficult for other readers to parse.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? This is difficult to say, as I much prefer to write happy endings so there are many!! I might say "Harbored" or "A Dram of Sweet is Worth a Pound of Sorrow" (both SGA), as they both deal with the main character overcoming painful histories to find happiness.

8. do you get hate on fics? Nothing I would call hate, though sometimes I get odd comments.

9. do you write smut? Lots.

10. craziest crossover? I adore crossovers. I'm gonna interpret this question slightly differently than I have in the past and say "One and One and One is Three" (MCU). Technically this isn't a "crossover" in the sense of different properties, but in the sense of the multiverse and 5 universes of people running around and seeing what their-self is up to in another universe.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of.

12. have you ever had a fic translated? No.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before? No, but technically Eos and I are co-authors on "Aubade," as she contributed gorgeous illustrations!!

14. all time favorite ship? I have so many fandoms and characters I love that I tend to ship whatever characters' vibes works for me in that moment. Recently, I do tend toward vaguely evil/unbelievable snark as a ship dynamic, which has manifested in me writing over 100,000 words each for inussess, frostiron, and jodd

15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? At the moment I'm fighting the pull of garashir. I do NOT need to get pulled into another fandom, especially one where I need to learn a whole new writing vocabulary that I haven't been paying that much attention to as I (re)watch the show. But I have a very specific vibe I'm searching for that I want to read and I haven't found a fic to fill that vibe yet, so I've opened a Gdoc to store some notes, and so I guess it counts as a WIP though I want it to exist as much as I do not want to write it.

Wilderness

It is the month before he leaves for the first time, and he has taken them into the forest to gather herbs. The sunlight filters in through the gaps between trees and makes patterns on the foliage beneath their feet. The day is as warm as his chest feels, filled with an endearment for the human being before him. Carefully trying to cut bunches of wolfsbane with the knife he’d supplied them for the day’s outing. They would hang them up later, and let them dry before storing them or they would distill them to sprinkle around the shop to deter vermin. 

He sits against the trunk of a tree with his eyes closed, or mostly closed. They’ve asked to take the lead. To have a go at doing everything themselves rather than have him hovering over them. He obliged. They were no longer the shaking fawn they had once seemed to be. Now instead they had an inner light, the fire for independence mixed with memories that were more smoke than tangible things to recall. He could only give them what had already been theirs. 

He pretends he isn’t watching as they scamper back towards him. The same skip in their step that they’d had when the two had met all those years ago. He opens one eye the slightest bit as they hit the ground on their knees next to him. Crashing against his shoulder and holding their fists stuffed with herbs and wolfsbane in front of his face.

“Asra! Did you bring enough jars for us to put these in?” They’re beaming and it’s contagious. He can see their pride radiating out of them. They were proud to have done something without his supervision, proud to not have to be watched like a child. For him, it was restorative. Not restoring himself, but healing them. For them to regain parts of themselves, whether they knew it or not, made his heart swell in his chest. 

“Hm? Well, let’s see shall we?” He digs into the pack at his side. Pulling out a jar for each of the herbs and flowers they’ve cut for them to take back home. He sits up properly, laying the jars out, open, on the ground in front of them. Together they begin to sort out the thick bouquet of various plant life they’d gathered and put them into the jars. 

Two jars of sage and rosemary, a half jar of saffron, thyme and parsley. One full jar of basil and sumac each. One and a half for the wolfsbane. There is wild onions and various berries thrown into other jars to be sorted out later.

He reaches for the next flower they’ve gathered, bringing the next jar closer to him to put it in before he pauses. Looking closer at it. It’s pretty, that’s for sure. But certainly not on their list or with any real value for alchemy or medicine.

“Ah, did you forget what--”

“No!” They interrupt quickly, for a moment looking embarrassed then regaining their composure just as quick. His concern, along with his curiousity, is piqued. “I, well, those are for you. Since you’ve done so much for me.” They scratch at the side of their face, dirt smearing on their cheek from their fingertips. He laughs, and tucks the flower behind their ear. Their grin returning when his joviality returns. 

He would do anything to protect that grin. He would ask the world itself, nature in all it’s glory, to be merciful. To not do as it must and be gentle around them, for them. If he could rearrange the world, it would be that much softer for them so that their happiness could never come into jeopardy. 

“That’s very sweet of you.” He hums, turning his head to allow them to thread a few flowers into his hair. It is a warm moment, a fond one. 

It is three weeks until he leaves for the first time and he has taken them to a field to practice their magic, to use it. 

But first, he watches them from atop of a hill as they run through the long grass. Outside of the city’s walls and noise. The world is lit up with gold. He turns his face up towards the sky, closes his eyes, and smiles at the sun. Feeling the light warm his skin. 

He hears their footsteps come towards him at the same fast pace they’d run from him at. He opens his eyes and looks down just in time to see their face, full of joy and reckless abandon, before they tackle him to the ground with their arms around his waist. 

They are laughing, he is laughing. His own arms coming around to hug them as they lay on the ground. He loved them, and once they loved him. But he has always been their friend first and foremost, and he is more than glad to sink into these moments with them.  They are wearing a tunic they’d gotten from a client as repayment for a particularly expensive salve. It is soft, silky. He squeezes them before he lets them go. Standing up once they have run out of the energy to laugh and helps them up.

That day they light up the sky with a second sun made of various spells and magic. They make the wind and set fire to the air. Their control impeccable for one who remembers so little. He tells them he is proud, that they are so strong and so talented. That their hard work is paying off. He tells them this and does not mention the slight red in the whites of their eyes. Though his heart lurches every time for many different reasons. The plague is gone, he reminds himself, so why have they been crying then?

It is a week before he leaves, and it is raining. They are sitting near the window, having of helped him push the bed towards it, with a hot cup of tea in their hands. Though by now they have seen the rain so many times, they never fail to be amazed or captivated by it. 

“It’s like,” They would always start when he asks, “I know I must have been someone, before I lost everything and all that, so I just want to appreciate these little things, y’know? Just in case I didn’t before.”

You did, he wants to tell them as he sits next to them on the bed. Faust unravelling from him and wrapping around their shoulders. You loved the rain and the sun, you danced in both and it loved you as much as you loved it. He wants to say it. So instead he bumps their shoulder with his own and asks them if they’d been practicing their magical theory. They stick their tongue out at him and they fall into a comfortable silence. Watching the rain as it goes from a drizzle to something far heavier with harsh hale crashing against the glass pane. Lightning strikes the world around them.

He knew that if they wanted to, they would walk out into the storm and trust it to never hurt them. He knows this, because he knows them better than they know themselves. 

“Wet!” Says Faust, tightening that little bit around them. Tongue flicking out to ghost over their cheek. They grin, looking to him.

“I’m going to catch a storm one of these days, just you wait. I’ll put it in a jar, just for you.” 

It is the night after he left the first time and he is lonely. 

He is not lonely in the sense that he enjoys it. Being able to enjoy his own company, the ability to be okay without others around, has always been innate. But after so long with someone by his side, before the plague and after, when someone relied on him, it feels unusual.  Right now, he cannot enjoy his own company as it is. 

He lies down at his camp. The beast asleep, and Faust hunting down mice and small rats to eat. He closes his eyes, and he dreams. 

When he dreams, he thinks of sunlight and flowers. Of magical lights and lightning trapped in jars. He thinks of soft clothes and softer hair, of warm skin and the simple joy of laughter shared with another person. 

When he dreams he smiles. And in a city a few hundred miles away from where he is, the subject of his dreams sits on their shared bed and looks out the window with a jar in their hands. Waiting for the biggest storm to trap in a tiny jar so he would have reason to not leave again.

It does not storm while he is away, and the second time he leaves, they wait for the storm. The third time, the fourth, the tenth and the thirtieth. The storm is never where they need it to be.

The Crescent Nebula (NGC 6888) Taken from my backyard in Providence, RI (Bortle 8 skies). Your matchups are amazing! Adding in the vision aspect makes them really fun and unique! Could I please have my vision, (male) romantic partner, and (any gender) friend? No rush ofc, whenever you have time. ☺️

On first impressions, most people find me cheerful, witty, and polite. On the flip side, I do have a bit of a quick temper - I rarely get super angry, but it is pretty easy to irritate me, and when I’m in a bad mood I get kind of harsh and sarcastic. Mostly, it annoys me when people are disrespectful or dishonest (to me or others), or when someone has a defeatist attitude. I’m definitely the friend you go to for advice rather than a shoulder to cry on; talking about emotions is not my forte. In general I’m confident, adventurous, lil competitive, and I guess an ambivert? I like to do my own thing so I naturally end up spending a lot of time alone, but I also enjoy socializing, especially going out and trying new things or traveling with my partner/friends/family.

Some of my likes/interests are movies (or I guess plays in the world of Genshin, haha), the ocean and aquariums (I have a couple small tanks that I’ve been building for a few years now), running, road trips, and any kind of puzzle or game (but if it’s a competitive game best believe I’ll play to win lol).

it’s no lie i am just awful at finishing things. as of posting this i have once again decided to rework my previously main wip and have started a new wip. i tried to do nanowrimo and failed. have like 3 short stories that are just... halfway done. and who knows at what point in the future i will actually finish writing a book. Anyways.

¿QUÉ PASA, CALABAZA?

i can’t believe a story about a talking cat means so much to me. wait no. actually i can believe it. i hadn’t planned for media noche to be much but then i got way too attached to her character and so proceeded to write a prequel after i wrote this short story, which wasn’t as good but still. i can consider this the first honest-to-god short story i actually finished, which makes me extremely happy. what it really did for me was basically map out my writing process for me, helped me break it down to use later. i can write from a vague feeling, imagery and aesthetic and make it work!!! which for the way my brain works creatively is amazing. can’t believe thinking “story with black cats and pumpkins like over the garden wall??” turned into something. UNDERSIDE OF MY TONGUE

so much happened in 2020 i had completely forgotten i did escapril at all. and once it was over i compiled my flash fics/poems into a collection i titled “underside of my tongue” from a line in the first flash fic about hemera and eos. i explored creative formatting with escapril which is something i really enjoy and it really helped me write all 30 entries. i also wrote self-indulgently and (once again like with ¿qué pasa, calabaza?) from imagery instead of plot and it worked wonders for most flash fics. i say most because i definitely rushed some to be up to date. i used escapril to expand on the modern greek mythology universe that lives rent free in my brain, wrote apocalyptic new testament that caters specifically for me, and also made me realise how much i like fantasy body horror. more specifically botanic body horror. and now that escapril 2021 is coming i’m gonna use that opportunity to write another 30 flash fics and/or poems because... because i want to make chapbooks with them! as i write this i haven’t finished writing this short story, but i’m going to, because it’s a gift for my cousin whose birthday is on the 17th. i have a thing for taking old stories or concepts or characters and reworking them to mold into my current writing style and that is Just what i did with this short story. the characters were barely characters and the story barely a story because it’s based on a game of pretend my cousin and i played when we were like 6yo. now i’ve turned it into a story on deniability. and of course sprinkled some fantasy body horror on top of it. depending on how it turns out i even want to try and submit it to lit magazines!! character appreciation post! and writing partner appreciation. @lorybean and i created these characters last year which feels unreal. and they have turned into my comfort sandbox characters that went through an entire development arc in less than a year, and good for them! it’s hard to choose between my babies because i do love all the ships in my wips. but mari and theo are truly versatile and dynamic characters that can be put into nearly any scenario and not lose their attributes, and that’s amazing. in love with how they play off each other, also that they are a queer m/f couple of colour!! they are like real people in the way they interact with the world, with each other, and how their psyche works. they showed me the truth and now when people ask me if i perefer friends-to-lovers ot enemies-to-lovers i’m gonna say lovers-to-ex-to-lovers. Definitely another strong favourite today!

Let me take you back to one of Lady Penelope’s main episodes from TOS - ‘The Man From MI5′. Nice play on the title here. But, when we might have expected this to be a job for Gordon, it’s actually one for er- John?

P.S. Did you know O’Hagan and Aisling made a Thunderbirds Picture Storybook edition?

So yes, after all the asking, it’s John, and she is sticking with John. Gordon really must be gutted. This scene was absolutely golden as well.

“Did I hear party? Do you need a date? I could be there in no time! (Scott, let me borrow Thunderbird One).”

“No way! You actually got him to leave Thunderbird Five.”

Yeah, thanks for that Parker! So the only part she actually told him about correctly was that it’s a charity auction. Thankful for that radio now, John?

“I thought there’d be less this. People. Talking. In person. I mean communications is my job, I talk to people from all over the world, I’d just rather do it from space.”

I think John could be socially autistic.

Look at Sherbet though, sitting so happily on Penelope’s arm.

“Place like this his ha ‘ot-bed for pick pockets. hIn my day, this would ‘ave been ha gold mine.”

“No one will be picking anyone’s pockets tonight.”

Definitely famous last words. Wait for it.

I love how one minute Lady Penelope is pulling John away from people and telling him who to talk to, and then the next just walks off and leaves him to fend for himself.

“Did I mention the cufflinks?”

“Will they make me invisible to crowds?”

“Why didn’t I think of that?”

Because you are not John who is currently very desperate to disappear from the face of the Earth.

Also, I love how Scott has a laptop. Obviously he’s doing Tracy Industry work today.

“What exactly do you do, Dear boy?”

And could you be any more patronising? I mean, go on, give it a try.

Did I see Kat in crowd as well?

And the focus on the food? It was spot on really. It’s the little things that help to make episodes like this. This episode had a great balance of humour and tense moments, with a brilliant rescue, a great appearance by The Hood and a very nice view of a different side to John.

With some absolutely brilliant moments by Parker. Only he and Sherbet could end up in a fight with kitchen staff in a Chateau kitchen at a party whilst he’s meant to be looking out for pick pockets.

“Wonderful party isn’t it?”

“’ey? ‘e’s cheered hup. No kitchen staff? Goood grief, hit’s-”

“You weren’t supposed to see that!”

“hIndeed. Now, drop that weapon, hor hI’ll be hobliged to serve you ha Parker ‘aymaker.”

And they actually showed more of the ‘fight’ than I expected them to. I mean, hitting someone’s head with multiple saucepans..? Because that’s PG.

“Welcome everyone, and- *Clatters* - And, they’re obviously preparing our very delicious desert.”

It’s a good thing she can talk her way out of almost anything.

“One million.”

Just throw and smash your glass... yes, that’s exactly what I would do at a formal charity auction. As I’m sure we all would.

“And how does he expected to pay for it? By robbing us?”

“That’s exactly right.”

“The Hood...”

“Pick pockets!”

Yes, Parker, they made it past you. Just.

“What makes you think I’ll willingly give you any of my money, hey?”

“I placed laser cutters on the cables, that hold up this Chateau. Would you like a demonstation?”

Why did you even say anything man?

“This one doesn’t show up on the system.”

“Who exactly are you?”

“Me? I uh...”

I did find it hard to believe that The Hood wouldn’t recognise John though. I mean, he’s even been to Tracy Island, he’s seen their portraits. I know John looks a little different in a suit, but still. I mean, it does look like The Hood is considering him, but I still think there would have been recognition there.

“If I could get outside, I could try and disable them.”

“You’ll need a distraction. Parker?”

“Right ‘away, M’Lady. hOi! hIf you’re gonna rob hus, hat least ‘ave the decency to serve proper canapes!”

Now chair throwing! This is perfect! Exactly my type of party.

Oh Bottomsly really is an idiot. I mean the name did hint.. A candlelabra? Great choice of weapon. TAG really risked their Universal rating on this one.

“Fool! You’ve activated the laser cutters!”

For once, and only once, I agree with The Hood. Bottomsly, you are a fool.

“This place is doomed!”

“And so are you!”

Well... nearly. When have we ever known The Hood not to have some kind of escape plan at the ready? I mean, he did in ‘Legacy’ and he really should have been done for then.

Nice of him to give us a little bow as well.

Now to go off topic for two seconds and see if I can give anyone a laugh for today;

You know what, I will give you the two images that popped into my head during this scene, particularily from the above photo.

1. Titanic. Iconic moment that I need not say more on. I will advise though that I’m not really a fan of this film, so I don’t quite know why it came to me.

2. Richard III (Ian McKellen’s version) - where, defeated Richard III falls into the fire below, arms wide and smiling. I never really understood this version of the film. It’s set in Nazi Germany... I will say no more.

“Hairstyle not recognised. And not very stylish.”

“We speak of this to no one.”

“To the rocket!”

Oh my gosh, the humour with this pair and EOS (finally someone wrote an episode with EOS)! This was so so needed in this episode and had me in fits.

“I’d like to see the reports for myself.”

“I’m not sure you’d understand them. But I’ve found a wonderful puppet show you might find entertaining.”

Best thing is - I reckon Gordon would have really liked that puppet show.

“Gordon to John. You’re AI is being evil again.”

I wouldn’t quite say this counts as evil, Gordon, more like mean, but your choice of words.

“EOS?”

“It’s not me this time!”

“This time?”

Oopps, nearly gave it away.

“I mean... How can I assist?”

See, there you go! Bond over your love for John. Probably the only thing (besides humour) that these two have in common. It was also really nice to see Gordon in Thunderbird Five. He never made it up there in TOS.

John really does have a better head for heights than I do then.

Yeah, because Kayo does the Bad Guy Chasing not the Rescuing.

“No, Bottomsly, I expect you to help the others first. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get to leave before this whole place falls down on your head like a rock!”

Maybe a little harsher than it needed to be said like, but it did need saying. I love how Sherbet gets to go first!

“Surely you have something up your sleeve?”

“Actually I do. Brains said something about cufflinks.”

And probably should have finished explaining about them.

“He put a laser up my sleeve!”

That could have gone very wrong.

Did Scott forget to say that he meant that literally?

Kind of you to save your brother from possible death.

I love how John was desperate enough to try and climb away! That was a little mean of Scott to try it though.

I love Parker’s priorities! In fact, there might be a fanfiction coming based of this. Stay tuned.

what do you think will happen to mea in the future? it doesnt seem to be high on biowares priority list but with a possible remaster it would help right

i think that it is possible it would get a second (and probably third) game. it was clearly setting up for something, and not just with vaults and fixing planets and working out who the fuck were the kett, but also with the quarian ship and the random spatterings of cerberus in there, eclipse and blue suns made it onboard, gene therapy for the krogan, who killed jien garson etc etc. and look i did really enjoy andromeda... once i got past eos the first time. same with the hinterlands, just the opening first level was almost too big? granted, idk how game companies can find a happy medium with that sort of stuff, its out of my league, i got past eos, im fine now.

a remaster of the OT will bring that series, esp me1, back into kind of... orbit. as such. like me3′s endings ultimately did basically kill a lot of it’s following. i think i was talking with friends about this the other day, but me3′s endings rly did hurt its fan following, the creativity, the interest, etc etc etc. me3′s endings became so much of a joke they were referenced in other media. its pretty much all the games are known for in some way. but not rly going into that now. everyone still kind of rly holds up me1 to this standard however, but yknow when you go back to a first game in a series if you started later and its kinda clunky and you either dont get it or the nostalgia is the only thing holding out? yeah. i would say it would be in the better interests of bioware to remake instead of just remaster, bc idk if you have seen ubisofts remasters of ac3 where its like they just smoothed out some lines and threw a filter on everything. and then theres just straight up porting games, like uhh all i can think of is ratchet and clank or the jak and daxter series straight from ps2 to ps3/4. however thats a matter of resources and time and would they be also able to convince EA it was worth it because how would they transfer that game to frostbite (i think theyre still using frostbite) etc etc. obviously, dont work there, dont know.

however, mea has kind of been taken out with shoving all the important plot into books. if they were to make a second game, which i think in an interview in 2017/early 2018 when the devil himself came back to bioware, they were looking into it, it’s kind of. what do they really have to go on. but also in biowares favourite story telling “please buy our other external media so we have money” move, they shove stuff into books and comics, then reference it in game but only give like a fifth of the story, so we have a repeat of wicked eyes wicked hearts, where an overwhelming majority of people who hadnt read the books reuinted celene and briala, before realising just how fucked up that is bc of how celene treated briala and what she did to her. and ofc bioware kind of came under fire for being rly prominent as a company for doing that with external media, and tried to push back with ‘its not our fault ppl dont read our stuff’.

personally, with whatever is going on with anthem, how no one really knows whats happening with DA4 like what the story is even gonna be about besides tevinter and how theyre probably gonna justify slavery in some way because its bioware and theyre tone deaf as shit most of the time, and mass effect as a whole being shelved... i personally would say in their better interests it would be a matter of remaking dao and me1, because it would mean their original gold/platinum whatever standard games match the current look of whatever else they wanna release, they also regain interest, it would sell (it would. honestly it would). because from my understanding... bioware fired and closed a lot of studios in the process of mea being made and anthem coming in not long after. a lot of the og writers and producers and directors arent there anymore. theyre basically a brand new team in a sense, but theyre more under EA’s thumb than ever (literally, 90% sure on verge of collapse around the time of anthem’s release, and judging by how they had to be reminded about their roadmap...). short of them also somehow getting another star wars contract, or being allowed to come up with an original thought and idea to move away from their two flagship series. idk. they have to convince EA to give them time and resources at the end of the day.

Do Not Despair 003 — The Ends Festival: Wizkid, Burna Boy, Wande Coal + More!

I go places. I take pictures. Do Not Despair Vol. 1 is coming together gradually and I'm taking my time to curate everything I've created so far, because I'm amazingly efficient.

The Ends Festival was heavy! Congratulations to the organisers and thanks to Mara Publicity for hooking me up. This was my first time going to a festival.

I managed to capture everyone I aimed to get apart from Nas... but I have a strong feeling I'll be seeing him again anyway. I did anticipate that I'd be able to access the pit but that didn't work out because I wasn't shooting on behalf of and major publication. Which is understandable. However, me not being able to access the pit paid off small small, I just had to stay at the front of the crowd and I wasn't limited to 3 songs like the official press photographers were. Wasn't too bad in the end. Got some fire shots.

Nadia Rose, Kojey Radical, Ghetts and De La soul and Saint JHN rocked for Day 1.

On Day 2 it felt like this day was for the afrobeat lovers and it definitely was the day I was mainly there for as well. Juls opened with a killer set consisting of all types of african music; demonstrating his very diverse palette and drawing people in to hearing not just the popular afrobeats, but african house music as well. Teni The Entertainer, Donae'o, Kranium (who needs to stop trying to carry thick girls on stage by the way. He might actually get sued), Kojo Funds, Wande Coal, Maleek Berry and Wizkid all blessed the stage. Wizkid killed it with heavy energy from start to end, he even brought out NSG for an iconic moment to get everyone OT boppin. Once again I took pictures from the front of the crowd. All day. My feet died.

Ending with Damian Marley on day 3, where he followed after acts like Burna Boy, J Balvin, Nao, Masego, Mansur Brown, The Compozers and Jaz Karis.

Over 30,000 music lovers were said to have come to the festival over the 3 days of heavy performances. I'm sure next year will be bigger and better!

Looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?: I wrote way more than I expected. I know it will be a lot but not quite this many. 

What’s your own favourite story of the year?: This is like asking me to choose between my children. Can’t I love them all? I’ll go with Cetus, It has been my baby for so long and to see it completed is a huge sense of achievement. 

Did you take any writing risks this year?: I’ve wrote funny stories this year. Special Delivery and Photoshoot. I’ve dabbled in Mass Effect OT with my The Lost Daughter series for the first time, written for a new fandom Dragon age Inquisition with All the Wrong Ways. I’ve taken part in the MEBB (Chasing the Daylight) and collaborated with friends to tell their characters stories. (Elements of Ryder and Echoes of the Future)

Do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year?: I have 3 con-current WIPs running at the same time. I want to finish them and not miss a posting day. 

Best story of the year?: That’s for the readers to judge I figure. Why don’t you tell me?

Most popular story of the year?: By kudos, The Cetus Arc wins without a doubt. Though I am surprised by the popularity of Falling, Intentionally. 

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: A Second before Awakening. It’s a very different kind of Ryder, an everyday girl if you will facing a horribly hard situation and reacting like a normal human. 

Most fun story to write: Raining In Eos, not for the faint of heart. I really cut loose in this one. Like really really cut loose. 

Story with the single sexiest moment: I think Deadly Star, albeit no smut. 

Most sweet story: I don’t really know. I don’t do sweet really but maybe Face it Bravely counts? 

“Holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you!” story: Special Delivery, I think. LOL

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Well really, I think Irreplaceable is one. The Moshae turned out to be a meddlesome old woman. Very much the matchmaker. 

Most unintentionally telling story: The Lost Childhood, no quite unintentionally I think. 

Hardest story to write: The Cetus Arc but it’s pure length and I wanted to give Ryder’s recovery justice

Biggest disappointment: Fic wise none actually. I’ll say it was all the ideas I didn’t have time to pursue. And it looks like I still don’t have time to pursue. 

Biggest surprise: The sheer amount of words I put out. It’s literally a word tsunami or something

Korean A1/Beginner - Lesson #1 - February 28th 2018

Our teacher started the first class asking us a few questions.

How do you say “Korean” in Korean? A: 한글 (han-geul).

Who created the Korean language? A: 세종대왕 (se-jong-dae-wang), which means The Great King Se Jong.

How many vowels and consonants are there in Korean? A: Vowels - 21 Consonants - 19

How do you say “South Korea” in Korean? A: 대한민국 (dae-han-min-gug), which means something like The Great Republic of Korea or 한국 (han-gug).

And how do you say “North Korea” in Korean? A: 북한 (buk-han).

After this, she showed us the right ways to write in Korean:

C: Consonants            V: Vowels

You start writing from left to right, starting up and going downwards. You should use this order for reading as well.

On this day we learned 6 vowels and 4 consonants.

Vowels: 모음 (mo-eum)

Note: I am using the romanizations that you will most often see out there on the internet.

아 - a (sounds like the a in cactus)

어 - eo (sounds like the o in off)

오 - o (sounds like the o in word)

우 - u/oo (sounds like the oo in school)

으 - eu (sounds like the e in site)

이 - i/ee (sounds like i in list)

Attention! When there is no consonant sound before a vowel, that vowel must be preceded by the consonant  ㅇ which becomes silent. Ex.: 아니 (a-ni)

Consonants: 자음 (ja-eum)

ㅁ - m (souns like the m in mother)

ㄴ - n (sounds like the n in note)

ㄹ - l/r (if this consonant is at the end of the syllable and is followed by either a consonant or nothing at all, it sounds like l; if it is followed by a vowel, it sounds very similar to a soft r but not quite like it. The most similar sound I have heard in English is of the double dd when you wadda fast.)

ㅇ - silent/ng (when this consonant is at the beginning of a syllable, it is silent. If it comes at the end of the syllable, it sounds like the ng in anger)

This vocab is very random and serves to practice some of the consonants and vowels we just learned.

오이 - cucumber

어머 - expression of suprise

나 - I

누나 - older sister (for boys)

너무 - a lot, too much

우리 - we, us

오리 - duck

머리 - head

어느 나라 - which country

아우 - younger brother (it is rarely used nowadays, only some of the eldest use it)

대 - big, great

왕 - king

안녕하세요 - hello (formal)

안녕 - hi (informal)

안녕히가세요 - goodbye, go in peace (listener is leaving)

안녕히계세요 - goodbye, stay in peace (listener is staying)

A Look Inside

The real reason behind the creation of Ethernal and a bit about me. Endless Online was one of my biggest passions as a kid, over 10 years ago, it’s hard to imagine that this long has passed since those days. My play style? A true hustler, I’d walk around buying and selling stuff, “buy low sell high”, I loved that more than anything because I got to engage with some pretty awesome people, the social aspect of it was so addicting. And I was one of those cheap bastards that would do anything to get you to lower your price for 50 gold if needed! The sense of wonder was also very good, even if frustrating sometimes. Like the time I decided to go to the castle and by mistake went inside the maze. Worst week of my life at that point, until 2 “maze trolls” found me, and bargained all my stuff to get me out, I had no choice. But even that stuck with me as a good memory, and the past month I was looking for a game to play, and I remembered. “Heyy… EO… could it still be on after all these years?” I thought to myself. Guess what? It was, Dang I was happy, I got to relive some of those moments, and with all my excitement I downloaded the EO Clone, created my account and relog into a world I hadn’t seen in 10 years. There were 40 people on at the time, and I thought… “what the dusse, there are these many people still playing!?” It was time to reconnect. Disappointment set in quickly, as soon as I reached Aeven and said "Hello" to all the afk chars sitting there, a couple of them greeted me with the most amazing: “Hey N***ER” and a warming “F you F***ot” I’m for free speech more than anyone, but I hate hateful and racist people. After an hour hanging out and exploring I realized that of the 40 people online 30 were sitting down afk, with a few racist conversations going on from time to time. That’s not the Endless I used to play, and certainly not the endless that stayed in my memory for so long. The thing that pissed me off the most Is that I contacted the admin that was online at the time, and got no response, what so ever. Endless should not be a platform for racism and hate. But a place to explore and know new people, have a good time. So I decided to apply some of my time and created my own server. Make it the pinnacle of the creation of EO. The true phoenix reborn. Where stupid racist people will get banned permanently Events will be daily to keep a close and loving community And the game continues growing, with more maps, items, quests and players. ​This is my dream, for now, to be able to achieve this and provide people, with the same experience I had, because I think people deserve to know the real EO
