Anywho! I ran a lil poll on Twitter to decide on the types of jobs they would have so here we go:

So I actually forgot to put dancer Vel/artist Ven because I kinda thought Ven would kinda fit the thing but after I finished this art I was pretty happy I didn't put it on there lol.

I honestly think that the other job options seemed pretty interesting, but no one really suggested any other jobs, and almost everyone was enthralled with the idea of dancer Ven & Vel.

For Veneer:

At first, my friend and I were planning this, but nothing really felt right to us. I did suggest Ballerino, but it didn't feel like something Veneer would do without Velvet, because they kinda come in pairs. Gymnast was also a suggestion, but after a couple minutes, it was swiftly discarded because I didn't want to draw Veneer's toes.

Anywho, while searching for other options, ice skating appeared, and my friend suggested an interesting idea as to

Lore time:

When Veneer was young, his parents pushed him towards traditionally male hobbies, such as sports and more sports. When his dad saw a flyer for an ice hockey team, he signed him up immediately. However, some mischievous kid had taped a different number to the hockey flyer, so Veneer's father ended up signing him up for figure skating instead.

At first, Veneer thought he was out of place, after all, the ratio of boys to girls was significant and he found himself to be the only one in that class. He didn't enjoy it much and regretted that he didn't join Velvet in her breakdancing course. However, as he unwillingly went to classes, he slowly started gaining a love for the sport and noticed how beautiful it was.

That led him to go down into professional figure skating and join competitions, eventually leading him to go down in history. For Velvet

My friend suggested swapping traditionally male and female dance styles, which led to the eventual conclusion: breakdancing. Velvet is a strong-willed character who would definitely try to get her way (as shown in the trailer of the movie) and take the classes that she liked.

Lore time:

When Veneer got signed up to do ice hockey, Velvet felt like she didn't have to deal with her little brother all day, and felt that she had a lot of time to herself. At first, she found a lot of things to do every day, running to places, going to parties, and just generally having fun.

At this point, Veneer was still unwilling to go to figure skating classes, (turns out Velvet was the mischievous kid who changed the number on the ice hockey flyer into a figure skating course phone number) but since his father had already paid for a year, he had to go anyways. Velvet would purposely use this to upset Veneer when she didn't get what she wanted, but then would accidentally make Veneer cry, resulting in her getting lectured by her parents, and Velvet holding back tears as she apologized to Veneer (she was totes in the fault here tho).

She realized that the more free time she had, the more her parents would lecture her. She decided right then and there that she would sign up for a class. She spent days, scrolling her phone and watching videos of different skills to decide what she wanted to do. However, nothing caught her eye.

Then, one day, she saw a kid do a flip, and slip and fall miserably. First, she took a video and laughed, and then thought to herself, "Hey, I could do that waaaayyyyy better. That kid's a failure!" And so she threw herself into learning it, but unsurprisingly, she fell flat on her face.

She was unhappy with this result, so she immediately went to her parents and asked them to sign her up for a breakdancing course. However, she had a tendency to give up when things got annoying/hard, so her parents turned her away each time. However, both the nonstop pestering and the fact that she no longer was bullying Veneer (because she was too busy following her parents around and throwing tantrums), they finally gave in.

From then on, she started breakdancing classes, and Veneer was upset because now his sister got to do something she liked, but Veneer was stuck in ice skating hell. He was very unhappy for some time, but then decided, "If she's gonna be happy, I gotta be happier. I gotta upstage her". So, he took to ice skating and started focusing all his efforts on it.

Velvet, seeing her twin brother become increasingly devoted to learning the trade she had forced him into while she had just started to get bored of breakdancing, felt a spark of competition and decided to practice harder.

Her parents were really impressed. Periodt. Now they are famous both nationally (Veneer) and on the streets (Velvet, for breakdancing, not giving up). YIPPEE

I read the newest chapter(of bloodlines, which was awesome) and I was wondering about Paul. What about Feyd endears Paul? Honestly, Feyd doesn’t seem like someone Paul would be with given the choice especially considering Feyds first impression. It seems to me that at this point even tho Paul and his mother are still being the plotting little schemers we know and love and that Paul’s affections could be apart of some plan of theirs, his emotional boundaries are still somewhat being chipped away at by Feyd.

Also btw this isn’t relevant to the characters but I love how you worked your way around feyds social ineptness to give the readers hints to understanding Paul, for example in chapter 6 when they’re talking about the spice shipments and Paul says “it’s only been a few weeks since the change” and he gets a cloudy look in his eyes; I interpreted that as him also reflecting on how short it’s been since his father died and how his life has been drastically changed but Feyd doesn’t pick up on that at allllll lol.

Also do u mind if ppl draw fanart of ur fic? I’m a very slow artist but I’d love to draw some of ur scenes :3

To be quite honest about what Paul feels for Feyd, there really isn’t affection for him on Paul’s side (at this point!!). Feyd fell pretty fast and hard for obvious reasons. But there are so many more layers surrounding how Paul feels about Feyd. His kinda philosophy going into this was to basically have sex with him because he has to and remain extremely emotionally distant from this person who is part of the family that murdered his beloved father and destroyed his whole world. He very much would not have picked Feyd as a partner if situations were different. Which is part of the reason I am finding writing this story so fun, because it’s picking apart these characters' brains and figuring out a way they can fit together.

Very slight inklings of affection have been creeping up on him and will continue on to creep up on him in the coming chapters. But it is going to be a very slow burn for Paul emotionally. Where Feyd, at this point, is almost in love with him. I feel like each chapter represents another step forward in their relationship, for Feyd and Paul and oftentimes it means different things to them personally.

Paul is only just coming to acknowledge and accept that he’s physically attracted to this person, which in itself was a hard conclusion for him to come to as he was raped on his wedding night. Which was a frankly awful experience for him. Which is why we see him not physically turned on by Feyd for several encounters after that. He’s afraid and in his head and deeply uncomfortable. But Feyd has been pretty relentless about making sure Paul has an orgasm every time they fuck, so Paul was like “hold up… am I enjoying this?”. Basically, chapter 7 was him being like “okay, I enjoy having sex. But I think in order to make this better for the both of us, we need to come to some understandings about how we are going to have sex in the future”. He’s trying to figure out what he likes sexually as he was in fact a virgin before all of this went down. Basically he’s a little more comfortable around Feyd now, hence the slight playfulness in chapter 7 where he tickles him and then laughs at Feyd’s reaction. Honestly such a favorite moment of mine.

(Side note, Paul is going to have a POV chapter soon which will help to elucidate some of this).

So chapter 8 for Paul, that little interaction at the end. He's starting to see and understand that they have a common enemy and see how this could potentially open up some trust between them as they’ve both been hurt by this person. If anyone was wondering, yes I do think Paul knows about Feyd’s CSA. While I haven’t read the book yet, the movies seem to indicate that he gets flashes about people beside himself i.e. Dr Kynes when he knows that she loved and lost a Fremen warrior. In this story, Paul knows Feyd was sexually abused by his uncle. It helps give some perspective on this violent and frankly terrifying person in a way that allows him to feel sympathy and give a little more understanding and context to him as a person and their relationship as a whole. And the fact that at the end of chapter 8 Feyd seeks him out in a protective way rather than to demand sex, goes a long way in Paul having some more good will towards him.

In the next chapter, something else will happen as another step/layer to their relationship that will give Paul another “aha” moment. It’s going to help him feel even more comfortable in their marriage and kinda understand better how their dynamic is going to continue going forward (in a sexual and non sexual way).

Paul and Feyd are such different people with extremely disparate upbringings. Paul was deeply loved and protected by his parents who modeled love and affection for him and raised him to be an intelligent and empathetic person. However, he has little context for having friendships and relationships with people his own age or arguably at all. His only friends seemed to be his parents and much older mentor figures who were old enough to be his father or grandfather. Feyd is not only much younger than those people, but has absolutely no emotional maturity. So there's this very wide divide between them. To bridge that gap is going to take years. Which is why there is going to be more stories after bloodlines. It will not happen by the end of this fic. However, they are going to come to a (hopefully) satisfying emotional understanding by the last chapter. At least I’m very satisfied by it and excited to share it 😝.

If I could pinpoint what specifically endears Feyd to Paul, at this point… honestly not a lot… He is so so different from anyone he’s known before. I think he likes (sometimes), that Feyd surprises him (when it’s not a bad surprise, which honestly most of them have been). He’s much more of an instinctual and spontaneous person where Paul is thoughtful and analytical. I think he appreciates that Feyd seems to like him taking the lead in their sexual relationship. And I think he likes that Feyd seems to respect his intelligence and fighting abilities and actively seeks his council and input.

Oh my goodness this is incredibly long. Hopefully all of that makes sense 😝. Also, yes to Feyd not getting the implication behind Paul’s words in the scene about the time between the change.

How do you rectify a chart? I can’t figure out if I’m Leo, Capricorn or Virgo ascendant

It's kind of a complex thing to do and a lot of explanation so I'll try to give some of the most crucial tips:

First important thing in rectification is to use a wole sign house system. If you're a Leo rising at 29 degrees, it doesn't matter. The whole Leo is your 1st house and so on

Also REALLY think of what makes the most sense to you. So you say Leo or Virgo or Capricorn. Now I'm assuming you have approximate time frame for Leo/Virgo cause they're next to each other but where does the Cap possibility come from? Is it an am/pm debate or what?

Look at each possible rising sign through whole sign houses and try to REALLY be objective when it comes to your planetary positions and what planets rule what houses. Look at the ascendant ruler. Where would each ascendant ruler fall? WHAT planet is your ascendant ruler? Being Saturn-ruled will be SO much different than being Sun or Mercury-ruled.

Ask people around how they view you. Think of what you value the most about everything. Think of what approach in life you have.

That will be your basis but the real rectification starts with looking at transits and progressions:

Prepare a list of dates of important events in your life, it can be anything that stands out in your memory (injuries, heartbreak, starting/ending a relationship, getting a job, moving, travelling, starting a hobby, weird coincidences etc).Use profections to see what planet was active during a given year to see what planet will be the most prominent during that year.

Look back at transits regarding those events. If you have 3 options with your rising sign, you need to mix and match and see what makes sense in terms of planets transiting your houses/planets.

For example: in 2017 I went through a 3rd house profection year ruled by Mars. So Mars was my time lord. Almost immediately after birthday I started getting ill and having various acute health problems pretty much throughout the entire year. So I could already tell the energy for that year was very martian: inflammatory and sudden and just malefic in general.

Another example: my sister is a Pisces rising and during one of her 1st house profection years she got married. Her 1st house profection would of course be ruled by a benefic Jupiter, which can indicate a good year, especially for someone with a day chart (Sun above the asc-dsc axis). That year transiting Jupiter entered Cancer - her 5th house where she has her natal Moon. That year during the transit she also happily got pregnant. So she got a double blessing from Jupiter cause it was her time lord and it also coincided with a good transit to her chart.

Look at planetary cycles. For example, Venus is retrograding every 8 years in the same sign. Last summer it was rx in Leo. How did that affect you?

Think of your Saturn transits. What heppened when Saturn was in Leo vs Virgo vs Capricorn? When Saturn transits the 1st house, we often take solid care of our health and bodies, start work out routines, often times because health issues pop up etc. Sometimes Saturn through the 12th can bring health issues (usually chronic or ones that are hard to diagnose) as well tho so keep that in mind.

You need to really sit down and do a bunch of notes and draw conclusions.

Let's take an example of my exhibit Gemini rising: his ascendant ruler is Mercury. During his 1st house profection year (which already indicates there can be stuff happening to the body), he injured himself. So his time lord for the year was Mercury - this will be a planet that is more sensitive that year. Now looking at his transits, his injury occured when transiting Mars was squaring his Mercury. On top of that, that Mars was also opposing his ascendant, which can also lead to accidents.

Generally also look at the state of your potential ascendant ruler: is it in a good or bad house, is it well or badly aspected and is it exalted/fallen/whatever etc.

Secondary progressions can also be useful. Look at progressed benefics and malefics and if they went over your potential axis. Now it's hard to rectify an exact degree of the ascendant but let's say you have your natal Mars in Cancer and it progressed into Leo at some point: if you're a Leo rising, it would progress into your 1st house and so maybe you started being more accident-prone or started having anger issues or suddenly found interest in sports. Now I don't know the rest of your chart so that's just a hypothetical example.

Generally it's a tedious thing to rectify a chart but you either REALLY sit down for a few days or weeks and do it yourself or you can pay a ton of $$$ for someone else to do it for you. Also once you feel like you did the job, still keep an eye out for transits and how they affect you, just to have a confirmation.

ST analysis/S5 theories Part II: Will and El parallels

EDIT :  I posted this analysis months ago. I’ve found so much more. Some things I didn’t considered when I watched S4 for the first time. This was just the beginning : )

In Part I I talked about the parallels between Will and Henry Creel, and one of them is that they both have powers.

This conclusion is not based on my personal taste or hope for a Will centric S5 tho, but on the themes of the story, how it’s structured and his character’s journey.

1. The story is telling us that Will Byers has powers: it’s part of his journey, his coming of age, realizing that he’s not a mistake or just the poor kid who was kidnapped by a monster. He’ll be the key to defeat the evil that made him suffer so much, he’ll save his friends and the boy he loves, and become a confident, talented young man.

Will’s a sweet kid, a little artist who gets bullied at school and has an awful father who calls him slurs. This is material for a good story, even without the supernatural element. But the whole S1 is about saving Will from the Upside Down, S2 is about saving him from the Mind Flayer’s possession, and in S3-4 he realises he’s connected to the MF (Henry) and can feel his presence and thoughts. That means that the supernatural is an important part of his story. This is what makes him different from the other kids, except one (El). He’s the only one who’s directly affected by the supernatural powers of the Upside Down from the beginning of the series. And in S4 we met Henry Creel, another sensitive boy who liked drawing and has many parallels with Will. The perfect way to prove how love can make the difference. That even when you’ve suffered greatly, having people who love you and support you makes the difference. It makes you stronger, it protects you. So you can choose kindness, instead of causing more suffering. Henry was alone, didn’t have a loving family, he felt deeply misunderstood, was tortured by Brenner and so he became a killer.

Of course, the message could also be that even without supernatural powers a brave, kind person can defeat the evil with their selflessness and big heart. Like the Hobbits in LOTR. Will could have no powers at all and still be able to defeat Henry. I guess it could make sense. I just think that at this point, with the Upside Down ready to invade our reality, Eleven’s powers are not enough. She needs help. And let’s not forget that in D&D Vecna is a dark wizard, and Will is Will the Wise, the wizard/cleric of the party. They say it in S1, S2, and S3. I don’t know, it would be strange if it didn’t mean anything, right? 

Also, stories always have some a surprise in the last chapters/seasons. We already know about Will’s connection to Henry. Nothing new. But him having powers would be the biggest plot twist of the story that would change it forever. And now that Will and the reason the Upside Down is stuck on the day he went missing have been confirmed by the Duffers as the main focus of S5, I’m sure we won’t be disappointed. 

I would love it, if the powers Will has are what Vecna or the MF want to build a new world. Or more like to make our world habitable for the MF and its creatures. I used to say Will has a sort of power of creation, like Bastian in The Neverending Story. But since ST is sci-fi, maybe I should say... terraforming? Lol. Or maybe the power to help the MF to connect every creature of our world. We’ll see. There are many options.

So, along with the huge parallels with Henry, there is another dynamic that makes me thinks it makes sense that Will too has powers. The dynamic and parallels with Eleven that we’ve seen since episode one. They are the only two main characters who are deeply connected to the UD and powers, and who feel different and a mistake.

1)   Will is in the title of the first episode, and the title of ep 2 is about El. They are equally important. In fact, when he mysteriously disappears, his friends meet her, the mysterious girl with powers. 

2)   El and Will interact for the first time through El’s powers. First, she channels him, then she sees him in the void and tries to reassure him. And we still don’t know how she recognized him in that photo! Probably all the people with powers are connected to each other and to the Upside Down.

3)   It seems that El dies in the classroom. Same happens to Will in the UD. 

4) The writers want us to see how their stories are connected, even visually

5)   Throughout the series, Will and El have barely interacted, despite the fact that El saved him, that Joyce cares very much about her and is also close to Hopper. It could seem that the writers don’t care about this dynamic. But imo it’s quite the opposite. They’ve kept them apart because their dynamic IS important. Will and El are the two protagonists with powers, the Luke and Leia of Stranger Things. Only, in this story it’s Will/Luke the one who realizes later he has powers, too. 

Even when they could show them together, the writers didn’t. In 2x07 El sees in the void that something bad happened to Will, but we don’t see him, only her scared face. And when in 2x08 she goes to see him in his room, he’s unconscious.

5)   The only time they’re both with their friends is in S3, and in that season the group of friends is a mess, because of Mike. He can’t function when they’re both with him. Will and El are even in love with the same boy! Their stories couldn’t be more intertwined. In S5 I’m sure the situation with Mike will be the first they’ll resolve.

6)  And then in S4, the beginning of the end, after keeping them apart for seasons, what happens? Will and Eleven become siblings and we finally see their bond and that they deeply care about each other. Ok, there’s still that little problem with Mike, but Will’s already proved how selfless he is when he lied about the painting and pushed Mike to tell El he loves her, to save her life. And I think the weird love confession just showed El and Mike that it wasn’t what El needs.

I love these siblings. Together they’ll save the world

There are so many things to say about these two amazing characters. I’m so excited to see them in action in S5. But of course, stories can be told in many ways and even the best analysis can miss important details. So maybe I missed important things and S5 will have completely different surprises. No problem at all! For example, nobody could predict the introduction of Henry Creel, who’s also One, who’s also Vecna, the villain that’s been there since day one. We heard the ticking of a clock since the first time Eleven saw the Demogorgon in the void, we heard a clock when Will was taken, when Hopper was in the tunnels in S2, and when Billy was taken by the Mind Flayer in S3. But we didn’t know what those sounds meant. It was such an amazing surprise!

2.   S5 SPOILERS.  These interviews. I would be very surprised if Will Byers was just a normal kid who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But we’ll see! 

Also, an interview with the Duffer Brothers:

Q: How significant is it that the Upside Down has been frozen in time from the day that Will got taken? 

A: Very significant. We don’t actually resolve that this season (S4), but it’s a huge part of S5.

And an interview with Noah Schnapp, who plays Will:

“I think they’re setting it up very well for what needs to happen in season 5. I’m excited. I’m interested to see how they tie it all in and explain why was Will the first victim and just tie it in back to season 1.”

I edited this part after learning some important info on D&D Vecna. I talk more about it in Part III

3. Why Will was sidelined in S3 and S4, if he is so important 

Many people, including me, were disappointed that after the spectacular S1 and S2, Will was sidelined for two seasons. I mean, he does have an arc in S3-4 but we were used to see him as the main focus along with El. In S3 he wants to keep playing D&D and spending time with Mike and the party. That’s what makes him happy. But he feels like Mike is abandoning him. And in S4 he has some wonderful scenes that I love and make the last part of his journey more  beautiful. Plus, the connection to Vecna is back! Hint of Will’s big role in S5.

But why, if Will was the target since S1, Vecna ignored him in S3, took Billy instead and only attacked El? Why in S4 Vecna mentioned all the things El did to fight him (closing the gate in S2 etc), when Will was important too? He was the one, while still possessed, who told them to close the gate.

Imo, the reason is that in S3 El was the only threat. Vecna knew that Will couldn’t use his powers for whatever reason, and he needed to steal El’s powers first to be able to open his own gates, and then reclaim Will (Will being central in S5).

 And in S4 Will wasn’t even in Hawkins so... Yeah, in S5 Vecna could tell Will that he waited. That he took El’s powers so he could open bigger gates and finally take Will wherever he was. So far, that part of the plan worked! Also, now Will can feel Vecna's thoughts again. Maybe their connection is even stronger and harder to fight with those huge gates. 

4. In conclusion

Will and Eleven have been suspiciously kept apart for most of the series, despite their clear connection. And now we know that Will has also many similarities with another powerful person, Henry. The actor who plays Henry said that the their characters have history, Will can feel what Vecna feels even tho he’s not part of the hive mind anymore. Plus, the neck tingle. Narratively speaking, I think it’s obvious that there’ll be some big reveals about him in S5. They even sent him to California at the end of S3, so he wouldn’t feel Vecna’s thoughts. But now he’s back. Time for an epic coming of age, Will.

omg hi circular o/ sorry for the wait i did enjoy my trip :DD god help me with my sunburn tho. anyway omg gothi!!

2 . if there was one thing i had to pick, i’d say her stoicism/monotony. despite the fact she’s living in a very unstructured environment, the opposite of the foreclaimer society she came from, and to be on the brink of being kicked out of and disgraced by and harmed by that foreclaimer society, she still is one, and that cannot change. does she miss her home? her family? did she have friends other than xanu? does she miss them? does she think that despite it all, her “defective” empathy being demonized, she still would like to remember? when she saw rachaka, did she have a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, it would be a little bit like the old home that she missed that was decimated by her oldest friend? or does she think that place kind of sucked but miss her parents and the food? we don’t know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ basically, her whole backstory as well as foreclaimer race

3 . the most inconvenient aspect of her character is her friendship with xanu. xanu himself is a whole tangle that im not confident will be untangled considering the fact he has a status as a joke character in the interval between regicide and their emotional moment, which, for what he is, isn’t great. i feel like there’s an incongruence that should be addressed with xanu wanting to commit genocide and kill thousands of people, and him also just being gothi’s comic relief friend. but that’s a gripe with xanu’s character, not gothi. i hope they address this sooner than later. sorry for the negative nander moment lol

4 . honestly, i feel like she belongs in a very, very old epic akin to gilgamesh where she goes on a solo journey to reveal different aspects of her character (definitely with a different motive tho lol). i’m imagining illustrations like the ones we saw on the foreclaimer tapestries and her meeting another defective foreclaimer with parallels to old gothi handing her their power crystal they took out as their own choice, so they could enjoy life to the fullest and try to escape the clutches of foreclaimer society. basically, emotional solo adventure with jawbone moments.

to ur last question, im sorry,, i haven’t even looked in the direction of fools gold sands. i’m considering listening to it in the future, but eh. don’t count on it. apologies for the inconvenience. it looks really good from what i’ve seen of it actually, i might try to draw rooster.

in conclusion: RAD!! there’s so many things you can do with her character design too, like with her mask (something like the one she had at the celebration maybe, idk i just thought it was pretty) there’s also a lot you can do with the components of her design. her swamp aesthetic is so cool and i love how even when she’s fancy she still goes barefoot. thank you for letting me ramble, and sorry again for the wait

Ok I know NOTHING about anime, okay? Anything I say was great or not so great might refer to Trigun Stampede specifically, or it might just be an anime thing in general because That's What An Anime Is. I can't tell the difference.

LOVED the intro song (Tombi by Kvi Baba). Constantly listening to it right now. It's hauntingly beautiful yet so easy-going and chill. I looked up the lyrics and they're about being a light in the darkness, I dig that theme!

LOVED Meryl from the start. A level-headed young lady who craves the truth, justice, and knowledge beyond herself because it's the right thing to do. She cares so much. She doesn't steal any spotlight by interfering or by being dramatic. She simply observes, listens to instructions that will save her life, and draws her own conclusions. I'm glad we got to experience the plot through her perspective first! A "journalist investigating a story" may seem like such a dumb start - could be Hallmark. But in this Space Western setting, it's perfect.

VASH MY BELOVED. I hated his intro because it made him seem so dumb and silly. There's a difference between making a character seem naive so that he gets underestimated (bringing in the - surprise! - big guns later), and making him outright ooc to create a false first impression. Idk I knew that his FIRST scene where he needed a bullet was not how his character would remain.

HIS CHARACTER DESIGN IS SO COOOOL!!! Idk from the outfit down to his martial arts skills matched with radical forgiveness and pacifism - DUDE. He's very complex. Idk yeah he lets himself get shot in total surrender but there is the part where one bullet won't immediately kill him and he knows it. There's also the part where Wolfwood challenges him on his beliefs, saying that for all his "peace and love on planet earth" talk he sure does not clean up after the messes he creates. The thing is - it's not so much about taking responsibility for the bounty on his head or something, but rather for the fact that his behavior evokes confused, angry and frightened reactions because it comes unexpected to a human society that is drilled on survival. As much as he CHOOSES not to use violence time and time again, I think he needs to cultivate some awareness that this is unusual behavior and that it triggers people to do crazy things (based on insecurity) around him. On the positive side, he confronts each and everyone with their personal tolerance for violence and tests their hearts that way. Beautiful.

The actions scenes take my breath away. They are so so so so good. I am noticing the attention to detail and the accuracy to skill that everyone is describing. I am also highly enjoying the ingenuity of new moves and awesome use of weapons, physical strength and surroundings. I'm sorry, I can't explain the brilliance of these moves well - but you already know what I mean.

I didn't quite get the in-depth explanation of the conflict I think??? Like, I'm still not quite sure what a Plant is, why Vash and Nai are more intelligent than the rest of them, why they were in space to begin with and what exactly Knives was trying to achieve by traveling to a higher dimension? I really didn't get the angel theme and why Vash suddenly developed a wing and became dark (I like his darker look tho). I also don't quite understand Nai as a character. To ensure the survival of Plant seems like an understandable cause for his actions, but why be so cruel and uncaring about it? It doesn't explain his maniac barbarity. Explanations are more than welcome!

What is your obsession with Livio about?? I mean I know, he was epic in that one scene he appeared in, and his bond with Wolfwood was genuine and deep. But he literally took himself out like a light, so... where's all that additional Livio content coming from? It's also really sad. Like... he never even gave himself one minute after waking up. That was a bit morbid.

Oh my gosh Vashmeryl is the og canon? I'm happy there wasn't any forced romance between anyone in this season. Only platonic connections for once. Amazing. Whatever Vash and Meryl end up as, I'll support both.

If there comes a Season 2, I will watch it!!! I don't know how far I'll take Trigun Stampede in fandom, but believe me, watching this has positively altered me forever. It's so FRESH.

He was thus banned from bringing any robots to basketball 😔 (I realize I haven’t talked abt moxie publicly- or Ember much for that matter. Moxie is a robot beetle that’s like a mini ortho, Ember built him and he just kinda hovers around him like Idia’s skull thingie)

unlike brett, she still suppresses her stims and is really shy about them. although rand obviously didn’t understand how they actually helped her focus so he never let them stim

she was so damn shy about them as a kid :( she only really was able to stim in her bedroom and even then she was so self conscious

orrin helped her embrace her stims but obviously she can’t remember that. But orrin is autistic too and they’d have lil stim sessions together in between sessions at school. orrin was diagnosed so he had more resources! but sadly his parents didn’t rlly care about him so him and reagan learned about autism together!

speaking of, that’s the reason why reagan is so reluctant about autism. she realised she matched up with all the traits, she told rand, but he shut her down saying that she’s “too smart to be autistic” (which isn’t true btw!!)

but back to stimming, I feel like reagan would really enjoy smelling essential oils. not ones that smell so strong they give yoy a headache, ones that have a nice smell that’s not too faint and not too strong. ones like maybe lavender, ylang ylang and the like.

she also likes fidget toys! but more small/discreet ones, like bicycle chains, slap bands etc

we know she hates hugs, but she melts when people ask her for a hug, and mostly accepts it when she’s asked.

she also has this.. one song she listens to on repeat? idk what it is, but anytime she gets over stimulated, she listens to it.

popping bubble wrap also helps when she’s stressed!! she likes textile stims a lot.

she struggles a lot with hygiene but when she does wash, she feels extremely claustrophobic in showers so she tends to take baths. but if the water is anything under burning, she gets extremly overstimulated.

In regards of Riddle's mother and what you said in your reply. What if she does have a palace? It could take place shortly after Riddle's own OB (that you said could take place between book 5 and 6). Maybe the PT decided that they should try to see Riddle's mom in the metaverse. Thinking that she will simply have a shadow (though they have a feeling she has more than that).

And they're right. She couldn't be found in the metaverse, for she has her own palace. What is it like? Maybe a twisted version of the Queen of Hearts' palace? Which form has been a disturbing mix between the beautiful palace with a twisted hospital. Here Riddle have to fight himself to wholly accept the truth about his mother's thought and 'affection' to him all these years. While Ren and the other's PT members (would be great tho, if they already have Akechi here) have to see the sadness and prison that is Riddle's own life. For even with Ren's help and friendship all these years, it could only soothe so much of Riddle's pain, that he has to endure and live with from the moment he taste that sweet, sweet strawberry tart.

But first... We would have to put in place the rooster. If we want to have Aketchi on the team, we have to take account of the fact that Riddle's supposed ob would be in between chap 5-6, therefore in early February. Most likely we can close in the dates in between Sae's palace and this ob if we say Riddle's ob was during VDC camp.

That means that Ren would basically start his 2nd year during Riddle's end of the 1st and finish it while Riddle had his 2nd year. (man... Japanese-European systems are hard to pin-point :v)

For Riddle's bonus for the team, one thing he had would be to force the targets into prolonging the deadline, hence the palaces periods get longer, the confessions/change of hearts are going later and later until Sae's palace falls in February, along the VDC, hence the ob happens during that infilrtation period.

I just imagine Trey being a main tipping point for the ob, so I just see after the PTs get the news about it, they would just bang at Trey's door with guns and everything. Like sure cake man.. You have exactly 15 seconds if Haru is in a good mood. :3

As for Mrs rosehearts palace, Aketchi might be the one to draw a conclusion that maybe they should look into Riddle's home life a bit. Cue, trying his mom's name.

Riddle's absolutely horrified to find out his mother, of all people, had a palace. And quite an extreme one.

I would take that theme of the queen of hearts palace, but make it more morbid. Like a group of towers that immiate the feel of a palace, all representing different things such as money, fame, knowledge, etc.

And the main gig of this palace would be that it was a maze. The more you get lost from the main towers, the more morbid it looks, with more vicious shadows. The treasure would be at the top of the tallest tower and manifests as a flag, symbolising just who runs the place.

And a few notable cognitions would be trey and Che'nya. Seen as some bulglars, while her cognition of Riddle would be a perfect little doll prince, the difference being that he had a crack on his face from. Where roses grew out. That crack was representing Riddle leaving for NRC and being out of his mother's full influence.

This of course would alter a bit Riddle's ability of prolonging the deadline, therefore this palace, just like Shido's, will have much shorter deadline.

Also Ren would have a lot of influence there, as he was Riddle's first official friend and even more than just best friend at how close they grew. So during this palace period, Riddle as a confidant will grow a lot, but even so, his original persona(as in the last post I mentioned that for the metaverse to act as a bridge, Ren and Riddle are both wildcards, which imprints tied together via metaverse) does evolve into it's 2nd form only when he faces his mother's shadow and steals the treasure.

Another thing would be that after the overBlot, Trey and the others at NRC will try to mend things, only to notice that Riddle hanged out and talked a lot with other people, whom he apparently befriended since some time. Welp... Another jab in the pride I guess.

Also a thing that I forgot to talk about would be Riddle's own confidants and how they influence each other. Ryuji would teach him to loosen up a bit, Ann will help with fashion skills, Yusuke probably with art influence end expressing oneself, Makoto with standing up for something, Futaba mostly tech and some geek things and Haru might teach him gardening. Not sure about Aketchi or Kasumi(as we follow the royal version) tho. Unlike Ren's, Riddle's confidants take different tarot cards. For example, if Ryuji is the Chariot confidant for Ren, then for Riddle he is the Tower. :v

Although Riddle as Ren's confidant is marked by the 'Reflection' card, which is vice-versa, marking the fact that both are wildcards and also both had history together previous to the main adventure.

So, after spending a week in Italy I can notice these subjective differences in our cultures:

- Italians are very quick to hug, and their hugs are more... cuddling? than those that Russians usually give to their friends as greetings/goodbyes. Considering that I literally have a tag saying “I want :( a hug :(((” it’s very convenient :D can’t wait to see how much more hugs one can get in winter!;

- people feel very free about singing to themselves. like at any moment they can start humming a tune, even if there’s someone else in the room, even if it’s in a professional setting. it’s adorable, I'm doing my best to adopt this habit;

- the food is. so good. I thought I was a picky eater, but maybe I’m just a shitty cook 😂 I miss Russian pastries though, here most of the pastry I’ve seen I could finish in two bites. no substance, only taste!;

- also people seem to be quick to help strangers? not that I want to draw conclusions from a single encounter, but the second I fell from the bike there were like 3 or 4 strangers keeping me company and giving me band-aids and stuff. Compare and contrast to that time in high school when I walked home for 40 minutes shaking and leaning on the walls and bawling the whole time and got asked if I’m alright one (1) time.

So all in all this is has been a very positive experience so far, at least on the interpersonal level (fuck the Italian banks tho. fuck them sideways with a rusty fork)

The only drawback is when everyone around you suddenly switch to Italian and you’re sitting there like :| non capisco, sono scema

I obvs was ready for people speaking their own language around me, but I wasn’t prepared for how alienating it would feel. When it’s more than an hour it gets really bad...

Also surprisingly while I don’t suffer from homesickness (yet?), I really miss speaking Russian. I can speak Russian to the cat though, she doesn’t mind xD

Oh Lordt.

Parents came up for a weekend and wanted to see a baseball game. Went to game and it’s pride night. My parents are “straight people don’t get a whole month” kind of people. I told my mom we have Toyotathon.

Next day we go to small town nearby to shop and bop. What’s that? Small festival with food trucks? Great let’s go! Pride festival. We get a beer and rainbow wristbands and walk around. Dad can’t quite stand it. Not sure if he has something against pride festivals or if he’d just been standing too long. Hard To Say.

Mom wants to go to a Saturday night church service. Only Lutheran church with a service is a Everyone is Welcome here type church where they are celebrating pride month, Father’s Day, and Juneteenth all in one. There is a talk from a mom about her daughters transition. There are new bathroom signs they are proud of. The service goes way long as a woman is giving a Very Intense Sermon that is actually her life story and by the end I’m sobbing because her brother died after contracting HIV. We have to skip out early because it’s the longest Lutheran service I’ve been to. Longer than a Christmas service. And we have reservations for dinner so we gotta go.

I’d like to state for the record that I was not planning on giving my parents the talk about this stuff this weekend.

I was told hey we’re coming down come to a baseball game.

We’re in the car. Drivin. I’m stressing. I’m fielding comments about People. I’m trying my best. But guys I’m straight. I’m cis. I’m never right. I don’t use the right words. And my mom is asking me to explain it all. Pronouns. What are they. Nonbinary. Intersex. She has combined NB and trans in her mind. Do all trans people use they/them? Nobody introduces themselves with pronouns do they? Dads cutting in with Comments.

She just feels like people are spending all day walking around talking about who they want to have sex with! Or at least that’s what tv is telling her. I try to explain that it actually comes up very little. It can be as easy as someone just letting you know they are going through some medical changes. Maybe needing some help with those changes. Or maybe you need to learn a new name. Like how when someone changes their maiden name and it’s hard to make the switch but very expected and you know it’s rude to do it wrong.

And guys maybe I got through to her? I tried some jokes. I tried to keep it on the level of: we don’t want to deliberately hurt people and everyone is different and if they want you to call them a certain name or refer to them as a boy or a girl then that’s kind and pretty simple. No one has the same life experience so I just trust them to tell me about themselves and we go from there. She agreed with that of course.

The church was a bit weird. There wasn’t really anything church focused there at all and it had kind of culty vibes. They were talking a TON about their inclusivity work but never once mentioned any disability inclusion. Which was the one demographic that that very white Minnesotan congregation could probably understand the best. We chatted about that and how that can make us feel like outsiders. Both of them wear hearing aides now and obviously we have my brother who is severely disabled. So that was a bit of a touchstone for them.

My guys I’m so exhausted tho. I always feel like I’m trying so hard with them. To combat the shit they hear from their friends and the rest of our family. They love people and I think delight in silliness and uniqueness. And they’ve got this crazy wall on this one issue. I just think I’m the only person they know who tries to explain it to them.

I just want my parents to be nice people. I’m a little worried about my dad. Since he’s retired I think he gets more and more of his life from the internet. And his adhd brain and dyslexia combine to make him skip around from weird inflammatory headline to inflammatory headline making up shit and drawing conclusions as he goes.

Never had i felt this kind of mixed emotions ever in my life. But then, this is life. Never goes the way you wanted when it needed the most.

Had a really, really nice weekend, spending the time with her. Not just her, but unexpectedly with her mom and her younger brother. But still, it’s good knowing them. I’m kinda glad that i get to know them.

We became much closer than the last time we met. Gave her a gift, something that she really craves. I don’t care what she thinks of it, but I’m just really glad that i could gave it to her as a gift. To be honest, it’s not that I don’t care what she thinks of the gift, actually I really hope she likes it. But we’ll get there on why i said that i don’t care what she thinks of it.

These three days I’m spending time with her, for her pre-birthday celebration (her birthday is on a weekday, so sadly i couldn’t be there for her special day, eventhough i really wanted to, just for the sake of seeing her happy face), it’s like I’m dreaming. Dreaming of her. Dreaming of us. Just living in the moment. Be happy. Just the two of us. Went to Van Gogh exhibition. Felt lively. It’s kinda ironic when you felt amazed by the arts and drawings of a painter whose life’s a tragedy. But it makes me think of something. To acknowledge and appreciate life, before it’s too late.

That’s what i feel about her.

Hoping that she knows and understand what i feel for her. It’s not that i want her to commit in a relationship with me, immediately. I understand that she’s still not ready to be in one. Still, the point is, i want her.

Before i left her hometown, before i sent her off to her home, i try to gain as much courage as i can to say the right words. But, as stupid as i am, that one hour (yes, my dumb brain is trying to think of a way to confess to her for 60 minutes) of silence mixed with a lil bit of joking, try and error, a bit of awkward moments that’s not that awkward actually (for me), comes with a weird conclusion. She said to me that, “you know I’m not looking for a relationship” and i said yes, i knew that. But she still wanna be friends with me. She can be my best friend. And I’m okay with that.

But not that okay.

It kinda confuses me.

Made me think, what have i done wrongly? Is it that I’m not saying the right words? Or is it just her that’s actually sees me as a really good friend, and i’m the only one in this that sees her as someone who could be more than friend?

The way she treats me, i see it differently. I see it as a girl who really cares about me, who really likes me. It’s like all the stars and the planets aligned, just for us. But maybe I’m just daydreaming a lot. Put too much expectations on myself.

Even with that happened to me, I’m not thinking of her badly. Not even a bit, eventhough I’m a bit disappointed. She’s really a good person. I see her as a beacon of light. The kind that would pull me out of my past. But maybe it’s just that i was hoping too much. Disappointed because she does not felt the same as me.

Being the naive guy that i am, i do think that i see her as a kind of person whose need to be convinced. Of me. I do think that with patience and perserverance, she would slowly sees me as what i hoped her to see me.

But i also need to realise, that the world doesn’t revolve around me. If it is truly what it is, that she sees me as a friend, nothing more than that, i need to accept it. If it’s true then, there’s only one thing i could think of.

Loving her is to make her happy.

Even if that means i didn’t get anything in return.

But i do get something in return tho. She makes me feel loved, as i never had felt before in my life. If it’s just a friendship, it’s a friendship that i will always cherish.

That’s why i don’t care of what she thinks of the gift. Or to be exact, what she thinks of me when she sees the gift. The gift is something that she really likes, but that’s not the point here. Just hoping that she would appreciate my efforts and lengths that i went, just for her.

Still, I’m looking forward to meet her again. To spend time with her again. I know that this won’t be the last time i meet her. Just hoping things won’t get awkward after i tried to confess to her.

At the very least, i still want to feel alive.

I finally finished Connect and I have to say that I never knew that 40 minutes could be so long

Every episode felt like forever and I cant believe I watched all six of it

Overall : 6.5/10 (and I'm being nice here)

Casting/acting: 8

Story: 6 (it was predictable, everyone was hella dumb and the drama had more plot holes than a swiss cheese)

Conclusion:

It'll definitely have a second season, with some luck they'll cancel it and use the money in something better

Those actors deserved a better drama but I get them accepting it bc it would be an opportunity to play smt different and show they can do more than romcom

Some extra thoughts (mostly about the last episode) in no order:

Basically we had 2 serial killers, bc that girl was killing everyone;

By the end she got a giant to be her attack dog and they obviously were hinting about him being a first generation of the connects that were a lot less refined and didn't go "right"

The guy that had his head ripped off and his body kept moving and gesturing was a really wtf moment

The main guy going to meet the serial killer where he told him to go, without help, without a plan and full of confidence even tho he was proven to be really easy to get unconscious was beyond stupid... ok big guy, u're unkillable but he's obviously smarter, more prepared and willing to do anything necessary to have what he wants and he wants u as his new toy and u know it

The eye not coming back to the main even tho he got close to the serial killer a bunch of times in the last episode was so stupid... Like we already know he doesn't need to be even conscious, or alive, for things to comeback to him (like when he was all open and dead in the doctor's table and everything just fixed itself) and it should have comeback in the first time they got close and the serial killer got his face hella close when he was poisoning him... The eye should have got through the mask right there, but no let's wait for the end of the episode bc we want to drag this

The healing process not having any time consistency and just going wtv would work in the scene was soooo stupid

The last bit with the tentacles coming out of the people who had parts transplanted was so obvious and everyone knew it was coming and it was purely a new season opening opportunity... but please just end it there, LET IT DIE! no one needs more of this story

The pharmaceutical industry being the one to have created the connects was not original but them having enough budget and balls to send several helicopters to go after them in the city was smt... The scene of the helicopters coming from under the top of the building was pretty much a rip off of the scenes of military trying to get the people they tested on back, of every american shows where someone got powers

The entire drama was bullshit but the drawings were pretty
