Welcome to Thomesa week 2022!

What is this? It‘s a week dedicated to our beloved ship Thomas/Teresa from Maze Runner—Thomesa as we call them 🤍

How does it work? For each day of the week, there is a prompt, see the prompt list here. You can create and contribute something for every day, just for one day, or pick and chose the ones you like best—it's your call!

I want to write fanfiction, how and where do I post it?

You post your fic to ao3, and you can post the entire fic on tumblr as well, or just make a tumblr post with the link to the fic on ao3.

ao3: ao3 is a website where you can post fanfiction and other fanworks. If you do not already have a profile, you will need to make one. There is an ao3 collection for Thomesa Week 2022 where you will post your work, find it here. You click the button "Post to Collection" and then post your work as usual. You can upload your work even before the actual week takes place—I will make the works visible at the day of the according prompt. If it is your first time posting to ao3 I'm happy to help you figure things out—just slide into the inbox or asks.

tumblr—post entire fanfic: you can post your entire fanfiction here on tumblr. You will typically include some basic info in the beginning of your post, such as a title, word count, content warnings if applicable, a short summary if you want to. When you post fanfiction on tumblr, it is important to add a read more break.

tumblr—post link to your ao3 fic: you can compose a post with basic info about your fanfic (again this will usually be title, word count, content warnings if applicable, a summary or teaser quote if you want to) and insert the according ao3 link. If you only want to post it to ao3, I can make a tumblr post for you.

I have made fanart, how and where do I post it?

ao3: It is possible to upload images to ao3. Again, you will upload it to the Thomesa Week 2022 Collection

tumblr: You can upload it to tumblr. Add a quote to your fanwork or how you felt when you made it, your thoughts on it—that's all up to you.

How does fic Day 3 - fic rec day work?

Make a tumblr post (only one per person). In it you can include links to your favorite Thomesa fanfiction, fanart of them, youtube videos, anything you really liked. If the fanart was posted in a tumblr post, insert the link to the post and tag the creator's profile if possible. Do not upload images that aren't your own.

For the fanfictions, I encourage you to add a quick summary (you can also just use the author‘s summary for this), and personal reference to the work—tell us what you liked about the fic and why it is one of your favorites. Note: you are very welcome to include your own previously posted fanworks.

💙: who is more protective?

hmmmm. we've all got this image of stuck up teresa who needs likes to be in control, but honestly i can see brenda being more protective. like fiercely protective, be it if anyone teases teresa (or even looks like they're going to laskdjfa). but. and this is a little bit sad, but i think the person brenda most protects teresa from is teresa herself.

i think teresa is an incredibly self-critical person who can really downtalk and devalue herself in a mean, mean way. i'd say teresa often doesn't even notice she's doing this, like she'll be feeling absolute shit, and then brenda notices and is able to gently disentangle the threads tangling and burning and hurting teresa in her mind. and teresa will let out a sigh she hasn't even realized she was holding, and breathe freely for the first time in days.

and she'll look up at brenda and try to say something, thank y- but brenda just touches a hand to her face and says "it's okay. i know." and teresa leans into the touch, and the smile on her face is a happy one.

ohhhhhh a thomesa question Thank You!!

so. we all know thomas is really bad at holding back, and he loves quickly and deeply and is often overwhelmed by his feelings. and this might lead us to believe that he'd be the one to say it first, but hear me out.

i think thomas knows he does this fall too fast too hard - or let's rephrase that, bc in my mind thomas and teresa have always known each other for a long time, whatever universe they're in. so but the thing is, thomas knows he has a tendeny to go too much too soon, and that maybe he sometimes needs to leave some space, let things take their time and go their own way.

and, surprisingly, when teresa and him go from friends to lovers, this isn't all that hard. he loves her, definitely loves her, he's known that for ages by now - or for not so long, he might have just realized recently as well - but the thing is his love for teresa is strong. stable. not flimsly and scary and whimsical like some of the crushes he's had before, it doesn't feel like he's falling headfirst, tumbling into free fall without knowing whether he'll be able to fly or just shatter on the pavement below.

so. he doesn't say it. he thinks teresa must know he loves her, he feels the safety of being with her, but still, when one day teresa looks up from the biology papers she's reading for next term, looks at him a little too long, he feels his breath catch in his throat. he somehow knows it's gonna happen now, and thinks teresa can see that as well, because her face breaks out into a gentle smile.

"you know i love you, right?"

"yeah," thomas breathes.
