most hits: Sleeping Beauty (thorki, smut, 6.2k words). One of my relatively early thorki fics from back in the kinkmeme days, full of somnophilia and various other kinks and delicious bottom!Thor with a side of Loki angst. (I bet I know why this one has a disproportionate number of hits to kudos. seems like it has a lot of. ah. reread value *waggles eyebrows*)

second-most kudos: Thunder and Other Things (thorki, 22.7k words). My take on the standard thorki arranged marriage with Jotun Loki trope... but because it's me writing it, he quickly gets Thor pregnant.

third-most comments: LMD (thorki+ (it's complicated), IW/EG AU-ish, 67k words). I guess it makes sense for one of my longer and serially posted fics to have lots of comments, even though it was written after the fandom had gotten so much quieter in recent years.

fourth-most bookmarks: Fimbulwinter (thorki, Wintersmith AU, 28.7k words). I still have a huge soft spot for this one. I love the way the story just seemed to be waiting to be uncovered, the way the roles just slipped over them, perfectly fitted. I love it when I get to play around with mythic references and resonances.

fifth-most words: What You Are in the Dark (thorki, horror, 37k words). One of my spookyfics, but one that started out from a single scene/concept of Thor getting consentacled by tentacle-monster Loki who was horrified by what his transformed body was doing, and it grew to a pretty sizeable story to explain that scene. Figuring out how to make that work was fun XD

least words: Two Thefts (Brothers Karamazov, Mitya/Alyosha, 100 words). It's a true drabble, what can I say? I come from old fandom where the art of drabbling was an important skill. Of course it's exactly 100 words long.

(Alternatively, if we stick with Thor fandom fics, it would be Jotun Thor Is Thor's Fursona, which is 377 words. I still recall hastily writing and posting it in response to a mutual's shitpost while getting ready to run out the door to head down to Comic-con and then not realizing how it had landed until I was able to actually sit down and scroll tumblr hours later XD good times, good times.)

With a tired sigh, Loki removed the horny helmet from his head as soon as he entered the backstage building, the door shutting behind Thor who followed after him.

“Man, I can't wait to take this thing off,” Thor said, taking off his helmet too.

“Yeah, same. It's too hot today,” Loki agreed, tugging at the neckline of his costume. “At least your costume doesn't have sleeves.”

“Yay for small miracles, I guess.” Coming to walk beside him, Thor smiled at him, bumping their shoulders together, making Loki smile, too, despite his discomfort.

They had met when they had both auditioned for the roles of, ironically enough, <i>Thor</i> and <i>Loki</i> from the blockbuster Disney movies. Loki Fergusson, who was still a university student back then, needed an easy part time job and Thor Bjornson, who was backpacking through the USA, needed some easy cash so he could continue with his traveling. Now, five years later, they were both still working at Disney World, taking on longer and longer shifts while looking for better jobs in their field (Loki) or saving up to return home (Thor).

They hadn't clicked right away—Thor was too energetic, too extroverted, while Loki was the exact opposite, preferring the few hours of peace and quiet he got over going out and partying his salary away. But having to play the brothers in the amusement park and, later, moving in together to share the costs—they already spent more than half the day together at that point, why not share an apartment closer to their place of work too?—had led to them becoming very close friends, despite their differences.

Entering their air-conditioned dressing room, finally, Loki sighed in relief for the coolness of the room and placed the helmet on its shelf, clicking his tongue at Thor chucking his carelessly on the sofa.

“Can you get the zipper for me? I need to get this off ASAP or I may perish.”

“Yeah, sure.”

He felt Thor's warmth when he stepped close behind him, goosebumps spreading on his skin as Thor’s fingers brushed his hair away and caressed the back of his neck on their way to the zipper. Surely on accident.

“Re-enacting Titanic today was pretty fun,” Thor said, the zipper making a soft hissing sound as it was pulled down Loki's back.

“I swear to God, these fans will have us kissing before long,” Loki answered with a soft laugh.

Thor hummed, fingers hovering, still holding the zipper.

“Maybe we should,” he said after a moment, finally parting the zipper and pushing the fake leather jacket from Loki's shoulders, his hands almost too warm on Loki's body through the protective t-shirt he was wearing beneath the costume.

When Loki spoke his voice came out breathless. “Do what?”

Thor stepped closer, pushing the jacket down his arms, tucking his face on the side of Loki's head.

“Kiss,” he whispered, lips brushing against the shell of Loki's ear.

Heart beating hard inside his ribcage, Loki felt the jacket falling over his hands, cuffing them in the fabric.

“W-what?”

Thor came around him, standing in front of him now, not meeting his wide, hopeful eyes as he took first one and then his other hand to release them from the sleeves.

“Just sayin’, the fans want it, the creators insinuate it, why shouldn't we give them what they want?” he said, flippantly almost.

“Oh,” Loki said dejectedly, feeling as if the air had left him entirely, his lungs squeezing inside him suffocatingly. “I thought–I–yeah, I don't know–the managers–” Loki stammered.

Loki <i>never</i> stammered. But it was hard not to when there was no breath inside him and his heart was hurting so painfully.

“Fuck the managers. We aren't going to work at this place all our lives, Loki. Let's have some fun before we move on to better things.”

<i>Better things</i>. Loki felt his eyes sting.

Too-warm hands cupped both sides of Loki's neck, making him refocus his zoned out sight to Thor's face as he ducked slightly to stare directly at him.

A small, hopeful, idiotic smile was curling his lips.

“Don't make that face. What I want to say is that I really want to kiss you stupid, idiot.”

Blood shot to Loki's head, making him feel lightheaded suddenly, his cheeks burning. He slapped Thor on his bare bicep, looking at him angrily.

“You <i>asshole</i>! I thought you weren't interested in me!”

Thor laughed, stocking Loki's ire as he left a soft peck on the tip of his straight nose.

“What do you say, should we practice?” He asked, stepping closer, brushing their noses together for a sweet moment before Loki tipped his head and slid their lips together.

“Idiot,” Loki whispered against Thor's soft lips. His arms coming up around broad shoulders as they chased after another kiss, swallowing Thor's insufferable little chuckle with his tongue.

2024 edition of Analysing Ram's fanfic collection! 2022 and 2023 editions are there. A few days late but we're still going strong!

Same disclaimer as before, all the ships I've been into are in there under the readmore and some of them are weird, if you thinks some stuff is freaky (derogatory) you probably don't want to look (especially this year!!). Which is fine, see you another time :)

For those who don't mind freaky stuff, come have fun with me once again as I marry my passion for fandom and simple statistics.

... So this is kind of insane for me.

I got into Daredevil a little after last year's edition, and after a full year and about three intense phases of Being Really Into Daredevil (the TV show, I should say right now. I've been meaning to get into the comics but we're not there yet), you can see that I uh. I liked it! Almost 600 fics, jesus. That's more than any of my other fandoms, and by so far it's not even funny. Clearly it shows when I download every fic I read. To be clear most of that folder is Mattfoggy, self-explanatory and uncontroversial I think.

I also got into Baldur's Gate 3, which is probably my folder with the most gen stuff in it, maybe even including my gen folders. That's because 1) I played the game and romanced someone (I'll give you a guess. I'll give you one fucking guess.) so it felt a little strange reading ship fic for a game when you've played an active role in the story? and 2) because for once there isn't just one ship I'm into. All of these fuckers have so much potential chemistry with everyone else it's kind of wild. You could take any of the main six/eight companions, put them together, and I'd see it! So, genfic, and a fair bit of Bloodpact because I'm extra-compelled by Astarion and Wyll having Issues together and kissing about it. Once again, normal. Note that I did also buy merch for this, because there was cool merch I could actually get! So I have nice stickers and a portkey on top of 200 fics.

Then we enter the Zone Of Shame, the elephant in the room: why does Ram, who spent years of her life deliberately ignoring anything MCU related in any way, shape or form, who actively tried not to know who any of these people were when people told her about it, and who fell asleep before a few of the movies during family movie night, have three folders and about 350 MCU fics on her phone? Why indeed. Well, my best explanation is Daredevil snuck up on me and then I got overtaken by a fever. And now here I am. A changed woman. Scouring blogs from 2012 to get glimpses of what it was like back then.

The two main ships I've been really into are Stucky, because I watched Winter Soldier and I have eyes, though I did kind of hesitate with Stony because yeah I see it, and Thorki, because I watched Thor and I have eyes because I heard it was a thing, got curious, looked into it, and started Seeing It very fast. For about a week I'd watched Thor 1 and I thought, eh, I don't know why everyone was so into this, and then somehow something clicked in my brain I guess?? And then here I am, about three months later, coming out of AO3 searches bloodied and dizzy.

The rest of the changes are minor, I added a class folder for class stuff, a few fics here and there, kept going with Venom and doubled that folder, kept reading porn, planned to read (/actually read!) a few published books, etc. The last notable things are I found like 30 things to add to my misc folder, don't know where, and I somehow got rid of 4 Warrior Cats books? I'm guessing I had duplicates?

In conclusion, this year in fanfic, I read a lot of Mattfoggy, and got really into a beloved fandom classic (Stucky), the most obvious characters I could have gotten into (Astarion and Loki), and a truly "problematic ship" (Thorki). They grow up so fast... Absolutely crazy to me that when I log all the fics I read in a year (and I could have read more!) I end up almost doubling my fanfic folder. I was at 1.7k last year and I added like 1.4k, that was a huge shocker! So many good fics....

(BTW I knew the whoole time I would be insanely into Loki and Tony Stark, and I was Correct. Whatever that kind of character is they're like fucking catnip to me. Immediate blorbo. I need to read more Tony centric stuff but I've been trying not to be so so in love with that guy since I was like 13 so. Hard to break the habit. Astarion is also Like That and as soon as I saw his face I knew and I was once again Correct. I'm predictable.)

[ILU! Let's see what my Loki thinks and if any of this changes in the future XD]

A - Alone time (how do they get off when they’re all by themselves? do they watch porn, is it all in their imagination, do they jerk off, do they use toys?) 

// When you're a master illusionist, you're absolutely going to craft illusions to enact whatever you're fantasising about at the time, which has also meant for some horrendously embarrassing teen situations when your brother won't leave you the fuck alone and barred doors mean shit all when he's determined. Obviously the same applies in reverse the amount of times Loki has projected in on Thor at the worst moments. Sometimes on purpose when he's with a woman. Anyway, this is about Loki. Usually illusions. If he's tired or lazy, touching him or herself without that is an option. He also enjoys using his magic to enhance sensation or to stimulate an immediate orgasm if he's frustrated and wants it over with quickly. Asgard doesn't really have recorded porn in the Midgardian form, so he makes do with his illusions, although there are many enchanted scrolls and books in circulation that fulfil similar purposes. Yes, he watched some of Tony Stark's sex tapes.

// Both. Definitely both. He enjoys having his partners tied up and at his mercy, but he also revels in feeling like he's dangerous enough to need restraining. He likes to be a brat about it. There are situations where he feels secretly turned on when it is done against his will but it depends how powerless he feels and who he is with whether that powerlessness will be enjoyed. With someone he is frightened of, he does not like it at all. Loki is a complicated thing when it comes to his power balance and his kink needs. He can surprise himself and others what he will or won't enjoy in the moment.

// I think this is entirely partner dependent. Loki thrives in switchy relationships. If he's with someone who is one or the other, he prefers sub males and dom females. He can lean a little more toward dominant at times because he likes control and to show his partner what he can do for them and to tease them. However, if he either trusts someone or has the hots enough for someone that he'll allow them to dominate him, he loves to get bossed about as a brat and made to behave. He has more experience being a dom and by default hasn't really allowed others to dominate him out of fear and distrust. Unofficially speaking he would allow the following people to dominate him (though this list isn't conclusive): Strange, Thor (in Thorki verses), Tony (if he's fancying a change from bottom), Sylvie, Sif. There is a limit to his being dominated. He doesn't like to feel like a pet, though a monster is a different matter. He doesn't like to play servant or be degraded or humiliated unless there is a specific circumstance that turns him on. Mostly he prefers to be told off in a way that makes him feel cheeky and clever; he likes to be threatened; manhandled and/or restrained.

// Oh, man. I've likely missed something but here's some stuff for now. Loki would be thrilled to role-play with a partner. He loves playing pretend and I think getting to do this in a sexual setting would probably keep him from so much of his acting out that he does elsewhere to everyone's cost. He is also able to shape shift into other people and species, which adds a whole other level to it. He is also into rape fantasy to a point, the romanticised Disneyfied kind where he or his partner would play-act as villain to the 'you fiend how dare you' counterpart. He likes elements of knife-play, but typically just the threatening aspect. He's not really into hurting his partners or being hurt or bled (though I'm exploring that a little in alternate threads) and the only time he likes blood to be involved in sex is if they're screwing in the blood of their slain enemies. He has a little bit of a thing for tentacles and monsters if he considers them handsome/beautiful enough (*cough* Strange Supreme) and he's very into Stark's armours. My Lokes might not have as many kinks as some others, not as much as I'd imagine his mythical origin to have, but he's pro the existence of most kinks. In his MCU form, he's generally too refined to find enjoyment in body substances. I recommend suggesting various kinks that aren't listed on this quiz and seeing what he says about them.

F - Food play (do they like using food in the bedroom? are there any foods they prefer to use during sex or foreplay? any they’d like to try?)

// I wouldn't say he's overly fussed about it but he would enjoy feeding a partner fruit or drizzling them in honey. Otherwise it would depend on the food. He's seen enough (and been one of) warriors at banquet tables not to often think about putting the two together unless he's in a very rare mood.

H - Humiliation (does degradation and insults get them hot? do they get off on humiliating someone else? what kind of humiliation is good for them?) 

// This is a complex one. Instinctively, Loki emphatically does not enjoy humiliation. He is prideful and insecure. He does not enjoy being treated like he is worthless or being ridiculed. However, there are blurred lines when it comes to certain relationships that involve a lot of banter. Strangefrost, for example, thrives on them insulting one another and revelling in each other's misfortune, but it has its limits. Sexual humiliation, particularly, is unlikely to make for a happy Loki. He is more tolerant of what I suppose you might call situational humiliation i.e. things go wrong for him and right for his opponent, he has bad luck, or gets temporarily outwitted. Anything that makes him feel treated like he's truly inferior or takes away his agency runs the risk of him leaving a sexual encounter or, worse, attacking his intended partner. When it comes to being the one doing the humiliating, Loki adores playing tricks on people and feeling cleverer than they are, so he does enjoy that aspect of teasing another, but usually only to the point of riling them up to fight back. He could entertain the idea of being cruel to someone if they asked him to, but it would venture into role-play territory for him to enjoy it. I could see him liking playing around with it as his dominant side, much like when he was throwing Tony around in the Avengers XD Back to the sexual side of things, anything related to bathroom usage is a no-go. Even if he treated someone like an animal, he'd want things clean.

// On Asgard, they have various different oils that serve as lubricant. They're a fairly sex positive culture when you've not got some princely expectation of you (which does very little to change that anyway). For anal sex, Loki keeps oils about his person to conjure up with magic when needed. For vaginal, his or her magic increases stimulation to help naturally prepare either a female partner or her own parts. Midgard, among other planets, though, has a lot more variety of options to have fun with and Loki approves. He's fascinated by varying flavours and sensations. Once he knows of them, he can mimic them with his illusions rather than needing to purchase anything but base lube. Sex with other species can end up not requiring lube e.g. tentacled beings who have their own natural secretions.

// Despite his fairly high pain tolerance, Loki does not enjoy pain. He can put up with it for a while if his mischief suffices to be amusing enough to him to be worth it. He can sort of enjoy it if he's engaging in rough sex or a foreplay fight; he likes the act of provoking people for a reaction, but the end goal isn't to get hurt. With scratching or biting he prefers it in play rather than making a mark. He will allow it more from human partners who likely won't damage him anyway. He does, however, very much like getting bossed around by certain partners, so long as he can be a brat about it all. Being talked down to is touchy for him and liable to make him angry; I'd say situation dependent. As for choked, haha, no. The only people he would allow to squeeze his throat are his brother (Thorki or otherwise) or regular human partners without extreme trust. Too much pressure will freak out a post Infinity War Loki. Other Lokis just don't find it a turn-on.

// Loki definitely enjoys the tease of orgasm delay whether for himself or for his partner. He likes to get people to an utterly desperate point and to use magic to keep them from going too soon, testing them to see if they will beg. He's a little bit more impatient to reach his own end, but having things drawn out is all part of the game. Denial is not something that he enjoys at all. It will make him angry. He might deny a partner if he's being a shithead or he's feeling vengeful. Denying partners touch would be something he would have fun with, though he would like it less for himself, I think. Needs like food or bathroom breaks he has no interest in denying. They aren't the same as carnal desire. Though, in darker verses, I could see him liking the control aspect of withholding food or water until a captive begged.

// This doesn't particularly interest Loki though he would enjoy putting on a show for a partner's attention. I wrote a frostiron fic on the subject once that covers a little of his feelings on it. He wouldn't send nudes in his male form, though in female form she would send suggestive pictures or ones of her in lingerie. He wouldn't say no to having tasteful nudes sent to him, but trusting a god of mischief with such things is your funeral. He'd be open to experimenting with recording something, but when he can recreate a memory with illusions he's not going to go out of his way for it.

Q - Quiet please (what’s the volume like in the bedroom? are they quiet? do they scream? do they like a loud partner? do they prefer if their partner is more soft spoken?)

// Situation dependent. Loki is capable of keeping himself quiet when necessary, though he likes to at least make soft ragged breaths. Typically he will make a medium amount of noise with snarls, gasps, and grunts. If the going is rough, he'll yell. In female form, she can be much noisier. Loud moans, cries, keens, shrieks, the works. He doesn't mind what volume his partner lets out, although he does enjoy the powerful feeling of managing to get loud noises out of a partner. As long as they're not just lying there like a doll making no noise, he'll have fun.

R - Routine (do they have a routine when it comes to picking up one night stands? do they have scheduled sex with their partner? are things spontaneous or planned ahead of time?)

// No routine, only chaos. Or so he likes to think. There may well be a pattern to the way he'd go about finding casual sex, even if he'd want to deny it in his mind to keep himself from feeling boring. Scheduled sex would depend on if his partner needed that, and he would spice it up with some aspects of surprise when it was his turn, or request it of his partner. Spontaneity is his preference.

S - Sleepy sex (do they give oral to wake their partner up? do they like receiving oral to wake up? do they like fucking their partner awake? being fucked awake? how about being fucked to sleep at night? do they have lazy morning sex?)

// If a partner is comfortable with it, Loki would probably enjoy touching or fucking them awake. If he's feeling cheeky or generous he might give oral, but only if he's in a comfortable enough relationship, sharing a bed. He likes being touched or sucked awake, but fucked awake would need some particular trust and would be partner dependent. Fucked to sleep he would enjoy, though the energy that would require might well break the bed. He'd absolutely go for lazy morning sex, though he wouldn't remain lazy for too long. Despite not being particularly a morning person, his Asgardian stamina (and his ingrained anxiety) would rouse him fairly quickly.

// Loki's a switch. Prefers to top in his male form unless he trusts/loves someone enough or is too riled up to care.

// In male form, he doesn't wear any. Female form she likes to wear a variety of the sexiest of lingeries.

V - Voyeurism (do they like to watch, or are they more hands on? are they more of an exhibitionist?)

// Whilst there is some pleasure in watching others have fun if they're putting on a show for him, Loki prefers to be involved. He likes attention and to feel wanted and he needs reassurance about that, without it being obviously stated. He doesn't want people to think he's needy. When Loki is drunk there is a much larger chance of him showing exhibitionist tendencies as he gets overexcited and misbehaviour outwins propriety. Sober, he's more likely to remain clothed, but that doesn't mean he won't put on a show. What voyeurism he does enjoy, however, is when he secretly catches people cheating on someone else or witnesses participants he hasn't expected. Free porn with a side order of blackmail is far sweeter.

// Yes to sex in water. It's a bit awkward but fun for a laugh and he's pretty good with balance and protecting his partners from harm. Watersports, no. He's pro people enjoying it as it's his in his remit to encourage being filthy but it's not personally for his MCU incarnation. For anyone unfamiliar with the term, it's the sexual kind of watersports rather than what Mobius is into.

X - X-dressing (do they crossdress as a part of teasing / foreplay? does crossdressing turn them on? turn their partner on? do they prefer to do it or watch their partner crossdress instead? do they use other costumes? cat ears, tails, etc?)

// It's not a particular kink of Loki's because he can literally transform his sex and shape. That said, I could see how some Lokis would love to do it as a big fuck-you to Asgardian masculinity culture. Unfortunately, this version of Loki is very caught up in that culture so he likes to feel masculine (in an elegant way) when he's male and feminine when he's female, or somewhere in between depending on the shape he takes. Whether he's turned on by a partner crossdressing would depend on the partner and whether he feels the garments suit them. Personally I don't think Hiddleston's build suits dresses for example but you'd have to put him in a dress that suited him and change my mind :P In female form she'd absolutely rock menswear. Now I really want to see what Loki looks like in full drag >.>

Y - Yes, Master (what kinds of names are used during sex? do they like being called master / mistress, daddy, etc…? what names do they call their partner?)

// Some of this will be partner dependent. Loki generally responds well to princely, kingly, or godly titles. Either during role-play or in darker threads he might like 'master'. He does not like being called daddy and he would never call someone else daddy except possibly in female form for either Strange or SIM if they wanted it, but it is not a kink of Loki's. He isn't really one for giving names either, though you may hear the occasional darling, dear (usually ironically), or 'sweet [insert name]'. He's more likely to give descriptions or call someone a precious mortal (if applicable) while he teases them. He could enjoy calling someone 'slave' in role-play. I recommend (carefully) calling him things and seeing how he responds, and only by people he's attracted to. Don't call him kitten, though, unless you're prepared to see a knife.

Z - Zones (what are their erogenous zones? what spots on their body should be touched, bitten, kissed, when someone wants to get them in the mood?)

// I think I covered this in the kissing answer. His neck is definitely the main one. Followed by his waist, if you're lucky enough to see it exposed. Squeezing his arse works, too, but probably best done if you're in bed with him and not just passing or you'll be in for a world of trouble that day. For good or ill.

Loki was idly scrolling through varaint documents when a particularly intriguing file caught his eye.

Claire, a Thor variant, and Steve, a Loki variant, had provoked a nexus event but weren't caught by the TVA.

Hmmm... if Loki found what they were guilty of, he might just be able to spell his way out.

As Thor advanced on him, he held up a hand, pushing out with his Seidr; but nothing that would actually harm his brother.

Thor pressed in, crowding Loki up against the wall and boxing him in with his arms. “You were always part of me, Loki. you were the first. Sif is uptight, I love her, but she is. Fandral wasn’t jealous of your beauty, Loki, he was in love with you and Volstagg... yeah alright. That one I’ll give you. But you have to know, brother,” he hissed the word, face close to Loki’s. “It. Was. Always. YOU! And then you LEFT!”

Thor pulled away and turned, hands curling into fists as his lightning danced over his body. He was breathing hard, as if he’d just had a glorious battle or ran a marathon. “I thought we would always be side by side,” he whispered, “you and me. Fighting, learning, ruling, always side by side. But then you left and suddenly I was alone.”

//Hngh. Thorki is one of my most powerfully loved ships for Loki. I'd like to get back into doing more fanfics for them at some point. They have so much chemistry and history and deep love for each other and it's fascinating to explore that in the fictional taboo. I am extremely picky about the portrayal of a role-played thorki Thor and since the recent rising tide of pearl clutchers in fandom I haven't seen any writers with a hankering for it who will do so on tumblr (though I'm also aware there has been past drama from both sides that I thankfully missed out on XD), but I do indeed ship it and write it. I love how people complain about how companies make LGBTQIA+ characters have their gayness as their only characteristic if it's anything more than a mention, and then get mad at Disney for not making his bisexuality and genderfluidity his entire personality. I'm pansexual, and I'm happy they're not going into Loki's sexual history. That's really fucking wierd. You never demanded to see the women Thor fucked in his past after his first movie! You people just want to fetishize men loving men, claiming its homophobia that he's not romantically attracted to a man in the story so far. It's disgusting how big of a fit you pull the second you don't think your ship is going to be canon. The actors especially don't deserve the hate you're giving them for the roles they play as their jobs.

Edit: Also I swear to the heavens above you people would be bending over backwards shipping these two if they were both male presenting. This is the same fandom who shipped Thorki for the last decade and now you people are suddenly mad about "self-incest" (not a thing btw, you cant do the dirty with your clone in real life, not a real concept with any consequences). Not to mention, plenty of you were in the Lorax fandom when all of that was going on.
