Getting up and going to the mini fridge he pulled out a can of juice and handed it to Tricky. "Hold it to your face, still got a bit of a shiner there. Least it makes you look rugged, your modeling career still intact."

DJ actually laughed, "Shit remind me to charge by the minute next time," he said giving Tricky a small shake from the shoulders. "It's always easier outside looking in, you know? Trust me eventually I'ma come around to you asking for to figure some shit out and you'll give me an obvious answer."

"Shit I could cut in front of him no issue, still got both knees going for me," he quipped. Nodding he gave a half grin at Tricky, "This your way of calling me an angel? Careful, you're getting close to flirting and then Dahlia really have your hide." He was fully grinning now, slightly buzzed from their drinks and shots, though happy that Tricky seemed at least a little lighter than he'd come in looking.

Tricky paused to consider DJ's words. He made a point that he hadn't considered before. There was a careful line between the things he blew up and the things he didn't. "Well fuck, DJ, I think you finally gave me that breakthrough people tell me to see a therapist for," Tricky exhaled slowly, head still reeling. He was upset about his fight with James because he wanted him around. He wanted to cause a little disruption, but this was too far, and he was miserable; and it had been a very long time since he regret ruining something just to try to feel anything but empty and numb.

"I think you'd have to get in line after Mal," Tricky chuckled a little, grabbing DJ's shoulder in thanks. "I can't say I blame Dahlia for wanting to protect the kids; I was just in my wallowing hole. I really do feel like the skies just opened up and one of those biblically accurate fucks came down to slap me across the face. I do want to be around you. You're good."

why are most sci fi fans the most idiotic and ignorant debate bros. a book called "Three Body Problem" has nothing to do with queerness? it has nothing to say about gender binaries and sexuality? not even imply? oh i see it's just a sci fi show. oh so adding queer characters is pushing an agenda. oh adding queer characters is pushing a WESTERN agenda! really!

i dont know how to tell you that a show adapted for a Netflix/American audience called "3 Body Problem" is 1) inevitably going to become a little bit more Americanized, but also 2) saying something about QUEERNESS as well as POC, you know, the most marginalized communities in America. If the characters in the trilogy aren't explicitly queer, don't you think the show is trying to say something about QUEER ASIANS when they DO write them to be queer??

off topic for a sec but stay with me: the issues with American politics and ideology is that it's so binary and strict. creating a third "body" of/to control is not the solution. the path to improving America is to look outward. for example, Chinese philosophies of yin and yang, give and take, wholeness of the self, etc. The American government's obsession with surveillance and controlling your feelings, thoughts, identity (Catholicism) is disrupted by Buddhist philosophy of meditation: calm concentration, harm no living creature, whatever is in your own head when you meditate is up to you, no thought you think is inherently bad.

so how is the story NOT about queerness and marginalized people? the first episode shows a half white, half Chinese woman kill herself before immediately cutting to a white woman singing on a stage, "I kissed a girl and I liked it." That juxtaposition is deliberate film-making dude!!! it's on PURPOSE!!! why is the asian woman at the bottom of a lake while the white woman gets to dance on stage? why is the asian woman silent and dead while the white woman gets to sing and live?

People who don't fit into the binaries, like queer people and mixed race people, are threatened by the world that says, "You shouldn't be here. You don't fit in. There isn't space for you." When these non-binary (as in, not fitting into binaries) characters hear that "God" is coming, that the Judgment Day is coming, it feels like the world is ending, they're gonna be the first to be killed, and it's best to just get it over with. Really similar to how queers, disabled people, poc often react when fascists rise to power. the showrunners are not doing this on accident!!!??

lastly. including queer characters in a story that was originally written in Chinese is not disrespectful to the work or to Chinese culture, because guess what!! there are queer people all over China too!!

It's bloomsday! Have a Sinner based on Stephen instead because a Sinner based on Bloom would just be Outis but Irish and I already did that. Or, What if Sinclair had more Catholic guilt and also the guilt of not following in his father's self destructive footsteps against the British The Wing that seized control of his District and disenfranchised them?

He had needed about a week to really process the information Addison gave him. A daughter? It seemed unlikely, but for some woman to remember and name him as the father? Especially after his conversation with Anika, why would someone fabricate a story with a missing person? He was still conflicted, but he could only delay the inevitable for so long.

He had asked Addison to go get her and bring her here for a talk. He wasn't even sure what they'd have to talk about, but she wanted to see him, and he owed her at least that much.

"Hey Trick," Addison let themselves into the house, followed by Sutton. "I can hang around a bit, if you two want me to. I'm usually pretty good at mediating conversations." The comment was aimed at Sutton, but Tricky himself shrugged, standing up.

"Hi," his own body felt awkward as he extended a hand to the girl who was supposed to be his daughter. "I, uh. I'm Tricky."
