Newest thrifting acquisition. Though I predominantly dress in black, olive green is one of my absolute favourite colours, especially for clothing. This particular jacket is also very nostalgic for me, as my dad had one extremely similar when I was a teenager, and I used to steal it. His had patches and embroidery on it, and I'm sure this will end up with some of those 😁

BTW, thrifting pro-tip: this was in the children's section, and is labelled as being for a 14-15 year old. I am 42 years old and it fits me perfectly (I'm a UK size 10). Do not be afraid of checking out the section of your charity shop/thrift store that isn't "intended" for you - the kid's section tends to be much cheaper, and many items intended for a large child will fit a smallish adult (if you're very petite maybe stuff for even younger kids will fit you).

Even if the thing you like doesn't fit, you can often mod it in some way, like cutting off the front of a t-shirt and sewing it onto one that does fit you, or turning it into a patch.

i found an army at the vintage store yesterday >:3 ultimately didn't get any bc i couldn't afford them n the other stuff i found but it was cool to see :D

also found a full-size working snow leopard that i'm gonna clean up soon !! i take the batteries out of my furbs so they don't terrorize my cats but it's always cool to get working ones

🌺 Felt like sharing these cute finds I got today while thrifting! (ʃƪ ˘ ³˘)

I did some searching about the bunny, and I found the same one in a different colour listed on a secondhand website as a souvenir from Kyoto, Japan.

I love finding secondhand souvenirs, is that strange? I don’t really know anyone who travels so these things are so cool to me, I can’t help buying them all LOL. So far I’ve also collected two Sri Lankan carved wooden keychains, a backpack from London shaped like a bus, and an embroidered shoulder bag from Barcelona. Okay, that’s the end of the post, I’m a bit chatty today, oops!

The local St. Vincent DuPaul thrift store had some treasures this week.

Today I found my partner a perfectly lovely (and well-fitting) men's suit jacket, and these for myself:

What kind of treasure did I stumble into?

They were each in a plastic bag, with a Chancery-font label identifying them as Evening Gown, Tea Dress, and Day Dress. They're all on hangers. They each have a packet with hat/hair ornaments, jewelry, spats, and handbags.

It's clearly a wardrobe set for a collector doll, likely porcelain. It's not the Josephine doll from Franklin Mint (the Gibson Girl) but it is exquisitely detailed.

I paid less than $4 for the set. They were stapled together at the top.

I can't wait to put these on my 1/escape BJDs.

The thrift store gods were nice today and let us find perfect outfits to see Barbenheimer (although we're seeing Oppenheimer first so it's technically Oppenbie) anddddd the perfect base dress for a christmas Barbie look for Holmat! Gonna add more layers of tulle and make some sleeve poofs to match the 1988 Holiday Barbie!

Kids size 5 shoe fits men’s us 4 and women’s us 7-8 (keep an eye on wide toes that’s the hardest part)

So like: $30 thrifted nearly brand new doc’s for meeeeee (would not buy these new I do not have that kind of money)

Unfortunately he doesn't seem to work, we've tried replacing the batteries and giving him affection but we've got notta response.

I was wondering if any other furby collectors or anyone had any advice?
